LTG Nadja West is currently the 44th U.S. Army Surgeon General and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Medical Command. She is the first African-American Army Surgeon General, the first African-American female active-duty major general and the highest ranking female officer to have graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point (USMA ‘82).
