a/n: this post isnât showing up in the tags and idk whyđđ
ive linked both the outfit and the makeup look, and will continue to do so in the future. this is mostly bc im not rlly good at being descriptive sorry đ . For the aesthetic and looks in particular i might link a lot of Cierra Nia, cus her vibe and fits are very much what i had in mind. (when it comes down to it a lot of the inspiration im going off of is very Kali Uchis, Princess Nokia, and SZA.)
ik that this kinda cuts into the inclusivity (w aesthetics and fashion sense at least, bc i understand that some of these outfits might not be smth other people are comfortable wearing), but even w the concept ill try my best to widen the range of outfits as i go forward
the chad bit is inspired by @yourlocalauthor
also... im lowkey loving Isaiah as a character and i might invest in him more than i planned to lmao.Â
summary: You get ready for dinner with the Cameronâs but you meet a certain Pogue instead.Â

one - â« Only in the West by Yeek â«
After being told that you would be interacting with people in just a few short hours youâd rushed off to your designated room. Your parents were generous enough to leave name signs on the doors (likely for the movers to put your belongings in the correct rooms) and you tore yours off the front before you slipped into the room, closing the door and locking it behind you.Â
You took in the room for a moment. It was already pretty much furnished, just not decorated or arranged in a way that you would like it to be. Everything was just kind of there, from the bed sheets to the vanity that you actually couldnât really complain about.
Your suitcases had been placed at the foot of the bed and you moved to open the one that contained your makeup. You transferred your makeup products onto the vanity before a buzzing at your waist made you pause.Â
âOh shit,â you pulled your phone from where it was being held against you by the waistband of your shorts. The FaceTime caller ID had âthat bitch maddy â displayed at the top of the screen and you cringed because she was probably pissed that you hadnât been responding to any of their texts. Pressing the answer button you pulled out the little seat of your vanity and leaned your phone against the mirror.Â
âOh shit, she answered!â BBâs voice echoed out of the speaker of your phone and you let out a laugh.Â
âAre you serious dude, weâve been trying to contact you for hours,â Maddy drawled out, clearly annoyed.
âI just got to the house Maddy.â
When it came to your group of friends, Maddy Perez was someone who constantly sought for attention. This wasnât shit talk either, it was just the fact of it. Youâd been friends with Maddy for nearly your whole lives and something that she loved was praise and attention. You were one of the few people who knew how to keep up with some of her antics. You were also one of the few people capable of calling her out on her shit without her lashing out at you for it (Although the topic of Nathaniel Jacobs was one she seemed to be especially hard headed on).Â
The girls started to talk over one another, Katâs voice drowned by the energy of Maddy and BB. You nodded along as you moved around in preparation. Youâd stripped off the top you had flown in, tossing it aside in irritation and instant relief as the sweat that was being trapped in by the fabric immediately began to be cooled by the touch of the air conditioned room.Â
âI mean what the fuck right?â Maddy concluded her story and you could only imagine Kat rolling her eyes.Â
âMaddy the longer you complain about Nathaniel the more I begin to tone you out,â you admitted and Kat let out a laugh.Â
âDaaaamn,â BB drawled out from somewhere off screen.Â
âWhat the fuck (Y/N) youâre supposed to be on my side,â Maddy was clearly angered by your comment, you could hear it in her tone.Â
âBabe I am on your side. Iâm on your side no matter what the fuck that psycho does. I just really donât need to hear about what he does because it doesnât change anything,â you leaned in close to the mirror to focus on your eye make up. You looked over at your screen for a split second and from Maddyâs body language alone you knew youâd eased her irritation.
âSo (Y/N) howâs North Carolina,â Kat question, emphasizing North Carolina with a misplaced old-time cowboy-like accent. Youâd only spoken to the movers from earlier so far but people from North Carolina and the Outer Banks in particular didnât seem to have a distinct type of accent.Â
âItâsâŠâ you leaned back to look at yourself and shrugged, âsticky.â
âSticky?â Kat laughed and Maddy let out a small âewâ.Â
âYeah. Yeah itâs sticky.âÂ
_____________
It took nearly two hours but youâd finished getting ready and damn did you look good. Youâd ended the call with the girls after they showered you with compliments and sentiment and you find yourself letting out a heavy sigh to try and release the tension in your chest. You missed your friends. You missed being a short drive away from Maddyâs house. You missed Kat and BB laying around in your room arguing about one thing or another. You missed sleepovers at Cassie and Lexiâs house. You missed heading out to the gas station and talking to Fez and Ashtray (which was an experience mind you). You missed the suburbs and not being on an island all the way across the country.
You missed all of this and you hadnât even been on this island for a day.Â
A knock on your door interrupted the growing weight you could feel throughout your body.Â
â(Y/N), are you ready? Weâre gonna head out soon,â your motherâs muffled voice called to you and you nodded before realizing she definitely could not see you.Â
âYeah Iâm good just give me a second!â you called back.Â
âOk,â her voice drifted off and you took one last look in the vanity mirror, concluding that you definitely needed a full body mirror in this room.Â
For tonight you were dressed to ensure the weather on the island knew it could fuck off. Maddy had pleaded for you to wear one of the dresses/outfits sheâd gifted you at your farewell party (although youâd specifically told her not to get you anything, you also werenât gonna complain about the amount of money sheâd made Nate drop just to get you presents). So there you were, dressed in a dark purple, suede-textured, bra top with a long pleated skirt that was a lighter, softer shade of purple. You accessorized with two different chains hung around around your neck, a purple bucket hat, a small light purple shoulder bag, white socks bunched at your ankles and silver sneakers. The look was topped off with your makeup matching the purple color scheme.Â
Concluding that you were good to go, you made your way out of your room and then out of the house. You took in everything as you passed it, from boxes that were yet to be unpacked to new pieces of decorations your old house definitely did not have.Â
âYâknow sometimes I wonder how it feels to need to take 3 hours getting ready,â Isaiah drawled from where he was leaning against the car, scrolling through his phone. Heâd dressed in some cutoff tan pants and a polo with a logo that you couldnât make out on the left breast.Â
âIt would really help you out,â you shot back and he scoffed.Â
âMy look is effortless ok, I have natural beauty-â
âOh, natural beauty bullshit-âÂ
âIâm not the one with layers on my face-âÂ
âSay that the next time you wanna use my face masks-â
âOk ladies! Youâre both absolutely gorgeous,â your mother interrupted your bickering as she made her way outside, âDo you wanna know how I know because you both got it from me,â she struck a pose and you let out a laugh while your brother rolled his eyes.Â
â(Y/N) are you not gonna bring a jacket?â your dad questioned as you slid into the car. You blinked at him before turning to Isaiah who shrugged.Â
âYouâre not serious,â you stated and your jaw dropped at the serious look on your dadâs face, âDad you canât be serious, itâs so hot.âÂ
â(Y/N) youâre not even wearing a shirt, it would give me peace of mind if you had something to cover yourself up.âÂ
See now, while your family got along well, there always was something within families wasnât there.Your dadâs opinions always seemed to clash heavily with you and your brotherâs (yours especially). The man disapproved of Isaiahâs group of friends and lack of participation in sports. The man also disapproved of your friends (aside from Kat and Lexi) and heavily disapproved of your fashion sense and the outfits you tended to wear. He usually didnât have to see any of the outfits you wore considering he was at work practically all the time, but he always had something to say when he was present.Â
âMan people are walking around shirtless and stuff dad itâs fine,â Isaiah tried to defend you.Â
âI wasnât talking to you Isaiah.âÂ
Your dad was also the only person who didnât call you or your siblings by your nicknames.Â
Isaiah rolled his eyes.Â
âOk ok, itâs fine,â youâre mother piped in, âhere (Y/N), you can have this cardigan,â You gave her a look of disbelief and she only shot you a pleading one back. Her expression alone told you, âplease, just leave itâ. You grit your teeth and snatched the cardigan from her, slouching into your seat aggressively as your dad nodded and started the car. Bea continued to watch whatever show she had preoccupied herself with and from the corner of your eye you could see Isaiahâs hand clenching and unclenching on his lap. You couldnât see his face but you wouldnât doubt he was as pissed as you.Â
_______________
The Cameron house was packed with people.Â
Well, not the house itself, but their large backyard was crawling with people. When Bea had told you that you guys would be heading to the Cameronâs for dinner you thought it wouldâve been with the Cameronâs and the Cameronâs alone.Â
âWelcome to your welcome party!â a man walked up to you and your family and you and Isaiah shared a look.Â
âWard, you didnât have to do all this,â your mother laughed and the man waved off her concerns before giving her a hug in greeting.Â
âThis was the least I could do for my new business partners. Now, this must be the (L/N) kids,â the man, Ward, turned to the three of you and Bea stepped up with the confidence that surpassed you and your brotherâs.Â
âHi Iâm Bethany, but everyone calls me Bea!â she introduced and Ward let out a joyful chuckle.Â
âNice to meet you Bea, Iâm Ward Cameron. I work with your daddy.âÂ
âI know,â Bea said matter of factly.Â
âOh, well then, itâs still great to meet you. And you two areâŠ?â He trailed off offering a hand out for your brother. Isaiah stepped forward, taking his hands out of his pockets and shaking his hand firmly.Â
âIsaiah,â he greeted with a nod and Ward nodded back.
âThen you must be (Y/N),â Ward guessed and you nodded with a polite smile.Â
âItâs great to meet you three. Iâve heard a lot of good things about you kids,â Ward praised and you tried not to roll your eyes. There was no way your dad was bragging about his kids and you assumed your mom just talked about your antics. She loved talking about your guysâs antics. Bea was likely the only one who actually got any praise from either of your parents at this point.Â
âWell thereâs food on those tables, take as much as you want. Seconds, thirds, go crazy,â Ward motioned to the long tables displayed with food, buffet style, âBea thereâs a few kids over there who I know would love to make a new friend,â Bea ran off at that, âand you two. My daughter Sarah and my son Rafe are somewhere over there with some others your guysâs age. I know you guys definitely donât wanna hang around when the old people start talking,â Ward laughed and your parents chuckled while you tried to hide your wince with a smile.Â
Ward ushered your parents off, leaving you and Isaiah to stand awkwardly looking over the crowd of people.Â
âWanna go get food?â Isaiah offered and you nodded eagerly.Â
_____________
Kiara was on enemy territory. If there was one thing she definitely had not wanted to do, it was go to a Kook party (in Sarah Cameronâs house nonetheless) to welcome a new Kook family, but her parents practically threatened her. Now she was here, trying to avoid all the Kooks (i.e Sarah) while her parents mingled with other parents. Kie had done a pretty good job slipping off so that she wasnât forced to talk to any one and was sitting on a chair that was basically hidden away from the rest of the crowd.
âSOS. god pls get me out of hereâ She texted her group chat with the other Pogues and threw her head back in irritation as she waited for a response.Â
âYâknow I think I just saw Chad, Brad, Tanner, and Hunter over there,â a voice she didnât recognize startled her and Kie looked up as you and a tall boy made your way over to the spot sheâd claimed. You were laughing, your cardigan sliding off your shoulders and both of you had a plate of food each.
âYeah, theyâre waiting for their homeboys Bryce, Brock, and Tucker,â you shot back and the boy barked out a laugh.Â
Kie smiled as she caught onto the jokes you guys were making. Yet her smile dropped as she realized that from your unfamiliar faces and your unique sense of style she could tell you two were two of the new kids from the new family. Aka the new Kooks who moved into Figure 8. Kiaraâs phone buzzed and she looked down at it.Â
âwant us to crash?â Pope had responded, though from how it was worded, Kie could bet that JJ had sent the message.Â
As down as she was for that, her parents were in attendance and theyâd probably ban her from ever seeing her friends again (not that something like that would stop her).Â
âHey uh,â Kiara jumped and looked up, making eye contact with you and your brother, âOh shit sorry, we were just wondering if we could sit here?âÂ
âYeah no, go ahead,â Kiara motioned to the empty chairs.
âThanks,â you smiled at her and Kiara admired your makeup now that you were much closer.Â
âIâm Isaiah by the way, but call me Zaya,â Isaiah raised his hand before motioning to you, âThis is my sister, (Y/N).âÂ
âIâm Kiara, but most people call me Kie,â Kie introduced and you and your brother nodded. Kiaraâs phone buzzed again, drawing attention to it.Â
âkie want us to come get u?â John B texted. Kie quickly picked up her phone so she could respond, she glanced between her phone and you and Isaiah before deciding.Â
ânah itâs okâÂ
â?â was the immediate response from Pope and Kie could almost hear the confusion.Â
âmet the new kids. theyre cool so farâÂ
âIf you say so. But jj says dont fall for itâÂ
Kie rolled her eyes but could understand the sentiment. She told them not to worry about it before putting her phone off to the side. You and your brother had started a different conversation while Kie had been otherwise preoccupied. Kie watched and listened to you two talk, justifying that it wasnât eavesdropping since youâd come and sat with her in the first place.Â
âThat sounds dumb but ok,â you offered and Isaiah scoffed.Â
âI mean I looked up if there was one around here but there isnât so what else am I gonna do.âÂ
âSorry, what isnât here?â Kie interrupted, curious about the context of the topic. Isaiah glanced at you before turning to Kie.Â
âSkate park,â he answered, âThere isnât one in the Outer Banks so I could just street skate, but thereâs nowhere to drop in. But I was also thinking of just going somewhere and bombing a hill.â
Kie wondered if she was losing her mind. She knew there wasnât a skate park on the island, the closest one was on the mainland. Most people who skated rode on longboards rather than actual skateboards and as far as she knew most people in the OBX just preferred to surf. But what had lost her was âdrop inâ and âbombing a hillâ.Â
âClosest skate parkâs on the mainland,â Kie confirmed and your brother seemed to deflate.Â
âYou skate?â You questioned and Kie shook her head.Â
âIâm a surfer. Not much to do when you live out here,â she joked.Â
âNo shit?â you asked and Kie looked up in thought but shrugged.Â
âWell me and my friends, we usually either surf, or we go out to the marsh. We swim, drink, smoke. Either out at the marsh or just at my friend, John Bâs, house. Sometimes we throw keggers. Have bonfires. We usually know how to occupy our time,â Kie wondered why she was speaking to these two so comfortably.Â
âParties?â Isaiah questioned and Kie winced.Â
âAside from keggers, people on the Cut donât really throw house parties. The Kooks are always throwing stuff like this though,â Kie nodded over to the event that was meant to welcome you and your family in the first place. You glanced back at the party/gathering that youâd practically forgotten about. Since youâd arrived you and your brother actively avoided interacting with the teenagers all dressed like they were pledged into Kappa Beta Who Gives a Shit.Â
âSorry, Kooks?â Isaiah questioned.Â
âOh um...Kooks are like the rich people, anyone who lives in Figure 8. Boarding schools, trust fund money, private tutors,â Kie explained.Â
âSo...weâre Kooks? Because we live out here?â you questioned incredulously. Kie nodded her head and you raised a brow. Sure, you werenât poor, youâd already established that. Back in California you lived just a few houses down from Cal Jacobs, who owned practically the entire town. You acknowledged that you were definitely more financially privileged than some people, but youâd never had the luxury of going to a private school (shoutout to East Highland) or having a private tutor. And even with as much money as your parents seemed to make, the idea of a trust fund was laughable.Â
âOBX is kinda split. John B always described it like...two tribes, one island,â Kie smiled as you and your brother gave her deadpanned expressions, âSo yâknow who the kooks are, but the other half are the Pogues. Basically the bottom of the food chain. Pogues live on the Cut, the poorer side of the island. Kooks and Pogues donât really get along.âÂ
âIâm gonna be completely honest with you, thatâs like the dumbest thing Iâve ever heard,â you stated bluntly.Â
âWait is this like...Socâs versus Greasers? Like The Outsiders?â Isaiah questioned and Kieâs eyebrows furrowed at the comparison.Â
âYou're telling me your whole island follows basic labelling like itâs an 80s high school movie?â you questioned in a state of shock and all Kie could do was nod. Kooks and Pogues and even Tourons were just something people knew growing up in the Outer Banks. Sheâd never really let it sink that other people probably found the concept ridiculous.Â
âDo you have bad experiences with...Pogues or something,â you questioned and Kie shook her head firmly.
âNah, Iâm no Kook. Theyâre entitled, narcissistic, assholes.âÂ
âSo youâre a Pogue? Then why are you here?â Isaiah laughed and Kie slumped in her seat.Â
âMy parents forced me here. I go to school with these assholes...but Iâd never be like them,â Kie shook her head as she caught sight of kids she recognized from the Kook academy. Her family was less upper class, and more working middle class if she really thought about it. Unlike a lot of the highly privileged Kooks, Kie knew what it was like to need to work for the money they had.Â
âSo then howâs being a Pogue going for you exactly?â you questioned. Deep down you knew that you probably shouldnât have been entertaining this whole Kook vs. Pogue thing but youâd also never encountered an entire county of people that was so blatantly classist.Â
âLiterally great. I surf all day, I get to hang with my friends. The best part is that itâs away from all of...this,â Kie motioned to the crowd that you had separated yourselves from, âSpeaking of, weâre actually having a kegger tomorrow. Would you guys be down to come?â Kie looked between you and your brother.Â
âUh yes, please,â you were quick to answer and Kie laughed, âHonestly I was preparing myself for the most boring fucking summer of my life, but Iâm really glad we met you,â you admitted.
âDefinitely wonât beat back home though,â Isaiah mentioned and you groaned. The thought of missing all the parties that were probably being thrown back in California made you frustrated.Â
âMan donât remind me.â
âYou guys moved here from California right?â Kie asked so that she could keep herself in the loop. It wasnât hard to pick up that you and your brother tended to go off into little conversations of your own but she understood that it was probably because neither of you knew Kie and therefore didnât know what to bring up in conversation. Kie was an extroverted person but this was something she noticed Pope doing a lot. Â
âYeah, LA actually,â Isaiah confirmed, âDefinitely not âParadise on Earth,â but...âÂ
âThereâs no place like the Outer Banks,â Kie said, though the sarcasm dripped from her entire being.Â
âMeh,â you shrugged off with a tone of disinterest and Kie laughed wholeheartedly.Â
_________
The three of you ended up talking for the entirety of the night. Kie was determined to stay completely hidden away from the rest of the partyâs residents, meaning she had kept herself planted in her chair for quite literally the entire time you guys were there. Isaiah, being how he was, had gotten up a few times to get more food or to grab something new to drink. He had come back with something for Kie each time.Â
Kie was interesting, she led the conversation a majority of the time and constantly kept it flowing. You appreciated someone who could work past awkwardness and still keep up a conversation. You ended up exchanging phone numbers and social media and had talked about a whole lot of shit; from keggers, to your outfit, to how moving felt. Isaiah and Kie had even gone on a pretty long debate about music, (something about the top 5 albums of all time, or was it how meaningful a playlist was? or maybe it was about whether it was ok to separate an artistâs actions from their music?).Â
Kie was a down to earth, do shit for herself, actions speak louder than words kind of girl. She spoke her mind about everything she was passionate about and though you werenât preaching about sea life and turtles, you could obviously understand where she came from with her frustrations, youâd just never really met anyone who was so deeply passionate about it.Â
The feeling of your phone vibrating against your leg took your attention off of Kie.Â
âHello?â you answered it and Kie paused.
â(N/N)! Where are you?!â Beaâs voice screeched and you furrowed your eyebrows in annoyance.Â
âIâm with Zaya, weâre sitting by like some trees, I donât know.â
âMom says weâre leaving right now!âÂ
âBea stop yelling,â you said firmly, âOk, weâll just meet you guys by the car then.âÂ
âOk!â your sister yelled and before you could snap at her she ended the call. You shook your head and put your phone into your bag.
âWe leaving?â Isaiah asked and you nodded as you gathered yourself and your belongings. Kie began to clean up as well, standing up and helping you and your brother out while you gathered up the empty water bottles and cans of soda. Now that Kie was standing you could see that she was actually a little taller than you originally thought.
âIt was really nice meeting you Kie,â you said sincerely and Kie smiled. After the three of you cleaned up she helped lead you guys toward the front of the house without having to deal with whoever was left over at the party. You wondered for a moment about how she was pretty familiar with the layout of the home.
âIâll see you guys at the kegger tomorrow?â Kie asked.Â
âUh, whereâs that gonna be again?â you questioned as you spotted your familyâs car.
âOh itâs on the Boneyard,â Kie explained and you only stared at her blankly, âUmmm, yâknow what. I could just pick you guys up?âÂ
âYeah for sure,â Isaiah said and you tried not to think about how weird it was going to be arriving at a party at the same time as your brother. That was something you tended to avoid doing when you were back home considering you usually went with your friends.Â
You and your brother bid Kie goodbye. Youâd never been the type of person to initiate hugging, so when she gave the two of you a wave you found yourself just waving back awkwardly.
Now you were settled in the car, heading back home after a ridiculously tiring day. Bea was going off on a tangent about one thing or another and Isaiah had fallen asleep, wedged rather uncomfortably against the car door. You were texting in your group chat, telling them all about Kie, Kooks, Pogues, and everything in between.Â
You wondered if you could finally get a dog.

skinny dipping

When you get out of the lap pool, all your muscles are loose and weak. The chlorine has settled in your hair and its distinct scent surrounds you as your tired legs carry you to your towel; you drop into a chair as soon as you reach one, ignoring the cold metal beneath your legs as you delight in the relaxation. Your breathing is hard and your heart is pounding as you gulp as much water as possible from your water bottle. All summer you had meant to make it to the pool, you honestly had. But you had been so preoccupied with cutting a million things off your bucket list before school started that you just forgot.
You felt that regret now, wishing you had just gone a couple times a month. That would have saved you the next three days of sore muscles. Your knees are already beginning to bruise from neglecting the stairs out of the pool by pulling yourself up from the edge. When you try to run a hand through your hair, your fingers get caught in the knots created by the chlorine; you groan, not even close to ready to brush it out later. For now, you pull it into a scrunchie high on the crown of your head while you bask in your dread. Youâre standing up when the door to the pool opens; it surprises you enough to make you jump, your tired muscles clenching in fright. You had made it a point to wake up early enough to get to the pool and finish well before the kids and their babysitters started pouring in. When you look at your phone, itâs only 7:15. You look up to meet eyes with a tall, grinning blonde.
â(Y/N)!â He exclaims, making you smile back widely.
âHi, Luke!â You greet, wrapping your arms around his warm, bare torso when he pulls you in for a hug.
Luke was a senior this year, and captain of the swim team. The two of you had gotten pretty close last year as he had always volunteered to drive the underclassmen home in the minivan he had inherited from his mother. You had almost exclusively gotten the front seat, and you were always last to be dropped off which inevitably led to the two of you gossiping about the other people on the team. Luke had most definitely made your transition into high school much more comfortable, and you always made sure to let him know.
âYou excited for swim to start?â He asks, and you glare at him with playful eyes.
âTake another look at me and ask that question again.â You deadpan. He giggles, his eyes bright and you canât help but let loose a smile. âWhat about you?â
âOf course.â His voice is light as he sets his things on the bench next to you. You canât help but watch as the muscles of his shoulders ripple and you avert your eyes quickly.
It was no secret to your friends that you had a big schoolgirl crush on Luke. The close friendship the two of you shared had tricked your heart into developing feelings for him and as much as you tried to deny it, you really did adore Luke with everything in you.
âI shouldâve kept up on workouts this summer.â You scold yourself to him and he shrugs.
âI only started a few weeks ago. The season doesnât technically start for another two months, and we donât start practices for another month.â You stare at him and he laughs again, shaking his head. âYou have time. And if you need motivation, we can work out together.â He suggests.
You struggle to keep the grin off your face as you give him a casual smile. âYeah, that sounds good. When do you usually come?â
âJust around this time on Mondays and Thursdays. Iâll text you on Thursday and Iâll just pick you up on my way here. Sound good?â
You nod as your lips quirk up. You stand, grabbing your keys and your swim bag, bidding him a quick farewell and turning your back to him so he couldnât see the face-splitting grin you were sporting.
Despite your sore muscles, you felt better that day than you had all summer.
Thursday morning, youâve gone through all the possible scenarios in your head. You arenât anxious, because youâre already close to Luke, but you are excited. So excited that you canât sit down. Your swim bag has been unpacked and repacked enough times that you could take a mental inventory. Youâre just putting on a loose shirt over your shorts and swimsuit when your phone chimes.
Luke: Iâm outside :-)
You slide your jandals on and grab your bag and water bottle from your bed before rushing to the front door. You close it behind you, allowing the late summer air of the early morning wash over you. You turn to face Lukeâs car, which had been replaced and was no longer a minivan.
A sleek black car sits in your driveway and your narrow your eyes in confusion, but your pace stays constant when you see Lukeâs smiling face in the driverâs side.
âNew wheels?â The words have fallen from your lips as soon as youâre settled in the soft leather seats. Despite how early it is, the air conditioner is blasting and a Hippo Campus song is pouring lowly from the speakers.
He chuckles softly, shrugging. âBeen saving up for a few years and the minivan died, so there was no better time.â
He pulls out of the driveway and you look over at him, watching carefully as he taps his fingers on the wheel to the beat of the music. The car smells of leather and chlorine from yours and Lukeâs duffel bags by your feet and in the backseat, respectively. You smile softly at him and turn away, looking out the window.
In an unfairly short amount of time, youâre parked in the parking lot of the indoor pool and youâre stepping through the doors, the humidity already hitting you. Luke smiles at the girl standing behind the counter, a girl you recognize as the teacherâs aide for your biology class last year. You think sheâs in Lukeâs grade, and you think you catch her with a disdainful look when she sees you behind the tall blonde. You smile at her anyway and walk through the doors leading to the locker rooms and the water. The two of you skip past the lockers and walk straight for the pool.
Thereâs music playing over the speakers, echoing around the room and suddenly, youâre nervous. You donât understand why, because youâd swam with Luke a hundred times before, but for some reason, things were different now.
Itâs almost two full hours before the two of you are ready to call it good. Youâre sore, but not nearly as sore as you were on Monday. Lukeâs giggling at you as you struggle to get out of the water, your aversion to ladders still very much apparent.
âCâmere.â He chuckles, moving toward you and outstretching a hand. You grip it tightly with both hands and he uses his other hand to grip your own forearm. With a foot as high on the wall as you can get it, Lukeâs body pulls back and youâre suddenly out of the water, your feet on the slick ground as the tall blonde before you allowed his hand to fall from your arm to your back to ensure your stability.
Whatever snicker was once floating through the air from either of you had disappeared as you looked up at him, his hand firmly against the small of your back holding you to him as you gripped his hand in both of yours. He takes a deep breath, and suddenly both of your hands are off of him and heâs taking a step back. You allow yourself to laugh in order to lighten the mood, walking carefully to where your bags sat.
âAre you gonna shower, or do you just want to dip?â You ask, grabbing your towel and wiping off your face.
Against Lukeâs better judgment, he decides to go straight home. You both towel off, pulling your clothes back on, pushing away the slight awkwardness by throwing jokes back at one another. By the time you get back to his car, the two of you are back to normal and youâre careful to keep your wet hair from dripping on his nice leather seats. The ride to your house is full of music and jokes and laughs. When he pulls into your driveway, he puts his car in park and turns to look at you.
âDo you want to you go out? Like on a date?â
Youâre shocked at his words, and in a rare moment of bravery, you look at him with wide eyes. âAre you telling me this wasnât a date?â You tease, making him groan. âYes, Luke. I would love to go on a date with you.â
âGreat. Is Saturday okay?â He asks, and you nod, a large smile on your face.
You lean across the center console and press a chaste kiss to his cheek before hopping out, swiftly making your way to the front door and letting yourself inside. With pink cheeks and a squeal, you canât help but immediately begin planning.
âThis isnât lame, is it?â Lukeâs voice breaks through the low chatter of silverware against ceramic plates and talks in the diner. You laugh softly and shake your head, the air conditioning blasting through the restaurant despite the fact that the sun was down.
âNo, I love it here. You know that.â You assure the blonde boy sitting across from you. Maddyâs was a cute little diner that had been settled early in the sixties just down the street from your neighborhood. It was always packed full of teenagers, as it was the only restaurant in town that was cheap enough to go regularly and open 24 hours a day. You adored Maddyâs, and Luke was well aware.
âI wanted to take you somewhere new, but I forgot to make reservations somewhere.â He says bashfully. Itâs rare for Luke to look so shy, and it almost takes you off guard. Almost. You smile softly at him from across the table.
âThis is perfect.â You say. He grins.
The smell of hamburgers and fries arises quickly as Hallie, a sweet girl in the grade between yours and Lukeâs brings your food to the table. âAlright, guys, is there anything else I can get for you?â She asks, and Luke shakes his head with a friendly smile.
âNo, thank you, Hallie.â He says warmly. You watch Hallie fight the blush that takes over her cheeks as she nods and walks away. You look at him in awe and he looks back at you in confusion. âWhat?â
âHow the hell do you do that?â You inquire, and he furrows his brows.
âDo what?â He retorts, grabbing a few fries from the overflowing basket before him. You roll your eyes.
âGet every single girl you talk to fall at your feet.â You say, causing him to scoff loudly.
âI donât.â He says, and you laugh sarcastically.
âYouâre kidding. All you had to do was smile at Hallie to make her blush, and Iâm pretty sure the girl at the pool wants to hang me by my ankles every time she sees us together. Every girl thatâs ever laid eyes on you is automatically entranced, follows your every move right on your heels.â You say, picking at your own food.
âNot every girl.â He says. You look up at him, seeing a small smile play on his lips.
âMaybe some of us are resistant to your charm.â You tease. Luke chuckles, shaking his head.
âHave I told you just how gorgeous you look tonight?â He says, a smirk tugging at his lips as you kick his leg softly under the table.
âLaying in on a little thick there, Hemmings,â You giggle. âbut thank you.â Luke catches one of your legs between his, but he doesnât say anything. Instead, he smiles sweetly and picks up his food.
The two of you remained in the diner for several more hours, giggling loudly and playfully teasing one another. By the time you leave, Maddyâs is nearly empty. The only booth left, a group of boys, whoop loudly at the two of you as you step out the door and Luke glares hard at them, but you canât help the soft laugh that falls from your lips.
The walk back to your house envelops the two of you in a warm breeze. Your arm brushes Lukeâs every once in a while as the two of you speak softly. The walk to your house isnât nearly long enough, and when the two of you are standing under your porch light, Luke pretends that he doesnât realize how warm it is, his large hands rubbing your bare arms. âWe should do this again.â He says. You smile up at him and nod. His eyes flicker to your lips, before he leans down and presses his lips to yours. You raise up on your toes, gripping the tee shirt at his waist while one of his hands fell to your hip and the other to your lower back. You moan softly as Luke pulls you into him, parting your lips slightly to allow him access.
He pulls away a few seconds later, his breathing slightly heavier than normal. âSo, weâre still on for Monday?â He jokes. You laugh softly, resting your forehead on his chest.
âYeah, I suppose so.â
He presses a chaste kiss on your lips before hopping down the stairs, sending a soft smile over his shoulder before making his way home.
You smile gently, letting yourself inside and ignoring your heavily beating heart.
When you wake on Monday, you get ready a little too quickly. Youâre excited to see Luke after your date on Saturday, more excited than you are nervous. The part of your subconscious that doesnât want you to be happy makes you worry that Luke has realized that youâre too immature for him, or not pretty enough, or generally not interesting enough.
You choose to ignore that part of your brain.
It isnât long before Lukeâs name pops up on your phone to inform you that heâs parked out front, so you grab your swim bag from the foot of your bed and rush outside to see him. The sun shines in your eyes and reflects off of the black car in your driveway, so you squint on your way to your seat.
âGood morning,â he sing-songs, and you smile sweetly at him.
âGood morning.â You mimic him. He chuckles softly, allowing his hand to fall to your thigh as he reverses out of your driveway.
âAre you ready for training today?â He asks, and you roll your eyes, your hand moving to rest on top of his.
âIâm sure I can handle whatever you throw at me.â You laugh, and he shakes his head.
âDonât think Iâm gonna go easy on you just because I think youâre cute,â he teases, and you ignore the blush raising up your neck. âI let you off easy on Thursday because it was your first workout with me, but today weâre working hard.â
âIâm sure Iâll be fine.â You assure him.
Less than half an hour later, youâve sprawled yourself across the cement next to the pool, Luke staring at you from the water.
âRemember how confident you were that you could handle this?â He teases, and you move your head to glare at him.
âFuck off.â You groan. He laughs.
âYou calling it quits?â He asks you.
âGod, yes. Put me out of my misery.â You whimper. You arenât usually one to admit defeat, but you can barely breath. Luke pulls himself out of the pool and you watch him, blushing at the sight of his strong arms lifting him out of the water. He stands above you and you stare up at him, lazily reaching your hand out to him. He chuckles softly, gripping your hand and pulling you up as well. His hand rests on your hip, pulling you into him, much like Saturday night.
âHello.â He teases, and you groan again, resting your head against his chest and sighing, allowing your breathing to slow.
âWhy do you hate me?â You ask him sarcastically. He laughs loudly, hugging you close to him. Your arms wrap around him.
âI donât hate you, I adore you.â He says, rubbing your back. âHow âbout we go out to breakfast?â He suggests. You lean back, your arms still around one another as you stare up at him.
âCan I shower first? I smell like chlorine.â You say, and he scoffs with a smile.
âYeah, weâll shower.â He says with a nod, leaning down to your height. You grin, stepping up on your toes to press your lips to his. His tongue immediately runs along your bottom lip, urging you to open your mouth. You, of course, indulge him and part your lips, his tongue running across the roof of your mouth. You shudder against him, and in turn, feel how excited heâs gotten. He moans softly into your mouth and your hands grip his back, your fervor increasing. He pulls away with heavy breathing, resting his head against your own. âWeâd better get going.â He says, and you nod.
Letting go of him, the two of you walk closely together until you get to the adjacent doors of the two locker rooms. âI shouldnât be long, maybe ten minutes?â You say, and he nods swiftly, carefully trying to conceal his hard-on. You turn on your heel, walking quickly into the locker room behind you.
Youâre only slightly overwhelmed because now you know that Luke is as attracted to you as you are to him. Also, because you know that less than twenty feet from you, heâs just as turned on as you are.
In a moment of uncharacteristic boldness, you turn around and walk confidently into the menâs locker room across the hall. âLuke?â You call out, already hearing the running water.
â(Y/N)?â He asks, and at the sound of his voice, all confidence that had filled you just seconds before has been lost as quickly as it had come across you as you blanch. This is weird, itâs so weird, and youâre embarrassed.
âI-um...I think I forgot m-my soap, so...do you have any extra, maybe?â Itâs a poor excuse, and you know it before it even falls from your lips.
Luke laughs. He already knows. âCâmere.â He says, soft but demanding. You listen to him, walking timidly to the running shower. The air is steamy and youâre acutely aware of his swimsuit draped over the bench near his bag. With a quick glance to the clock, ensuring it was still far too early for any of the usuals to come, you reach his shower. His eyes lock on you immediately, his hand reaching out for you. You take a step forward, bringing yourself into reaching distance as he grips your hip and presses you against him. While you had avoided looking at his lower half when you stepped into the shower, you know now that you didnât need to. You can feel him pressing against you. âNow, whatâre you doing in here?â He asks, his voice significantly lower now than it had been before.
âUm...I donât know, I guess. Looking for you.â Youâre much shyer than you felt was appropriate, considering the two of you were one layer away from being completely bare against one another.
His fingers play with the zipper on your suit, looking to you for permission. You nod softly, staring up at him as he unzips it, pulling the straps off your shoulders. âLooking for me, huh?â He looks up just before your suit uncovers your breasts and closes the curtain behind him. He looks back to you with a sweet smile, the change in his demeanor sudden. His hands return to the top of your suit and, with one more look for the go-ahead, he pulls it down to your waist. His hands immediately move to your chest, leaning down to attach his lips to your exposed decolletage. He pushes the rest of your suit down and when you kick it off, he bends down, grabbing it from around your ankles and hanging it on the hook across from you.
You giggle at his care for your swimsuit and he smiles at you, before kneeling again and kissing up your leg. Whatever laugh was left on your lips is immediately cut off by the deep breath you take. His hands hold your hips tightly as his lips move right up to the crux of your thighs before moving to the bottom of your other leg. You canât do anything to slow your heavy breathing as you watch him, your hand reaching down to wrap into his hair. He looks up to you, sees the desperation on your face, and smirks. His hand hooks around your ankle and throws your leg over his shoulder, leaving you exposed to him. He hums softly, before leaning forward and licking a thick stripe up your slit. You moan loudly and he leans back to look up at you. âBaby, youâve got to be quiet.â He insists, and you nod with a lip between your teeth. He resumes, taking another long swipe over you slit before wrapping his lips around your clit, sucking softly. He moans against you and grips your hip firmly.
Your hand flies to your face to cover your mouth. âOh, my god,â you murmured. The hand still curled in his hair tugs lightly to get his attention. He pulls away and you remove your leg from over his shoulder, pulling him up to stand before you. He licks his lips before he presses them to yours, the taste of yourself still lingering. His lean body presses you against the wall. Your hand reaches between your bodies, finding his cock and wrapping your hand around him. He gasps against your mouth as you lazily stroke him. You shudder at the size of him in your hand, breaking the kiss to look down at where youâre holding him. You moan outright at the sight of it, as does he. He kisses you chastely again before gripping your wrist and pulling your hand off of him. âI want to fuck you.â
Too turned on to say give a proper response, you say, âIâm on the pill.â
Luke silently thanks god. You thank your dermatologist.
His hand grips your thigh, hooking your leg around his hips. âYâwant me to fuck you?â He murmurs.
His words shock you and itâs all you can do not burst into tears. You nod fervently, âPlease. Please, Luke.â Your hips move toward him, causing him to chuckle. His hips meet yours, rubbing himself against you without slipping inside. You whimper, both of your hands gripping his biceps.
âCâmon, pretty girl, can I hear you say it?â He asks, his voice sweet, a stark contrast against the way his cock is slipping through your folds.
âI want you to fuck me, Luke. Please.â You moan. The desperation in your voice is clear and he moans, gripping himself and pushing in.
Your fingernails dig into his shoulders, both of your faces screwed up in pleasure as he gives you a moment to adjust to him. As soon as he draws his hips back, you realize youâve only felt half of him inside you and you whimper again, pulling him close to you. He pushes in again, settling fully inside of you. You moan loudly, biting your lips as Lukeâs hand immediately covers your mouth. He begins to thrust, setting a steady pace. Your nails continue to dig into his shoulders as his dig into your hips, holding you in place with his free hand as he thrusts into you. The hand covering your mouth slips down to wrap gently around your throat and you have to force yourself to keep quiet. âFaster, Luke. Please.â You beg, one of your hands reaching to grip the wrist resting on your chest.
He complies, drawing his hips back and pounding into you. All you can hear is running water and Lukeâs skin slapping against yours, and all you can feel is Luke slamming into you. The hand holding your hip moves to your clit, the speed and strength of his hips not subsiding. His fingertips rub your clit firmly as he leans in to speak to you.
Youâre embarrassingly close for how short the two of you have been going, and the sound of his voice only brings you closer to the brink of your orgasm. âSâthat feel good? You like when I fuck you like that?â He asks heavily, panting in your ear.
âYes, Luke, fuck,â You moan, pulling him closer to you as you moan into his shoulder.
âFuck, baby, you feel so good.â He moans, and if you werenât so close to coming that you were almost hysterical, youâd giggle at how vocal he is.
âOh, my god. Iâm close, Luke, please,â Youâre babbling, but seeing him begin to lose control shows you that heâs close too. He hums, adding more pressure to your clit and attaching his lips to the junction of your neck and shoulder, and this is exactly what pushes you over the edge.
Your brows furrow and your head tilts back against the wall behind you as your orgasm washes over you. You walls clench around Luke and his hips stutter. âOh, fuck, (Y/N),â he groans against your neck as you trigger his orgasm. The fingers wrapped around your neck tighten slightly as he comes in you, a loud moan falling from his lips. Your own hand covers his mouth, causing you to giggle softly as he twitches against you. âJesus Christ.â He says softly. He pulls out and you drop your leg, allowing your body to rest against the wall behind you. Both of you are breathing heavily but this doesnât stop him from pressing a kiss to your lips, pulling you close to him. âAre you good?â He asks after he pulls away, and you canât help but smile at him.
âAbsolutely.â You say, pressing a soft kiss to his shoulder. The two of you stand under the running water for only a minute or two before Luke breaks the silence.
âSo...breakfast?â
