The Story of Yumei, ¿the Angel of Ligh?

In the heart of a celestial realm, where light shone eternally and the air vibrated with pure energy, lived an angel of light named Yumei. At a thousand years old, Yumei was young by the standards of her species, but her heart was as ancient as the stars. With long, straight hair of an ethereal pink and his eyes of different colors that reflected the purity of the sky, Yumei was a figure of innocence and kindness.

Despite her angelic appearance, Yumei carried a deep-seated insecurity. She was shy, caring, and empathetic, always willing to help others, though she often felt nervous and embarrassed. But her life took a dark turn when a tragic incident robbed her of nearly half of her right eye. This event not only left a physical scar but also began to consume her internal light.

The wound did not go unnoticed in her community. The angels of light, who lived and thrived on luminous energy, saw Yumei as a threat. The wound started to emit a dark energy that contrasted with the bright purity of her species. Her friends and acquaintances, fearing for their own safety and feeling uncomfortable with her presence, began to distance themselves from her. Yumei, who had always been naive and trusting, found herself alone and abandoned, marked as a "freak" in her own home.

Yumei relied on a special necklace, a luminous jewel that was not only an ornament but a vital barrier that contained the darkness within her. Without this necklace, the darkness would consume her entirely within minutes. Every night, fearing the darkness around her, Yumei used her necklace to illuminate her surroundings, seeking comfort in the remaining light.

As the years passed, Yumei learned to survive in her solitude. Sunlight and campfires provided her with the necessary energy, although the recharge was slow and always insufficient. On rare occasions, she found other angels of light willing to share a wave of light, restoring some of her vitality. But the greatest challenge was avoiding the red crystals that, in her world, voraciously absorbed light, threatening to consume the little energy she had left.

Despite everything, Yumei never lost her ability to adapt. She became an expert at finding sources of light and protecting herself from the darkness. Her empathy and kindness never diminished, although the insecurity and fear of being rejected again were always present. The scar on her right eye continued to drain her energy, but the necklace she wore around her neck kept the darkness at bay, giving her hope and the necessary strength to move forward.

The necklace was a gift from a wise old man in her world (the only one who treated her well), he knew that Yumei was now a source of darkness after the incident in her eye, fearing that that same darkness would drain Yumei's little light, with the help of a master craftsman he creates Yumei's necklace from a stone that gives him light.

Hazel's backstory was a long story.. She will always wonder why that flame kept whispering to her and why was it wanting her? She forgets some of those moments, how did she manage to get her pink mark thing. She always wondered, how did she be able to fought that fire?

Yei Yumei:

Uh....is Shy, Caring, Empathetic, Naive, Insecure, Innocent, Nervous, Easily embarrassed.

Yumei is an Angel of Light, born in a world where light is life itself. Despite her gentle nature, she was tragically wounded by a red crystal, losing nearly half of her right eye. This injury didn't just scar her physically but also cursed her with a dark energy that her people feared. Isolated and abandoned by her friends and community, Yumei now lives in fear of the darkness within her. Her only salvation is a magical collar, gifted to her by a wise elder. This collar not only provides her with light to keep the darkness at bay but also grants her the strength to continue her journey. Without it, Yumei's light would slowly be consumed by the darkness, threatening her very existence.

Abilities: 1. Light Energy Absorption: - Absorbs sunlight, firelight, or other light sources to recharge her energy. - Can absorb the life energy of living beings, though she avoids doing this. 2. Light Wave Creation: - Can create a wave of light or sound to repel enemies and recharge her energy. 3. Adaptability: - Capable of adapting to various environments, though she is weak in darkness.

Weaknesses: - Without her collar, Yumei's dark energy will consume her light. - Vulnerable to red crystals, which drain her energy. - Suffers from abandonment issues and is deeply afraid of being left alone.

Relationship with Azure Lion: Yumei travels with Azure Lion, slowly building a deep connection with him. Though their relationship started off awkwardly due to her shyness and fear of abandonment, over time they became close friends and eventually something more.

Chapter 2: The Ambush in the Forest

The sun was just beginning to peek through the trees as Yumei and Azure Lion resumed their path. The cool morning air caressed their faces as they made their way along a narrow path that wound through the thick forest. Yumei, as always, stayed close to Azure Lion, her shy gaze scanning the surroundings with a mix of curiosity and caution.

Yumei: Where are we going this time? – Yumei asked in a soft, unsure but interested voice –.

Azure Lion, with his majestic and confident bearing, answered without hesitation.

Azure: There is a small village to the east of here. It is said to be under the protection of an ancient mystical creature… but lately, the villagers have been restless. Something is disturbing the peace, and I want to investigate.

Yumei nodded silently, though a part of her feared what they might find. But as always, she trusted Azure Lion completely. Ever since she had met him, she had felt an inexplicable connection, a feeling that as long as she was with him, everything would be fine.

However, that peace was abruptly shattered when, out of nowhere, an arrow whistled through the air, grazing Azure Lion’s cheek before embedding itself in the tree beside him.

Azure: Ambush! – Azure Lion shouted, immediately going on guard –.

Yumei stepped back in fear, her eyes widening in surprise. Her natural instinct told her to run, to hide, but something inside her stopped her. This time it wasn’t just her life that was in danger; Azure was in the line of fire as well.

From the shadows of the trees, two figures quickly emerged. Kisho, a lithe man with a mischievous smile on his face, appeared first, swinging a light sword with skill. Kichiro, his older brother and leader of the duo, followed him, more imposing and serious, carrying a bow with an arrow ready to be fired.

Kisho: Well, well, well! –Kisho exclaimed with a satisfied smile – We have found that Yumei. Finally, our boss will be proud.

Kichiro, however, kept his gaze fixed on Azure Lion.

Kichiro: It won’t be that easy, Kisho. Azure Lion is with her. This is going to be… complicated.

Kisho grimaced and scratched his head.

Kisho: True. That lion is not someone you want to fight. But what do we do now? We can't go back empty-handed!

Azure Lion watched the two hunters with a mix of calm and determination.

Azure: If they think they can take Yumei without a fight, they're sorely mistaken – he said, his voice booming like distant thunder –.

Yumei, though frightened, stepped forward, knowing she couldn't let Azure Lion fight for her alone. With a deep breath, she began to focus on her inner light, trying to gather enough energy to help. However, the wound on her right eye began to throb, reminding her of her weakness.

Yumei: I-I won't let them catch me! – she shouted in a shaky, but determined voice –.

Kisho raised his hands in a playful gesture of surrender.

Kisho: Hey, we don't want to hurt anyone... we're just following orders.

Kichiro, on the other hand, drew back his bow.

Kisho: It's our job. We have no choice.

The tension in the air was palpable. The sound of the wind rustling the leaves contrasted with the stillness of the confrontation. Kisho watched his older brother, waiting for a sign, while Yumei tried to suppress her fear and stand firm.

Azure Lion stepped forward, his golden mane blowing in the wind.

Azure: If it's a fight they want, then they'll have it. – he draws his sword –.

Suddenly, Kisho approached his brother and whispered.

Kisho: Do you have a plan B, Kichiro? Because if we fight him, I think we won't come out very well.

Kichiro frowned, but slowly lowered his bow.

Kichiro: You're right, we can't face Azure Lion and come out unscathed. We'll have to find another way to accomplish our mission.

With a calculating look, Kichiro took a few steps back, never taking his eyes off Azure Lion.

Yumei, however, took a step forward, her hands shaking but with resolve in her gaze.

Yumei: I...I don't want to fight. I don't want any more harm. Can't we settle this another way?

Kisho, somewhat surprised by Yumei's words, looked at his brother.

Kisho: What do you say, Kichiro?

Kichiro sighed, lowering his bow completely.

Kisho frowned, observing Azure Lion more closely.

Kisho: Yes, I know. But we can't fail, Kichiro. Not this time.

Yumei felt a knot in her stomach. She didn't want Azure Lion to fight for her, she didn't want to be the cause of any more conflict. But she knew she had no other choice. With a heavy heart, she prepared herself for what was to come.

Yumei: Please – she said quietly, but loud enough for the hunters to hear – you don't have to do this. We just want to continue on our way without any problems.

Kichiro looked at her for a moment, as if considering her words, but then shook his head.

Kichiro: I'm sorry, but our orders are clear.

Kisho raised his bow again, aiming accurately at Yumei. But before he could fire, Azure Lion lunged forward with astonishing speed, disarming him in a single move. Kisho recoiled in surprise, while Kichiro tried to attack with his daggers, only to be met with Azure Lion's overwhelming strength.

Amidst the chaos, Yumei closed her eyes and focused on the light within her. She knew she had to help, even if it was just a little. She held out her hands, and a soft but powerful wave of light emanated from her body, enveloping the area around her. The energy momentarily blinded the hunters, giving her the advantage.

Azure Lion wasted no time. With a roar that echoed throughout the forest, he knocked Kichiro down with one blow, leaving Kisho staggering backwards, unable to react. The hunters, knowing they were defeated, decided to retreat, disappearing into the thick forest.

Kichiro: This isn't over yet, we'll be back!

Yumei fell to her knees, exhausted from the effort, but with a sense of relief at seeing that they were safe, at least for now. Azure Lion approached her, offering a hand to help her stand up.

Yumei: Thank you... – Yumei murmured, feeling exhaustion take hold of her – I don't know what I would have done without you.

Azure Lion looked at her softly, with no trace of the ferocity he had shown in battle.

Azure: I will never leave you alone, Yumei – he said firmly – Remember, we are in this together.

As they walked away from the place, leaving the danger behind, Yumei felt a small spark of hope in her heart. For the first time in a long time, she didn't feel so alone in her fight against the darkness.

But she knew that this was just the beginning, and that the hunters would return. And this time, they would have to be more vigilant than ever.

The air was tense in the forest clearing, tall, twisted trees surrounding the battlefield as a gigantic creature, with multiple heads and a body covered in pitch-black scales, roared menacingly. Azure Lion, with his stance firm, stood beside Yumei, who, though nervous, projected a shield of light to protect herself from the beast's attacks.

In front of them, Kisho and Kichiro were also preparing themselves, their eyes vigilant and their stance ready to attack. For a moment, they all exchanged glances, knowing that although they were enemies, they needed to join forces to defeat the creature.

Azure: We don’t have time for our differences – Azure Lion said, his eyes fixed on the beast – If we want to get out of here alive, we need to work together.

Kisho and Kichiro nodded, albeit with some reluctance.

Kisho: Don’t let this make you think we’ll forget what we came here to do – Kisho murmured, his eyes narrowed at Yumei –.

Azure: Same here – Azure Lion replied with a wry smile before unsheathing his sword –.

The battle was fierce. The creature launched dark rays, but Kisho and Kichiro, with agile movements, dodged the attacks while landing blows with precision. Azure Lion and Yumei, meanwhile, kept up their offensive with combinations of light and destructive power. The teamwork, although unexpected, was effective.

After several intense minutes, the creature finally fell with a thunderous roar that shook the forest, its heads rolling to the ground as its body collapsed.

Azure Lion exhaled deeply, looking at the siblings with a slight nod. Yumei, her face somewhat pale but relieved, slowly lowered the shield of light.

Kichiro, wiping the sweat from his forehead, said with a smile.

Kichiro: I can't believe it, it worked.

Kisho: Yes, but don't get used to this. Next time, Azure Lion, you will be our enemy again.

Azure Lion, with a mocking smile, took a step towards Yumei.

Azure: Calm down, the truce ends here. We're leaving. – He took Yumei by the hand, who looked at him with a mix of relief and concern, before starting to walk away from the place –.

Kisho and Kichiro watched them go, their shoulders relaxing after the intense battle.

There was a brief silence between Kisho and Kichiro, who looked at each other. Suddenly, reality hit them like a rock.

Kichiro: Wait…we forgot to capture Yumei?! – Kichiro shouted, opening his eyes in shock –.

Kisho brought his hand to his forehead in a gesture of pure frustration.

Kisho: How could we have gotten so distracted?

The two looked at each other again before simultaneously performing a facepalm, the echo of their hands clashing against each other's foreheads resonating in the air, while the sound of Azure Lion's distant laughter faded into the trees.

Kisho: This is a disaster – Kisho muttered –.

Kichiro: An epic disaster – Kichiro added, looking towards the horizon where Yumei and Azure Lion were now just shadows in the distance –.

The moonlight bathed the forest in a silver glow as Yumei and Azure Lion sat by the campfire. They had been traveling together for weeks, visiting faraway lands and facing all manner of strange and mystical creatures. However, tonight was one of those rare moments of peace.

Yumei stood close to Azure Lion, her hands around his knees, staring into the crackling flames. The warmth of the fire was comforting, helping her recharge her energy after a long day of travel. Her pink hair shimmered in the firelight, and her eye glanced nervously into the shadows beyond the trees.

Azure Lion sat beside her, strong and composed as ever, but with a calmness that Yumei had learned to trust. He could sense her unease in the silence, even if she didn’t say a word.

Azure: You’re still afraid of the dark, aren’t you? – Azure Lion asked softly, his deep voice breaking the stillness of the night. He didn't mean it in a mocking tone, just as an observation –.

Yumei nodded shyly.

Yumei: No...I can't help it, she whispered. The darkness... is inside me too. I feel like if I let my guard down, it will swallow me whole.

A few moments passed in silence before Azure Lion reached into his backpack, pulling out a small skewer of Hanami Dango, his favorite sweet.

Azure: Here – he said with a slight smile – This should help.

Yumei's face lit up with a small smile. She hesitated for a moment, but then took the dango from his hand.

Yumei: You always know how to make me feel better… – she said softly –.

Azure Lion let out a deep laugh.

Azure: Well, someone has to look after you. Besides – he added with a wink – you're not such bad company.

The two remained silent a little longer, enjoying the warmth of the fire and the simplicity of the moment. For Yumei, being with Azure Lion was the first time in a long time that she felt like she belonged somewhere. Even with the darkness still lurking inside her, she felt a little less scared when he was around.

As the fire began to die down, Azure Lion stood up and stretched.

Azure: Rest, Yumei – he said as he gently patted her on the head – Tomorrow will be another long day.

Yumei nodded and smiled, feeling safe in his presence. As she laid down beside the fading campfire, she took one last look at Azure Lion before closing her eyes.

Yumei: Thank you…for everything – she whispered, more to herself than to him –.

But Azure Lion heard her. He didn’t say anything, he simply watched her as she fell asleep under the protective glow of the moonlight.

In that quiet moment, neither of them needed to say much.
