Lots of SUPers and surfers miss waves or get tired arms from dragging around a lot of extra fin area. Every square inch is drag. Our WG2 longboard/SUP fin has about 20 to 30 percent less surface area--and less drag as a result--but ample hold, drive and tracking. Our WG2 has a bit more than 30 square inches in area. Most dolphin fins are about 42-45 square inches or more, so they slow a board and take more horsepower to paddle. What's the best inflatable SUP? What to look for, what to avoid? Tips? I'm thinking of developing fins for iSUP boards, and want a good all-around test platform, more lake and distance-touring oriented, less race-oriented (not too narrow!), though I'd like to test some river-race fin designs eventually too.
