What about Hunter teaching Omega how to dance?? 🥺🥺🥺🥺
LIZ THIS IS TOO CUTE STOOOOP, OMG 😭
Sorry it made me think of this gif. Father/daughter fluff, leave me alone i am made of jelly
Tumblr media
Hunter didn't fancy himself the 'dad type'. Traveling, bounty hunting, endless scrapping and fighting, and frequenting Cyd's little bar wasn't an ideal location for a child. Hunter glanced at Omega as she tapped through the holoscreen on the jukebox in the corner. Her face was so identical to his and his brothers- a replica unlike any other he had met.
He chided himself. Clones are not fathers.
But something in his nature warmed when he saw her eyes fill with that happiness when she looked at the stars, or smelled clean grass, or explored new planets. Hunter smiled to himself, running a hand over his armorless arm as he leaned on the bar, watching. Omega's brow quirked- like Tech's- and her lips pursed as she read the titles of the songs- like Wrecker's- and she skimmed the list.
"Hunter?"
Blinking, Hunter lowered his drink as the smaller clone turned to look back at him. "Yeah, kid?"
"You know any of these songs?"
Hunter lowered his cup. He was nearly finished with the drink anyway. "Lemme look." Hunter lumbered over, the taste of cheap drink sour in his mouth. Omega stepped away from the jukebox, small fingers tapping each other as they steepled, probably an Echo habit. He smiled sideways towards her, noting briefly that the rainbow light of the jukebox looked bright and demanding on her hair, especially compared to his and his brothers own dark locks. "Huh. Bunch of stuff on here." Hunter thumbed through, tagging over the list of songs.
Omega bounced on her toes as Hunter selected a song, one he vaguely recalled the name of from skimming through whatever networks he could get when he was planetside through the war.
The notes were far more lilted and bright than they were on a crackling ship radio. It was energetic, even, and Hunter looked down at Omega, feeling his lip twitch in amusement. "This whatcha wanted?"
She nodded, her whole body hopping now. Giggling as she reached up, Omega clasped Hunter's hands.
Hunter wasn't quite sure what happened. All military thought melted away and he felt a laugh, a low grumbly chuckle, reverberate in his chest as he held her hands. He was the shortest of his brothers, but even he forgot how small the child was. Hunter grinned and moved with her as she danced. Her feet stepped on the tops of his, and Hunter moved with the music, being the guide for the small girl. Omega's laugh was light. From here, war was a distant thought, or more akin to a memory of some horrible days long passed.
Sure. Normal soldiers weren't fathers.
Good thing he was from a bad batch of soldiers.

I was tagged by @girlbosscrawley (hi, liz!) to share 10 movies that I love. I can rant a bit, so I will challenge myself to sum up why I chose these movies in one (1) sentence. We’ll see how it goes.
Pride and Prejudice (2005): perfect comfort film because it takes an indisputable fact - men are morons - BUT mixes it with the ultimate fantasy of said men not only realizing their moronic status, but taking active steps to acknowledge and remedy their ills.
Little Women (2019): I left the theatre almost in tears after seeing this  because it was the first time I felt like I had seen myself - the entirety of myself - onscreen.
Beauty and the Beast (2017): I went to see this in theatres five times so I could get high on popcorn and the cathartic release of watching all the servants die miserable deaths, then - poof! they’re alive again and everyone lives happily ever after SO you get to cry like a baby with no consequences.
Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994): I watched this one recently - just over Christmas vacation - and my sister and I were just dying laughing the whole time at the sheer delight of 90s era Hugh Grant running around London in a state of unorganized adorable panic.
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002): Listen: I have a stormy, storied relationship with the star war, but nothing will ever match the impact the alleged “cringe” romance of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala had on my pre-teen self and it still SLAPS.
Sleepless in Seattle (1993): My aunt introduced me to this one while I was staying with her last year, and I was absolutely fascinated, not only by the fact that Tom Hanks was not always an old man, and in fact, once considered Hot, but how despite the leads barely interacting throughout the film, when they meet at the end, the magic and romance and the sense of a happy ending is undeniable and just pooling off the screen and making you, the viewer, feel all fuzzy inside. This is no longer just one sentence, but I have to say, it made no damn sense, but it was magical.
Frozen (2013): It was a game-changer for a reason, I do not care if this is cringe, Frozen (2013) slaps and I was obsessed with it for most of my teenage years and I proudly walked into Theatre Royal Drurry Lane and took my seat surrounded by five-year-olds to watch the musical version in London last November.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009): The slapping soundtrack, the warm brown autumnal colour palate, the Pacific Northwest setting, the depression, the slow-burn, the yearning, the conflict, the angst, the love triangle, the offensively topless Robert Pattinson: this movie has it all: argue with the wall.
My Policeman (2022): I watched this instead of going out for fireworks on Guy Fawkes Day for I was sick (probably with covid, but I digress) and I felt that it was true, intelligent cinema that tricked my emotions and made me completely rethink everything after a Twist Was Revealed, which is what Art should do, methinks.
Sleeping Beauty (1959): The animation style, the score...I would watch this every day when I was four years old and I still maintain that I had taste.
Edit: I was so proud of myself for remembering not only ten movies, but ten movies I enjoyed, I forgot to tag anyone so 1) oops and 2) @sophisticatedswifts @thievesandtraitors @flixls @taylaswift @chiara-swiftiedreamer13 @cmc-things

And even more!!
Tumblr media
Something something he’s calling a full grown elder man “impertinent boy”…
Tumblr media
… and pulling the “I am your father” card. Wow.
Also, I expected him to sound a lot more distant to Dylan than this. These years watching his baby self have softened Meridius a little
Like, not made him less evil or anything, clearly. But I think he is a bit more connected than he used to be in the Garden. Idk
Tumblr media
“Dylan… you are dying.” This was probably not said with concern or anything. But it doesn’t feel like he is glad like “yay this threat to my plans won’t last long”. It looks like he is maybe a bit shocked and he thinks Dylan should know it (that he doesn’t know it yet… maybe he thinks Dylan would have done something about it if he did?) without wanting to do anything about it himself
I don’t know how to explain. This panel has lived rent free in my brain since then
“Radiation from a time yet to come flows from Venom to Meridius.”
Oooh, now we are getting some more answers
Tumblr media
So this is it, this is the K-chemical. It is radiotive, probably a result to the nukes thrown in the future to destroy the sym-cyborgs which caused the apocalypse
“It moves around his being like poison in blood”
This is sure a word choice, huh
Remember how Liz and Flash and Red all reacted to it, when Liz and Flash held the weapon containing it and when Red was hit by it
This is probably the thing killing Dylan. But the symbiote is just fine being bonded with him. Not only that, they are keeping him alive. You see what this means?
Symby is immune to the K-chemical, or will become so!
Also, it’s possible that the K-chemical isn’t the radiation itself but the interaction between it and Dylan’s unique body. Which would make sense with how it’s described as feeling almost like it’s alive. We have seen the effects of radiation in symbiote genetic material before. I really think actual sentient K-chemical may be a thing next
Tumblr media
He’s so killing young Dylan. He is ready to die already. Killing his younger self will just make it quicker. Why though?
I am partial to the theory he is trying to get rid of the King in Black. He told Dylan to kill Eddie, now the title should go to Dylan. He shoots Dylan with his magical overpowered almost living bullets. Both of them die. No viable candidate for the next King in Black.
Those bullets were not for Meridius - old Dylan just barely remembered him, but he remembers the mission very well. They weren’t for Carnage either.
Because old Dylan used the time travel that does change the past, right? So the consequences of his actions are things that hadn’t happened in his own timeline. Meridius only got the K-chemical because he met old Dylan. The zombies, the experiments, all of those depend on the K-chemical. None of it happened in old Dylan’s original timeline. Which means there Cletus clone and Red never fought over Red’s ambitions that were awakened by experiencing the K-chemical themself and watching Meridius’ experiments. Which means Red wouldn’t be working with Meridius, and would probably not be interested in the finale of the Venom War
And this is probably a problem, the K-chemical made Meridius more powerful than they were in old Dylan’s memories, and his alliance with Red is a problem on its own, but none of it is what old Dylan wants to prevent. Those bullets are not for Meridius or Red.
I am certain they are for Dylan, and maybe Eddie too (depending if they have two bullets for two targets, or just in case he misses his only target)
Of course, both Dylan and Eddie are not gonna die for real, as we know where they will be in the next “era” (unless the Eddie in there is actually Meridius but our actual Eddie is not going to be gone long either anyway), and maybe the bullets aren’t even intended for killing in the first place and the whole “die” is just the narration being dramatic, as it does. But Dylan will get one
Honestly I think they will both be brought back by the Eventuality. No one asked 7.0 what he thinks of any of this, and I think he perhaps will not be happy with Eddie not being King in Black anymore considering his whole thing is that Eddie is fated to be the King in Black until the end of times. He also didn’t let Eddie and Dylan die before, so yeah I think he needs them both alive
(This is probably my last prediction of the year, please let me have gotten at least some of it right 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻)
And the main Venom comic
Man, this was a ride
Tumblr media
I was not expecting or ready to see Meridius meeting young Carl and Jamie. This! This is the first time Eddie met Jamie in any way!! The first time he had to chance to eat food made by her!
And it’s Meridius…
But really, he didn’t have to go there. He didn’t have to stay near. Is this… some sentimentalism?? From the man who looks at his past with such hatred???
Tumblr media
“Sure thing, buddy” is a top tier response to “we are Venom”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lol
Two things here:
First, wouldn’t Loki already know of symbiotes?? I get Strange not knowing since it all started on Earth when Peter brought Symby to Earth (though according to Symbiote Spider-Man he already knew of them before Peter found out about Symby being alive) but symbiotes don’t seem to be a secret in space. Plus, didn’t Thor participate in the original battle against Knull??
Is this just continuity issues or is it supposed to have meaning?
Second, you know, I have found this version of Symby that is with old Dylan kinda ooc when compared to Symby in the present. I can’t explain why, they just feel odd, I even thought they weren’t actually Symby. Of course, there’s the whole time travel, but still. But seeing this scene, this obvious movie parallel with “I am not a parasite” makes me think… it may be just the writing
Tumblr media
Loki is so annoying, I love characters who are annoying like this
Tumblr media
Why. What happened to you, Dylan??

Liz flicks through the Clone Wars for interactions between favourite disaster dad/brother and anger child and also maybe his ‘snippy?’ padawan
1-2
“Anakin, where are you?” said in the most long-suffering voice as obiwan holos anakin and ahsoka in their ship not following orders
1-3
“I hope you know what you’re doing, anakin” “Well, if I don’t, I won’t be around to hear the I told you so” “That’s reassuring...”
1-4
Subtly has never been one of your strong points, Anakin.
Everything I know, I learned from you, Master.
(why does obiwan keep saluting every time he runs from grevious)
You know we have GUNS. You can shoot back ANY TIME. -Anakin
(anakin still calling obiwan Master gives me life)
(also disaster gang really do call each other by Snips and Skyguy, huh)
1-5
“Still here, Anakin? When was the last time you slept?” (FUCK yes,, my favourite trope) [...] “Since then, he vanished.” “Well, unlike you, maybe he’s getting some much-needed rest” (the SASS. the CARE.)
1-6
“Suicide is not the jedi way, Master” asgfgdhkslfhsdalafl out of context that’s hysterical
(anyway none of these episodes are connected i have no idea what the fuck is happening or just happened at any point)
FINALLY some hurt/comfort. the classic “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” and blackout. nice.
awwwww ahsoshka trying to cheer up anakin and anakin just “you can’t replace r2″ i mean he’s right
Ahsoka has a green saber!! bless. love that.
1-7
Rex IS calling Ahsoka ‘Sir’. love it.
“Where’s R2 when i need him” awww ani
okay Grevious’ bodyguards are WAY harder to kill than that,, do you know how many times i have done that level in lego starwars,, I--
“Besides, R2 is more than a droid. He’s a friend.” 0,.0
1-11
ObiWan and Anakin their typical -anakin from the ceiling- anakin: oh it’s you obiwan: This is how you thank me for rescuing you? and THEN-- How am I supposed to become a jedi master if I’m getting caught all the time At least you’re a master of getting caught HYSTERICAL
it’s just Them on a mission. much love. i’m crey. they work so well together. “Why do I even try” that’s the obi wan exasperated abt his padawan that i know and love. crey.
BICKERING WHILE THEY CRASH LAND A SHIP. LOVE.
rock fall!! oh they’re fine. okay well the banter is pretty good and brief panic.
Anakin, when I tell you to run, Run. Master! You’re alive! And where is your lightsaber? It got knocked out of my hand. By a rock? Yeah. By a rock. You know what would be helpful? A little light. Certainly. -obiwans lightsaber doesn’t work- Silly thing. It was working just a minute ago. You don’t suppose it was hit... by a rock, do you? -obiwan dramatically points a finger and is abt to give his padawan a piece of his mind-
Anaking running away while Obwan is chill,, perfect. ObiWan helps at just the right time. they use the force together to put it down. PERFEDCT.
They get poison gassed and ahsoka rescues them and they just say it was fine I LOVE IT OH MY GOSH DISASTER TRIO
oh my gosh they knew the drinks were poisoned or whatever and switched them and they look so SMUG abt it--
okay write it down, 1-11 absolute favourite
1-12
okay never mind, they were drugged and wake up together caught. typical.
obiwan holding anger anakin back from yelling at count dooku. amazing.
“Do control your protege’s insolence so I can concentrate” “Anakin.” “WHAT” “Control your insolence. The count is concentrating” THE SASS
oh my gosh a very unusual trio. Dooku just like “I would kill you both rn if i didn’t have to drag your bodies” not bc they’re his enemies but bc of the banter and sass
getting electrocuted then immediately breaking each others bonds and fighting back. yes.
1-13
heck yes. anakin saving everyone and getting hurt himself? ahsoka going back for him? fuck yes. my shit.
so anakin does get hurt. badly. and WHY did i not find this on tumblr?? also,, ahsoka calling him anakin when he’s unconscious? fuck yes.
“I’ve certainly perfected the art of demolishing ships and getting my master killed” oh ahsoka you did so well dear one. she loves her master so much.
Rex does call ahsoka ‘kid’. i love.
the weak person just abt waking up and trying to get up bc danger and the one watching over him being worried and defending him? another favourite trope.
1-14
ooooo a straight up continuation. nice. anakin “you’re still too injured to move” oh the drama
an injury CONTINUING to impeded a character afterwards?? whoa. anakin rlly is the chosen one.
oooo stealth mission, this is exactly how i play a stealth thing like this!
LIGHTSABER GO WOOSH WOOSH BUZZ
1-15
snow time. pls let anakin complain abt the snow. someone get cold. pls. that’s all i ask. but either way, it’s anakin and obiwan mission time together again!
summary: that guy was dumb and i’m glad he died
1-16
anakin smashing several windows to get to obiwan in another tower. yes.
“How did YOU get over here” “I improvised”
1-17
“You seem a bit on edge” [...] “So yes, I’m a bit on edge!! Why aren’t you?” “I’m better at hiding it.” eyyyy
THEY WERE TALKING ON THE COMMS AND THEY JUST RAN INTO EACH OTHER IN A CROSS CORRIDOR and ahsoka just like “Master?”
disaster gang stop a virus and they’re all fine. ..good for them.. i gues.. just kidding, i love them
obiwan trying to calm anakin down abt padme and ahsoka but also knowing that anakin is rlly worried
“You just destroyed 17 defenseless battle driods without suffering a scratch” “18 actually”
1-18
“It was a trap Snips. It wasn’t your fault.” “Take heart, little one. That’s the reality of command” oh anakin you’re almost a good master
1-22
anakin gave his lightsaber to padme as a joke and now he’s trying to fight eithout it lol
he got shocked out and caught lol and padme is like hm can i show affection for an unconscious jedi without ppl thihnking hes my husband
“Please Ani. Wake up” wakes up like okay anyway let’s leave

PART ONE: OVER NOW
Your and Rex’s little home on Sorgan was everything you both had dreamed of. A life away from war and from the Jedi Order, away from the rules that prevented you from being together. The sun was bright and the life around your homestead was thriving. Birds sang and the river was sloshing along its way, sounds that relaxed Rex from the stress of the recent months. Just being here, listening to the quiet whistle of the breeze, brought him peace.
Rex was, and always will be, a soldier. So he was still in ties with Saw Gerrera and those forming a rebellion against the newly risen Empire. He was currently doing some work for it on the holopad in his lap. That side of him will never be left behind, but he was happy to have sanctuary as well as still be fighting for the Republic.
He looked up from his holopad to look over at you, his now wife. You were tending to your garden. Busying yourself with it was one of your favourite past times. Something about watching you work on it as well reminded Rex of how much you both would talk about the possibility of running away from the war and what a more simple life together could look like. It looked like this, he thought.
When it was time to part with Ahsoka, after many tears and long embraces, Rex had asked her to marry the two of you. She accepted with honour and made you husband and wife on the spot, making the little ceremony as simple but as special as she could. After that, you both were sad to separate from her but she wanted to move on her own path.
By the simple fact that you both were now married and that you could finally be together, there seemed to be a little more hope in the galaxy.
Rex had set up on the bench beside the garden to work through what he was tasked with to help the rebellion. You were picking the vegetables that were ready from your growing garden. And you looked up from your busyness to glance at Rex. He had this scrunched-up look on his face as he stared down at his holopad. Confusion and a touch of frustration that came off as comical. You suppressed a laugh, getting up from your seated position and bringing your basket of your harvest to walk towards your husband.
“What’s wrong?” You asked.
“Ran into a snag. I need some more information. Not sure where to find it.”
“I’m sure someone can direct you to what you’re looking for. Ask around Saw’s contacts. You’ll find something.” You reassured him.
Rex knew you were right and went right to work to message some of the people he knew with a nod.
“I’ll leave you to it.” You said, acknowledging his business and determined energy. “I’m going to forage for some berries in the forest later. I found another patch of bushes this morning, I can get some more to sell at the market for extra credits.”
“Sounds good, sweetheart,” Rex replied, still not looking up from his work as his fingers typed a message out. You rolled your eyes at him and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead before heading inside the house.
Rex already got a reply from someone with the information he needed. The file of the person he needed to find appeared on his screen, it was a wanted criminal file. He exhaled a tense breath. He was no bounty hunter, but he could maybe go looking himself. But he couldn’t go on his own, not with the now stronger stakes that his life held. He always needed to come back home to you.
So he needed some help. And he knew just the squad to call.
~~~
“We’re here!” Hunter called out once the ship came out of hyperspace.
Omega perked up before rushing down the ladder of her makeshift room. Her little footsteps clanged on the metal floor as she ran to the cockpit, eager to look out the ship’s window. She stretched up on her tippy toes to get a better view of the planet outside, and a soft gasp escaped her.
“That’s Sorgan? It’s beautiful!”
Tech came up behind her, “Sorgan is lush with a lot of foliage and animals. Perfect place for a homestead. There is also plenty of native villages as well as a few bigger towns.”
“Probably why they picked it,” Echo chimed in, “(Y/N) was always in love with planets like these. On missions, she would never shut up about how beautiful somewhere would be.”
“It’s so...green!” That’s all Omega could say, she was too excited to go explore and see what Sorgan had for her. It was also true, all you could see was just green.
“It sure is, isn’t it?” Hunter said, looking down at an enthusiastic Omega. He was so fond of how fascinated she was by everything around her. Seeing her be excited about things never got old.
Pretty soon, their ship was descending closer to the surface and following the coordinates that Rex had sent them. The more they travelled, the more there was. Trees and lakes and swamps and villages and endless seas of green.
Omega was trying to see everything but she was just a little short to see out the window completely. Wreaker noticed this and decided to help her. He picked her up and let her sit on one of his shoulders so she could see everything that was out there. She was grateful because now she could see into the vast forest of life.
“We’re getting closer,” said Tech, who was managing the navigation.
Hunter pointed, “That looks like the place,”
There was a clearing among the trees coming up tucked beside a river, and there was a house and a parked ship. As they got closer and ready to land, a figure came out of the house wearing white and blue clone armour with the helmet tucked under an arm.
“There's Rex!” Echo called out, a hint of joy in his voice.
Omega smiled and began waving out the window, hoping Rex could see her. Wreaker joined in the waving and so did Echo. Even with the distance still between them, they could see Rex give a little wave.
They parked the ship a little ways away from the house and Omega was dying to go outside. She was practically bouncing on the spot while waiting for the hanger door to open. Once it did, she stepped onto the grass and the breeze rushed past her. She breathed it in and it smelled so fresh and so clean, smelled of the trees and the grass.
She determined that it was her favourite smell in the galaxy.
“I love it here!” She exclaimed.
“Already? You just got here.” Hunter had come up behind her and put a hand on her shoulder.
“It’s so pretty. And it smells nice!” She smiled up at him.
The Bad Batch then made their way to meet up with Rex. The last time they had seen Rex was a few months ago when he helped them remove their inhibitor chips.
Hunter and Rex exchanged a brotherly handshake.
“Thanks for coming on short notice,” Rex said.
“We had some time. Bounty jobs are running dry right now.” Hunter replied.
“Well, I’ve got one for you,” Rex smirked.
Then someone else came out of the house, someone who Omega did not know. It was a woman dressed in a light set of robes that blew behind her in the wind. Her silhouette reminded Omega of something, but she could not place her finger on it at the moment. The figure came to join the group.
You were overjoyed to see the boys of squad 99 again. It had been forever since you had last seen them, and that had been before the war ended. And after greeting them all with a delighted smile, you dashed up to Echo and gave him the biggest hug.
“I’ve missed you so much, Echo. Thank The Force you’re all runaways,” You said, thrilled to see an old friend again.
“It’s been a long time, Master.” He replied, and after your hug, he gave you a salute with his artificial arm and droid probe.
You laughed and gave him a small one in return, “I’m no master anymore, ARC Trooper.” He chuckled at that.
“Master?” Omega burst out, then realization hit her and she understood what your flowing robes had reminded her of, “Oh! Were you a Jedi?”
You looked down at her and nodded warmly.
Rex put an arm around your shoulders, “Omega, this is (Y/N). She’s my wife.”
“Wife?” Echo said with a smirk, “I should have thought so.”
You laughed, remembering the time back during the war when Echo had caught you and Rex once after sneaking off together after a mission. The two of you had begged him to stay silent. He had, fearing for his life. You had thought your secret died with him when you lost him at the Citadel.
Omega looked up at you and gave you a happy little wave, “Nice to meet you.”
You were immediately in love with her. She was the most adorable thing you have ever seen.
“Took a page out of Cut’s book, I see,” Hunter commented, gesturing to the environment around them.
Rex shrugged, “We have, for most of the time anyways. I’m still in ties with rebels. Which is why I called you here.”
While Rex was talking to his brothers and started to brief them on his situation, a butterfly passed by and fluttered above Omega’s head. She looked up at it in awe. “What’s that?”
You smiled, “That’s a butterfly.” It continued to flutter around. You reached up a finger to it, calling to it in your mind and through The Force. It landed on your hand, its blue wings catching the light and making it looked like it sparkled. You dropped to your knees to Omega’s height so she could see better.
Omega gasped, “It’s so pretty.”
“It is, isn’t it.”
“I’ve never seen an animal like that before.” She was so curious it made your heart flutter, like the wings of the butterfly when it took off.
“Really?” You said, “So many pass by all the time. Sometimes they’re in groups, big ones. Lots in the garden, too.”
“You have a garden? I’d love to see it. Maybe we can see more butterflies!”
She was the cutest.
Tech was mumbling something about a tracker on their target, but you paid no attention. Neither did Omega it seemed. The two of you chatted, you telling her about the things you do on your homestead. She listened with dreamy eyes.
Hunter turned from the group to watch you both. He smiled, “I have an idea. (Y/N), is it alright if Omega stays with you for a while? I think she would like to learn more about the animals and plants.”
Rex looked over too and nodded, “She can help you with the garden and foraging. It would be good for her.”
“Really? I’d love to! Can I?”
You could not say no to her, “Of course, there’s lots of work to do around here.”
“I can do it!” She said with a bounce in her step.
“You sure you don’t want to help us catch the bounty guy?” Wrecker asked Omega with a bit of a sad tone in his voice.
“There’s plenty of time for things like that with us. Might be good to let her play around somewhere peaceful for a change. Let her be a kid for a bit.” Hunter replied.
From the way he looked at her, you could tell that Hunter was her father figure. So you told him, “I’ll take care of her for you. Teach her a few things, too.”
“I know she’ll be safe with you,” Hunter smiled at you, giving you a playful salute.
“Of course she will. Now, I’ll watch her and you boys take care of my husband for me,”
“Of course we will, (Y/N).” Echo laughed.
Tech interrupted the nice moment by saying, “I have connected to the bounty’s tracker. He is a few planets away. We could be back within a couple hours.”
“We should head out right away. Let’s get this bounty!”
“Oh yeah!!!” Wreaker ran right onto the ship while yelling. You noticed that he has not changed a bit.
Everyone rolled their eyes as the boys went to board The Havoc Marauder. But you stopped Rex by lightly grabbing his wrist and he turned back to look at you.
“Be careful out there, please.”
“Of course, cyar'ika. You don’t have anything to worry about. I’ll be back.”
You both always have this small conversation before he leaves for jobs for the rebels. And he always pulled you in for a hug and a quick kiss. He then joined his brothers again while you blew one final kiss to him.
“Bye!” Omega waved from beside you.
Rex and The Bad Batch got on the ship and took off, you and Omega still waving them off.
~~~
You had to get done a few tasks this afternoon, and Omega did not want to sit still. Your experience with children had been working with younglings during your time as a Jedi. You were honestly so happy to be in a position like that again, even though this time it would not be lessons on meditation or lightsaber combat or kyber crystal hunting.
The main job that you had for today was to gather food. Tasks included harvesting more from the garden, going into the nearby forest for berries, and fishing for krill in the river. You needed to eat and sell things for credits, so it was a common job for you. So you and Omega had gathered a few baskets and started with the garden.
She loved just looking at it and told you how beautiful it was. There were plenty of sprouting vegetables coming out of green stalks that Omega didn’t know the names of. But she wanted to know, and she wanted to taste them all too. The girl helped you pick all of the big and ripe ones and soon filled a basket with an array of purple, green, yellow, and red vegetables. You had taught her the names of everything, how you took care of them, and how surprised you had been that they had sprouted so fast.
Then after the two of you watered the soil after finishing with harvesting, you took her hand and made your way to the nearby forest. Basket in her hand, Omega admired the deeper greens of the trees and bushes that inhabited the forest. You lead her to the patches of berries you had found, picked a few, and handed her the handful to taste. It was like there were hearts in her eyes from how sweet and flavorful they were. Then the two of you got to work with picking. She had filled her basket quickly despite eating berries along the way.
After baskets of berries and vegetables were put into the house out of the sun, it was time to head to the riverside. The water ran slowly past the homestead and into the distance towards the forest. Omega looked down into it and could see little glimmers of silvery-blue swim by, and she was curious about what was below the surface.
With a net that had been stretched over a frame in your hands, you kneeled on the grass and said, “Okay, watch this.”
You dunked the net into the water and quickly swished it around before pulling it back out. Small, squirming crustaceans littered the net, their shells a flashy blue colour with beady black eyes. Omega smiled like she recognized what they were.
“We had krill on Kamino! We ate them all the time.”
“Really?” You dumped the caught krill into the basket, the first of many.
“Yeah! The entire planet is covered in water so we had plenty of seafood.” Something about the fact that Omega was getting a little taste of home here, even though she never wanted to step foot on that planet again, made her heart feel more full.
“They can be pretty tricky to catch. Wanna give it a try?”
Omega rolled up her sleeves and held the net in her hands. She could see the flashes of the krill in the water, so she tried to copy the movements you had done. She dunked it down, tried to trap something in her net, but she came up empty.
“Don’t worry, it does take a few tries to get used to it. You just need to practice.” You took the net back from her, “Watch me again. You kinda need to trap them and you have to be fast.”
You demonstrated again and came up with more krill, shaking from being out of water. After adding to the pile, Omega had the net once again. A sense of focus washed over her face as she prepared herself.
She dove in and came up with a catch. A much smaller one than yours but it was a start. “I did it!”
“Good job! That was very good! Keep practicing and you’ll be a pro.”
The two of you spent a while at the riverside fishing for krill. You had caught a good amount, enough for you to cook up for you and her as well as some for the boys for when they returned. Which was a lot, you knew how much clones could eat. Thankfully the river seemed stocked today.
~~~
After cooking up the krill and some of the vegetables, you and Omega were sitting outside in the grass under the sunshine. Rex had commed in and told you both that they had found the bounty and would be returning soon, so the two of you were just waiting for them. Sitting around a roaring fire pit, you both were munching on the vegetables and krill and some of the berries you picked as well, throwing the shells of the krill into the flames. You were telling her stories of your time of being a Jedi while she listened with attentive ears.
Omega looked so content just sitting there. Listening to your stories and eating what you had made her. The excitement in her eyes had never faded for a single second today, and it made you realize something. You had thought about it before but now you felt more strongly about it.
The idea of having a child. One you could teach about life and this beautiful planet and tell your stories to as you had to Omega. A curious little version of you following you around at the ankles. Starting a family on your beautiful homestead.
You and Rex had brought up the idea only once or twice. That was a while ago and you both were too caught up in how impossible it felt, how being a clone and a Jedi in the middle of war made it seem like it would never happen. Yes, there was fear that it might accidentally happen but you both were always careful. But you had said that if the circumstances were right, then you would love to have a child. And Rex had agreed.
But now that the circumstances were right, you were thinking about what he would say. It had been a few months since the war ended, but was it too early? Rex was often busy helping the rebels, so maybe now was not the right time.  Or maybe you were thinking about the subject too much.
A growing sound cutting through the sky snapped you out of your thoughts. Sure enough, it was The Havoc Marauder and everyone was back. Pretty soon, everyone was sitting around the fire while listening to Omega talk a mile a minute about what she did today. And you had listened to how their job went. They had caught the bounty and gotten the information Rex needed, deciding that the clone force would take their target to their connections to retrieve the reward. The afternoon evolved into casual chatter and eating as the sun began to dip towards the horizon. Stories were exchanged as you caught up with the Bad Batch and bonded with Omega more.
The calm and the happiness you felt from sitting around with all of them, on your new home planet safe away from war despite problems still happening in the galaxy, it made you realize that you were finally at a peace that was more valuable than any peace you had felt as a Jedi.
~~~
It was getting dark now on your home on Sorgan, and the Bad Batch had to leave now. Omega had a saddened look on her face, the light from the fire warming her face as she looked at you. She held back a little while her brothers stood up to get ready to head to the ship.
“Thank you for today, (Y/N). I had a great time,” She said, her voice sounding so grateful, but still laced with her sadness.
“You’re welcome, hon. You all are welcome here anytime.”
Hunter smiled, “Thank you for watching her.”
“Anything, anytime, Hunter.” You smiled back at him.
Hunter took out a pouch from a pocket and tossed it over to Rex, who caught it with ease. “For your troubles, Captain. We’ll be bringing the bounty to our contact for the reward. You should get a cut as well.”
Rex looked down at the pouch of credits before shaking his head and walking over to hand it back to Hunter, “We don’t need this. We’re thriving here, have enough credits and extra support from the rebels. Your squad is gonna need it more than we are.”
Hunter and Rex shook hands while exchanging a smile and Hunter took back the credits. “Stay out of trouble,”
“That’s what we said to each other last time,” Rex remarked, and they both laughed.
Rex looked over his shoulder and saw you and Omega in a long hug.
“Come back soon, okay?” You said to her, hands on her shoulders.
“Yes, ma’am!” She said with a giggle.
You reached over and grabbed a little basket that had those berries that the two of you had picked together. “You take these and share them with everyone later.”
“Thank you again, (Y/N).”
“I should be thanking you,” You insisted, “I enjoyed having you here.”
She gave you the most adorable smile.
“Come on, Omega,” Hunter said.
Omega went to join her brothers and you joined Rex. After one last wave to them you said, “May The Force be with you all,” You watched this light in the little girl’s eyes sparkle at your words and it warmed your heart. As they boarded their ship, you and Echo exchanged one last salute that made you feel nostalgic.
When they took off, you and Rex went inside after extinguishing the firepit.
Rex went into the bedroom to take off his armor and to change out of his blacks. But he left his helmet on the table as he went. After you tidied the kitchen a little, you found yourself the helmet it in your hands. Holding the cold material, you looked at the painted patterns and the tally marks. When Rex came back he saw this dreamy depression in your eyes while looking at it.
“You alright, sweetheart?”
“Never better,” you answered, “Just thinking, I miss the armour sometimes.”
Rex smiled. He only wore it now when going on missions for the rebels. It was an unconscious thing he did to put distance between your old lives and the new. It helped him to focus where his priorities lied now, but occasionally reminiscing about the past when he needed to pull it back on.
Other things clouded Rex’s mind. Earlier in the evening, he watched the way you and Omega had interacted. An instant bond that had formed, like you had been a teacher, like a mother. It made him think about what it would be like to have a child for yourselves.
Rex snaked his arms around you from behind while you still looked at his helmet. He wanted to say something about it. But his voice caught in his throat. He desperately tried to force something out.
“Um, cyar'ika? I wanted to ask you something.”
He felt your body slightly stiffen in his arms. His next movements were slow while he talked. He took his helmet from out of your hands. “Seeing you today. With Omega,” He placed the helmet back on the table and intertwined his fingers between yours. “It got me thinking,” He turned you around to face him. “There’s no rush, but,” He looked at you with genuine love and gentle seriousness. “When you’re ready, I’d like to have children.”
He watched your face soften before taking his face in your hands, holding his cheeks tenderly. “I’d love that,”
The thought of having a child was exhilarating and a little scary at the same time. There were small anxieties that were in the back of his brain, like if he would be a good father or not. Would he pass on his growth acceleration gene? What if something went wrong? He tried not to think about it anything like that. But knowing that you would be the mother of his children made it seem less scary.
“It would be a great life growing up in a place like this,” You said, a light in your expression that made Rex feel like he was the luckiest man in the galaxy.
“It would be.” Rex replied, leaving kisses on your palms and having them travel to your knuckles. “Just give me the word,”
“I’ll give it a thought,” You replied with a nod, “But I will absolutely start a family with you,”
Rex pulled you in for a soft kiss, one so gentle and intimate that made you only focus on him with no other thoughts interrupting you both.

A Star Wars New Years
This drabble is a little silly, I’m sorry I couldn’t resist. It’s inspired by the wonderful responses to my latest: GAME TIME!!! Hope you all like it. I’m tagging everybody that played the game or that has played the game in the past and showed a particular interest in a trooper. A majority of these situations are based on past GAME TIME answers.
Love you all and Happy New Year!
Who is Who: @captainrexisboo (Liz x Captain Rex) @din-dameron (DD x Fives) @just-some-girl-92 (Dell x Del) @cherry-cokes-world (Cher x Alpha-17) @nelba (Albane x Niner) @peacefulwizardfox (Johanna x Crosshair) and Me: haloangel391 (Claire x Ponds).
“They’ll be here!,” I stated again. Dell, Liz, and DD looked at me with slight irritation written across all of their faces at my overly optimistic attitude. To be fair their boyfriends were 2 hours late.
I had decided to throw a New Years Eve party for all of the new friends I made this year. We met through an online group chat, specifically designed to help those who were in a relationship with partners who traveled a lot. I don’t know if the company who made the chat room realized how many of its members are in an illegal relationship with half of the clone troopers in the GAR.
The party was a hit for the first hour that people were arriving, but as the second hour crept by half the party was getting antsy. The problem was the 501st. They were incredibly late and because they were dating half the attending party, their absence was extremely noticeable.
“How do you know that?” Dell states from beside me, her party hat slightly crooked atop her head. Liz and DD looked up at me as well from their plate of chocolate mousse.
“Because,” I stated simply, “if he doesn’t show up I know for a fact that Sev is going to kick his shebs”, a smirk making its way onto my lips as I take a sip of my beer, making her laugh.
 “Sev wouldn’t do that,” Dell remarked, making me raise my eyebrows in disbelief.
I heard a soft chuckle and we all turned to see Niner across the room where he was eating some of my famous casserole with Albane, “Yes he would,” he stated with a smirk, “you’re like his little sister, he’d definitely kick his ass if he doesn’t show up tonight.”
Dell’s eyes widened in slight horror, “What?!”
“But he’s not going to because he’ll be here! Besides you two literally have the same name, you were meant for each other, I’m sure they just got held up in traffic or something” I state trying to calm the situation down a bit.
As if on cue, someone knocked on the door, Ponds and I made eye contact from across the room, a silent conversation going between us, if this wasn’t the boys in blue they were going to be in deep bantha fodder.
Ponds opened the door and sighed in relief, “where have you all been?” he questioned as he held the door open for the three troopers to come in. Fives, Rex and Del all came through the door. Fives eyes search the room until they finally land on DD. His eyes light up as he goes over to them and wastes no time in sweeping them up into a bone crushing hug and giving them a searing kiss on the lips. I stepped back a bit, slightly uncomfortable by just how enthusiastic Fives was being.
“Hey Reg,” Crosshair called from the couch where he had his arm wrapped around Johanna, “the kissing isn’t supposed to be until midnight.”
Lips never leaving DD’s, Fives simply flipped Crosshair the finger from its place on DD’s waist.
“Sorry we’re late,” I heard Rex say as Liz made her way over to him, “Skywalker,” is all he said.
“Was there a meeting?” Liz questioned from beside him, before giving him a sweet peck on the cheek, they were truly adorable.
Rex threw his arm around her shoulder and sighed, “no he just --”
“-- wouldn’t stop talking!” Fives exclaimed, interrupting the Captain. “He was giving the longest toast I’ve ever heard in my life, pretty sure he was drunk.”
I giggle slightly at that, trying to imagine the great General Skywalker drunk off his ass and loudly toasting to the whole 501st.
Everyone started to gather in the living room in front of the holo to watch the performances leading up to the new year, the fireworks display truly was something spectacular. I jump slightly as I felt a pair of arms come around my waist, giggling when I realized it was only Ponds.
“Hi,” I laughed, turning my head slightly to give him a sweet kiss on the cheek, “what are you up to?” I question.
“Oh nothing major, just checking on my beautiful girlfriend.” he mumbled into my ear, making me flush bright crimson, I swat his shoulder playfully earning a laugh from him.
“Did you see what Del brought?” he asked, making me frown slightly,  “no, I didn’t.” I search the room with my eyes where I now see Dell sitting with Del. She has a beautiful bouquet of flowers sitting in her lap, a shy smile on her face as Del puts some of the flowers in her braid. Maker they’re cute together.
“Huh, smart man,” I say with a smile. I glance at the whole party and take in the new friends I made this year.
Albane was now sitting on a loveseat with Niner, she had told me earlier that she hoped to share her first kiss with him tonight, I was rooting for her in my head.
Alpha-17 was lurking in the corner of the living room staring at Cher with so much longing in his eyes it hurt my heart, why he had yet to profess his love to them was beyond me. It was obvious to all but the two that they were madly in love with each other. If there’s another mistletoe incident and he doesn’t kiss them again tonight, I’m gonna slap him across the head.
Crosshair and Johanna have disappeared from the group, I start to panic slightly until I remembered that I locked all of the bedroom doors, a lesson I learned when we all went to Liz’s house for the Life Day party. We all laugh about it now, all except for Rex.
I glance over at DD and Fives, his lips finally unattached from their face, DD is sitting comfortably on his lap watching someone sing on the holo. Fives is looking at DD like they are the most beautiful star in the galaxy.
Liz and Rex are standing behind the couch, his arm still slung around her with her head on his shoulder and her hand on his chest. In this light I can clearly see her beautiful blue engagement ring glittering on her hand.
My eyes snap back to Fives as I hear him shouting that the countdown has begun. Everyone starts counting down, “20, 19, 18, 17…”
I glance around the room again and can’t help but smile. This year has been tough, there was no denying that. But as I saw everybody crowded around the holo and chanting the countdown, I realized just how lucky I was. I made some incredible good friends this year.
“... 3, 2, 1! Happy New Year!”
I sighed happily and turned around, still in Ponds arms and kissed him, the chaos around me becoming muted as I got lost in his warm lips.
I pull away and look up into his eyes and smile, “Happy New Year,” I say softly, cupping his cheek. He smiled at me and held my hand to his face, “Happy New Year,” he whispered back.
I hear a loud cheer from behind me and turn around in time to see Alpha-17 cupping Cher’s face and giving them a kiss with a softness I didn’t know the ARC could muster. Next to them Albane gives Niner a shy kiss on the lips, his eyes widen in surprise, but he’s quick to pull her closer to him, deepening the kiss.
Crosshair and Johanna make an appearance behind them, Johanna’s hair in a slight state of disarray and Crosshair’s lips are painted a beautiful shade of red, the red I believe Johanna was wearing at the beginning of the night.
I laugh at all of my friend’s antics, happy that I met such incredible people.
Maybe this year wasn’t too bad after all.
END.

End Of Year Fic-Writer ask meme: What’s your favourite piece of dialogue you wrote this year?
Oh, that’s tough... I know it’s expected of writers to hate their own work, but I’m actually proud of most of mine. I wouldn’t have posted it otherwise.
Okay, top 3 in no particular order:
M*A*S*H - Shaking Hands
 B.J. let out a sigh.  He walked over to the other doctor and placed a hand on his shoulder.
  “C’mon Hawk, there’s nothing more you can do.”
  “Like I actually did anything,” he mumbled, darkly.
  “Pierce. She’s okay.”
  “No she’s not.”  Bile rose in this throat.  His fist tightened and all his anger and fear started bubbling to the surface.
  “Liz is lying in a hospital bed unconscious in some nowhere spot in Korea surrounded by dysentery and bullets. And for what? For helping? For trying to do her job? For saving lives and that’s what she gets?” He ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head. “It’s what Henry got. It’s what Tommy got.  Only makes sense right? Why did she have to go out there?”
  “Like you said, it’s her job.”
  “Yeah, her job,” he dismissed. “She should be starting a practice safe and sound in Philadelphia.  Instead she’s here.  You know why?”
  “No, why?”
  “Because she’s an idiot.  Because she’s so convinced she doesn’t have a chance back home, that she’s willing to risk her life here for just the opportunity to be the surgeon she’s trained to be.  How stupid can you be?”
  “Pretty stupid.”
  “It’s worse than that! She’s brave too.  Brave and stupid and selfless and beautiful; it’s a deadly combination, you know.”
  He didn’t know when he had gotten up, but he couldn’t stop pacing or talking.  Everything he had wanted to say all day coming out in a flurry of words and curses.  He shook his head.
  “Not me though.  I’m smart and a coward.  You wouldn’t catch me going out there unless I was forced to. And even if I was I’d be useless.”
  “What makes you say that?”
  “I froze.  I wasn’t even under fire.  I just saw her shot and bleeding and I couldn’t think.  I just stood there.”  He took a breath letting the truth of his words collapse on top of him as he finally said them out loud.
  “Liz was dying.  She could have died.  And I did nothing, hands shaking and useless.”  He looked down, feeling the familiar warmth of tears coming down his face as he gave a hollow laugh.  “My hands are still shaking. Why are my hands still shaking?”
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - The Ambassador: Part 1
  You gave a short laugh before playfully nudging him in the side. “Don’t worry Captain, I won’t let anything happen to you.”
  “It’s not me I’m worried about it.”
  You paused, the teasing expression fading.
  His gut twisted; had he said that out loud? He didn’t so much as breath as he watched your face for some kind of reaction.
  To his surprise, your gaze softened and your lips turned into an understanding smile.
 “I know,” you said.  You placed a hand on his arm.  Even through his armor, he could swear he could feel the heat of your skin.
  “But, I can take care of myself.  Believe it or no, I’ve been at this for a while.  You don’t have to worry about me.”
  Your look was so earnest, it made what he wanted to say that much easier.
  “With all do respect sir, I think I will anyway.”
Star Wars: Thrawn Trilogy - Until We Meet Again, Chapter 2: A Study in Allies
I’m going to cheat and say all if it.  I really think it might be some of my best work in terms of in character dialogue for Thrawn.

Little Green Man (Malex ficlet)
For Malex Week Day 4 - prompts: baby can I hold you / make the thing you’ve always wanted to make for Malex - both work! Summary: When Michael reverts to a larval form, only Alex has his trust. (Crack!fic but canon compliant because ALIENS!) [AO3]
-----------------------------
“Let me get this straight…” Alex says, brows furrowing, “Max’s evil clone shoved Michael in a pod and did something that made Michael turn into a literal little green alien…”
“Right. But we think we know how to reverse it,” Liz assures him.
“Okay, you know I can roll with the weird alien shit but that doesn’t make any sense.” Alex shakes his head.
“Jones says that it’s like a larval stage for the aliens,” Max explains. “He made Michael revert back to it by some mechanism of the pod.”
“Gross,” Isobel says, shuddering and sticking her tongue out.
“I don’t know, I just caught a glimpse, but I thought he was pretty cute. Those big ears, big eyes,” Maria says.
“That’s true,” Isobel says, “But there is no way I started out looking like that.”
“So where is he?” Alex’s eyes dart around the room.
“Somewhere in the house, we hope,” Isobel says, “He was passed out when Max and I found him in the cave. When he woke up here he wandered off, but we’ve been watching the exits.”
“We’ve seen him but we’re having trouble catching him,” Kyle admits.
“Why? Is he really quick, or…?” Alex asks.
“No… actually he kind of waddles. But he’s tiny and he has his powers!” Liz explains. “He tried to choke Kyle.”
“Yeah, like on Star Trek!” Kyle exclaims.
Alex looks disgusted. “Force choke is Star Wars!”
Max claps his hands. “Okay, we really need to go back to looking for him. He’s just a baby and he’s scared.”
They fan out through Isobel’s house again, Alex now having joined the mix.
A few minutes later, Alex is sweeping the perimeter of Isobel’s guest bedroom when he feels a tug on his arm. But there’s no one there.
“Hello?” Alex calls out softly, freezing in place.
Another tug. Playing attention this time, Alex starts walking in the direction of the pull. His eyes settle on a trunk in the corner, angled against the wall.
As he approaches, the tip of a green ear pokes out from behind the trunk. Alex freezes. More of the ear emerges, and then, a little green face with two huge dark eyes.
Tumblr media
“Hi,” Alex says in a cooey baby voice, despite himself. “Hi little guy.”
When Michael doesn’t retreat, Alex moves a fraction closer.
“It’s okay, I’m a friend. Can you come out from behind there?” Alex coaxes.
Michael makes a squeaky clicking noise.
“Oh my god you are the most adorable thing I have ever seen.” Alex can’t help himself.
Michael doesn’t respond.
Alex tries to stay composed. “Can you even understand me?” he asks.
An inquisitive look plays across Michael’s face, some spark of recognition.
“Okay, I’m just going to sit down right here and maybe you can toddle over when you’re ready?” Alex suggests as he slowly lowers himself to the ground and leans propped up against the wall.
After a minute of Alex sitting calmly, Michael emerges fully. They watch each other.
“What on earth does Isobel have you wearing?” Alex wonders outloud.
Michael finally seems satisfied and waddles over. He raises his arms in an up motion, smiling and clicking his tongue.
“You want me to pick you up?” Alex asks.
When Michael repeats the motion, Alex tentatively reaches over and lifts Michael into his lap, with some difficulty.
“You’re a little heavier than you look, buddy,” Alex chuckles. He’s not sure now if he can stand up with his leg, while holding the small green bundle who is quickly making himself comfortable, burying his face into Alex’s chest.
“Maybe we can just wait here until someone finds us,” Alex says, putting one arm around Michael, and petting his ears with his free hand.
It’s not long before Max and Isobel appear in the doorway and spot Alex on the floor cradling Michael like a baby.
“How did Alex manage--” Isobel starts.
“He’s special, Iz, you know that,” Max says.
“I know,” she says, softening. “We definitely need to get a picture of this.”
“Oh yeah,” Max agrees. “Wedding slideshow.”
“I was thinking for blackmail purposes, but that’s nice too.”
--------------------------------
I have long had this idea in my head that baby yoda and Michael have a lot in common, both having TK and both being or having been 50 year old babies.

The Ruined King, Chapter 10
Tumblr media
Pairing: Felix x Liz
Summary: Hawkeye is once again moving through Gedonelune, and it looks like their aim is on the heart of the Dragonkin Ruins. It looks like we’ll need the help of the three Reciters to solve this mystery!
Previous: Chapter 9
First: Chapter 1
Caesar sighed as we settled down in the train. "Once again, we're coming to a beautiful resort on a mission. Why can't we ever come here for fun?”
"We used to come here all the time when we were younger," Alfonse said. "Klaus and Albert used to chase each other around the pool."
"I know!" Zeus proclaimed. “I'll tell you what, when the summer comes again, I'll take all of you to the resort for fun!" He looked at the three Reciters. "That includes the three of you!"
"Huh? You're inviting us?"
"Of course! You're part of the family now, aren't you?"
“That reminds me, I brought cookies for everyone!" I had made sure to make a lot for the trip. "Here, there's enough for everyone." As I passed out the little bags of cookies, I noticed Willem giving Felix a strange look, nudging him.
"I.. made cookies for the trip as well." Felix took out a small bag. "I asked Willem to help me make them. Someone told me it was a good way to bond."
Zeus didn't even hesitate, immediately holding out his hand. “Let me try!”
"Don't take all of them!" Caesar protested.
“I'd like to try one, Felix.” Felix handed me a cookie, and I took a bite. “This is delicious!”
"Thank you." The others quickly scrambled to take cookies for themselves; there was just enough for everyone. I even noticed Felix take a smaller one and giving it to Shu. "Wow, these are amazing!"
"..Thank you." Even if he didn't say it, I could tell he was happy.
By the time that we arrived at the gates of Veda, it was getting dark outside.
"What brings you here? We don't usually get so many guests at once."
'Will they notice Felix or Willem?' But the guards didn't even spare them a second glance, since they were in their casual outfits.
“We've been asked to investigate the mines of Veda,” Hugo said, handing a note to the guards. Luckily, when we explained the situation to Shezarade, she'd given us permission.
The guard scanned the note and handed it back. “Enjoy your stay."
We brushed past the gates, Felix letting out a sigh of relief.
"It's getting dark out," he said. "We should go to our rooms for now and then reconvene in the.." He stopped in his tracks, his expression turning cold. Willem and Lacan followed his gaze, their expressions growing stern. He stopped, hiding in the shadows of a pillar.
"What's going on..?" I looked over, and a once familiar man chatting with the guards.
"Liz," Felix said, "the last time I saw that man, it was when he sealed me away."
Oh.
'Schmidt.' The Wizard of Old. The last time I had been here, he had helped us. The last time I had been here, Felix had been our enemy. How times had changed since then.
"We should find another around," Willem said; Felix quickly pulled me away.
'I hope this doesn't cause any trouble..'
When I left the room that night, I found Felix waiting, gazing up at the sky.
"Couldn't sleep?"
I shook my head. "I thought I'd go for a stroll along the water.” My mind had been running wild with thoughts of how the visit would go. “Care to join me?"
As we walked, the water seemed to glow in the moonlight. And I heard familiar laughter ringing  from the direction of the pools.
Walking over, we saw Willem and Lacan splashing in the pools together, Willem kicking water at Lacan.
"Ah, this feels so refreshing!" Lacan said. "Doesn't it remind you of the springs in the castle?"
"Huh? I don't think we ever saw those," I said as I came over.
"There was a lot more to the castle than what you saw," Felix said, taking a seat on the edge of the pool. "I think that you would have liked them. There were all sorts of magical creatures that would swim in the water with us.”
I couldn't help but laugh. "That sounds like so much fun!"
"At least until Willem would come along and drag us from the water," Lacan said with a laugh.
"I wasn't that bad! Besides, you would have stayed in all day and gotten terrible sunburns if I hadn't."
"Light is my element! I would have been fine. Felix, on the other hand.." Felix splashed water in his face for that one.
"Maybe someday, we can.." Felix had a wistful look on his face, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. He shook his head.
I wanted to ask, but I had a feel this was something he'd tell me when he was ready. So for now, I sat next to him, dipping my feet in the water. “You said there were lots of magical creatures in the waters?” He nodded. “Will you tell me about them?”
It felt like we talked for hours. But, when I got back to my room, I saw a familiar face waiting outside my door.
"Schmidt! What are you doing here?"
His smile was sugary sweet. "I wanted to come by and pay a visit, when I heard you were staying here. But when I saw you with that man.." His eyes darkened. "I never thought I'd see the day Felix would turn your heart."
"Schmidt," I raised my chin as I faced him, "is it true that you were the one who sealed them away?" I remembered he had said something about them using his magic.
"My brethren and I did what we had to do," he said smoothly, that sickeningly sweet smile never leaving his lips. "They created terrible monsters, monsters that would have brought this world to ruin if we hadn't stopped them."
"They told me about the war." The words came pouring out of me before I could stop them. "They told me about everything that happened to them, about everything that you took from them..!"
His gaze flickered. "I just want to watch out for you. I'd hate to see you get hurt by them, like they did before."
'Why can't I speak?' There was so much I wanted to say, so much I wanted to scream at him, but the words wouldn't come when I faced him.
"Things are different now," I managed to get out. "Felix and Willem.. They are our friends now. Felix saved my life!"
"A Dragonkin never changes, my dear. But it appears you have.”
He left me alone, but I found that I had a lot to think about that night, wishing that I could find the words to defend the ones I treasured.
We set out early the next morning. But I couldn't shake the strange feeling even as we approached the waterfall that had once served as Felix's base.
'Why do I get the feeling that someone is watching us?'
"This should be the quickest way to the last ruin," Felix said.
"How are we supposed to get through there?" Caesar asked. "Just walk through the water?"
"Well, this is a disappointing sight. To see that so many would fall to the Dragonkin.." My blood ran cold as I heard the familiar voice. I spun around to see Schmidt stepping out of the shadows, followed by people I didn't know.
'Don't tell me..' A chill ran down my spine. 'Are those the other Wizards of Old?'
"You followed us all the way here?!"
“Something needed to be done,” Schmidt said, walking over. Felix, Willem, and Lacan bristled behind me. “I couldn't stand back and let you hurt all these innocent people.”
“I won't let you hurt them!” I screamed, grabbing my wand.
"My dear, why are you still defending them? Are you forgetting about the trouble that they caused here before? You have seen the darkness in their hearts."
"And whose fault was that?!" I roared. "You are the one who took everything from them! That darkness was formed by the pain that you brought to them!"
With every word, I could feel something rising in me; the water churned behind me, lashing at us. I could hear their voices crying out, but all I could see was the man in front of me, the man stepping back in fear.
"This power..!"
"How long did they reach out to you? How long did they  try to help you even when you hurt them? Until you were done, until you left them in the dark to rot! The only one here with a heart of darkness is you!"
Felix grabbed my hand. "We need to go," he said. I turned, and my heart almost stopped at the churning waves. "Let's go!"
"After them!"
We ran into the water- until the voices disappeared beyond the lashing waves.
"What was that?"
I let out a gasping breath as we stepped into the cavern, the raging waves closing behind us.
"The Goddess Crystal must have been resonating with Liz's emotions and affecting the waterfall," Willem said. "It should make it more difficult for Schmidt and his guards to come after us for a while."
Strong arms pulled me against a chest, and I instinctively knew it was Felix. My heart raced in his embrace. "Thank you, Liz, for defending me."
"Of course, I meant every word of it." I felt him press his face against my shoulder.
"Coming from you.."
"I know that your heart has changed. Because now you're.." The words caught in my throat. I couldn't just blurt out how I felt about him. "I.. I don't intend to let Schmidt hurt you. Or any of you." Willem and Lacan gave me grateful looks.
"We're not going to stand by and let them hurt you either!" Zeus roared. The others nodded.
"You're our friends now," Lucious said. "We don't let anyone hurt our friends." The others let out a cheer of agreement.
"Thank you."
Willem stood up a little straighter. "We should keep going," he said firmly. "We still don't know if Hawkeye is in this cave. Or if Schmidt is going to send anyone else after us."
As we stepped through the cavern, we came to the chamber full of water, though the tubes were now empty.
"This place still gives me the creeps.." Zeus muttered, avoiding the tanks of water.
"Everyone, get away from the doors. I'll spread miasma behind us; that ought to throw anyone off our trail for a little while."
We all took a good few steps away from the door, but, even still, my eyes watered at the miasma. 'His power is so strong!'
“There, we should be safe for a while. Now all that's left is to head into the ruin.” Felix snapped his fingers, changing back into his normal clothes; Willem followed suit.
And a thought occurred to me as I studied the cloning tubes. I remembered facing the clones before- so perfect, I couldn't tell which ones were real and which one were fake.
“Felix, you.. made the shadows that went into the clones, didn't you?” I remembered how he had been able to recall them easily.
“I did.”
“Do you think you could recreate those? Does the machine still work?”
Felix hesitantly glanced at them. “I think it should be able to work.” He paused for a moment. “..What are you planning?”
We had no idea how many members of Hawkeye were still out there, if they were following us, or where they may be. They would use tricks and schemes to get past us. But perhaps this would be a way to settle the score.
The others looked at me curiously. "What are you thinking?"
I smiled. "I think.. it's time we played a trick on Hawkeye."
Caesar: Why do I get the feeling that we're going to be the ones who get cloned..
Alfonse: I'm sure that this is going to be fine. Liz has a plan for what to do, doesn't she?
Caesar: I hope so. I mean, I'll do it, if it's what it takes to stop Hawkeye. As long as those clones don't linger around too much.
Alfonse: Let's hope..
Caesar: Next time, Into the Dark.

ahsoka tano for the headcanons
Liz hi!!!! Always wonderful to see you here!!!!! (ask meme here). Let’s do my girl Snips!
AHSOKA TANO
1: sexuality headcanon
Lesbian, demisexual. She just be!
2: otp
I really, REALLY love Kaesoka, E.K. Johnston did an amazing job with their dynamic in the book and I love them so much.
I also love Barrissoka (tragic, whYYYY), Tracesoka is adorable and I’d like to see more of and Riyosoka is super cute!!!!
3: brotp
SNIPS AND SKYGUY ALL THE WAY. WAIT NO NO NO ALSO AHSOKA AND REX OH NO I CAN’T CHOSE HELP. BOTH. (ACTUALLY REX BEATS ANAKIN CURRENTLY BECAUSE ONE OF THEM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ANGST OF TODAY’S TCW EPISODE AND HE KNOWS WHO HE IS THE DUMBASS). BOTH is good tho. I also love Ahsoka with Obi Wan and I wanna see more of them >:( you hear me Kenobi show??? Also the Padmé and Ahsoka mentorship is a blessing and I love that too, she needs a role model like Padmé in her life
4: notp
*inhales* Ok I’ll save y’all a rant. While I like most characters in the Star Wars saga, Lux Bonteri is not one of those people. I do not like his punk ass and I dislike him with Ahsoka even more. Again, sorry if you do, this is just me not vibing. I don’t like Ahsoka with any guy, actually, since I see her as a lesbian.
5: first headcanon that pops into my head
Angsty one coming up with new TCW spoilers inbound. Ahsoka learned Mando’a from all the clones, growing up with them like she did. Her accent perfectly matches their dialect, she can understand and speak it perfectly. The first time she sees death is at fourteen when a guy gets literally blown away directly next to her. She doesn’t even have time to register it before Anakin is yanking her along because this is war and she doesn’t have time to adjust. She still dreams about it sometimes. At the end of that battle, what resonates with her is standing next to Rex while some of the other brothers retrieve the dead off the battlefield and prepare them for burial; they can’t take the bodies with them because there’s no room so they’ll be buried on planet. They start saying the Mando funeral prayer and giving them the final rites, and she doesn’t understand. Rex sees her confusion, and despite their kinda rocky, snippy start, puts a gentle hand on her shoulders and explains the words they speak and what they mean in their culture
Later, after Order 66 when Ahsoka and Rex go down to their crashed Star Destroyer and dig out Jesse’s body and so many others, Rex is sort of falling apart. The bodies need the rites and the traditional Mando’a words, but he doesn’t know, he can’t—
Ahsoka takes over for him, remembering the words by heart after three and a half years, and trained by now to have a Jedi’s stoicness. She says the rites, makes the preparations, as they bury the remains of what they once were
6: one way in which I relate to this character
Again, she’s WAY cooler than me. I guess also because she loves and defends Anakin when he doesn’t deserve it lol. But also, we both can be indecisive because we’re trying to see all the angles and do what we can to help everyone, even if we end up missing the bigger picture sometimes.
7: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character
Hmmm, most of her first and second season goofs when she screwed up and got in trouble and needed to learn a lesson, I always get secondhand embarrassment from characters getting scolded by authority figures bleh.
ALSO her role in the Kadavo arc, as I mentioned, I feel secondhand embarrassment and don’t really like any character storylines from that arc, so hers is included in that. Also when she has to be one of the serving girls when Lux gets her in trouble with Death Watch, really any scenes she’s in with Lux cuz honey nooooo xD
8: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?
She’s a cinnamon roll babey!!! Again, not perfect, but no Star Wars character is. She’s brave and resilient and a hero who saves people!!! I love her Very Much

Not Even That Hard
Summary: When you're the Chosen One it is only natural for things to come easily.
Links: Ao3 and FF.net
Author’s Note: Warnings for use of second person because sometimes a story pops into your head fully-formed and you have enough time to write it down or to convince your brain it should be in third person but not both. Also, warning for the double entendre inherent in this title/the recurring phrase throughout this story; it crossed my mind way too late and I’m not changing it.
Dedicated to Liz/@bpdanakins who has spoken with me about so much Star Wars stuff and who also loves seeing Anakin get to be incredibly overpowered. Here’s a story where Anakin gets to be as overpowered as I could make him at 1:30 AM.
It wouldn’t even be that hard.
When you reflect back years later, that’s the first thing you can remember thinking. The memory is fuzzy and you’re not sure how old you are (4? 5?), but you very clearly remember seeing Watto and your mother trying to piece together some broken droid that has been causing him grief for the past hour at least. You can see exactly which pieces are supposed to go where and which wires are crucial and which can be cut and tossed aside. It would only take you a few minutes to have it back together and working better than it had before. You couldn’t explain how you knew that or why it felt so important that you fix this particular droid, but it did. So you got up, singled out the piece that would fit perfectly with the one Watto was currently holding, and went over to your master with the appropriate tool. The droid was fixed in just under 16 minutes. Watto let you and your mother leave a few minutes early that day and she treated you to a ruby bliel. You didn’t know that your mechanical skills would make you valuable to Watto for years to come or that fixing that droid had saved you from being sold off and separated from your mother. All you knew then and ever would, is that fixing droids wasn’t even that hard.
****************************************************************************************************
“It wouldn’t even be that hard.”
After all, podracing was just flying but faster and the couple of times your mother had let you pilot Watto’s speeder had gone without a single crash. Surely podracing would come just as easily as those short trips around Mos Espa had been. After declaring that surely you could win a podrace, you could tell from your mother’s face you had said something wrong and from Watto’s that you had said something incredibly right. Your heart clenched for a moment because surely nothing good was coming when Mom made that face (admittedly, it would be better than what followed Watto’s disapproving face), but then the winning pod came around the final bend and crossed the finish line and your heart soared and you were filled with the certainty that podracing would not be that hard at all.
****************************************************************************************************
It wouldn’t even have been that hard if it weren’t for the blasted autopilot, you thought as you hopped out of the yellow cockpit, ready to celebrate with the other overjoyed, if confused, Naboo pilots. Surely the professional pilots would have figured it out sooner or later. After all, you are only 9, almost 10, and had never been in one of those ships before and you had pulled it off. It would be crazy if they hadn’t been able to do it. But then you see Obi-Wan and he looks sad and Qui-Gon is nowhere to be found and something in you screams that now isn’t the time to say how not hard blowing up the Trade Federation’s ship had been.
****************************************************************************************************
“It wouldn’t even be that hard, Obi-Wan. Why don’t they just speed up?” Obi-Wan gives you a mixture of a confused and reproachful look, one you know means that he will have follow-up questions for you once you are out of earshot of the other padawans and their masters but that until then you need to stop saying such rude things.
Just as you had expected, the second you and Obi-Wan round the corner and can no longer see or be seen by the older padawans, Obi-Wan asks, “What do you mean, Padawan?”
“Well, their masters are telling them to double the speed of their lightsaber drills, but all of them start making easy mistakes once they speed up. Why are they making the mistakes? It’s easy to do those forms.” You don’t mean to sound prideful (Obi-Wan always reminds you that pride is not the Jedi way and you’re really trying to be a good Jedi), but you’ve sped up your own drills to four times the speed they were taught to you and you’ve managed to avoid making the same obvious mistakes that those much older padawans are making. Why couldn’t those beings just… not mess up?
Obi-Wan seems even more confused now that you’ve tried to explain your previous comment, but that doesn’t stop him from starting in on a lecture about pride and patience and how mastery takes time. You ignore most of it in favor of slowly moving back into a position where you can watch the padawans who keep making mistakes even though you know deep within your heart that surely it isn’t that hard.
****************************************************************************************************
This isn’t that hard, you think as you look around you at the ship that is hurtling towards the planet below you. You’ve flown plenty of ships and been in quite a few crashes and keeping this particular ship from crashing should not be that difficult, even if it is more or less falling apart with each passing second. You look to your unconscious master in the seat next to you and the scared orphans behind you and then to the controls in front of you and despite the despair that you feel within the Force, you find that all you feel is confidence. This ship may be about to crash, but stopping it from doing so won’t be that hard.
****************************************************************************************************
This is incredibly hard, you think as you try and try and try and keep trying to not kiss Senator Padmé Amidala. This is so incredibly hard.
****************************************************************************************************
This won’t even be that hard. This won’t even be that hard. This won’t even be that hard. Your inner mantra as you lead your own legion into battle is at odds with everything else around you. Inside you know that you can easily weather the battle that is about to ensue, but you are equally certain that some of your men, perhaps many of them, will not. Christophsis is shaping up to not be an easy planet to take and the Force is practically screaming at you to prepare yourself for something big when Cody runs up beside you and points out the droids rounding the corner, ready for another round of battle. “They’re back!”, you call out to your master, already preparing to make a snarky comment about how you hadn’t wanted to send the ship back for supplies, all the while keeping up your refrain of ‘this won’t even be that hard’s in your head.
****************************************************************************************************
“It won’t even be that hard, Snips. I promise.” You don’t have to turn around to see Ahsoka to know that she is shooting you her patented annoyed look that has become so characteristic of her despite how little time you two have spent together so far. You know that Balmorra Run is supposedly one of the more difficult runs a pilot can attempt, what with the Neebray mantas and all, but you’re Anakin Skywalker and surely it won’t be that hard. After all, you’ve never met a pilot who wasn’t at least passingly familiar with over exaggerating their flying prowess and you’re a Jedi Knight and have the Force to guide you and your men through. Surely it won’t be that hard.
****************************************************************************************************
You thought ending the war would have been so much harder than it is turning out to be. Of course the operation on the Invisible Hand hasn’t been without its issues and you know killing Dooku was not the Jedi way, but if his death was necessary to bring about an end to the war, it will have been worth it. But even your concerns about Dooku are drowned out by the confidence that is coursing through your veins just as surely as your blood does as you, Obi-Wan, and Palpatine race back towards your rendevouz with Artoo. Soon the four of you will be together and will be able to defeat Grievous, get off this ship, and end the Clone War. Your final thought before you are trapped within ray shields is this: Turns out it’s not even that hard to end a war.
****************************************************************************************************
It wouldn’t even be that hard.
You know exactly where and how you would strike to stop the lightning leaving Palpatine’s fingers and electrocuting Windu. You can think of half a dozen ways that would incapacitate, but not kill, your mentor and exponentially more that would rid the galaxy of the Sith once and for all. In terms of technical skill, stopping Darth Sidious would be easy. But your emotions are in control now, not your 13 years of lightsaber training, not the moral compass your mother instilled in you, not the countless hours you have spent in strategy meetings. In this moment it is the love you feel for your wife and your unborn child that is in control and that makes you pause and realize that it would actually be the hardest thing you have ever done to stop Darth Sidious from killing Jedi Master Mace Windu. (So you don’t. You choose to take the easy way out instead.)
****************************************************************************************************
It wouldn’t even be that hard, you think as you realize exactly what shot the rebel pilot is trying to make to blow up the Death Star. When he manages to make it, you scoff because you could have done it from double the distance with triple the number of enemy fighters on you on a bad day.
****************************************************************************************************
It won’t even be that hard, you think as you consider how you will get your son to join you to overpower Sidious. After all, he is your blood and there is nothing more important than family. Luke Skywalker will surely see that.
****************************************************************************************************
It won’t even be that hard, you try to reassure yourself as you prepare to face your son for the first time since Bespin. You have imagined how you will meet him again countless times over the past year but somehow none of them included Luke turning himself in. It won’t even be that hard. It won’t even be that hard. It won’t even be that hard.
****************************************************************************************************
It won’t be that hard, you think as you watch your master and abuser electrify your son while he pleads for your help. It has been many years since you last performed a kind, selfless act and you think that perhaps kindness is like a muscle that can atrophy, but as you move forward and throw your master off of your son whom you are just now realizing you loved more than you have ever loved anything else before, you find that the part of Anakin Skywalker that was selfless has not died, but instead been hidden away and kept safe for the moment it would be needed again. Thankfully, sacrificing yourself is nowhere near as hard as living as Darth Vader ever was.
****************************************************************************************************
Joining with the Force is the least hard thing you have ever done and following Obi-Wan’s guidance for how to join him and Yoda on Endor to look over the Rebel celebration is only slightly more difficult. After years and years of each living moment being torture, this comes with an eery ease. Hmm.., you think wryly as you survey your two ghostly companions and those surrounding your children as they celebrate their victory, in the end balancing the Force wasn’t even that hard.
****************************************************************************************************
Author’s Note: I can thank this story for being the reason that I learned ‘Nubian’ did not mean ‘from Naboo’ but is actually a reference to a completely different planet/system and it’s just a coincidence that people from Naboo fly Nubian ships and the two actually have nothing to do with each other. I now have to live with the fact that I’ve been assuming anything from Naboo was Nubian for over a decade, so that’s fun.
The bit about the Balmorra Run is from TCW 1x03.
But seriously, when was someone going to tell me that Jar Jar wasn’t wrong when he referred to the people from Naboo as ‘the Naboo’?
