Why? oh... something about how even though sam is quite opposite to you, i think he'd work well with you, y'know? like, sure he's a whole lot more extroverted than you, but he's gentle. he's kind. he's accommodating. the type to feel you tug on his shirt when at a party and just immediately exit the conversation he's having, just to make you happy. i think he'd also be pretty perceptive when it comes to you, helping you relax when you're getting unknowingly overwhelmed. he has a list of ways to help you on his phone that he regularly checks <3 the fact that he's a big brother leads me to believe that he's used to caring for others, but he also knows when to back off when you need alone time! i also think that he'd seemingly randomly think of you, and by that i mean he'd wake you up in the morning with a surprise breakfast in bed, come home after a long day with your favourite snack, text you in the middle of the day from another room some loving words, etc etc. he does have times where he's more aloof, which i think would present in making you laugh with how silly he can be at times, but the aloof nature would also help him naturally aid your more introverted nature! the longer he's with you, the more in tune he gets to when you need a break, whether that's from himself or others. and because he's so malleable, he so easily adapts to your needs. him? well, he's easy to please in general, but i think he'd benefit from your more withdrawn as opposed to his nature. you'd teach him a lot of things, like when to back off and how to relax. he'd also appreciate the distraction that you offer him, cause i feel like he can act like an overexcited dog that doesn't know how to relax at times lmao.

i think his favourite thing to do with you would be to lay in bed together and watch funny videos on each others phones! also, he'd be rocking a crush on you pretty hard and it's be pretty obvious hehe... he's just a lovesick little pup what can i say!! he'd love to get you into new hobbies, whilst also indulging in your own... an attentive and caring partner <3!

with a sigh, sam slumps down beside you. thankful to finally rest his feet off of the hot hot sand, sinking into the otherwise soft and pleasantly warm picnic blanket spread out under him. in his hands are two half melted ice cream cones, the summer sun has been rather unrelenting to their form, and so he's quick to hand you yours as soon as he gets settled enough.

"dunno why alex doesn't park up closer to the beach, he'd get more traffic..." he mumbles to himself, eyeing up the various other patrons of the beach today. of course, there's his little brother, which means jas and penny have showed up too. elliott, understandably, lives right by the shoreline, so he regularly visits the water when it's warm enough to paddle in. something about inspiration, he wasn't quite listening when saying hi. too busy admiring your cute little outfit, god. and in the distance, he can spot willy and lewis chatting by the pier, his eyes squinting in the heat as if doing so would somehow allow him to hear their conversation better.

not that he's too interested in them. it's just that the day is long, and the sun is high. he's warm, far too much so. and so after handing you some ice cream, he takes an absentminded lick of his own.

immediate sweetness hits his tongue, an enthusiastic mm! escaping his chest as he quickly swivels around to look for your reaction next. as always, looking for you, to see if you're having just as much fun as he is. because that's all he ever wants, really.

when he sees you smile in return, the sun shining off of your face so prettily, leaving you glowing under his starry eyes, he can't help but to blush a little. heart seized in what he can only describe as first love. your happiness is his happiness, and knowing that the ice cream is a welcomes treat to help beat the heat, he indulges in his own a little more. leaning back with one hand in the meantime, letting the sun beat down on his tummy harshly; he's sweating, and he's sure you are too.

but it's nice. in spite of the heat, it's real nice just to exist next to you, sitting in silence to enjoy the surrounding nature, allowing others to provide ample viewing pleasure, but together. he loves you so, he couldn't imagine a better way to spend his time than to bask in the sun and eat ice cream with you. or, really, what he means to say is: you. that's the complete sentence, you.

because far more warm that the sunrays, is you. to him, you are the sun. shining brightly next to him, leaving him a little breathless from your beauty. golden hour suits you best, causes him to look at you with hearts in his eyes simply from the way you wear the sun so well, especially when you beam down at him upon his staring.

"what is it, sammy?"

oh... the little giggle that follows, light and airy, refreshing to the otherwise oppressive heat that beats him. he wasn't aware that he was staring, absentmindedly taking in your features as you eat some ice cream as if doing so would somehow cool him down instead of heat him up. cheeks a warm red under your scrutiny, god, he feels like such a dumb boy when he's around you. mind empty and heart racing from a simple look, blinded by his very own personal sun sitting right next to him.

"it's— it's nothin', really. jus think you're, uh, real pretty. s'all." he blurts out, stumbling over his words like some sort of preteen confessing for the first time. embarrassing, but you easily soothe his cringing with another well timed giggle.

honestly, you're distracting him simply by existing. his heart fit to burst every time you honour him with the pretty gaze, leaving him dumbly staring back in awe.

"thank you, but, sammy..." you trail off, and he follows your eyes down to where his ice cream cone hand is now covered in sticky white sweetness. melted all over, a panicked bubble of laughter crawling up his throat as he motions to clean himself up with his tongue already poking out, but you stop him.

"let me." you raise a brow at him, showing him a flash of that pretty smile before lapping up all of the sweet treat from his burning hand— you're only making him heat up even more now.

and with the way he stare down at you so blankly, almost stupidly, it's evidently clear that he'll need to rush home now. preferably with you, to take care of the rising hardness between his legs.

the pier really is the perfect place for a date, don't you think?

with the sun setting, the place is practically deserted. except for... well, a couple of lovebirds that dangle their legs over the edge of old splintered wood, the warmth from the sun soon fading from their little date, and yet still, they remain warm.

sharing body warmth, the cool water under him does very little to actually calm him down, twisting his upper body so that he leans further into you with soft touches; an arm wrapped around your shoulders, another resting gently against your lap, ever so slightly squeezing at your tummy when he can't help himself.

the day has been nice, spending time with each other in the midst of a hot summers day, and oh, you look like such a pretty picture. couldn't get you off his mind all day, even when he was right next to you. lovestruck would be an understatement, in all honesty. and even now, with his hands exploring every inch of bare skin he can reach, snaking up and down to leave you shivering into his touch—an act of worship, surely—he finds himself completely head over heels for you.

for everything. the way you positively shine under the fading sunlight, the golden glow matching your features so perfectly, alluringly. pulling him closer, coaxing him enough for his lips to press against your own without second thought and— oh. it's just so easy to melt into you, and not just because he's hot.

although, perhaps the way his pants tighten upon the surprise addition of your tongue swiping across his lower lip will show you enough. an immediate reaction to your display of affection, prompting him to pull away for just a second to catch his breath. but you make it difficult for him to do just that when you smile knowingly at him, those fluttering lashes dropping down to his crotch in a manner most improper.

Explain kiwiroll to someone who doesn't know shit about either of them (me)

BUCKLE UP

If i had a nickel each time i had to explain a ship to someone in this format LMAO anyway. This ship had been my entire personality back in 2018-2019, I was there when Roll Cake dropped and I was there when relationship charts became a thing, and what I didn't expect is what they brought along with Roll Cake and it's one of most close to canon MLM relationships Devsis have done.

Okay first off I'm gonna ramble about both of them because I'm insane abt either of these characters as much as this ship.

One thing you have to know about Kiwi is that he's a guy who spends most his time driving a bike and travelling because he's a free spirited person unbound by connections or places. More times than not he's talking about being a lone wolf, about solitude, and while he's fully okay with that, there are instances of when it seems like being alone sometimes also makes him feel lonely.

My take on it is that he was abandoned by his caretaker in youth, and to this day avoids making close connections with people, even if he's on good terms with pretty much everyone and holds no ill against anyone! He's just a nice fella.

My basis on cookies relationships hcs is heavy on their relationship charts and if I had to talk about Dino-sour I'd be doing the same, but you can see Roll Cake and Dino are the only people Kiwi trusts, and while talking about others he refers directly to them or talks about them, but with Roll Cake it's a "we".

And As I said, Kiwi is a person that doesn't do bonds. He doesn't bind himself to someone or someplace, he's a person who says that the whole world is his home. And yet with Roll Cake, it's "We are the ones blazing trails for the future Cookie generation!"

It's a cookie with no commitment in his dough committing to something, with someone.

And you can also assume he's not letting on his emotions and feelings much. "Guess I am a bit sentimental". As his whole life is around riding and maybe running.

To hummer it down look at Rockstar's words about Kiwi, and then, Kiwi has no thoughts about Rockstar whatsoever. While it could mean literally nothing I think it can be used as evidence of Kiwi being repulsed by the idea of someone attaching some sort of deep meaning into him, or his relationship with someone, to the point that he completely detaches himself from that person. You don't just say someone is your soulmate so willy-nilly LMAO (but tbh this whole thing is to this day extremely funny to me. Kiwi does not give a fuck)

And we didn't even touch a fucking bomb of an update Devsis did in form of new costumes for Both Kiwi and Roll Cake. But I'll talk about them in a sec.

Now to Roll Cake. This fucker is such a case of a character. I think he's the first victim of the stupid age discourse. HE'S NOT A CHILD. THERE'S NO DEBATE ABOUT IT. LITERALLY NONE. HE'S JUST A SHORT AND UNPLEASANT FUCKING PERSON. HE SUCKS. BUT HE'S NOT A CHILD. HE HAS A DAY JOB AND HE PAYS TAXES.

Ok so when it comes to Roll Cake there's way less text between the lines it's pretty much in your face how much he hates himself and just wants people to like him. He's angry and bitter and he acts out in a very destructive way, he's competitive and mean. He speeds on red light. He's fucking insane.

Now unlike Kiwi he has. Barely any positive interactions or realtionships with people. The only ones are Pancake, Kiwi and Butterbear Cookie.

I'm saying pancake because no way is he going to be mean to his 7 year old little brother LMAO Pancake obviously loves him.

Throws in my own lore here as a Roll Cake kinnie of 7 years when you have a little sibling and people think of them as something you're not but wish you were it fucks you up. It fucks you UP. Fairly their age difference is much bigger than mine and my singling's but its a kids game it's not that serious. Nevertheless Roll Cake doesn't take people saying Pancake is cute seriously because he knows Pancake is a little rascal, but it still gets to him. He also wants to be cute and likable and lovable.

I got a little carried away here but similarly to Kiwi, his own defining trait is his destructive tendencies. All his lines will be about it one way or another.

And to Kiwi's "WE" there's Roll Cake's "I'll make a road for you".

Roll Cake. A demolitionist. The guy with a giant hammer. The guy that breaks shit both for fun and as an outlet of his insecurities. Offers to create a road for a guy to drive along with him. Literally using his Road Roller as god intended instead of using it to break shit. Like it's in your face. It's literally in your face. They're GAY.

I don't know what to even add here Like it's right HERE.

LISTEN if this wasn't enough they had to drop matching costumes for them, Maverick of the Circuit and Menace of the Circuit.

This is such a case of like. Like the poetry is writing itself. What the fuck is wrong with them .

In my headcanon timeline, this was in the past, as I personally think relationship charts reflect the present of cookie's relationships (or at least i think it should make sense lmao), so both of them I think met back on the racing tracks, but broke up for one reason or another and made up later in life.

Let's circle back to what I said about Kiwi, his lack of commitment to people and places, it makes sense he never stayed to do racing, but also, he's the one cosistently mentioning (implying) Roll Cake. "Guess I am a bit sentimental" - as he's wearing a scarf gifted by Roll Cake, as he's reminiscing on his relationship with Roll Cake, their "endless friendship". A gift of a scarf for the win, a sign of "endless friendship". Kiwi you're down BAD this is embarrassing.

Now looking at Roll Cake, he doesn't really... he doesn't really speak of Kiwi that much, but what he is doing is being bitter as he usually does, about something that happened between them, and I assume what happened is Kiwi fucked up. I think Roll Cake's dismissal of racing also has a lot to do with his relationship crisis w Kiwi.

Also going back to his unhealthy coping mehcanisms - becoming a racer makes a lot of sense that winning will stroke his ego ("I'm not in it for the prize money"), he likes being an intimidating shithead but he's an idolized shithead.

(Shoves in this fic I wrote recently where I actually kindaaa explore the scenario a little more, cuz I could talk about this whole thing fucking forever and it's gonna go deep into headcanon territory.)

Whatever happens between them in the future ends up making them find the perfect middle in what they need and who they are as people. Kiwi ultimately isn't antisocial, he's good to people, he's nice, but he is still competitive and reckless even if he tries to abide by the rules (if they work for him - sometimes he breaks them for his own sake!).

While Roll Cake overall is not really, like, antagonistic, he's an asshole for sure, as competitive and reckless, but even with his intimidating desposition he doesn't want to hurt people, he wants attention, he wants people to Care and Like him, and we can see also in his relationship chart (Butterbear Cookie) that caring for him is enough to get on his good side.

They, like. Even it out. There's no strict binding to each other. They share interests. They share traits. Kiwi's sentimentality works out with Roll Cake's desire to be adored.

I'll make a road for you, so follow me, and we'll be blazing the path for the future Cookie generation.

Although Matt was nothing but reassuring towards her, Lily was an overthinker at her core. She knew that she shouldn’t analyse their texts when they looked absolutely normal, but Lily couldn’t help but feel insecure. She decided that she’d see how it goes the next time Matt posts and she comments, so that she could be sure that her being a bit bold on his account was definitely not a problem. It was definitely not a problem as Matt did appreciate the compliments and found it funny how Lily seemed to dramatise them – she didn’t, she meant every single word and would keep thinking that about him.

Okay so i did explain to him that the uk version was the original and his comment to that was a very simple ‘not to be a bitch to the tea people but Brian is better’ and then I told him that Charlie Hunnam aka the hot guy from Sons of Anarchy was actually in it and i wish you could see his face! I have a love hate relationship with the proposal (my brother only has like 2% love for it, the rest is hate but whatever) but the ‘my prince’ thing started a fight in the house when we watched it. Cause to me it was a cute moment but for some reason is felt a little awkward to me. I think cause the whole thing felt out of character, idk how to explain it. But my brother while having an ‘awww’ type of reaction, swears that Brian would never and that the reason for Brian’s expression afterwards is because Gale was trying not to laugh. So his hatred for the proposal is insane.

As for the B99, both of us have seen in multiple times and he put it on last Saturday because he wanted to watch some comfort shows. And then on Wednesday we were watching the Halloween II episode and when the episode ended with Holt winning the heist that’s when my brother got a text from his friend about Andre. It was the worst timing ever. So for the past few days B99 is the only thing we’ve watched.

Btw our family has this tradition where for Christmas we give each other 3 presents. 2 that are good/useful and 1 that’s something random/weird/sometimes bad. And last year he gave me 2 different photos of himself as a present and the 3rd one was a box of condoms (that was his ‘bad gift cause lesbian ha ha and photos of him are always a good gift duuh’- this was his actual explanation). This year is an in-laws year for Christmas (we alternate, my parents are still salty about 2020 being their year) so if you want to send me updates, I will welcome the distraction. I love my in-laws (and especially my niblings) but I am an only child and my parents are quiet and visiting my in-laws is 8 adults, 3 children, and one dog under one roof and no one is quiet and it is A LOT for me.

i guess a better life update is like

so i’m graduating this spring. it took me a while to get an internship + i got rejected from the first one i applied to. that was okay, though, because it was smth specific that only took One student in each department, so like 4 students total, and you had to specially apply to it. i found another internship actually working for the school itself, which i’m pleased with. it’s very close to my home, and i can get there easily. they’re very casual about dress code too, so i dyed my hair again earlier this month :3

i quit working for the nursing home like 6 months ago, after almost 6 YEARS of being employed there. it was pretty on the spot lmao. we got new management that sucked + a resident started screaming at me and i was just like. well. i’m done.

currently: unemployed! or “full-time student” according to, like, my taxes or w/e. contemplating applying to some stores in the area but not too worried about it. money isssss pretty tight rn, but luckily i was able to save a LOT over the pandemic so i’ll be okay until i graduate and have to start paying back those student loans. i would like to think i’m pretty good at budgeting and money management, luckily.

ummm wedding is happening in may of next year, hopefully. move is happening ????? idk whenever it works for both of us. it’s gonna be scary but i can’t complain or worry about it too much because my wife already did that move Alone, so , like,

and i realized that i have a lot of people (relatively, i guess.) who have been following me since i was like. 15? 16? and who maybe saw all that go down but don’t know what’s happening now.

anyways. on that front. my parents and i have… idk. kind of a relationship? not really sure. they have more of a relationship to me than i have to them, which is funny. they text me about every other day, but i don’t really answer that often. they know if they make negative commentary abt anything i’m doing they’ll just lose contact with me for good. they know i’m gay & that i’m getting married, and they’re Forced to be supportive Or Else, which i also find funny. they’re not attending my wedding though, On God.

had a weird thing happen a while back where my mom apologized for like. a lot of stuff. for the homophobia, for Some of the physical abuse she did, for some of the physical abuse & other abuse my dad & brother did to me. on their behalf, i guess? idk, being apologized to doesn’t really mean anything to me — or it didn’t, for a long time; i’ve only recently had Moments where someone apologized to me and i felt that it meant a lot — so i just felt weird about it. she was crying really hard, so i know that she knows that it was Bad. i still wish i could impart on her or on other people who don’t believe me Exactly what it was like, but i can’t.

for a large part it doesn’t really affect me, other than like, a desire to bury my head in the sand rather than Confront anything negative. so like. it doesn’t make it better but what i’m trying to say is like… idk, i’m doing fine, it could be way worse.

i guess i’m just biding my time until graduation. i almost wish i was working, because it feels like time passed a lot faster when i had work looming over me every two days. my class schedule for the next week is… fun…. i have a class from 2-4 and 6-8 on mondays, and then class from 6-8 on wednesdays. my fourth class is just my internship credit, and i don’t really need any more classes [that are offered in the fall].

so i’ll have plenty of free time, which is nice. i want to do more around the house, helping w upkeep and stuff. i have housemates & friends who i Love, which is not smth i would have expected like five years ago. so. time flies, i guess.

well, again, i’ve decided to break my commentary into sections, so things are easier to navigate (it starts with a bunch of reactions, but if you power through it there’s in depth comments too lmao), and i went a bit wild with arrows too (tell me if it’s better or worse, i’m still figuring out how to give long commentary). i do feel like i’ll never be able to live up to my forfeit analysis tho, lol, maybe when the story is complete and i write a full series review, but for now, given that i don’t have much time at hand anymore, i hope you still enjoy simpler feedback from me 🥰

⇝ i just LOVED the scene with yoongi and jungkook on the hallway. like, it could’ve been hoseok, namjoon or jin, but no, it had to be yoonkook 😩🗣 and of course we don’t know if the chapter is canon and – in the case that it is – when it takes place, but ugh, just to imagine that this is post-forfeit jungkook who wants to win the reader back and that’s post-flutter yoongi who just confessed and opened up to reader makes it all so funny and kdeofkdlfejksd

⇝ this part had me all giddy because i remember a 3tan slice you made of reader and yoongi talking about bro’s nice-jock-brother phase and before yoongi starts feeling guilty he gets all curious about those childhood stories. sidewalk too had some nostalgia moments and i liked it so much! it makes me interested in seeing yoongi’s reactions to reader’s embarrassing stories (especially knowing he was probably there for most of them too), i really love seeing them dwelling on memories:

↪ it’s said in forfeit that it's been a while since jin and namjoon saw the reader and they were away during most of their relationship we’ve seen, so i’m not 100% sure it means they are onto something. i think it’s more like that ask that jimin received if he was surprised to learn about yoongi and reader and he said that it kinda just made sense, so i think it’s something like that that namjin felt here — not suspicion, but a feeling like “what if…”

↪ yoongi is dead scared of not deserving the reader or something, and here she was really mad with him and was being kinda harsh and he just knows he didn’t do things the right way, so he was probably really scared going into her room and somewhat losing her. it might seem like a stretch, but the reader’s trust was shaken by something “small” and she was already thinking about a thousand of terrible scenarios, so i don’t think it’s above yoongi to overthink the situation too. and even the reader finds it a bit weird the way he’s acting:

Because Yoongi has shown you time and time again how dangerous he can be. How he can lose control in the best ways just as you do for him.

But right now? Devouring you like you both had been apart for months while your brother’s on the other side of the wall?

↪ i think that’s why he acted up with the brother so close and all: he not only wanted her to understand he’s hers, but he also wanted to assure that she still with him, she’s still there and still his too. i think one thing the reader doesn’t understand is that yoongi is as insecure as she is, but shows it in a different way ‘cus he has all this facade while she wears her heart under her sleeve.

⇝ i was cheated before, so i 100% get her:

“I know I shouldn’t have, but my brain went straight for the worst possible scenario. It’s, umm…”

Looking away, you fight the tears that you specifically didn’t want falling. The ones that you were done crying years ago,

“It’s happened before. Around this same time, actually.”

↪ even though i get how shitty it is to be questioned too. also, reading this brought a whole new level of understanding regarding her character and why she’s so insecure — beyond what we already know.

⇝ honestly this was just so damn perfect i had to stop reading for around 10 minutes to collect myself:

It’s a thin chain, with small links and no embellishments.

↪ it means so much after everything that happened, almost like their secret way of vowing their devotion to one another, through a symbol only them know the meaning and weight to.

⇝ i wanna say that subspace is something that makes me a bit uncomfortable overall, but the way you handled the hint of it here just made me relieved, especially yoongi’s attention and care to check on her and see if she’s still able to consent and shit, so even if it’s not my favorite thing, i know i’ll enjoy it with you writing it:

He leans down, and you’re regarding him with a strange look as he looks from one eye to the other.

Sliding your mouth back and forth, you make a few passes before releasing him to spit, coating him with your saliva before going again. With your other fingers busy on your clit, you feel the dirtiest you’ve felt in a long time.

↪ like someone said, having a drabble of their perspective coming into the house and hearing them would be amazing. but i imagine how tired you are too and the last thing i want is to put pressure on you too! if you find yourself wanting to write another drabble for us eventually, i’d definitely vote on this.

⇝ overall like, the smut is just so fucking overwhelming in a way. there are so much at play here, so much intimacy, so many words not said, and it’s so fucking intense, the way they can’t get enough of each other, how messy it gets, how they aren’t barely thinking and it’s just so fucking sexy how you are able to convey it all in your writing. i mean, how can i define this as anything but deliciously overwhelming (especially with the stream of consciousness here too):

The point. You get it. You get it you get it you understand it so fucking well.

↪ and here too:

Because Yoongi decides to switch up the pace, going slow enough to make you sob into soft lips rubbed raw.

Praise, reassurance, more praise. All of these things fall on your features and into your ears, and you hold onto him as if he’s your last lifeline.

When you give a vigorous shake of your head, fingers you adore clasp yours, and your hand is pressed into rumpled sheets next to your wet cheek. You’re so caught up and entirely whole that you don’t even realize where you end and he begins, don’t even register that you’re coming again because he’s already made you feel that fantastic.

↪ i mean, every intimate scene of them (be it just a kiss or a full on smut) always makes me think of closer. they both suck at communicating their feelings, it took that scene in forfeit for them to finally open up, so i see them often translating their feelings into touches and that portrays a heavy role in each intimate moment — and you write each with absolute perfection. we can feel the intensity of their feelings every time, how they give themselves into those moments. further evidence (thank god i was in my bed while reading, ‘cus otherwise i would’ve fall):

Instead of claiming your lips again, Yoongi goes for a light touch to your nose. Which is just as fine because that’s his to claim, too.

⇝ i found it interesting the way you decided to describe the house too. i’m not entirely sure why you did, but i’ll lay it out here in case it’s something i’m missing, but:

But they leave regardless, and you watch as they make it down the staircase of your elaborate rented house, their chatter coating both the polished floors and the decorated walls.

↪ and also:

Seriously, does every bedroom in this mansion-like place have a mini kitchen and living area, too?

↪ for me later on seemed to indicate some kind of imagery contrast. because the place is just so pretty, so sumptuous, but inside reside two siblings alone (at first), feeling the emptiness that the holidays bring them. i don’t know, i 100% might be reading too much into it, especially because the details aren’t often pejorative or exaggerated, and it can be just you revealing the environment through your character’s reaction to it, but yeah. welcome to overthinking 24/7.

⇝ you have this control, that i’m sure i’ve mentioned a bunch of times already, of information that’s so incredible. you know exactly when to hold back information and how to reveal it when it’s the right time. and it creates such and anxiety and tension from the very start like:

You know they’re meeting up with everyone else, but you can’t bring yourself to join in on the festivities. Not after whatever the hell you witnessed at dinner last night.

Why did Yoongi…

Fuck, forget about it. It’s probably nothing.

↪ i mean!! we read this and are immediately punching the air like it’s nOT NOTHING BESTIE, SPILL 😩 and you tease us so fucking bad like:

Frankly, you don’t wanna recall how the rest of that went down again.

↪ yes you do, sweetie, what happened 😭😩

↪ but not only regarding what happened on the trip, but before it. you drop some hints at some sour memory the sibling share regarding that time of the year:

Your brother most definitely heard you from right next door.

Eyes shut, you fling your hand around while making your way over to tell him to screw off. He knows better than anyone why you could possibly be in one of these moods, dinner woes or not.

⇝ i love the creative ways in which you describe their feelings. i’ve mentioned this in my commentary for the OG chapter, and i’m pretty sure i mentioned it too for forfeit, but i just NEED to point out every time, ‘cus i mean:

A tsk scratches your teeth before you lean the cocoa against your cup, and the kettle boils just as your blood pressure falls close behind.

↪ you could’ve just said she was nervous and angry and whatnot, but no. and i don’t know if it’s because english isn’t my first language, but i struggle so much to write those types of ‘expositions’ on my own work, so i just have to cherish the way you do it.

⇝ another thing i’ve mentioned countless times, but it never fails to amaze me when you do it, is the way you use free indirect speech. there ain’t no filter between the discourse and their thoughts, and what happens is a complete connection with the characters, we feel with them and we think with them, and that happens in every sentence, not only in bigger rants or rationalizations, but in smaller reactions too, for example, the lack of punctuation here that indicates also a stream of consciousness beyond free indirect speech:

Shut up. Just shut up shut up and talk again because Jungkook looks gravely concerned.

↪ and the same here, with no punctuation, just rapid thought and impulsive words shown through free indirect speech:

But the dinner, the dinner, the dinner. You didn’t ask about it, but Yoongi still could’ve said something about it right he could’ve texted well okay this really shouldn’t be that big of a deal anyway maybe it’s nothing but fuck you’re still mad wait you’re saying something,

“Have fun sightseeing.”

What does he mean he lied what did he lie about he better explain quick or else… a pouch?

↪ and you mastered this tool so well that you’re able to make writing feel a lot like a movie, ‘cus you make as visualize things through this speech, like here:

↪ given that we’re inside the reader’s head, we react to things as she does and it’s not stiff, it’s so fucking organic the way things unfold and develop that ugh it almost makes me frustrated.

↪ and that’s why i love dal segno too. the chapter is intense not because of what happens per say or the bits of information we get, but because of how you translate those events to the page and we are 100% on yoongi’s shoes. i’m behind on my reviews (yours and all the other fics i’m reading), but i can’t wait to get to dal segno and just fight you.

⇝ i don’t have anything specific here to point, other than i thought it was a really smart sequence:

Doors slam a lot louder when they’re huge.

And leave a more prominent silence, too.

↪ again, nothing specific, just nice and creative sentencing that had me scrunching up my nose thinking like “damn, she writes so fucking well, not a single word is wasted to create or further establish mood and atmosphere”:

THINGS TO CONSIDER

⇝ this one took me a while to figure, but i know it couldn’t be random:

A hushed conversation determined that Yoongi would only stay for a few more minutes, but neither of you bring it up when a whole seventeen of them fly by.

↪ but then i remembered:

⇝ we don’t know when the chapter is happening, but reading it after forfeit lead to some bittersweet moments, like:

“I’ll just take you here myself.”

His look of confidence has you averting your gaze in an instant.

“Just us.”

Tonight has taken too many turns into madness. He’s joking, right? It’s not enough to sneak into your room with your door completely unlocked, huh?

No. He’s not serious. You both know that’s the longest shot in history, especially considering your situationship isn’t even fully fleshed out.

But it’s nice to pretend.

Especially when he sounds so sure it’ll be real someday.

↪ the fact she calls it a situationship (although i get the necessity to make it official), and how she doesn’t really seem to see a future for them… i don’t know, it just made me kinda sad. like when she mentions never telling her brother about their relationship:

Because this little secret cannot be revealed. Not yet, at least. Maybe not ever since your brother would probably riot.

↪ and even after everything that goes down:

…As long as you can keep whatever this is with him up.

↪ although, after the three of them interact and it’s nice and familiar and cozy, she does start to consider it, maybe after having her insecurities dealt with and all, but stil...:

⇝ we see reader might also have some sides she's not shown yet. we see how she wants to dom yoongi, how — given the fact that yoongi made her feel comfortable in her sexuality — she acts up and talks stuff too how she said in flutter that she wants to! and i mean:

You’ve been wanting to do this for so long—longer than you’ll ever, ever divulge. All the nights you spent touching yourself imagining him watching from your desk, or even right beside you on the bed, whispering things that you will never admit that you thought of yourself.

↪ i know we’re all super hyped to see yoongi’s full form, but damn… i think we might be overlooking reader a lil bit too:

Not only that. It’s also reaching into you and unearthing parts that you wouldn’t dare show anyone else. If you were honest, you’re a bit frightened at the thoughts dripping into your mind, coalescing into a dark, wonderful pool.

↪ also this made me think this happens at least some months after flutter, ‘cus then she voiced a desire she has to talk more about what she wants and here she does it pretty easily (considering how hard it was for her then).

⇝ i kinda wanna see more of just yoongi and bro talking. i don’t think we’ve ever had an interaction with them without the reader listening. the same goes for reader and bro, even if we have some scenes already, their dynamic if very interesting to me, the way they trust and know each other so well, and how much they must’ve been through and it translates in every interaction:

“I mean, this trip is cool and all, but holidays aren’t really…”

“Our thing. Yeah.”

⇝ this caught my attention, but if i’m being honest i didn’t get it 😭 at first i thought it was because she said she wanted to forget her name, then i assumed it was so it wouldn’t draw brother’s attention, but i’m not sure:

With a passing thought, you just realized that he hadn’t even been using names until then.

⇝ ok, so i do think they lost their parents. ‘cus they are basically alone at the house all the time, they never reach out to their parents and the only people in reader’s and bro’s life are their friends. besides, it’s often said how bro had this pressure of providing for them both and that’s why he had to outperform at college and get a good job right as he was out too. this chapter makes me think they lost them around christmas eight years ago (although even in sidewalk when yoongi and reader were talking about some memories, her parents weren’t mentioned, so who knows really):

You say it’s one of the things you have most in common, but you do kinda want things to be different. Happier. Very much unlike how you felt over the last eight years or so.

⇝ i also think that yoongi’s stolen bracelet has something to do with his ex… but i have nothing to back it up lol

i was texting a friend while doing my "needlessly anxious re-watch of all of thepandaredd compilations to make sure i didnt miss an OC or any important info before i post" (i did, i missed Arnold and also a maybe-hand-symbol of the Agents of the Reboot), and since she has also seen several bits of thepandaredd's stuff, she was sweet enough to ask me questions about my notes. like "oh, cool, what did you learn?" and "what would you like to ask since making this?" and then encouraged me to post my answers in tandem with the post in case?? any of it could be answered? (no entitlement here tho, i swear) im trying to apply more of Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture"'s bit about how, generally, the worse that will happen when you put yourself out there is a "no" and return to status quo instead of just being Very Anxious About Everything All The Time lmao

as usual, i apologize for not editing this. id rather be prompt than polished when it comes to casual stuff like this. (which like. yes, even my casual texts are long. i over-explain, i info-dump, i am not a succinct person lmao)

● "what did you learn?"

well the most shocking part i learned from keeping these notes is the realization that thepandaredd either COMPLETELY accidentally (in which case, wow, is that fucking LUCKY) or METICULOUSLY planned (which, wow, that is fucking DETAILED) made up a set of pre-reboot "Ted"s and "Alex"s that could be cassualities from Bill The Henchman's reboot, along with a set of post-reboot "Ted"s and "Alex"s to replace the previous set. because the Ted and Alex pre-reboot set are two goons that Bill circumstantially could have known (and is vaguely feasible for them to have known each other assuming thepandaredd wanted that?). this pre-reboot Ted died in a Bill The Henchman skit, where Ted got thrown off the Wayne Towers (roughly 73 stories high) by Man-Bat. this pre-reboot Alex was in the Todd The Goonion Rep skit (where Bill The Henchman was also in, though Alex and Bill did not interact/share a scene) where Alex was a Bane henchman who was a victim of wage-theft and not-up-to-code company housing via pit/sewers. and then the reboot happened. and thepandaredd just released a tiktok series about some influencer named Ted whose life is crumbling — and who, regardless on if this is a reboot-alternate-life Ted or reboot-to-prequel-into-repeating-the-same-death Ted: the henchman LinkedIn joke is especially funny and oddly so much darker— who has a co-worker friend at Ted's assumed day-job named Alex who lives in a duplex split between Penguin and Two-Face territory. how fucking wild. if they are the same set but now rebooted, i wonder if Bill will recognize them

other things ive learned: in addition to the arguably-two-or-one Ted/s, thepandaredd has three seemingly seperate OCs all with the forename Todd, and only one of them has a last name (Todd Andrews, of Superb Prowers). i also learned a speaking pattern differntations between Dr. Morton (calls patients exclusively by their villain-names) and Dr. Aaron Michaels (calls patients exclusively by their civillian-names) that i find endlessly fascinating. i also realized Bill's skeleton-growing necklace thing he got from a fan might be gone bc of the reboot (or maybe its still there, idk). and, lastly, i wrote down notes of each named OC's (a few unnamed, but not many) wardrobe and most of them are "wears all black" and, y'know, as someone with a brother as well as a best friend who wear exclusively black, that was endearingly funny to keep typing again and again, it makes sense for Gothamites lmao all cool stuff to figure out

● "do you have anything you'd want to ask?"

short answer: yeah, there's a FEW things

now, the more me (fucking long) answer:

first, if i could ask any question (other than a question about if Bill's necklace is still the skeleton-growing thing or not because we haven't seen it since the reboot), it'd actually not be a clarification question. it'd actually be entirely biased around my special interest in "conceptual processes in media (aka: pre-production, and i still remain steadfast in insisting the 'writing ideas down on a shitty napkin' phase is probably my favorite part btw)", especially anything art related (where its most obvious manifestation is a hoard of concept-art books i showed you, bc, again, i just like people showing their work): and i just wanna know how the Goonion came to be. like. sure, feel free to answer in the sense of in-story lore how it got established as a bonus, i'd love that, of course. but my actual interest is based on "hey, thepandaredd how the fuck did you come up with the idea" (which i assume they have already answered that in a panel or twitch stream but **i** havent heard the answer yet). because i would have assumed there'd be a tiktok or something about "hey what if" that **then** became an exploratory skit (bc he's done that several times, which, fair), but nah. there is just Bill The Henchman's first appearance (where he was the first henchman ever beat up by a Robin), then MANY tiktoks later is a brief tiktok talking about Marvel Comics' Taskmaster Academy, and then MANY MORE tiktoks later is Bill's second ever appearance (its the "How the Bat Boys deal with henchmen" if youre curious) where Bill is properly called "a professional goon" AND name-drops "the Goonion" for the first time and a surprsing very few tiktoks later the Goonion shirt dropped, followed THEN by like a couple more tiktoks after is Todd The Goonion Rep's first tiktok drops and so on, which i know from legit going back and scrolling through thepandaredd tiktok to see if i had just missed the tiktok + if it just wasn't added to the youtube Compilations, and i couldn't find it. and like… i like knowing concept stuff, i wanna know how the Goonion came to be

(if i could be permitted a second question, id just want to know if thepandaredd has read ask-spiderpool?? as dorky as that is? which like. i know you said is too long for YOU to wanna read, BUT STILL. maybe he's read it. idk if they have a secret tumblr (also it is in a few other places now, i think. like i know its getting cross-posted to webtoons now but i think that one is still very fucking new). maybe. you never know. it is a v popular ask-blog fan-comic about Spider-man and Deadpool. esp bc of it really takes advantage of the ask-blog side of itself (it is v fitting of deadpool's psyche, you cannot refute that) to the point it feels like a critique on the nature of the ask-blog format? plus, that shit has been p consistently running since (i just checked) 2014?? so just about ten years??? fucking WILD. and, fam, i swear, it gets really fucking good, youve read One Piece, you can do ask-spiderpool, i so highly recommend it. like, it is the slowest slow-burn romance of all time, the creator knew these two have a LOT to work through and, even now that they are finally a couple, have still a SHIT bunch to work through. it is a really excellent character-exploration, i swear youd love it if med-school gave you the fucking time in the day. and its fucking wild to me how it gets a quite a bit of ask-spiderpool-specific fan-art and fanfic. but like. it gets it for a reason. like. again, not just "it reblogs spiderpool fan-art" NAH it gets "ask-spiderpool fan-art"??? wHAT!!! i love it, but id also enjoy hearing if thepandaredd loves/hates it or if he is just "meh" about it, assuming they have read any of it. idk

(a third would be wanting to know their Jason Todd playlist, thepandaredd said there would be East Coast rap, and i would love to explore the playlist. but thats just bc i like listening to people's Jason Todd playlists a lot. but i assume the playlist is private for a reason? or maybe i just havent seen the link for it. idk)

but yeah the skele-grow one is bothering me the most, but i also know that one will be indirectly answered SOMETIME. bc the necklace does get untucked SOMETIMES so itll likely be untucked again and i can confirm if post-reboot Bill still has it or not, so id probably ask one of the other ones if i was like at a panel q&a, it depends

i think it might be a bit at this point, i find it hard to believe he doesn't know he's doing this. my whining comes from how ive run out of "what todd can be short for" forenames tho so any other Todds will just have the hc name of Todd to me, i guess lol

plus, Jason is also my favorite. so. like. i get it. its a subtle nod of a tribute, fair enough. its their OCs, im just writing notes when im not too sick to pay attention lol they can do whatever. i did put in "please, consider stopping, theres three assumedly different Todds" in my notes post, but im not serious about it, i think i even wrote that "its your stuff, do whatever, im mostly complaining as a gag" in case they do read the post? (i do plan on sending it, so maybe) but it does get confusing to ensure im putting the info in the right place as someone who is dyslexic lol but its his stuff, its whatever for me, i just like his content, if his content has more Todds/Teds thats fine lmao

but yeah! if you were curious, that is my headspace around what i had fun learning and what questions i still have! i have no entitlement towards any of it being answered or replied to. this was mostly for fun because i do like learning this kind of stuff and me publishing this stuff is me getting out of my comfort-zone in a way where i can handle the discomfort lol

plus, ive been really sick and this has been a nice way to feel that "i am making progress in a project" sense of accomplishment. both towards the notes being up-to-date and towards the DC fanfic i eventually wanna write but feel too sick to do chronologically yet. maybe after classes are off my plate and i got my degree/s. but yeah. its been a very nice comfort to make this, so i am v happy with myself (and thepandaredd by extension) even without any answered questions ♡
