Zeus – The King of Gods and Mortals
Zeus, the king of the gods and mortals, is the most powerful god in Greek mythology. As the god of thunder and sky, he resides on the peak of Mount Olympus from where he sent storms, winds, and rain to Earth. With his wisdom, experience, and strength, Zeus surpasses all gods; with a single thunderbolt, he could throw each of them into the dark Tartarus. Therefore, they didn’t dare to defy him.
His name stems from Indo-European words dey meaning to shine or light, and dyews, which can be translated as the bright sky. In Roman mythology, his equivalent was Jupiter. Here’s a look at one of the most prominent figures of Greek mythology, Zeus.
The History of Zeus
Zeus was the youngest son of the king of the Titans, Cronus, and his wife, Rhea. It had been prophesied that one of Cronus’ sons would take his throne, and in an attempt to thwart that, Cronus swallowed all the children that Rhea gave birth to.
Cronus Swallows His Children
Before the youngest child’s birth, Rhea turned to Uranus and Gaia for advice on how to save him.
Zeus is Hidden from Cronus
According to their instructions, she went to Crete, and as soon as she gave birth to Zeus, she hid him in a cave. The next day, Rhea wrapped a large stone in swaddling clothes, and then handed it to Cronus, who, convinced that he was receiving his son, immediately swallowed it.
In Crete, Zeus was raised by the nymphs Adrasteia and Ida. They kept the baby in a golden cradle and fed him honey and milk from Amalthea, the divine goat. They would hang the cradle on a tree so that Cronus couldn’t find his son on land, sky, or sea. The five-armed Cretan warriors, called Curetes, guarded the cradle and masked the child’s cries with the sound of their weapons.
Later, when he became the lord of the world, Zeus repaid his foster parents: he turned Adrasteia, Ida, and Amalthea into stars. He gave the bees the color of gold and resistance to the harsh mountain climate.
Zeus Overthrows Cronus
When Zeus grew and became stronger, he decided to save his brothers and sisters. Metis, an Oceanid and one of three thousand daughters of Oceanus and Tethys, gave Cronus a potion forcing him to vomit the stone first, and then his children – Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Poseidon, and Hades.
Together with his brothers and sisters, Zeus attacked Cronus and the Titans, and the battle, known as the Titanomachy, lasted for ten days. After they defeated Cronus, Zeus divided the rule of the world with his brothers, Hades and Poseidon. Zeus became the ruler of the sky and heavens, Poseidon ruled over the seas, and Hades became the god of the underworld. The Titans were cast into Tartarus, an underworld region, while Atlas, a Titan who had fought against Zeus, was punished by being forced to hold up the sky.
Zeus is Challenged
Zeus’ early rule was challenged by his grandmother, Gaia, who felt that he had treated her children, the Titans, with injustice. Together with the Gigantes, Gaia challenged the Olympians, but they were able to put down the Gigantomachy and continued their rule.
Another myth describes how the gods Hera, Poseidon and Apollo, who were quickly joined by all the other Olympians except Hestia. With the help of Hypnos, god of sleep, the Olympian gods stole Zeus’ thunderbolt and tied him up. Zeus was helped by Thetis and once free, severely punished Hera, Poseidon and Apollo as well as the other gods. They never challenged him again.
Zeus as a Ruler
Zeus’ home was located on the highest Greek mountain, Olympus. From its summit, Zeus could see everything. He observed and governed everything and everybody, punishing the evil and rewarding the good. He delivered justice and was considered the protector of homes, cities, properties, and guests.
Zeus is described by Hesiod as a god who laughed out loud and who was carefree. But at the same time, he was capricious and could be destructive, especially if crossed.
Zeus and the Conflict with Humans
From Mount Olympus, Zeus was disgusted at the sight of decadence and the human sacrifice taking place on earth. He flooded the earth to purify it off humans, with only Deucalion and Pyrrha surviving the flood. This myth has parallels to the story of Noah and the Ark from the Christian Bible.
The Wives and Children of Zeus
Zeus had seven immortal wives – including Metis, Themis, Eurynome, Demeter, Leto, Mnemosyne and Hera. Of these, Hera is his main wife, although Metis is his first.
Zeus and Metis: There was a prophecy stating that Metis would bear strong and powerful children who would overthrow their father. When Metis was pregnant with Zeus children, Zeus feared the fulfilment of the prophecy and so he tricked Metis and mad her turn herself into a fly. He then swallowed her, much like his father had swallowed Zeus’ siblings. Metis had already conceived a child and began creating a robe and helmet for her daughter. This caused Zeus pain and, in the end, Zeus’ asked Hephaestus to either cleave his head or to strike it with a hammer to release the pain. Athena then leaped out of Zeus’ head, fully grown and dressed in armor. Regardless of the prophecy, Athena was Zeus’ favorite child.
Zeus and Hera: Zeus married his sister Hera, but he wasn’t an exemplary husband. Due to his numerous affairs, with both immortal and mortal women, he often clashed with Hera. She was constantly jealous and hated his illegitimate children, like Heracles and Dionysus, often making life miserable for them.
Zeus’ Children: Zeus had several children. With his wife Hera he had three children, Ares, Hebe, and Eileithyia; with the Titaness Leto, he had twins Artemis and Apollo; with the goddess Demeter he had his daughter Persephone, and so on and so forth. Zeus also sired one child without a woman – the goddess Athena, who is said to have leapt out of his head.
Zeus’ Disguises and Seduction
The manner in which he wooed these women is sometimes reprehensible. He would frequently resort to rape, deceit and disguises in order to sleep with them. Several stories exist of his tricks used to deceive a love interest.
Zeus pretended to be an injured bird and flew into Hera’s room, before he coupled with her, preying on her compassion and love for animals.
He seduced the mortal princess Danae in the form of a golden shower, which led to her giving birth to Perseus.
Zeus appeared in the form of a goose to Nemesis and seduced her in this manner.
He transformed himself into his daughter Artemis, goddess of the hunt, to lure Callisto into a sense of security before he raped her.
He abducted Ganymede, a handsome mortal, disguised as an eagle and takes him to Olympus where he remains as cup-bearer to the gods.
To seduce Europa, Zeus took the form of a bull. To prove she wasn’t afraid of him, Europa sat on his back, and he took her to Crete. There, Zeus exposed his true self, and they made love.
The Symbolism and Portrayal of Zeus
As the king and the ruler of all the Greek gods and men, Zeus was often portrayed in art with specific symbols and aspects describing his purpose and personality.
Powerful patriarch – Some early paintings of Zeus depict him throwing flashes of lightning, establishing him as superior deity and warrior. In this context, he’s seen as a symbol of power, authority, and dominance.
King of gods and mortals – In the classical period, Zeus is often depicted sitting on the throne and holding the scepter, with the winged goddess Nike by his side, symbolizing his duty as patriarch and king of all gods.
Justice and authority – Unlike other Greek deities, he was often portrayed as a mature and dignified man with a beard and great stamina, denoting his status as an experienced ruler greater than others. He usually holds a staff in one hand and a stylized thunderbolt in the other, both seen as symbols ofpower, control, and justice.
Wisdom – At times, he’s depicted wearing a crown made of oak leaves. The oak was considered to be his holy tree representing wisdom, morale, resistance, and strength.
Symbols of Zeus
Besides the oak tree, Zeus was often associated with various symbols that were considered sacred to him. These included:
The Thunderbolt – The thunderbolt was Zeus’ great weapon, fashioned for him by the Cyclopes. This represented his power and authority over mortals and gods.
The Eagle – Zeus held the eagle as a particularly sacred bird and was often depicted riding it or having it next to him. With its excellent vision, the eagle represented Zeus’ ability to see everything. They are solar animals commonly related to sunlight. Therefore, they are the symbols of courage and royalty, as well as pride, victory, and longevity.
The wolf – This powerful animal is both feared and respected. As the king of heavens and the master of weather, Zeus was often associated with a wolf, representing a battle, awareness, bravery, and protection. Besides many titles, the king of all gods was also referred to as oath-keeper, savior, protector, guest-patron, punisher, and peacemaker.
The bull – Another sacred animal to Zeus was the bull. In this context, the bull is the symbol of virility, confidence, stamina, and fertility.
Lessons from Zeus’ Stories
Aside from being powerful and strong, the omnipotent ruler, Zeus, was far from perfect. However, there are some lessons we can learn from Zeus’ stories:
The inevitability of fate – This is a recurring topic in Greek legends and myths. We could interpret Zeus as being both the victim and the emissary of fate. The ruler of all gods was destined to take his father’s throne. His father, Cronus, himself became the ruler of the world by dethroning his own father. The legend goes on to say that Zeus is prophesied to be taken down by his own child, who is yet to be born.
Infidelity – Although today, we wouldn’t consider Zeus’ behavior and his unpredictably lascivious character to be exemplary, we could still draw some conclusions from his actions and infidelity. For ancient Greeks, his actions were right and justified. If the all-mighty god, such as Zeus, couldn’t control his urges and resist women’s beauty, then common mortal men had no reason to. Some would argue that mythology, especially when it comes to Greek gods, was made up not to teach us a moral lesson, but to justify people’s actions.
Love – In a more positive light, we could interpret Zeus’ saving his brothers and sisters from their father as an act of love and kindness. It shows that sometimes it’s necessary to treat someone unfairly and unjustly for your loved ones’ safety.

To Wrap It Up
As the god of the sky and the ruler of the world, Zeus has a central role in Greek mythology representing the father, ruler, and protector of all mortals and gods. However, his conflicting personality might be confusing – his anger and fury are covered by the certain heroic endeavors, such as saving his siblings from their father’s wrath.

El’s Prophecies: Some Little Theories
I was writing a long text about what I thought would happen, and then I realized that there was literally 0 reasons for me to be sooo long-winded. So after I called myself out on my bullshit, I cut a lot of unnecessary stuff off (we all read the books, so what’s even the point?). It’s not like I‘m getting a scholarship for it, so. Most of this stuff was already mentioned in the group chat! Some spoilers ahead!
So, there are two prophecies about El’s fate. One of them is from her great-grandmother and the other one from a magic mirror – a workshop assignment gone wrong.
They are:
But when we got there, my great-grandmother took one look at me and fell down in a visionary fit and said I was a burdened soul and would bring death and destruction to all the enclaves in the world if I wasn’t stopped.
And
“Hail, Galadriel, bringer of death! You shall sow wrath and reap destruction, cast down enclaves and level the sheltering walls, cast children from their homes and—”
It’s quite on-the-nose, I think, but El’s burden is the affinity she does not wish to have. First, because it doesn’t match her morality. Second, because she fears the decadence that follows the abuse of malia. And third, but most importantly, because if she doesn’t join an enclave, and they find out about her potential (and they will, because El has already killed a grogler the size of a truck, an argonet and a fucking maw-mouth, and none of those are secrets), they are going to try to assassinate her. Maleficers are only tolerated when they can do the dirty work for enclaves, and if they are a threat they get chased down like the Hands of Death. New York, and probably other major enclaves like London, etc. etc., will try to recruit El when they find out about her affinity and the extent of her powers. She will turn them down, and they will try to have her killed. She will unleash Hell on Earth because of that. She will have to use malia to defend herself, and she will hate it. Or love it, and hate the fact that she loved it. It will make her feel conflicted.
As for “sow wrath and reap destruction”: In anger, El will create a very powerful and destructive spell. She or someone else will use it. Either way, that will show the world the extent of what she can do. Perhaps a maleficer that we will get to know in the next books will pick up the spell she wrote to set off a super volcano during freshmen year. Or, even, in anger, El will cast a very powerful and destructive spell after spiraling into anger after another assassination attempt, like what happened after Magnus tried to murder her. For El, it was disproportional violence and she couldn’t find excuses for him. Since assassination attempts from enclavers will happen again, El will probably get into that same state and, unable to come down from it, cast some of her delightful spells on the object of her fury.
El is going to become a central figure in an anti-enclave movement that will mobilize many indie wizards inside and outside Scholomance (like the punk kids of London, families like Liu’s, etc). El would plant the seed of wrath among people like her, and reap destruction when they go against the enclaves.
El will connect the dots that Purochana, the first wizard to create enclave-building spells, did build more than one enclave, with the goal of accommodating more than himself and his immediate circle. That will be an inspiration for her. She will help many communities of wizards to build their own enclaves with the spells from the Golden Stone sutras ( @o-dainty-duck helped me put these pieces together). That will put an end to the age of enclaves, as enclaves are only able to keep themselves powerful by trading the enclave-building spells (that they keep very well-guarded) and vacancies inside the enclaves for the useful talents of non-enclavers. Without the exclusivity, they won’t be able to keep recruiting the best wizards from Scholomance, and will be unable to retain the same influence they have today, which will “cast down enclaves” and “level the sheltering walls”. I see it happening either by the end of the book 3, after El struggle against enclaves, or in the beginning, shaping it.
Orion is fated to be the hero doing the stopping mentioned in El’s prophecy. The prophecy leaves in the air whether or not she will be. Orion is regarded as special by his fellow enclavers, children and adults alike, and not because of his mother’s position. As a matter of fact, she probably used his specialness as a leverage, and has more plans to do it after he graduates from Scholomance. He has a prophecy of his own, as the savior of the status quo. Because of his prophecy, the enclave must be aware that he has a nemesis out there, but they won’t know who this person is until Miss Atomic Bomb El graduates with all her mass destruction spells and refuses to join any enclave.
El will destroy the Scholomance (cast children from their homes). She has already started, by building the new steel panel in the stairwell. Somehow, her affinity sneaked up on her, and now her magic will start affecting the workings of the school, that will become more savage (as the synopsis of book 2 goes), forcing her to pull the school from the void for damage control, with the spells she will learn from the Golden Stone sutras, making her the last graduate of Scholomance for good. Alternatively, Orion will stay behind to help someone, and end up trapped there, as the gates only stay open to the world for about 30 minutes. El will pull the school from the void to save him. Or she will stay with him, or go back for him, since this is a pattern she has established the whole time she called him a wanker for displaying the same behavior. Either way, pulling the school from the void will affect its physical integrity (which it doesn’t have), as the school only exists in the void and was not made with worldly physics in mind. The school will start to collapse, and the other students will have to flee the school. Alternatively 2x, with the destruction of some physical enclaves (all enclaves in the world?), the children that live there will have to flee, in the condition of refugees.
In the end, El will build a new school, one with adults to kill maleficaria and protect the students. Or she’ll set up new homes for them, by building enclaves for them to live in.
Are there typos? Tell me there aren’t typos (;﹏;)
#isn't it so beautiful and painful the fact that orion and el are meant to be nemesis and instead they treasure each other the most??#by beautiful and painful i just mean painful actually#none of it sounds like news to me now#but perhaps it's because I SPENT DAYS trying to make sense of it#like chill luiza#anyways#a deadly education#a deadly education theory#a deadly education theories#the last graduate theory#the last graduate theories#scholomance#galadriel higgins#el higgins#orion lake#elrion

You Nox Au is so goooood!!!! Question! Any chance you could give us a little about Regis and Nox relationship?
Hiya! Ohhh absolutely! *cracks knuckles* hopefully this will be what you wanted, feel free to drop another ask with more specific questions if it isn’t:
-Very awkward at first. On both sides but for different reasons. Nox is awkward because- well- this is his DAD. The father he adores and learned DIED HORRIBLY while he was having a fun road trip and that the last thing he ever said to his dad was something kinda mouthy (not mean, but you know- teasing and flippant rather than “I love you” or something). Now he’s back in time and Regis is alive and well and HERE but Regis- Regis doesn’t KNOW HIM. To Regis he is a previously unknown son (a mistake? does his father see him as a mistake now?) with an unknown past and a Niflheim Uncle. So Nox really doesn’t know how to Deal. He WANTS to treat his Dad like his Dad but he also doesn’t want to look suspicious or get his heart shattered overstep his boundaries as the “new, illegitimate son” so for a while he keeps getting caught in this cycle of acting stiff and awkward while Regis tries his hardest to break down the barriers, then forgetting himself and acting normally (lovingly and confidently) around Regis only to remember himself and retreat again.
-For Regis, there’s a ... LOT of emotions going on behind his own behavior. A big one is guilt. Lots of it. He has a SON. A second, older, WONDERFUL son who he didn’t know existed until Nox was FIFTEEN and that son is COVERED IN SCARS and is underweight and generally has a Very Obvious Traumatic Backstory even though (especially because) he refuses to breathe a word about his life before Cid knew him/Regis met him. There’s also confusion and more than a little panic over the way Nox acts, because Regis can feel through their magic that Nox loves Regis a staggering (undeserved in Regis’s opinion) amount and yet- Nox is so skittish around him. Afraid and jumpy and constantly backpedalling every time Regis thinks they’re finally making headway in Building A Father-Son Relationship (which makes Regis assume he DID something to trigger the retreat, said something or implied something that reminded Nox of his past or made him feel unwelcome but Regis can’t figure out WHAT and it drives him bonkers). It’s like Nox is afraid to accept that Regis loves Nox just as much as Nox loves Regis. Like he’s AFRAID of Regis for some reason, something unnamed and deep and hurting. Something presumably put there by Nox’s mother’s husband and that on top of all his scars and Quiet Days and other things makes Regis want to HURT someone.
-Eventually though, and with much help from a semi-oblivious Noctis who has NO qualms forcing the two to interact via paying attention to him, the barriers between them start to ease. Nox stops retreating every time he catches himself opening up and acting like himself around Regis, Regis stops mentally crosschecking every sentence coming out of his mouth for fear of driving Nox away. It’s not the relationship Nox remembers as Noctis, it’s a little more tentative and weighted, but that’s okay. Regis starts to realize that Nox is ... incredibly smart and mature (and so self-sacrificing it’s alarming) and understands Regis’s occasional slip up and complaint about politics like he’s been there himself (he assumes it’s because Ardyn is the Chancellor and he taught his nephew about this stuff, not that Nox has been a literal king). Nox on the other hand learns that his father, who he always saw as so much larger than life and wiser and stronger than him is ... not really? He still respects his father, no doubts on that, but he also sees that his dad is ... well. Human. It’s a silly thing to not realize as fully as he does now, but there you go.
-The day Regis realizes Nox has been consistently calling him Dad instead of Regis for about a month is the day Regis cancels all his council meetings to go sit somewhere and be an Emotion.
-Once it’s fully settled, the relationship between these two is very comfortable and laidback. Nox is unafraid to be snarky or offer advice or even to be Quiet around Regis and Regis doesn’t walk on eggshells about Nox’s past or his status as the second son rather than Crown Prince. Regis dotes on Nox however he can, though this is less in the way he dotes on Noctis (with playtime and visits and presents) and more trusting Nox to Take Care of Himself if his eldest declares he needs to leave the Citadel for a few days and trusting that Nox will come to him for help or to talk if he needs it (though he does still absolutely lavish Nox in presents and spend as much time with him as possible because He Loves His Kids).
-Their only big points of contention are Regis Not Taking Care of Himself, Nox Not Taking Care of Himself, or Noctis’s Status as Chosen King. Because Regis thinks he’s keeping that a secret from Nox and at one point did start trying to “discreetly” train up Nox to replace Noctis as Crown Prince for when the Prophecy happened only for Nox to absolutely pick up on what was happening (because he’s lived the Prophecy and he both refuses to let it happen again and refuses to let Regis give up to “fate”) and flip his lid. That was like- the first and possibly last time Nox ever screamed at Regis. Genuinely, furiously, physically shaking the entire Citadel with his levels of magic, screamed at him. Regis was more than a little shocked, not just because Nox revealed he knew about the FULL prophecy (rather than the prettied up version the masses know) but also because he genuinely didn’t think Nox could ... get that ANGRY and LOUD (Nox is usually very laidback calm in the Citadel and when distressed tends to go Quiet and Brooding rather than screamingly furious). It took a while to resettle their relationship after that fight, but they worked it out, don’t worry.
-So like, in general, they have a very close, friendly, loving relationship as Dad and Son and they never doubt that the other loves them but sometimes Nox’s past (either the real thing on Nox’s end or what Regis thinks happened) or Regis’s duties as king/dad of the Chosen One still rise up and slaps them both in the face.
-For a more fluffy ending note, their two favorite bonding activities are fishing (often with Noctis tagging along) or curling up on the plushy study armchairs and reading (usually historical accounts/historical fiction but also some poetry and fantasy too). And because I firmly HC that Regis is the Secretly Eos’s Biggest History Nerd, Regis and Nox get into lively and friendly debates over random facts of history and the lives of the Old Kings and Queens. Regis thinks that some of the stuff Nox “theorizes” is pretty hilariously out there (Nox just smiles and lets Regis win those debates, since he’s never going to tell his dad about the Crystal’s memories and honestly, if he hadn’t lived it through the Crystal’s magic, Nox wouldn’t believe that the Rogue spent a week hiding in a traveling circus either).

▬▬ PSYCHOLOGIC DESCRIPTION ▬▬
Personality Type: The Commander (ENTJ)
Personality Type Description: Commanders are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. However, Commanders are also characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive, determination and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they’ve set for themselves. Perhaps it is best that they make up only three percent of the population, lest they overwhelm the timider and sensitive personality types that make up much of the rest of the world – but we have Commanders to thank for many of the businesses and institutions we take for granted every day.
If there’s anything Commanders love, it’s a good challenge, big or small, and they firmly believe that given enough time and resources, they can achieve any goal. This quality makes people with the Commander personality type brilliant entrepreneurs, and their ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of their plans with determination and precision makes them powerful business leaders. This determination is often a self-fulfilling prophecy, as Commanders push their goals through with sheer willpower where others might give up and move on
Personality Trait Strengths:
Efficient – Commanders see inefficiency not just as a problem in its own right, but as something that pulls time and energy away from all their future goals, an elaborate sabotage consisting of irrationality and laziness. People with the Commander personality type will root out such behavior wherever they go.
Energetic – Rather than finding this process taxing Commanders are energized by it, genuinely enjoying leading their teams forward as they implement their plans and goals.
Self-Confident – Commanders couldn’t do this if they were plagued by self-doubt – they trust their abilities, make known their opinions, and believe in their capacities as leaders.
Strong-Willed – Nor do they give up when the going gets tough – Commander personalities strive to achieve their goals, but really nothing is quite as satisfying to them as rising to the challenge of each obstacle in their run to the finish line.
Strategic Thinkers – Commanders exemplify the difference between moment-to-moment crisis management and navigating the challenges and steps of a bigger plan, and are known for examining every angle of a problem and not just resolving momentary issues, but moving the whole project forward with their solutions.
Charismatic and Inspiring – These qualities combine to create individuals who are able to inspire and invigorate others, who people actually want to be their leaders, and this in turn helps Commanders to accomplish their often ambitious goals that could never be finished alone.
Personality Trait Weaknesses:
Stubborn and Dominant – Sometimes all this confidence and willpower can go too far, and Commanders are all too capable of digging in their heels, trying to win every single debate and pushing their vision, and theirs alone.
Intolerant – “It’s my way or the highway” – People with the Commander personality type are notoriously unsupportive of any idea that distracts from their primary goals, and even more so of ideas based on emotional considerations. Commanders won’t hesitate a second to make that fact clear to those around them.
Impatient – Some people need more time to think than others, an intolerable delay to quick-thinking Commanders. They may misinterpret contemplation as stupidity or disinterest in their haste, a terrible mistake for a leader to make.
Arrogant – Commander personalities respect quick thoughts and firm convictions, their own qualities, and look down on those who don’t match up. This relationship is a challenge for most other personality types who are perhaps not timid in their own right, but will seem so beside overbearing Commanders.
Poor Handling of Emotions – All this bluster, alongside the assumed supremacy of rationalism, makes Commanders distant from their own emotional expression and sometimes downright scornful of others’. People with this personality type often trample others’ feelings, inadvertently hurting their partners and friends, especially in emotionally charged situations.
Cold and Ruthless – Their obsession with efficiency and unwavering belief in the merits of rationalism, especially professionally, makes Commanders incredibly insensitive in pursuing their goals, dismissing personal circumstances, sensitivities, and preferences as irrational and irrelevant.
Personality Type in Relationships:
As in other areas of their lives, Commanders approach dating and relationships with a set of goals and a plan to achieve them, and proceed to do so with impressive energy and enthusiasm. People with the Commander personality type are in it to win, and will gladly take leading roles in relationships from the start, assuming personal responsibility for how smoothly things go and working actively to ensure a mutually rewarding experience. Romantic relationships are a serious business, and Commanders are in it for the long haul. This sense of personal responsibility means that Commanders put a lot of energy into their relationships, and they show their creativity by always having something new on the agenda to keep things interesting, especially in the dating phase. At the same time though, Commander personalities keep their eyes on the long term, and if they determine that a relationship is heading towards a dead end, they will cut their losses and move on in what will seem to their partner an abrupt end to the attention they had been receiving.
Personality Stats:
Mind (This trait determines how we interact with our environment.): 56% Extraverted, 44% Introverted
Energy (This trait shows where we direct our mental energy.): 69% Intuitive, 31% Observant
Nature (This trait determines how we make decisions and cope with emotions.): 40% Feeling, 60% Thinking

▬▬ Story ▬▬
My father was also a respectable man. A archeologist. And I, a archeologists' eldest daughter and heir. He not only owned a shipping company, he was a close relative of a government official, who was called upon when aid was needed, and also cared for the museum in Osaka-- where we were often stayed at in the summer. As his heir, I was expected to learn much and so, I had my own private tutor that lived with us.
When summer came to pass, we went back Tokyo. In Tokyo, I saw these lovely things... these paintings. I fell in love with their design, and took up the hobby of Ukiyo-e painting. I practiced and practiced, giving father small gifts every once in awhile. He made it even more clear that I should not interact with the outside world all too often, as he did not know I was honing this new-found skill for the purpose I had intended to use it for.
He did however, notice I had begun training my eye for the paint right after passing through the marketplace on multiple occasions, wondering and dreading with his beloved daughter would whip up next. I could see things you wouldn't believe; Red strings connected to every little thing with little dates etched into them... For as long as I could remember, I could see everything of this nature just dangling freely for me and only me to take. I treasured these moments the most, this innocence in my abilities.
I can remember everything so vividly down to an exact date and exact time in which my marriage that lasted a month or so, was quick to fall apart. I had just gotten into the gambling scene heavily at 25 years old and, undoubtedly so, I had made friends as well as enemies; It was no secret I was a rich mans daughter and heir that simply had too much time and cash on their hands to blow it all so I became a center of attention. What few had tried approaching me in Hope's of romantic interest, did so in groups, only interested in my cash or my body; Everyone except for him, or so I thought.
He was charming, handsome even, and he was like a god in my eyes for he made me feel special and loved... So when he proposed, I thought nothing of it and accepted him into my heart immediately. He was eager and I was nervous. The time spent before our marriage was a month long and I had-- at the time-- no idea why. I loved him and he loved me, so why wait? By the end of that month we had waited... we married in Denmark.
The chapel was empty on my side, so his friends (and only ‘friends’ showed up) had spread out evenly. I was not accustomed to this practice, and so we had to go over it a few times... I probably frustrated them. I would find out, much later than I would have liked, exactly why he wanted to wait sooo badly~.
My body, it was on the floor and it was oh so limp. I could feel it, suffocation as blood clogged every airway possible. So limp, yet I mustered the strength to write one thing in hoping--praying!-- that I wasn’t alone. That he would be discovered. That I could be saved.
‘Him’
“Oh trust me... no one is going to find you.”
With that, that dutch bastard left me to die alone, gagging on my blood. And the fool had the audacity to step over me as I was in the process of drowning in my own pool of blood and puke on the floor in the bedroom, blood slipping between my fingers from the wounds peppering my stomach and face. Before leaving through the door, he stoked a flame to his pipe... and smiled down at me “Thanks for the inhe.....”
I can remember blacking out and, somehow, by some miracle, I was alive; My ribs were cracked, left hand fractured and I had various damage to my face from the blunt object which he had chosen to bludgeon me with but... I was alive. It stirred something in me, like I had cheated the inevitable when in actuality a friend of his hand stopped by to drop off a box of camping supplies...
He planned to break my bones and stuff me in a trunk to better hide me in the nearby woods easier.

((More CB cast thoughts part 2. This time with the bandicoot family, their pets, and aliens.))
((Warning: More walls of text. Only one instance of mild language.))
Bandicoots
Crash
Joe: Very annoying and loud. Joe’s still not over losing that one battle during the second game for personal reasons. He wants a rematch to show this bandicoot who’s the strongest around these islands.
Moe: Needs to stop playing loud rock music so he can sleep in peace. Other than that, he isn’t that bad to be around, if a bit weird.
Coco
Joe: Is jealous of how much she accomplished for her small age. Yeah he may have found treasure, but that took time and help from his brother. Meanwhile, she already knows how to build machines, master martial arts, and hack into Tropy’s extremely complex time machine. He wonders if she’ll be able to find holy grail with how smart she is.
Moe: Easily impressed by her fighting skills. Maybe one day they can have an arm wrestling match.
Crunch
Joe: On a scale of Tiny to Roo, he fits somewhere between Koala Kong and Moe. Not super dumb, but would probably fall for simple pranks.
Moe: Yes! Another tough dude he can fight against!
Tawna
Joe: Isn’t sure what to think considering he’s never seen her around. Heard rumors that she might be Pinstripe’s lover and/or a close friend of Brio’s. If either are true, he’ll know exactly what sort opinion he should form on her.
Moe: Has no clue who she is.
Fake Crash
Joe: Looks like if Crash got hit with frying pan a hundred times and ate a whole grapefruit. He’s only ever seen him dance around in the most hard to reach places. Weird freak.
Moe: Gets excited every time he spots him. It’s like finding Bigfoot in the dense forests of Alaska.
Pets of the Bandicoot Family
Polar
Joe: Who thought it was a good idea to bring this ugly abomination to the islands? That thing is gonna grow up to eat everyone and everything before swimming to the southern Antarctic for some tasty penguin chow. Also, it looks ugly as sin.
Moe: A cute little guy.
Pura
Joe: Great, another meat eating pet. He thinks about planning an emergency food storage in case this disgusting feline eats all of the birds and fish.
Moe: Another cute critter.
Baby T
Joe: Ok, this is ridiculous. One has to wonder where the bandicoots keep getting these baby animals from. They should get an elephant calf for all he cares. Speaking of the dinosaur itself, it’s appearance is awful and should be sent back to the Cretaceous period it came from.
Moe: The best of the three. He wants to give this little dino snuggles and ride upon its back like a horse.
Aliens
(UPDATE: This used to be only Oxide and Trance. Now that its confirmed that all of the nitro kart aliens will be in the CTRNF, the brothers finally have a way to interact with them that was previously unavailable.)
Nitros Oxide (N. Oxide)
Joe: Considers this speed demon both a loser and a rival on the race tracks. After Oxide left earth for good, Joe has been practicing for many days and nights to better his driving skills. If by some chance the alien changed his mind and came back, he wants to be ready this time. He’ll take on Oxide, and show him that he has what it takes to race for the fate of this planet.
Moe: Only heard of him through his brother about how terrible he is. Not much else.
N.Trance
Joe: A repulsive creature that’s more atrocious than the singing voice of Cortex in the shower. He’d steer clear from him as much as possible with the utmost caution. His biggest fear is having Moe be captured by this rotten egg and being brainwashed to oblivion.
Moe: If he can eats raw livestock for breakfast, then he can eat this hard-boiled cyborg in just one gulp.
Emperor Velo XXVII
Joe: Great, another alien racer with a big ego that wants to destroy the planet. This is getting too ridiculous. At this point, he expects another one to just pop up right after this sour raisin loses.
Moe: Is that their uncle?
Zem
Joe: Doesn’t like the constant burping and how he has to listen to every detail about what this guy ate last Thursday. He might as well be one of Dingodile’s regular customers for how much he likes food.
Moe: Smells like re-fried beans.
Zam
Joe: It’s ugly, it’s gross, and it needs to be thrown into a fire.
Moe: Puppy!
Krunk
Joe: Reminds him of Papu Papu back on the islands. He does appear to be very territorial and hostile to outsiders like him since they’re from earth and such. The aggressiveness dialed back much to Joe’s surprise once he was told of an ancient prophecy involving himself and how it would affect Terra.
Moe: Wants to know why they have a statue of his brother even though he’s never been on this planet.
Nash
Joe: Does this jackass of a fish ever shut his stupid jaws for once? All he hears from his uproars are just a bunch of worthless nonsense that might as well be used as filler for dumb TV commercials. He hopes later on that this idiot dies of dehydration.
Moe: Is waiting for Joe to give him the signal to cut this dude into sushi.
Norm & Big Norm
Joe: Out of all of the aliens he’s had to put up with, these two seem to be the ones that he’d most likely to get along with. The smaller mime seems to know a lot despite not saying anything. The large one does all of the talking, and isn’t as big of an oaf despite the clownish appearance. Maybe they could share info with one another as a friendly exchange.
Moe: Norm reminds him of how emotionally reserved his brother can be at times while also being smart with all of those books. Big Norm is tough and supportive, getting in some arguments while also wanting the best for his little buddy. He’s even got some cool video games found only on Fenomena!
Geary
Joe: Hates how loud and obnoxious this clean freak can get. It’s like they were made with faulty parts found in a wasteland before being washed in a cement mixer and then dumped into a hot furnace. How else would it explain their erratic behavior of wanting to clean their dirt-covered robes?
Moe: The brush and vacuum tickles him a lot, reminds him of those cleaning roombas that people love so much.
Bonus
Penta Penguin
Joe: He’s seen penguins around the coastline before, but not this one in particular. There’s also this rumor that this little guy survived being toasted by Dingodile by punching the ever daylights out of him. Joe believes it to be false, thinking that the bird must be one hotshot to come up with a bogus story for people to hear.
Moe: Would protect at all costs and give plenty of hugs.
Yaya Panda
Joe: Only had a few races with her in the dense bamboo forests. Another racing rival of his, but he considers her more of a worthy opponent when compared with Pinstripe and Oxide. Other than that, he doesn’t think much else.
Moe: She sounds cool and amazing. Now if only he learned to drive a kart like Joe.

Fic: Ak’tephari Prophecy Ch 49
Read at AO3
When they came through the hallway, the next room lit magically at their presence, and there was an altar at the far end.
“Finally,” Victor muttered.
“Don’t let your guard down,” Merlin said.
“Yes,” Emma agreed. “Form up. We don’t know what else is in here.”
Gradually, testing each step as they walked back to back facing outward, they crossed the large, empty room. Emma noticed a huge archway on one side that led to a shallow alcove and felt a little sliver of fear up her spine. She tried to shake it off. Then they reached the altar.
All that was on it was an ornate sword.
“Fucking hell! Really?” Regina said.
At that moment the door they’d entered through slammed shut with a heavy thud.
“Shit, get that door open,” Emma commanded, and the men started to run to do it.
Then another thud came. And another. And another. Almost like-
“Footsteps,” Billy said. “Something big.”
“Something very big,” Emma agreed. The archway filled with water, and Emma realized it must be a portal. “Regina, Henry, Merlin, get behind us. Give us whatever you’ve got. Everybody else, form up!”
"Are you crazy? Do you hear that thing?" Will demanded.
"She's right," Merlin agreed. "This is a test-" and at that moment he, and everyone else, was lost for words as the heavy footfalls reached the room they were in.
Emma couldn't help internally objecting that giants were supposed to be mythological, but then there was no more time to think as it roared and charged them.
"Spirit compel me!" Emma shouted, then ran forward, pulling her sword as she went, followed a bit slower by the rest of the soldiers.
The good part was that the thing's size made it pretty slow. Even if the battle was kind of like wasps attacking a bear, they were able to avoid, just barely, being crushed by the giant's huge club or feet as they hacked at its legs. Regina and Merlin sent a steady stream of magic projectiles and arrows from the far end of the enormous room. But whatever damage they did was healed almost instantly by the bands of water that flowed around the giant, and they weren’t getting anywhere fast. Emma was only dimly aware of the other soldiers, and then mostly by their shouts and curses, too focused on the task at hand to do more than avoid running into them.
Then Emma slipped, and as she scrambled to her feet she saw with sickening clarity the club heading toward her. There was no time to get out of the way. Her fate sealed, she put her sword up to at least die a soldier's death and looked over her shoulder to meet Regina's eyes.
But instead of the giant killing her instantly where she stood, she was knocked a glancing blow and sent sliding across the floor to slam into a wall as the thing roared in pain. Victor had leapt onto the back of one massive leg and was slicing away at the giant's hamstring.
Dazed from her collision with the stone, she could only give an inarticulate cry as the monster reversed its swing to bat at the source of its pain, and Victor’s broken body fell to the ground.
A second's pained recognition, and Emma groped furiously around herself on the floor for her sword. It wasn’t near her, and she couldn’t see it anywhere either, but the one on the altar was right there. It was bejeweled and potentially ceremonial, but she quickly determined that it was sharp enough.
"For Victor!" she yelled, and the soldiers roared back. A fierce determination filled her. They might die, but they had to try.
At that moment, the sword Emma held flared into a bright glow, and a feral smile touched her lips as she saw the giant cringe away from the light. Returning to the fray, she quickly finished what Victor had begun, hamstringing the giant and bringing it down, realizing as it hit the floor that its water shield and its healing had vanished the second this sword had touched it. Now they could actually do some damage.
It was over quickly after that, and as soon as the giant died it vanished as if it had never been, leaving only the piece of the Orb and the aftermath.
**
It was a long time before they stopped staring around, dazed from the experience.
Emma finally shook it off, but couldn't bring herself to start snapping orders at men who were shaken as much by the incredibly powerful magic as by being in a situation far more deadly than they’d ever faced. Body aching, she limped over to where Regina stood with her bow dangling from a slack hand.
Regina’s grip on her weapon was evidently also her grip on composure, because as Emma gently peeled it out of her hand and set both it and the sword aside to embrace her, she began to tremble violently. Emma held her until her body stilled, then pulled back and met her eyes. Regina sighed, and nodded to indicate that she would be alright for now. Emma kissed her on the forehead before retrieving the sword and trudging wearily to the entrance, where those on guard, even the usually irrepressible Robin, didn’t dare ask what had happened after one look at her.
She grabbed Victor's pack and returned to the great hall to do what came next.
As Emma carefully wrapped the corporal's shattered body in his blanket, she silently thanked him for his sacrifice. She hadn't always liked him, but the water elemental surely couldn’t fault his behavior in the Citadel. Stepping back, she nodded to two of the men to carry him out as Regina's hand found hers. They stood for long moments more, then began to walk slowly from the room.
Merlin cleared his throat. "Emma?" he began, his voice sounding as battered and weary as her soul felt. She met his eyes without speaking. "Should you-" he began, then swallowed hard and tried again, struggling to steady his voice. "Should you be taking that?" he asked, eyeing the sword in her hand.
She looked down at it as if not recognizing her own arm, having completely forgotten that the weapon she had been picking up and setting down and carrying around wasn't her own.
"Probably not," she answered in a toneless voice. She moved to return it to the altar, but before she had gotten far, she saw her own sword splintered where it had apparently been stepped on by the giant. She sighed, and looked at the weapon she held again. "Unfortunately, master of this temple," she said, addressing the abstract swirl of a statue above the altar as she approached it again, "I think I need to borrow this for a while." Then she traded the scabbard for her own.
Turning to go, she saw Regina and Merlin gaping at her. "What? I'm doing the elemental powers’ work, and it’s not like anybody else was using it."
