HI LAYLA!! where do i…..even start. okay so i went with my sister who’s as big a fan as me!! her outfit was fearless inspired but mine was lover bc… DUH! had pink trousers and a white top with a pink boa n heart-shaped earrings and gem-outlined heart sunglasses!! also did my makeup which looked SO GOOD! put some gems around my eyes n lots of glitter on my body it was a LOOK!! would post but i’m afraid of face reveals and face reveals are afraid of me 😶‍🌫️

AS FOR THE SHOW!! cruel summer was. insane. the entirety of the reputation set 😵‍💫😵‍💫 illicit affairs was one of what i was most excited for and it absolutely did not disappoint. and fearless!! mastermind!! SURPRISE SONG #1 WAS OOTW!!! ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!! AND NUMBER TWO WAS FIFTEEN AS IF I WOULDNT LOSE MY MIND!!

Hey Ally! I’m wondering if you have any recommendations for angsty gatty fics/authors? (I’ve personally coined you the queen of that very specific sub genre haha) and in general, did you have a favorite fic you read (regardless of fandom) in 2023?

Hi! Yes! There are many talented Gatty writers in this fandom and I am so grateful to get to share the same space as them!

Some of my favorites are:

Literally anything and everything that @lookedlikethebins who can be found on AO3 as andfacedown has written - everything hurts SO GOOD

I've also been really enjoying @sundrownsthehouse who can be found on AO3 under the same name.

It's Only Green Where You Water by an anonymous user has absolutely broken me in the best way and I am still obsessed with it even though it hasn't been updated since April - I hope the mystery author is okay! (They have a few other fics listed in the author's notes as well that are also incredible!!)

@0ceanxey3s is another author I really enjoy - and can be found on AO3 as 0ceanxeyes it's more of a general / friendship dynamic between Fictional!Matty and Fictional!George compared to a romantic one but wow do they manage to hurt me in the best way!

@betweenthings2 that can be found on AO3 with the same name has also written some lovely angsty fics!

As always, my all time favorite fic i read in 2023 was Poses by @vinylandcoffeecollection - this is literally my favorite fic in the entire Gatty tag and I have reread it way too many times.

There are SO MANY lovely talented writers in this fandom and this tag and I am sure that I've forgotten some as I just did a quick scroll through my bookmarks tag on AO3! I hope that you enjoy some of these if you haven't read them already! THIIIIIS! Plus we as a fandom got no clue how Liv & Harry ended! Maybe it ended a way where one person was able to move on quicker cuz of what happened to make them break (even though 7ish months is a long ass time!) & you cant deny someone if you meet them & they catch your eye instantly! No amount of time can pass where if you meet someone super special you would pass up on getting to kno them! Taylor must have caught his eye RIGHT away tbfh

And yet these same people will turn round and speak worshipfully about Taylor Swift.

Taylor had no gap at all between Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston (and brags about it obnoxiously in Getaway Car) and very short gaps between other relationships, including Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy.

She ended her seven year relationship with Joe in early April and was dating Matty by May 3!

Mallory would be an AMAZING Bloom. She’s recently seen as an Alternate in Six: the musical on Broadway. She’s adorable, an amazing singer and actress, and would totally convey the insecure, stubborn, selfless, brave and heart of gold personality of everyone’s favorite fairy of the dragon flame

Stella-Dove Cameron

I originally had Anneleigh Ashford as Stella, but as of recently, Dove popped into my mind while watching a video of her as Sofìe in the Hollywood Bowl production of Mamma Mia in 2017. She’s most known for playing Mal in the Descendants franchise, both Liv and Maddie in the Disney channel show “Liv and Maddie”, and Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray Live. She already has great comedic chops,and is already used to playing a Stella type role of Liv.

Flora- Krystina Alabado

KRYSTINA IS SO UNDERRATED!! She’s the current Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls the Musical. She really radiates the genuine, shy, caring, mature, sweet, and the deep sense of love and happiness just like our favorite Plant Mom™️.

OMG THIS WOMAN IS SO CUTE AND UNDERRATED OMG!!! She’s recently been seen as Frankie Healy in the Broadway musical, Jagged Little Pill. She’s a relatively new, and young actress(being only 20) and this can be a huge opportunity for her to gain more popularity. SERIOUSLY LOOK AT THAT SMILE!! SO PRECIOUS

Musa- Eva Noblezada

THIS WOMAN!!!! She’s an amazing actress that has pipes for DAYS!!! She pays the role of Eurydice in the hit Tony Award Winning musical, Hadestown. We Stan a musa that can sing👌 She can seriously pull of the tomboyish, tough, sarcastic, and layered personality as everyone’s favorite fairy of music. Anyway, here’s her singing Go the Distance from Hercules.

Tecna-Chyler Leigh

AGAIN, THIS WOMAN!!! She’s most well know from her work as Alex Danvers in the CW show, Supergirl. There, she plays a similar character to Tecna in Supergirl’s older sister. She could really pull of the level headed, logical, selfless personality of everyone’s favorite fairy of technology.
