“Jesus Christ, Dick. What the hell is wrong with you?” Gia seethed, stomping to her feet to land a swift kick to Dick’s stomach. Her face was wet, the edges of her hair plastered to her cheeks.

The blonde doubled over on a pained groan, dropping to his knees. “Fuck,” he cursed, wincing. “I was just having a little fun! God, don’t be so uptight.”

“I should’ve known Dick would be behind this,” Veronica muttered under her breath, sharing a knowing look with Logan. “What happened?”

Gia crossed her arms over her chest, indignant. “I was asleep on the floor, soundly thank you very much,” she huffed out, throwing daggers at Dick with her steely gaze, “when this asshole poured a glass of freezing cold water on my face.”

Forget the murderer, Veronica was going to strangle the entire room herself first.

“Hold on,” Veronica lifted her hand, “That’s why you let out a blood-curdling scream? Because he poured some water on your face?”

“Oh, I’m so sorry, Veronica Mars. Did my scream startle you?” Gia sneered. “Next time I’ll be sure to wait for a more appropriate time before some dickhead tries to practically drown me.”

God, was this girl dramatic.

“Yeah, could you?” Veronica asked, her voice dripping in faux sweetness. “That’d be real swell, thanks.”

“Look, Goodman,” Dick said, rising to his feet as slow and steady as the color returning to his face, “Someone had to interrupt the freight train that was coming out of your mouth. And since you were all cuddled up next to me—“

“I was not—” Gia interrupted, a blush rising to her cheeks.

“It seemed like I should be the one to take one for the team.” He rubbed his stomach, wincing. “Though I did not mean literally.”

Gia stomped her foot. “I do not snore.”

Dick patted her shoulder in a manner that was so patronizing even Veronica had to give him mental snaps. “Sure.”

“Remove your hand or I swear to God - ”

“Okay!” Veronica interrupted, clapping her hands together with a bright smile pasted on her face. “Enough with the flirting for the insane. Is everyone here and accounted for?” She surveyed the room.

“Wallace is gone,” Logan observed, lifting an eyebrow.

Shit. Veronica bit her lip, worry gnawing at the edges of her stomach. Her gaze flitted around each of the mattresses and sure enough, Logan was right. Even Alexis was still there, zonked out on a mattress in the corner. Though she seemed to find a new buddy, Veronica thought grimly. One of Casey’s arms was loosely wrapped around her waist and —

Yep, that was a pair of spoons if Veronica ever saw one.

Wait. “Wallace and Mac are gone?”

“Maybe they ran into each other and are off sleuthing?” Logan offered helpfully. “Never know when that Veronica Mars influence will kick in with a vengeance.”

Veronica shot him a playful glare and he booped her on the nose in return.

“Hold up, Ghost World is here?” Dick looked confused. “Has she been with us the whole time?” He scratched his head.

Logan shook his head, patting his friend on the back. “Dude, you have got to lay off the booze,”

“And you have got to stop calling her that,” Veronica spat. “And no, we just ran into her last night.”

“And what, decided to keep it from the rest of us? In case you hadn’t noticed, there’s a killer on the loose.” Gia gasped. “What if it’s Mac?”

“Hokay, I think it’s time I get away from this.” Veronica waved a hand toward Dick and Gia. She turned to Logan. “I hope you’re right, Echolls. Got any ideas floating around in that pretty little head of yours?”

He grinned. “I thought you’d never ask, Bobcat.”

Why did you pick the name(s) you are using?  Liviafan1 was not-so-cleverly borne out of my love for Olivia Benson and my actual name, Olivia. Witty 13-year-old I was not.                                                                                 I came onto Tumblr as twistymaven and then left for a couple months while I was working for the costume designer of Castle. Felt a little bit of conflict being a part of both worlds, so I extracted myself for a bit. When I came back to Tumblr, I started all over with a new blog and title - loveandprose - which just reflects two major parts of my life.

Place of birth: Just outside Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Where do you live now? See above.

Anything you want to share about your life or family:  I have a cute and tiny apartment with my best friend of 18 years, Elizabeth.

Job:  Assistant lifestyle editor with the local newspaper and freelance writer/copyeditor. LOVE my job!

What do you like to do in your spare time, besides writing?  I dance quite a bit - mostly hip-hop with a few Zumba workouts sprinkled in. I love reading, binge-watching television, making insane wall collages, drinking wine, and eating ALL the chocolate chip cookies.

How did you become a fan of Castle? So maybe a bit of a sad story, but my best friend, the aforementioned Elizabeth, got into Castle right around the time it started. I essentially refused to watch as I somehow got it into my head that Kate Beckett was an Olivia Benson wannabe (a mindset I held, mind you, without watching a SINGLE episode of Castle).  Anyway, right before the start of season 3, my other best friend passed away. During winter of my sophomore year of college, I was at home, not working, and ruminating on my loss. I decided to give Castle a shot and it got me through some of the worst months I’ve ever had. So incredibly grateful for it.

Favorite episode(s): Love angst, so my favorite is “Knockout.” Also love “Cops and Robbers,” “Killshot,” “Always,” “47 Seconds,” and “The Limey.”

How did you discover fan fiction? When I was 13, Elizabeth and I found a printed copy of a Phantom of the Opera fanfiction story that someone in school had printed out from ff.net. Pretty much a rabbit hole spiral after that.

When did you start writing? I wrote my first original story when I was 8 or 9, I think. Never considered writing as a career move until I was 17, though.

Have you written anything for other fandoms? I started out in SVU, where I wrote terrible first-person narrative. I also went through a brief “The Nanny” phase, but that never saw the likes of the internet. Thank God.

Favorite place to write? I really love writing on my bed, actually. I hear it’s terrible to use your bed for anything other than sleeping (and stuff), but it’s comfy and relaxing. And I have a giant wall collage for inspiration right beside it, so it’s perfect.

Do you have a particular writing process?

Eh, not really. It involves a lot of procrastinating and editing as I go. I really, really hate outlining, so that’s not a thing I generally do, which can be problematic. I’m working on an original novel right now, though, so I’m forcing myself to do it. But I’ve never done it with fanfic.

 How do you come up with your story ideas? I get my ideas from anywhere, really. My own experiences have really shaped original fiction, but in regards to fanfiction, anything goes. A lot of times, music inspires me. A song will strike me in a certain way that becomes the inspiration for what I’m working on. Images and film have been inspirations as well. Nothing’s off limits.

 Which is your favorite story that you’ve written and why? Fondly, I call it ‘divorcefic’ (and that’s how some of my friends know it too) but the actual name is “Dissolution.” I think it’s the most real fic I’ve written and one of the darkest. At the time, it was the first of its kind, I think, and that makes me really happy.

 What have you learned or improved on in your writing? Dialogue is my favorite part of a story to write and I hope that I only get better in regards to that aspect of it. I struggle a bit with making an arc more realistic for the sake of impatiently wanting them together. I still think I need to work on that, but I am aware of it.  I’m also the ACTUAL WORST at naming my stories. I hate it with every cell in my body. Not sure I’m actually improving in that realm, but…

What resources, if any, do you find helpful when writing? Google, other writers, and friends!

Is there something you wished you’d known when you first started? Nope. Wouldn’t change a thing!

How long does it take you to write a typical chapter?  I’m an excellent procrastinator, so it takes me longer than it should and I’m easily distracted by the interwebs. But usually a few hours.

Which of your fics has been the most popular? “Dissolution” has been relatively popular, as well as “Days of Summer” (though I look back on this one and cringe a bit, so I don’t know that I would recommend reading it, if you haven’t already). My collab with Emma (FanficwriterGHC), “Women like that don’t become mystery writers” (found on her profile) has seemed to strike a small chord, as well. Hope to get back to that one soon!

Which of your fics are you most proud of, and why? Other than “Dissolution,” I’m proud of “A Break in the Tide.” It was really tough to write, but so rewarding when I finished it.

Pick 2-3 of your stories and take us deeper into the process.  Any frustrations or proud moments? Where did the idea come from, what were you trying to accomplish, etc. “Women like that….” was borne out of a silly brainstorming session Emma and I were having one night. We were college roommates our senior year and we spent most of our time sitting in our living room together. We were both TERRIBLE about going to bed at a decent hour and it was awesome to have a kinship like that.  I think it started as a joke that one of us made and then were were like LET’S DO IT and wrote a little outline right then and there.                                                                         “Hold Your Breath and Count to Ten” came from a sleep-deprived night and a marathon listening session of Adele’s Skyfall. When a song inspires a story, I usually listen to the song on repeat as I write. Which is maybe a smidge intense, but when I really zero in on something in that way, it becomes necessary - at least for me in my process.

Last story you wrote, or current if publishing? I have admittedly been terrible at finishing my last few things. But I’m adamant about not updating until I finish them because of the long waits between chapters  I’ve forced upon those who are reading. I’m finishing up “I’d sink us to swim” right now and then hopefully finish up “can’t start a fire…,” “smoke rings in the dark,” and “women like that…”

Who are some of your favorite authors in fanfic? So many! It’s crazy how much talent is in this fandom. I love sparklemouse, chezchuckles, seilleanmor, bravevulnerability, FanficwriterGHC, Sandiane Carter, CoraClavia, airbefore, blue252, and International08, and Kate Christie, to name a few!

Top 5 favorite stories, other than your own? Top 5 is hard! But here are a few of my faves:  “Kiss Me, Castle,” “Glimpses of the Moon,” “In Vino Veritas,” “there your heart will be also,” and “Dandelions.”

Any stories that you feel deserve more attention? Undoubtedly, a ton. Haven’t been reading much lately, but my recent fave is ivyandtwine!

Advice to new authors or people thinking about writing? Just do it. Don’t even think twice.

Something you think will surprise most people about you? Contrary to popular belief, I do not moonlight as an NYPD detective who is in love with my partner, Elliot Stabler.                                                                               Though I can totally see how a mix-up was made.

Anything else you’d like people to know? I’m in the middle of writing a young adult novel called “How to Lose Your Mind in 29 Days.”
