“Dad, am I adopted?”

Eddie blinks, then furrows his eyes as he looks at his seven-year-old daughter, Robbie (who he hadn’t even heard come into the room, to be honest), because he knows that he and Steve have been very upfront with all three of their children about how they’re adopted.

“Yes,” he tells her, “You’re adopted. You’re all adopted.”

“Then how come Hazel and Moe look like sisters and they don’t look like me?” she asks.

And Eddie feels his heart break a little bit.

“Oh, sweetheart,” he says, running a hand over her curls, “Well, first of all, you all look very similar, and you do all have the same mom, 100%. Sometimes genes are just weird that way.”

Robbie scrunches her nose, “Jeans?”

“Uhh…” he trails off, scratching his head and knowing full well he barely made it through sophomore biology (and that was almost thirty years ago).

When Steve comes home thirty minutes later, he finds Robbie Skyping with Dustin in Indiana and he’s got his camera facing a white board while he talks the first-grader and her middle-aged dad through a very basic explanation of punnett squares and genetics.

“What’s going on?” he asks skeptically, dropping his backpack onto the counter.

“Uncle Dustin’s showing me why me and Moe aren’t related,” Robbie replies, not taking her eyes off the computer screen.

“No,” Dustin cuts in emphatically.

Steve looks at his husband for an explanation.

“She thinks she’s not related to Moe and Hazel because she doesn’t look like them,” Eddie tells him.

Steve’s eyebrows fly up as he looks back at their daughter.

“Robbie,” he says, “Where’s your head at? You and Moe have the exact same face with different hair.”

“Moe has brown eyes,” Robbie fires back.

“And Hazel has blue eyes just like you. So what? All three of you are basically identical. When you and Moe were little, you were so tall that people always told me how cute my twins are.”

CATCHING MY BREATH, STARING OUT AN OPEN WINDOW

Jack Parr is based on Jack Jack from The Incredibles. They are a 26 year old superhuman, temp worker, and uses they/them pronouns. They have the power of polymorphism, telekinesis, teleportation, laser-vision, and self-duplication. Jack is portrayed by Liv Hewson and they are open.

CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE

There's nothing quite like arriving to the party later than everyone else. The action is in full swing and you have no time at all to play catch up - that's how Jack has felt for most of their lives. Their family was already incredible and, to be fair, they didn't need much to match the energy and take it even further. Their parents were staples in the Supers reputation, their siblings not far behind and, to some people, it felt like Jack saw the chance to be something prodigious and ran with it. It wasn't enough to have one speciality, they needed to live up to their name and be a jack-of-all-trades. And that they were. No one expected a baby to have a seemingly never endless list of powers but every single day there was another one popping up and it took a few years for Jack to get a handle on their abilities, feeling urges under their skin that resulted in teleporting or turning into a literal devil baby. But eventually, some semblance of control was achieved. There were moments when Jack felt they had missed out on some family bonding when they were a baby but these days, they're more than comfortable making sure they don't miss out. Dash might be the troublemaker but Jack was one step behind him, lighting up a room whenever they walked in - sometimes literally. Supers were always prepared for any situation, it was in their nature, but even Jack wasn't ready for Evermore. Nor the complete memory wipe that came with it. Jack knew their family was their family but everything else...it had all disappeared. Including some of the control they'd managed to build up over the years. It wasn't like they were turning into a metal version of themselves or duplicating multiple times (that had happened before) but it was harder to control the surges that built up before a burst of power. It wasn't impossible but there were moments of high emotion where it was extremely hard for Jack to control themselves and every so often, those powers leaked through. Even though Evermore was not their original home, to Jack it was. Evermore was all they remembered or knew and, though they couldn't leave, Jack liked the small town; liked not having some unexplainable weight on their shoulders to save the world. However, they'd always been a force of nature and sometimes it feels like one day, they might explode from holding it all back and who knows what would happen if that ever came to pass.

[tw: abuse]. of swedish descent and a student at durmstrang. while there, the curriculum began directly with the dark arts. it's what she grew up with and took her lessons as being most important. however, she was always curious and questioned what she was taught. shockingly, her professors generally appreciated that part of her. she was a great student and promising with her dark arts studies. that is, until her curiosity bested her during her third year. on an outing she found her way into the woods where she was attacked, slashed deeply from the right side of her neck down her shoulder. the professor found her, brought her back to the castle and showed headmaster, harfang munter, what had happened. he immediately got in touch with her father, boje. she was sent to her home. but first she was hit with a memory charm so she could never return. they would never accept a werewolf.

aunt wilhelmina, hilda's sister, was the black sheep of the rystrom family. when liv showed up on her doorstep she was dirty, bruised and shaking with fear. wilhelmina, or aunt wilma, took her into the house where she could bathe. the two sat down and liv was given the rules: she would stay in the shed attached to the home aside from the entire week of the full moon where liv would go to a designated place far off into the woods until the full moon was gone.

liv would get bits of education from her aunt wilma. she continued learning about dark magic but was also introduced and encouraged to paint. liv took to it like she could finally exhale. the shed became a museum mixed with dark shadows and sunrises blooming with color donning the walls. art gave liv a reason and a reminder of how talented and intelligent she was.

with the interactions between wilhemina the two became quite close. liv couldn't forget about her parents however her aunt became more important to her than anyone in her nuclear family.

one month after the full moon liv found her way home only to see the home broken into, the inside ransacked and familiar scratches aligning the wooden walls and floors. she didn't need to know where her aunt was. she knew she was gone. this prompted liv to retreat into the woods where she found a pack. and not just any pack but the one that ruined her life. she cowered and followed ending up in the epicenter of war.

she opened up to a few among them but important matters were held as secrets. she was confused about her stance in life and needed someone to confide in. her pack was the only place to find someone to fill that role.

during their trek from place to place liv decided she didn't want to hide again as she did with her family, friends and school. but how could she do that with the pack as her protection? she didn’t know. after all, who else would’ve wanted a werewolf in their midst? little did she know at the time that she may have that question may have a different answer than she expected.

Peter Pan was the leader of the Lost Boys, enjoying adventures with other children. They could not remember a life before Neverland. Most people stayed once they came, but a few did return to their homes. Peter never remembered any of them after they left. None except Wendy. They met her when looking for his shadow, a chance encounter that changed their life. She was sowed it back on and they took her back to Neverland to be the Lost Boys' mother, saving her from growing up. If they were capable of any maturity, they would have known they loved more about her than her stories. As it was, they did not understand the strange feelings that sometimes crept up on them when she was near. When Wendy decided to go back home, they let her go despite wanting her to stay. The loss was hard, but it was not the end of their suffering. Eventually, the rest of the Lost Boys left Peter too. They were abandoned, with only Tinker Bell left. It put Peter in a state, another grown up feeling they didn’t have a name for. Then an adult explained it to them. Peter was depressed. They needed their family back, but the Lost Boys were all grown up now. They wanted the old Lost Boys back. They wanted Wendy back. These adults had the answer for them. They had the ability to change everything back to the way it was when they was happy.

Peter Pan’s deal with Cinderella is fairly simple. They bring in people from the other world for her and she keeps the memories of the Lost Boys in place. After Tinker Bell’s disappearance, she graciously began giving them pixie dust so Peter and the Lost Boys could continue flying. Peter often loses track of time between visits to the other world. They can wait years before they pick up who they are supposed to and their memory is not the best. This is what leads to most of their mistakes. Selfishness drives them. They do not ask why Cinderella needs the new people because their childlike mind doesn’t find it important. They can’t remember who is real and who is an impostor because they don't have the focus and don't care much anyway. When not bringing back people, Peter is up to their old tricks. He picks fights with pirates and talks to mermaids. Peter is particularly fond of treasure hunts. Peter is quick to help those in need, but their definition of “in need” varies often. Peter just doesn’t see anything as more than a game, so understanding that people are in real danger is difficult for them. Peter is a skilled swordsman, though whether that skill was something they developed while in Neverland or before they arrived, even they don't know. On their visits to the castle, they occasionally challenges Prince Henry, who is a worthy opponent. They tend to avoid the balls there since they are much too formal, unless they can get away with mimicking people while there or if Cinderella needs a favor from them.
