Why is the dancer dragging lizzo to the court what happened?

Oh this has been going on since last year. Her former dancers have filed a lawsuit accusing Lizzo of assault, disability discrimination, and sexual harassment.

Lizzo has been brushing off all allegations as false and I think the lack of self awareness and the way she’s brushed it all off, rubbed many people the wrong way. Lizzo might have never intended to harm anyone, yet she should’ve acknowledged that feelings were hurt.

Instead her defense strategy was to be super dismissive about it all and I think many people have decided they won’t let her off the hook about the accusations until she finally does (although we yet have to understand what actually happened). It definitely impacted her IG follower numbers since this is what I was referring to here.

It's a shame if Lizzo feels like she's gotten bullied out of the music industry. But I don't know if the lawsuits accusing her of doing the same thing, and worse, to people have merit. And her responses to everything seem prickly and defensive, like she feels owed positive attention because she's unorthodox.

And that really isn't how it works for anybody. She decided to stake her claim in an industry known for grinding people into the dirt, even if they're white and "perfect." That sucks, but like...they do that shit to everyone. And it isn't like she hasn't reaped the rewards of it.

If she doesn't like it, great, get out of it. It's an awful space. ...But she KNEW that. I don't understand what she expected.

They were never going to stop calling her fat, especially when she leaned into it. Did she think the bullying was going to somehow fade away, especially for her? That was never, ever going to happen, because the industry is dogshit.

Also now it sounds like she is still having serious issues with her own self-image. Maybe that misery led her to bully other people, if those allegations are true? That's a possibility.

I love her art, but it sounds like she really needs to step back and deal with all of this personal stuff. And if she did what she's accused of...she was part of the industry dogshit she hates. THAT'S not doing anyone any favors.

Best idea is to sort it out, outside of the limelight. Fans will wait for her, if she comes back with interesting art, and there is some kind of resolution to the accusations.

She's also allowed to be sick of being "the fat girl" and do something about that. She has the time and means to do that, if she wants.

I kind of hope she sincerely is quitting. Whether she's the good guy or the bad guy here, she clearly needs to work through all the distractions.

It's the music industry. The bullies always win. Because we keep paying them to push new meat into our grinder. Because we eat it up.

Like so many other terrible systems, it's awful and we're responsible for it, but we also really don't care, or we wouldn't engage with it. And we do. So getting snarky about it is just childish virtue-signaling.

Even when we were praising Lizzo, it was us putting unrealistic expectations on her to satisfy our own selfish bullshit. It was still using her.

And she clearly doesn't want to, or can't, deal with our shit anymore.

This year, the great, good, and outrageously sexy gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the one and only, nEwWĕ yörKę citæyyyyy for the event known as "The Super Bowl of Fashion." Here, a sheer mass of the glitziest, most glam celebz sported pearls, starched collars, and black and white to honor the legendary German designer, who passed away in 2019. For this year's theme, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty", invite-only attendees were asked to wear clothes "in honor of Karl". And honor, they did, with an array of designs, dresses, and costumes to astonish, illuminate, and bedazzle. “Thank you so much,” the former One Direction member, 29, said during his acceptance speech. “This album, from start to finish, has been the greatest experience of my life. From making it with two of my best friends to playing it for people has been the greatest joy I could have asked for.”

The Don’t Worry Darling star went on to thank “everyone who inspired this album” and all of the friends who “supported” him during the recording process. “I wouldn’t be here without you,” he added. “Thank you so much.”
