so saw this post and it made me think of a similar (but different) cherik au.
so there's this show called splitting up together. I've never watched it but my mom loves it and it has pam from the office which is cool and anyway i've had it explained to me like. 500 times. so i feel confident in basing an au off this.
Charles and Erik can't stand each other. Charles and Erik are married. Charles and Erik have three kids.
Charles and Erik get a divorce.
Charles and Erik continue living in the same house.
(this is the premise of the show. this is actually all i know about it besides there being a scene where they sing the pina colada song so everything from here on out is pretty much me making shit up).
Basically, one of them has the little in law unit in the backyard and one of them is in the house parenting the kids, switching off weeks. But they're basically in the same house. The in law unit is connected, let's say, and doesn't have a kitchen.
So on their off weeks from parenting they date other people and you know, whatever, it's fine. Erik starts going out with this lady Magda, charles hits on his friend moira to no avail but ends up going on some dates with this dude logan who's one of moira's friends.
ANYHOO neither relationship really goes well.
Logan's like, bub, you're self-sacrificing to the point where it's just exhausting to be around you because you're a fucking pushover. Except for when you're being STUBBORN to the point of idiocy.
And Magda's like, whoa, shit man, you've got some SERIOUS mental health issues dontcha. Erik's like NO I'M FINE THERAPY IS FOR THE WEAK and Magda just looks at him like. bruh. you are not fine. You have anger management issues, probably some form of PTSD, and severe anxiety to the point where you are just tiring.
Meanwhile, parenting wise, things are going pretty shitty too.
Charles can't get the kids to do anything. Wanda's been sneaking out at night to see her boyfriend and he's pretty sure pietro is running with a bad crowd now and his grades are dropping and LORNA. bloody fucking hell, lorna is a NIGHTMARE whose favorite word is NO.
And then Erik's like, giving his kids the ultimate stress. Lorna cries all the time because he yells at her when she's having a tantrum, and Wanda and Pietro are both mad at him for taking away their phones and the fact that he never sleeps so when they try to sneak out, he's sitting there in the kitchen with a glass of water and a book and is like "oh, midnight snack i see?" and they're all pissed. Oh and they ALSO get yelled at.
Anyways.
Erik's constantly feeling like an awful person whose kids hate him and who has no way of ever being loved again. Charles is really, really overwhelmed and feeling inadequate.
However, feelings of failure? while yes, they may lead to a few weeks long period of these sad gay men drowning in alcohol, they also can lead to change!
Charles starts figuring out how to enforce rules without not being his kind self. He goes to the root of the problems, too, realizing that pietro is overwhelmed and being bullied and Wanda is super anxious and feels like her boyfriend is the only person in the world who understands her (as kids often do at that age), and tries to offer them a bit more support. And lorna... well, she's a brat. But she did grow up in a house watching charles and erik yell at each other, instead of watching the relationship gradually sour like her older siblings did, so she's just learned from example that screaming? well it gets attention.
Erik starts realizing that yelling at lorna? not helping. He does some reading on tantrums and stuff and starts teaching her some breathing exercises, leading her though them when she gets overwhelmed. And, surprisingly, they start helping him too. He starts yelling less. His kids talk to him more. And as he listens to them, they, in turn, are more willing to listen to him.
Now, all of this makes charles and erik kinda go 👀 i left him? the guy doing breathing exercises with our six year old? the guy watching old 90's movies with wanda and pietro?
And. Well. One thing leads to another. AKA several long months of flirting, parties thrown by their friends that they both attend and then drunkenly continue the flirting at, more flirting, and the eventual realization that damn, they've missed each other.
Because they fell in love for a reason. It wasn't just charles's smile Erik fell for, it was the way he went out of his way to be kind to everyone, to understand their worldview. It wasn't just Erik's handsome face that Charles fell for, it was his devotion, devotion to his work, to his friends, his family, to Charles.
So eventually, they're getting married again. Everyone in their life is rolling their eyes about how dramatic they are. Their kids can't tell if they're mad or happy.
They start going to couples therapy, too. And individual therapy. It's not an end-all-be-all fix for their problems, but hey. they've learned a lot.
And one of the things they've learned is that they are clearly meant to be.

Magneto's very specific revenge
After Mags is resurrected by Eric the Red (long story,) he is fuming about the X-Men and has plans for them. They're busy being overpowered by Mesmero, however, so he tracks them down.
Tumblr media
Swole Magneto
Mags strolls in and defeats Mesmero off panel, because he's a chump and Magneto is not. He wipes the floor with the X-Men, including full power Phoenix, then laughs maniacally. Classic Mags. Notably, he looks far more physically capable and intimidating than he has before. He's ripped, he's confident, and in seconds he solo'd a foe the entire team was struggling with. Silver Age Magneto was cowardly and relied on abused lackeys to carry out his schemes, often fleeing as soon as he was in danger. That guy is gone and in his place is an antagonist who's brave, extremely intelligent, capable, and a almost insurmountable threat. He's still fantastically dramatic, but his histrionics owe more to Shakespeare than Snidely Whiplash.
Tumblr media
Turns out he's really not happy about Chuck and Moira's baby tampering, nor his previous defeats at the X-Men's hands (or the Alpha thing backfiring.) He takes them all to one of his volcano bases, restrains and depowers them. He Then Magneto explains the specific revenge he has in mind for the perennial thorn in his side that is the X-Men. It's complicated and cruel but utterly terrifying.
Tumblr media
They're to remain without powers, restrained and regressed to the physicality of 6 month olds. He constructed a saccharine-sweet Nanny robot to be their carer and their jailer. 'An eye for an eye' he ominously decrees. I kinda wish he did this to Chuck instead, but he's off banging the bird queen in Greece.
His immediate thirst for vengeance quenched, Mags leaves them to it and flies into space - to the nearly complete base known as Asteroid M. Where old Magneto hung out in a depressing lair with his terrified underlings, this Magneto has the power to reach space without technology, and the skills/resources to establish an asteroid base - a throne above the Earth.
Tumblr media
Making the robot look like Moira is so funny
The X-Men are utterly in his power, with a creepy robot assigned to keep them alive and miserable. They fucking hate it, understandably. Unable to move, completely dependent on this awful automaton for their basic needs. Wolverine starts to crack. Cyclops maybe likes it a little - I don't see anyone else getting a bath and massage.
Tumblr media
The extent of Wolverine's pain is visceral and existetially horrifying - he gets desperate quite quickly, his usual bravado shattered. Banshee and Nightcrawler seem to be doing a bit better, but Logan is not used to being helpless (plus his years of medical trauma haunt him.)
Tumblr media
Days pass, and Ororo has a plan to escape this hell. Drawing on her upbringing as a thief (and the dubious claim of having the physicality of a child at 6 months old,) she finally gets her lockpicks out of her hair and attempts the near impossible.
Tumblr media
After a short flashback to Achmed and the Houdini tests he put Ororo through, there's a brief hope spot where it looks like she'll succeed. Unfortunately Nanny returns, notices, and Storm is undone. She does not take it well. Of course, this is particularly sadistic torture, so who would?
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, on Asteroid M, Mags thinks about how much of a rich genius he is (and to be fair his accomplishments are impressive, especially for a once-broke self taught evil scientist.) Magneto's interest in learning, especially science, is highlighted. His thoughts also drift to his beloved Magda, his former wife and mother to Pietro, Wanda, and Anya. He's not doing great, and torturing the X-Men isn't making him as happy as he expected. Despite his shitty actions, the seeds of Well-intentioned extremist with pathos Magneto are being sown.
Tumblr media
Mags notices some aberrant readings on one of his many machines, and thinks that Nanny should have sorted that out. Better safe than sorry. The escaped X-Men unleash on him but while they're doing better than last time, the best they can achieve is forcing a stalemate of sorts but Magneto takes their best again and does not fall.
Tumblr media
Continuing the theme of Phoenix power being a double edged sword, she inadvertently destroys a control panel during the fight. As everyone knows, a destroyed control panel is the Achilles Heel of any evil base and it starts crumbling/blowing up. Magneto manages to escape in the nick of time and learns the value of redundancy in data storage. After a dramatic speech he bounces to do more Magneto shit, figuring on balance he came out ahead. His volcano base and the data/gadgets within are no more, but so are the X-Men. Nobody remains to foil his plans, or do they?
Obviously they survived, but they're split up for nearly a year. Cyclops and Marvel Girl each think the other is dead, a dynamic that powered so much of the drama all the way to the Dark Phoenix saga. Magneto is back, better than ever, and he's here to stay. His actions will change how the entire world behaves while he starts a journey of his own. I believe this is the first time we see him shirtless too, setting up that he's attractive and loves being naked.

I was on a seventeen hour flight recently and binged a large chunk of the x-men movies, and man, I forgot how much of a mess they were:
WHO decided beast and mystique should be a thing??? I think the relationship is kinda cute but very random
the rogue/bobby/kitty love triangle is soooo stupid. I know bobby wasn’t officially gay in the 2000s but it’s very funny seeing the love triangle now, especially when he and pyro had chemistry. much more chemistry than rogue/bobby and kitty/bobby.
STORM WAS DONE DIRTY. whoever put that wig on halle berry should be fired
honestly everyone except magneto, professor x, and wolverine were done dirty
logan/jean is a flop relationship. three movies and idk why logan even likes jean besides the fact that she’s hot💀
jean/scott was boring in both sets of movies
tbh all the relationships in the movies are dumb asf except cherik
I forgot how bad scott’s death in the last stand was
I still don’t understand how charles came back to life at the end of the last stand but I’m not going to question it
im not even going to attempt to understand the timeline
alex summers getting more screen time than scott doesn’t sit right with me
I don’t like quicksilver in the x-men movies. that is NOT pietro. xmcu’s quicksilver is basically tommy shepherd, not pietro maximoff. also, I didn’t like that his name was changed to ‘peter’ maximoff
but even tho I’m not a fan of xmcu’s quicksilver, i’m so upset that we never got a dad reveal
pietro never should’ve been included in the movies because I don’t think you can include him without wanda. lorna should’ve taken his place in the movies instead since she’s actually an xmen unlike scarlet witch & quicksilver, and she and magneto have a decent relationship
I have so many feelings about magda eisenhardt and to include her for five mins and then kill her off with nina (idk why they didn’t name her anya) made me sad. like magda eisenhardt is an extremely strong woman who was sent to a concentration camp for being romani and she and magneto did their best to survive there so I think she deserves more respect
mystique/magneto is a horrible relationship, I hate it as much as I dislike magneto/rogue
speaking of rogue, I think anna paquin did the best she could with what she had but it’s kinda painful seeing rogue in the movies when she’s one of my fav xmen characters
idk why there are two emma frosts and angels
still love the movies though ❤️

I am very curious to know what procedures Gillian has done because her face looks great for a nearly 60 year old woman. She has her wrinkles but not in a necessarily distracting and aging way. I wonder if part of her "glow" is just her personality of wanting to enjoy the moment.
It's also interesting how she looks better and more refreshed than the 31 year old Who looks older than her age. I think this is because the ex-smoothie girl is probably more sun damaged which probably adds years to someone's looks. She is also masculine looking, so that may have something to do with it, but it's probably the sun damage. Looking at smoothie girl to Gillian at the same age, smoothie talent one looks older. I have seen dermatologist skin images of what sun damage does to the skin, so I am thinking that is why the younger one is not aging smoothly. I thought that Gillian in her youth liked the CA sun a lot too, but I could be wrong. Or she has had the same discreet face-lift that Lindsey Logan and Kris Jenner have had.
Remember Magda from "There's Something About Mary"? Smoothie pimp girl is on her way to that destination. Groomer has toasted his skin quite good so they are compatible in that regard. I know of her age because a couple of blogs remind the readers of the gross age discrepancy but if I had not known her age, she could pass off as 40 years old.
Looking at how the gross duo of groomed and groomer have Kentucky Fried Chickened their skin encourages me to stay out of the sun. Always wear a really good sunscreen maybe a good ol" 50 SPF or so, and wear a hat or some covering as to not age in dog years.
I don't think Gillian had a facelift because she would have looked much younger. I think Gillian will have a facelift in the future, but a little later. And, of course, she's working on her face, but it wasn't so drastic as to make her look like a mummy.
David's kept woman/wife will still look much younger than him, because she is 33 years younger than David😂. And then David has already paid for plastic surgeries for his sugar baby to look according to his tastes, so I have no doubt that sugar baby will go under the surgeon's knife many more times. The master's wishes are the law.

Cherik Apocalypse AU
The time can never stop me from yelling about old gay men
Smallest lil CW for like mutantphobia related violence, death, general zombie things. No gore dw
------------------
OKAY SO. Zombies in this au operate in an evolving and hivemind based infection (Not Fungus). HOWEVER the infection originated with a mutant ability in the world that got out of hand. So in the few remaining survivors, mutants are getting killed on sight or thrown out of survivor camps.
So. The Cast of this au in my head.
Charles (30). Getting his PhD in Genetics when the infection broke out. Currently traveling with Raven and trying to find mutant survivors. (BTW he can walk, No Erik = No Bullet)
Erik (33). Okay idrk what he was doing b4 the infection. Probably working mutant liberation. However! After infection he went through a lot to get his kids (Wanda and Peter). In this he discovers that Wanda is imune to the infection.
Raven (27). Living with Charles and working as a model before in infection in this AU. Now just wants to find and help as many mutants as possible.
Wanda (11). Preteen girl who lived w/ Magda before the infection came and Erik saved her. Imune to the virus. Wants to get the the research centers down south.
Peter (11). Preteen boy same as Wanda. He is theoretically immune to the infection, being twins and all, except they dont know what exactly makes Wanda immune and they aren't keen on testing it. He is frustrated with everything and wants normal back.
Alex (21) Fresh out of jail, fun side effect of a zombie apocalypse is all the prison guards go home. Immediately got Scott and set out. Trying to keep himself and his brother safe.
Scott (14) Happy to have his big brother back! Confused but going with it. Quite the trooper, probably the most well behaved of the kids but also the oldest so yeah.
Logan (???). Girl it's wolverine this is only the third weirdest thing to happen to him. However, he actually cares about living right now because he's somehow managed caring for Jubilee and Kitty. He wants to get them safe, so he's headed south and just hoping.
Kurt (24). Logan's traveling buddy. Was still working in circuses before the infection. Instantly agreed to pack a bag and get moving when first word broke. Now helping in their task to get the girls safe.
Jubilee (5) and Kitty (7). Lumping them together so this post isnt so insane. These two kids were cast out of a survivors group for being mutant and picked up by Logan.
Jean (15). Traveling Alone. PLOT TWIST: Mutant expirimentation on her caused her to freak out and alter someones brain to badly that (mixed with some fucked up biochemistry) created the zombie virus. She's desperately trying to find someone who will help her fix this but is worried that telling anyone will get her killed.
Thats Main Gang TM in my mind. The ones doing all the traveling and eventually crossing paths. Some other group
The Southern Research Facility. Moira and Hank + random scientists. Not important til like the end of all this with the dramas and all that.
First Class. Angel, Darwin and Sean + Other mutants. A small traveling group making camp somwhere around like, Kansas ish. Act as the converging point for the groups as they are a known mutant friendly outpost that is small but open to trade and help.
The Brotherhood. Emma, Azazel, and Toad among others. A group that is Pro Infection and thinks that it will kill all humans so mutants can reign supreme. AFTER the child they hear is a cure.
Okay now for what actually happens. RQ. Alex+Scott originate from like Michigan or Wisconsin. Charles and Raven from New York. Erik and Co. from Washington and Logan and Co. from Canada.
Charles and Raven pretty quickly pick up Alex and Scott when everything starts going down and they become a merry little band that will also pick up Jean. their journey includes a lot more encounters with outside forces and struggles with other survivor groups.
Logan and Kurt stumble into Erik near the begining too and after a quick fight they reluctantly agree to work together. Their journey is dealing with other survivors but also a lot of wrangling four children who are not even teenagers yet.
They converge in Kansas! Meeting up with FC who give them directions to the research base. This is the actual start of Cherik (making yall wait for it IK). Alex and Scott stay with FC but Scott makes Jean promise to come back. The journey there together is mostly personal conflicts and the whole 'Jean caused the Apocalypse btw + we are being actively hunted by a teleporter and a mind reader' thing.
During the traveling they deal with a rly bad swarm and Raven sacrafices herself for them to get out of it. Depression arc! Much hurt/comfort here. Big Cherik leaps made.
When they Get to the facility they are like 'oh yeah Wanda would be super helpful can we cut her skull open?' and Erik gets reasonably angry.
No fear, PETER IS HERE. As a twin he has the same DNA mostly besides mutation. (They arent identical but work w/ me here). He agrees to let the doctors look at him without Erik knowing. Erik gets reasonably angry. Peter ends up not providing anything helpful but they are able to look at his DNA WITHOUT cutting anyone open and find the dyscrepency between the not-exactly identical twins
This is how we discover that the thing that makes them both immune is a genetic glitch carried by the X gene Wanda posesses. Through the amazing world of BioTech they are able to make a serum that will alter peoples genetics to contain the glitch.
Woohoo! Right? EXCEPT the Brotherhood is still totally after Wanda and Jean by this point so they've gotta start schmoving again.
Logan, Kurt and their girls stay back at the research center, not wanting the children to be in more danger. The remainder of the group starts trecking back towards FC when they are intercepted by the brotherhood. Confrontation, Fighting, and Charles getting REALLY MAD happens and the gays come out on top. Cherik love CONFIRMED. The story ending with them walking off into the sunset together, the kids running ahead as FC comes back into view.
UH YEAH! I know the science is actual BS but so it mutants in general so shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. For this just note that Kurt and Raven are #NOTRELATED cuz I ain't justifying their ages.
This would be so fun to write but I'd want it to be so detailed so it'd take FOREVER. Want the dynamics of everyone to be fleshed out. Cherik being THEM. Kurt and Logan being lovers who have stood the test of A LOT leading up to this. Alex being a protective older sibling. Jeans panic, Wanda and Peters closeness and fear of the world, and the girls being patches of joy in a bleak world. not even gonna get into characterization and stuff this is long enough.
I rly hope I explained this half decently. I wrote it at 1 am! Hope you like mayhaps. Maybe I'll write this if enough people are interested. Wanna hear more? Maybe later its bed time
UPDATE: Uh there’s more about this more check it out here👍 and even more here
UPDATE 2: THE FIC IS OUT!!

need some big opinions for a cherik abo fic.
who would you recommend for an alpha that is charles’ love interest before erik that is not abundantly loved by the audience but isn’t like the worst person ever? originally thought shaw but think I’d have to write him a little ooc. and if shaw, could you ever be sympathetic towards him?
in the same vein. who would you recommend for an omega that is erik’s love interest before charles that can be loved by the audience? originally thought magda, but I kinda wanted to make erik only attracted to men.
characters that are out of the equation to use - alex, logan, emma, azazel, and raven. using them for other reasons. unless you can persuade me that one of those five should be used as one of cherik’s other love interests.
thank you for any feedback, love you all.

Day 1- Telepathic bond / Reincarnation.
Vault of Ideas. ←Context
Telepathic Bond
Tumblr media
Idea #1
Charles was a hermit. Since discovering he was a telepath, he decided he didn't want to deal with the minds of others, so on his thirteenth birthday he took some of his belongings and fled the Xavier mansion.
Charles went more than 10 years without coming into contact with a single person, however, that changed the night a badly wounded man arrived outside his makeshift cabin. Echoes of grief, loss and something unknown made him approach the stranger. In an unpredictable moment, his mind latched onto the man in front of him.
Who is he? Why is he hurt? And most importantly, why does he feel a particular closeness to him?
Idea #2
After settling down with Magda in Poland, Erik begins to notice strange things happening in his new home. Wailing, objects crawling or moving out of place, even shadows running through the hallways. On his side, Charles has been having strange nightmares in which he can see and talk to Erik, but he ignores him and even runs away from him.
As Charles' nightmares and the phenomena occur more frequently, they both begin to suspect that the cause is none other than that telepathic bond they never managed to break.
Idea #3
After Erik put on the helmet, both Charles and himself believed that their telepathic bond had been permanently severed.Years later, while Erik was at the Pentagon, he began to hear whispers that became increasingly frequent. He thought they were hallucinations out of loneliness, until he heard Charles urgently asking for help.
Reincarnation.
Tumblr media
Idea #1
In a world where the souls of the departed are reborn like flowers in a garden, Charles is the last of the guardians, the last of the “gardeners” who is able to communicate with them.
However, there is one flower that remains silent: a black rose growing in the heart of the garden.
When Erik, a warrior scarred by grief, arrives looking for the soul of his dead son, he accidentally touches the black rose and... it reacts for the first time, entangling itself in his fingers as if it recognized him. The rose is the soul of Charles' first life, whom in an act of love in a past war, sealed his own soul in the garden to save Erik. But now, if Erik plucks it to retrieve his memories, Charles will die in this life.
Idea #2
After Charles' death at the hands of that fake Logan, the only thing he feels around him is emptiness. Suddenly, that emptiness is filled with mixed memories between him and another man. Despite remembering his face, he cannot pronounce his name.
Charles closed his eyes and when he opened them again, he found himself screaming for his parents, who were being separated from him in Auschwitz.
Upon his death, Erik Lehnsherr floated aimlessly in the void. A presence appeared, creating turmoil in his lethargic state. When he awoke, he was a lonely child, hearing a thousand voices in his head. His parents were not home and he knew there was an intruder in his kitchen.
“Would you be scared if you could feel my pain? If you could feel the things I'm able to feel?”
Idea #3
When we die, the gates of heaven open for us and after waiting in a line with old and new souls, the angels give us a kind of injection, which helps us forget our past life and be reborn in a new body.
However, the angel who attended Charles forgot to give him that formula.
Now, reborn and worried, he has to look for Erik, who was completely devastated after the sudden death of his husband.

A Very-Long Untangling Analysis of the Fox X-Men Continuity
Here’s my attempt at making sense of it all. All of my thoughts and ideas about continuity discrepancies and time travel piled up in one big info dump.
Please bear in mind that this interpretation is heavily biased in favor of the Days of Future Past Rogue Cut and against Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, which hopefully won’t cause too much upset.
It also mentions Cherik as if it’s official canon because duh.
It also will cite links to various other posts I’ve made in the past which support my claims.
It also is gonna get long. Very long. Very very very very long. So proceed at your own risk.
So here’s my thesis:
The series depicts 8 separate timelines within 3 different universes.

Now I will elaborate.
TIMELINES VS UNIVERSES
First off, “timelines” and “universes” are confusing terms in Marvel. Some say they’re the same thing, others say they’re separate things. But I believe the ultimate answer to this question can be found in What If…? Season 1 Episode 4, in which the Ancient One creates a split that forms two timelines (and thus two variants of Dr. Strange) in one universe. Since this is canonically possible, I think it explains many of the X-Men series’ discrepancies.
THEY CANNOT ALL BE IN 1 UNIVERSE
Secondly, I’m sorry to Deadpool & Wolverine, but there is absolutely no way that every film in the Fox series takes place in the same universe. There are way too many inconsistencies for that to be possible. I know such a notion takes away a bit from the impact of Wade and Logan’s efforts to save that universe, and Logan replacing the anchor being, but still. It just doesn’t add up. The film’s events are direct follow-ups to DP 1 and 2, and to Logan. Wade’s universe is dying because of Logan’s death in Logan. OK, so those 4 films happen in the same universe for sure. But none of the other films do.
DIFFERENT TIME TRAVEL RULES
One major reason there are multiple universes at play here is that the series depicts two different kinds of time travel that have two different repercussions:
Kitty Pryde’s consciousness projection, which rewrites history
Cable’s device, which causes timeline branching and universe-hopping (just like MCU quantum time travel)
So Logan’s time travel in DOFP overwrote/erased his original timeline (the events of Origins, the OG trilogy, and The Wolverine) … whereas Cable’s time travel in DP 2 split his universe into multiple timelines. (This is proven by the fact that even though Wade lives in a timeline where Vanessa is alive in DP&W, the universe is still dying because of the events of Logan. So none of Cable’s time traveling in DP 2 overwrote/erased Logan.)
These are two different rules of time travel, which makes it all the more likely that they happen in different universes.
Therefore, any universe in which Logan time-traveled to stop the Sentinels is NOT the same universe as the DP/Logan universe.
OTHER CONTINUITY ISSUES
Wade is in his 30s in Origins, which is set in 1979 … and Wade is in his 30s in the DP films, which is set in the 2010s.
Warren Worthington III is 12 years old in 1996 at the beginning of The Last Stand and a young adult during the main events in the 2000s … and he is a young adult in 1983 in Apocalypse.
Colossus has an American accent in the OG trilogy and a Russian accent in the DP films.
Mutant children are seen thriving in 2023 at the end of DOFP, whereas in the world of Logan, mutants stopped being born in 2004.
Which brings me to one of my most major arguments here:
THE CONSEQUENCES OF LOGAN’S TIME TRAVEL
Logan’s time-travel in DOFP only changed history starting in 1973; everything that came before 1973 stayed exactly the same in that universe. So we cannot possibly say that DOFP caused Wade to be born decades later or Warren to be born decades earlier in its new timeline. That is impossible.
Also, the children at the end of DOFP are irrefutable proof that Logan did not wake up in a world where mutants have been dying out since 2004 and where he and Charles are destined to be killed by X-24. That is impossible.
Therefore, neither Apocalypse nor the DP films nor Logan can possibly take place in Universe 1 (the same universe as the OG trilogy or Origins).
WHAT ABOUT THE DISCREPANCIES IN FIRST CLASS?
DOFP firmly establishes that despite the continuity errors, First Class is absolutely a prequel to the OG trilogy and occurs in the same universe. In this post, I lay out in detail how the few plot holes between these films may be logically explained.
THE X-MEN’S CAMEO IN DEADPOOL 2
All I can say is this is obviously a meta joke created in Wade’s head for the audience. In no possible version of events do the ages of the X-Men in their brief cameo in this movie make any sense.
UNIVERSE 1 vs. UNIVERSE 2
Ok, so now we’ve firmly established that:
Universe 1 consists only of FC, Origins, the OG trilogy, Wolverine, and DOFP. Its history is fully rewritten starting in 1973, so in both versions of history, Wade Wilson is always born in the 1940s and thus in his 30s in 1979 … and Warren Worthington III is always born in the 1980s and thus a child in the 90s and adult in the 2000s. Colossus emigrates from Russia to the U.S. at an early age and grows up with an American accent.
Universe 2 consists only of DP 1, DP 2, Logan, and DP&W. There was no time-travel in this world, and yet no Sentinels were created. Instead, Transigen put mutation-killing poisoning in food, which drove mutants to near-extinction by 2029. This makes 14-year-old Russell in DP 2 one of the last mutants to be born before the poisoning took effect. Cable’s and Wade’s time-traveling created multiple branches, but they all coexist in this universe. Wade Wilson was born in the 1970s, and thus he’s a thirty-something in the 2010s. Colossus grew up in Russia and thus maintained a Russian accent. After escaping the Void, Laura relocated from her original timeline (Timeline 3) to Timeline 6, while staying in the same universe.
THE DIFFERENT CUTS OF DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
But wait, you may say. DOFP and Apocalypse also must exist in the same universe since Apocalypse is a direct sequel to the 1973 events of DOFP. So doesn’t Apocalypse have to happen in Universe 1, as well?
Well, here’s the explanation for that:
Consider the existence of two different cuts of DOFP: the theatrical cut and the Rogue Cut.
Also consider the alternate ending filmed for DOFP, in which Logan is pulled from the river in 1973 by the real Stryker, a perfect lead-in to him being Weapon X in Apocalypse … whereas the actual DOFP ending shows Raven rescuing him that day, which changed his fate and kept him out of Stryker’s hands.
If you go beyond the meta and think about the multiverse, it becomes extremely plausible to assume that there was more than one universe in which Logan time-traveled via Kitty to stop the Sentinels.
In one of these universes (which I’ve labeled Universe 1 out of my preference for the Rogue Cut), within the dark future, Kitty’s wounds forced Erik, Charles, and Bobby to rescue Rogue to replace her, Bobby was killed, the mansion was blown up, Rogue took over Kitty’s job, and Kitty pulled Erik through the wall back into the temple when the Sentinels attacked him. Meanwhile in the past, Raven chose to stop by the mansion, steal a moment with Hank, and break Cerebro on her way to DC. After DC, she went undercover as Stryker, rescued Logan from the river, and most likely sent him to safety at the mansion with Charles and Hank.
In the other universe (which I’ve labeled Universe 3), Kitty kept Logan in the past through to the end, Bobby stayed and died in the temple, and Blink sent Erik back into the temple with a portal. Meanwhile in the past, Raven flew directly from Paris to DC and Charles used Cerebro to deduce her destination. After DC, Raven went her own way, and Stryker himself pulled Logan from the river and turned him into Weapon X.
APOCALYPSE AND DARK PHOENIX AS MERE BAD DREAMS
Now you’ll also notice I wrote the word “dream” next to Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix in my outline of Universe 3. And here’s where the bias comes in. Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix make so little sense that, as I also mentioned in this post, I declare they are no more than bad dreams in Erik’s and Charles’ heads at some point after 1973 in Universe 3.
Dark Phoenix in particular, just unfolds like a dream. None of the characters’ actions make any logical sense based on what we know about them. It all just feels like Charles’ worst nightmare of being suddenly abandoned and betrayed by everyone he loves, via either death or rejection … because IT IS.
Apocalypse is more complicated. It’s not as bad as Dark Phoenix but it’s also pretty darn stupid in many ways.
I laid out in great detail in this post why Erik’s family plotline makes zero sense for his character, Cherik or no Cherik. This is why I wrote that in Universe 1, Erik “remains true to himself in the aftermath of DOFP.” This fic and this fic and this fic (none of which are mine) are examples of in-character behavior for Erik which I imagine resemble his post-DOFP actions in that reality.
I also feel it doesn’t make any sense that Peter isn’t already a student at the school in 1983. There’s literally no reason why Charles wouldn’t have sought him out as his first student when he reopened the school in 1973, after the events of DOFP. It’s totally implausible that it would take 10 years for Peter to get involved with the X-Men again.
The abomination that is the fridging of Magda and Nina speaks for itself.
The abomination that is Peter not telling Erik they’re related at the most opportune moment also speaks for itself.
So this movie might be entirely a dream as well; I’d be fine with that.
APOCALYPSE AS PARTIALLY A DREAM
However, I included Apocalypse in Universe 3 as possibly “part dream” for a few reasons.
Despite the film’s stupidity, I expressed in this post the missed opportunity that is Erik’s young zoolingual daughter Nina Górska. And in this post and this post, I expressed my fondness for a version of events where Nina survived and grew up thriving at the school with her siblings. Nina’s very existence stems from Erik behaving totally OOC after DOFP … and yet I can’t help but love her as her own character. If the writers were gonna make Erik behave in an OOC way for her to exist, then they should’ve gone all the way in letting her actually be a damn character.
I also expressed in this post how Erik settling down with someone who isn’t Charles makes very little sense if they got together during First Class. It could be somewhat more plausible if this is a version of events where they did NOT get together then.
I also mentioned in this post the inconsistency of Moira’s memories at the end of First Class and in Apocalypse. This could only be fixed by there being two different versions of events: one where Charles only erased some of her memories, and one where he erased all of them.
Which is why I labeled Universe 3 as containing “First Class (Charles & Erik remain just friends; Moira recalls nothing)” and “Erik betrays his values and settles down with Magda.”
It also could be that in Universe 3, the deleted scenes between Charles and Moira in First Class canonically happened, thus explaining his fixation on her in Apocalypse. In 1962, Charles & Erik remained on a river in Egypt, and Charles was with Moira. Thus in the 1970s, Erik finds himself capable of settling down with a random woman (even though my other reasons for this making no sense still stand, but for the sake of allowing for a world where Nina lives, I’ll let it go just for that).
NINA’S “DEATH”
Therefore, it’s somewhat possible that in Universe 3, the first third of Apocalypse is real, leading up to the moment Erik agrees to surrender himself to the Polish police.
From Nina’s death onward, the rest of the film is a nightmare of Erik’s, in which his mind envisions that he lost his beloved daughter that day and then was coerced by En Sabah Nur into becoming a mass murderer and hurting Charles and he never learned the truth about Peter.
If you think about it, Nina’s death scene in the film actually plays out like a nightmare would. Notice how even though she’s crying and screaming for her dad, she doesn’t move. She doesn’t struggle to pull away from her mom and run toward her dad. When her mom kneels in front of her, she doesn’t resist. No 8-year-old kid would be standing totally still in this situation, without flinching. Also Erik doesn’t make any more efforts to comfort her as she’s crying. He just silently stares at her, watching her scream, then silently stares at the attacking birds. Nor does Magda do anything effective; her words translate to “stop, Nina, stop!” No “we’ll be ok,” “he’s not gonna get hurt,” nothing that would actually calm Nina down. Then of course, the arrow hitting TWO people when the dude ISN’T EVEN LOOKING defies all logic and all reality. The whole thing only makes sense as Erik’s nightmare. We’ve all had those bad dreams where we want to move but we can’t, we’re frozen and unable to do what we want to do as something scary is coming at us. That’s exactly how Erik, Magda, and Nina all behave in this scene.
In reality, when Erik gave himself up in Universe 3, basically, the events of this fic unfolded. This isn’t my own fic, all credit belongs to its author WaxRhapsodic, but it is so unbelievably great that I declare it’s what really happened in this world.
To summarize, Nina was injured but not killed by the arrow that killed Magda, then Erik & Nina moved to the mansion, where Nina bonded closely with Charles and Peter, Wanda and Lorna joined the school, and Erik & Charles finally got together.
THE OG TRILOGY AND LOGAN
Lastly, you may notice I also put “events similar to the OG trilogy” in my outline of Universe 2. Why did I do this?
There are many hints in Logan that something similar to the OG trilogy happened in that world.
Charles references the Statue of Liberty incident from X-Men 1, which never happened in a world where Logan time-traveled.
In a deleted scene, Charles claims Logan was married to Jean before he killed her. This could be true or it could be Charles’ confusion in his dementia.
Jean’s absence from the story is glaring: considering her power level, it is quite unlikely that Charles could’ve killed her in the Westchester Incident.
Thus, in this world, the events of the OG trilogy including The Last Stand must have happened. But instead of Sentinels, humans weaponized the anti-mutant food poisoning to wipe out mutants once the cure proved to be a failure. So by the time of the Westchester Incident, Jean was already dead.
This explains Charles’ condition in Logan. His disease is not the result of mere old age. It is a result of 3 things:
The impact of the food poisoning on his mutation as well as his overall health.
His mind struggling to remain in harmony with his twin brother’s body which he inhabited in the post-credits scene of The Last Stand after the Phoenix destroyed his original body. (In Universe 1, the Sentinel apocalypse unfolded before the negative longterm side effects of his consciousness transference could take hold.)
Erik’s absence, which can only be explained by his death prior to the film’s events. In this post and this post, I theorize in more depth that his sudden death was the final straw for Charles’ mental health that triggered the Westchester Incident.

Marvel/X-men high school au
So, I've had this idea for a while, and Deadpool & Wolverine reminded me that I had this idea, which I have been nervous to share. It's a Cherik no powers crossover
It starts with the aftermath of the a car crash which resulted death of Erik's wife Magda and their youngest, Nina. (As an aside, Pietro and Wanda are also their kids, and Peter is Erik's from a previous relationship, either a marriage or college one-night stand that ended in pregnancy). A couple months or maybe a year after their deaths, Wanda and Pietro get accepted into the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters (which is a stem school in this universe) and Peter accepts a student-teaching (where a college student shadows a teacher) position there as well because he maybe feels guilt over not spending enough time with Nina when she was alive, so he accepts it so that he's able to spend time with twins. Or maybe he blames himself for her death or something.
Erik experience trepidation over sending, as he and Charles have a history. They dated in high school, then one day Charles left, leaving nothing, not even a note. So, when they meet during the welcome new parents and students meeting, he's surprised to see Charles there, not because he wasn't expecting him, but because he's in a wheelchair. They keep running into each other, maybe with some influence from Erik's kids as well as maybe Mistique.
For Peter's part of the story, he's under the tutelage of Logan, who teaches history. He's mostly professional, but he's also a little shit. Like, with seating charts, he takes note over who he thinks has a crush on who, and sits them next to each other. Or, the fact that he notices how he wants to project how one Wade Wilson annoys him to death, but only to hide that he secretly likes his attention. Peter tries to parent trap them, along with parent trapping Erik and Charles with some help.
Wanda and Pietro's part of the story is parent trapping their dad and principal, (at least) two of their teachers, as well as some of their friends, as well as each other (or at least just Pietro to Wanda) and maybe Peter too because maybe there is another student-teacher there.
other ships could include the thruce, lokius or Theo/Loki (maybe a love triangle there, idk), ironstrange, stucky. For X-men, like maybe Jean/Scott, maybe Kurt/Warren, or anything... dealers choice really. Maybe it could be in one story, or it could be like my no homophobia au. One fanfic per storyline, or whatever.

X-MEN 97 EP 10 REVIEW
Loved this episode, as Beau said this felt healing and it didn´t dissapoint. That said I agree the series peaked on Ep 5 but for me this doesnt mean this was a bad episode at all.
Highlights for me:
Rogue beating Bastion into a pulp over Remy´s memory "remember it"
Scott and Morph being there for Logan.
Nightcrawler praying with Charles and Magneto.
Cable oppening to Jean and Scott about his childhood and their farewell.
Storm simply laughing at Phoenix appareance, just like her sister to save them all at the nick of time from the prime sentinels.
Morph making fun of Sinister
Charles remembering he is supposed to have a degree on psycology and having a therapy session with Magnus instead of leaving him in a coma, not gonna lie, this always pissed me off in the original FA, him having regrets post fact and remembering Magneto only made me feel more mad at him, so seeing him this way helped me remember why I liked his character, especially considering what has been done to him in current comics.
The first people Magneto remembers are Rogue, who is right there on Asteroid M and his children Lorna, Pietro and Wanda as well as his parents. They help him center himself in his humanity, just wish this series tackled Magda and Anya as well. Talking openly about his sense of isolation over not having an actual family and fully feeling himself part of the X-men now was great, I don´t think even in comics this has been tackled with quite the same intensity.
I personally don´t think Magneto at this point or Rogue see each other in a romantic sense, Rogue more than Magneto´s lover this season, has been more like an honest friend who could understand where he was coming from but also tell him when he was being a jerk so even if they tackle AoA, I don´t see them being end game, their relationship is more like an AU but this doesn´t mean they don´t trust or appreciate the other pov.
Just "Magneto is alive" moment.
Cyclops bad ass leadership moment in which he hoped to understand and help Bastion, supported by Storm and X-men, following the logic of the dream. Bastion reaching out to them.
Just all the cameos. Captain America, Iron Man, Peter, MJ, Cloak, Dagger, Psylocke, Omega Red to name a few, I just missed another cameo by Doctor Doom
This Ep effectively closed up previous plot points and showed what to expect of season two
Gambit will come back as death but I am almost sure this won´t last long. My guess is that Storm, Logan and Morph were selected by Apocalypse to be his current horsemen.
This kind of fun and expectative is something that has been missing for a long time in comics and I am very happy to see XM 97 feels like a fresh take of old stories.
This looks as well as if S2 is tackling different X-men teams, one in the future, another in the present and another in the past. My guess is that it was Apocalypse the one who used time manipulation to take them to different spaces in time.
That comment by Apocalypse "My children, so much death" made me remember current comics Apocalypse, so I expect him to gain new nuances in the series, just like Bastion did.

Note
Okay if we're doing this. I say make the house of m double down on Solider X lore. Because legacy and what not. Does Magda run away and Anya die? How about no. Because we said so.
Pietro the new whizzer.
Erik ecstatic that Pietro got super speed. Because invader reasons.
Wanda....Ms. America? Because idk why not.
Anya Erik's Bucky. Because why not? Fireproof armor. Because DUH
We could get Lorna in here if we go real dark for a moment
Okay this is alot, to explain in this universe bucky barnes gets thrown off the plane ad kidnapped earlier and Steve doesn't go in the ice instead he retires in the 90s to settle down and passes down the shield and title to Erik who eventually forms the "brother hood of avengers" a massive team of mutants and other superhimans who fight crime, stop gain monsters, natural disasters, and fight for superpowered rights of all mutants mutates robots cyborgs aliens demons and more
Pietro and wanda due in fact start out as whizzer and lady Liberty when there teenagers but eventually take up the names "scarlet witch and quick silver" and like everyone else on the brotherhood of avengers they where red and blue belts with star buckles
The base line up for the brother hood of avengers is Erik himself, Pietro, Wanda, Bruce, Hank Pym, Janet, Tony, Thor, Logan, and spiderman. Loki stands no chance. And the brotherhood of avengers would eventually expand to include most superheros
Bucky Barnes would still be the winter soldier but he would consider Erik his little brother and Pietro and Wanda his niece and nephew
Polaris becomes magneto in this world with her forming "E.X.O.D.U.S" a group comprised of villans from oppressed backgrounds

(Based on this post)
Different silver witch timelines:-
-Background
-Additional Information
NightSilver au:-
-In the past, Peter did have a Wanda that died due to Friends of Humanity raiding their home. Wanda had given Peter her powers, which he mostly ignored or barely used [like in the X-Men Alternate timeline movies]. After a mission gone wrong and Kurt went missing and thought dead, Peter went full Wanda and created a Hex which trapped an entire town in a sitcom called NightSilver. The universe follows mostly the same as WandaVision except instead of Darcy and Monica, the people trying to get them out are the X-Men [With Jean being the one to enter the Hex]. Agatha is still there and instead of Billy and Tommy, it's Luna and Talia Maximoff-Wagner. Wanda appears but looks like MCU Wanda while this world's Wanda looks like how Jean looked in the previous timeline. The showdown between Agatha and Peter happens but it's revealed that Kurt was alive and in Agatha's basement. Agatha had put Kurt under a spell and had cut off his connection with Charles making him seem dead. Peter finds him and lifts Agatha's spell. Later, Peter uses the Darkhold to mostly learn about his powers and he reveals his past to the others.
-Kurt was supposed to die originally but since he didn't, it caused a nexus event and thus Kurt is joins the TVA, Peter joins with Kurt mostly cause the whole Kurt dying messed him up a bit and gain him attachment issues. He gets therapy with the TVA's specially trained therapist who is actually an adult Luna Maximoff with her original powers.
-He is named Pietro but goes by Peter and is originally Sokovian like MCU version.
Headmaster Peter au:-
-Charles disappears one day leaving the school without a headmaster. Peter takes on the roles while others try to find him.
-Another timeline's Peter that works with the TVA as originally, the timeline acceptable candidates for headmaster are Erik, Hank, Raven, Ororo and Logan making him a variant.
Embodiment of time au:-
-Peter was born the original and only silver witch, who is responsible for the passage of time. He had a thing with Rio/Death for a while before Rio met Agatha. It ended with Peter becoming pregnant with Wanda due to the same magic Rio and Agatha used to have Nicholas and unlike Nicholas, Wanda was able to stay with her birth parent due to being the scarlet witch. During the events of Days of Future Past and Apocalypse, Peter was filling in for Rio while she went on the whole Witches Road with Agatha and Wanda [Wanda not Billy] but since he's not the green witch, he had to stick with the X-Men to figure out whose soul Rio said was overstaying their welcome.
-He is still Magda and Erik's son but since he can control time, he went backwards and had a whole bunch of shenanigans.
Divinations au:-
-Aside from his speed, Peter also has Divinations magic like Lilia.
-Another timeline's Peter that works for the TVA because like Lilia, he's supposed to die but doesn't and causes a nexus event.
TW:- Rape, Child death
Uncontrollable au:-
-Peter's stepfather David had raped him, resulting in him becoming pregnant with Wanda at 15. During the events of Apocalypse two years later, Wanda left her crib when the explosion happened making her directly above the fire resulting in her death. This caused Peter to be reasonably angry and upset to the point where he almost murders Erik in a fit of rage during the scene where Raven and Peter try to talk Erik out of destroying the world. They do end up killing En Sabah Nur but afterwards, Peter goes on a rampage and kills some people before Charles and Erik managed to calm him down.
-He also joins the TVA as he was never supposed to hurt Erik or go on a rampage. He's also in therapy with NightSilver au Peter as a code red patient.
