Last year I took the stage for the first time as a professional speaker. I was nervous and unsure if this was the right calling after a long fighting career. In the past 12 months I have met thousands of people with stories to tell, many stories are like mine. I am proud to give courage to those who are seeking a voice. I was always prepared to give my life for what I believed in. The study of martial arts took me from prisons to Hollywood, and beyond. What one man (Bob Shamrock) started by showing love and respect of the arts turned into millions of fans around the world supporting and helping achieve this mission. Thousands helped train and teach me. My childhood dream was to become a world champion and to share this knowledge with the world. This is the night in 2010 that I retired and began teaching the #warriorscode. I could no longer perform at the highest level and excellence is what my fans deserved for supporting. If you get into a fist fight, you will be hit with a fist. If you get into a knife fight you will get cut with a knife. Words, Rock, Guns or even a Tank: This is one of the core values of the #warriorscode, Understand the true risks before entering #battle or do not engage. Why? Because when you don’t understand the risks you don’t know the game. This is the only fight that I have ever been knocked out, I got tired because I was not in shape for the match, my ego said that my opponent would crumble under the pressure of my attack. He pressed on while I fatigued until finally I could hardly stand upright. Not only did I loss the fight by KO but the impact on the floor shifted the bone plates in my skull giving me double vision for a week. I was not ready to enter this battle, I was not #prepared or #conditioned. The risks were losing and then brain damage.
