So, this was the first play I saw on Broadway. It was a parks and recs trip. I saw this by myself.

I love Tom Stoppard's plays. He is my favorite playwright. This being my first play was not surprising. (I've seen a total of 5 Stoppard plays on Broadway.)

Again, it was 20$ with my student ID.

I had read the play before. After first encountering Stoppard in high school, I started snapping up scripts and reading them. This was a time you could find such things in better book stores, including the ones in your local malls!

I remember little of the actual production. The airline seats lowering from the grid is something that sticks with me because it was a technical price I had never considered and wouldn't have because it was outside of what anything around me could do.

Stoppard's dialogue snapped in the hands of professionals. His words are so elegant and purposefully placed that simply have too. It ebbed and flowed beautifully. That was a true revelation. A musical is one thing, the dialogue is important and needs be crisp... but a play? Professionally.... it has to sing. The words are the spectacle. And it was spectacular in that respect.
