Launching one’s own company is no mean feat for a #housewife who started her #career in her late 30s. From a humble beginning as an #employee at the #AllianceFrançaise, and later at the #BritishCouncil, I went on to #launch #liveguruin with one teacher. It all started many years back, with a small group of learners from Dubai (from Air Cargo) who wished to learn French which resulted in the launching of liveguru.in. Years of self-doubt later, encouragement, determination, dedication, will power, hard work, and the support of my family and friends, countless fabulous students in the last two years alone, a lovely team of teachers, gurus, techies, #LinkedIn role-models, I decided to become an #entrepreneur. However, I owe it big time to #Wiziq and #Zoom which actually gave me the impetus to take the plunge. Today, #liveguru.in, relaunched as #SynchrolearnLanguagesPvtLtd engages 23 teachers and runs classes for over 300 hours per month for #teachers and #students across the world. Classes include #foreign #languages and more recently, #Math and #Science classes for 6th graders planning to attempt #SAT and #ACT exams. Watch this space for more! Last July, this parent came to me with a request to train her son in French for his Xth board exams. Our challenge was to prepare the child in ten hours, we focused on giving practice in writing and grammar. The boy scored 87% ! More than a year later, the parent came back to me, last week, and asked for training the boy for admission into a prestigious school in the USA. I had four days i.e 10 hours) to prepare him in all the four skills.
