I'm playing Star Trek Resurgence and I cannot stop thinking how much the chief engineer, Lt. Cmdr. Chovak, looks like Solok and Mina's son.

Unfortunately the timeline doesn't allow for it, but still... My heart has adopted him.

Instead of a nice family Christmas at my SILs with the whole in-law family, me, my husband and our immunocompromised three year old will be at home because COVID. Thankfully we're all only minorly suffering, feels like a bad cold.

But honestly I'm just grateful we're at home and not in the hospital since that's where we spent the last one.

So, I had the last question during Rich’s panel in Nashville.  It was super awesome because I did not think for a second that they were going to get to me and Rich was super sweet, as always, when answering it.

But the question was about what music he listens to when he is prepping to direct and it led to him reading out the entirety of one of his playlists.  I may or may not have recreated that playlist on my spotify and spent the morning laughing my butt off, because he was right, it makes no sense whatsoever and I love it!

I really want to get cracking on the next chapter of Solok/Mina, but it's very emotionally heavy and I am very tired, so it's slow going. It's not forgotten though, I'm still very much working on it!

Kinda want to write some Captain Shaw smut, but I feel like if I do that before the series is over, he's gonna die for sure, lol.

500 kudos on AO3 for "A Change of Opinion"!

I wish I'd realised it was coming up, maybe I could have commissioned some art, but take this terrible poster I made, lol.

I'm honestly so touched and blown away by how much love my Solok/Mina fic has received. When I first started it, I thought the only people who'd read it were the friends I'd spoken to about it, and a handful of Tumblr followers. It's grown so much, and it means so much to me. It's been a tough couple of years for me and my family, and it's no exaggeration to say that writing this fic, and knowing people are waiting for the next chapter, has kept me going through my worst days. I've been writing this for over a year, its nearing 200k words, 33 chapters and counting, and today it hit 500 kudos. I know to some writers and fandoms, 500 is probably small fry, but I feel like someone just handed me a platinum award. I'm beyond grateful to everyone who's read, kudos, commented, beta read and given feedback.

And now I better get back to writing the next chapter!

Can't believe I've been writing my Solok/Mina fic for a whole year now! A big TY to everyone who's read it, commented, kudos'ed, and contributed through beta reading and chatting with me.

My brain has latched on the thought of getting a drawing tablet. And like... I don't draw! Lol. I attempt it from time to time, and it looks like something a seven year old would do (which, you know, fine, gotta start somewhere) but I definitely don't do it often enough to warrant spending money on a drawing tablet...

However...

If I bought a tablet, I'd have to draw more, right?

Maybe it's just me, but one of the worse things about being ND is that when you've "learnt the scripts" for conversation, and you're rejection sensitive, it's really clear to see when people dgaf about you. Cos you ask how they are, how things are going in their lives, and then you're thinking "...and now you ask me..." And when they don't it's like, "ok, fuck me I guess."

No, I do not have an explanation.

No, I have not written any fics (yet) or thought much on how they meet or get together but they're both hot and their children would have the glossiest hair.

I met up with an online Trekkie friend irl (she's from Texas, I'm from England, and we met in London) and she gave me a real life Bubbles the bath frog, from my Solok/Mina fic 😭🥰

And it has babies!

I've just watched Episode 9 of strange new worlds and I am... Disappointed and angry.

Such a pointless waste.

Started watching the latest lower decks episode with my husband this afternoon, and our two year old decided he was going to start toddling off to the kitchen just as we hit play.

I went "Hey, look, Star Trek!" And my kid turned around like 😃 and honestly, peak parenting pride right there.
