Red – at least once – described himself as being powerless against Liz, which – considering his famous "that's what love is, being powerless" quote – is a very interesting choice of a word.

Oh, anon... very interesting word choice, indeed 😏😏😏 I got this a few days ago (I'm sorry, I've been working on my fic!!) but I think this was inspired by a T*m K**n gifset that was recently going around, something to do with their wedding day... & honestly, that whole speech of Red's about awe at Lizzie's beauty on her wedding day is just gut-wrenching. It's my personal headcanon that he fell in love with Liz when/shortly after/gradually starting from when he met her again at the blacksite, but seeing her at her wedding?? A beautiful adult woman?? Who had eyes only for a lying, gaslighting double agent?? Yeah, I'm sure that didn't help matters 😂😭 Anyway, I totally agree with you, anon, this is one parallel in a list of about 4 million that points to Lizzington as the only sensible endgame & - in a way - I'm so thrilled the show is effectively over & I can just ignore the huge retcon of seasons past & ship in peace. It is... strangely liberating 🥲 Anyway, thanks again, anon, & much love to you, my friend!! ❤️

2020 Creator Wrap: Favorite Works

rules: it’s time to love yourselves! choose ~5 favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome work! 

i was tagged by @prodigalleverage​, @petesdragon​, and @catty-words​ for this one. thank you, friends! i think it was good for me, to go through my tags and realize that some nice stuff did come into existence this year even if it didn’t feel like my best year ever.

1. bound to each other's hearts (this love is like wildfire) - the fic i wrote to close out my five-year-old lizzington (the blacklist) series. i’m really proud of this one because i had a painful breakup with the show and have completely outgrown the pairing, but i was able to do it justice one last time, and that felt good.

2. the road not taken looks real good now - a little alvareider (one day at a time) fic. i like it because i dropped in references from canon, one of my favorite things to do, and also because it’s a deleted scenes fic that i can’t believe i never thought of before. it could have been a perfect canon beginning for them.

3. a primary walks into a bar... - a jennifer/deacon (12 monkeys) fic that was my attempt to continue their dynamic post-canon. i like the other fics i’ve written for them, too, but this is a longer story and i let go of it without spending weeks on tiny edits, and i’m very proud of that. 

4. this lenny/midge (the marvelous mrs. maisel) gifset, because the quote it was inspired by fits them so well, and it makes me feel happy and nostalgic and bittersweet every time i see it. i could’ve sworn i made the set last year, not this one, but apparently it was a 2020 creation! who knew.

5. this alvareider (one day at a time) gifset, because it’s pretty and also sort of the ultimate argument for all of us who love them as a ship. it takes penelope’s very first important monologue, and pairs that with scenes from canon to show that she and schneider belong together. i consider that some of my best work.

6. this mazikeen (lucifer) tarot gifset, because it’s the most complicated edit i’ve made in a long time and it involved learning new techniques. i’m also proud of the idea itself because people had done tarot sets for lucifer and for other shows, but i hadn’t seen anybody doing them for individual characters yet.

this was a really interesting experience, looking back--i created way more than i realized in 2020! even excluding things like screencap sets from my edits tag, i made 59 gifsets this year. and despite my complete absence from ao3 between may and november, i wrote 14 fics across 7 fandoms, plus a few new chapters for WIPs i began before 2020.

i’m not tagging anyone since this is going up so late, almost everybody’s 2020 should be over by now. but if you’d like to do it anyhow and want a reason, you can totally say i tagged you.

Lizzington shippers, fam, grandmas and grandpas, can I have a moment of your attention, please?

It's not a secret that, while some people in Lizzington community are still active, whether they write or make gifs or keep our dash full of Lizzington even in this trying times ( @melbob26-blog, thank you for this! ), Lizzington community as a whole went into hibernation over the last couple of years.

And I get it, interests change, especially when one show ends and there's another ongoing, moving on from the show that ended is totally natural, especially when it didn't give your favorite characters the happy ending they deserved.

I get it.

Hell, for a pretty lengthy while there I focused on other ships and shows, too, especially after TBL ended ended last year.

But you know what I realized earlier today, when I reread some of the old fics, browsed through gifsets and text posts, watched some fanvids?

It's the show that ended, for some in 2021, for others in 2023. And the only thing that means is that it cannot disappoint us anymore.

( it's not like we were suddenly deprived of quality content, because let's face it, the fans have been the main source of the quality lizzington content for years now, while the show gave us mere crumbs, on a good day )

But Red and Liz?

They are still out there, fighting criminals, catching Blacklisters, travelling the world, shamelessly flirting, toppling shadow organizations, raising Agnes and/or any other children they have, and generally being the sexy badass power couple they are!

Nothing changed in that regard.

So why would we mourn them, when they are out there, healthy and happy and in the middle of yet another adventure? I'm sure right this moment Red is drawing Liz into another one of his heists and she's only too happy to join him, even though she pretends that she's not, for the sake of the game.

There's literally no reason for us to stop writing, giffing, editing, sharing theories and headcanons and memes and just talking about our favorite couple.

And by writing all of this, I want to propose something daring to you:

Let's revive the Lizzington community!

Let's rewatch earlier seasons and gif the hell out of them because it's been a while and because precious moments between these two are not going to become less precious even if it's giffed 10 or 100 more times, not to mention that ever gifmaker's style is different, so there are virtually no two identical gifsets as there are no two identical snow flakes.

Let's make fanvideos, picspams, picture edits, fanart, moodboards! The amount of songs, quotes, moments etc that can inspire you is virtually endless!

Let's write fics, let's explore AUs, let's give each other prompts and challenge each other to try something new or practice some aspect of writing, like writing kisses or AUs or hugs or making up Blacklisters etc!

Let's share headcanons and theories and ideas and what our versions of Red and Liz are like, because everyone has their own unique versions of Red and Liz living in their head, and it's just beautiful, if you ask me!

Let's reblog stuff, filling each other's dashes with Lizzington!

Let's scream about Lizzington because no one does it like them!

Let's revive the Lizzington Community, we all miss it!
