Inumaru Touma: Good morning! Izumi!

Yuki: Good morning, Iori-kun. Touma-kun said he’s been really into muscle training lately, so I was just checking him.

Izumi Iori: C-Checking him...?

Yuki: If you're aiming to be like Ryuunosuke-kun, maybe you still have ways to go.

Inumaru Touma: That’s right...! I'll work even harder!

Yuki: Yeah, keep it up.

Izumi Iori: What kind of conversation is this... I thought I walked into the wrong room for a second…

Yuki: This is the planning room for the "Monthly World Travel".

Izumi Iori: I am aware.

Inumaru Touma: Oh man, I'm looking forward to Taipei! It’s interesting that we’re going sightseeing and challenging ourselves on a mission at the same time.

Inumaru Touma: We decided the members for this project by drawing lots, but the combination of the three of us seems a bit unusual, doesn't it?

Izumi Iori: Yes, it does. We’re different types of people...

Izumi Iori: ...I'm starting to feel anxious.

Yuki: What's making you anxious?

Izumi Iori: Just, overall.

Inumaru Touma: Huh? And here I thought that a trip with the dependable Izumi and Yuki-san would be good…!

Yuki: I’m dependable?

Izumi Iori: Please don't ask me that question.

Inumaru Touma: You really are dependable! I’ve been recording and watching "NEXT Re:vale" a whole lot!

Inumaru Touma: Also, I saw the way you looked at us when we were on the show together. You were looking as if you were watching over us, and it made me straighten my back!

Yuki: Is that so. Thank you.

Yuki: Maybe because Momo was there.

Inumaru Touma: Momo-san?

Yuki: Yeah. Momo isn't with us this time so I'll have to make sure I don't space out.

Izumi Iori: ...Inumaru-san.

Inumaru Touma: Huh?

Izumi Iori: Let's do our best. We should cooperate.

Inumaru Touma: Y-Yeah...?

Yuki: We’ll have the power of a hundred people with IDOLiSH7’s brainiac Iori-kun and ŹOOĻ’s leader Touma-kun in here. (1)

Inumaru Touma: Hehe, thank you very much...! I hope I’ll be able to communicate with the locals in English at least? That's the only thing I'm a bit worried about.

Izumi Iori: I think you'll be fine. Do you have confidence in English, Inumaru-san?

Yuki: Your rap is usually so cool after all.

Izumi Iori: We have members who are fluent when they sing but completely terrible at speaking, though...

Inumaru Touma: Well, my English is just about average, but I can manage somehow! It's all about the flow and momentum!

Izumi Iori: It's really strange, but it seems like it...

Yuki: That's hilarious. Our group shouldn’t have trouble communicating with the locals then.

Inumaru Touma: Yeah! Since everyone here can speak English, I'll learn a lot of things!

Izumi Iori: ...Looking at Inumaru-san’s positive attitude is making me believe everything will work out fine.

Yuki: I'm counting on you, children. (2)

Izumi Iori: As expected… Taipei is bustling with tourists.

Yuki: That's right. 

Inumaru Touma: I was a little worried about the weather since the rainy season is right around the corner, but I’m glad it’s sunny!

Yuki: That’s right.

Izumi Iori: ...Are you okay, Yuki-san?

Yuki: I might not be right…

Inumaru Touma: Are you tired, Yuki-san? Want me to give you a piggyback ride?

Yuki: ...ŹOOĻ’s Inumaru Touma giving me a piggyback ride doesn’t sound too bad.

Izumi Iori: You don’t have to do that. This isn't "NEXT Re:vale" after all...

Yuki: You're right. But I'll suggest a segment where we carry someone and run to the finish line next time.

Inumaru Touma: Sounds fun! I think Tora would be the only one in ŹOOĻ who could carry me…!

Accompanying staff: Once again, thank you for joining us today! Here is the card containing the missions with hints written on it. We'll also give you a map of Taipei to explore around!

Inumaru Touma: Thank you very much! ...Uhh, the mission is... 

Inumaru Touma: "Make your way to the flower carpet!", or so the card says!

Izumi Iori: A carpet... in a flower field, perhaps. We should be able to narrow it down quite a bit this time of the year...

Yuki: The hint says "popular tourist spot," but the map we got doesn't seem to have anything that hints at it.

Inumaru Touma: Yeah... Then how about we go somewhere we can ask the locals?

Yuki: Good idea. Sounds like a task that fits Touma-kun's high communication skills.

Inumaru Touma: Thanks! How about Yongkang…jie? It says there are many restaurants to enjoy and walk around, there might even be some shopkeepers who know something!

Izumi Iori: ...I see, it’s Yǒngkāng jiē (Yongkang Street). I've heard that there are many stores here where Japanese is spoken because of the amount of Japanese tourists who visit, so we might be on the right track.

Yuki: Amazing, Iori-kun's extensive knowledge is coming into play now.

Yuki: Momo, our children are growing up splendidly.

Izumi Iori: What are you mumbling to the camera?

Inumaru Touma: Well then, let's go there for now! Yuki-san, you feeling better now?

Yuki: I'm fine. Let's just take it slow. It's hot.

Inumaru Touma: Yeah! Slow but steady wins the race or something. Izumi, if you’re in trouble, let me know right away! You look like the type who doesn't show that kinda thing on your face.

Izumi Iori: Oh, thank you...You truly are the one who keeps ŹOOĻ together, aren't you...

Yuki: Fufu. I'm glad we have this group after all.

This is a pun on Momo’s name (Hundred), as he has a combination of Iori’s wits and Touma’s communication skills and leader status. 

Yuki says “kouhai-kun-tachi”, which sounds like a more endearing way to refer to his juniors with the addition of the “kun” honorifics commonly used for younger people, so I chose to translate it as children. You can still interpret it as “little juniors” if you wish!

Torao Mido: I thought so during the shoot too, but you're quite level-headed for a high schooler.

Iori Izumi: Who are you calling your cute younger brother?

Iori Izumi: There is another level-headed high schooler in ŹOOĻ as well, isn't there?

Torao Mido: Yeah, Haruka is also ŹOOĻ's pride.

Nagi Rokuya: Mido-shi has the physical strength to lead the charge and clear the way for his allies. The way he fearlessly challenged himself when using stickers shows he's perfect for the front lines.

Torao Mido: Were you analyzing us all along? No way... could it be that all our previous messages were setting the stage for this?

Iori Izumi: That's… wait, but knowing Rokuya-san, he actually might have been…

Nagi Rokuya: OH, it's "darkness smiling." 😏

Nagi Rokuya: It's a slang term said to be reserved for use only by the chosen ones. But since you have the potential, Mido-shi, I shall impart it to you specially.

Torao Mido: Does that mean I'm one of the chosen ones? (dark smile)

Character/Headcanon analysis: Koushirou Izumi and his parental tendencies

I like to call Koushirou "parental" when it comes to his 02 self - and I'm aware that may also be a very self-indulgent headcanon of him taking after Kae, even though she is more into soft parenting, whereas he himself is pretty occupied to make sure that his children are not blowing themselves up...

But of course you can also just call that him being a naturally supportive and caring person - always has been, ever since Adventure, even if certain events had to trigger him to not only be theoretically but physically helpful (such as whenever it comes to saving Mimi, Sora and Hikari - or telling Taichi to take it easy for once). The same attitude can also be found in Tentomon - though in his case, it's being protective on one hand and quite literally parental on the other (particularly in Tri).

Koushirou being thoroughly protective is the reason why I like to parallel him to Sora (and Hikari and basically Taichi too and thus Team Light validates me again), because them having self-sacrificial tendencies towards the others has ALWAYS been a thing - to various degrees. Again, Koushirou was ALWAYS taking on responsibility to make sure that others are safe (which is literally 90% of how his interactions with Hikari go, heck, Atlurkabuterimon trying to protect Angewomon is the biggest metaphor for that!). Unfortunately, my art did not become canon, but yes, I still maintain he was cut out of The Beginning (even as support) to give the spotlight to others for once. They still couldn't fully ignore him, hence why the "If Koushirou-san can't figure this out, how are we supposed to?" quote exists - the 02 kids have always relied on him and looked up to him, so it makes perfect sense. And Takeru acknowledged his support in his fanfiction as well! But they naturally didn't want him to get the spotlight, because it was about the 02 kids. 100% valid.

But then you also have the show vs. tell problem. Mimi says Koushirou is ignorant - and a lot of people take that at 100% face value. Taichi even defends him since he is pretty much aware of his quirks - and the scene above pretty much implies that Mimi herself knows how Koushirou is (= getting into hyperfocus mode and becoming ignorant towards everything he doesn't deem important in the process, hence being ignorant in urgent situations, but NOT in general). Stageplay!Kou is in a league of his own anyway, because he was allowed to voice his frustrations with "not being allowed to help by Taichi" again - and because he made everyone question how they really felt (like a good parent would always encourage their children). There are tons of examples, but to sum it all up: He is a connector, he is basically second in command, he is protective. His way of phrasing that may be awkward and not always understandable by others (hence why Yamato needs to explain it to Kae and Taichi to Meiko, IT'S A PATTERN), but...

Again, I just feel like 02 made him incredibly paternal in how he watches over the 02 kids, every time he talks to Iori, Miyako or Ken, he's kind and reassuring - yes, he does scold them and his potential suitors, ahem for being reckless, but also knows when to give praises.

(It also makes sense that he also mainly gets angry whenever he is being left out of things - especially if he knows he could have done something to support.)

We also all know that he has a very loving mother himself and, as mentioned, even if their parenting style might be rather different, he knows what is important, so... How can I not think it's because their relationship got better and he takes after her? Yes, Tri onwards didn't maintain the mom/dadness in him the same way, but he still feels responsible for everybody's safety, he gives advice and guidance all the time and that doesn't change.

Fic For Odaiba Day 2024: You Need A Promotion, I Want A Shake Up, So Let's Get Married!

Hello everyone! Happy Odaiba Day! 25 years of Digimon! It's incredible to think about! I'm so happy I've gotten back into this show and this fandom because it's been so wonderful!

I know it's not Odaiba Day in America but it IS Odaiba Day in Japan so I'm going to post the FIRST of my two fics I'm osting for Odaiba Day!

Title: You Need A Promotion, I Want A Shake Up, So Let's Get Married! Summary: A newly 30 Mimi Tachikawa has it all: great friends, her dream career, and tons of fans, but she's missing one thing: a relationship she isn't allowed to have because of an overbearing manager.

Jou Kido is living a simple life: he goes to work at his father's hospital, he comes home, he goes to sleep and does it again. However, pressure from his father has him needing to live up to his lofty expectations to one day secure a promotion that will make all of the work he's done in his life worth it.

When the two of them get in touch after so many years and learn of each other's struggles, they decide on the obvious solution: pretend they're married. Bright lights shined in her face, which a make up artist was currently patting foundation on. Mimi Tachikawa sat in a chair, curlers in her hair, phone held gingerly in her nicely manicured hands, and she tapped through it and looked through her contacts..

In three days it would be her thirtieth birthday, and she couldn’t be more excited. She was excited to reach a new milestone in her life— not that turning thirty was a particularly big one, anyways— and more than that, she was getting the finishing touches set up for her big birthday party. She rented out a fancy Italian restaurant at one of the nicest hotels in the area, one that had a beautiful view of the bay, and a bunch of her friends would be there to celebrate with her. Though the invites she sent out already were for fellow models who she worked with and became friends with since her late teens and early twenties, an old photo popping up on her phone reminded her of another group of friends she needed to invite. She tried to keep it small at first, but, well, she was Mimi! How could she keep an event like this small when she had so many friends? Especially friends.

And though she hadn’t had a chance to spend as much time with them as she wanted to for years, they were old friends and classmates who meant the world to her: Yagami Taichi, Ishida Yamato, Takenouchi Sora, Izumi Koushiro, Kido Jou, Takaishi Takeru, Yagami Hikari, Motomiya Daisuke, Inoue Miyako, Hida Iori, and Ichijouji Ken.

Twelve extra people was going to be a big ask considering she already had, what, twenty some other people going? But she couldn’t leave them out. It had been a long time since she sat down with most of them, but they were still all friends to some degree.

“Tachikawa-san? I need to apply your lipstick real quick,” the young woman who was doing her makeup told her. Mimi’s eyes flicked up to her and she smiled.

“Of course! What color?” she asked.

“It’s this,” the girl said, holding up a lipstick tube that was colored a beautiful, deep, rich burgundy.

“Oooh, that looks great! Go ahead!”

Mimi puckered her lips, and as the make-up artist started to apply the first coat, she glanced back down at her phone, adding each of them to a group chat. Once the makeup artist finished the first coat of lipstick, Mimi started rapidly firing off messages.

[Tachikawa Mimi]: Hey everyone! It’s Mimi!

[Tachikawa Mimi]: I’m having my 30th bday in a few days! And you’re all invited!

[Tachikawa Mimi]: Sorry for it being so late notice! I’ll send you all the time and location!

She sent the RSVP from her calendar, unable to stop from feeling giddy, practically bouncing in her seat. Her phone immediately buzzed like wild, and she couldn’t wait to check on it after the shoot.

The girl finished the second coat of lipstick, and Mimi looked at herself in the mirror as she then removed the curlers, letting her hair fall down in loose curls and waves.

“Is hair and makeup done?” a man’s voice called from the other end of the room.

“Yup!” the make up artist chirped back. Mimi popped up from the chair. She gave herself a once over, turning to one side, then the other, to appreciate the midnight blue evening gown she had on. Combined with the lipstick and her honey brown hair, she looked like a real stunner, if she said so herself.

“This looks great! You did an incredible job! Thank you so much,” she beamed, before heading over to the set.

For Better and For Worse

"Nii-san, your hand!"

The words came a second before the pain, searing through Mitsuki's finger where it pressed against the oven-hot pan.

"Oh, damn," he said mildly, careful to manoeuvre the tray with its 180° cookies onto the pot holders before pulling his hand back to with a hiss.

"Stay there. I'll go get the first aid kit."

Mitsuki brushed him off. "It's just a little burn." He ignored Iori's instructions, moving to stand before the sink and flip the tap to cold. The water stung where it hit his skin, but the relief it brought was immediate. It'd hurt again as soon as he shut it off, but it wasn't really that big a deal. He'd had worse before, and he probably would again.

Burns were an inevitability as a baker. His hands were covered in little scars and shiny welts where he'd gotten a little too zealous with an overly hot pan or a not-quite-boiling batch of caramel. Grease splatters dotted his wrists and up his forearms, old and almost unnoticeable unless they caught the light just right, and his left index finger still bore the mark from when he was young and trying to chop peppers for the first time.

They looked like his parents' hands. Meant for hot ovens and hard work, nimble fingers on piping bags and strong arms kneading dough. Clean fingernails and shining scars and no adornment. They were a baker’s hands, not an idol's. Even now, when he only occasionally had the time to go over and help with the shop, he still collected burns like Tamaki collected bread stickers.

But that was alright. It was nice to be able to look down and catch a glimpse of his scarred hands and speckled forearms and remember where he came from. He might be an idol now, but he'd always be a baker, whether that was piping cupcakes at the Fonte de Chocolat or making curry and pudding for dinner at the dorm. He liked having that connection to his roots.

Even if he wasn't super fond of the way his hand was going to throb for the rest of the day.

"Conventionally beautiful or not, I'd still choose you as my significant other. So please, don't worry about your appearance."

Yamato Nikaido

Yamato had just made it home and was heading into your shared room looking for you. His brows knit together with worry when he overhears you muttering to yourself, standing just a few steps away from the bathroom before his presence was made known.

"Hey there beautiful~"

He comes closer and wraps his arms around your waist with a grin, playing it off as if he never heard what you'd said prior.

Mitsuki Izumi

"Yeah, good thing you are, right?"

You could've nearly jumped at how sudden Mitsuki's appearance behind you was. He was wearing a fairly innocent smile, arms folding and chuckling a little.

"Like seriously, I think the other actors and idols I've met would cry if I showed you a picture of you." Mitsuki tries to lighten the situation with humor. He has his own share of insecurities, so he'll do his best to reassure you when you need.

Tamaki Yotsuba

"(N/n) is pretty though. Like, a lot."

Tamaki was sitting on the bed casually playing video games while making the comment. He didn't seem to take what you said too seriously since he thought you were kidding because you obviously are attractive.

He won't take no ifs, ands or buts about it (they might result in an argument anyway)

"...(Y/N)?" Sogo frowns. walking by the bathroom.

Nanase Riku:

I love him and Iori's monster/handler dynamic because it just feels like yet another example of what makes i7 so good, the human intensity of all the characters and their relationships. Plus that they were so spot-on with Riku even in real life, re: the shrimp chips, the tea boxes, etc. He's got the power, and Iori can see the fallout coming even while his star is not yet going supernova.

Kujo Takamasa:

Mostly my headcanons have to do with Zero: the Musical and how that whole process went. Did Zero have these songs written after the fact or during the stages when the songs are sung in his story? Was he planning on having a musical of his life, or was that all Kujo's doing, some unacknowledged attempt to get Zero back and lay his own demons to rest finally? Did Kujo save these songs, gut out Zero's place in his search and hide the songs from Haruki, or did Haruki leave them to him in that will in a gesture of "you're the last of us"?

I should go re-read Part 5 again.

Kujo/Yotsuba Aya:

She's a tragedy, but I do love the scene where Tsumugi almost runs her over as she's trying to get to Tamaki once she hears she's sick. So much happens to her that just breaks your heart.

Rokuya Nagi:

That conversation at the riverside barbecue in First Beat is still something I look forward to in rewatches, because it impressed me so much when I first saw it. Of course, he surprises them over and over again throughout the series but that was the first layer peeled back on the assumptions we all make with characters like him, with an accent and a love for anime, who else could he be but the joke character who's clueless and air-headed?

Izumi Mitsuki:

My boiiiiii!! My i7 favorite from the group, his arc was the one that hit the hardest for me and the characterization of him from others as not being especially talented but he tries really hard being his best quality got me right in the heart. The people who make the party go round, who smooth the rails of conversation so everyone joins in and gets along have an unsung job, until someone doesn't do it and then you notice all the awkwardness and the stilted words. I remember Iori put it well somewhere that Mitsuki makes the show go smoothly from the production side, whereas others make the show feel smooth from the audience side. Or something like that, but it was really insightful.

I didn't manage to nail his exact shade on this bingo sheet, but I also love his peachy color.

Takanashi Tsumugi: Thank you for your hard work, everyone! Sorry for the intrusion…!

Nikaido Yamato: Oh, there you are. Good work, Manager.

Izumi Mitsuki: Thanks for your hard work! Sorry for calling you here out of the blue! We just wanted to discuss something we can’t really talk about at the office.

Takanashi Tsumugi: Don’t worry about it at all…! You’re holding a meeting about Banri-san’s thing, right?

Rokuya Nagi: YES! It’s an important meeting to celebrate Banri’s birthday!

Yotsuba Tamaki: Yaay! Our Ban-chan!

Osaka Sougo: We’re thinking of offering him a one-day tour of Atami this time.

Nanase Riku: We were lucky to work on the "OFF/Travel @ SHIZUOKA" project since it’s such a wonderful city, so we were hoping Banri-san would experience its charm too!

Izumi Iori: It would be difficult to tour all of Shizuoka after all, so we’re planning the tour around the  Atami area since it’s easier to go through. 

Takanashi Tsumugi: So you all came up with an original tour plan! That’s wonderful…!

Rokuya Nagi: King Pudding and Kinako are dressed up in OFF/travel fits on the cover!

Takanashi Tsumugi: Wow! I-I want one…!

Izumi Iori: Everyone contributed to the illustrations of the guide. We plan to make a few copies, so we’ll give one to you as well.

Yotsuba Tamaki: I supervised Sou-chan’s drawings so I don’t think they’ll freak Ban-chan out!

Osaka Sougo: Tamaki-sensei gave me some guidance.

Rokuya Nagi: And the person who drew this Kokona over here, is actually me.

Nikaido Yamato: Yeah, we could tell without asking I think.

Nanase Riku: We also made a schedule together! I thought we could add a few more detours but…

Izumi Iori: Your suggestions were way too inefficient. If we walk for more than 30 minutes between every stop, we won’t have time to do any sightseeing. And Nagi-san keeps suggesting taking taxis for every trip…

Rokuya Nagi: Of course! Japan is still hot even in September.

Osaka Sougo: As you can see, Iori-kun was supervising the schedule.

Izumi Mitsuki: By the way, the gourmet food selection was supervised by Yamato-san! He compiled all the delicious things we ate in Atami.

Nikaido Yamato: Well, Banri-san likes Japanese food so we have similar tastes. Mitsu and Tama were a big help with the sweets stuff.

IDOLiSH7: The Atami Seaside Fireworks Festival!

Takanashi Tsumugi: A fireworks festival…! Isn’t that amazing? They hold it more than ten times a year…!

Nanase Riku: That’s right! And not just during summer! We want Banri-san to finish a day of sightseeing by watching the fireworks!

Izumi Iori: I watched a video about the festival, and the way the fireworks reflected on the sea was beautiful. I think it’ll be even more impressive in person.

Rokuya Nagi: Please take lots of photos. We’re looking forward to hearing all about it.

Takanashi Tsumugi: Right, I’ll ask Banri-san about it!

Nikaido Yamato: No, no. We’re asking you, Manager.

Osaka Sougo: Could you please take a look at the participant list here?

Takanashi Tsumugi: Huh…? 

Takanashi Tsumugi: Banri-san and… me and the other agencies’ managers…!?

Izumi Mitsuki: I’m sure Banri-san would feel too reserved going alone, so the president decided to make this the annual manager’s trip too!

Takanashi Tsumugi: The president…

Yotsuba Tamaki: Yup! Then we asked the other managers via rabbitchat and everyone was on board to help out!

Osaka Sougo: I was in charge of supervising the messages sent to the senior managers just in case.

Rokuya Nagi: There sure are a lot of supervisors!

Anesagi Kaoru: …And that concludes our meeting. Thanks for the tea. I’ll come back and pick you up again tomorrow!

Yaotome Gaku: Wait, Anesagi! We didn’t invite you here just to drink tea!

Kujo Tenn: Actually, we have a request for you, Anesagi-san.

Anesagi Kaoru: A request from you guys…? That’s unusual.

Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Anesagi-san, please go on a trip to Atami during your next day off!

Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: The IDOLiSH7 members are planning a celebration for Banri-san’s birthday, and they suggested turning the relaxing trip into an annual retreat for all the managers!

Kujo Tenn: Yes you did. In fact, you kept saying “Atami” so much that you started having nonsensical conversations, like whether or not a hot sea even exists. Well it probably depends on the temperature outside.

Yaotome Gaku: Because the thought of you watching the awesome Atami fireworks made me so happy!

Anesagi Kaoru: Fireworks?

Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: That’s right! Anesagi-san, the other day you mentioned that you wanted to go to a fireworks festival after hearing them in the distance on your way home, right?

Kujo Tenn: The moment we heard about the fireworks setting off over the sea, we knew we definitely wanted to show that sight to you.

Anesagi Kaoru: That was just a random passing comment I made… But you guys actually remembered.

Yaotome Gaku: Of course! We’re talking about our precious manager here after all.

Natsume Minami: And so, they suggested combining it with a trip for all the managers as well.

Iori originally says “羽を伸ばしてきてください”  (stretch one’s wings), which is a polite metaphor to suggest someone relaxes and takes a break. I have no idea if it’s intentional, but I think if it is then it’s a pretty clever reference to Silver Sky (the Re:vale song named after Banri’s character color that has bird imagery in both its cover and lyrics). Iori had woken up early as always and got ready for his birthday live at the studio. While in the car with Tamaki and Mitsuki who volunteered to go with them, he kept checking his phone somewhat anxiously.

“What's wrong, Iorin? You look so uneasy” Tamaki pointed out, tilting his head in question.

“Hm, Iori? Are you feeling alright? If you're not feeling well, I'll tell them to cancel the live” Tsumugi who's in the driver seat asked. “Huh? No, it's nothing like that. I'm doing okay” Iori defensively answered.

“If you're not feeling okay, please let me know” Tsumugi uttered in worry. “Is something bothering you?” Mitsuki spoke up.

“No, I'm okay” Iori shook his head. “Cheer up, Iorin! It's your birthday!” Tamaki urges. The birthday boy pursed his lips before humming, eyes gazing out the window.

‘Why isn't [name] replying to my good morning..’

— quickly after paying, you got into your car and drove 45 minutes to the Izumi brother's parent's bakery to pick up the cake they had made specially for their son

— their mother is literally as sweet as sugar

— i mean,, she even apologized for not having her husband meet you because he's delivering the cakes!

— she also gave you like bunny shaped cookies that is decorated in chocolate with either skittles or sprinkles

— after bidding goodbye to the elder woman, you got into your car and got a notification from a group you guys had created without Iori called ‘plans ongoing’

Mitsuki smiled while shoving his phone in his pocket, looking up to his brother who seemed worried or troubled.

It can't be because of the live but then again, he isn't really the type of person to open up so nobody really would know. ‘I'll ask him when we're finally alone’ Mitsuki concluded, his face showing concern.

‘That is if we get to be..’

— of course, you drove and got to their dorm. Riku, Yamato and Nagi was already outside, ready to pick up the stuff that's in the car

— Sogo was still in the dorm, wiping the last dust off the dining table before going out to help you guys

— of course, you and the guys got to WORK‼️

— Nagi and Yamato are blowing the balloons, Sogo is putting up the banners, Riku is placing the cookies on a big plate after putting the cake in the refrigerator

— you on the other hand was decorating the lounge table, helping Sogo afterwards

— right after you guys were done, you all got a notification from the group from Tamaki who informed that they're done with the live

— sighing in relief, you guys let Riku respond to the text

— remembering your car, you excused yourself to move the car to somewhere that is not far but won't be seen

— after parking your car somewhere else, you and the others chatted while waiting for the signal from Mitsuki or Tamaki

— an hour or two passed, you guys finally got the message you guys were waiting for

They're only about 10 minutes away from the dorm and Mitsuki had texted them about it. Iori's in his own little world, wondering what were you doing that you forgot to bid him good morning.

Mitsuki and Tamaki was showing eachother signals as to not speak about it out loud but it's not like Iori was looking.

They too, were wondering why Iori's looking so troubled but they also knew he wouldn't talk about it if they were to ask.

Tsumugi parks in front of the dorm, informing them that they have arrived. After thanking her, they all got out. Tamaki sent a quick text to his friends while also walking behind Iori with Mitsuki beside him.

Iori's hand made contact with the door, turning the knob and pulling it outwards after putting in the passcode.

His usual “I'm home” was cut off by the loud pop and the confettis that dances in the air, softly landing on his hair and shoulder.

“Happy birthday!!” everyone yelled as he stood there confused, blinking to take in what's happening right now.

“Come on, Iori! Make a wish” You held up the cake to him, the fire on the candle sways while Mitsuki shuts the front door. Iori looked around to his friends who all had smiles etched on their lips.

His head turned back to the cake, his surprised face turned into a small smile. “Come on, Iorinn! I wanna eat the cake!” Tamaki whines, quickly getting scolded by Sogo.

Inhaling a deep breath, Iori blew the candle while silently saying his wish over and over again in his head.

Everyone cheered and clapped their hands except you who was holding the cake. “It's time for party!” Nagi cheered. “Happy birthday, Iori” you bid to him with a smile while the others walked towards the couch.

While you were putting the cake on the table, you noticed how he was silently staring at you as if he's asking for something.

“What's wrong?” you questions before picking up the gift you got for him. “Was this why you didn't respond to my good morning text..?” Iori question, somewhat whispering to not catch the other's attentions.

“Oh! I didn't see it, I also forgot! I'm so sorry” you gasped, taking your phone from your pocket to check the text.

“Ahh.. I totally missed it. I'm so sorry, Iori. Will this gift make up for it?” you sweatdropped, holding up the box you have in your hands to him. Silently, he took the gift and the cookie on the table, mumbling a shy thank you.

“Did my mom made this?” he questions, his eyebrow rose after he took a bite. “You really must be her son. I can't believe you can tell just from that! You're right though!” you nodded before taking one, smiling.

After catching up with eachother for a bit you two joins the others. You guys celebrated all night, eating the cake and the cookies. Tamaki ate most of the cookies but thankfully everyone had a taste.

Since it's already getting late, you decided to excuse yourself. Iori and you stood outside, in front of the driver seat car door.

“Good night, I hope this is enough to make up for my mistake” you mumbled before pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek. After pulling away, you smiled at him for a moment before going into the car.

He stood there, completely stoned while you waved and drove off. That kiss might've been better than the gift itself. ♡

Boy, do I love to refer back to "Butterfly" and how it basically framed Taichi as the male main character and Sora as the female main character throughout. One might argue that this is a combination that has been occurring in quite a lot of anime - particularly kids and Shounen related - back in the 90s and early 2000s, so... Asking whether or not canon provides input on them is like asking if water is wet. They've known each other since elementary school, have been in the same class ever since (and will continue to be classmates until graduation) and even attended the same football club for a while. They start the series as "almost telepathically connected" football club duo (basically a novel quote right here), adventurous and hands-on plot drivers, the courageous leader and the tomboyish but caring voice of reason right by his side. You instantly get the impression that they are familiar and close with each other and it's a theme that continues throughout the entire first season; not only because they consistently jump into action and call out, care for and protect each other, but because they, their bond, their loyalty and development are basically responsible for the fact that the kids get through everything alive in the end.

Trying to describe the extent and depth of their relationship would probably end with me writing a whole novel, so I will try to keep this brief, because... You know them. Similarly to Taito, Koumi and Takari, Taiora has been a staple in the shipping scene ever since the conception of Digimon Adventure back in 1999 - and for good reason. As mentioned, there used to be - and still is - a trope to pair up the main boy and main girl with one another and this case is no exception, considering how well they play off of each other, supporting and saving each other time and time again. Digimon Adventure is a special series though - a series whose creators intended to break through tropes and stereotypes, turning those on the head whenever possible. So while Taichi's and Sora's bond may be so significant that the idea of them ending up together seems inherently plausible - this is not how their story ends.

The tomboy, who struggles with her sense of femininity and identity, cannot deal with her best friend gifting her a hairclip - and while they seem thoroughly devoted to and on each other's minds, they develop in different directions. There is a theme of miscommunication between them as they grow older, little quarrels here and there - but at the same time, there is still an incredible sense of mutual fondness and protectiveness that, despite a growing physical distance, never completely vanishes. "If you love someone, let them go", is a quote that may come to mind when you take a look at the screenshot above and are aware of its context. Whether that kind of love was romantic or platonic at this point? We may never know.

This is the story of two close long-term friends, who were not meant to be together - wrong time, wrong place.

... Which doesn't mean that there isn't a potential "right time", right...?

Whether I think why and how they’d work.

What I mentioned above seems to be somewhat cryptic and what I'm about to outline may or may not break canon to a certain degree, but HEAR ME OUT.

While this headcanon is, for now, nothing more than a headcanon, but I am a big supporter of @dutchforstrangers' interpretation of the epilogue, leading to the idea that Yamato and Sora might not remain together/married. This post is not meant to be Sorato slander in any way and I will not go into detail here as to why I think this is a valid headcanon - just know that there are a few subtext aspects in regards to their behavioural patterns and body languages that leave room for speculation. And that's all there is to it: SPECULATION!

The point I am trying to make here is, once again, that Taichi and Sora may not have been ready to be in a relationship early in life - because they first had to come to terms with themselves, their real dreams, aspirations and needs. They had to become comfortable with themselves (particularly after the loss of their Digimon partners) to bridge the (physical and emotional) distance that had festered between them through the years. Because if you think about it, due to their underlying insecurities, they both chose the same approach in their early twenties: Isolating themselves from the rest of their friend group. And I feel like they both have to come to the conclusion first that this is a state that could never bring them long-lasting happiness. They're both social beings that shrivel when they're left alone for too long. (They may also need the encouragement of their friends - particularly Mimi, Koushirou and Hikari - to get there though.)

So it may take a while, weeks, months, maybe even years, to reconcile, step by step. Rekindling their bond, making up their minds about their true passions and career paths, rediscovering old and finding new hobbies and similarities along the way; whether it's about their shared love for their friends, football, adventurous and sporty activities, probably therapy???, whatever it may be... Until they'd reunite with their partners and, with a gleeful but weary smile on their faces, realize that they just had to grow up to this point to eventually find each other as well.

Whether I’d prefer them as platonic or romantic ship.

In case the way I've been talking about them hasn't made it obvious yet - I do love Taiora a lot. While I hadn't started actively shipping Digimon characters until I started watching Tamers, I always had an incredible soft spot for them and up to this day, Taichi and Sora are my second favourite choice for each other. You could say that, in every possible universe in which Taich doesn't end up with Koushirou, he WOULD end up with Sora if I had anything to say. It's also no secret that Taikoura is my absolute favourite OT3 and I really think they COULD work out beautifully together. In the end, both romantic and platonic Taiora is absolutely beautiful to me - especially because it brought some very special, wonderful people into my life. Long story short: As long as their closeness persists in any way, shape or form, I'll be happy.

I also still maintain that the reboot timeline could potentially go there, but I will not get my hopes up... Yet.

back to the mystery files. Why is the game seperating chihiro morimura from chihuro morimura (1 loop ago) and chihiro morimura (2 loops ago). Wait. Unless. I think i figure out what confused me, remember how i couldn't tell if nurse morimura was morimura -2 who died shifting ida -1 to the current loop because she has all her memories, or if she was morimura -1 who 426 izumi killed but who is the right age to reunite with ida on sumire bridge? Well if they both died and she had data saved to sector 0 maybe she was recreated... Which means there were SIX MORIMURAS: 2188, -2, -1, Iori, child who then got 2188's memories, and the morimura recreated from -2. But thats the only explanation that explains the inconsistencies and why the game files events in 3 separate categories when other characters like izumi -2 gets all of 426, fluffy, and shiba's scenes listed under one character. I'm going to look this up. Ok yeah nurse morimura was the ai of -2 morimura but why did she look 16 in the sumire bridge reunion? And not only that she acts like she's 16 thats what threw me off i wonder if when they wrote this scene they didnt know yet which morimura she was. Yeah and in that scene she doesn't recognize ida or know what a sentinel is and is just confused to be 16 years in the past. I still dont get this scene.

Grandma tamal got deleted!! That's why she didn't show up. Hmm so the 1944 tamao is considered the true one and the 1985 one was an AI which means if the compatible shifted before the kaiju attacks they would have also deleted the older ai selves (ex: natsuno in 2064 would have deleted older natsuno). 20 million years since humanity's extinction 2188 ryoko wrote the d-code. Ida spread dd-426 because he wanted the sentinels to fail and the world to be reset faster. "The nurturing of the 15 members started once the terraforming of the new planet was completed" 300+ loops have passed huh so they were stuck in the pods not killed and reborn each time that answers that question. I was wondering about the probes, so each probe can do this, rhen theoretically this entire story is playing out thousands of times across the universe.

There might have been 6 morimuras but -2 izumi juro was the one going by 426, eirika aiba/tamaobot, tomibot, shippo/fluffy, shiba kyuta, 6 names/identities. I went and looked it up and for the scene "Reunion" that was -2 Morimura's data that -2 Okino saved which was her 16 year old self. That still doesn't explain how current Morimura got -2 Morimura's memories though because she definitely acts like she has -2 Morimura's memories and sees them as her own memories instead of events that happened to someone else.

!3 Sentinels has good writing, it was consistently strong with no real low points. The strongest part of the game was probably the beginning right after the prologues as things start clicking together. A few places in the story clunked, but overall it was really well done, just a well made well written game.

I found the combat to be surprisingly fun. I've only dabbled in RTS games before so I came in pretty new to this style of game and ended up liking the combat. The game does a good job of easing new players in while gradually building up the difficulty and it has challenge maps for players that want to get deep into the combat.

My main complaint would be that there's too much romance, but that isn't the game's fault, I just generally don't like romance and am very picky. So sometimes I just wanted to skip past the romance and get back to the stuff I was interested in like the story. I felt some of the couples lacked chemistry, like they failed to sell me on the romance. Juro and Megumi happened so last minute after for the entire game Juro's feelings are ambiguous like him feeling the love Izumi Juro felt is only ever brought up in Megumi's last scene, and Megumi the entire game is in love with the erased Izumi Juro, so the romantic development between the two of them felt sudden. My biggest problem was probably with Yuki and Shu, it really just felt like he was harassing her the entire game, she showed like no interest. Like I get she has a tough personality but it came off as that old trope that as long as he's persistent enough the guy can get the girl. Which is such a shame because girlboss and her boytoy is such a fun dynamic but I don't like how it was done in this game. I found Iori's love at first sight plot rather cringe but it was funny having her entire story be about chasing him around the city while having no clue about the events happening.

Romance is central to the game however and I don't think it could ever be taken out. Romance is used by the game to create character foils between the characters and especially the various characters that are genetically identical. Both the Hijiyamas and Okinos both in 2188 and in the current loop fall in love with each other. The Morimura and Izumi of 2188 were a couple as were the Morimura and Izumi of 2 loops ago. Juro with both his new and old personality of the current loop however both come to love Yakushiji. While Iori falls for Ei. 2188 Ida manipulated Shinonome's infatuation for him just like how Ida of one loop ago uses current loop Ryoko's crush on him so that she's an obedient and convenient pawn. Ida himself meanwhile is primarily driven by his obsessive love towards the Kisaragi of the previous loop. The current loop Shu and Tomi both fall in love with other people however. The different romantic choices highlight how those characters are different from their other versions.

I probably would have disliked it just as much, but I do want to talk about how things could have turned out differently however as it is in line with the game's theme of alternate but equally viable possibilities. For example Juro could have fallen in love with neither Megumi nor Iori thus highlighting how he is different from every other previous version of Juro. Especially since both 2188 Izumi and the one from 2 loops ago view Megumi more as a daughter figure. Ei and Ryoko could have been written as a romantic instead of platonic and familial, which would have been interesting given how Ryoko spends a good chunk of the story convinced he is 426 because she has forgotten that she was the one that infected the sentinels with DD-426. Or otherwise it could have been Ryoko and Shu to highlight how different a person Shu is to Ida given how Ryoko expresses attraction to him. Or Iori could have fallen in love with Yuki which would have been very different from any of the Morimuras, or Renya who had a crush on Morimura. Really if the devs hadn't decided to make Yuki and Natsume genetically family, it could have been a childhood friends romance. Or there could have been something between Juro and Shu, they're friends despite juro being really weird between the memory manipulation and the Shiba but Shu sticks with him throughout, they're part of the weird dream club, and Juro's whole deal could have been the thing to break the tedium and boredom of Shu's life.

Tamao as a character really got the short end of the stick story wise. She had so much going on from being a compatible who is childhood friends with Keitaro and Takatoshi, to Tamao from one loop ago being turned into a Sentinel AI and then an android who was active in Sector 4 during the events of the game before getting body jacked by 426, and then there's Juro's grandma. Tamao of 1 loop ago is also responsible for creating Juro's new personality. There was so much going on with her but her role in the story ended up being very small so while she's referenced by the characters I think she only actually shows up for like 4 scenes.

One thing I really liked was how morally ambiguous the Morimuras were. Professor Morimura from 2188 was partly responsible for the nanomachine plague that wiped out humanity she also planned for her own resurrection where she would become the leader of the new humanity, and after her memories awaken in child Chihiro she plots to destroy the current loop to have a more advantageous start where she can control things better and to this end she kills the other Morimura for having an opposing agenda. Nurse Morimura herself does a number of dubious things like wiping the current loop's Izumi Juro, attempting to recreate the Izumi of 2 loops ago with him. She also attempts to take over Iori to gain compatibility. For the longest time it remains ambiguous what she is doing to Ryoko, whether she is actually trying to help her or to turn her into a puppet. Then there's Operation Aegis itself which would by cutting off Universal Control wipe out the 1.2 million AI residents of the city as well as dooming all the compatible to living the rest of their lives in the ruins of the city.

I liked a lot of the moral ambiguity in general, that for much of the game I was doubting the intentions of many of the characters from Renya, to Morimura, Ida, 426 as well as all the 2188 people involved in Project Arc. Izumi of 2 loops ago really is the definition of well intentioned extremist, I like how the audience is able to see him trial and erroring different solutions. First he tries bombing Shikishima to try and stop the technology being Deimos, then he tries killing all the compatible to stop D-code from sending the invasion signal, then he tries to sever D-code from the compatible which causes brain damage. Eventually he decides to modify the system and bring back the gamification in the simulation's code (exploiting 2188 Okino's sloppy coding the same way 2188 Shinonome did) allowing both Sentinels and Deimos to upgrade, and he does this by manipulating Megumi into shooting the compatible with a patch update to their nanomachine code.

The aesthetics of this game are superb the visuals and art direction are amazing and so is the soundtrack, it all just works so well together.

On a personal level I found Shinonome Ryoko to be annoying, like girl stop chasing the man who clearly cares nothing about you and is just using you. But I did find her story to be very interesting between the mental breakdowns, loss of identity, and how large a role she plays. Ryoko spends the entire story trying so hard and she usually just ends up making things worse, it's great! It's also interesting how most of the plot stuff she does happens in other character's routes, while in her own she's already largely forgotten everything already. I did enjoy watching her snap and shoot Ida dead.

I really liked Yuki which is probably part of why I was disappointed with her romance, she also just seems to attract girls which amuses me. She deserves to send more dudes to the hospital. She spend her entire story with so much pressure first with Ida threatening her only family, and then her dear friend Natsuno goes missing and she's being stalked by an imposter.

Megumi's story was my least favorite. The only part I really liked were the Fluffy/426 reveals at the end. gave her a magical girl story and then made it boring.

Miura's my favorite character, in all his iterations he's just trying so hard for others. He's earnest, curious, contemplative, and determined. I liked the parallels of how 2188 Miura liked history while 1944 Keitaro liked science fiction.

Nenji is surprisingly smart, it's funny when he and Hijiyama are in the same scene because between the two of them Nenji ends up being the smart one. his route gets the distinction of being the only actual time loop, kinda. it was trippy, i liked it although the timed events meant i messed up a lot.

Iori's most interesting for her contrasts and connections to the other 5 morimuras her own story is just her chasing a boy she has a crush on while having no idea what is going on, disappointing but also amusing fom a conceptual standpoint.

Tomi and Natsuno are both characters I like with stories I liked, charming. The reveals for both were well paced and exciting.

Juro does better than Iori because i found how many different parties are all trying to influence his mind interesting, everyone wants something from him from megumi who wants her boyfriend back, to morimura trying to turn him into 426 izumi, to 426 izumi himself who was the one that salvaged his mind. The one part I didn't like was the sudden romance with megumi where all of a sudden in the last scene of megumi's story.

Takatoshi was one of my favorite routes mostly because watching okino interact with him is one of the most entertaining parts of this game. Props to the game for 2188 hijiyama and okino being very explicitly lovers like there's no ambiguity there that the homophobes can latch on to and say they were just friends.

gouto's story was just 2188 morimura chihiro's story, it was good but it wasn't about him at all so he's the least developed character of the bunch.

I really like shu, his story was alright but i think it could have been better. part of this is that his route on its own isn't a complete story you only find out the deal with the mysteries like the 30km limit and inaba miyuki in other routes and the ending. while his kindness and generosity shows through on other stories, i think his own could have shown his ennui better. that he and ida are clones was a good aspect to his character i liked that twist.

while ei as a person is meh for me i did like both his story and his role in other character's stories, partly because of how different they are. His own story is a mystery as he tries to figure out what he was doing before which isn't helped by him having changed his mind mid way, lot of plotting and scheming by multiple parties which I love. Ei in other character stories plays a completely different role however as this is before he loses his memories and thus is a very active agent in the plots of sector 4. His romance with iori was boring but i can't say it was the worst or even in the bottom half. those two would have been more interesting not becoming a couple but i say that about most couples in this game.

For combat I liked the difficulty progression in that it starts off very forgiving for new players and then steadily ups the difficulty. I started out scared because i didn't have a lot of experience with real time strategy on casual but it was really easy so i went to normal but that was still easy so i went to intense and that was still pretty easy. and then the game got much harder, i could have beat the game on intense but by the final level combat was taking up so much time and i wasn't first time s-rank and getting side objectives about half the time and i wanted to focus on story so i went back to normal and breezed through. it took me so long to figure out 1st and 2nd gen sentinels so my main tactics involved the 3rd gen and some 4th gen, they got to level 25 first. i tried to balance exp gain and finished the game around 27-31. i good chunk of my tactics was railgun + missile rain as they were the best at crowd control and wow it got crowded on intense. only unlocked the super missile at the end and wow that thing is powerful. I had yuki span aoes to spot the areas the 3rd gens hadn't killed, amiguchi was a mix of offense and support, and gouto and yakishiji were interceptor bots. hijiyama was useless for so long because i didn't know how to use him but then i found his passives and had him emp spam the entire map to keep heat off the 3rd gen. i mostly had sekigahara anti air flare for half the game because i didn't know how to use him either. it took me a while to figure out how to deal with gladiators and that's how 2nd gen found their niche. then shinonome unlocked cyberattack.

Summary:

Ken continues investigating Lightnimon, but he ends up finding clues that could led to Daisuke's whereabouts. Then he suspects not only Miyako and Iori had gotten new powers. Could this mean Daisuke also had gotten a Digimental Weapon and a new form for one of his armor digimon? Meanwhile... Lightnimon changes his goals and goes after a Chosen Child. His trump card to convince said kid to come with him is... Buddymon's true form??

“The signal was in this area.”

Mimi read the email sent by Koushiro. She looked at the group setting their camp.

“Are you sure this is a good spot for our campsite?” Palmon asked them.

“Yeah, it seems like a safe place to stay at night,” Miyako explained, “There’s a lake, and then there’s some trees. It’s in a good temperature so we won’t freeze or melt.”

“Since then you got that good at camping?” Gummymon (in Terriermon form) asked.

“Oh it was when we were definitely going to have our last showdown with the Digimon Kaiser!” Patamon said.

“It was a good time…” Armadimon commented, then looked at Ken and Wormmon and gasped, “I… I’m sorry you two were having a bad time while we uh… uhhhh… That was insensitive of my part, dagya…”

“Oh no no, it’s okay” Wormmon giggled, “We’re not the kind to delve into the past anymore. And we’re all together now, right Ken-chan?”

But Ken wasn’t there again.

“Ken-chan!?”

“Sigh, again?!” the others said annoyingly.

“... I’m sure i caught a signal here” Ken kept getting separated from the group during his search for more and more details from that popular digimon knight, and was getting too… Away from the 02 group’s camp site.

Then he found marks of a battle. Oh, some burnt branches and leaves. There was a bit of ash too. Some footprints which made Ken follow the trail until they… disappeared?

Perhaps it jumped to the trees, or flew away. Nevertheless, it wasn’t a single creature, but two pairs of footprints. Could this be Daisuke and XV-mon’s…?

But… those didn’t look like XV-mon’s… They seemed… Fladramon’s at least. But… Can Fladramon fly? Ken looked up at the tree’s top and noticed some scorched leaves.

“Huh?”

It’s impossible that Fladramon had used the technique Fire Rocket while carrying Daisuke. So this is when Ken noticed one thing: Miyako and Iori’s digimons had gained a special form for their armor digimon.

“So… Daisuke got one of those too” he mused, “But why is he running away? Why didn’t he message us? Something is wrong here--”

“Ken-kun!!”

Miyako (and Hawkmon) ran (and flew) in his direction and stopped behind him. She was pouting and had her hands on the hips.

“Ugh, why do you need to walk away like that?! At least don’t leave Wormmon behind! What if you get captured or hurt!?”

“I-I’m sorry… I thought… Sorry, I will be more careful.”

“Now let’s go back to the camp, we got a new message from Izumi-senpai. Seems like he found Daisuke is still in this area.”

She grabbed his arm and dragged him back, and he was blushing? Maybe it was because of shame for leaving without warning everyone… Again.

“Next town to be taken is nearby” Frostmon rambled, alone and clenching her fists “I have to prove I’m a good general, I need to--”

“HEY YA, FROST-CHAN! BIRDIE!”

“ARGH!!”

She looked behind her and found Lightnimon. She gave a deep sigh that it froze part of the grass around them when she exhaled.

“What are you doing here!? Were you stalking me!?”

“Oh no no no!” He said calmly, “I just… Well, can you give me a bit of information? I think I want to ally with your army!”

“You?! Pfft Hahahahaha, you’re just a rookie! Child level digimon are not supposed to join big armies like master Duskmon’s!!”

“You… Think I’m not strong?” he said with a serious voice now, “Well then…” And he summoned the Lighdramon-esque weapon, pointing it at her “I’m sure you’re aware that someone is ruining your territory war. This ‘mon is me.”

“W-what!? How do you--”

“I won’t give you my secrets. So… If you want to make a good deal better you accept me in your army.”

She gulped. Of course she heard of him, everyone was talking about him and how he managed to destroy enemies and free villages and cities from Duskmon’s domain. And now this seemed like a threat right…?

“O-Ok, I let you be part of my army!” She said, “But please stop slaughtering my soldiers!”

“Good, good.” he rested his glaive, “I want to talk to your master too.”

“W-why!?”

“Because if I will be working under someone’s orders… I want to meet them first. Do you know where I can find this ‘Master Duskmon’ anyway, Frost-chan?”

 “I… I do. There’s a castle at the north, in the mountain region. It’s not easy to go there by walking, so… There’s a portal connecting to it in this area.”

“Where?”

“Between the trees, to activate it you have to pull the lever, which is a branch with a black rose.”

“Good good. Then, I will be going. Say hello to your soldiers for me” and he chuckled, leaving calmly.

“Umm… That digimon is strange” Frostmon blinked, then shook her head, “Whatever! I need to be focused!! Focus, Frostmon, FOCUS!!”

“You got something to do tonight?” Lightnimon returned to the spot he and Buddymon were hiding, “Because we got a new destiny.”

“Huh? Didn’t she… try to kill you?”

“Nah, we’re getting along. Once we get him back, we don’t need to worry.”

“I hope so, I don’t like how you’re acting…”

“Neither I… I hate to be doing this”

“He won’t accept coming with us though… We need the Chosen Children for that!”

“Don’t worry, he will hear you out.”

“Me!? But--”

“Y’know, not Buddymon. Your other self.”

“So if Daisuke is in this area, how will we find him?” Miyako asked the group.

“We could send a message again,” Iori suggested.

“Or go around the area trying to catch his D-3 signal,” Takeru said.

“The best way to do that is asking Koushiro-kun to send us coordinates,” Mimi explained, “But at this hour he might be sleeping. We can’t force him to spend all of his time on the computer. He got college to attend.

“Right,” Hikari nodded, “Perhaps we should… Go to sleep? In the morning we can ask for the coordinates, he might have more time for that.”

“Yeah, let the man have a break!” Patamon cheered.

“Hmm, Ken?” Tailmon looked at the boy, “Are you listening to us?”

“Huh?” Ken blinked, he was a bit surprised by Tailmon’s question, “Sorry I was a bit… lost in my thoughts.”

“What were you thinking?” Wormmon asked.

“... Maybe Daisuke has the same abilities Miyako-san and Iori-kun had acquired.”

“Huh?” They all looked at him now.

“I found some footprints and ashes in a specific part of this area.”

“So…” Iori mused “Daisuke-san has a Digimental turned into a weapon and a new variation of either Fladramon or Lighdramon?”

“Exactly” Ken responded with a nod.

“Footprints and ashes…” Miyako repeated “So, The Digimental of Friendship turned into a weapon and Fladramon got… a new form right?”

“That’s my suspicion.”

“Oh… Incredible deduction Ichijouji-kun, Miyako-san” Takeru commented and smiled.

“But can this happen to us too?” Hikari looked at her digivice, “Have a new form for Nefertimon, Pegasusmon and Pucchiemon? Or our Digimentals turn into weapons?”

“Possibly?” Ken shrugged, “Miyako-san, please try to evolve Hawkmon with that shuriken.”

“Now?? Okay” she got up, summoned the Shuri-Shuriken and pointed it to Hawkmon, “Sincerity Digimental Up!”

A few seconds and… nothing? She tried again and one more time but no success.

“Eh!? I can’t evolve Hawkmon to Shurimon!!”

“I see…” Iori said, “When they’re in this form, they’re unable to work as an evolution item. There must exist a way to revert them, but it wouldn’t be a good hour to revert them back to Digimental state.”

“Yeah…” Armadimon nodded.

“Oh Okay okay…” Miyako babbled “So don’t do those with yours! You only have one Digimental!”

“Maybe I could use mine” Ken said in silence, “Pucchiemon is not a strong digimon--”

“But what if we need Pucchiemon again for some reason!?” Miyako protested “No, don’t do that Ken-kun!”

“O-ok I won’t try to transform it into one of those weapons…!!” He was a bit nervous?

“Okay so let’s sleep” Mimi interrupted them, “We will need energy to search for Daisuke-kun tomorrow morning.”

The group slept, except for Mimi and Palmon who offered to keep watching the camp and the surroundings. Palmon pointed at something passing very fast in the horizon, running to the forest. Then she checked her digivice and there was a dot not much far from them. She sighed and then looked at Palmon.

“Do you think it’s them?”

“Maybe?” the plant digimon shrugged.

“Um, I wonder if they’re okay…”

Suddenly her phone vibrated in her purse, she took it and checked it.

“Oh a message…”

She opened the message and Palmon jumped in Mimi’s lap to read it with her.

“Uh… What does it mean?”
