23 year old players having mental problems that are effecting their on ice play NOOOOO who would’ve thought!!! almost like they’re CHILDREN. it’s just unfortunate they don’t get the grace other players on different teams would get because sabres fans are impatient. even tage said last year they let the pressure and outside noise get to them and he’s older/played longer. it’s annoying! and honestly really sad that these players get into their heads like this and play poorly because of the rabid fans

dylan has also said multiple times that the added pressure of a new contract and expectations made him nervous last year, and i'm sure others feel the same way. i don't think pressure is a bad thing but geez, i'm truly shocked at how terribly un-understanding this fanbase is when SO many of the sabres success stories didn't get truly GOOD until they were past 24 or 25. like look at tage, casey, and sam reinhart, NONE of them REALLY broke out until their mid to late 20s. the only prospect that has come through here and immediately lived up to expectation is jack eichel.

even ras took nearly FOUR TO FIVE YEARS after his first nhl year to finally develop into the player he is now. like for how much we love to reference our 14 year playoff drought, sabres fans LOVE to forget their own history, cause there were people in 2021 saying we needed to trade ras for assets and look at him now. we literally bridged him and half the fandom was in AGREEMENT of it because they thought he was shitty and a bridge deal would be easier to trade.

we have SEEN this before. give it time. it's growing pains. unless you want to punt off yet another young core and have it come back to blow up in your face
