nowhere girls lore planning & ideas:
plum, deer, and ego represent three sides of the same girl. plum represents the confidence of the girl; the endurance despite it all crashing down, and her intelligence in difficult situations: represents the brain and the future. deer represents the softness and submissiveness of the girl; how society forces her to choke down any emotions she may have: represents the heart and the past. ego represents the negative thoughts of the girl: represents the soul and the present.
they exist on different planes of existence named tomorrow (future), origin (past), and reflection (present)
at one point plum is killed idk she’s like the madoka of the universe
WAIT. plum = madoka. deer = homura. ego = kyubey
ego is the ‘villain’ but villain in the sense of loonaverse villain u know
except her villain role is actually fully fledged
oh the tiers of the world go like this btw: tomorrow -> reflection -> origin with origin at the bottom and tomorrow at the top
reflection is called that because the realm of reflection mirrors both tomorrow and origin
themes of time loops, dreams, sacrifice, surrealism, puzzles, horror, parallel realities, and rebirth
‘the girl’ is like billie in the billlie universe
overarching character whilst not ever being present
like she’s the whole reason why the universe exists but she’s been dead since the beginning. wow what a doomed girl

LOONA “Why Not?” music video analysis and theories
LOONA’s staff stated in an interview that this music video would be expanding more of the “LOONAverse”... Boy, they weren’t kidding! There was a lot of lore in this video! It honestly left me speechless during my first watch.
So now, I’ll be breaking down the music video and sharing my theories as to where the lore is going next! Without further ado, let’s begin.
New world, new start
So, it seems that “Why Not?” is picking up after the events of “So What”, showing the aftermath of Olivia burning the moon and the girls breaking the loop.
The first thing we see is Olivia standing alone as a car circles around her. At first, I thought this could represent Olivia still being stuck in the loop, but I don’t think that’s the case. Remember, Olivia burned the moon in “So What”, which means her actions are the cause for everything that’s happening. Essentially, Olivia is the eye of the storm. (Keep that in mind for later.)
Then, we see Heejin standing behind lightning, and later a meteor/fireball crashes on the ground near her and explodes like fireworks.
I think the storm is a result of the girls breaking the loop, like Olivia burning the moon caused fireballs to rain down from the sky. Essentially, with the loop being broken, the universe is trying to restabilize itself.
I’ve said in a previous theory that the time loop might’ve been a side effect to some sort of instability within the LOONAverse. Now that the loop is broken, things are a little messed up and the world is trying to fix itself.
Rebirth of Odd Eye Circle?
This is what I was most excited to see after watching the teaser, and speculated that we could see something in the MV! And it appears I was right; Odd Eye Circle are regaining their powers!
Firstly, there’s Choerry, hanging upside down from the ceiling while sitting on a mirror. This has always been a big part of the lore, but also notice the neon flames around the mirror.
Remember what the slogan in “So What” was? “Burn yourself”; shed away your old self and become a new, stronger, freer you. The last comeback was all about LOONA discovering the hidden sides of themselves and being reborn.
Heejin sings, “I’m a bad girl, they all say,” while Choerry says, “I’m not a bad girl, I’m just different.” They are unapologetically being themselves, no matter what anyone thinks.
Then we have Kim Lip, standing out in a field with three orbs of light circling her. This clearly calls back to Odd Eye Circle’s reveal teaser, where we saw Kim Lip standing in a field waiting for Choerry, as well as the three moons that represented the Odd Eye girls.
Kim Lip is the leader and likely founder of the Odd Eye Circle, so she’s probably come here to restore her, Jinsoul, and Choerry’s powers.
Towards the end, she starts to float in the air, showing her ascension in regaining her powers.
And lastly we have Jinsoul, who, aside from Kim Lip, has the most obvious hints about her powers returning.
Not only do we see a shot of rain drops freezing around her (perhaps by her own doing since she has clear connections to rain/oceans/water), but we get a very clear shot of her Odd Eye glowing!
We also see her inside a telephone booth. Is she trying to contact someone? Maybe one of the other members? Or someone in another world?
On the search
With Haseul absent from this comeback, I think this music video is showing the girls searching for Haseul. We see everyone in different locations, from urban streets, to open fields.
Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Olivia, and Yeojin are seen in a grocery store, though Yeojin is shown by herself.
Could Yeojin have gone off to find Haseul on her own and Choerry+yyxy (minus Go Won) went looking for her so she wouldn’t get lost again?
Yeojin’s scene also shows several cans floating around her as if frozen in time, similar to the rain with Jinsoul’s scene earlier. Again, this is a sign that the time flow is still a bit warped.
ViVi is seen in the driver’s seat of a car, in the same location we see Yves at later.
Since ViVi was separated from the rest of the girls in “So What”, maybe she’s looking for them now. And like Hyunjin and Choerry with the tuk tuks, she’s taking hold of the wheel, ergo taking control of her fate.
Towards the end, we see apples frozen in the air around ViVi. Could the apples have been left by Yves for ViVi? Will they give her knowledge about something, maybe so that she can find the others?
Chuu is also shown in scenes with a car, but unlike most of the other scenes throughout the MV, instead of it being at night, hers is in daylight.
In fact, the sun seems to be a lot closer to the Earth than it should be. Is she even on Earth? Did she go back to Eden for some reason?
We see Olivia again, now at night (her earlier scene of the car circling her was also in daylight), but the car has now stopped and she’s with a group of unknown girls. Are they supposed to represent other members? Other LOONAs? Or something else entirely?
Once again, we see that Olivia is being her true self, unapologetically (letting out her inner wolf), and is taking control of her fate (the car lights come on the same time she opens her eyes).
The shadowed girls also gain red glowing eyes towards the end, similar to what we see in “Egoist”.
The album description said that LOONA were becoming pioneers for all other “LOONAs” around the world. And this shows us that Olivia is taking on that role to lead others. Effectively, she’s become the alpha wolf; the leader of her own pack.
There’s an interesting scene with Hyunjin, Yeojin, ViVi, and Go Won dancing together and surrounded by multiple moons. Are they in the Cosmos? Perhaps the other moons could represent the members. And speaking of moons…
The moonlight festival begins
As midnight strikes, and we see shots of girls in Paris start to dance, we are shown a scene of all the girls dancing in a circle around a campfire. However, they’re on the moon and everything is going backwards.
At first I thought this was the girls making it to the moon, but what if this is actually the girls’ shadows? Could the girls be dreaming of being together on the moon? Are the girls in the mirror world trying to send a message to LOONA?
We later see them throwing colored dust, showing them spreading their colors, showing their true selves.
Go Won is also seen surrounded by blue smoke, but then we get a shot of her floating above Earth. Interestingly enough, she’s above a hurricane.
Go Won initiated the butterfly effect that sparked change in the LOONAverse, influencing other LOONAs to fly and free themselves from the loop. Like the chaos theory describes it, the small flap of a butterfly’s wings can cause a hurricane somewhere else. Go Won was the catalyst for the storm brought about by Olivia.
Then, we see the same field Kim Lip was in earlier, except now the grass is purple, just like in “Love Cherry Motion” (another sign that Choerry’s regained her powers), and the orbs of light have multiplied from three to twelve.
Twelve orbs of light, representing twelve moons… The twelve members of LOONA. One of them starts to float away from the loop. Could this be Haseul, since she’s missing? Or is it someone else getting separated from the group?
What happened to Hyunjin?
The final shot of the MV shows Hyunjin by herself, with only one shoe on her feet.
I saw a Youtube comment point out that this felt similar to Cinderella, who lost her shoe when she was leaving the ball at the stroke of midnight. But what does this mean for Hyunjin?
Before this final shot, we see Hyunjin in two other scenes throughout the whole video (aside from group scenes): her dance scene with Heejin, and the dance scene with Yeojin, ViVi, and Go Won. That latter scene is actually filmed in the same location we see Hyunjin alone in at the end.
Also, her converse are black, and we see a reversed shot of a girl in black converse running on the moon. Her footprint disappears since the sequence is reversed, yet she’s still missing a shoe.
In that final shot, we also see a butterfly. The butterflies always represented Go Won, since she caused the butterfly effect, so maybe that is a message from her.
I have two possible ideas for this scene:
Hyunjin got left behind and is now stuck in the Cosmos. If so, she either has to find a way back herself, or wait for the others. If the butterfly is from Go Won, perhaps it will help lead her back to Earth.
If Hyunjin made it back to Earth, she left her one shoe behind for someone else. Maybe Haseul? Go Won caused the butterfly effect to save Haseul, so maybe the butterfly will lead Hyunjin to her location.
===
Well, that does it for my breakdown! What did you think? What theories do you have? Feel free to share your thoughts! Until then...

THEORY TIME
rather than heejin or yves being god its actually jinsoul !!
ok so theres two routes to this loona x christianity theory
oec represents the idea of god being 3 people and 1 person at the same time (kim lip as god the creator of oec / jinsoul as jesus the prophet of the loonaverse that awakens the other girls for their true destiny / choerry as the holy spirit the spirit/person who uses power to help individuals start their journey through cherries/fruit)
heejin, jinsoul, and olivia hye as the idea of god being 3 people and 1 person at the same time (heejin as god / jinsoul as jesus / olivia hye as the holy spirit) - this one is a little more shaky esp with olivia hye bc i can see her as god too
jinsoul is the 7th member but she was orginally the 6th and if you take the average she would be the ult middle member !! and rather than oec being 3 ppl its actually one person with personas aka jinsoul with a kim lip/choerry persona !!
in the bible it follows jesus life so jinsoul as a jesus figure would be the one to set the loonaverse so maybe the whole loonaverse timeline is basically jinsoul’s life journey similar to how the bible follows jesus’ life
here are the potential roles for each member (if i read more into the bible i’ll try to find other potential roles and update)
heejin - matthew
hyunjin - mark
haseul - luke
yeojin - john
vivi - adam
kim lip - god*
jinsoul - jesus*
choerry - holy spirit*
yves - eve
chuu - cain
gowon - abel
olivia hye - serpent
*oec are essentially the same person but with multiple personas but for my theory i see jinsoul as the main person who has kim lip and choerry as side personas and they are connected through their odd eye
so heejin, hyunjin, haseul, and yeojin are the four evangelists who wrote the books of the new testament. the evangelists were coordinated with the members based on the order of the books - heejin as matthew who was one of the first followers of jesus and eventually became one of his twelve disciples / hyunjin as mark who is represented by a winged lion / haseul as luke who wrote about the beginning of adam and even to the end of jesus’ life when he goes to heaven / yeojin as john the youngest of the twelve disciples
so i have bad memory and i remember that one of the evangelists (i think it was john but based on what ive been seeing online it sounds like matthew but i hope its john bc it would make sense with the theory) was at first in denial that jesus existed and believed that anyone who believed in him was a fool but eventually john met jesus and was so touched about jesus that john gave up everything and became a evangelist/disciple for jesus - in relation to loona john and yeojin are the similar in the sense that they were lost and were eventually found so in john’s case he became enlightened with jesus and for yeojin she was lost in the forest aka she was ignorant until she was found by the other girls (in hi high it was haseul whose evangelists is the most knowledgeable of the evangelists and seems to be the closest (knowledge wise) to jesus)
in another timeline we have adam and eve. idk if yall know the basics of the story but basically god creates the pair and told them they can eat anything but from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (aka the apple tree) and a serpent tricks eve into eating the apple and eve gives some of the apple to adam - even though eve told the serpent that she would die if she ate the apple the serpent told her that she wouldnt die and that her eyes would be open with knowledge - they know have more knowledge than before but they also know of evil and shame . the apple they ate makes them theoretically as powerful as god. god curses the serpent and he punishes adam and eve by banishing them from eden. yves would be eve first bc of her name duh but bc she is the first to take the bite of the apple. vivi would be adam bc in new we see vivi as yves companion and vivi ends up getting punished by becoming an android. im not confident about olivia hye as the serpent but based on egoist she feels wrath maybe because of receiving punishment for adam and eve and therefore is also mad at god, adam, and eve and also serpents are known to represent rebirth - but olivia hye as the serpent doesnt make as much sense as olivia hye being god bc her wrath is now towards adam and eve for betraying her which matches with the plot of egoist more
choerry is seen in 2 of the 4 yyxy mvs and has symbolism in egoist - jinsoul is taking the form of choerry aka the holy spirit and uses fruit for the other girls to start their journey into the universe OR jinsoul takes on the form of choerry to watch over the girls - similar to how god was in the garden of eden to watch over adam and eve.
so for chuu and gowon my theory is a little shaky bc in this case it makes yves seem like god rather than eve but maybe it could be god/jinsoul acting through yves aka choerry’s appearances. cain and abel are the first and second sons of adam and eve. cain and abel both make sacrifices to god but god prefers abel’s more and cain murders abel bc of it. god punishes cain to a life of wandering. so regarding to the loonaverse, the sacrifices might be the girls eating their respective fruit - god favors abel more aka gowon and we can see that in one and only where gowon is crowned by yves aka her being the favorite. in this case then chuu essentially murders gowon and gets punished by being stuck with wandering for the rest of her life - we dont see any acts of violence towards gowon and chuu but we do see chuu always trying to impress yves aka god in a sense. the scene in one and only where gowon eats her fruit and then we see yves staring at gowon and chuu staring at yves basically sums up their relationships with each other. since chuu “kills” gowon despite trying hard to impress yves (plot of heart attack) she is now cursed with a life of wandering which can be seen in the end of heart attack where after yves and chuu are together she wakes up in the dark and when haseul wakes her up chuu seems to be confused and just walks away - similar to just wandering around. also in the scene you see haseul smile as if she knows what is happening and remember haseul is luke aka the evangelist who wrote about adam and eve so maybe haseul knows everything that occurred or is going to occur
#theory time#im catholic and i havent been to catholic school in like 3 years so my memory is shaky askdfjkd but i placed 4th out of my whole class so#im trustworthy to an extent KJALKDSFJ#that was wild#kim lip = ded in this situation akjlfkdj

LOONA Lunar Calendar Theory by bowlingalixP
this was originally posted in the loona subreddit, but i got permission to post it here! i personally think that a majority of these things were intended by BBC, if not all of them. enjoy the read!
“I created this chart that outlines the exact phases of the moon on the days that the girls were announced to the world. These phases do not include teaser trailer dates or single release dates. This is simply just the exact days that the girls/groups were announced.
What's particularly interesting is that:
The “Good Girls” 1/3 are ALMOST a Full Moon - they released a day before the full moon actually.
The only two girls that have a waxing moon phase (“growing light”) are HaSeul (the leader) and YeoJin. HaSeul, being the ONLY girl in the entire group to have more of the “light” side of the moon in her release than dark. The rest of the girls seem to be taken over by the “Darkness.”
The “Bad Girls” Odd Eye Circle are ALMOST a New Moon - once again this group released a day before the new moon. Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry (the members of this subgroup) have similar moon phases. Only, Kim Lip is being taken over more by the darkness than JinSoul and Choerry respectively. Interestingly enough, ViVi who has been moved on the Loona website into Odd Eye Circle and has been seen with OEC at meet-and-greets has the SAME thing happening with her; her moon phase actually fits in-between JinSoul’s and Choerry’s.
Yves, Chuu, and Go Won have a progressive pattern that is really interesting. As the girls are released you can see that the dark side of the moon is slowly taking them over more and more - one by one. A similar, and interesting thing, is happening with HeeJin and HyunJin and I think their videos have a lot to do with it.
Interestingly enough, HaSeul is in Chuu's video waking her up. Perhaps this is showing that HaSeul has the power to bring the girls out of the darkness and into the light - since she is the only girl released in a moon phase growing towards a full moon. Heejin also has a girl looking at her in her video which almost exactly resembles a scene in GoWon's video where she is looking out. Their moon phases are really similar but GoWon is a step after Heejin’s. I think that GoWon in Heejin’s video kinda shows that although filled with joy - her moon phase is fading at that mystery and darkness will soon set in. Hyunjin’s video is fairly sad - basically pinning her at a girl that is being watched and a girl that watches others (specifically her crush). Although a happy person, she’s seems very upset in the video - perhaps the darkness resembles it setting in for her? That may be a bit of a stretch... but in the duet video with HeeJin and HyunJin, they both are wearing yellow and purple plaid, which is what Yves, Chuuu and GoWon wear when they are in their videos toying between the bad and good sides of the Loonaverse.
A lot of theories about the girls and other stuff can actually be pulled from just this release calendar, maybe even about the next girl?
Not one girl has been released on a Full Moon or a New Moon. A new moon resembles both death and rebirth - darkness and light. Do you think it’s possible that this new girl will get released on a lunar New Moon? A Full Moon represents a rhythmic cycle which is more in tune with these girls - they are all connected to each other. My guess is a lunar Full Moon. The next one is on March 1st, 2018 which interestingly is the day after the 28th of February (the last teaser referencing one day after February 28th). Maybe the New Girl will be released on a Full Moon and the new subgroup released on a New Moon? **
Another thing to take into consideration is that the date 2/29/2018 is actually April 14th on the Lunar Calendar. Perhaps they will be releasing a girl on the Full Moon of the 28th and people will think “Wow this clue was for that” and then on the 14th of April get hit with the real reason for the clue - the actual release of the full group. What do you think?”
** although no girl has had a teaser all by herself yet, one for a theory event called Up & Line was posted on march 1st at midnight KST. in this teaser video you can see the silhouette of the 12th girl, and the event it's teasing is taking place on march 17th. of course, march 17th happens to be a new moon. i think that the release of a video today (which should count as the first announcement of the 12th girl) lines up with the idea that something even bigger is coming on april 14th.
#loona#loona theory#this is very very cool and i like that it was posted just before march 1st kst. so like a day after we get confirmation that this is probabl

HIIIII ur art is literally so god damn cool how come they's so few people looking at it yet???
like I looked at the hana stuff for the like 2 seconds and I was immediately in love!! like I'm a person with very specific art tastes and you like me all of them, i LOVE the kind of semi realistic almost a little anime-ish painterly textured style you got going ♥\(◕.◕〃 )
I'm like really curious actually and I am a little stupid so maybe it's something with some kind of mythical meaning I don't know about but what exactly is the mobius strip? I understand it allows gods to create mortal beings or something?.. but that's as far as I understood.
with LOTS!!!! of love, Olliver.
HAII omg this ask means a lot to me!! i'm so glad you're enjoying my project 💗 dw about asking about these things it's quite complicated and i love talking about it!
in canon (base loonaverse i suppose) the mobius strip is a symbol associated with the loonaverse and we don't know much more.
It is assumed that it is probably the shape of the world the girls inhabit. not necessarily the universe, but that it holds the various dimensions (earth, the inbetween/middle earth, eden). there shd be some videos on this uploaded online if u want to read further into the theory.
diagrams:
ok now for loonaverse rebirth, my retelling keeps the same structure for the first world the characters live on! it circles the moon as that is hana's domain as a minor deity. she chooses the shape of a mobius strip because it's not too complex for a small god like her (only 2 planes) + it allows her to create the dimensions she wants to explore. (mimicking earth and an eden-like utopia) the in-between is just a need so that her and her appointed guardians (odd eye circle) can travel between the two.
tldr: gods in general can create worlds and and mortals! smaller gods (hana) can only do it to a limited extent which is why hana opted for a mobius strip to stretch her capabilities. And do borderline inhumane experiments but she doesn't know that.
also js to add on! usually smaller deities like her can't create worlds but she loved observing earth so much that she begged the sun deity (the most powerful one) to let her and the sun was like ok just don't fuck up and go beyond 2 planes (she fucks up and her inhabitants break through the two planes -> creating the apocalypse on the moon)

LOONA # era teasers analysis and theories
Alright, so quick disclaimer. I am actually working on some analysis and theories regarding the music video for “So What” and how is affects the story of the LOONAverse, but first, I wanted to share the analysis I made for the teasers.
The reason why is because I had already written most of these points before the release of the “So What” MV; some were added on after the MV released, but for the most part, it was all speculation before the comeback.
I also wanted to correct a few details made from my original timeline analysis that I had got wrong. They don’t change my analysis too drastically, but I would still like to bring them up before talking about “So What”.
So, let’s start with addressing those corrections before analyzing the teasers.
…
Firstly, there is the scene at the end of “Love & Live”, where we see ViVi stop in the middle of the road, apparently out of breath, just after the timer on her battery runs out.
It was confirmed in an interview by ViVi herself, as well as the director of the video, that in that scene, she became human.
So, we can now say that the ending to “Love & Live” was the moment where ViVi became human again. She regained the ability to feel emotion, feel tired, to dream, and to eat food again, but her memories were still a little messed up. It’s through her interactions with Heejin, Hyunjin, and Haseul, that she eventually remembers what happened that led to her becoming an android.
Next, is regarding Chuu and Gowon’s representative emotions.
Originally, it was shown through the “one” short movie that Chuu represents love and Gowon represents hope. However, this was switched in the description for the “Butterfly” music video; Chuu is now hope and Gowon is now love.
At first, I was baffled by this change. Chuu representing love and Gowon as hope just made more sense to me. However, I decided to keep an open mind. So let’s see how these two fit into their newly designated emotions.
The description for “Butterfly” reads: “Chuu keeps her ‘hopes’ up with her yearning towards Yves. Gowon ‘loves’ her unique self.” These are both proven to be true, as we see in their respective solo MVs.
Chuu is relentlessly stubborn in her efforts to gain Yves’ attention and affection in “Heart Attack”.
And Gowon sings about how she learns to love herself, her “One & Only”.
(There’s even a double meaning to that, as Gowon is referring to her “one and only” self as her “one and only” love.)
Lyrics in other LOONA songs also reaffirm this. In yyxy’s “one way”, Gowon ends the song with the spoken line, “But I still love you.” And in “Butterfly”, Chuu sings the line “Dreams, dreams may come true.”
So yeah, now that that’s cleared up, it’s time to talk about the # era teasers!
Keep in mind that most of the observations were made before the release of “So What”. I will use my analysis of what we see in “So What” to correct or alter some of these previous observations.
…
The end of the beginning
So, from watching and re-watching the teasers for “#”, I’ve begun forming a new theory of where the story of the LOONAverse could be heading.
Starting with the first teaser released last year, simply titled “#”, we see several shots that appear to parallel or reference scenes we saw in the “X X” teasers (namely XIIX, XIIIX, and XIVX) and the “Butterfly” music video.
We see Gowon in Iceland, removing her black coat just like she did in “XIIX” when she went back in time to save Haseul and initiate the butterfly effect. In my timeline analysis, I said that this was Gowon’s shadow, since the real Gowon was asleep.
We see her awake later on, with her coat still on. She looks up at the sky, but what does she see?
Then we see Olivia, when she woke up after the world had changed due to Gowon’s butterfly effect. We see a shot of her going up the stairs, possibly hearing Gowon calling to her.
We also see her pass by the girl with the afro we saw dancing in “Butterfly”. Olivia looks back at her as she continues looking for presumably the other yyxy girls.
We later see Chuu, looking for Yves to reunite with her after the butterfly effect. She turns around, as if something caught her attention.
There are also a couple of scenes showing some of the other girls who appeared in “Butterfly”; the other LOONAs.
We see the girl who was standing on the rooftop look back confused, as if she doesn’t remember how she got there.
We even briefly see the “X X” and “+ +” in the black box over her eyes.
Then we see the eye of a girl looking up at the sky, the eye belonging to the girl with the crutches. Did she see something?
Then we see the short haired “Odd Eye” girl (this one was meant to represent Choerry) standing in front of goldfish tanks while holding a plastic bag with a fish. But what is she doing here?
Knowing that the fish tanks are meant to represent alternate timelines, I’m going to propose two possibilities:
1.) Choerry was trying to travel to the past like Gowon did, either to contact herself from the past, or another member, to tell them what was going to happen.
Or…
2.) She was trying to save one of the other members from the time loop resetting by placing them in another timeline. But the question is who?
Probably the most noteworthy are the girls in the red tracksuits, who we see running up the stairs, trying to reach something, but are then seen collapsed on the ground, as if they all fell asleep.
We see imagery of things being burned, such as tags with “+ +” and “X X” on them, and a butterfly's wings, as well as a swarm of butterflies flying up from what appear to be flames.
And throughout the video, many of these clips and images were shown with a VHS static overlay. (See images above.)
And which member do we frequently connect this effect with? ViVi. So why are we seeing this static overlay here?
Well, something I have gone back and forth about including in the LOONA timeline is 1/3’s “Rain 51db”. But it might actually have more significance than I originally thought.
Alongside the VHS tape recording aesthetic, similar to ViVi’s “Everyday I Love You”, this video feels like it came straight from the 90’s. There’s also something quite peculiar about the beginning of the video, but that’s something we’ll discuss later.
The main reason I didn’t include “Rain 51db” in my timeline was because I had no idea where to place it. I didn’t know if this was some alternate timeline, or another dream or warped memory from ViVi. I even thought it could’ve been a sort of message 1/3 was trying to send to someone. (Odd Eye Circle maybe?)
But the more I think about it, it makes sense for this to be a memory or dream from ViVi.
Or rather… It’s both. It’s a memory of a dream.
If we consider the cassette tapes in ViVi’s possession as a way to access memories through dreaming, then that means we can link the VHS static effect with someone dreaming, whether that be ViVi herself, or another member.
So, this means what we see in the # teaser are memories, and maybe even memories of dreams.
And the dreamlike vision of the butterflies flying is abruptly cut by static, before immediately taking us back to a bird’s eye view of the black sand beach in Iceland.
(And just a quick aside, I won’t be trying to decode what the blurred message we see in the static could be. Because, I don’t think that’s a detail we should be focused on; rather, the fact that the cut to static is present at all to begin with.)
This exact same shot is where we open “#1″ with, before another flash of static, some quick black and white images of the 1/3 girls, cutting to Heejin waking up floating above the clouds.
I think what we are seeing in the “#” teaser is another instance similar to the first “X X” teaser, when we saw everything in “Hi High” being rewound; the time loop is being reset again.
The previous timelines of “+ +” and “X X” are being erased, and so are the girls’ memories. They become like memories of dreams. Memories that start to fade after you wake up, and eventually disappear.
And the tracksuit wearing girls we see collapsed on the ground could represent the other members of LOONA. Only one of them managed to break out of the Moebius time loop, and the others tried to catch up to her, but failed as the time loop began to catch up to them.
And who was the one girl who made it out? Heejin.
In “#1”, Heejin awakens alone in the sky above the Moebius. She was the only one who managed to fly high enough to break out of the Moebius loop. Only she managed to reach the moon, where the Goddess was waiting for her. We see she reached the moon in “#2”.
[[**Flash warning for gif**]]
But her friends are still stuck in the time loop, and now that she’s out of the Moebius loop, the world is rewriting itself completely. The eclipse we see in “#2” signifies this; it is the sign of the end and beginning of the world.
“+ +” was about three worlds (Earth, middle Earth/the Cosmos, Eden) becoming one; “X X” was about the girls uniting with their shadow selves on the mirror side of the LOONAverse. And as we’ll talk about later, “#” in my opinion is about the destruction and rebirth of the LOONAverse.
So what does Heejin do seeing that her friends are still trapped by the Moebius loop? She willingly falls back to Earth to save her friends.
Similar to the “fall of Icarus”, whose wings burned due to hubris, Heejin made the conscious choice to go back so she and her friends could break out of the loop together; because they were meant to be together, as twelve.
So how has the world and the other girls changed?
The back of the moon
The “#3” teaser shows us the “back of the moon”, meaning we are in an alternate, darker timeline than what we’ve previously been following. Certain things about the girls, their relationships, and other aspects from LOONA’s story have been reversed, or slightly altered.
Firstly, we see ViVi, now a graffiti artist, most likely using graffiti as an act of self expression and maybe even rebellion against something.
In the teaser for “So What”, she tosses a can of spray paint while looking down towards the camera.
I think in this new timeline, ViVi is a human. But perhaps she is having a different sort of identity crisis, using graffiti as a way to express herself.
Then we see Kim Lip in what appears to be a museum or palace. Kim Lip is one of the few members who does not turn around in the whole video.
We see a similar looking setting later in “To all LOONAs around the world”, but Gowon is there, in a different place in possibly the same location.
We then see Hyunjin and Choerry are together, facing a line of tuk tuks. Some of them have different colored headlights, but the most notable are the orange and green headlights seen side by side, most likely meant to represent Haseul and Yeojin.
Next, we see Jinsoul walking on a train with a group of unknown girls (Update: it’s been revealed these are members of LOONA, but we’ll talk about that later on).
She looks behind her, but turns her head back to facing forward as she continues on. Perhaps in this new timeline, Jinsoul is indulging more in her inner darkness, acting more aloof and rebellious.
Then, we see three of the yyxy girls, Chuu, Gowon, and Yves.
Chuu and Gowon are together, holding their hands behind each other’s backs as they turn their heads backwards, while Yves is by herself, in a dance practice room, looking at the sky from a window. Do Chuu and Gowon know something that Yves doesn’t? Are the three of them even in the same place?
Also, an interesting thing we can point out here are the colors of the dresses Chuu and Gowon are wearing. Chuu is in a red dress, and Gowon is in a yellow dress.
What’s so noteworthy about this? Because of the meanings both colors have. Red is a color that often represents love, and yellow, alongside cheerfulness and joy, can also represent hope.
But we just said that Chuu is now representing hope and Gowon is love, so why has it switched back? Could it be that in “+ +”, the two of them didn’t realize what their true representative emotions were until “X X”?
Either way, it’s an interesting point to note. So moving on...
What’s notable is that Yves is wearing all black, a direct contrast from when we first saw her in “new” wearing all white.
We see this dance room again in “To all LOONAs around the world”, and the latest teaser for “So What”, with several other ballerina girls.
At one point, we see them circling someone. Maybe Yves? Perhaps in this timeline, Yves is an outcast because she’s different from everyone; a “black swan”.
Next, from a distance, we see Yeojin standing in the middle of a schoolground as a group of students run in her direction. Why this could be the case, there are several possibilities. Are these students meant to represent the members of LOONA finding Yeojin, or is Yeojin about to start a school uprising?
(My money is on the latter. lol)
However, here is where I would like to propose another theory; Yeojin and Haseul have switched places. In the previous timelines, Yeojin was lost in the forest before being found by Haseul and the other girls.
But now, I think the roles have reversed in this timeline, and now Haseul is the one who is missing. (This could serve as a good in-universe reason as to explain how she won’t be present in this comeback. The 11 members of LOONA need to unite to find her.)
Lastly, we see Heejin and Olivia Hye, on two different sides of the same billboard. Heejin is there in the day, likely her arrival after she fell back into the loop, and Olivia is there at night, the screen turning red as she turns her head back.
Heejin and Olivia have always been mirror opposites of one another; they are literally shown to be “day and night” here. So what will happen when they confront each other in this new timeline?
...
Thus concludes the observations I made for the teasers! Again, since I am still working on my analysis for the “So What” MV, some of these previous observations may be revised when I actually do the analysis proper.
Nonetheless, I hope you look forward to my theories! Until then, keep streaming “So What” and support LOONA however you can! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

LOONAverse timeline theory - Breakdown (Part 1, continued)
Alright, continuing where we left off, it’s time to shift our focus away from Earth and move to Eden for a moment.
Yves’ rebellion
Yves is a resident of Eden, a world that is meant to be an ideal utopia. But Yves herself has begun to question her faith in whether this so-called “perfect” life she has is what she wants.
In Eden, she doesn’t have the freedom to express her true self. She wants to go somewhere where she isn’t restricted by someone else’s rules and do what she wants.
So she finds and eats the Forbidden Fruit, an apple, which has the power to grant wishes in Eden, and wishes for a way to leave Eden.
Her wish creates a special doorway which allows her to leave Eden and travel to Earth.
On Earth, she can cut ties with her past self, the person she pretended to be in Eden, and be who she truly is.
(In her solo video, we see her literally cutting tags with her name.)
Now the question is, where is this doorway?
The forest. The forest that is connected to all three planes in the Moebius; the same forest Yeojin got lost in.
Yves grabbed a frog plushie in the claw machine, which is Yeojin’s representative animal.
This means that the one who lured Yeojin into the forest she got lost in was actually Yves.
But that begs the question, why did Yves do that in the first place?
We’ll talk about that in a bit.
Also, I’ve seen most people say that the next plushie she picks up is an owl, but... To me, it looks more like a penguin, at least, in my opinion. The penguin is Chuu’s representative animal, and we know that Chuu admires Yves. And Yves knows that.
So perhaps this foreshadows when Yves’ influence starts to “grab hold” of the other girls in Eden (Chuu, Gowon, and Olivia), and eventually drives them to leave Eden.
(Update: It was actually shown on LOONA TV to be an owl, so this kinda debunks that part of the theory. 😅 But I plan on talking about what my thoughts are now that I do know it's actually an owl, so look forward to that.)
But I’m getting ahead of myself. (lol)
So what happens next?
Human ViVi’s death
While on Earth, Yves meets ViVi (who is human at this time) in a roller skating rink/bowling alley. And they both have a good time, this genuine connection between them starting to emerge.
However, Yves still has a problem. Her escape from Eden, at the moment, is only temporary. And she knows that she can’t stay outside of Eden forever. Not yet, anyways.
She has to go back, but she makes a promise to ViVi that they will meet again.
However, after they parted ways, ViVi is killed by Olivia, who found her and killed her out of her resentment towards Yves.
How she got there when Yves only just recently fell from Eden is a topic for next chapter.
Unaware of this, Yves meets someone else on Earth.
Choerry?
Well... Yes and no. This is Choerry, but not exactly the same Choerry. Something about her seems different compared to her appearance in the first half of “Love Cherry Motion”.
I know that sounds a little confusing, but I’ll explain what I mean in a later chapter.
In any case, Yves can sense that this girl is able travel to the different planes. And this means, she can help her achieve her goal.
Before returning to Eden, Yves leaves Choerry here with a favor for her to fulfill when she needs it; to help her leave Eden. This time, permanently.
(Okay, I literally just thought of this, but maybe this green tunnel we see in the "Starlight" Cinema Theory clip where Yves and Choerry meet, which is the same tunnel we see Yves walking through in some scenes of "new", is actually supposed to represent the doorway through the forest into the other planes. 😲 Again, this just shows how complex the lore of the LOONAverse is.)
Christmas time and Yeojin’s disappearance
Heejin, Hyunjin, and Haseul are celebrating Christmas together.
While shopping for Christmas presents and waiting to meet Heejin and Hyunjin, Haseul finds Chuu, after she had eaten the Forbidden Fruit to be with Yves and passed out.
Chuu wakes up, not noticing Haseul, and leaves.
While this is going on, Yves starts her first idea in how to escape from Eden. Similar to what happened to Choerry and Hyunjin, she tries to lure someone from Earth to Eden and switch places with them.
But things don’t go as she plans, because Yeojin ends up getting lost in the forest, and stuck between worlds. And I don’t think this was Yves’ intention.
Remember “My Melody”?
Haseul’s shirt has Yves’ color, burgundy. And Yeojin’s has peach, which is Chuu’s color.
I believe Yves was actually trying to lure Haseul into the forest to switch places with her, but ended up attracting Yeojin instead and she failed to reach Eden and got lost.
In fact, both Haseul and Yeojin have some interesting parallels to Yves and Chuu.
Chuu admires Yves, similar to a childish crush, and we know that Yeojin views Haseul as a mother or big sister figure. Chuu and Yeojin both look up to someone close to them.
There seems to also be parallels between Chuu and Yeojin’s respective solo MVs that many have pointed out already.
Not to mention...
In the choreography version of “Kiss Later”, doesn’t Yeojin’s outfit here resemble a strawberry, Chuu’s representative fruit?
There’s clearly some sort of connection here.
So now, Yeojin is missing, and Haseul is affected deeply by her sudden, mysterious disappearance. She tries to go in search for answers as to what happened to her.
While on her search, she comes across what appears to be another version of herself.
This person is a version of Haseul that exists deep inside her heart; they are her shadow. But she has trouble facing it, especially now that Yeojin is gone. She’s scared of facing this other side of herself.
Here, her fight or flight reflexes kick in. Because she’s so focused on finding out the truth about Yeojin’s disappearance, she chooses to reject that other part of herself deep inside her heart, shooting a diamond towards it.
But when she goes to look...
She instead finds a white bird, now dead.
The ice in Haseul’s heart begins to melt, much like the winter snow, and now she’s filled with deep remorse for what she has done.
Again, let’s talk about some of the parallels between Yves and Haseul.
Aside from the fact that their representative animals are both white birds, they are both shown to cut ties with a part of themselves.
For Yves, she chose to reject her past self, as well as the version of herself she pretends to be in Eden, in order to be her true self. This choice was made after she began to question her faith and think for herself and what she truly wants.
But in Haseul’s case, she seems to reject her shadow/deep part of her heart without fully thinking it through. Because she’s so focused on finding Yeojin, she wasn’t thinking clearly, even if she thought she was.
Now that we’ve established that, time to move on.
ViVi’s rebirth and freeing Jinsoul
ViVi is now reborn, as an android girl living in Hong Kong. Some of her memories are missing or have been warped due to her transformation into an android, such as how she died and her meeting with Yves.
One day, she finds Jinsoul, who was trapped in a basement, and frees her.
Because she was trapped for so long, she doesn’t remember who she is (possibly a side effect due to half of Olivia’s heart being inside her?), where she came from, or about her Odd Eye powers. But she knows that she needs to “return home”.
Now let’s go back to “My Sunday” again.
So, how exactly are Heejin and Hyunjin connected to Jinsoul and ViVi?
First, let’s examine Hyunjin’s parallels with ViVi.
Hyunjin was originally from the Cosmos, and had an Odd Eye, meaning she wasn’t a normal human. But after she came to Earth, she lost her Odd Eye powers and her memories, becoming a normal girl.
Meanwhile, ViVi was a normal girl who was killed and turned into an android, and some of her memories as a human are now messed up. We even see in “Love & Live” that ViVi has an “Odd Eye” of her own.
They both went through similar transformations: Hyunjin became a normal girl, while ViVi became an android.
Now, what about Heejin? What’s her connection to Jinsoul?
The answer is actually rather simple... It’s Olivia.
Heejin already has a connection to Olivia because she sensed when she killed ViVi. And going by the reverse order theory, Heejin and Olivia are believed to be mirror counterparts, just like how Hyunjin and Choerry are.
But now, because Jinsoul “swallowed” half of Olivia’s heart, this means Heejin now has a deeper connection to Jinsoul.
The “sin of swallowing the sun” is a recurring line that’s connected to Jinsoul.
Singing in the Rain:
Guilty of swallowing the sun in the afternoon I’m right here, heated up
Egoist:
Hey, for the sin of swallowing you You get bigger and bigger, beautiful you
And guess what Heejin’s first lines were in “Love & Live”.
You get larger in my heart each day My heart grows hotter, like I’m hugging the sun
(^This is the translation in the official music video, but one of the alternate translations that I found translated it as “My heart becomes so hot, like it swallowed the sun”.)
Oh yeah! And also, there’s a special version of Jinsoul’s “Singing in the Rain” music video... where Heejin does the rap!
(Side note though, it was originally supposed to be Kim Lip doing the rap, but Heejin and Haseul also recorded their own version {See LOONA TV #159}, and Heejin’s version ended up being the one that got released, but I still think it holds significance.)
And speaking of “Singing in the Rain”, it’s possible that something else Jinsoul and Heejin might share is the desire to spread color to their world.
Remember the colors Heejin sings of in “ViViD”?
Red, orange, yellow, green...
That always bugged me ever since I first watched the video! I thought, what about blue and purple? Because green can’t be made without blue, so where is it?
It’s Jinsoul.
We see her spreading her blue throughout “Singing in the Rain”.
And again, much of her lyrics connect to her and her color.
I used to be untouchable and dangerous But in one moment, your blue wraps around me
For the sin of swallowing up all the stars in the sky You spread your blue
The air is getting wet from the rain (Getting colored) Hey, the sun inside of us is getting colored, now
Jinsoul’s rain doesn’t just rejuvenate life in the Cosmos. It spreads her color blue, and creates purple when combined with red, Kim Lip’s color.
We’ll talk more about Olivia’s parallels to Heejin, Jinsoul’s reawakening, and “Singing in the rain” in the next coming chapters.
And with that said, that’s the end of Chapter 1! We’ll continue to talk about the meeting and formation of LOONA 1/3 in a later chapter, because in Chapter 2, will be bringing more of Eden’s story to the forefront!

My speculation/theories on LOONA’s next comeback.
Oh boy, oh boy… As we’ve been waiting for LOONA’s next comeback, we’ve had plenty of time to speculate on what the concept for what said comeback will be like. And it seems like the girls are just as excited as us, as they seem to be dropping hints as to what it’s going to be.
We’re going to look at some possibilities based on the hints we’ve been given so far, as well as some speculation as to what else we could see coming from LOONA in the near future.
Flowers and nature
As soon as promotions for “So What” ended, LOONA wasted no time dropping subtle references to flowers and nature, leading many fans to believe their next concept could be flowers or nature related.
References made to flowers:
Chuu participating in King of Masked Singer as “Spring Girl”
Using flowers and nature related emojis (i.e. rainbow) in social media posts
Yves and Chuu Frequency of the Moon topic was “spring”
Heejin being called “a goddess among the flowers” in the post promoting her appearance in Ben’s “Bad” MV (Source)
ViVi, Jinsoul, and Chuu Frequency of the Moon topic was “flower”
Gowon, Yves, and Jinsoul took a photo with a tulip in behind the scenes photos of a magazine shoot (Sources: 1, 2, 3)
Yves posting a photo of her with roses (Source)
Mentioning “blooming” and other flower/nature related phrases
In a post celebrating Choerry and Olivia’s coming of age: “Things will get better with that rose” (Source)
Yves mentioning flowers blooming in different seasons in her fancafe letter on her birthday and saying she’ll bloom more vibrantly each year (Source)
Kim Lip saying “keep walking flower paths only with us” in her Orbit 2.0 anniversary fancafe letter (Source)
Gowon saying “photosynthesis time” (Source)
We’ve already had it all but officially confirmed that LOONA’s upcoming comeback is happening in August (Yves told Nature they were planning on an August comeback during filming on Fact in Star back in June.) (Source)
With it being the summer season, I could see them either doing a bright, fun concept with an energetic sound, or they could go for a dreamy concept with beautiful visuals and emotional vocals.
Royalty and elegance
Another concept the group has been dropping hints about is a royal concept.
Firstly, we’ve been seeing several recent instances of the girls wearing these fancy black dresses.
These outfits were first seen during promotion for the group’s premier greeting “Meet & Up” event. Since then, we’ve seen them on the official Japanese fan club website, the post commemorating one million subscribers on Youtube (Source), the celebration of Orbits’ 2nd anniversary (Source), and even during LOONA the TAM Season 2.
There’s also their official light stick, which is designed like a crown.
Not only that, but they come with a golden cape that you can wear. We also got a photo of the girls in these capes and white dresses in what appear to be a palace.
There’s also their cover performance of “Love Battery” on Immortal Songs 2, which took a very jazzy and theatrical spin on the song, adding their own LOONA flair to it. The members have stated in the past (Yves specifically I believe) that their covers were hints to their next comeback, since their boy group dance covers prior to the release of [#] hinted at the style “So What” would be like.
This could just be a general group concept rather than just a comeback concept, but if they do go for a royal or elegant concept, there’s honestly a bunch of possibilities for what it could sound like. It could range from an elegant, ethereal vibe, a fun yet powerful dance number, a big band jazzy style song, or even a pop-ballad.
And speaking of ballad…
Return of LOONA the Ballad?
It has been over half a year since it was announced that LOONA the Ballad, or La Maison LOONA, a ballad album that had been teased since 2018 was cancelled. I only very recently became an Orbit, but was nonetheless disappointed when I heard an entire album they had planned to release had been scrapped for release.
...Or was it? Because recently, the girls have been hinting that maybe LOONA the Ballad isn’t completely gone.
Now I’m not sure whether this is true or not, but supposedly during a fansign event, a fan asked Chuu if there was a possibility that the album could still be released, and she just smiled and said “Soon!”
But then we had the moment during Yves’ birthday VLive where we heard what sounded like a snippet of “Stay with me babe (aka “Hyper Ballad”)” playing. (Source)
If BBC didn’t have backup files for the original planned album, there’s probably a chance they had to re-record the album altogether. It might even be possible they’re going to repurpose the songs they planned to release on LOONA the Ballad for something entirely new.
Japanese debut?
LOONA’s Japanese debut was another delayed project I learned about after becoming a fan. And since we recently got the launch of their official Japanese fan club, I think they have had plans on releasing their Japanese debut soon.
Now, these plans might have changed with what’s going on in the world right now, but I think it’s possible that we will get more news regarding this some time this year.
The only question is, what would they do? Would the royalty concept be utilized here while the Korean comeback focuses on the floral/nature concept? Could it be possible that the tracks that were meant to be for LOONA the Ballad were repurposed to become a Japanese release? Will the Japanese debut be a new song or just a translated version of a song they already released like “Hi High” or “Butterfly”?
Again, there’s several possibilities and until we hear more from the staff or the girls themselves, we’ll just have to wait and see.
“Day and Night” official release?
This is something I’ve been curious about for a while. We’ve gotten hints that we’re going to get something related to “Day and Night”, the hidden track released on the CD only version of [#].
Digipedi posted a video on their Instagram of them listening to “Day and Night” in the car. Now, this can simply be that they really like the song and nothing more. But what if it means there’s a music video for “Day and Night”?
Also, in a LOONA Kick where Olivia was filming herself with a moon face filter, we hear the girls singing “Day and Night” in the background. (Source)
Personally, I thought this meant they would be performing “Day and Night” at KCON:TACT 2020, but that ended up not being the case. Still, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll actually get to see a performance of it in the future, or at least a dance practice video.
I also wonder if they would do an official release of the song, either as a digital single or have it included as an official track if they decide to do a repackage of [#] for the next comeback. Whatever the case, it feels like the girls are planning something related to it.
What will the album be called?
Aside from the concept and sound of the comeback, one of the big things fans have speculated on is what the name of the album is going to be. The album names for the OT12 releases have had significant meanings; [+ +] is about how the girls and units combine into the full group (addition), [X X] is about that power being amplified (multiplication), and [#] is about realizing their strengths and what they can accomplish when they are together.
The most common guesses I’ve seen for the album title are [*] and [O]. Before I give my thoughts on which one it could be, let’s look at what each of the symbols could mean if used.
First, we have the asterisk symbol (*). This symbol is used to call attention to a footnote, indicate an omission, point to disclaimers, and dress up company logos. Basically, it’s meant to draw attention to an otherwise minor detail.
This seems to match up with LOONA as a group, as the girls always work their hardest to perfect even the slightest details of their dancing or singing in order to put out a quality performance for their fans. And in the context of the LOONAverse, it could mean that even the smallest detail can become significant.
The symbol has also been pointed out to resemble a star or flower. If they really are going with a flower concept, it would be a clever choice if they went with this.
Now for the “O”. This isn’t really a symbol; it’s a letter. But there are quite a few reasons why it can become a meaningful symbol should they name the album [O].
Firstly, most frankly, the letter “O” resembles a full moon, and we know LOONA is all about the moon.
Secondly, in “So What” there’s a line that references the “O or X” in tic-tac-toe. One way fans have interpreted that line is that it’s them talking about how most girl groups in K-pop fall into either a cute concept or a girl crush concept, and the song as a whole is about not being restricted by anyone or anything.
We’ve already had the “X” in [X X], so it would make sense if they did “O” next.
Also, if you replace the “#” in “B#RN” with an “O”, it becomes “BORN”, which plays into the idea that the next concept could be about rebirth. Again, this would fit into the flower concept as flowers always bloom again as the seasons come and go.
I already theorized that [#] and “So What” would be about the destruction and rebirth of LOONA and the LOONAverse, so maybe the next comeback will continue from that.
“So What” was specifically about the “destruction” part of this; the girls are breaking out from their old image and everything that held them back. Olivia quite literally sets the moon on fire to symbolize this action. And at the end, we see the bird feathers being revived after being burnt.
So this next comeback could possibly focus on the “rebirth” part, showing just how much stronger LOONA have become as a whole.
As for which one I think the title of the album would be, I’m leaning more towards the asterisk symbol, since it lines itself up with the potential flower/nature concept and the meaning and usage of the symbol can become significant to LOONA when put in the right context.
My thoughts
As of right now, it feels like a flower/nature concept focused on rebirth is most likely what we’re going to get. Sound-wise, if their cover of “Love Battery” really is a hint for what the song will be like, I could totally see it working with LOONA.
However, if they are in fact repurposing the LOONA the Ballad tracks for a new comeback, I could see them actually using both the flower and royal concepts. In my mind, “Daydream” would be the flower/nature concept with an ethereal dreamlike look and feel, while “Stay with me babe” would be the royal/elegant concept and be more mature. Not straight up sexy, but more like an alluring feel.
I also think it’s possible that they would use the royal concept for their Japanese debut, with a new style that’s not something we’ve seen in their previous releases but also feels familiar to LOONA’s overall concept and style.
Also, while I don’t think they plan on doing this for their next comeback, I think it would be nice to see the group do solos and units again. Not just for pre-existing units, but new units as well. The members have talked about the possibility of them doing new units in the past, and fans have speculated on things such as the “day and night” units (which are basically the tall line and short line lol), but we don’t know if those plans were also postponed or cancelled.
With everything that’s going on in the world, we may not know just yet, so for now it’s all a matter of if and when. Regardless, I’m so excited for what this next concept will be like.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this discussion! Feel free to share your own thoughts on what you think the comeback will be like!
Until then... Stan LOONA! 🌙💖

LOONA theory - What was Haseul’s fate?
Okay, so I felt kinda bad about this, but when I was discussing my analysis on the # teasers leading up to “So What”, I briefly mentioned that there was something in “Rain 51db” that originally, I planned to bring up in the “So What” analysis, but forgot to. 😂
However, I decided to discuss it here, because Haseul’s character and story in the LOONAverse is one full of mystery. And I believe that she has a tragic fate that the other members are trying to save her from.
So let’s dive a little bit deeper into Haseul’s story arc and see what’s happening.
Rain 51db
Okay, so at the start of the music video for “Rain 51db”, we are shown small clips of the 1/3 members’ music videos:
Hyunjin’s “Around You”, where she’s showing the letters to the cat...
1/3′s “Love & Live”, with Heejin starting to sprint...
Haseul’s “Let Me In”, where we see bird Haseul, as well as the crashed plane...
ViVi’s “Everyday I Love You”, with her at the counter of the skating rink she works at...
And finally Heejin’s “ViViD”, where we see Heejin in the yellow suit (I believe this to be Heejin’s shadow/dream counterpart)...
But did you notice that on top of the fact that we see bird Haseul instead of Haseul herself, that “Let Me In” wasn’t actually playing in the clip?
All the other clips did, but not Haseul’s. We just heard the sound of wind blowing.
But why are we seeing this and why don’t we hear “Let Me In”?
Well, let’s remember what we’ve been associating the VHS static overlay as: when we see something with a static overlay, it’s a memory from one of the members, whether from a waking experience or a memory from a dream.
In the case of the clip for Hyunjin with the letters, Heejin sprinting on the track, and ViVi in the skating rink, they are memories from their waking life. But Heejin’s “ViViD” is, for the majority of the video, a dream in Heejin’s mind. She was imagining herself in a more luxurious life and world full of vibrant colors.
So, what does this mean for Haseul’s clip and “Let Me In”?
Well, I believe that what we see occur in “Let Me In” is actually all a dream in Haseul’s mind, much like “ViViD” was for Heejin. And the fact that what we see in the clip is Haseul’s shadow self, along with the broken down plane, and don’t hear the actual song, must mean that she’s haunted by this dream. For Haseul, what she saw in her dreams was akin to a nightmare.
Now that we’ve re-established this connection, let’s re-examine what we see happen in “Let Me In” in the context of it being a dream.
Let Me In
So, we already established that after “The Carol”, Yeojin went missing and Haseul went in search of her. But maybe when we see her arrive at the black sand beach in Iceland, she wasn’t actually there; she was only dreaming.
Let’s say that Haseul’s mind traveled to the dream world on the opposite side of the Moebius, since her thoughts were focused solely on finding Yeojin, and we see her shadow/dream counterpart appear.
The first time we see Haseul, she is sitting in the passenger's seat of the truck. She’s being taken into the dream world.
When she opens her eyes, the truck is driving itself and brings Haseul to the trail of diamonds. Most likely, these were left by shadow Haseul for the real Haseul to guide her to their location.
As she follows the diamond trail, she goes from a green meadow to a frozen terrain covered in ice.
Then, she arrives at the sight of the plane crash, where she sees bird Haseul.
As she follows after them, she sees paper airplanes on the ground, as well as white bird feathers.
When she finally reaches bird Haseul, she takes one of the diamonds and shoots them down.
But when she gets closer, she sees she actually killed a white bird. It’s raining when this happens, so the snow and ice have melted.
So, in this dream, Haseul was confronted by her dream self, her shadow; the part of herself that exists deep within her heart. But because she was focused on trying to find Yeojin, she made the hasty decision of rejecting that part of herself, which she regretted doing once she realized it wasn’t real.
I decided to do a bit of research on dream interpretation to see if there were any hidden meanings from what we see in the music video.
Keep in mind: These interpretations are just one way of analyzing these symbols; there’s a chance they could all mean something completely different in Korean culture/Asian culture.
Birds – Generally birds are a positive symbol that show us peace, freedom, harmony, balance, ideas, joy and love. Keep in mind the meaning of the dream can alter depending on the type, color, condition, number and your location of the dream. Dreaming of birds inspires us to expand our consciousness to reach new heights. These lovely messengers emerge in our dreams to encourage us to broaden our horizons, live more freely and release our fears.
Dove – A dove is a very important dream symbol because it represents strength and tranquility. Doves tend to serve a very important symbol in your dream because it might be sending you a message from another realm. If you see a dove soaring high in the air flying, you will break free from any burdens you are experiencing in your life.
(Although Haseul’s representative white bird has no specified species, it, as well as bird Haseul here, is often interpreted as being a dove, so I went ahead and put the notes here.)
Feather – If you dream of a feather, it means you need to ease up a bit. Stop being so harsh with things and enjoy life for a bit. If you dream of bird or chicken feathers it indicates you want to get away from a situation which is causing you to be agitated.
(We already know this scene represents Haseul rejecting her shadow, so I decided not to include any analysis on dreams about shooting or being shot.)
Shooting Birds – You might be shooting down things in your life that are needed.
Dead Bird – Noticing a dead bird in your dream suggests issues taking off in your life.
Car dreams – Cars are very common yet highly symbolic dream symbols that connect you to personal transformation and current life movements. Essentially the road you drive on is metaphoric to your current path or what's ahead of you in the future. The image of the car is a manifestation of your mental and physical self that has been built up as you move along your life’s journey.
(…)
More than often people who dream of cars will notice the road they drive on. A possible manifestation of what is currently ahead of you is predicted in your dream, classifying as a precognitive dream foretelling events to come. The condition of the road provides you with clues that can either predict troubles or smooth sailing ahead.
(...)
Dreaming of being a passenger or riding in the back seat suggests not being in control of your path, or connecting you with the drives of others.
Truck – Trucks, like cars, are a means of transportation signifying from one place to another. It suggests you might be carrying a bigger load along your path in life.
Diamond – Like in your waking life, diamonds are symbolic of commitment and wealth and sometimes pride. If you receive a diamond ring or piece of jewelry it means you are ready for commitment but if the diamonds are loose it means you are not ready or you are going to be facing some difficulties in your relationship or even finances. If you are pretending you have diamonds in your dream when in fact they are false it means you are not being yourself in reality.
Ice – Ice is frozen water and so dreaming of ice symbolizes frozen emotions, your emotions have not changed towards something or someone. Dreaming of walking on ice signifies you are in control of your emotions, but you feel that any moment you are going to fall in. It could also mean that you are emotionally stable at the moment. You need to be cautious and not wear your emotions on your sleeve.
Snow – Dreaming of snow can be very symbolic, however the meaning of the dream alters depending on the contexts of the dream.
(...)
Traditionally, snow represents winter and the end of the growing season. During this season the top layers of the soil are completely frozen, no new growth can penetrate the surface.
(...)
Snow brings our awareness to the ending or death of the growing time in your life. As spring stems new growth and summer is vibrate with life, winter brings endings and hardships.
(...)
The saying goes “when the snow melts, we will find out what's beneath”. Snow might emerge to make you explore what you could be covering up or concealing in your life. The snow masks what is really underneath or shown to others; this is emotionally blocked by you.
Rain – The meaning of rain can alter depending on the context and mood of the dream. It could signify possible renewal, devotion, love, rebirth, renewal compassion. However the flip side could be connected with depression, sadness and emotions that are built up. In a biblical sense it might come as a metaphor for ‘washing away your sins’ or the saying ‘April showers bring May flowers’. Pouring rain might be a build up of unconscious emotions that signify a release that has taken place.
Broken airplane – If you had a dream about remains of a plane crash, then this dream represents a warning sign that you should try working on your own for a change instead of seeking help from others. Maybe you are getting too reliant on others and this won’t be good for you.
Paper airplane – To dream of a paper airplane means emotions about yourself diverting creative ability (...) Dreaming with a paper plane means your negligible interests. You are squandering time with thoughts that go no place.
...
Now let’s use what we can gather from this research and apply it to what we see in “Let Me In”.
Firstly, Haseul is sitting in the passenger’s seat as the truck drives itself to her destination, meaning she is being brought to this place not by her own conviction, and that she is carrying a lot of heavy feelings with her.
The diamonds she gathers from the trail left by bird Haseul could possibly represent a false ideal that she is cultivating by gathering them.
When she gets ready to shoot one of the diamonds at bird Haseul, she drops some of the diamonds, which could mean she may face hardships in her relationships or friendships with others (maybe the other members?)
The green meadow she is in still has snow covering the surface, which could symbolize her true feelings that Haseul is masking through a cold demeanor. The ice furthers this notice, as well as the fact that despite her trying to keep a cool composure, her heart is still fragile and she feels she could become vulnerable if she lets her emotions get the better of her.
The paper airplanes were a bit hard to decipher at first, but I believe they could represent all of Haseul’s other thoughts that she is letting go of while on her search; she’s trying to find Yeojin, as well as the person who set out the diamond trail for her, and is focused solely on finding answers to that.
The crashed airplane remains have two meanings here; one is that it represents Haseul’s heart, and two is that it’s a subconscious warning of her own codependence on Yeojin.
She’s always been with Yeojin; she was the one who made her feel the happiest. But now that she’s missing, she feels lost and doesn’t feel like she can turn to Heejin and Hyunjin for help, which is why she took this journey by herself.
As she follows bird Haseul, it starts to rain. I think in this context, it’s representing her sadness and all her suppressed emotions starting to spill out. The ice in her heart is melting away and making her become more vulnerable. The feathers are proof of this as well, both as a sign that she is agitated and that she needs to stop suppressing her emotions.
Finally, when she finds bird Haseul, she shoots it with one of the diamonds. The fact that her shadow/dream counterpart is represented as a bird shows that Haseul’s hasty decision to reject this part of herself will have negative consequences. The dead bird she finds after shooting her shadow is a sign that she will face more difficulties following this.
I’d say this dream definitely left an impact on Haseul’s mental and emotional state, especially since she did quite literally shoot down another version of herself.
This is also reflected in the lyrics, as they show that she is starting to go through an identity crisis.
The moon rises I eventually become you We, so different us two My heart Get colored with you ...
When I wake up from this dream in the long night Will I be you? Or will you be me? ...
Looking more like you Becoming more used to you ...
Her shadow was an ideal of who she wanted to be; someone who was emotionally calm and composed, who could handle any hardships with a stoic expression, and someone who was at peace with herself.
But it was too perfect and idealized; Haseul herself is not perfect.
Maybe she was angry at herself for not being able to match this ideal in her head, which is why she shot down the bird version of herself. She wanted to become this false image that wasn’t true to who she was.
This is why she sings, “Will I be you? Or will you be me?” She’s lost herself in wanting to embody this idealized self.
Haseul’s fate
So why did Haseul have this dream in the first place? Why did her shadow/mirror side counterpart call her to the dream world? I think she was trying to send Haseul a warning regarding her fate in the Moebius loop, but failed to because Haseul rejected them.
We know that the Moebius loop has trapped the girls in an endless cycle of inner turmoil, making them constantly relive painful experiences over and over. So what if what Haseul saw in the dream world was foretelling of Haseul’s fate that the time loop bound her to?
What if in every timeline, Haseul’s destination was always a path towards ruin? That an inevitable catastrophe would fall upon her, and she was forced to go through it again and again in the Moebius. And that when she rejected her shadow in the dream world, that was what seals her fate?
This was what Gowon went back in time to do in the [X X] timeline, and most likely what Olivia did in “So What” was for the same purpose; to save Haseul from ruin.
Gowon went to the dream world and mended Haseul’s connection to her shadow, while Olivia destroyed the Moebius loop before it could be completed and solidify Haseul’s fate.
And now that she’s been saved, the only thing left for the girls to do is find her.
I can’t wait to see how Haseul’s character arc will progress when she returns. And I hope you guys enjoyed this latest theory of mine!
I actually really enjoyed going through and researching dream analysis and dream interpretation for this theory, so let me know if you guys are interested in seeing more for some of the other MVs. I actually think there are more instances of LOONA’s lore where dream analysis can be applied and it could lead to interesting discussion!
Until then, see you guys later! #WeLoveHaseul #AlwaysWithHaseul 💚🕊

LOONAverse timeline theory - Breakdown (Part 2)
So, we’ve met Yves and established the start of her rebellion against Eden, so now it’s time to see how her actions begin to influence the other Eden girls and how they connect the past and the present.
...
Chapter 2 - Eden, together
Yves lives in a boarding school with three other girls in Eden; Chuu, Gowon, and Olivia. Much like the rest of Eden, it’s meant to be an ideal utopia where they are raised to be perfect girls, and their behavior is constantly monitored.
Yves starts to rebel against Eden and the school because she wants to express who she truly is. And this catches the attention of the one who watches her closer than anyone else.
Chuu, the lover
As I said in the last chapter, Chuu deeply admires Yves, often watching her from afar and copying what she does to be like her.
While it’s stated her admiration for Yves is more similar to a childish crush, I wouldn’t consider it a stretch to say that Chuu is in love with Yves, as she constantly pines for her attention.
And Yves is *very* aware of the fact that Chuu is in love with her and seeking her attention. Even if she pretends to be oblivious, she just knows that Chuu is watching, because she knows full well she has captured her heart.
But after her fall from Eden, the only thing on Yves’ mind is how she can get out of Eden. She doesn’t accept Chuu’s offering of the green apple (which is meant to be Chuu’s heart/feelings for Yves), because Chuu hasn’t made the choice to leave Eden.
On Christmas Eve (*snickers*), Yves sneaks down to Earth again to enjoy Christmas out of Eden.
(Hehe, maybe this is when “The Carol 2.0″ takes place. x3)
Chuu is lonely, and missing Yves.
So when she finds out about the doorway outside of Eden in the forest, she sneaks out of the boarding school and goes to Earth to find Yves herself.
But because she’s still a resident of Eden and hasn’t eaten the Forbidden Fruit, even when she finds her, she can’t be with her.
As long as she stays in Eden, she can’t be with Yves. That’s the conclusion Chuu comes to.
So, in an act of desperation, she eats the Forbidden Fruit to grant her wish; for her and Yves to be together.
(Her green apple that represented her heart turns into the red Forbidden Fruit.)
She passes out, most likely not being used to the cold winter as Eden seems to be in an eternal spring, but is woken up later by Haseul.
But she doesn’t see Haseul. The only person on her mind is Yves.
She doesn’t immediately realize it, but she was practically reborn upon eating the Forbidden Fruit. She’s now fallen from Eden.
And much to her joy, her wish to be with Yves has been granted.
Because now, Yves can return Chuu’s affection.
And look, there’s a duck/baby swan and penguin plushie in the window, side by side! (So cute. uwu)
It’s been pointed out by other LOONA theorists that Chuu’s video shows parallels to the story of the Little Match Girl, whose story ends when she dies after her matches grants her visions of her late grandmother.
While I, too, can see the visions of her and Yves celebrating Christmas together were granted to her by eating the Forbidden Fruit before her “death”/rebirth, I also believe that they actually do happen later since Yves accepts her after rejecting Eden.
So now, Yves and Chuu have fallen from Eden, which leads us to...
Gowon, the butterfly
Now it’s time to turn our focus to our butterfly girl, Gowon.
Gowon herself is a very reclusive girl. Her heart is usually a locked door, and she only lets in someone she fully trusts. That being said, even though she resides in the boarding school with three other girls, she isn’t really close with them (except for maybe one, but we’ll talk about her later. 😉)
Let’s also note that the chandelier hanging above her head is a recurring motif for her video. It looks almost like a crown.
We also have these shadow girls, the one in the center being Gowon’s shadow.
Gowon’s shadow appears frequently in her video, alongside the “shadow and light” motif, and is representing Gowon’s true self, a reflection of her heart and who she wants to become. She just doesn’t realize it at the moment.
A door is opening... Someone is invading Gowon’s heart, but who is it?
Why none other than our friendly fruit bat, Choerry. Upside-down, no less.
But again, like her appearance in the “Starlight” Cinema Theory clip, something seems different about her.
Here’s what she looks like when you turn this shot right side up and zoom in.
(This was shown in Daebak Jjang’s breakdown of “One&Only” on Youtube, so sorry this isn’t high quality.)
Fitting for the darker concept in yyxy/Eden, Choerry’s expression and outfit here is a lot different from the more summer-y, cool girl concept we usually see from OEC.
But remember what I said when she appeared in “Starlight” and met Yves?
This isn’t the same Choerry we saw back in the first part of “Love Cherry Motion” with Haseul and Yeojin; it’s a different Choerry.
Who this Choerry is will come into light later. But first...
She has the Forbidden Fruit.
The same one she received from Yves.
She’s come to Eden to fulfill her “favor” to Yves, and help her escape Eden.
And now we begin to see Yves and Chuu’s shadowy figures stalking Gowon. This and Choerry dropping the apple shows that the idea of leaving Eden has been planted in Gowon’s mind. However...
Gowon is running away from them.
While it may be tempting, the thought of leaving Eden still scares her. She continues to hide in the darkness, secluding her heart and refusing to open up to them.
But while Yves isn’t able to convince Gowon to leave yet, she has planted the seeds for what’s to come next.
The chandeliers above her head are now lit up, meaning she is now becoming enlightened of her true self. Just like Yves, she’s beginning to think for herself and what she wants.
Deep down, Gowon wants to be loved and love herself, yet she often feels small and insignificant. She wants to be happy and feel accepted by her own self, so that she can be accepted and loved by everyone else.
Gowon’s shadow, her deepest, truest self reflected in her heart, wants to be adored and loved like a princess.
Gowon wants to be her own beloved princess, and love herself.
And she realizes she doesn’t need to stay in Eden for that to happen.
I don’t need no garden of Eden
All she needs to do is...
Accept and embrace every part of herself. Even her shadow.
Thus she begins her metamorphosis.
And when she emerges from her cocoon, she takes it upon herself, not as a request from anyone else, to make the decision to leave Eden.
And so she eats...
NOT the Forbidden Fruit, but a pineapple, her representative fruit.
(^Keep that in mind for later.)
Eating the pineapple means she recognizes herself as something precious, like royalty. It’s the final step in her metamorphosis to becoming her truest self.
Behold, a Gowon reborn as the beautiful butterfly she was always meant to be.
And Yves immediately takes notice of this. Gowon is a changed girl, who now wishes to leave Eden and love herself more than anyone else.
Thus, Yves welcomes her with open arms, recognizing Gowon for the princess that she is.
Gowon’s bracelet, and... Kim Lip?
Okay, so remember this clip from Yves’ “new”?
And how I said that I personally thought this was a penguin plushie, while everyone else said it was an owl?
Well, like many things that came to me as I was further analyzing the lore and discography in LOONA and the LOONAverse, I began to piece together some clues that help me see Kim Lip has a deeper connection to the Eden girls than I originally believed.
Let’s talk about the “SeeSaw” Cinema Theory clip.
Chuu and Gowon are seen making a bracelet while singing the title song.
What’s significant about the song, other than that it’s a Chuu and Gowon duet (and a good song, much like much of LOONA’s discography. lol)?
Kim Lip has two lines in it. Just two lines.
It’s been a long long day Maybe today’s just a day I’ve had too much coffee
The lines themselves aren’t that significant, but what bugged me was, why is Kim Lip even included as a feature if she only sang two lines?
Well, look what’s going on in the Cinema Theory clip. Chuu and Gowon are making a bracelet.
And as stated in Chapter 1 of my breakdown, this bracelet was sent to Hyunjin in the Cosmos.
In fact, Gowon seems to be connected to Hyunjin. There’s even a cat in her solo video.
And did you notice there were several shots in the first half of “Around You” that looked like they were coming from a cat’s perspective?
Hyunjin even approached a cat outside her house with the letters she wrote on Earth.
Gowon sent this cat to bring her bracelet to Hyunjin as a message. There’s even a brief moment where we see Gowon through the cat’s perspective, just like in Hyunjin’s video.
But then that leaves one question... Why did Gowon even send that bracelet to Hyunjin?
The answer... is Kim Lip.
Kim Lip has been searching for Choerry and Jinsoul in the Cosmos, all by herself, without her Odd Eye or super speed.
Then, she finds the doorway in the forest that leads her to Eden. I believe that Kim Lip met Gowon and asked for her help to find her missing friends. She told her about Hyunjin, and Gowon decides to help and try to reach her.
But this is where things get more interesting.
Because Gowon did succeed in reaching Hyunjin. But the bracelet didn’t go to Hyunjin, the normal girl living on Earth with no memory of her former home.
It went to Hyunjin, the girl who was living in the Cosmos, searching for evidence that there are other worlds outside her home.
In other words, Hyunjin in the past.
Kim Lip’s request to Gowon is what lead Hyunjin to leave the Cosmos. It’s like a time loop.
Then, Kim Lip returns to the Cosmos, to continue her search for Choerry and Jinsoul.
And once again, this chapter will be a two parter, so look forward to Part 2 of Chapter 2!

LOONAverse timeline theory - Breakdown (Part 4)
Alright, we’ve almost completed all three subunits! Now that yyxy and 1/3 have been formed, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for!
...
Chapter 4 - Odd Eye Circle
The new Odd Eye Circle
Kim Lip is still wandering the Cosmos alone in search of Choerry and Jinsoul.
Choerry is lost and doesn’t have control of her still latent Odd Eye powers. She’s been having dreams of her life back on Earth, but she hasn’t fully regained her memory yet.
Jinsoul, still on Earth, has been starting to feel her Odd Eye slowly awakening, but she can’t understand what it is because her memories are still foggy.
She feels a constant pain in her left eye, so she goes to an eye doctor.
Kim Lip and Choerry have also been feeling their Odd Eyes bothering them, meaning they can feel each other’s presence close by.
Choerry has no idea what her true power is. But sometimes, she’ll hear this voice calling to her, as if trying to guide her.
It’s her shadow; her mirror self.
Now this looks familiar. 🤔
Yup, it’s just like when Gowon united with and accepted her own shadow, beginning her metamorphosis to love herself.
Remember how I’ve pointed out Choerry’s appearances in the yyxy’s videos don’t seem to match her appearances in OEC’s videos?
(Choerry in “Love Cherry Motion”.)
(Choerry in the Cinema Theory clip “Starlight”.)
(Her appearance in Gowon’s “One&Only”, zoomed in and flipped right-side up for convenience.)
That’s because that Choerry we were seeing was actually her shadow, mirror Choerry. Just like Gowon’s shadow, she’s able to act on her own, but is still deeply connected to the real Choerry.
She is Choerry’s deepest, truest self; a *literal* reflection of her heart.
And she’s been trying to reach her so she can awaken her Odd Eye powers.
OK, now back to Jinsoul.
While on the train, someone pulls Jinsoul’s earbud out. But, the thing is, she’s the only one on the train, so who could’ve done it?
It’s actually Olivia, since half of her heart is within Jinsoul, calling out to her to remind her of who she really is.
She looks at the blue betta fish she’s been carrying with her. The fish was actually holding Jinsoul’s Odd Eye powers, like a locked box keeping them safe.
But we see several shots of the same fish slowly dying in Jinsoul’s hands.
Now she most likely found it in the aquarium where Haseul took ViVi, as we do see her there in ViVi’s Letter to Hong Kong...
But I believe either one of two things happened.
1. Her fish was dying and she reawakened her Odd Eye so she could save it.
Or
2. She killed the fish herself so she could unlock her Odd Eye.
Personally, I lean more towards the first option due to what comes next in “Singing in the Rain”, but either way, the fish plays is a key part in reawakening Jinsoul’s powers.
So, when she hears Olivia’s voice and looks at her fish, suddenly, a rush of memories come back to her.
Her Odd Eye has reawakened. Now she knows who she is and where she needs to be.
At the exact same time, Kim Lip and Choerry pass by one another.
And just like that, something is awakened.
Color is restored to the Cosmos as Kim Lip’s Odd Eye reawakens, and she pursues Choerry.
(Again, similar to Jinsoul and static, notice that when Kim Lip starts running after Choerry after her Odd Eye awakening, a neon sign starts letting off sparks, possibly reacting to the sudden, combined resurgence of Kim Lip and Choerry’s powers.)
Choerry hears the sound of her mirror self calling her, now more loud and clear than before, and decides to follow it, trusting her heart.
Jinsoul goes to find her way back to her home, the Cosmos, and reunite with Kim Lip.
And Kim Lip goes to a certain location to reignite her full power and start the rebirth and rejuvenation of the Cosmos.
Rebirth, rejuvenation, reawakening
Kim Lip arrives at what appears to be a sacred ground. There’s a supernatural energy surrounding her as she walks to the center of the temple.
Here, she initiates a ritual to create an eclipse which serves as the catalyst for the rebirth of the Cosmos and Odd Eye Circle.
As she dances, she is able to reconnect with the source of her power; her moon. And when the darkness of the eclipse envelopes her, she connects with her shadow, the deepest part of her heart, to strengthen her power.
She has been reborn, like her home, renewed and stronger than before. And ready to find her fellow Odd Eye girls.
After finishing the ritual, she goes to find Choerry.
Meanwhile, Jinsoul has found a way to return to the Cosmos, bringing her now revived blue betta fish to a secret place.
I believe this place holds doorways and paths to other worlds and timelines, and that she is looking to free the betta fish now that it has given back her power.
But the blue betta is more than just that; it’s also her past self, and she’s going to return her past self to her original timeline, before Olivia trapped her in the basement on Earth.
We see her dye the timeline/world with her color before she places the betta fish into the tank. She’s relinquished her old image so she may be reborn, as well.
Speaking of Olivia...
We see that she’s still inside Jinsoul, her voice whispering to her as if to help guide her.
Jinsoul’s official color is royal blue, which when divided up is blue as her official color, and black as her secondary official color.
Olivia’s heart inside Jinsoul has helped her to reconnect with her shadow. Unlike what happened to Olivia, though, she isn’t taken over by dark emotions.
Instead, she finds a balance to where she doesn’t lose herself to her deepest desires.
And just like she frees her fish, she is able to find her way back home to the Cosmos, where she belongs.
We see Jinsoul’s past self, the blue betta fish, swimming through the darkness to return to their timeline.
And the present Jinsoul, having brought the rain which returns her to her home, and rejuvenates life in the Cosmos after her long absence.
Lastly, we have Choerry.
She hears a voice call her once again. But instead of her shadow, it’s someone else.
Maybe it’s Kim Lip or Jinsoul, looking for her.
Well, we see Kim Lip has found her, and is trying to draw her in her direction using a mirror, the same way she did with Haseul and Yeojin back on Earth.
So Choerry follows her and ends up in a field that has 12 mirrors surrounding the area in a specific pattern.
And in one of the mirrors, she sees her mirror self; her shadow.
This version of Choerry exists in the mirror world/dream dimension, another part of the LOONAverse where the shadows of the girls reside.
But through the mirrors, which can act as portals from the mirror world to the real world, Choerry’s shadow is able to observe the world through the real Choerry’s eyes.
However, there is more that has yet to be awakened. Mirror Choerry knows the true power her Odd Eye holds, so she gives a cherry to the real Choerry to restore her memories and fully awaken her Odd Eye.
Just like before, she passes out, but then when she opens her eyes...
She finds herself looking through the eyes of her reflection, in the mirror world on the other side of the Moebius strip.
Then, when she returns to her real body in the Cosmos, the world around her has changed, dyed in the color of her Odd Eye moon; purple.
And now, her memories of home have returned to her, and she knows what her role in the new Odd Eye Circle is; find Kim Lip and Jinsoul, unite the Odd Eye moons into one, and then, reunite with her friends.
She runs out of the field, looking up to the sky to see the three Odd Eye moons shining above.
The newest member of the Odd Eye Circle has finally awakened.
Before we move onto “Girl Front”, let’s take a moment to discuss an interesting theme that Odd Eye Circle has in the story of the LOONAverse.
We already know that the world the girls live in exists on a Moebius strip, and that the Cosmos is directly in the middle of Earth, where 1/3 resides, and Eden, where yyxy used to reside.
And it’s already been established that Eden is a darker reflection of Earth.
1/3 represents the light, the innocence of first love. They were normal girls, unaware of the truth about their world.
yyxy represents the darkness, youth and the ego, and self love. They’re exact opposites of the 1/3 girls, each Eden girl showing to have parallels or connections to each 1/3 member.
So what about Odd Eye Circle?
They exist in the “bend” in the Moebius strip, the part that’s twisted to create the strip’s odd (*snickers*) shape.
This means Odd Eye Circle and the Cosmos exists in a plane where there is a harmonious balance between light and darkness, like Yin and Yang.
So I believe that Odd Eye Circle’s theme is duality.
As we can see from each Odd Eye girl’s solo video, we’re shown moments of where they become connected to their shadows. And it holds a lot of significance for the roles they are given in the LOONAverse.
Kim Lip represents the moon, which has a light side, what we are able to see, and a “dark side”, which we cannot. And the eclipse is when the sun and moon overlap one another.
Plus, the moon has phases. It disappears in the shadows for a while, but then it comes back to shine its light.
Jinsoul’s connection to her shadow is shown in a very complex way. We’ve already established she has a connection to both Olivia, who fell from Eden and gave into her inner darkness, and Heejin, who, alongside her friends, carry light and hope within them to unite everyone and free them from the time loop.
This is, quite frankly, Jinsoul having both an angel (Heejin) and a devil (Olivia) on each of her shoulders. And it’s that balance in her that prevents her from surrendering to that darkness inside her heart.
Choerry’s symbolism is pretty obvious, what with the mirrors and such (even her Odd Eye is on the opposite side of her face, appearing in her right eye compared to Kim Lip and Jinsoul’s left eyes).
We see both the lighter, summer-y, fun cool girl Choerry, as well as a darker, more serious and even more mature Choerry.
Not to mention her song “Love Cherry Motion” itself, which for the most part, sounds like a summer-y pop song, but then it has TWO bass drops where the tone completely shifts to a cooler sound!
But the great thing is, both those sounds mix together so naturally! The bass drops don’t feel out of place; they fit into the song and the “girl crush” image Odd Eye Circle has.
Plus, it just makes the song more memorable and awesome!
(Alright, if you couldn’t tell by this point, Choerry is my favorite member. 😊💜)
Also, like Jinsoul, Choerry has two colors representing her; her official color purple, which is more cool, and her secondary official color white, which reflects that she used to be from the “light” side of the Moebius.
Even Kim Lip and Jinsoul seem to express a similar duality, with Kim Lip’s hot red versus Jinsoul’s cool blue, and the contrast of “Eclipse” and “Singing in the Rain”.
You get the picture. The theme of duality is incredibly strong in OEC.
Alright, time to wrap up OEC’s storyline!
Odd Eye reunion and the search begins
Choerry meets Kim Lip and starts assisting her in locating Jinsoul, as they now sense she has returned to the Cosmos.
While Kim Lip uses her super speed to run across the Cosmos, Choerry and her mirror self begin searching for her friends.
Let’s also keep in mind that Kim Lip has the cassette player; we’ll further discuss it later.
Mirror Choerry is on Earth, while the real Choerry uses a map to pinpoint the corresponding locations within the Cosmos.
A couple of things to note on the map itself.
There are pictures of the four representative animals of 1/3 (Heejin’s rabbit, Hyunjin’s cat, Haseul’s white bird/dove, and ViVi’s deer) on the top right corner.
And there’s also what appears to be an owl sticker.
Obviously, this shows Choerry has marked where she met Kim Lip, as when we look at the sticker’s placement more closely, it’s beside of a red circle.
Those red circles are in the same pattern as the mirrors Choerry found when Kim Lip was calling to her.
(Hey look, it’s even shown upside down on the map! 😆)
Because mirror Choerry and the real Choerry can see through each other’s eyes, mirror Choerry guides real Choerry to the right locations to find the 1/3 members.
This is literally Choerry’s shadow calling our Choerry; her Odd Eye even activated.
She arrives at an amusement park with a yellow Ferris wheel.
Hey, now doesn’t that ring a bell?
We see Hyunjin in front of a Ferris wheel in “Sonatine”, and her color is yellow. So that means this is where Hyunjin should be.
So Choerry places a cat sticker on the map to confirm Hyunjin’s location, but then...
She sees someone trying to draw her attention with a mirror... And it’s herself?
Wait, but mirror Choerry is supposed to be on Earth, so why is there another Choerry here?
Well... I don’t think that’s actually another mirror Choerry. I think that’s actually Hyunjin.
We actually see her appear later in the video. And we know that Hyunjin and Choerry are mirror counterparts; parallels of each other.
And when you walk along the Moebius strip, once you’re on the opposite side of the strip from your starting point, you become flipped like your reflection in the mirror.
So maybe that’s why Choerry saw Hyunjin as another version of herself.
But that begs the question, what is Hyunjin even doing in the Cosmos?
Well, here’s my answer. It’s not just her here in the Cosmos; it’s all four 1/3 members.
We see a yellow truck, which is the same truck Haseul rode when she was in Iceland searching her answers on Yeojin’s disappearance.
And at one point, we see someone who appears to be another Jinsoul about to approach the real Jinsoul from behind.
But when she turns around, she’s not there.
I think that could’ve been either Heejin or ViVi (leaning more towards the former), since Jinsoul has a connection to both of them.
And we also see later that Choerry has put a frog sticker on the map.
That means they found Yeojin!
And by “they”, I’m talking about the 1/3 girls, of course!
In the description of “Sonatine”, it reads that four girls cast an arcane spell of love in the forest to find the missing girl. This is clearly referring to the four 1/3 members searching for Yeojin.
So this means they all went into the forest and arrived in the Cosmos.
Because Yeojin wandered off somewhere else, as stated in the description for “Eclipse”, she most likely met Kim Lip or Choerry, thus why her sticker is on the map.
And now the other girls are trying to find her, encountering the Odd Eye girls along the way.
Once Choerry realizes this, she sends the map flying like a paper airplane to Hyunjin.
Now onto Jinsoul.
Throughout the video for “Girl Front”, we see her using her teleportation powers to try and find Kim Lip and Choerry.
She keeps ending up in different locations in the Cosmos. All she has to do is think of a place, and when she opens her eyes, she’s there.
Then, finally...
There they are! She’s reunited with Kim Lip and Choerry!
Now that they’ve found each other, they can unite their Odd Eye moons into one.
The new Odd Eye Circle is united at last.
After finally uniting, they find that Haseul has left them the yellow truck, as a thank you gift for helping them find Yeojin.
They also get the map back, so the three of them can continue their search for the next group of girls; the Eden girls.
Speaking of which...
There’s Yves, literally running circles around the Odd Eye girls.
And she is holding the cassette tape; the same one Kim Lip had in the beginning.
And we see in the “Starlight” Cinema Theory clip that Choerry senses Yves.
So when Yves first left Eden, she arrived at the Cosmos, stole Kim Lip’s cassette player and the 1/3 member tapes, then went to Earth to meet ViVi and mirror Choerry.
But how is all of this possible? How is Odd Eye Circle meeting 1/3 from the future, and Yves from the past?
Well, remember that OEC exists on the “bend” of the Moebius strip, and represent duality. But it’s not just the light and dark sides converging.
The past, present, and future are all converging in this one space.
I’ve realized through analyzing, rewatching, and breaking down the LOONAverse timeline that certain events seem to overlap one another in a strange way. The timeline isn’t perfectly linear.
And we see in “Girl Front” a constant looping affect on the girls.
(Sorry about the last one; it was a bit difficult trying to get a decent shot of multiple Kim Lip’s running at the same time. 😂)
I even think that the cassette tape Kim Lip had in the beginning was her own tape, so she could send a message to her past self.
That’s why the video loops at the very end, with Kim Lip looking at another version of herself, bringing us back to the start.
The Cosmos is more than just a bridge between Earth and Eden; it’s a bridge through time. So when you enter the forest, you pass through the Cosmos plane, and will either end up in the past or the future.
Phew! Wow, there was a lot to cover here! 😆
Well, next chapter will be the last one, as we will finally cover the unification of all 12 girls!
