oh so this game goes on for years
#my posts#animanga#liveblogging#liveblogging genrou#i just started chapter 4 of benkei's route#and she says it's been 3 years since the start#so she's 15 now#and according to this one review she's like 19 at the end of a certain route?#so i'd guess that happens for all of them#or somethingggg#which is nice#it also probably explains why this game is /so fucking long/#i do not have a problem with long games#but i do have a problem with long games that also /feel/ long#because they drag on or make you interact with side characters for hours#or literally only like 2% of the scenes are actually plot or character-relevant#HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN#THE SCENES DO NOT FEEL CHARACTER RELEVANT MOST OF THE TIME#WHAT IS THIS!!!!!!!#i'm tempted to like drop it completely after benkei's route#because this feels like its over 50 hrs long AND IT IS NOT WORTH IT#or maybe ill just skip through everything but tsugunobu and mikage's routes ehhh

#my posts#animanga#liveblogging#liveblogging lgs#not playing geten no hana after all bc id rather just wait until i get a vita#so i just started this and genrou instead#and this is pretty intimidating bc its long and difficult according to this one reivew#but its also /good/#especially the music and the art#AND HOLY FUCK THE TEXTBOX AND TEXT#like the text is just white but its pretty big and you can actually /see/ it#like quinrose games always have white text as well#but somehow its always so hard to make out against the textbox#it might be bc of the fonts they use even tho its changeable#or maybe its the textbox's texture or smth#that doesnt go with the text#idk but its nnnn#tho its not worse than hiiro no kakera's psp version#which has a shit font and white text with no outline#but with a shitty offset shadow#and a very ugly textbox#why do psp games excel at making text so hard to read#the psp screen is already small come on#like otome game text in general tends to be... ugly.... but its even worse in these cases#grrrrrrrrr#vnblogging

#my posts#animanga#liveblogging#vnblogging#AT NORMAL SPEED#genuinely what the fuck#i get that it has 6 routes and probably isnt the shortest#but in all the reviews and posts about it#ive never seen anyone say that its long or very long#but then again i havent seen anyone call cendrillon palika very long#but on vndb it's set at 50+ hrs#and it has 7 routes#but one of the reviews i've come across estimates it at 22 hrs#and olympia soiree at around 30 hrs#this person reads like twice as fast as me probably lol#idk i guess it depends on pacing n s t u f f#guess ill find out when i actually read them#which will be in the near future#but i still dont expect any of them to be longer or slower#than genrou or lgs lmao#but im most looking forward to seeing how long kgk will take me#since it's often mentioned as one of the longer ones#and i will definitely have to 100% it#=_=

#my posts#animanga#liveblogging#liveblogging lgs#yes ok ive stalled everything and dropped genrou#and im actually continuing this EH#but i feel so invested??#idk whats going on half the time#but fuck a good font really makes it better#AND SO DOES A GOOD PROTAGONIST#and i think i've met all the potential LIs by now#AND THYRE SO FUCKING GREAT#finally kaji yuuki and hino satoshi voicing characters i happen to like#especially in the former's case#a money-obsessed hecking beautiful tsundere#and his voice is on the deeper side g o d#and also vndb says this game is 30-50 hrs long#but it doesnt /feel/ long#idk if its bc the scenes are on the short side#or bc the interactions between the characters are so good#but it feels good to read u know#y e a#geten no hana kinda gives me a similar feeling too#though it is of course very different#hm
