Fan-Favorite Ninjago Ships Poll

I'm curious! I'm sure everyone else is too!

I want to know: what are the top Ninjago Ships? Not just by ao3 count or tag popularity, I want to know how many people have them as a favorite of theirs!

So, I've set up a google form to find out! There are five blanks for you to insert your top five ships in any order. Whether you like Lavashipping or Jaya, maybe Survivalshipping, Polyponytails, or Greencheerleader!

Hey, since im getting more active in the Ninjago fandom i just wanted to let you all know.

i like Llorumi. i think it's fun.

BUT i only like it when the people making it acknowledge that Lloyd matched Harumi's freak

This can apply to Llokita too BTW, mostly I'm just annoyed that most people aren't capitalizing on the fact that canonically Lloyd's type is angry women who could kick his ass. like come ON people

I don't ship lloykita but their should be a werewolf-vampire au about them. Akita is already like a werewolf (human that magically turns into a wolf) and people draw lloyd with oni traits that can look similar to vampires (red eyes, fangs). Onis are canibals. You could probably make it so that lloyd bites and drinks people's blood cause he gets hungry but doesn't want to you know- eat people. So he drinks blood as a way to cure his cravings while not hurting people as much as his stomach wants to. his elemental power is energy so he needs to get energy somewhere and since its harder to get it with half the day being spent indoors, when he drinks someones blood he's also sapping away their energy as well and sorta leaving them in a paralyzed state.

Instead of wooden stakes it's stakes made of vengestone.

Zane x Pixal: they are soulmates and no one can say otherwise.

Kai x Skylor: the two of them balance each other well, plus seeing Kai get all lovey-dovey around Skylor is just cute.

Lloyd x Akita: Akita likes Lloyd for himself and isn’t interested in his status as the Green Ninja, she just might be the one person he could be with without having to worry about keeping up appearances.

Cole x Vania: they’re just great together (as lovers or as friends), their dynamic is sweet and both admire and encourage each other with just simple honest words.

I'm going to post art for all of these, along with a few of my thoughts on the ships that have been sent to me. Just for funsies :)

Fun fact, I used to hate Jaya. I thought it was really forced in the canon, and Jay's really obsessive behavior that is the catalyst for all of the events in Skybound always really bothered me? But tumblr has completely turned me around on this ship. They have their moments in canon, but in fanon they're really wonderful. thanks tumblr <3

these two...... 🥺they are really good i will admit. I'm a big fan of glaciershipping myself and I tend to prefer it over pixane, but these two are so lovely to each other and i totally see the appeal. I just wish pixal wasn't so sidelined in the canon fr what were they doing with her character??? let her be around more often let her and zane be sweet together. please smh

SKYLOR ALSO HAS NOTHING TO DO MOST OF THE TIME-- honestly this show sidelines like all of its female characters so hard. but these two are great toooo theyre sweeeet 😊 i just wish skylor was used for more than cameos. i like that she's the only one that can consistently shake kai's ego it's a great dynamic

lloyd and akita!! i'm gonna be so real with you guys i forget about akita so often ;v; which is a shame... i give her the award for most sidelined female character because she existed for half a season. but she and lloyd are sweet! I don't tend to ship lloyd with anyone personally, but i do love that they meet under the circumstances of "lloyd is in a world where his name and status mean nothing so he has no pressure to perform". it's a fantastic break for him. holy shit he deserves it

im gonna be so honest with all of you um. i actually. havent seen MotM yet. i was in the middle of my rewatch, and i got up to the point i stopped, right before MotM, and then Netflix changed their watch policies. and then of course i got busy

but from what i've seen of these two in fanon they seem alright! I usually prefer them in other wlw or mlm ships because of ONE ninjago vine compliation thing i saw with the two of them as this one tiktok and i've never been able to think of them as a couple since then. But they seem like they have a lovely friendship, whether that ends up turning to romance or not!

Akita nodded, her lungs lurching for more air, her gaze focusing on the bright green eyes in front of her.

“Why don’t you try and remember all the insults you’ve wanted to call me since I’ve been here, I’m sure you’ve got plenty of those,” Lloyd grinned. 

Akita chuckled through her nerves. “You know I would have already said them if I had them.”

“Good point,” Lloyd nodded, his eyes too now focused on hers, strangely unable to break their connection. “Let’s think of something else then...”

A beat passed between them filled with heavy breaths and unblinking eyes, the tension slowly dissipating from Akita’s fingers. No matter how panicked her instincts told her she should be, she found her mind slowly calming as she centered her gaze where she was told. Maybe it was the act of focusing, but she couldn’t shake the idea that maybe it was just… him.

Lokita was rushed and just took place too soon.

Now Lloyd and Akita could actually have made a great pair (honestly even I ship them) but the timing was just wrong for them to actually be anything even remotely like to a couple. Ever. If they ever meet again.

I feel like Lloyd wasn’t ready to deal with a new relationship or his feelings when they met. His emotional state was not the best especially after the entire Harumi and oni trilogy debacle. A lot of time has passed as mentioned in the series but I still think he had barely coped with it by that point.

We can see this when he was rambling about all this to Akita when he thought she was still just wolf. He had likely been rambling for hours. This kinda felt like he was just trying to get out all his pent up emotions which was a lot of stuff. He hadn’t dealt with this an just needed an outlet. Even though he might have acted like he was okay it was clear he wasn’t over it.

So having Akita felt too soon after he had to see first hand just how much destruction was caused by Harumi taking advantage of him.

I don’t think he was in love with Akita at that point. Maybe he liked her a little but he was unsure of even that. So the love felt like it was mostly one-sided from Akita. And Akita’s feelings might not even be that strong.

Maybe in other circumstances their relationship would atleast be somewhat possible. ( we are also excluding the fact they were from different realms for a moment) But at that time it would be idea for Lloyd.

I feel like they were just friends and would continue to stay friends if they ever met again.
