As Dr. Jeff Myers explains, when you go back in history, you see all these people who had no conflict. For example, Nicholas Copernicus was teaching a study on apologetics and wanted to prove the date of Easter. So, he started doing astronomical calculations and realized that the Earth revolves around the Sun, and our full understanding of the solar system came from his teaching. There are many stories like Copernicus' that shows that religion and science aren't in opposition. Reposted from @alisachilders To say that Christianity is "a white man's religion" is very popular in our culture today, but that is simply not true. Dr. H.C. Felder explains that the first non-Jew contact of Christianity was an Ethiopian eunuch. This is found in Acts 8:26. God performed a miracle to the apostle Philip to get the message to the Ethiopian eunuch, who accepted the message, became baptized, and then returned to his queen and shared the message with her. By the fourth century A.D., most of Africa was Christianized. This was before Christianity was even recognized as a religion by Rome. Christianity was thriving in Africa without any influence from Rome. Some early church fathers were African, like Augustine, Tertullian, and Athanasius. As a matter of fact, Christianity migrated from Africa to Europe, not from Europe to Africa. Also, when Constantine decided to legalize Christianity, he went to Africa to find scholars to teach Christian doctrines.
