Been in a funk for a few days because life has me very much in my head, so that’s why I’m in comfortable attire. The goal was to just accomplish something to disrupt the spiraling thoughts, and this is something from Open Studio Jazz that I wanted to try from their video about Red’s Spreads (the style of playing the melody with octaves and a perfect fifth, popularized by Red Garland)

SN: I wanted to turn the keyboard volume up without making it too loud in the house, so I plugged headphones into the keyboard to mute the outward sound while I recorded with my iRig 2. So I was playing this while barely hearing it from my headphones on the side😅

From June 13 to July 2, 2023, I had the opportunity to play for the Atlanta stage production of The Wiz, which we affectionately called “Lemon Pepper Wiz.” It was the director’s love letter to Atlanta and it was such an amazing experience. This was my first time doing a play and I wanna do more!

This clip features me as I play one of my favorite songs: Meet The Wiz. During this scene, Dorothy and her friends are finally meeting the Wiz in Emerald City. So this song captures how dramatic and powerful the Wiz is believed to be with a bossa nova groove

It was this clip that made me say out loud “I loooove my bass playing!” lol specifically the part where I deviate from the established bass line and do a mini solo. Super proud of my growth as a bass player during this entire process! My goal here was to solo for three measures while complementing the lead singer, which is why I finish it by playing in unison with him. Matching his cadence while staying in tempo was kinda tricky

What you’ll hear is my in-ear mix, which includes the metronome, guide, my music director, and other musical parts. Hope you enjoy!

Also I don’t own rights to this music, but the bass playing is all me lol

This was the song we would play to let people know that we were starting act 2. I have two versions of this songs that I enjoy but I’m posting this one because I love the Lion’s reaction to the drums lol

I love how this song flowed in and out of keys, starting in C minor, going to E flat minor, back to C minor, and then ending in A minor. Minor chord structures in diminished movements. TedyP is an amazing music producer for this track alone🔥🔥

This song leads into the music for the start of the scene. The audience finally sees the lair of Evillene the Wicked Witch of the West, so the minor chord structures in diminished movements of the song aptly set up the dark feeling of the scene

Yo I killed this.

I mean it ain't perfect, but I had never thought I could do some of the runs I did. I don't remember how long, but it took me at least a few days to get a clean run-through. I was tired, it was getting dark and cold, my fingers were sore from being stretched and pressing down on those hard piano keys that I wasn't used to, but I did it.

This is my rendition of Tye Tribbett’s “Beauty For Ashes.” The phrase “beauty for ashes” comes from Isaiah 61:1-3, which tells of the marvelous works that Christ Jesus came to do. I did this to encourage @intreauxspection and I wanted to encourage you all as well :-)

Album No. 1 || Love Like Logan:  

                           “Shame is for people with something to regret, not people trying to forget...”

1. Dirty Work - Halestorm: The song is more about Logan than coming from Logan’s perspective. It relates to Logan because of her new fixation with older women. She has been there and done that with girls around her age and finds something thrilling about the difference in experiences she has with older women. Despite the dominant nature she clearly has, Logan is more than willing to be submissive to a woman who knows how to take control.

2. Just Freaking - Freakadelika: Logan has a shameless reputation when it comes to her sexuality. She was well known in high school for being the girl most girls had their first lesbian experience with, and holds true to that even in her life out of high school. She believes sexuality is something to be explored and has little reservations on the subject. Logan does not view sex as an intimate subject, she more so sees it the way someone would see taking mind altering drugs. The rush itself is worth it.

3. Fingerprints - Kita Klane: In a literal sense, Logan’s affairs could very well leave “fingerprints”. To those who pay attention, it can be seen in how Logan carries herself. From the way she walks to the tone in her voice that the aggression and dominance is waiting just below the surface. The competitive attitude she has on the field is something that often carries over into her flings. Logan favors the rougher side of her partners, and has had visible evidence to prove it.

4. Under the Influence - Elle King: As always there are two side to every coin. While Logan enjoys the company of older woman more now that she is out of high school, she still finds herself involved with girls still attending the school more often than she would like to admit. Her name still circulates around the halls and she doesn’t try hard to stop the rumors, even if some most may not be true. Her approach with younger girls is slightly different from that with older women. Logan takes more control and is less willing to be submissive towards someone younger than her, finding it a quick turn off if a younger girl tries to hold the same authority over her most older women can get away with.

5. Bad Habit - The Kooks: Love is something Logan avoids entirely. The second feelings start to come into question she tends to find ways around them. Her particular tastes make it hard for most to get beyond a physical attraction with the brunette. Those who have managed some sort of relationship with Logan before have all ended up resenting her in the aftermath.

6. Earned it - The Weeknd: Logan’s interest are usually too extreme for most, because of this she only reveals parts of her interests in moderation. It is rare that those who don’t express the same interests up front ever see Logan pushed to her extremes, however working the extremes out of others seems to be part of the fun for her.

7. Protect Me From What I Want - Placebo: More times than not Logan will warn those clearly interested in her to be careful, if she can sense they may not be psychologically or emotionally prepared for her lifestyle then she will most likely protect them from themselves and avoid their advances by drawing attention to how ready they really are not. This tends to happen with younger girls more so than older women.

8. Coming Down - Halsey: In context the song is more so about effect Logan can have over those she becomes involved with. She can appear like an angel and the devil all in one to the right person, providing a type of freedom while also wrapping them up in a vicious cycle that many don’t come back from. Like a drug the high is the best part, but the come down is the worst and the addiction becomes harder to kick with each taste.
