happy ww! <3 if sam and dean don't get together until they are older, what do you think that looks like for them? how they come to realize their feelings, how they act on/address them, how they even begin to broach the subject with the other?
I have this view of late seasons sam and dean as incredibly settled and comfortable with themselves and each other in this regard, in a way that simply is not / was not possible when they were younger. Both because youth is tumultuous and learning to be okay with yourself takes time and experience, but also because your first apocalypse is a cataclysm, and your tenth is old hat.
Not only that, but through their various journeys together, particularly after s8 when we see them resolve their "infidelities" and commit to one other (in holy matrimony in that church), they have a level of trust in their bond that is different. It's tested in s9 with the lying/possession and then the attempt at distance following that, but reaffirmed from the s9 finale all through s10 with sam's willingness to damn the world (and die himself) for dean.
Which means that if they don't get together until they're "older", which I'm going to interpret here as late seasons or at least after s10, then i think it looks like a weirdly healthy and comfortable journey given that it's fraternal incest with enmeshed codependency and the fate of the world as collateral damage.
in their earlier years, there's this real fear of 'losing' each other, which comes in many forms but which includes the potential to do something so egregious as to alienate themselves from the other. this means that there is this possibility, real or imagined, that hangs over them, that if they admit or act on this (potentially unrequited because neither is testing if the other feels the same) attraction, they could damage their brotherhood. they have something huge to lose and feel a real potential to lose it. even if they trust the other won't abandon them over an attraction they didn't necessarily choose if it were to be discovered and unrequited -- and that trust itself is hard and fraught -- then it would still complicate and disgust and alienate, or so they would be likely to believe, at least in this mental scenario of them feeling attracted but not acting on it until they're older.
i suppose there are other scenarios, where they don't realize or experience that attraction yet, although that feels unlikelier to me, and it makes more sense to my mind that the attraction wouldn't suddenly manifest when they're older, but would be there the whole time, if latent and not even that important (because nothing is so important as their bond, and sexual and/or romantic attraction just isn't the most critical thing about how they feel toward each other).
but by a certain point, they've done so much worse to and for each other, and been through so much together and for each other, that worrying about this as if it's a huge dark evil secret would eventually start to feel almost childish. it would still enervate while hidden and unspoken, but it wouldn't feel like this damning thing in the same way, and i think would become an unspoken but obvious understanding between them.
meaning that by the time it slips from unspoken to spoken, it would be almost incidental or accidental, a quirk of 'oh we're acknowledging that now?' and a tension of 'are we sliding into that territory for real?'. It would still involve some potentially nervewracking navigating, but less on the "oh shit he knows oh fuck" side of exposure, and more on the "so what the fuck does this look like and is it worth it to explore knowing it could go wrong or is it better to keep things how we have them know, which is pretty damn good actually". It's a more mature and complex discussion, even if a silent and internal discussion, and a little less "throw overselves over this cliff and see what happens".
i like late season domestic era first time. i like to think that in a certain way, it feels like a foregone conclusion to them, and a bit like coming home, and a bit like "finally". <3

i've always been weirdly fascinated by set design and interior decor and Fake Houses Of Fake People, so i was creeping on screenshots and a) cameron and chase have a very nice kitchen but b) i absolutely cannot believe either of them know how to or want to cook. what is this clutter. who are they trying to fool. the only believable thing is the coffee machine
-
from other screenshots, it's also a) not the same place established as cameron's apartment in 'the itch' (bedroom is 100% different), but it is the same place they were hanging out in at the tailend of s5, before they got married. in late s5, cameron makes reference to a condo, but when they briefly almost breakup before the wedding, chase offers to "move out."
here's the apartment in s5.23

and here's views of it in s6:

we never really see chase's place — he exits his building in the end of s3, but it's not clear at the time if that's his front door or the building's door (he's a rich kid, it could be either). according to cameron in the itch, his 'place' (not made clear if it's an apartment, condo, or what) looks like it was 'decorated by a drunk rugby player,' which rules out this massive kitchen house. unless, at some point after 'the itch,' the two moved in together into chase's apartment (i can buy his was bigger/nicer: see, rich kid), and cameron redecorated the entire place.
in s8? chase is still living there, although he has somewhat redecorated. park moves in for a little while, so the apartment is slightly bigger than it appears and has at least a "spare bedroom." the layout is internally consistent, although it's not super clear where the bathrooms/other bedrooms are.

in conclusion: i'm pretty sure this was always chase's apartment. cameron moved in in the back end of s5 and redecorated the place i guess, but he stayed when she left. i actually thought chase moved and was in a different apartment in s8, but no: the windows and layout is the same. there is no point to this post i am just really weirdly into fake houses. love how the place immediately gets way messier when cameron leaves, makes complete sense honestly, i still don't believe chase can cook tho

Tyrion scaping any punishment is like Corlys avoiding Cregan's justice.
Hello @eonweheraldodemanwe ,
Not gonna lie, the s8 Tyrion gave me strong Corlys vibes.
Maybe show stole some ideas from that F&B book (tbh I don't know when they wrote the s8 scripts but also they already had TWOIAF book) or Martin really told them to take inspiration from Corlys for Tyrion/told them Tyrion's story points earlier.
But when I look back I can see that even s7 Tyrion was the Corlys of Got.
THIS IS NOT A META, I AM JUST FOOLING AROUND A LITTLE FOR FUN SO DON'T COME AT ME.
He sided with the female heir (Rhaenyra/Daenerys)
He didn't want her to burn KL.
When Lord Bartimos Celtigar urged Rhaenyra to reduce King's Landing to ash and bone, Corlys strongly opposed the idea, telling him "we want to rule the city, not burn it to the ground". [awoiaf]
He tried to stop the execution of lords (Tarlys...)
With these threats in mind, Lord Corlys suggested to Rhaenyra that she should offer pardons to Lord Borros Baratheon, Ormund Hightower and House Lannister, send Queen Alicent Hightower and Queen Helaena Targaryen to the Faith, make Aegon II's daughter Jaehaera Corlys's ward, and to marry her to her own son Aegon in due time, while allowing her half-brothers to take the black. Rhaenyra, however, insisted that her half-brothers had broken their vows before, and that the vows of the Night's Watch would mean little to them. Prince Daemon proposed to destroy both House Lannister and House Baratheon, and granting their seats to Ulf White and Hugh Hammer, two of the four dragonseeds, but Corlys, horrified by this suggestion, insisted that half of the Westerosi lords would turn against them if they were to destroy two ancient and noble houses.
He tried to save his kin and became a betrayer (Tyrion tried to save Jaime and Cersei) ...
also Red Keep's dungeons part is sending me...
After the Two Betrayers went over to Aegon II's side during the Second Battle of Tumbleton, Lord Corlys spoke in defense of the two remaining dragonseeds, Nettles and Addam Velaryon. He remarked that Addam and Alyn were "true heirs" and worthy of Driftmark, and that Nettles had fought valiantly in the Battle in the Gullet. His protests were in vain, however, and Rhaenyra commanded Ser Luthor Largent to arrest Addam in the Dragonpit. Corlys warned Addam, who made his escape on Seasmoke's back. Confronted by an angry Ser Luthor, Corlys did not deny the accusations of treachery. Corlys was bound and beaten before he was taken down into the Red Keep's dungeons and thrown into a black cell to await trial and execution.
And he kind of switched sides too...
Queen Alicent Hightower and Lord Larys Strong offered Corlys a full pardon, in exchange for his support of King Aegon II. Corlys, however, made demands of his own, insisting that all who had fought for Rhaenyra should be pardoned, that his granddaughter Baela should be released immediately, and that Aegon the Younger and Princess Jaehaera should be wed and be proclaimed Aegon II's joint heirs. Although Queen Alicent was outraged by the proposals, Lord Larys Strong convinced her to accept the terms, and Corlys swore his loyalty to Aegon II.
This part is just too much.. welp.
King Aegon II, however, was less willing to heed Corlys's counsel, and when the king insisted on ending Rhaenyra's line, either by making Aegon the Younger a eunuch or by having him take the black, and Ser Tyland Lannister argued for Aegon the Younger's immediate execution a horrified Corlys accused them of being "fools, liars, and oathbreakers" and stormed out. Lord Larys Strong afterwards went to Corlys to bring him back on the council, and together they secretly plotted to end the war.
Tyrion is gonna end the war people, that's why his a*s will be pardoned.
I hate it here
He is working for PEACE. GREAT MAN. THE BEST MAN (sarcasm)
Following the death of Aegon II Targaryen, Corlys sent envoys to Casterly Rock, Storm's End and Oldtown, who had been Aegon II's main supporters, suing for peace. When Lord Cregan Stark arrived in King's Landing, he took power over the court and, insisting that the poisoners of Aegon II were punished, had twenty-two men arrested, including Corlys. This time became known as the Hour of the Wolf. Corlys was spared a trial. Instead, he was freed thanks to an edict of King Aegon III Targaryen that Baela and Rhaena Targaryen had persuaded him to issue. Alysanne Blackwood promised Lord Cregan her hand in marriage if he would honor the edict, which he did.
Corlys served as one of the regents for Aegon III Targaryen during from 131 AC until his death in 132 AC. Corlys was regarded as the most powerful of the regents. When he died of old age on the sixth day of the third moon of 132 AC, at the age of seventy-nine, his body was placed beneath the Iron Throne for a week. Marilda of Hull and her son, Alyn Velaryon, sailed Corlys's remains to Driftmark on Mermaid's Kiss. Corlys was then buried at sea east of Dragonstone on his ancient Sea Snake. When the ship sank, the Cannibal allegedly flew overheard in salute.
He was pardoned by the CHILD KING and the STARK LORD is sth we can't deny to see.. And he served as the child king's regent.
What if
Aegon is Bran,
Cregan and Alysanne (ALaYNE + SANsa)
are Jon and Sansa.
OMG are they gonna pardon his as*???
Bran: he made me a saddle in AGOT
Jon: he opened my eyes to see the reality in AGOT
Sansa: He saved me from Joff and he didn't r*pe me in ACOK/ASOS
LET'S PARDON HIM.
Yikes, we cracked the code..
So that's why Drogon didn't die?? He is gonna salute Tyrion's corpse when he is gonna die in old age (the jerk won't even die young).
Anyway yeah, like I said in my previous ask, having strong allies, family name, influence and leverages will help him in the end like Corlys' case.
BTW what's up with Martin's faves and their ships?? Tyrion in ADWD and Arya with her show ending on a ship?? Let's discuss.
You are so lucky Westeros. But I am gonna move into North, I think.
Thanks for the ask, have a nice day.
