So, Spy × Family Season 2 will start airing on October 7th...
I'm sure they'll release a pv later this (or next?) weekend, but for now let's enjoy the new key visual of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least we got something from the anime this week, so it's okay for me that the manga takes another break this weekend.

He Plays the Violin
If someone had told 20 year old Marty Deeks that one day he would be sitting on the couch with his girlfriend, watching a rebroadcast of a symphony, he would have scoffed. Yet here he sat, happily doing just that. It had taken a little coaxing to convince Kensi, but now she seemed enthralled by the performance.
During a particularly lively version of Rhapsody in Blue, Kensi nudged his shoulder with her elbow. “You know, something you’ve never shown me—?”
“Can’t be much at this point,” Deeks interrupted, speaking over the music. “I’m pretty sure I’ve shown you everything I’ve got.” He winked at Kensi, just in case she didn’t get the innuendo.
“Yes, it’s very impressive,” Kensi said, pausing to give him a once over. “That’s not what I’m talking about though. It’s something more skill-based.”
“Oh, I’ve got all kinds of skills.” Deeks grinned at Kensi’s groan.
“Deeks, stop it.”
Shifting to face her, he adopted a serious expression. “Sorry, go on.”
Inhaling shallowing, Kensi pressed her palms together. He couldn’t imagine what was about to say.
“Remember when you mentioned taking violin lessons?” she asked.
“Yeeees. Why?”
“Well, this concert reminded me that you’ve never played for me.”
“Kensi—”
“Baby, please?”
“I’m not that good,” Deeks protested, even as Kensi looked at him pleadingly. “I haven’t had a lesson in years.”
“But you’ve played since then, right?”
“Yeah,” he admitted reluctantly. Smoothing her hand up through his hair, Kensi cupped one of his cheeks.
“Hey, I won’t push it anymore if you really don’t want to, but I would really love to hear you play,” she said, which was remarkably convincing.
“Fine.” Sighing, Deeks pushed himself off the couch, heading for his bedroom. He felt Kensi’s eyes on him the entire way.
Even though he didn’t play regularly, he still kept his violin in good condition and stored it along with some other fragile items in his closet. When he came out a few minutes later with the violin tucked under his arm and the bow in his other hand, Kensi sat up, clapping her hands together in delight.
Deeks gave her a wry look, tucking a leg under him as he sat down. He plucked a couple strings, lowering his head in concentration. He spent a several minutes tuning the strings, adjusting the little knobs on either side. When he was reasonably satisfied with the sound, he turned to face Kensi again, and found her watching him.
“To reiterate, it’s been a few years since I even touched this, so listen at your own risk,” he warned Kensi one final time, tucking the violin under his chin, and bringing the bow up.
He chose a piece he’d taught himself in high school. The first few drags of the bow across the strings were a little rough, but he quickly fell into the rhythm, relaxing as motor memory took over. He closed his eyes, leaning into the emotion of the music, letting certain notes swell while other were softer and more subtle.
He played the final note, drawing the bow back slowly to end, and opened his eyes again. Kensi stared back at him, her lips slightly parted, her expression stunned.
“Sorry, guess I got a little caught up in the music,” he said, feeling oddly embarrassed. “My teacher always complained about that. Didn’t remember the audience.”
“No, Deeks, that was—that was beautiful,” Kensi quickly assured him. “I’ve never heard that song before.”
“It’s called “Ashokan Farewell”.
“It’s beautiful.” She leaned forward suddenly, cupping his face as she kissed him fervently. Deeks moved the violin out of crushing range. When Kensi pulled back, there was a fiery gleam in her eyes. “That was one of the sexiest things I’ve ever seen,” she told him, fingers slowly, but sure,y moving down his chest.
“Yeah, Mrs. Kayler definitely never said that,” he joked, a little breathless with Kensi’s unexpected response.
Sliding off the couch, Kensi took his hand, tugging him with her. Deeks started to set the violin to the side, but she shook her head.
“No, bring it with,” she said, guiding him back towards his bedroom.

A/N: “Ashokan Farewell” is a piece written by Jay Ungar and featured in several of Ken Burns’ documentaries.
Title taken from the song of the same name from the musical “1776”.

Space Channel 5 Part 2: Sugoku Sugoi  Guide Book p. 126-129 (Translations by @lavoszero and myself. Edits and typesetting by myself)
Third part of Report 5.

Plain text below.
p. 126 Fuse's Broadcast Notes
Report 5 & Repeat 5 As a reminder, these are instructions for the live broadcast of  "Ulala's Swingin' Report Show" on Space Channel 5, prepared by its director, Fuse, who also  doubles as the leader of its Special Report Team. In this document are detailed explanations of the secret input locations. Modifications made for the rerun broadcasts for "Ulala's Swingin' Report Show" (Reruns have unique features from the first airing) are also included. Note, the timing and locations of the secret inputs are exactly the same between the main (Lap 1) and rerun broadcasts (Lap 2).
The Hidden Inputs
1:After Defeating Loads and Loads of Robots The oh-so-common “Stay [pikoon] tuned!” secret appears to close off your victory in overcoming the 360 shooting battle within this room. You’ll say "stay" as usual, but the "tuned!" gets snatched up by Pudding, so get used to that.
“Staaaaaay [beat] tuned!”
2~5: When Starting the Battle of the Bands The Shadows, led by Shadow, are challenging you to a full on Battle of the Bands. It’s only fair for everyone to have a proper introduction, with some bonus secrets to go along with them! Press the button in time with Pudding, Pine, Space Michael, and the Morolian Boss getting into the swing of things.

“Ho! [beat]”
“Hyahh, moro! [beat]”
When You Save Jaguar The leader of The Shadows is actually Jaguar. Whoa! Okay, so this part is another one of those group dances, like the ones you do after rescuing those being forced to dance. It’s a "Chalaalaala! Yeah!" with the "yeah" being the secret input spot, as always!
[It's a lil' different from the usual "Chalaalaala! Yeah!" tune but it's basically the same song. Keep up the good work, Ulala, go go!]
Various Noize Quotes Unfortunately, things weren’t looking too hot for me after Report 4 (I wasn’t trying to fake anything, honest), so the responsibility of issuing instructions and comments was given to Noize from there on out! Use Noize's reactions to check your own performance results of the report!

p. 128 Rebroadcast (2nd Lap) Choreography
Report 5 & Repeat 5 Alright Ulala, this is the end of the choreography pages for the rebroadcasts. Will you miss me? Well, sorry, but there's not much I can do about it, since there aren't many differences between the original Report 6 and its rerun. But, I'll still help explain the secret inputs for Report 6, so look forward to that.
A Shadowy Reunion! The Shadows! "The band is back!" Based on that title, I guess we’re focusing  on The Shadows’ reunion. The first section of the Mystery Zone was just a place to have fun and fight against the lil' roboties… Oh, by the by, the Silhouettes room is the only part in that section with differing commands to the original broadcast. The Shadows is composed of the same "SCH5 All-Star" cast as before. The leader, Shadow, is the keyboardist, the two robots on the right are the guitarist and drummer, and on the left is the chorus singer and MC (rapper?) respectively. And since this is a reunion, it doesn't appear anyone's been replaced, like the Space Cheerleaders and the Space Dog Trainer. Actually, since the members are mostly robots, it's hard to tell if they're different… I guess Jaguar (MIA) was abducted and brainwashed by Purge yet again. Well, it's more likely than not, otherwise Shadow wouldn't be here. Ulala, win the battle and break them up again!
["Aagh," Shadow, the leader of The Shadows, is in pain here. But I feel like I'm seeing double with Jaguar~!]

Oh look, it's another vsinger/utaite post... again, who'd've thought.
A lot happened this week and i don't want to flood your dashboard so long post it is...
First and i think what i've been looking forward to the most was Tamu's first live concert, and quite honestly i'm still amazed by pretty much everything about it. There wasn't a live band or a big screen with visuals to serve as eye-candy, but they made up for it with what i think was one of the best visual performances from an independent i've ever seen.
Like, she had two dancers for certain songs who were absolutely stunning, like the m o v e s they were pulling, and she actually danced on a couple of songs herself. And on top of that, they actually made her newest designs into actual outfits, you see these designs?
youtube
youtube
Yeah they're real, and not like in a "this looks like a cosplay way" no it's like the right materials and everything she actually looks like this^^, she even did the inner yellow on her hair it's crazy. I know they did the outfits for the La Prière shows but i didn't think they'd do the same for her own concert, and i think that's very cool.
(If you wanna see them, there's photos of the "Persona" one on her Twitter, and she actually did a watchalong where you can see like 20mins of the concert, it's unlisted but she keeps the links on her Twitter.)
Now visuals are cool and all but the singing is where it's at, and holy god she has no chill, like literally i think there was like one calm song, which was still quite upbeat. It never ceases to impress me how she can go immediately from her lower talking voice to the super high notes her songs have, and i love the pairing of it with the heavy instrumentation of her songs in a live setting, the first half of the concert sounded huge and she cuts straight though with her vocals.
I guess i should mention it, but while "Endgame" was the song i was looking forward to the most, i cannot get "Trade Off" out of my head ever since, particularly that "Kyou mo nemurenai de iru no wa, koko wa mou sude ni yume no naka" hook, i never thought much of the song before and now it's probably one of my favorites, goes to show how much live concerts can change your perception of certain tracks.
My only issue with the concert is that they didn't allow the crowd to mosh during the heavier songs, particularly the breakdown in Endgame.
Tangential to Tamu is that she dropped a new cover today with the LaPri gals, and there is like a billion things i could say about it but i need to mention that this makes the third time nayuta's using a inner pink short hair look so that means you can add another design to the roster:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(She's the last one to get 3D'd because they can't decide what design they should go with.)
On the Kamitsubaki side, Joucho's had her second live concert Anima II, which i'd love to say i could comment more on, but i couldn't watch it since it came exactly the same time as Tamu's. Which sucks because from what i saw from screenshots and reports not only it looked really cool, but i'm really curious about what's going on with the Sinka live series and Kamicity, i feel like the story is finally starting to make some sense but i've been having less and less opportunities to follow it. They usually do rebroadcasts a couple months after, though, so something to look forward to.
In other news, Harusaruhi got moefied!
Tumblr media
(She's now legally required to cover Yoidore Shirazu, it's just the way it is)
Not even surprised, considering pretty much every single official material of her has been done by Isshiki, i mean the moment i saw HARU's official illustration was done by them i knew a redesign was coming. I cannot remember when was the last time i saw something done by her old illustrator, but to be honest i cannot remember things in general.
(I'm aware of the less than official reasons too, which i don't give much credit to but find it hard to completely disregard)
I like it? But i feel like at this point the original is evergreen to me, like it's what i think about when i picture Harusaruhi. I'm sure it'll grow on me but i'm not super crazy in love with it as of now. MAJOR point of contention on the headphones tho, the old ones were super cool with the chain and the spikes.
The song that came with it tho is super cool and i can't believe it's not Takayan, it really stays true to the sound of her latest stuff, which i really like. Though i can't lie i miss the more hip-hop-y vibe from the older songs hopefully the "2005 edgy teenager" look means more of that for the future.
On the Sinsekai, VALIS had a freebie live recently, which was cool. Though it's not a group i'm excited about, i've been listening to them a lot ever since i've picked up their coming, so i got some newfound appreciation for them.
Anyways here's Myu because i like her:
Tumblr media
(Go listen to Katsuairon now it's finally on streaming it's the best one of the solo singles plus look at her it's Myu)
I'll do a separate post for the birthday girl because obviously.

EUROVISION STARTED TODAY AND I MISSED IT!!
I cant believe i completely forgot that the eurovision semi-finals started today (well technically yesterday since its long past midnight) and I’m ever so disappointed in myself right now that i didn’t see it and therefore haven’t been part of the tumblr hype, but trust me i will be a part of it on thursday when the second semi-final will take place!
So this is kind of a warning to those who are not interested in the song contest and wishes to free their bashboard of its contents in the coming days. I will therefore tag everything as #eurovision and/or #eurovision 2019

Interview with Liella!’s Second Generation Members - Suzuhara Nozomi
Suzuhara Nozomi-san joined Liella! after qualifying through the public auditions. After hiding what she truly loved for most of her life, this interview tells the story of the path she took to become a part of the “Love Live!” series she loves so much.
I remember feeling really glad that I attended the audition on that day, and thinking that my experience there would definitely help me later in life.
Tumblr media
I hid what I truly loved to keep myself from getting hurt and getting made fun of
First up, could you tell us a little about what you liked and what your dreams were as a kid?
I’ve always loved idols since around when I was in third grade, and I’d sing and dance to myself in front of the mirror. I definitely looked up to them, but never in my wildest dreams did I think that I could become one, so I wrote about something more realistic in my elementary school graduation essay. Because of that, I almost forgot that I wanted to become an idol at some point. But I do remember scribbling “I want to be an idol!” in the margins of the notes I took. I once had the chance to participate in something like a debate in elementary school, and the topic was about idols we liked. I ended up crying after hearing my classmates belittle the idol I liked so much. After that experience, I concluded that I should avoid talking about the things I liked, and that was exactly what I did. I really hated getting hurt and having what I loved be dismissed by others whenever I talked about it, and I didn’t want others to make fun of me.
I see. That sounds like a painful experience. How did you come to know about the “Love Live!” series from there?
My older sister and mother were in Tokyo to take a look at the venue for her entrance exams, and I was alone at home with my father. I turned on the TV because I had nothing to do, and a rebroadcast of the fifth episode of the first season of the “Love Live!” series was airing. I immediately got hooked on the story and how cute Nico-chan was. That was when I started watching the anime. I started wanting to attend a live performance, so I looked it up, but that just so happened to be the day after µ’s’ Final Live… That was a huge shock. I had heard about the “Love Live!” series quite some time ago, but I had my middle school entrance exams to worry about at that time. I knew that I’d get hooked if I started watching, so I didn’t pay much attention to the anime then. I was down in the dumps for a while after that, thinking to myself that I should’ve started watching earlier and wondering what I did to deserve this. That was why I wanted to follow Aqours from the very start. I attended a live viewing for their First Live and even attended one of their fan meetings. I managed to catch quite a few of their activities.
Knowing I had to change, I gathered my resolve to apply for the auditions
What was your first reaction to the public auditions?
I was actually at the venue on the second day of Love Live! Fest [1], and I got to see the new project’s announcement with my very own eyes. I learned about the public auditions a little while after, but I didn’t expect myself to even apply at that time. I thought they would only accept one applicant, so I remember thinking that the person they picked would definitely be someone really amazing. After a while, I saw the teaser illustration for “Love Live! Superstar!!” on Twitter. Up until that point, I was just a fan wondering who would end up getting picked but seeing the illustration sparked something within me. That happened to be when I was in my final year of high school, and even though I had to decide my future path, I was uneasy about it. That was the moment when I realized that my love for the “Love Live!” series was second to none, and this was the only path forward for me. I was also really happy that I managed to find a dream for myself, given that I never had anything that I really wanted to do up till that point. My mother is also a huge fan of the “Love Live!” series, so much so that she even attended some of the live performances with me. Knowing that I was feeling uneasy about the future, she was the one who gave me a push on my back.
Was there anything that stood out to you during the audition?
During the final audition round, I was told that in this industry, the nail that sticks out doesn’t get hammered down, so I should give it my all. Since I had always hid what I truly loved, that phrase really resonated with me. I remember feeling really glad that I attended the audition on that day, and thinking that my experience there would definitely help me later in life. I wanted to give it my all so that I wouldn’t leave any regrets, but everyone else at the audition was just shining so bright… When I arrived at the venue, I almost lost myself in the atmosphere. I was really afraid. As I was taking my seat, I noticed a girl who was sitting all alone. I felt a connection with her since I thought we were pretty similar, so I struck up a conversation with her and we got to know each other. We became partners for the acting part of the final audition round, so we got through it by motivating each other to do our best. We became such good friends that I still keep in contact with her now. I remember Date-san talking about a girl that she met during the auditions who wrote her a letter in her first interview. That was her.
I heard that you met Date-san during the final audition round.
We passed by each other at the venue, and my friend introduced her to me as Sayuri-chan. Even though it was right before the audition, she waved at me with a huge smile on her face. That smile left a really strong impression on me, and I thought it was amazing that she was able to smile even in a situation like that. I was in tears after the audition ended… But that was the first time I had makeup put on me and I didn’t want to ruin it, so I left the venue while looking at the sky. I contacted my mother saying that I failed, with 99.9% certainty, before heading home. Where did the 0.1% come from, I wonder? (laughs) Maybe I just wanted to leave a glimmer of hope, no matter how small it was.
Getting picked as a second-generation member! A year of doing my best in my own way
The 0.1% became a reality and you were selected to join the “Love Live! Superstar!!” project as a second-generation member. How did you react when you received the audition results?
I received a call quite some time after the final audition happened. My mother was the one who answered the call, and she got all excited for some reason (laughs). After taking over the call, I was asked whether I’d be willing to participate as a second-generation member. I honestly had no idea what they meant by “second-generation” and couldn’t digest all the information on the spot, so I hung up after saying “Give me some time to think about it.” After hanging up, I realized that they might have been giving me an offer to become one of the cast, which made me call them back immediately since I felt I needed to answer “Yes!” right away. The conversation after that went something like “You don’t sound too happy, is something the matter?”, to which I replied, “No, I’m really really happy!”. But, to be completely honest, I didn’t really know what was going on… (laughs) I’m pretty sure they gave me more details about how things would work during that call, but my mind was just floating off somewhere.
After getting selected to be part of the “Love Live! Superstar!!” project, were there any changes to your lifestyle or your feelings?
It pains me to say this, but I really had no stamina… I’ve always been terrible at sports, to the point that I’d catch every single ball that came in my direction with my face, so I realized I had to do something about that. I started jogging around the perimeter of a park nearby to build up some stamina, but I couldn’t even complete a single lap at the start because my feet would start hurting almost immediately. I was worried whether I could really perform as a cast member because of that, but nowadays I can get through a rather long dance lesson without feeling exhausted, so I suppose I did manage to build up some stamina along the way. At my peak, I also went to the gym about four times per week. My enunciation was also rather poor, so I practiced every day in the bath. I prepared a lot while watching the activities of the first-generation members, so it didn’t really feel like I was just waiting for the second season to happen. But I’m definitely a long way off from the first-generation members, especially in aspects like my stamina, so I’ll continue doing my best.
Could you let us know how you felt when the “Love Live! Superstar!!” project began in earnest? How did you feel when the cast members for the first-generation members were announced?
When the cast for the first-generation members was announced, I remember thinking about how I’d one day perform on the same stage as them. When I saw Date-san, I thought “Oh, so that girl did end up making it!”. But I was also shocked to hear that two people were accepted through the public auditions. Everyone was already really good at talking, not to mention they looked perfect for the part, so I knew I had to improve various aspects of myself to fit into the group, and that really motivated me. I wanted to do my best to prepare for the second season, so I didn’t have many negative thoughts. I watched Liella!’s first live stream in real-time as well! When I saw Date-san crying on stream, I knew she must have worked really hard under the immense pressure she had to have been facing precisely because, like her, I too was accepted through the public auditions. What really impressed me was that she managed to make it all the way to the end, as if nothing out of the ordinary had just happened. Every time I saw her, it made me feel that I had to work harder, that there must be something more than I could do.
I heard that you watched Liella!’s debut single release event, “Hajimari wa Minna no Sora” at the venue itself.
Yup, and I was floored. Even though there were only five of them, their presence was no less felt than any of the other groups. The fact that I’d become a part of the group in the future was already weighing on my mind back then, and watching that performance made me wonder what I needed to do to eventually be able to proclaim that I’m part of Liella! with my head held high. Seeing Date-san nail the difficult entrance to Watashi no Symphony made me wonder whether I’d be able to do that if I were in her position. We were going to join the group after the first-generation members, so I wondered whether that meant we could never catch up to them. That gave me the motivation to work even harder, and I started practicing the moment I got home. A while after that, I was sent the illustrations and background information of the second-generation members. Kinako-chan was the first character who caught my eye, and I thought she was just like me… Out of the four members, I liked her appearance the most, and I knew I had to become her voice. The second-generation members had a final audition round to decide who’d get to play which character. So strong was my desire that I prayed every single day that I’d get to voice Kinako-chan…
You prayed for it every single day?
I even started trying to do at least one good deed per day to become a better person. Now that I think about it, I was totally panicking back then. Oh, I also felt like my personality was too gloomy to become Kinako-chan, so I decided to become a more cheerful person and smile more. I’ve been told by the other second-generation members that I’ve become more cheerful compared to the final audition, and I do hope they’re right… The first season of the anime aired during that period as well, and I’d watch every single episode while on call with my family. But with every episode I watched, I would get more worried. I’d usually just bury myself in the story of the “Love Live!” series that I love so much, but because everyone was just so good, I sometimes even ended up crying wondering whether I’d be able to be like them.
How did the final audition for the second-generation members go?
Even now I’m still hearing about how gloomy I was during that audition, so I think I might have gone overboard and started treating everyone else as an enemy… (laughs) That was also my first time at an official recording, so I had no idea what to do. I think that made me give off a negative aura. After a while, I got the news that I was chosen to play Kinako-chan, and I’ve been happy ever since (laughs).
In November 2021, you and the other second-generation members met the first-generation members for the first time, am I right?
We didn’t talk much the first time the second-generation members met, but I managed to talk to everyone during the dance lessons that happened afterward, and I slowly got to know everyone better. One day, Aya said something like “Let’s drop the honorifics!”. I’m terrible at referring to people directly by their name, so that really was a tall order for me. But she was so insistent that I decided to try my hardest to do it. Looking back on it, doing that really did bring us closer together. We had the chance to meet the first-generation members a while later. All the second-generation members were waiting outside a room where the first-generation members were, and even from the corridor, we could hear something like “I can’t wait to meet them!” coming from inside the room. That calmed me down a lot, and the atmosphere there was really welcoming and pleasant. That was also the first time I talked about being accepted through the public auditions, and because I didn’t even tell the other second-generation members, they turned out to be even more surprised than the first-generation members were. That made the mood pretty weird… Though Aya jumping up in surprise right beside me was pretty funny (laughs).
Apparently, you watched the First Live Tour together with the second-generation members?
I had watched every single live stream that had happened before, but that was my first time being on-site with fans in the audience as well. Being able to see the first-generation members perform with my very own eyes made me realize just how big their movements were and how loud their voices were, which is something that the live streams definitely couldn’t get across. That was when I knew that all the practice I had been doing up till then was far from enough. I was never really good at singing or dancing, and I was wondering just what I had to do to become part of the group. It really made me feel the gap between me and them. When the four of us are together, the atmosphere is usually rather cheerful, but the mood after that live performance was rather gloomy. For us second-generation members, the first-generation members really do seem like a wall that we have to surmount. But being too fixated on that didn’t seem right to me either. Of course we respect them, but now that we’re members of the same group, I wanted to be treated as an equal, which made me want to do my best to catch up to them, or even surpass them.
How did you feel about the recordings when they started?
Kinako-chan actually has pretty exaggerated reactions to things! She’s really expressive and frequently screams, and I struggled a lot with letting my voice out like that… I’ve spent a lot of time discussing with the members of the staff, but I still feel like I’ve yet to catch up to Kinako-chan. Although we’re really similar, our energy levels are actually complete opposites, so I think that’s something I’ll have to face head-on in the future.
The second-generation members were announced as the recordings were taking place. How did you feel upon seeing how the fans reacted?
All of us second-generation members came together to see how the fans reacted, both when the new characters and new cast members were announced. I forgot to turn off my Twitter notifications when the cast members were announced, and I panicked after receiving a ton of notifications all at once. I was terrified at the beginning and couldn’t bring myself to read any of the comments, but when I mustered the courage to look at the comments section about three days later, it was filled with comments like “You’re already part of Liella! from this moment onwards!” and “I’m sure it won’t be easy, but we’ll be supporting you. We’ve got your back,” which really surprised me. I was expecting to see some negative comments, so I was surprised that we were accepted so readily. I remember being really relieved that the fans had such kind words for us.
The first time I managed to say “Liella!” properly was the first step I took to becoming one of the group
You’ve been through the character and cast announcements, and now you’ve even stood in front of the fans at the Live & Fan Meeting events.
Honestly, it hasn’t really hit me that I’m one of Liella!’s members. But, the other day at the Tokyo Leg of our Live & Fan Meeting, I felt like that was the first time I said the “And that was Liella!” line properly. It’s as if I finally got accustomed to saying that, or that seeing everyone waving their lights finally clicked with the fact that I was standing on stage. It felt like I’d finally become part of the group. I hope I’ll be able to gain more experience and perform on stage with my head held high, as a member of Liella!.
I’m sure your life has changed a lot in the past two years. If you could say something to yourself back when you were just signing up for the auditions, what would you say?
Err… I’d say “You did great!”. You definitely did great. I’d compliment myself for being able to muster up the courage to do something that I’d have just given up on in the past. I’m sure to a lot of people, I still have a long way to go. But to me, the small things I did have accumulated, leading to even bigger changes. I believe that I’ve grown quite a bit, so I’d like to compliment myself on accomplishing that. I’ll try my best to move from 100 points to somewhere around 180 points. Even though I’m standing in front of an audience during our Live & Fan Meeting events, when I get back home, I become myself again. Even now, I sometimes wonder whether this is all a dream. But, the people who make me realize that I’m now a part of the “Love Live!” series that I love so much are none other than all the fans supporting me. I’ll do my best to make everyone happy and to eventually reach a point where even I myself am satisfied with my work.
Last but not least, let us know what we should look out for in the second season of the anime!
I hope you get to know the charms of the freshmen, who all have really interesting personalities! Now that the first-generation members are upperclassmen, I believe seeing them interact with their underclassmen will be quite fresh too. I personally love the rowdiness that happens when everyone in the group gets together, which is unique to the “Love Live!” series, so I hope you look out for that as well! Do look forward to it!
[1] Love Live! Series 9th Anniversary Love Live! Fest, which happened at Saitama Super Arena on January 18th and 19th, 2020. The announcement for a new project by the “Love Live!” series happened at the event on the second day.

Suzuhara Nozomi was born in Miyazaki Prefecture and read every single book in the library when she was a student. She loves girls in twintails and thought it was fate when she first saw Kinako’s visuals. She enjoys analog games like board and card games. The fact that Liella!’s bungee jump location shoot has yet to happen is something that constantly weighs on her mind.

Hi! I saw your tag on your informal buddie lap makeout poll (Which, exceptional scientific inquiry. Cannot wait to see the results. Especially if it leads you to write something...)
Anyway, what is your thinking on lonestar and a potential buck +e ddie sex scene? (FWIW, I don't watch LS. I tried, but just could not. Not yucking anyone's yum, just didn't work for me.)
Curious what you think?
Thank you! The study is going well, I look forward to analyzing the results in depth!
(Please note: after three hours of writing out this response, I realize I may have misunderstood your question 😂 If you meant "what do you think a buddie sex scene would look like given tarlos", please let me know and it would be my genuine pleasure to describe that in great detail. What follows is not that.....)
I have been thinking about the potential of a buddie sex scene more than I ought to, I'm sure. You could say I've been a smidge preoccupied since realizing all the legit sex scenes in the show happened in season 1/early season 2. In seasons 3/4, the closest I think we've gotten to textual sex is Madney having sex to induce labour and that consisted of Maddie throwing her shirt at Chimney from off-screen.
Someone on that post (can't find it now of course) said that 911 Lone Star took over the original 911 later time slot and thus took over the ability to have sexier content.
As someone who hasn't watched a television show live in like 5 years, your ask has prompted me to do actual research to confirm this 🤓 According to pogdesign, 911 currently plays Mondays at 8pm and 911LS plays at 9pm which supports the theory.
That said, it kind of strikes me as weird that 8pm is considered too early for sexy content? But maybe I'm just out of touch with cable television??
So I did more research! So much research omfg this took 3 hours of my life. 😅
First we define the issue at hand
I'm defining a "sex scene" as a scene that involves two or more people mackin' on each other with any of the following:
the beginning of clothing removal onscreen
the movement towards a bedroom or bed
getting into someone's lap as a sign of escalation
post-coital pillow talk or cuddling
actual shots of naked skin and writhing (softcore porn essentially)
So 911 got moved to 8pm. Do any other 8pm shows have sex scenes?
CW - The 100 🔥 (I know there was a minimum of 2 wlw sex scenes, though they may have been post-coital)
CW - Riverdale 🔥🔥 is another teen show that I don't watch so I youtubed "Riverdale sex scenes" and I'm led to believe at least one couple is banging semi-onscreen well into season 4 (it has 4 seasons???)
NBC - Chicago Med 🔥, a procedural show not about teenagers and seems to have a least 1 couple with sexy scenes (the other Chicagos air at 9pm and 10pm) and I saw lap sitting for a hardcore makeout for the other couple!!!!! TIM TAKE NOTES!
NBC - Superstore 🔥, a half-hour comedy that played at 8pm on NBC, did have at least this one cut-away sex scene
So 2 teen shows, 1 procedural and 1 comedy all had something in the way of "sex scenes" while airing at 8pm.
But what if Fox the network is the sex-scene-killers??
Apparently Fox literally has only 5 scripted dramas of which the 911 is one and the others are:
The Resident 🔥🔥, a medical drama that plays at 8pm as of season 2 (9pm for season 1) and the main couple seem to have several sex scenes, but interestingly from what I can glean from YT, they may have stopped after s2 (though the couple stays together until at least s4 from what I can tell)
LA's Finest 🚫, a rebroadcast through Fox, it airs at 9pm and YT didn't show me any sexy scenes
Fantasy Island 🔥🔥 which plays at 9pm and looks to have sexier content based on the trailer
911: Lone Star 🔥🔥🔥 which plays at 9pm. Tarlos have had like 2 heavy makeouts/implied sex scenes plus a pretty hardcore-for-tv sex scene in the s2 finale
So it seems like even for Fox, the 8pm timeslot isn't necessarily what's vetoing the sex scenes in 911. But just to hammer that home, I did even more researching into the watershed hours, which is apparently the designated time broadcasters can show sexiness, but in the US that's 10pm to 6am so if the restrictions were such that they couldn't show any sex scenes before 10pm, Tarlos wouldn't have gotten that finale action (thank you, IRL bff who watched 911LS so I didn't have to!)
TL;DR - a summation of our findings
The 8pm timeslot is not the sex-scene-killer I once thought it was (see: all them filthy shows)
911 being a cop show is not a sex-scene-killer (see: dramas, procedurals and comedies all had sex scenes)
Fox is not anti-sex in their 8pm scripted dramas in general (see: The Resident)
Fox is not anti-sex homophobically (see: Tarlos, Hen/Eva)
However!! There seems to be a somewhat weird, somewhat isolated trend of Fox shows either cutting off or tapering off sex scenes (see: 911, The Resident) after 2 seasons or specifically after 2019.
So what are the theories (from least to most favourite)?
Theory #1 (Buddie loses 🚫): "Something" happened at Fox in 2019. The Resident is the only true analogue to 911 as it's also on Fox, also premiered in January 2018, also started at 9pm but was moved to 8pm (in season 2, not season 3 like 911). If my very brief googling can be trusted, The Resident saw a lot of sex scenes in season 2 (at 8pm) but after 2019 there isn't much to write home about. That lines up with what we've seen in 911. If something happened internally at Fox that changed broadcasting guidelines for 8pm, then canon Buddie will not get sex scenes unless the timeslot changes back.
Pros: It would be a hell of a coincidence wouldn't it?? Both shows airing around the same time, both stop showing sex scenes around the same time???
Cons: It's pretty weak, I can't find anything that supports "something" happening in 2019 that would affect an 8pm timeslot but not the 9pm one.
Theory #2 (Buddie loses 🚫): Sex as a short-term sales tactic. Fox uses sex in the first two seasons of shows to boost ratings and get people hooked because sex sells. But then, for whatever reason, they taper it off. If so, Buddie being canonized would not produce any sex scenes as we're far removed from season 2.
Pros: The Resident and 911 both stopped showing sex scenes after season 2 from what I can gather
Cons: If sex sells, why wouldn't it keep selling all the way to the bank?? There's no reason to stop something that's working.
Theory #3 (Buddie wins 🔥): Actors are the roadblock. Fox is fine with sex scenes at 8pm but the actors aren't comfortable! If so, Buddie sex scenes could be in the cards as both actors have had on-screen sex scenes previously.
Pros: Angela Bassett, Peter Krause and JLH are bigger names and they presumably get to not get naked on screen or simulate sex scenes if they don't want to. Aisha Hinds as a (criminally) smaller name wouldn't have had that kind of leverage in season 1, nor would Ryan Guzman in season 2? And Oliver Stark knew what he was signing up to to play a self-diagnosed "sex addict" so.
Cons: This is absolute, complete conjecture. I have zero idea what each of their comfort levels with sex scenes are or how that might relate to the writing/direction of their characters.
Theory #4 (Buddie wins 🔥): Stable canon relationships kill sex. Fox dramas use sex only pre-maritally to build relationships and the network or the showrunners/writers decide it's not as important once characters are in stable relationships/married. If so, we will get Buddie sex scenes as their canon relationship develops.
Pros: The Resident couple did get married post-season 2 I think? Athena stopped having onscreen sex after she married Bobby. Hen had sex but out of her marriage.
Cons: That's dumb, let married people bone. And we technically do have a Madney sex scene, tame as it was (but maybe they straddle of the line of stable but pre-marital???). Also if sex = building relationship, EddieAna have been excluded from that formula oops 😌
Theory #5 (Buddie wins 🔥): We're overthinking all of this. There hasn't been sex scenes past season 2 because the stories haven't called for it but when it does, such as the start of a new relationship, then we'll get some!
Pros: We haven't had any "new" relationships other than EddieAna since season 2 and their lack of intimacy is a glaring reminder they aren't well suited - they're not boning for plot reasons. While not strictly meeting the aforementioned definition of a "sex scene", we could use Albert coming out of Veronica's shower as a use of sex-as-relationship-building.
Cons: That's dumb, let married people bone, the sequel. Especially since HenRen is criminally neglected in terms of development and could use a fun playful sex scene.
So what have we learned?
Should Buddie go canon, 3 theories indicate we'd get some sex scenes for them, and only 2 say we wouldn't. The odds are in our favour. 🤡
I will do literally anything to procrastinate writing this damn fic that's been tormenting me for weeks. Please someone, anybody...send help...

Queen live at Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo in São Paulo, Brazil - March 20, 1981

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Morumbi Stadium" is a nickname for the venue, as Morumbi is a small district of São Paulo. The shows in São Paulo are among the most important of Queen's career. They play to 131,000 people tonight and another 120,000 tomorrow night, the largest paying audiences ever to see Queen, and the largest paying audiences for a single band at the time. When the Rio show was cancelled, this extra night in São Paulo was booked, and it sold out very quickly. The band are interviewed on TV before the show. Just as the host, Eron Domingues, sits down beside Freddie, Mr. Mercury quips, "Sit on my lap." After being asked how he feels about playing for this many people, Freddie, with his usual quick wit, replies, "I haven't done it yet!" He then says the band are looking forward to it, and hopes everyone has a good time. The concert was then broadcast live on TV. Regrettably, even the best copies of the video aren't anything to write home about, because the quality of Brazilian TV wasn't great in the early 80s. The show was broadcast at least a couple more times later in the year. The first rebroadcast was a week after the show at the same time, and it is the only known broadcast of the complete show, audio or video, without any of the voice-overs. The next rebroadcast was a few months later, a 45-minute version with a red "Queen Special" shown at the beginning and before commercial breaks - and with many different camera angles. Thanks to Marcos Napier for all the details on the various versions. It is priceless footage, as it shows Freddie Mercury part way through Love Of My Life standing and clapping in sheer amazement, after having witnessed this many people who don't understand English sing his song perfectly without him. Freddie has rested his voice and sounds fantastic overall tonight. The rest the band are in fine shape as well, with the only slight exception of Brian taking a couple bars to settle into the guitar solo in Somebody To Love. But it is a small blemish on an otherwise perfect night of epic proportions. In one of the video rebroadcasts, footage of the audience was copied and pasted around (for lack of a better term), sometimes with humourous results. For example, footage of an audience member playing air guitar during the fast We Will Rock You is shown again during the ballad of the evening, Love Of My Life. Most of the pictures were submitted by Alessio Rizzitelli and Fabio Minero. Seven minutes of footage from soundcheck were broadcast on Argentinan TV. Part of this concert was officially released as part of the "On Air" box set in 2016, containing Queen's complete BBC sessions for the first time, as well as live material and interviews. The sound quality of the São Paulo material is better than any of the circulating bootleg and radio recordings. The tracks included are: We Will Rock You (fast), Let Me Entertain You, I'm In Love With My Car, part of Now I'm Here, Dragon Attack, Now I'm Here (reprise), Love Of My Life.

Brief Review of Every Dinosaur/Prehistoric Documentary/Educational Short I’ve ever seen (1923-1996).
And thanks to a certain project, I’ve seen a LOT!
Evolution (1923) - This is the oldest of the bunch, a silent film.  Mostly it uses modern animals to represent ancient forms, with a few statues and brief animated bits to fill things out. The only real highlight?  Seeing where some of the “film real” segment from Gigantis the Fire Monster comes from!
Monsters from the Past (1923) - A short documentary with original stop motion (this was pre-The Lost World, so that’s to be expected).  Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus, and Brontosaurus are the key creatures. Included as an extra on the second DVD release of The Lost World.
Prehistoric Animals (1938) - Reuses footage from The Lost World (1925) for its prehistoric segments. This will not be the last time it happens.
Prehistoric Times: The World Before Man (1952) - This thing is so quintessentially 1950s, it’s highly riff-able.  It uses a mix of paintings, sculptures and some live animals to represent prehistoric life.
A World Is Born (1955) - Ya know what Fantasia needed?  Overbearing Narration! That’s it.  That’s what this documentary is.  I saw this thing rebroadcast in the 90s on the Disney Channel, believe it or not.
The Animal World (1956) - Ray Harryhausen.  Willis O’Brian. Their stop motion segment is the ONLY notable part of this documentary.  This is also the only part that has seen some release in modern times, as a bonus feature on the DVD of The Black Scorpion.
Prehistoric Animals of the Tar Pits (1956) - Black and white, but also quintessentially 50s and riff-able.  Aside from the bones, it shows some wooden models to represent the animals.
Journey into Time (1960) - Fantasia this is not, but it TRIES to be.  Lord it tries.  Or, rather, there’s a Fantasia-adjacent thing elsewhere which does the same thing.  Has some unique choices for animals to represent, including showing Permian forms like Scutusaurus and Inostrancevia.
Dem Dry Bones: Archaeology, Paleontology, Identification, and Preservation (1966) - This was a lucky find, it was on Youtube for half a second.  And not worth digging out, really.  Stuffy, dry, and mildly condescending.  It was still interesting looking at the dinosaur hall of the Smithsonian back in the 1950s.
Dinosaurs - The Terrible Lizard (1970) - The stop motion here is pretty neat, if slow and plodding, it’s refreshing after all this crap. The puppets for many of these would later be re-used for The Land of the Lost.  Including Grumpy, Alice, and Spot.
NOVA: The Hot-Blooded Dinosaurs (1977) - Robert Bakker’s first appearance in a documentary.  HE HAS SUCH LONG HAIR!  Not bad, a little dry, with National Geographic titles.  It reminds me of 1990s documentaries, just so show how long it’s taken for various ideas to filter down.  Currently, it’s available on Archive.org.
Dinosaurs: A First Film (1978) - The art style for this half-animated 70s abomination makes identifying various prehistoric animals almost impossible.  Almost painful to sit through. Stops with the Dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs: The Age of the Terrible Lizards (1978) - Similar to the above, but available from Rifftrax, so much more watchable.  Also, it’s actually animated!
Dinosaur (1980) - Wil Vinton Claymation with Dinosaurs.  A few edits of this exist, the latter works a bit better, but the original is interesting to track down. Most of the edits are audio only, so you aren’t missing anything.  The dinosaur sin this are top notch for color and design.  They even have Corythosaurus and Tyrannosaurus not dragging their tails!
Cosmos (1980) - the animated segment covering Evolution is still wonderful if only for the narration from Carl Sagan.
The Age of Mammals (1981) - A follow up of sorts to Dinosaurs: The Age of Reptiles.  Decent stop motion if a little slow.  Decent variety for the time.
64,000,000 Years Ago (1981) - A solid stop motion short film.  Still worth checking out for stop motion fans.  Available on Youtube legally!
Dinosaurs: Fun, Facts, and Fantasy (1981) - Nostalgic for some, but aimed at a rather young audience.  Some interesting stop motion bits in here too... if awkward in that way British stop motion can be outside Aardman Studios.
Reading Rainbow “Digging up Dinosaurs” (1983) - Definitely nostalgic for me.  Besides, it’s Reading Rainbow!  And opens with a clip from One Million Years B.C.!  What’s not to love?
Prehistoric Beast (1984) - One of the best stop motion shorts on this list.  Included because it INSPIRED a documentary from it.  Phil Tippett firing on all cylinders.  Well worth watching.  And he uploaded it on Youtube himself!
Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs (1985), More Dinosaurs (1985), Son of Dinosaur (1988),  Prehistoric World (1993) - Gary Owens and Eric Boardman have a series of documentaries on dinosaurs and prehistoric life.  The presenters are what really make these work. Colorful, fun, and yes, silly, these still hold a nostalgic gleam for people like me.  The last one has Dougal Dixon talk about his After Man speculations.  Fun times.
Dinosaur! (1985) - Hosted by Christopher Reeve, this is one of the best documentaries of its time.  Reeves loved dinosaurs and was happy to work on this project with Phil Tippet behind the animation.  Covers a lot in its hour long format, and well worth watching.  Do you know how good this special was?  When Reeve died in 2004, the Discovery Channel (or similar station) re-aired this thing as a tribute.  It holds up that well!
Tell Me Why: Pre-Historic Animals, Reptiles and Amphibians (1986) - This is something I had when I was a little kid.  Dry, straight forward, a “Video Babysitter” at it’s best. It consists of a narrator while looking at pictures of the Invicta Dinosaur Toys that were also on the poster.
Dinosaurs! A Fun-Filled Trip Back in Time (1987) - Wil Vinton’s Dinosaurs! tied with a short setup/framing device with the kid from the Wonder Years involving a low-animation music video (this was the MTV age) and a guide through art from various dinosaur books from the 1950s through the 1980s.  Rather meh, but Wil Vinton is why we are here.  This was the only way to get Wil Vinton’s short back in the day, and is the version of the short shown in Museums like The Academy of Natural Sciences.
Digging Dinosaurs (PBS-WHYY) (1988) - Something I managed to record of TV back in the day, though not much of it, about the uncovering and preparation of Avaceratops. Bone Dry.
Maia: A Dinosaur Grows Up (1988) - A VHS version of the picture book, with narration and the whole spiel.  Actually not to bad for what it is, but it is what it is.  The art for that book is rather wonderful.
Lost Worlds, Vanished Lives (1988) - David.  Attenburrough. Need I say more?  Not one of his best, but still wonderful. Hard to track down.
Dinosaurs (1989) - From the Smithsonian Institute, one of the video followups sold in various museums (I have one from the Royal Tyrell, but haven’t been able to track it down).  Not great, but I’ve seen worse.
Infinite Voyage: The Great Dinosaur Hunt (1989) - A rather dry documentary, but one I find extremely relaxing and calming.  Very nostalgic for me.  But still dry.
Vestie Video Sitter: Dinosaurs (1989) - This is for babies. It hurt to watch.
In November, 1990, Jurassic Park (novel) was released, and thus began the great shift.
In Search of the Dragon: The Great Dinosaur Hunt of the Century (1991) - a.k.a. The Dinosaur Project, The Great Dinosaur Hunt, The Hunt for China’s Dinosaurs.  Edited into a 1 hour NOVA special from a nearly two hour documentary, all about the joint Canadian/Chinese Gobi Desert Expedition in the 1980s that gave us Mamenchisaurus among many other species.  With another stop in the Arctic for good measure.  Some good stop motion and pencil animation for Troodon round this one out.
A&E’s Dinosuar! (1991) - There’s so many things named “Dinosaur” that I have to specify.  Hosted by Walter Cronkite, this is rather dry, but still entertaining documentary series has some nightmare-fuel puppet-work.  The ‘sad’ music gets caught in my head sometimes when I think about it.  It is 4 episodes long.  “The Tale of a Tooth”, “The Tale of a Bone”, “The Tale of an Egg”, and “The Tale of a Feather”
T. Rex: Exposed (1991) - a Nova Documentary on T. Rex.  Not too bad overall, focusing on the Wrankle Rex unearthing. Parts of it are available on Youtube, but not all of it.
The Case of the Flying Dinosaur (1991) - the third in the “NOVA” 91 trilogy, this covers the bird-dinosaur connection as it was still contentious at the time.
PBS’ The Dinosaurs! (1992) - A gold standard for documentaries on dinosaurs. The hand drawn animation with colored pencil style still hold up today. The narrator has a bit of an accent and pronounces “Dinosaur” oddly, but that is the only complaint I can really give. It has 4 episodes: “The Monsters Emerge”, “Flesh on the Bones”, “The Nature of the Beast”, “Death of the Dinosaurs.”
Muttaburrasaurus: Life in Gondwana (1993) - A half-hour short about dinosuars and mesozoic life in Australia. Solid stop motion animation. Australian Accents makes it fun to listen too.
NOVA: The Real Jurassic Park (1993) - Jeff Goldblum narrates this bit of scientists going on about “But what if we really did it?” Quite fun, lotta fun details the movies and even the books didn’t get into. My favorite bit had Robert Bakker talking to a game keeper at the Rockefeller Refuge in a Louisiana Cypress Swamp about what could happen if they kept a few dinosaur there (Edmontosaurus, Triceratops, and T. Rex).  Namely, he talks about housing ‘about a thousand” Edmontosaurs on the 86K acre facility, with 2 or 3 mated pairs of Rexes.  It’s fun getting numbers like that.
Bill Nye the Science Guy “Dinosaurs” (1993) - BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL!  Not a bad kids entry for documentaries. Available from Netflix.
Paleoworld (1994-1997) - Running originally for 4 years, and being revamps once along the way, this rather dry, “Zoom in on paleoart” style of documentary was a good holdover for bigger things, and covered some pretty niche topics.  Much of the later version has been uploaded to youtube.
Dinosaur Digs: A Fossil Finders Tour (1994), Dinosaurs: Next Exit (1994) - These films hurt me.  They hurt me so much.  I’ve seen some painful things, but these are hour long tour advertisements for road trips with annoyingly earworms.  Available on youtube, but I ain’t linking anything!
Eyewitness: Dinosaur (1994) - Not a bad documentary, but I still hold a grudge on it for replacing Wil Vinton’s work at my local museum! Still, it is narrated by Martin Sheen. The clip selection is wide and varied, but we’re still getting The Lost World (1925) footage.
Planet of Life (1995) - This documentary series is rather dry, but boasts some interesting coverage of topics.  Though some of it’s conclusions regarding dinosaurs are... not great.  Still, the episode “Ancient Oceans” is a favorite of mine.
Once Upon Australia (1995) - The bests stop motion documentary on Australia’s prehistory. Has some humor to is, and Australian fauna that it does cover is solid.  Though finding out how one of the animals is spelled, ( Ngapakaldia) drove me nuts for literally decades.
Dinosaurs: Myths and Reality (1995) - Like a little more polished episode of Paleoworld, with a lighter-voiced narration, this covers common myths about dinosaurs. Overall, a Meh.  But it has a LOT of movie clips. Which makes sense given it was funded by the Disney Channel!
The Ultimate Guide: T. Rex (1995) - The Ultimate Guide series of docs were overall rather solid, as was the Tyrannosaurus one.  Stop Motion animation along with puppets and some minor CG help round out the normal talking heads and skeleton mounts.  Along with a solid narrator, it has a real mood to it.
The Magic School Bus “The Busasaurus” (1995) - The original Magic School Bus was a solid series, and their episode on Dinosaurs bucks trends even the reboot didn’t cover.  The core thrust here wasn’t just dinosaur information, but the idea that Dinosaurs were not Monsters, but animals.  And they conveyed it in a unique way.
I may do more of these mini-reviews, but there are a LOT of documentaries post The Lost World: Jurassic Park that don’t have as much easy access.  Like, I’ve seen them, but digging out links/citing places to watch them is a lot harder.
