*cue synth bass*
Had a lot of fun with this one. I'm particularly proud of Newman, and he was the fastest one to caricaturize. Only took about ten minutes.
Elaine took forever.

Extended credits for Museum at Tomorrow episode 5
Below the cut are all of the folks who I used (and asked to be credited) for recordings in Museum at Tomorrow episode 5- specifically, the "This is not for You" recordings.
(The list was too long for podcast episode descriptions)
These recordings were mixed into the soundscape of the show, heavily processed- so you may or may not be able to pick out your voice. Each unique recording is preserved as rhythem, timber, and shape within the episode.
Thank you for your work in creating the canvas of this piece.

Remembering Liz Wilde 1971-2024
Sad news today that radio personality Anne Whittemore-Firestone, known on-air as Liz Wilde, has passed away at 52. I was a fan of her when she was on WAAF-FM in Boston from 1990-1995, a time I was listening to the hard rock station a lot. Her nickname was Liz Wilde, "The Cream Cheese Bitch". She was funny, raunchy and chatted up multiple rock stars. After she left Boston for stations in Chicago and other markets I lost track of her until I connected with her on social media a few years ago as I was connected to a number of WAAFers because of the overlap with V66 and my documentary Life on the V: The Story of V66.

Who is the best member of UNIT? Nomination Day
the rules are:
must be a member of UNIT, a precursor to UNIT, or a succesor of UNIT
must be emplyed by the relevant organisation (eg Sarah-Jane doesn't count just because she's around UNIT a lot). Some exceptions may be made if for example the relevant organisation doesn't emply anyone, but the character must be as close to an official member as its possible to be
No nominees that are spoilers for series 14, meaning their working for UNIT must be pre-The Giggle
Please bare in mind when you are nominating that I am hoping to keep the number of nominations under 64 to run this as a mini-tournament. This is not a hard rule so if nominations do exceed 64 its not a big deal, just something I'd like everyone to bare in mind
Nominees
at the moment these are just the ones who'll obviously be nominated, nobody has actually nominated them except, I guess, me

Going to the Chapel #3
Tumblr media
Going to the Chapel #3 Action Lab Danger Zone 2019 Written by David Pepose Illustrated by Gavin Guidry Coloured by Liz Kramer Lettered by Ariana Maher     Locked in a stalemate with the police, an unexpected loss sends Emily and the Bad Elvis Gang spiralling into chaos — but unfortunately, Emily’s dysfunctional wedding party isn’t going to take this lying down. Can this bride pull off one last escape, or will her worst secrets be unveiled?     Oh my goodness sometimes the story itself hits you, not necessarily in the feels mind you, in ways that you don't expect. The opening for this issue is fantastic and does exactly what it's supposed to do. After all you want it to grab your attention, draw you in and make you want to see more and if seeing Tom in his boxer briefs isn't enough to do that then maybe how we see Emily will. These two are kind of star crossed lovers whose paths crossed at the wrong time, or right depending on how you see things. That David, Gavin, Liz and Ariana manage in one page to bring us a lifetimes worth of emotions is something spectacular to see.     With the way that this is being told through the story & plot development in how we see the sequence of events unfolding before us as well how information is released showcases just how talented David is. The character development is banana's as we see personalities emerge through the circumstances they encounter. I love this as we see some truly unexpected moments pop up and widen the eyes and make you laugh. With the pacing factored in we start to see the twists & turns and at least one revelation make itself known. All this combines to create this ebb & flow to the book that really takes us on An Unexpected Journey.     One of those moments that I rather liked was the twitter comments. I wish there were more of those throughout the book because it injects just the right amount of humour needed to diffuse the seriousness of what is seen from the outside. Also I think we found the next star for a new mini-series in this issue as well and I am sure I am not alone in wanting to see that! Talk about coming to life, geez, this made the issue even than it already was.      I like the interiors here a whole lot. They are expressive and bring some wonderful emotion to the characters. I want backgrounds, Gavin you need to do backgrounds I mean these folks are holed up in a church and we don't feel it by looking at it. We see these coloured backgrounds, yawn. I do like the characters and how we see them they are spectacularly well done. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a good solid eye for storytelling. The colour work is nice to see as it brightens everything with those coloured backgrounds. The way that the hues and tones are utilised to create the shading and the shadows is nice done.      There is just so much about this to love. The way the story moves feels incredibly natural as if the movements of the characters are from a real life scenario. The way that this twocking doesn't go off smoothly with these career criminals is funnier than all get out. It almost has that Pink Panther feel to it where Murphy's Law applies to everything and everyone making this one of those utterly fantastic comedies that you can't get enough of. It is time to find out why this is getting such rave reviews by ordering it from your shop or service.
