"Don't you think Brookwood...is kind of rubbing it in their faces that we're here?" Lola's question wasn't demanding an answer, her tone was light and she was mainly asking herself as she sat opposite Chase in her trailer. "Oh well, it came from the top, right? Who are we to question it." she chuckled because Lola did question authority frequently, but quietly and kept her opinions to herself. Noticing she had fetched her own drink and not one for Chase, she pointed back to her kitchen. "Did you want one?" she offered, too little too late perhaps. She set down her drink, dropping her chin into her hands as she thought. "We have a few people scattered Downtown too, i nearly always forget about them. I could drop by and tell Brooks or you could, if you wanted a little show at the same time." she laughed.

Even though divorce was a very real possibility for Lola and Cruz, she didn't like to think about it. It seemed too difficult to imagine a world where she didn't call Cruz her husband, so Carina's sympathy felt misplaced and caused Lola to try her best at seeming genuine. "I wouldn't want you to come back for something like that. Honest, Carina. I'll be fine." she touched her friend's hand in turn and forced a sheepish smile. "I think Diego was all for it, but we've not really talked much. It's kind of like...we all know happened but we refuse to even acknowledge that it did." At least that part was true. "I don't think even Diego could change Bruce's mind. Whole thing was a disaster."
LOLA'S HOME + LOLA
"i'm sorry that's just...a shock." carina sighs, hands reaching across the table to take hold of lola's. it didn't matter if it was by blood or marriage, they were family and the two women kept in good contact over the years carina was gone. now is the first time she hears about cruz though and the divorce, pushing her into nurturing mode quickly. "lola i wish you said something i could've come back a lot sooner." she adds, patting their joined hands. "is there anything i can do? what if i talk to diego? i know he must be heartbroken too, cruz and him were inseparable." @dxrkenedheights

"Oh Good, you're home. Come on." Lola's head appeared through the trailer door as she laughed, catching just a sight of fluffy curls and knowing she was speaking to Fox before she was gone again in a flash. "Bring some beers, pass them up." She added with no context as enough was given by the way she climbed onto the deck and then tried to carefully scramble her way to the trailer roof. "The fireworks will be any minute, I heard Andy has a bunch too so it's gonna be great." she smiled as she saw him appear on the steps, waving her hands to gesture for the case of beers. "Quickly!"

Compared to the time Rigo has been locked up for in the past, his recent stint behind bars was short. Still, it didn't mean Lola was any less excited to welcome him back to the troublesome trailer park. "Ah, smell that air." she breathed in deeply, smiling widely as her arms stretched out. "We've needed this rain." she then said, spinning slightly to give her cousin a light punch on the arm. "I bet it feels good to feel the rain again, huh? That's why your skin looks all saggy and gross, you're dehydrated. Like spiritually too. All that energy from everyone around you soaked up in your skin." she explained matter of fact but softly. "I think that's why people end up going back, you know." And she was off onto her own conversation before she spun back around again. "You know the first time you went, did you really write your name on the wall? I bet that brings you back to it too." And the fact...he stabbed people.

"Oh, hmm, true." Lola nodded, and maybe they had thought too deeply into Fight Night and people genuinely enjoyed the rough entertainment. But, she appreciated that about Chase or at least all of her experiences with the other watcher. He almost seemed different to the other members, nicer that was for sure. "Plus isn't there a risk of y'know..." she sliced her hand across her neck, closing her eyes as her tongue quickly darted from her mouth. "One punch is all it can take. So maybe...it's a way to get rid of members?" she shrugged then, laughing because each conspiracy had legs but none really made sense. "It's a done deal, I'll find Wolf and just between them there'll be a whole barn full. Did you hear about Ryan's son? Just showed up recently. So, even when you think there's enough Andersons or Crosses, one more will always appear."
Lola chuckled at the question, shaking her head with a small smile. "Like someone someone? No, I'm what's the word they use? Er...too ditsy to take seriously, I was told. Which is funny if it wasn't sort of hurtful." she pointed once she found it, no malice or bitterness in her tone as she laughed because she guessed it was true. To an extent. "Do you have someone to impress with it?" she asked, equally curious now as her brows quirked slightly with her grin. "Yeah sure! I'd love that, plus I could bring a little notepad and pen and they'll think I'm writing a scathing review and make it taste even better." she chuckled, not reading into the invitation as anything other than a friend asking a friend. Because that's what it was, right? "Oh, I won't be going. I think it's...well, barbaric and kind of stupid. No offence if you're going, I just think why hurt someone who has your back half of the time? I know they don't take it seriously but still. That'd be like throwing me and you in the ring together, it seems odd."
Chase has always found Lola interesting for the fact that she stands on her own, apart from her family despite how close they all seem. When everything went down with Cruz, she's one of the few people who didn't blame Chase. And he never forgot that, finding comfort in someone believing him that it was just bad luck. Someone who wasn't his father or sister. It's how they became friends in the first place. "You think so? Kinda figured people like to volunteer. Maybe it's not really volunteering so much as they've been strongly suggested to do it?" He shrugs, uncertain of the inner workings of Fight Night even several years into being a Reaper. He relays messages and that's about as much information as he ends up privy to. "Yeah, sure – I'll take the Andersons then. Tell one, you tell 'em all."
He chuckles as she slides over the drink and takes a sip, nodding his thanks before he considers her words "Mmm, yeah, guess so. You have anyone take you to a place like that then?" he asks, curious. She's pretty, anyone with eyes can see that, but he's also known her to be a bit of an odd bird. Chase like that about her. Honestly, if he didn't work there, he might offer to take her himself. "If you ever wanna stop by for like lunch or something, just to see...it's not bad food." He's not asking her out, he's just inviting her to stop by. There's a difference, right? Shifting slightly he nods at her. "Who're you betting on? Hunter or JJ? Think one of them will actually win this time?"

Chuckling at her curly headed friend, Lola took up the beer and then offered a hand to help Fox who seemingly had everything under control, anyways. People like him were a rarity, Lola would say as such to anybody who asked. Among the gravelly deviousness of Center Hill, Fox was like a little light. A lot of light, when you were special enough to be a friend to him. "I bet the colors would be amazing too. Probably feel like the whole sky was a firework." she hummed, and she had a certain taste for psychedelics even if her cousins weren't exactly happy about it. She didn't hide it, either. "I say let's try and see what happens. Plus, if you forgot about them and remembered right now, then this is the right timing?" she shrugged, grabbing the shrooms from him kindly. Risky business blindly guessing the dose but she chuckled, glancing to Fox. "Wait, you're better at this than I am. Do we just share one?"
Fox's distracted mind was quickly focused by the whip of pink hair through the trailer door and then back out again, making him laugh as he moved from the couch to follow. "Oh shit, yeah. Beer." he nodded, spinning around for a moment before finally heading in the direction of the kitchen. Once outside with the pack, he lifted them up for Lola to take and precariously started his climb. "Awwww man, I should've planned this a lot better." he mentioned, pulling himself to the roof beside her and sighing once he was sat. Fox tapped his pocket then. "I have some shrooms but forgot all about them until you just mentioned fireworks, and then I thought ah man, seeing fireworks high would be amazing. I bet they'd feel like they were exploding in your brain or something." he pulled out the little tin anyways, incase Lola was feeling like her tastebuds could handle the ghastly taste alone. "Then I was like oh shit, I have some all along." Fox chuckled loudly, waving it around in gesture. "Wanna try and see if the timing works?"

Lola nodded, always flashing her validating smile whenever she listened to somebody. And she loved to listen, sometimes she seemed swept up in romantic thoughts even during a simple conversation. Her chin propped in her palm as she nodded to Chase, eye contact never breaking. "Well, it's funny you should say that. I was thinking the same but then I thought, what if it's like a selection process? Or a way to...see properly how well some of the members can handle themselves? It's almost like a test, it seems. Like oh, he won this many, let's use him for this." Lola shrugged thinking if that was the truth, how quaint. All these men flashing their big muscles for a test. "Aw, I love Wolf. I think I'm probably going to go and find him first so I can see how he's doing." she smiled at the thought, taking another sip of her drink and then sliding it slightly closer for Chase again. She had to think harder for a moment, laughing when the best she could come up with was another question. "Doesn't it matter more about the person taking me? I think if they were trying to show off, I wouldn't like it but if they poured effort into taking me then I'd love it. It's always about the person, could be just as happy splitting a bottle and sitting on a trailer roof for a date."
"You know what I kinda think?" Chase says with a conspiratorial smile, "I bet this is coming from way up the chain," he gestures above him, indicating the very top. Lee Cassidy. "Wouldn't be surprised if he's cherry picking dates for it still. Why else wouldn't it be able to change? There's probably other things lining up." Chase conjectures without any real proof as he bites into his sandwich. He scoffs at Lola's offer of her drink but takes a sip anyway. "Yeah, well, still gotta mark down that we've hit 'em both. I can probably run into Elliot and have him tell the rest. Apparently Wolf's working at the flower shop too." He chuckles at the thought, the middle Cross well known for being a stressed out dude. "It's fine. Food's pretty good, too, so I don't mind the free meals. Still don't get how people pay that much for dinner. What would you think if someone took you out there? Like it's nothing special or they're trying to impress you?" He's seen it all on shift, first dates meant to impress, second, third or fourth dates where it's run of the mill.

Lola copied Chase's exact movements, nodding and shrugging as she laughed. "Yeah, true." she sighed, knowing there wasn't much either of them could do even if it was. "And fight night's been a thing for so long I don't think they'd ever cancel it." she shrugged again, tucking her feet up onto the seat to get comfortable. "Have you ever done it?" Lola's curiosity always got the better of her but she'd never attended a fight night and didn't think she ever would. Blood sports made no sense to her. "Inconvenience?" she laughed then and shook her head. "You'd never be one, don't be silly." Lola added, laughing like Chase had made up a word. Nodding, she sipped her drink but then pushed the glass to the middle of them incase Chase wanted any. "Sounds good to me, great thing about the Andersons and Crosses is they sort of tell each other." she chuckled. "How's life in la Belle anyways? Does it feel weird seeing everybody who's never had their power cut out all in one place?"
Chase nods and shrugs at the same time which might be confusing for someone other than Lola. He means yes but what can we do? but is too busy chewing his sandwich to answer for a moment. "I mean, it might be...kinda far enough away and technically not on club property right?" He'd been surprised to hear the change of location but orders are orders and he's tasked with sharing the news, not questioning it. "And with that new patrol, it makes sense why it had to move." It was that or risk the police. He gives her a pointed look and shakes his head. "No, I don't want to inconvenience you," but his tone is light, unbothered and content to enjoy his sandwich on its own. "I can hit Club Diamond, tell Brooks no problem. I've got a shift tomorrow. I got my dad and the Joneses too. You wanna take the Crosses or the Andersons?"
