he lets the admission sit between them in the pause. in this time, he hangs his head, hand grazing the back of his neck to hide the way the corners of his lips stretch, as though in annoyance. though if there is anyone he should direct his anger to, let it be himself for doubting and in doing so, open himself up to be played a fool. “but no, of course not. you would’ve sent an email.”

seunghan pulls his head up, his features settling into a grave look. here’s the game plan, “we tell no one. we play dumb and gather more information, find out what the hell we’re all doing on jeju — then, when we get back to seoul, you and i are going to talk.” his features soften and for a moment, the tone of his voice loses the hardening of time. here, the boy again. here, the naïve believer. “do you trust me?”
