Staggering through the door, Jeonghan messily kicked off his shoes, leaving them somewhere behind on the way to the kitchen. Jacket landing on the kitchen bar stool, his bag found it’s way to the floor as he stumbled to the refrigerator, pulling out the iciest looking bottle of water in the bunch. Setting it on the counter he turned to where the rice cooker most often found it’s home, opened it up and groaned happily when he found there to be rice left from whatever meal you’d made with it most recently. Filling a bowl and grabbing a pack of seaweed, he stabbed them into the rice with a spoon on his way to the living room, the ice water under his arm, too exhausted to be bothered by the cold. Anyone who knew Jeonghan would know that meant he was quickly approaching his limit.
Practically toppling over between the coffee table and sofa, he crossed his legs and leaned back against it, wasting no more time in shoveling a spoonful into his mouth to soothe his aching stomach.
Although you’d heard him come home, trudging around the house like an elephant for a man his size, you’d decided to finish wrapping the gift you’d picked up for him on your way home. Leaving it on your bed, you decided to poke your head out of the room when you noticed the silence. He’d been coming home each day this week completely spent. With all his energy gone, he’d even fall asleep standing in the shower. Or, even worse, he’d fall asleep without a shower somewhere in the house with the sweat and filth from the day. Unfortunately, he’d land in your bed that way until you were able to get him up to shower once he had some time to recharge. The silence was filled again before you’d made it to the door, his familiar pained groan echoing down the hall as he sank to the floor, his bones and muscles creaking and aching.
Instead of asleep, you found him in front of the sofa, filling his mouth with heaping spoonfuls of rice, his hair damp with sweat against his forehead.
“Wow, you really are getting old.”, you chuckled as you sat on the arm of the sofa, fighting the urge to tousle his hair. Not that you often minded, but his sweaty hair wasn’t something you were dying to touch. Peering into his bowl you noticed it contained nothing but rice and seaweed that he’d mixed into it.
“Jeonghan! I could have made you something if you hadn’t eaten yet. Why didn’t you call me??”, this time your hand did land on his head, giving it a gentle shaking as you scolded him, god knew he wasn’t cooking for himself, “I can make you kimchi jjigae?”
“Mm.”, shaking his head in disagreement, he shoveled another spoonful into his mouth, his eyebrows slightly creasing.
“God, you’re all sweaty.”, you wiped your hand on your pants, ”Did they work you to death today? Enough to come home and ruin the sofa?”
Shooting you a glare, he filled his mouth again, expression softening since he had no energy to retort.
“Are you sure you don’t want some meat? Kimchi? Anything?”, you pushed on his shoulder worriedly.
“Diet”, he muttered through a mouthful, setting the bowl on the coffee table to reach for the bottle of water he’d been too busy stuffing his mouth to remember.
You could help but snort? Jeonghan? On a diet? Jeonghan who was skin and bone despite having the appetite of a blue whale?
“But what if there’s nothing left when you’re done??”, you complain, shaking his head again with your hand in his hair.
Paying you no mind, Jeonghan reached for his water again, taking in a few gulps to wash down the rice stuck in his throat that he’d been to eager swallowing.
“The company is having one of my dongsaengs diet before the shoot for our next album.”, he breathed out heavily, leaning back and patting his stomach when he’d decided he’d eaten enough, “So I’ll diet with him since it can’t be avoided.”
Pausing any comment or argument you had planned, you slid onto the floor to sit next to him. He was always taking care of his members, even from the sidelines without notice, he was putting everyone before himself.
Laying his head back, his hair fanned messily against the sofa as he stared at you, eyes tired and weary from another day’s draining activities. But he could take it. He could diet. He could go back tomorrow. He could stand straight again each time he stumbled so he could be there to help the ones who fell. Or maybe it was that each day, he’d come home to you. You who he could allow himself to be spoiled with, who’d patch up his wounds and bruises so he could go out the next day and do it again.
“Pretty.”, he whispered, turning on his side so he could look at you wholly.
“Are you too tired to open the present I got for you?”, you rolled your eyes, smiling to yourself. Annoyingly sweet.
Scoffing, he turned his head away, gathering his emotions after you’d sent them spiraling. He hadn’t been expecting anything. There was no holiday, birthday, anniversary or reason for you to get him something. Though he was flustered he still relied, snarky as ever.
“Never!”
Giggling, you stood and ran to the bedroom, skipping back to the living room with the gift in hand, wrapped in red and white Christmas wrapping paper, sprinkled with little snowmen. Snorting, he grinned widely taking the chance to tease you about the seasonal paper though it was all you’d found at the local market this time of year.
“It’s a little late isn’t it?”, he snickered, taking it in his hands as if he wasn’t tingling in excitement, his hands almost vibrating over the paper as he spread his patience a bit further just to mess with you.
“Shut up or I’ll take it back.”
“Ah! No take backs.”, Jeonghan grumbled, tearing through the paper immediately , his pout pressed thinly as he smiled softly, his cheeks warming at the Lego car set in his lap.
Feeling his energy replenish, he flipped it over, tapping his fingers against the box as he looked over the back of the box giddily. It has been a long time.
“You have the weekend off right?”, you sat next to him, stroking the hair back from his face,“Do you wanna go get cleaned up and then we can build it together??”
Nodding, he quickly got up from the floor, pulling on your arm through little giggles so you’d come along with him.
“Me? Am I coming with you??”, you laughed, working on standing as his tugs became more excited and less patient.
“Yeah! Let’s take a bath together!! We can use the bubbles!”, he chanted, bouncing in place when you finally made it to your feet.
You recognized that tone, whether it was voluntary or not, he was letting him feel small again. Legos always did the trick. Healing his beautiful heart, when he was home with you, you’d coddle him every bit you could. And you’d definitely be making him something more nutritious while you had the chance.

🧸End Note: I know it’s not full regression as Hannie is a little older in this one even when he does regress towards the end but there’s literally nothing cuter than Jeonghan and his legos. He even accepted a small Lego set from a carat in France plz he’s so cute. I’d watch him put together legos all day 😌💖 I do really want to work on things people have requested and more little content but I’ve had some stuff come up lately that has drained me of energy so I’ve just been working on whatever comes to me first creatively so I don’t push myself 😭🤍🤍 ~ 🐶🐰🍓

A Day with Daddy
Work had been taking up all of his time. Not just some, all of it. For weeks Kai had been missing quality time with his little one and it was showing. He was drained and his heart was aching. Kai hated the way he let his emotions affect his work, but how could he help it? The only thing more important to him than his career was his baby.
So, the moment he got word of his upcoming weekend off, he started planning. He didn't just want to spend time with you, he wanted his little one. Being the youngest of the group was great most times, being spoiled and all that. But Kai loved to feel needed by you and he needed to be your Daddy. Often, at the most inconvenient times, he'd find himself lost in his head, thinking of his small, little baby, you seated comfy in his lap, your hands intertwined so nicely, as if they were made for each other. Then he was at his happiest, loving and caring for you. So, one little date wasn't enough, he wanted an entire day with his baby. Daddy-little time was essential.
When the day finally came, Kai woke you early in the morning, his arms already circled around your waist, squeezing tighter as he pressed good morning-kisses all over your face as you faced him. Giggling at the way your squirmed, not wanting to be woken quite yet, he eased up. But his eagerness was something he couldn’t hide, even if he wanted to.
"Wahhh! Baby doesn't wanna have breakfast with Daddy?", he cooed with you in his arms, rubbing his nose against yours. Ears perking up at the words "Breakfast" and "Daddy", you slowly opened one of your eyes, squinting at the yellowy beams of the spring sunrise shining through your bedroom window, making his skin glow so prettily. His eyes glimmered like deep pools of honey or melted chocolate, the kind you'd accidentally let melt in the humid summer heat just to be all the more sweeter somehow. But neither were as sweet as him.
"Nnn...", opening both your heavy eyelids, you smiled and pulled your arm from your cozy nest of blankies and plushies, shared by the both of you, to wipe the sleepy from your eyes.
"Ohhh, my sleepy sleepy babyy.", he sighed, his voice soft, and pulled you back to his chest for a big hug before leaning back to look at you again, "Do you want Daddy to come get you when breakfast is ready??", he kissed both your eyelids ever so softly, allowing them to flutter closed again, heavy with drowsiness so you could slumber just a bit more.
After a closed-eyed nod, you already letting yourself doze off again, he tucked you back under the covers with his Molangie snuggled into your arms both to replace your Daddy and for safe keeping. Once he finished washing up, he made his way to the kitchen to make his special pancakes.
Taehyun would laugh at him, really, pancakes being one of very few things Kai could actually cook, but you didn't mind. It was special to you. Not more than thirty minutes later, your joyous sleep was again interrupted by another comforting voice, deep and soothing, almost lulling you away further into dreamland.
"y/n... your Daddy made breakfast~ Time to wake up~", Soobin giggled, seeing you stir and pull the covers over your head, still very much sleepy, "Baby girl~", he cooed sweetly, knowing exactly how to wake you, "Don't you want Daddy's yummy pancakes and syrup... And strawberries??"
That was all it took for you to smile big and throw your covers down, letting Uncle Soobie in his day-off-sweats, help you out of bed, holding your hand in his large one as he guided you, the sleepy baby, down the hall for breakfast.
"Look at my baby so cute in your jammies.", Kai grinned as he transferred another golden pancake from the frying pan to the stack next to him on a plate, watching you waddle up to the kitchen island, Soobin picking you up to sit in the tall chair.
When everyone finished up breakfast and started bickering over who's turn it was to load the dish washer, Kai took you back to your room to get you ready for your day out together.
"Where are we goin', Daddy??", you asked after your head popped out of the shirt he was placing over your head, helping you put your arms into the sleeves and grabbing the green and yellow polka-dotted socks he'd picked out, maybe a little biased, for your little feetsies.
"Hmm... I'll give you a hint. One place we're going has lots of Daddies!", he teased and did a little waddled before kneeling again to tie your shoe laces. It took you a moment and you tilted your head, deep in thought.
‘Daddies?’
"Do you think he told her yet?", Beomgyu turned to Taehyun, plopping down on the living room sofa after he'd unenthusiastically finished loading the dishwasher, having lost rock-paper-scissors three times in a row to the other.
"DADDY ARE WE GONNA SEE PENGUINS??!", rang through the dorm along with Kai's deep chuckle as he led you from he bedroom.
"Safe to say 'yes'.", Taehyun smirked, not looking up from his phone.
Grabbing his car keys, Kai let everyone say their goodbyes, engaging with their littlest baby and wishing you good luck on your adventure.
Once you were buckled in safely, your journey began. Your Daddy played your favorite songs on the car radio, laughing and singing along with you even though your music taste was quite a bit different from his, especially when you were small.
The first destination wasn't quite what you were expecting, a place where you and Daddy and even Uncle Soobie had been before on numerous occasions; the movie theatre. Reaching over after taking off his seatbelt, he unfastened yours and got out of the car to fetch his baby.
"Got your (plushie name)?", he smiled down at the friend you kept tucked safely in your arms as he reached for one of your hands to help you from the car. Nodding with a faint blush dusting over your cheeks, you thought and thought on what movie you could possibly be seeing.
"PAW PATROL?!", you squealed as quietly as possible into your Daddy's back as he spoke to the man at the counter. He held back his giggle, bringing you around to stand in front of him so you could make your selection of concessions but you were far too afraid of strangers to speak to the man yourself. Knowingly he leaned down a little so you could whisper in his ear like you always did. After you'd decided his eyebrows shot up with a bit of concern.
"Are you sure, baby girl? Daddy doesn't want you to miss your movie because we have to take you potty in the middle of it."
"I won't!! I promise!!", you whined, poking out your bottom lip and tugging on his sleeve, giving your best attempt at puppy eyes. His expression melted as easy as ever and you knew you'd won as you often did. (Uncle Tyunnie would bug him about the spoiling later.)
"Can we get two large drinks and a large tub of popcorn??", Kai's voice shifted to his usual tone of speaking with others, not nearly as gentle and sugary as the one he used with you. Tugging on his sleeve again until you were satisfied, the corner of his lip twitched into the smallest of smiles, "And some sour patch kids and swedish fish."
Pulling you in front of him again, he waddled coward with you, toward the end of the counter so the group behind you could go next, "Sorry babygirl, Daddy nearly forgot.", he grinned.
“Can we get cheese powder??"
"On all this?? what are you making??", he chuckles but agrees because he's curious as well "Hmm. White cheese powder??"
You nodded and he takes the shaker from the concessions "Tell me when, princess."
After more than a couple shakes he glanced at your wide eyed stare as you watched the powder fall onto the candy and warm buttery popcorn.
“More?”, he laughed unsurely, lightening the pressure of the shakes as you decided.
“More!!”, you giggled, holding out your finger under the shaker to taste some of the powder, squeaking as it touched your tongue. It was definitely stronger than you’d expected.
“Is that good, little one?”, he cackled loudly at your reaction, halting the shaker. Nodding enthusiastically you waddled off toward the big hall that led to the viewing rooms.
“I’ll take that as enough.”, he smirked, setting it down and raising an eyebrow at the powder covered kernels, shaking it as he followed.
After the movie and your fill of popcorn, Kai having to eat the rest when your tummy got full (to his surprise it was much tastier than he’d thought it’d be.) the two of you greeted the staff again. Confused you followed along, habitually chewing on your straw with your plushie tucked in your arm as he spoke to the man at the concessions.
“Thank you so much.”, he bowed to the man and held out his hand for hours so you could finally leave. Once he’d buckled you in, he pulled out two lollis, unwrapped the first, placing it in your mouth before enjoying his own.
“No more biting your straw, you know it’s bad for those precious little teethies.”, he smiled.
“Tank oo, Daddy!!”, giggling you agreed and settled comfort in your seat as he started the car.
Before you’d even arrived at the aquarium, you’d succeed in chewing up your lolli, another bad habit of yours, and munched on the paper stick until it lost its flavor in your mouth. When he noticed you’d already finished, he pulled his from his lips and popped it in yours, with a giggle.
“Nn?”, you asked, holding out your hands with the little chewed up paper stick for Daddy to discard.
“This doesn’t feel like a fair trade.”, he snickered.
Once Kai purchased your tickets, the guide, sporting a pelican hat waved the two of you over. Watching intently, the way Kai interacted with you, the man tilted his head curiously.
“Come on over and I can get your bracelets secured for you!”, he spoke sweetly, in a gentle and friendly voice but you were unsure.
“He’s gotta put your bracelet on! It’s okay, baby.”, Kai assured you, nudging his head in the direction of the guide’s outreached hand. Slowly you held your wrist out, wishing you hadn’t left your trusty plushie in the car so you’d have something to squeeze tightly other than your Daddy’s hand.
“What are you here to see today??”, the man’s voice hushed just slightly as his tone changed as though he was speaking to a child while fastening your bracelet. Looking up at the man, then at your Daddy, you pressed your lips firm until you received another reassuring nod.
“Daddy bringin’ me to see the penguins…”, you spoke shyly.
“Oh, really?”, the guide gasped, “I talked to the penguins just this morning! They’re really looking forward to your visit! Say ‘hi’ to them for me!”, he winked with a grin, letting you pass to help the next person.
Walking through the aquarium you pointed at every shiny colorful creature that caught your eyes, spending far too long at the touch tank. Kai guided your hand to touch things you were a little too frightened to touch without Daddy’s help. He couldn’t help but find it cute how both you and the little creature flinched at each other’s touch.
Taking your hand again, Kai led you through the aquarium until you reached a long hall painted with pictures of fish swimming under the ice. When you saw the sign for the penguins you squealed loudly and waddled ahead, dragging you chuckling Daddy along with you until the walls turned to glass and you were greeted by sleek white and black coats and creatures who waddled just like you. Only the tiniest of gasps left your lips as you placed your hands on the glass, unblinking as you watched the shiny aquatic birds hop around and communicate with each other.
Letting you have your moment, Kai took the time to enjoy one of his favorite animals as well, stroking your hair as the two of you watched. It was a breathtaking moment if the silence wasn’t a tell. It wasn’t the first time you’d seen penguins of course, but he wondered if it was your first time small, seeing these things. It was your first time there together, of course.
After spending ample time with the penguins, you ended up in front of the aquariums biggest ocean tank, holding a wide assortment of colorful fish, sharks and creatures you’d never seen before. Leaning against the bars, Kai right behind you, his hands found their favorite home on your tummy as you watched, dreamy eyed as the fish swam leisurely through the waters. In awe, you drank up the vivid blues water and vibrant colorful corals, the lights reflecting off many fish’s scales as a they swam in an elegant dance with one another. A larger creature made its way around the front of the tank, making your eyes practically pop out of your head as you pushed off the bar, jumping and pointing at this new exciting creature you’d surely attach yourself too.
"Fishieeee!!"
"Actually, baby girl, that's a whale shark.", he pulled you back down into his arms as you giggled,"haha ask me how Daddy knows that."
"Unca Tyunnie??", you grinned, knowingly.
"Yup, Unca Tyunnie.", Kai laughed, partially in agreement but partially because of how cute and precious you sounded. Your baby talk was something he loved and lived for and all the guys agreed it was something they adored.
"Unca tyunnie is smart but Daddy is smarter!!", you babbled, attention now back on him now that the whale shark had swam a little further out of sight.
"Awww you little flatterer.”, he lifted you to the tips of your toes, swinging you a bit in his arms, “I dont know where you get it from", he chuckled as if he didn’t know you, in fact, had gotten it from him.
It’d been a lovely afternoon with your Daddy and he had let you linger at each spot as long as he could but once the aquarium visitors began to empty out, it was time for you to go. There was nothing better to bandage your sad heart as you bid farewell to your new aquatic friends than a final stop at the gift shop.
Thankfully, you’d gotten quite used to Kai’s open wallet, getting past the phase of overbuying and content getting just enough of you’d have bought the whole shop. And he might have let you. After some wandering around and teasing as your Daddy made each of the plushies that caught his attention give your their fair share of tickles, you settled on two new friends. A new penguin (as if Kai didn’t have enough of these at home) and a whale shark, which you’d added at the top of your favorite animals list after a very memorable date with your Daddy.
Returning home with three plushie friends instead of one was the perfect ending to the perfect day.
"Is this Daddy?”, Kai pinched th e little penguins hand as he buckled in his worn out baby for the final time, “and you’re my baby shark??"
It was in that moment that Huening Kai Kamal experience a rare realization, regretting his decision to open his mouth.
"DADDY CAN WE LISTEN TO BABY SHARK?!"
Defeat. If you didn’t hassle your Daddy every so often, where would you be? So, he trudged to his seat, started the car and went through his Spotify until he found it. One of his least favorite songs to finish off his favorite day. At least it matched the theme.
"AAAGHHH! I just got it out of my head!”

not a request, just a thought I had to get out somewhere
little!dino wetting the bed bc before bed he thought he would impress you by not wearing a diaper to bed but surprise surprise, he totally blows it and wets the bed. so poor baby wakes up in tears, which wakes you up and you comfort him, telling him you're proud of him for making it that long without a diaper </3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor Channie 😭 He’d be so pouty and sulky honestly 😭 when he sneakily abandoned his diaper, he was just going solely on the idea of you being so proud of him being such a big boy. It was almost morning too. He almost made it 🤧 you got it next time, love bug.
“Wan’ed to be a big boy. *sob* s-sor-rry.”
Little sweetie would just cry and sniffle the whole time even as you changed him, changed the sheets, all the way until you put him back to bed. He’d probably forget about it in the morning though. He’s so cute ㅠ ㅠ
have some pouty Dino ~ 🐶🐰🍓

Shaking off his coat as quietly as possible, Joshua sighed to himself seeing you'd waited up for him again. Or tried to anyways. There was his girl; curled up around your stuffed bunny for warmth on the sofa in his biggest oversized t-shirt... without a blankie. That wouldn't do at all.
He could never find it in his heart to be upset when you stayed up, waiting for him to come home because, really, he understood painfully and completely. Comeback season seemed to be year round or at least that’s how it felt these days, imagining you eating dinner alone or how often he’d find you asleep without him before he could make it home. He missed you too. Finding whatever strength left in his achey, tired limbs he lifted you in his arms and carried you to bed.
No matter how tired he was Joshua couldn’t find it in himself to fall asleep or even turn out the lights, too lost in your beauty, wanting to ingrain your image in his mind. His hand smoothed over your hair gently, more out of habit, again, then once more without thinking. But eventually, unable to find yourself in a deep sleep without your daddy, your eyes fluttered open. How could they not?
“Dada..? Home??” You couldn’t really remember when or where you’d fallen asleep as you took in your surroundings, rubbing your eyes and leaning into the comforting warmth of his hand atop your head.
“I’m sorry, bunny. I didn’t mean to wake you..” the corner of his lips curled softly, part of him happy that he woke you, even missing out on sleep, he’d get to be with you, to see your pretty eyes sparkling up at him.
“Is okay. Sleep now?” Your eyes had already closed again, your lips barely moving as he smiled so tender, his sleepy eyed baby unable to stay awake.
“Yeah. Sleep now.”
His soothing movements didn’t stop for some time – not wanting to disrupt your sleep, or look away as he watched over you adoringly – not until he’d fallen asleep himself. And the next morning, the two of you would find the lamp still on, Joshua still in his work clothes.

Celebrity
It felt like the two of you had been waiting for this event for longer than you’d been together. That wasn’t the case of course, but there was nothing more important to Jihoon. More than his career and his relationship with you, than the critical decision to finally go public with you. The announcement of your attendance to the biggest awards show in the Korean entertainment industry had been released to the public just a month before and each day since had passed incredibly slow, anticipation flipping back and forth from excitement to nauseating anxiety and back again. He’d shield your eyes and ears from those spreading hate so you would only be surrounded with the rosy glow of all his fans and friends who supported the two of you wholeheartedly. Anything to lessen the pressure.
It had helped, he had helped. But with the day finally upon you, honestly it hadn’t felt real. A good morning kiss from Jihoon and another before he left for work as usual. But it wasn’t as usual, you both had a big day ahead of you. The pressure still monumental.
“Today’s the day. Still sleepy, baby?” He’d shared a thoughtful smile with you when he stopped by for his final goodbye kiss for the day, your eyes still closed, not quite awake yet.
He’d let you sleep in a little longer, knowing you had a million alarms and the two of you had planned everything down to your eye makeup for this event. It would be okay… everything would be fine. As he collected the rest of his things, closing the door quietly so he wouldn’t wake you, Jihoon’s mind wandered, thinking unwillingly, dolefully of all the support they’d lost. It was worth it, without a doubt. But still, he hadn’t taken even a second to mourn, looking away, scrolling past, putting down his phone as to not expose you or make you any more anxious than you already were. So you’d never have to worry that he might regret his choice for a single second. Jihoon wanted this, to share his world with you, and you with the world. It was time.
Waking up without him was more common than you liked but at the same time, both you and Jihoon liked your ‘You time’. You took your time getting up, stretching and basking in the sun a moment as you open the curtains in your room on your way to the bathroom. Then onto the most important meal of the day, you chopped fruit for your cereal and took your place in front of the television and put on your latest favorite show.
When you finally opened your eyes for the morning, the curtains were shut, leaving the rooms comfortable, dim darkness. Perfect for sleeping until noon, you learned as you picked up your phone, rolling over to find the bedside next to you, made up neatly as usual. Jihoon was a little too good at sneaking out without waking you. But you appreciated it. Sleeping in when you could wasn’t rare, but it was always a treat.
Taking your time, a little before noon you finally rolled out of bed, opening your curtains and standing in the warmth of the rising sun just a little longer before starting your morning routine; brushing your teeth, breakfast, getting dressed for the day. You skipped the last part, settling for a bowl of cereal in front of the television, comfortable in your pajamas.
A few hours later you realized you overestimated how long you would be able to sit in front of the tv and do nothing, finding yourself pulling your hair back and scanning your apartment. Seeing your abandoned bowl on the counter you got to washing dishes first, moving around your kitchen, wiping counters until light clutter here and there lead you through each of the rooms in your home. All tucker out, you crashed again on the sofa, still in your pjs and only an hour and a half burned, 3 to go. A ding from your phone caught your attention.
‘Good morning, beautiful. Did you eat yet?? I’m getting lunch with some of the guys now’ - 🍚 my rice boy 🍚
Smiling to yourself you pushed down the urge to reply snarkily that it was in fact; no longer morning.
‘I had breakfast a few hours ago! Just got done cleaning the entire house 🙈😝 send help I’m actually bored out of my mind’
Pushing send you glanced around again, maybe you’d missed something, but apparently your mind was hellbent not to relax during your only downtime. Not long after, your phone dinged again.
‘Maybe watch a few episodes of that show you’ve been trying to get to? I’ll see you later 🫰’ - 🍚 my rice boy 🍚
You found yourself smiling again at his sign off. Jihoon had come far from his dry texting days, with your help of course. To others it didn’t seem like much but they weren’t there to see the frequent ‘👍’ and ‘yes/no’ to questions that definitely needed elaboration. He always insisted he was more of a phone call type of guy. Somehow this same man was writing and producing award winning albums for an internationally famous KPOP group.
Setting your phone down on the glass coffee table, you swapped it out for the remote again, and began scrolling through Netflix. If you watched the new drama you’d been wanting to finish, you wouldn’t be able to relax or pull yourself away. You mumbled mindlessly to yourself, settling on a show you’d watched more than a couple times now, possibly more than you could count on two hands. It was comforting and while it wasn’t around when you were growing up, it gave you the same nostalgic feeling. While the intro played, you stood to fetch yourself a drink, grabbing your favorite plush before you headed back to the living room to plop on the sofa, baby blue mug in hand just in time for the intro to end.
Curling around your plush, you found yourself stretching out, resting your head on a throw pillow as the second and third episodes rolled around. It was too late when you became conscious of your heavy eyelids and tired body, your eyes already fluttering shut.
Some time later a warm hand shifted on your tummy, big, strong arms squeezing you slightly, just enough to pull you to his body, a safe cocoon around you. When your eyes blinked open, your vision, the room - no - the world was hazy. When had you moved to your bed? And when had Jihoon come home. Thoughts didn’t stick in your mind long, brushed away by the fuzzy, warm feelings surrounding you, coating every touch, sound, even his smell.
“You think too much.” He muttered, lips against your ear, still half asleep. He always seemed to know when you were awake, even if you were completely still.
Your cheeks tingled, your lips stretching into a sleepy smile as you shimmied and twisted to face him.
“Aah, no.”, he complained, eyebrows creasing as he closed his eyes even tighter, feeling quite noncompliant to your decision to wake up, “I can’t even cuddle you??”
“Ehehe.. You can…”, you giggled when he allowed you, even welcomed you rubbing your nose against his, “But you’re gonna be mad..”
Jihoon opened his eyes, looking at you quizzically. His silly expression only making you laugh more.
“I gotta pee!!” you squealed, squirming out of his hold.
Still groggy, he grasped what he could of you, your warmth quickly leaving the moment you shifted from his chest. A series of desperate, complaining ‘no’s repeating as he fought with you and the blankets to keep you in his arms a little longer.
Something so simple..
The front door slammed as Jihoon strode urgently through your apartment, not stopping to remove his shoes as he threw his bag to the floor. His mind hardly registered you rousing from your sleep on the sofa as he passed you to tear through your room, his clothes, and anything in his way so uncharacteristically. Each harsh clatter of clothes hangers or thud of a shoe made your heart jump a little as you rubbed the sleepy from your eyes, anxious and confused. Your hands tightened almost painfully around the soft fabric of your blanket, squeezing and pulling it to your chest as you listened. You still hadn’t collect your thoughts, only anxiously wondering what could have made him so mad.
Not long later he was trudge back to the living room, his stylists could take care of the rest. Just when he thought he couldn’t lose his head anymore, you were still sitting on the sofa, your hair a mess, in your Saturday pajamas.
“Y/n-“, he held his head, turning away from you to take a breath but a quick glance at his watch and he was boiling.
“Why are you..?” Your words wouldn’t come out, your voice trapped in your lungs as your eyes flittered over his composure, nearly trembling with an anger that frightened you, silenced you.
“What do you mean why am I-“, how you could ask that was baffling to him, “Where is your head? We don’t have time.”
Your eyes stung with tears as he stepped toward you, and you could only try not to cry pathetically as he picked you up and carried you to the bathroom. He wasn’t angry. He wasn’t. He repeated that over and over in his head. There was just no time. Small and insignificant couldn’t begin to describe the feeling you were drowning in, the ache of fear in your heart of the one person who always made you feel safe. You watched him speed around, fetching your clothes, fixing your hair and makeup. Looking right through you.
“Appa mad-“
“Y/n, we cannot do this right now. PLEASE.” He did look at you this time, right into your eyes. But you didn’t recognize this man. And that was all it took.
The makeup he applied streaked down your cheek, one tear, two, and soon your face was a streaky mess. Worse off, he took a step back when he realized his first thought was regret that he hadn’t chosen a waterproof mascara.
“SHIT!” He cursed, not sure at what. Not at you. But all you heard was your Appa yelling and cursing at you.
“I don’t wanna!!” Sobbing, you squirmed out of your dress, plopped onto the bathroom floor and just wailed.
He was on the verge of pulling out his hair, his mind whirring, messy, but the sound of your cry rang clear. None of this mattered at all without you.
“Baby-“ he sighed, softening. But maybe too stubborn or just plain distraught you continued to sob and fret.
“Baby, look at me.”, Jihoon grabbed your face in his hands, he needed you to focus even knowing it would be so hard at a time like this, “Appa is not mad.”
Blinking, tears still dripping from your eyelashes, how could you believe him? He only held your face like this when you got into trouble or when you had serious talks.
“I made Appa late…” your voice shook as you worked your little mind around the situation, each word threatening to turn into a cry and then a wail.
“No, baby.”, he did his best to fruitlessly catch your tears with his thumbs, “Appa made Appa late.”
Your sobs stopped in confusion. Eyes still blurry, you blinked away your tears until you could see him clearly. The confusion only grew seeing a soft smile, a sad look still in his eyes while he looked over your puffy, teary features.
“I got caught up in the studio. Same old story, right? I was thinking about you, about us. This is a big night for us, isn’t it?”
A handful of words could only do so much couldn’t they? But these words were pure and potent, a spell strong enough to calm your mind. They were true, he should have been home with more than enough time to wake you and get ready alongside you tonight. Jihoon continued, slowly working at your hair as he spoke.
“I was writing a song I want you to hear someday. Words and melodies that make me think of you. Once I started recording, I guess time got away from me.” Finished with your hair, he used a cotton pad soaked in makeup remover to clean up your eye makeup.
“That wasn’t fair of Appa, huh? This isn’t your fault, kiddo”, he gave you a kiss before tapping some pink gloss on your pouting lips. To his surprise, you took his hand in both of yours with the sweetest expression, your watery eyes big when you spoke.
“It’s okay, Appa. It’ll be okay.”
He could help but laugh and kiss your head. His lips pressed firmly against the top of your head, eyebrows scrunched together, he hoped you could feel every ounce of love he had for you.
“Okay, baby-”, he held your face between his hands again, serious time had returned, this time much less scary now that you’d calmed down, “Can you be big for Appa, tonight?”
Nodding as he squished your cheeks, you sat up straight speedily, letting him help you get ready for your big evening. The stylist would have to forgive him for being late this time. Everything would be okay as long as he had you.

Back 2 Back
“Should I come in? It looks pretty full.” Minghao laughed as he entered the bathroom where Jun had joined you for bath time. Who was responsible for the mass amounts of bubbles and the empty bottle of bubble bath on the floor would remain a mystery.
“Bàba! Are you gonna come in too?” You asked, pouting with big puppy eyes, the bubble tower Jun had been building on your head nearly flying off as you splashed excitedly in the tub.
Jun suppressed his snickering. Even though Hao knew exactly what you were doing, it didn’t decrease its power at all.
Minghao immediately grumbled and started taking off his clothes, grabbing a towel for when he’d get out. A minute or two wouldn’t hurt. Sinking into the bubbles with a side of water, he was surprised it didn’t spill over the edge, though it tried. You giggled happily and moved to snuggle against him.
“Wahh now Daddy’s cold” Jun complained, making a show of shivering as if 80% of his body wasn't submerged in warm water. He was completely shameless about begging for your attention, always one-upping Hao. Still, you hadn’t seen your Bàba all day. Daddy would survive without you for just a little bit.
“Oh hush.” Hao rolled his eyes, his airy giggle making your heart fluttery and warm. Warmer than the bath or his arms that came snuggly around you as he left a kiss on your nose and smoothing away the bubbles on your head.
“Did he even wash you yet, Niū Niū?” he teased, poking two fingers at your side to make you squeal.
“Hey!” Jun snorted into the water, his body now submerged almost fully, stopping just below his nose as he waited patiently for his Xiǎo gōng zhǔ to return to him.
“Yep! All clean!! Daddy let me shower with him before we got in the bath!”, you nodded, resting your cheek against him as he cupped your face in his hands sweetly.
“Even behind your ears?” Minghao rubbed his nose against yours, eyes crinkled affectionately as he smiled.
Jun grumbled to himself and considered splashing a nice sized wave in Hao’s direction but deemed it wasn’t worth it, you being the casualty.
“All clean! Daddy washes the bestest!” You beamed before bringing one hand over the side of your mouth, whispering not so quietly, “but Bàba dries the bestest”
“Yah! I heard that!!”
You giggled and found yourself in Jun’s arms again, the complaints immediately coming to a halt.
“Okay! Daddy be the yellow ducky and Bàba be the green ducky and I can be the baby ducky. I have to be because it’s pink, see?”
“Yes I see. But you’re always gonna be the baby no matter what, little ducky.” Jun teased and kissed your cheek loudly with a ‘MWAH’.
Both of them took their acting parts very seriously, playing and splashing along with you proudly until the water was cold.
“Look, kitten. Bàba is shivering. He’s not invincible at all.” Jun laughed.
“I never claimed to be!” Hao defended. Why was he defending himself? Who wouldn’t be shivering sitting in cold water?? There was plenty of room to tease your cold-loathing-Bàba, but he wasn’t the one whose teeth were chattering away even being embraced in your Daddy’s warmth.
“I cold too, Daddyyy.” You frowned, shaking and wiggling in place impatiently as Jun stood with a smile. Fetching the towel and opening it wide for you. Anything for you.
“What about me?” Hao pouted, betrayed.
“Get your own.” Jun stuck his tongue out as he squeezed your tight and began drying you off.
“But I got that one.” Hao huffed and flipped the plug for the tub before getting out to fetch another towel. He’d have to dry quick, he was the best dryer after all. But by the time he dried off and began dressing, Jun had you sat on the counter, wrapped in your towel and was already blow drying your hair.
“That’s my job!” Hao insisted and Jun gave him the hair dryer with a grin, only teasing and went to fetch himself some clothes. Though if he had it his way he’d probably never wear clothes.
Once your hair was dry, you half asleep and barely noticing the blaring, cozy air had stopped, Minghao made quick work of winding it up and tucking it away in the cupboard.
“Oh I thought it was movie night, Baōbèi. Bedtime already?” He beamed so fondly, stroking your soft locks before tucking a piece gently behind your ear.
“Huh?” With that your eyes shot open, remembering you had to be the first to the sofa to have first pick.
Hopping off the counter, leaving a giggling Bàba behind, you zoomed out of the bathroom and down the hall to the living room to find your Daddy grinning smugly with the remote in his hand. Before you could pout, he opened his arms wide and pulled you into his lap when you crashed into him, giving you the remote.
“That’s cheating.” Hao plopped down beside you, putting his arm over the back of the sofa as you fumbled with the buttons, “let Bàba do it.”
They liked to play pretend sometimes as if anyone but you would be picking the film. Happy with your choice, once the movie was playing, the three of you became a tangle of limbs under a throw blanket until inevitably you’d fall asleep in their arms

Run to You
By no means was Jeonghan out of shape or weak. He was known to be able to pull great athletic feats and have seemingly endless energy out of nowhere when the time arose. But most times, his stamina was short and he’d more than often rather be asleep, surviving on too much caffeine from a stream of never ending iced americano and his responsibility to you; his hyper little angel. And, God, did you like to keep him on his toes.
Thankfully, he wasn’t completely alone in looking after you, making sure you got out all your zoomies before bedtime. Every so often, he’d call up his dongsaengs and set up a playdate with a little who was sure to tire you out.
“Thanks, Jihoon-ah. Really… I love my little gremlin but I don't know how you handle yours.”, Jeonghan chuckled into his cell, pulling his lip between his teeth as he leaned back to peek around the corner, making sure you were still where he left you. The only time you seemed to sit still was when you were sitting in front of the television with your favorite snack.
Ending the call with a small smile, he finished getting his bag together, making sure his baby would have anything you could possibly need and some you didn’t for your afternoon at the park. When you were finished eating, he began the long process of chasing you around, yelling after your giggles that were surely insanity, and making sure you were ready in your play clothes. And he still had to figure out how to get ready himself. All the while, running in circles, he reminded himself that the pay off would be well worth it.
“Okay, angel. Up.”, Jeonghan shook his hair out of his eyes, tossing his bag over his shoulder with a huff and held his arms out. He enjoyed this part, trying not to grin at the way your face always lit up.
“Uppies!!”, you giggled, running toward his arms so he could lift you and prop you on his hip with a drawn-out groan as he straightened his back. Thank god it was only you around, he’d have to admit he was getting old.
“We are gonna go get Appa a coffee before we stop at the park. Think you can manage?”, he chuckled, carrying you out the door.
“Uh-huh! Can I hab a strawberry milk again?”, you asked, twirling and curling his soft, black hair around your fingers as he walked you down the hall.
None of his friends could ever understand why Jeonghan constantly ignored their advice. Especially when he so frequently, and annoyingly, one might add, complained about being tired and having a broken back. You were perfectly capable of feeding yourself, walking on your own, drinking from a cup, yet still, Jeonghan wouldn't hear of letting you do a single thing on your own. Sometimes he wondered if he needed you more than you needed him. Couldn’t he just find that in taking care of any of his dongsaengs? No. In fact, he’d rather die. (A joke of course). It was just you. The bond he had with you, the desire to be needed by you, to care for you, couldn’t be replicated in any way. He enjoyed helping you escape, wholeheartedly. You so greatly deserved it.
“You want more sugar? Didn’t Appa let you have cereal for breakfast because you didn’t want eggs?”, he asked, though there was no way he’d say ‘no’ to you. Not in the end anyways.
“I want cereal because Uncle Shuji says Appa cooking is stinky!!” You corrected him quite blatantly with a giggle. Cooking was not one of his many talents, he had to accept that. Still hurt, though.
Sighing with a shake of his head, he put you down in the elevator. After pressing the button for the ground floor, he made sure his wallet was in his pocket, you only wanted to lose that once and Mingyu had lost his enough times for all thirteen of them. Then Jeonghan held his arms out for you again once the elevator door dinged and opened. Not a single smile nor pout for him? So much for ‘your face always lit up’ when he called for you. Maybe he really did need you more than you needed him.
“Can we run to the shop, Appa?”, you asked innocently. Ah, there it was. Your head was always more in space than he could ever imagine it to be. Malicious was not a word in your vocabulary, even when it came to criticisms on his cooking. Your intentions were simple and pure.
Still, frowning at your rejection, Jeonghan looked out the elevator doors, trying to imagine the path to the shop. It was only a couple minutes down the road but he’d likely be chasing after you most of the day anyways.
“How about you save all your energy for Soonyoung-ah, yeah? You little boogers can run your hearts out when we get to the park.”, He prayed for mercy and thankfully, you complied.
With their busy schedules you only got to meet with Soonyoung, sometimes Mingyu, maybe once or twice a month at most. And exactly as he hoped, each time you’d fall asleep not long after he picked you up to carry you home for the evening. You’d be much more docile and cuddly the next couple of days once you’d tired yourself out. The little demon they called Hoshi always managed to be the best outlet for letting out all of your energy.
Jeonghan watched and chatted with you fondly as you pointed out little things during your walk to the park, picking up a rock you deemed was special or spotting a puppy on the streets around you. After stopping for a coffee and that strawberry milk, the two of you made it to your destination fairly quickly. Thankfully, Jihoon always agreed to meet closer to home so Jeonghan wouldn’t have to worry about traveling with you. Though maybe not so lucky for him when dealing with Hoshi.
“Appa~” you complained, sitting on the park bench hand-in-hand in front of the playground “when will Hoonie Soonie get heree??”
“‘Hoonie Soonie’, huh?” Jeonghan logged that one with a snicker before squinting at a Jihoon shaped man in baggy clothes, not that he was dressed much differently, “Oh, there-“
“HORANGHAEEE!!” You squealed, your hand tearing from Jeonghan’s as you ran excitedly across the playground to crash into Hoshi who bounced around with you, more than happy to match, even double your energy. Jeonghan was surprised he was able to dress the kid in two separate articles of clothing. Though it was just a T-shirt and overalls, most of the time it was a battle to get him out of his tiger onesie at all.
The two of you immediately took off in a game of tag while Jihoon found his spot next to Jeonghan, sighing as he leaned back as they watched their little ones, finally able to relax a little now that his little tiger was occupied. But maybe he jinxed himself. An hour full of giggles and squeals later, both you and Hoshi ran up to the bench giggling and covering your mouths.
“Appa…look what I found!” you moved your little hand from behind your back, opening your fist to show a particularly interesting shaped woodchip. After staring at it for a moment, not quite sure how he was meant to react, glancing at Jihoon who had no answer for him, he had no choice but to wing it.
“Wah… can Appa take a closer look? Where’d you find this, Angel? While you were playing by the slide?” Jeonghan smiled a bit too wide, convincing you that you were laying him right into the palm of your hand.
“We found it and this boy tried to-” Hoshi’s mouth was quickly covered by your free hand. Nothing suspicious at all. Jeonghan cracked a genuine smile, his little miss bossy pants.
“Isn’t it cool?? You can have it if you and Hoonie come play with us! But you have to chase us and then we get to chase you!!” You revealed your grand plan. Now how could they say no.
Victoriously, you pulled and tugged on Jeonghan’s sleeve, giggling as you urged him to get up quickly. Hoshi already had Jihoon up who was bickering and cursing under his breath, as expected. The only thing that finally freed them from endlessly circling the playground that seemed a bit too small for two grown men was Jihoon’s suggestion to get food. He knew his little rascal would be hungry sooner or later.
“I want bread! Bread! Bread!” Hoshi chanted, bouncing along as the four of you walked back to the bench to fetch your bags.
“What did we talk about? Real food. You can't just eat bread.” Jihoon threw his bag over his shoulder and held out his hand for the pouting tiger.
“Appa, I want bread too.” you whispered into his ear once Jeonghan picked you up and propped you on his hip again.
“Bread it is!” Jeonghan sometimes gave in a little too easily, but once you had your mind set, it was the path of least resistance. Of course insisting you ate something more nutritious before you could have your bread wasn’t totally giving in.
After dining in at a small restaurant nearby and making sure their two little ones had full tummies, Jeonghan and Jihoon were dragged back to the playground where they’d take part in all of your silly games. This time you and Hoshi were wild animals, a tiger and a bunny, the explorers had to catch in order to stop the end of the world. ‘How or why was the world ending’, you ask? They had no idea.
“That one looks like a fishy!” you pointed at the clouds passing overhead as you lay in Jeonghan’s lap.
The four of you had finally taken a rest on the green, more shaded area outside the playground after Jeonghan almost got on his knees to beg you. Cloud watching could be a pretty fun activity too. Especially on a random afternoon with your Appa and a full tummy at the park.
“That one looks like a tiger!!” Hoshi called out once he finished rolling across the grass back to your little group after attempting to do somersaults a safe distance from Jihoon’s head..
“Yah.. you can't call every cloud you see a tiger.” Jihoon lifted his head from the ground to see the cutest little hamster-like pout.
“Can too.” Hoshi grumbled, flopping on top of his Appa with a thud that had both you and Jeonghan cringing as Jihoon groaned.
“Yea that's enough. You obviously have more energy. I'm gonna go chase him around a bit more before it gets late. Comin’?” Jihoon asked Jeonghan while he sat Hoshi up and straightened out his clothes.
“I think we’re still cloud watching, aren't we Angel?” he smiled, brushing your hair out of your face as if he wasn’t begging for mercy telepathically and hoping you could hear him.
“Still watchin’! That one looks like Uncle Cheolie!!” you giggled.
Following your finger Jeonghan laughed to himself when he spotted the oddly shaped cloud, not quite sure how you’d come to that conclusion. Snapping a picture, he’d be sure to tease him about it later.
The breeze was hitting just right, a gentle wind sweeping through his hair as he watched you watching the sky, Hoshi’s laughter and Jihoon’s squabbling, even the hustle and bustle of the city outside was distant and somehow pleasant. The sun slowly began to lower in the sky, orange pinks, blues, purple and orange blooming through the fluffs of clouds above. Jeonghan’s eyes closed as he took a long, deep breath, opening them again before he dozed off. Much like the sweet, sleepy thing resting now in his lap.
“Asleep already?” Jihoon laughed, picking up his bag from the ground and adjusting Hoshi who he had on his back.
“Too tired to walk?”
“You’re right. But it works every time.” they grinned.
“Same time next week?” Jeonghan pulled you into his arms and stood up with his things, your head finding its home on his shoulder.
A hopeful sentiment really. It was more likely they wouldn't have another playdate for weeks to come. But they’d enjoy the payoff of this one while they had the chance. Jeonghan, tired and achy limbs and all, would still take the long way home as the light left the sky so he could hold his hyper little angel, asleep in his arms, just a little longer.

Strawberry Moon
“Up, Baby girl!” Jun patted his lap, a gentle smile resting on his lips as he finally sat down for the evening.
When he first got home from work, he was quickly redirected to the bathroom to shower. There was no way your babysitter (s/n) would let his sweat covered self anywhere near you. With a pout he waved at his amused little one as he was pushed down the hall until he walked forward on his own. But after he was clean and dry, he came back to the living room where your sitter was saying goodnight, coat on and ready to leave. Thankfully you were already bathed and in your jammies. One less thing for his tired, achy body to worry about.
“Thank you again, s/n.”
Jun really was thankful. His work was busy work and would be for some time to come. You knew that. Though he loved his work, he wished things were different. Just a little more time with you, he’d never complain about. You both greeted the sitter goodbye before he called you to him, waiting patiently in his chair.
Abandoning your toys and crayons, you grabbed your plushie and crawled into his lap, giggling and squirming around until you were comfortable.
“Comfy, Niū niū?” He sighed happily, not minding whatever kiddie movie played on the television as he patted your bottom softly.
“Nhm!” You nodded snuggling closer, your whole body relaxing just feeling his physical presence and his soothing scent.
“Wait-“ he gasped, sitting you up straight to look you in the eyes “- where’s your paci??”
Forgetful, you couldn’t remember when you’d last had it so you only blinked at him. But your eyes began to shift as you worried, suddenly missing it now that you remembered its existence.
“Hmm.” He pressed his lips together, stroking your head, deep in thought.
“Wah?? What’s this??” His hand drew back from your hair.
As if your pacifier had been hiding there the whole time, he swung it around his finger, prideful after finding it in the bedroom while he was getting dressed.
“Daddy, you found it!! How did you do that??” You took his hand in yours and studied the pacifier around his finger but there was no trick that you could see nor that your little, regressed mind could comprehend.
“Okok. Look at that. Perfect. Have I ever told you that you’re cute?” Jun smiled as he popped it in your mouth, squishing your cheeks with one hand. Only receiving a nose scrunch and a huff of air in response to his silly comments, he grinned and pulled you back to rest on his chest.
Taking a nice deep breath, the upbeat voices, silly sounds and cheerful music coming from the television began to fade into the background. The muscles in his face relaxed as he laid his head against his comfy chair. He could fall asleep right there with you in his arms, his hand patting a gentle rhythm on your back.
“Mmnhh(Daddy)??” You pouted, taking offense at his sleepy demeanor.
“Oh, that’s right. Okay. ‘I love you’ song first.”, He remembered, chuckling breathily as he stood, hoisting you up to carry you in his arms. He kissed your nose before your head rested back on his shoulder and shut the lights off as he walked down the hall towards your bedroom.
“You are my dream~” he nuzzled your cheek, eliciting precious giggles from his baby as he walked you to bed, “~you are my love.”
Shutting the door behind him with his foot, he continued singing, sitting on the edge bed and rocking you gently for a moment before rolling over and pulling you under the covers with him. Once your giggles had settled again and you were comfortable on his chest, he sang again sweetly.
“I love you~”
Reaching to shut off the bedside lamp. He could feel your weight getting heavier against him, a sure sign he wouldn’t be singing much longer.
“wo ai ni … hmmmhmmn…” he began rubbing your back again, his nose in the crook of your neck as you began to drift off completely.
How needed, how complete he felt singing a few lines of a song he’d only sang for some drama, never knowing it would come to hold so much meaning, he hoped you’d never outgrow it. Out of habit he sang a little longer than he needed to, his voice just a mumble now as his lips moved slowly, his eyes falling shut. The sooner he fell asleep the sooner he could see you in his dreams and wake up to your pretty face tomorrow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🧸Endnote: Jun again (sorry not sorry) Wahhh I know this song is becoming overused and I totally would have used it for the title if I hadn’t already but its Junniieeee and really is my comfort song haha. I still don’t think I’ll be returning to writing regularly for the next few months but I wrote this one for myself and it was pretty complete so I figured I’d post. alsooo I will always miss his dark hair but wah the red looks so good on him and these hoodie pics are my new fav because he looks so comfy and soft ㅠ ㅠ ~ 🐶🐰🍓

Smiley
“I just had it!” Seungcheol growled through gritted teeth as he threw the cushion from the sofa to the floor alongside the drawers he had pulled out from the cabinet. He was sure he just had your favourite plushie in his hand. You had trusted him in washing your plushie after you had accidentally spilled some juice onto it and now here he was, tearing his place apart trying to find it. He cursed under his breath each time he looked at a potential hiding spot, only to be met with nothing.
Eventually, after still not being able to locate your precious plushie, Seungcheol sat down on the sofa and let out a sigh as he rubbed his hand over his face. How would he tell you? He didn’t have time to order a new one and even if he did, he couldn’t just leave you on your own without telling you where he was heading to. The image of you crying and pouting brought a slight pain to his chest, and he hung his head in shame, his hands tugging at his hair in annoyance.
“Daddy…?” A small voice pulled him out of his pity party, and he looked up at you. You had insisted on washing yourself up and you stood in the doorway all dressed up in your favourite pyjamas. Your hair was still slightly damp from your shower and your face looked shiny and clean. Seungcheol can’t help the small smile that grows as he looked at your confused face and he held his hand out to beckon you over. Once you waddled over to him, he took your hands, giving them a gentle squeeze. He let out a nervous sigh and his smile soon turned back into his infamous pout.
“Baby… I am so, so sorry… I lost your plushie. I had them in my hand and put them down for a second and it’s almost like they got up and walked away because now I can’t find them. I promise you I will keep looking and if I can’t find them at all then daddy will buy you as many plushies as you want just to make it up to you.” He rambled and he finished with a sigh. “I’m sorry for being a bad daddy.” He added. You copied your daddy’s pout and knocked his hands away before throwing yourself at him in a tight hug. Cheol can feel one hand start to play with his hair whilst the other rubbed down his back, you had clearly picked this up from when he comforted you.
“It otay daddy, you not bad.” You said softly, nuzzling your face into his cheek.
“But princess… I lost your favourite plushie.” Cheol pouted more.
“You didn’t mean to ‘nd I lose stuff sometimes, but you don’t get mad.” You said, pulling away from the hug and shrugging your shoulders. Cheol can’t help but smile at your little shrug and he pulled you back into his arms, planting sweet kisses to your cheek.
“I really have the best baby in the world huh?” He asked. You let out a giggle and planted a loud kiss onto his cheek before wiggling out of his arm. Seungcheol watched as you skipped out into the kitchen. He watched you skip off and his smile grew. Sometimes, he really couldn’t believe how lucky he was. He had been panicking so much, thinking you’d be mad or upset with him but was pleasantly surprised at your reaction.
Soft giggles pulled him out of his thoughts, and he tilted his head in confusion. He got up and leaned against the doorway.
“What’s so funny princess?” He asked, crossing his arms over his chest. You look up and point into the fridge.
“(Plushie Name) is in the fridge!” You said before shrieking with laughter. Cheol’s eyes widened at that but he couldn’t help but laugh along with you.

April Showers
Long weeks were the bane of your existence. Especially when they’d meld into one another endlessly, week after week. One long month, sometimes two, passing you, draining you like a lamprey if said lamprey fed off your energy and life force like some vice. If you were a car you’d have been running on fumes for far too long, sputtering, the hum of your engine dying out. Morbidly, you almost wondered if you’d scrap the whole thing.
The last thing you needed with deadlines approaching, stretching you so thin, was your laptop being destroyed by your clumsiness. That and a cup of coffee.
Jeonghan had been faster than you, dropping his things on the kitchen counter that edged the living room. He’d walked in the door just in time to witness disaster and attempt to solve it while you only stood there stunned and possibly on the verge of a snapping, the fearsome recoil threatening to take both of you out right there. But it felt as if you’d been there for a while now, unable to tell the difference when you’d been numbingly stressed and high-strung day after day. Any other time it may have been laughable how he nearly tore off his nice shirt, not hesitating to soak up your daily whatever-milk latte into the high thread count fabric just to try and save your hopelessly doomed laptop.
Eventually, Jeonghan’s swift and hurried movements with the sloshing fabric slowed, the liquid already soaked into your keyboard, the screen now black. A heavy sigh left his lips as he stood, wincing when he straightened his back, a few pops of his spine following.
You may have even teased him about his aging as if being in his late twenties made him old, he would have pouted and teased you right back with whatever he could come up with. An easily recognizable way the two of you coped with the tug and pull of life. But that wouldn’t do you any good now.
“You can use mine until I can take yours to get looked at.”, he pressed his lips firm and turned to you, who seemed to be holding your breath, swallowing it back in painful gulps, tears brimming at your lash line.
If - no - when he inevitably blew one huff of breath your way they’d spill over. They hadn’t spilled yet, since they floated, the room around you filled with a dense, darkening water, your ears unable to clearly hear what he’d been saying to you.
“Jagi?”, Jeonghan rested his hand on your arm, jolting you, your tears finally falling.
”Angel…”, he sighed, pulling you to his chest, still bare now that his shirt had been ruined.
The warmth of his skin was comforting but not how you would like. The security of his arms merely broke the dam holding back your emotions from the past few weeks, months even. First, you tried desperately to conceal your silent sobs, but he could feel you, squeezing you tighter. His eyes closed just as tightly, knowing exactly what those first few sobs meant.
“Don’t, baby.”, he breathed out bleakly. He hated seeing you like this. But even more so, he hated that you held it in so long that it had gotten to this point.
“Don’t hold it in. I got you.”, he pulled his bottom lip between his teeth, chewing at the skin once sound finally flooded from your throat through each sob.
“I got you.”, he nodded silently, backing the two of you up until you could fall onto the sofa together, you settled in his lap.
“Don’t wanna be big anymore.”, you could feel the walls breaking down, wearing thin after so long.
“Appa doesn’t want you to have to be big either, baby. I’m so sorry.”
For a moment, he caressed your head, then your cheek, his hand falling to yours when he noticed how tightly your fist was balled up on his chest. Usually, you had something to grab on, a shirt, a hoodie, but now you could only press your nails into your palms. He gently pried your fingers loose, wedging his between yours, deeply understanding your need for a comfort item. Especially at a time like this.
“Be gentle with these, Angel. They’re precious.”, he insisted, pressing a kiss to your knuckles.
Sniffling in question, you hadn’t realized how far you’d slipped. Just between the cracks, he pulled you through, catching you in his safety net like some fragile creature meant to be cherished.
“Precious?”, you leaned back to look at him, your quivering lip coming to a still.
“Yes, angel. All of you is precious to Appa.”, he frowned, saddened that it seemed you truly couldn’t believe it.
“Appa…”, you cried, laying your head against his smooth shoulder, “I so tired..”
“Oh, is that so?” He frowns “Tell Appa everything.”
“I-I dunno. Everyth-thing so ha-ard.”, your breath was running from you again as you tried to wipe your tears as fast as they fell, words skipping your mind and your lips as he cooed and shushed you softly.
“Oh, I know… I know. My sensitive little angel.”, he closed his eyes, the sound of your sobs so unbearable.
His comfort, his love sturdier than stone, yet a soft place for you to lay your beaten, torn heart. It wasn’t a choice anymore. You let go. The next cry that passed your lips penetrated his soul, a silent tear, maybe two materializing and dripping warm onto his skin.
“Oh, that’s a good cry. It’s okay. Let it all out on Appa.”, he’d sit there as long as you needed him to. Longer.
His hands never stilled in your hair and down your back, comforting praise spoken over and over as you wept away all your pain. The worst had passed though, your chest lighter, your breathing already slowing after some time in the solace of his arms. Soon it was quiet, the only thing signaling that you hadn't fallen asleep was your soft, wet lashes brushing against his skin whenever you blinked your heavy-lidded eyes. He let the silence marinate for a while longer, still rubbing his hand slowly up and down your back.
“All cried out?”, he spoke up, cooing sweetly.
Nodding against him, you showed no signs of moving from the safety of his embrace. And that was okay. He had nowhere more important to be. He drifted off before you did but not for long. Still he listened to your slow breaths for much longer, letting you do what you do best. Regulate him, soothe him to a state of serenity. Deciding you’d be much more comfortable curled up in bed, he lifted you in his arms, an unknown song dancing sweetly across his lips as he carried you to bed.

Boom Boom
You had been spending a lot of time Joshua. One on one. Just the two of you. No one else.
And it seemed like each time Seungkwan tried to join in, or anyone really, Baby and Jisoo time would come to an abrupt end. Things were quickly hidden away, whispers now silence. It was cute at first, two people he loved with all of his heart, voice and soul were spending time together. A lot of time together. Each time or another returning with a new bracelet, beaded or braided, handcrafted by Joshua and tied around your delicate wrist.
The fond smiles as he watched you toddle off for Shua time slowly turned to pouts and huffs, soon spiraling into unpleasant feelings. Especially with the way you seemed so perfectly trained to dodge his questions about your time together and what you’d get up to. He finally ‘snapped’ when Lee Chan himself made a harmlessly cute comment.
“Y/n kinda looks like a bunny lately, yea? Or maybe that just because they spend so much time with Shua Hyung. Double Bunny.”, Chan laughed, holding up two fingers behind his head while checking his angles on his cell phone camera.
A bunny? Double bunny? Shua Hyung? But you weren’t a bunny at all. You weren’t like Joshua. You were like him. His BBB (Baby Boo Bear). Grumpy Kwannie decided to stay from then on.
Leaving Boo to his thoughts, Chan took off to go out with a few of the guys, not noticing how deep Seungkwan had sunk over one simple comment. Checking the time, he hadn’t realized how long he’d sat there, waiting for you so that the two of you could go to bed. So with a never ending pout, he trudged to his room and fell backwards onto his bed with a loud sigh.
When you finally made an appearance , you were barely able to contain your excitement, hopping in place once you’d found Boo, on his phone in bed. This time no new bracelet joined the few that we’re currently tied around your wrist, but that didn’t really matter. Or did it? That’s where you’d been all afternoon.
“Appa!! Appa, I found you!”
“Shua Hyung didn’t make you another bracelet this time?”, he asked without looking up from the meaningless scrolling on his phone.
“Huh??”, you asked, not dwelling on it too long before your precious agenda again occupied your mind, “Appa!! I gotta show you something!!”
“Why don’t you go show Joshua… Hyung.”, Boo added the honorific at the end with a roll of his eyes, his jealousy getting the best of him.
“But I made it for you…”, you frowned, your hands still holding the small object he hadn’t bothered to lift his head to look at until now.
A small bracelet, just larger than yours, beaded with baby blue, navy and silver beads of different sizes rested in your hands. You’d laid it out flat in your palms to show off your craftsmanship in its entirety. Tension formed between Seungkwan’s brows as they knitted together, many unidentified emotions swirling in his head.
“You made this for Appa?”, he asked, reaching out to take it with your permission.
“Shua taught me!! It took a long time to get it just right.”, you explained, shyly holding up the bracelets tied around your wrist, “I wanted to make pretty ones like Shua does for you, Appa.”
“Come here, baby. Let’s see.”, he opened his arms for you, letting you crawl into his lap, holding up the bracelet proudly.
“It’s so prett-“, Seungkwan suddenly gasped, “What happened to your poor little fingers, baby???”
Taking them in his hands, he kissed each navy blue bandaid on random sections of your fingers, looking up at you with worry.
“My fingers got all red so Shua got me bandaids. Appa likes blue right??”
And he felt quite silly for his feelings as he sat there with you so giggly in his lap, so proud and so eager for his approval. By god you had it, of course you did.
“I do. I do, baby. Aigoo… you worked so hard, didn’t you, baby boo?”, he frowned, pressing his lips to your fingers over and over.
“Can we put it on??”, you held up the bracelet again, beaming ear to ear with hopeful, shining eyes.
Immediately he helped you tie it to his wrist, making a promise to himself to never get so jealous over something so silly and to be happy when you spent time with the people he loved. This promise was broken two hours later, the two of you having a late night snack when one of his previously favorite people came home for the evening. But the way you so eagerly ran and jumped into Moon Junhui’s arms would have to be discussed another day.

🧸Endnote: YOUR CALL HAS BEEN HEARD! And I am the angst queen so I had to give Boo his first angst 🤭 my first real jealousy troupe. I know this isn’t what we were expecting but I’m biased x5 😅 so BooShua? Absolutely 🫶 ~ 🐶🐰🍓

My I
“Come, Bāobèi.”, Minghao held out his hand this time, patiently (with all of his willpower) waiting for you to get tired of petting some poor woman’s fluff of a dog so the two of you could continue the task at hand.
The two of you were on your way to the bakery, taking a more scenic route through the neighborhood to admire the beauty of such a perfect day. Minghao was on the fence about his decision, but he had to admit your tendency to get distracted by anything small, cute or fluffy was beautiful in itself.
What was at the bakery? Something special for a very special day. It took forever for you and Minghao to agree on the perfect cake for Wen Junhui. Nothing would ever be good enough for you when it came to your Daddy. It was just a few days earlier when you were there last, bickering with your Bàba about flavors and colors.
“I’m very sorry.”, Minghao had said as he bowed to the employees who would soon be victim to a little outburst if the two of you didn’t find a compromise soon.
“Why can’t it be pink, like me??”
“Bāobèi, you’re not pink. And Jun Ge doesn’t like pink as much as you do, does he?”
Choosing a color was somehow much harder than choosing the flavor, the both of you immediately agreeing on lemon for your lemon-loving-catboy (at least that’s how Minghao would tell it). Jun had never been very adamant about his favorite color. Colors were swell and all, but usually, he just stuck with black and white. But while Minghao thought the combination was classy, artistic, maybe perfect, you wouldn’t stand for the lack of color.
“That’s true…”, you frowned, crossing your arms in front of you.
“How about we have a snack, hmm? Everything looks really tasty, doesn’t it?”
It had been thirty minutes easily, and Hao was worried the two of you would never get out of there. And even worse, he was worried you would get overwhelmed and have a tantrum right there.
“Look Bàba!! The pudding is a kitty just like Daddy!!”, you turned to the glass, pointing at the cute little dessert with shiny brown eyes and creamy looking texture.
“We’ll take one of those and if you have any cake samples.”, he nodded to the bakery clerk with a tight smile before breathing out in a silent sigh.
Between spoonfuls of custardy pudding, Minghao fed you nibbles of the cake sample platter, still trying to keep at the task at hand.
“What did you think of that one, Bāobèi?? I think Jun Ge would like the chocolate.”
“Bàba would like the chocolate.”, with a giggle, you shook your head and rolled your eyes playfully before reaching for a pretty slice of thin, yellow cake.
Sitting back in his seat, Minghao let you feed yourself, glancing over at the display cakes. Neither of you had really settled on a design either.
“Bàba! It’s lemon!!”, you squeal, kicking your feet happily. You didn’t love lemon. But your Daddy did. He was infamous for his lemon jellies and eating lemons as a party trick.
“It’s good, huh? Should I try some?”
“Yes, yes. It’s perfect for Daddy!”, you insist, lifting your spoon to his lips with a nicely sized scooped piece of lemon cake.
Letting it melt in his mouth slowly in thought, he pressed his lips together firmly after swallowing, having made up his mind.
“Jun Ge would like the chocolate better.”
“No, Bàba like the chocolate better!”, you huffed, standing and walking around the table so you could dig through Minghao’s bag, grumbling under your breath.
“What are you up to now, kiddo.”, he smiled, propping his chin on his hand.
“Calling Daddy.”
Hopping back up on your chair, you tapped on your Daddy’s photo, a call screen soon popping up.
“Should we be bothering Daddy while he’s at work?”, Minghao raised his eyebrow, but his competitive streak kept him still, allowing you to make the call.
“Hello, what is it?”, Jun answered the phone seeming a little surprised to receive a call from Minghao while he was on set.
“Daddy, Bàba is being silly again. What’s your favorite candy??”, you narrowed your eyes and the man smirking at you confidently across the table.
“Yep, I’m silly.”, Minghao grinned to himself, imagining Jun’s response in his head.
“Hmm… what a question. Easy. Lemon Jellies. How is he being silly, baby?”, Jun chuckled, only interrupting your call for a moment to tell someone on the other end that he would be only another few minutes.
“HAH!! Told you, Bàba! Daddy, tell Bàba.”, you beamed triumphantly, handing the phone across the table, and grabbing your spoon to finish off your dessert.
That settled it. It was Hao’s turn to be grumpy. Though, he wasn’t too bummed. The best part was teasing you, after all. The colors seemed to follow quickly after you’d decided on the flavor. White with a lemony yellow trim and “It’s Jun Day” lettering along with green leaf accents went perfectly with the lemon flavor.
~
It was finally the big day and no one at the bakery could say they were disappointed to see you go, not having to deal with the two of you again until your next celebration. You held onto the cake for dear life, insisting you take responsibility for it, afraid your Bàba would drop it as if you weren’t the clutz of the two of you.
“Are you sure, Bāobèi?”, Minghao winced, reluctantly releasing the box into your arms. But there was no saying ‘no’ to his little one. Unfortunately, both he and Jun spoiled you a little too much to turn back now.
“I got it! I wanna keep it safe for Daddy…”, you pointed, your puppy dog eyes always doing the trick.
Sighing out his nose, he opened the door for you, eyes shifting rapidly between your arms and feet, ready to support both you and the cake at any second if he had to. Despite his paranoia, the three of you (cake included) made it home safely, Minghao scoping the scene to make sure Jun hadn’t made it home yet.
After setting the cake on the counter, he turned to you and kissed your forehead with his upturned lips, “Well done, sweet pea. Are you ready to decorate? Junnie will be home soon.”
“Can I hab another kissie??”, you stood up on your toes, just to make it a little easier for him to press his lips to your head again with an airy giggle.
Quickly, the two of you got to work, digging out your hidden party supplies and gifts. A banner here, some ribbon there and a well written card from the two of you were set out with the cake and Minghao got to work on Dinner which could cook on its own in the oven until after Jun arrived.
“Bāobèi, it’s time.”
~
You had to hold your breath and keep yourself from bouncing around excitedly and squealing when the door handle turned. And even more so when the door opened, the man of the day shutting it behind him as he came inside.
“Wahh….”, Jun grinned, popping off his shoes at the door and stepping toward the colorful display set out for him, “I thought you guys might be planning something.”
As he got closer, you and Minghao began singing happy birthday, setting the pleasant scene for him with all of your love. With shining eyes, he admired the decorations, easily picking out which ones were chosen by you. Your tastes were sweeter, cuter, while Minghao liked things simple or abstract, artistic, organized chaos was all that was allowed.
“Yayyy! Happy Birthday! You’re old now, Daddy!!”, you giggled, crashing into his arms. Warm arms squeezed tightly around you as he exhaled, giving you all of his appreciation in return. He’d had what felt like a million parties in his life but none of them would ever compare to something sweet and simple, planned by the two people he loved the most.
Minghao snorted quietly at the comment, putting his arms around the both of you and squeezing as tight as his recovering collar bone would let him.
“Thank you, guys. Is this my lemon cake?”, Jun peeked over your head.
“Hey!! How’d you know??”, you frowned, blinking up at him with pouty eyes.
“Daddies always know.”, he whispered, pressing his finger to his lips while glancing with smiling eyes toward Minghao.
It wasn’t as if you’d been cryptic when you called him, arguing with your Bàba over Jun’s favorite flavors.
“What’s that smell??”, Jun’s eyebrows suddenly shot straight up, his mouth watering as he sniffed the savory scent filling the air.
“Something I think you’ll like.”, Minghao snickered, pulling himself from you two with one last kiss to Jun’s cheek, then to your temple.
“You two spoil me.”, he smiled softly, resting his head against yours as you turned around in his arms to face the kitchen.
It wasn’t much. But quiet, simple and sweet was the perfect combination of three flavors and three loves.

Baby you
Jun was not expecting to meet his little one on his way out the door, all ready for the gym. Duffel over his shoulder, he had one foot out the door when he’d called out to you for the last time. When he said goodbye before grabbing his things previously, he’d left you on the sofa. Snuggly as always, he let you know he’d be back in a few hours and not to wait up. Taking care of his body was important to his career, you knew that. But you got to thinking how sad you would be home all alone, especially when he was so busy with promotions and preparing for the next album. Maybe he’d have made it out before you noticed if he hadn’t forgotten his AirPods, quickly backtracking through the apartment to grab them. The way back however, it was him being grabbed by desperate hands, bunched up tightly.
“Daddy, I wan come too!”
Your teary eyes were just too much for his heart. And sure, he could have just said screw the gym so he could stay home and care for his baby. But his little one was a stubborn one, so insistent on tagging along, clinging close. Or so he told himself after giving in almost immediately while he dressed you in his sweats so you would look the part, even if the equipment wasn’t safe for a little baby to use.
The two of you didn’t have to travel far to get to the gym thankfully, he was sure you’d be falling asleep standing the longer both of you were away from the house. After checking in , he bought you a juice to keep you entertained. Seeing how excited you were to see all the pre and post workout goodies available for members, he barely managed to talk you out of getting the pretty pink pre-workout energy drink that definitely wouldn’t be good for his little one. (Not that it wouldn’t be cute to see you bouncing off the walls like the little klipspringer that you were).
The first part would be fun.
“Are you ready?”, Jun giggled, taking your juice and setting it on the floor next to him.
Ready? Ready for what? Did that mean you were gonna work out too?
“Are you watching? You look like a fish.”, he reached out to squish your cheeks once, referring to the way your eyes grew in size and the small ‘o’ that formed from your mouth, before stepping back.
Reaching down towards his feet, he began stretching, taking it slow to see if you’d join in. You always liked to do the things your daddy did. Kitty see, kitty do.
“Yah!”, he laughed, quickly catching his breath and standing back up before all the blood rushed to his head. It wasn’t your fault you were a little slow sometimes.
“Ahh!”, you yelped, bending over to do as he did.
“Okay..”, he sighed with a smile, stepping forward to help you stand up.
“Can you come down here with me?”, he asked after sitting on the ground in front of you and spreading out his legs.
Once you sat down he teased you again, helping you get into the right position to stretch with him. They weren’t exactly the stretches he needed to be doing today, but he was having fun ‘working out’ with his baby.
Making sure you were sat next to him where he could clearly see that you were safe and sound, sipping on your juice with his phone in your hand, he began on his sets. After moving from one machine to another, he couldn’t help but at least glance to check on you. There you were, playing all by your little self in this strange place. Suddenly, he felt as if he was neglecting you.
Jun sighed to himself, cleaning off the equipment. The gym was no place for a baby. He’d just have to take special care to make sure you were safe and cared for.
Crouching in front of you, he gently transferred the phone to his hand before pocketing it.
“Come here, baby. Wanna come hang out with Daddy or is the game more fun?”, he teased, brushing your hair behind your ear and kissing your head.
“Wanna come with Daddy! Can I??”, your eyes twinkled, presented with this curious opportunity. With just enough unsureness not to smother your excitement, you peeked at the scary equipment around you. Everything would be okay as long as you stayed with your Daddy, right?
“Only if you give daddy two - no - three kisses.” he grinned, tapping on his left cheek.
“Okay!”, you giggled.
“One for Daddy. Thank you, cutiepie.”, he counted, “Ooh, another? Thank you.”
Giggling, and sitting back on your feet, you covered your warm cheeks bashfully.
“Hey, you're not done!”, he chuckled, “One more, a big big smooch.”
You give him his last kiss, your playful laughter now echoing through the space. Picking you up on your feet, he shushed you, his own laughter almost matching yours. With you sitting next to him, giggly, teasing, counting his reps, he felt a lot better. Right next to him was where you belonged, where you’d be safe and happy.
“Seven…. Eight….”, the pause after ‘eight’ was a little long, making him pause his rep, his muscle twitching slightly in the flexed position as he looked at you with a smile.
“Nine! Ten…. ‘leven…”, and giggle or laugh as the two of you may, that was the extent of your three-year-old regressed knowledge.
That was alright with him. He could do multiple sets for you. That was until you started getting creative.
“One… two… three… goyangi”, and again, your impish smile spiraled into a fit of giggles.
Dropping the weights, he shook his head, breathing heavily through laughter at the sudden animal input.
“Goyangi??”
“Haohao, tell Daddy he is goyangi.”, you insisted, the phone centered between your little hands.
“Hao..?”, Jun questioned, glancing around, absolutely sure he’d put his phone in his pocket when he’d taken it from you. But, alas, sighed as you turned his phone screen toward him so he could see the FaceTime call that you’d started with Minghao.
“Ah, straighten your shoulder Jun Ge!”, Minghao instructed with a light giggle. Setting his phone up in front of him so he could be hands-free.
Drying his face and neck with his gym towel, Jun sat up on the bench with an eye roll and a smirk, and took the moment to sip some water.
“Giving up already? That’s okay. Y/n, would you like to come with Uncle Hao to the gym next time? Maybe you can teach your Daddy how to do it properly.”, Minghao grinned, taking the opportunity to take a quick swig from his drink as well.
“Where’s my drink??”, you pouted.
“Oh, you finished your juice, baby?”, Jun glanced around, picking up his water again, “Have some of Daddy’s, kitten.”
“Don’t want Daddy’s. Hao has juice. I want some. Hao can you bing me juice, pwease?”, you asked genuinely, tilting your head when they didn't respond immediately.
For a moment they really wondered if you couldn’t understand it would take longer for him to bring you juice than for Jun to just get you one of your own. Gathering his things, Jun pulled you up again but let you hold on to the phone.
“How about you tell him how much fun we had while we get you some juice? How’s that sound? Maybe we could get some ice cream too?”, he offered, knowing transitions were hardest for little ones, some sweets might make things a little easier.
“Wow, did you work out so much that you can eat ice cream?”, Minghao scoffed playfully.
“Daddy eats ice cream all the time!!”, you announced, thrilled to be part of the conversation.
“I do not. You shush before I turn you into ice cream.”
No one quite knew what that ominous threat meant exactly but it was enough to end that conversation. With the two of you headed home, the night coming to a close, Minghao said his goodbyes.
“Goodnight, kiddo.”
“What about me?”, Jun gasped, the call making it all the way to the shop.
“That was for you. Goodnight, y/n”, Minghao teased, ending the call before Jun WOULD argue further.
The walk home was almost too fast, Jun taking his time with getting you ready for bed to compensate. But he knew he couldn't hold off bedtime much longer. It was late and your yawns were coming in threes.
“You had fun with Daddy tonight, baby cakes??”, he asked, pulling your pajamas over your head.
“Uh-huh. Wanna go with goyangi every day”, you yawned, your ramblings nearly unintelligible.
“Oh, yeah?”, he asked with a smile, lifting you in his arms to carry you to bed, your sleepy stance, wobbling left, forward, right and back.
“Meow.”
‘Ah, again. My fault.”, he snickered lightly, pulling you into bed with him, close to his chest.
“Meow. Close your eyes, my sleepy kitty. We’ll go again another day.”

F*ck My Life
People often talked about how cute and little Jihoon was and while he had gotten used to it, it would get annoying sometimes. He was an entire adult and yet people would still baby him and look down on him (sometimes literally). Most of the time he ignored it and carried on with his life because his work and the way he presented himself spoke for itself.
The only person that could break down his walls was you. The only one who could not only get away with babying him but making him feel like it wasn’t such a bad thing. No, he deserved it. After doing nothing but working himself to the bone to get to where he was today, he deserved to feel babied. And small. And protected. And loved.
It wasn’t often he gave in, reluctantly letting you care for him, completely letting go. But comeback was close and he’d done nothing but work since the last one. If he was going to show Carats everything he’d promised and more, he needed to recharge. Desperately.
From the dorm’s front door, past the kitchen (ignoring greetings and callings of his name), directly to the sofa he landed some combination of on the cushion beside you and partially on top of you.
“UJI UJI”, Jeonghan chanted, tossing a water to him which you had to catch since Jihoon had decided to cling to you, nuzzling against your neck with only a small noise that meant he didn’t want to talk.
“Didn’t even take your shoes off...”, Jeonghan pouted, taking the hint and leaving the two of you be, even raising his hand to stop Soonyoung from doing any sort of parkour to get to the living room or bothering Jihoon on his way back to the kitchen.
“Aw, baby. You really didn’t.”, you sighed, pulling him into your lap and reaching down to tug at the laces of his shoes.
“Too sleepy to talk, huh?”, you offered up a frown, trying to empathize with him.
But instead, he shook his head ‘no’, responding only with a small sound of disagreement. Words were hard when he was so exhausted and feeling so small. He wanted to let go. But that was hard too.
“No??”
With a thud-thud, his shoes landed on the floor giving him the freedom to bring his feet up and snuggle into your arms. Again, it was only you who he would ever allow to hold him. He’d let himself feel needy and spoiled just for a little while.
“Okay, baby. I’ve got you.”

Dream
Jun had tried everything to put you to sleep. You’d had your bath, splashing and playing and wearing both of you out. Then the two of you had sat down for a movie, in his lap, comfy in your pajamas and ready to wind down for the evening but not quite ready for bed. By the time eleven came around, you’d shared a few yawns and he deemed it was time to lug you off to bed, giggling and chattering about how you weren’t sleepy in between another yawn or two as you tried to get down from his shoulder.
“Which one do you want tonight, cutie pie??”, he asked in bed as he curled his body around you, the two of you getting comfortable in your usual favorite position. The covers were pulled just below your ear, the only light in the room produced by your slow spinning night light, casting a galaxy of pink stars on the ceiling. It was turned on each evening, helping your Daddy protect you from the scary things your little mind liked to see in the dark.
“‘I lub you’ song??”, you asked, tilting your head up, even though neither of you could look at each other with your 80% contact proximity, legs tangled, your arms around your favorite plushy, sandwiched between his and your chest.
“Oh, you want ‘Dream’. Okay, okay.”, he smiled, looking at nothing in particular, maybe one of the dimly circling stars as he played the slow and soothing melody in his head. Taking a relaxed, deep breath, he sang in a feathery soft tone, rubbing your back as he sang you to sleep. “You are my dream,,, you are my love…”
It wasn’t every night he’d do this, but when you were feeling small, you always asked for him to sing you this song. Since the first time he’d practiced at home before recording in the studio, you’d been entranced, it’s sweet sound serenading you, making you let down your guard and melt on the spot. So easily, it would send you off to sleep. Often he didn’t make it to the end of the song before you snoozed away in his arms.
But tonight, he finished it and waited, unsure since your breaths weren’t as deep as they were when you’d fallen asleep. It was as if he could hear you blink, he could sense it without any movement; you were still awake.
“Do you want me to sing another one, baby?”, Jun leaned back enough to look at your face, moving your hair comfortably behind your neck before pulling you back against his chest.
“Uh huh. Tank ‘ou, Daddy.”, you mumbled, doing your very best to fall asleep. His head atop yours, he hugged you close enough to where you’d feel the soothing vibrations of his voice as he sang.
Two songs later and still, you were awake. So, he decided he’d let you fall asleep on your own for a while, and if that didn’t work, onto the next idea. Each of you got comfortable on your sides of the bed, your head in the center of your pillow, still facing one another.
“Close your eyes.”, Jun sighed, half tempted to reach out and close them himself. Singing had depleted his remaining energy reserves and he was eager to fall asleep with you, and with luck, meet you in his dreams. Though you did listen, each minute seemed to pass slower than the hour, and you couldn’t help but peek at him, finding him to be doing the very same thing.
“Sleep.”, he muttered, barely moving his lips as he quickly put away the smile that had began to tug at the corners of his lips. Another hour-like-minute passed, followed by another. Both of you searched for the deep breaths of one another, the sound often lulling you to sleep, but neither of you found them.
This time when you opened your eyes, he laughed deeply through his nose, sighing before he opened his own with a smile, ultimately giving up.
“Even with my eyes closed I can tell you’re not sleeping.”, he whispered sleepily, his hand crawling around underneath the covers until it found yours.
Your face squished against your pillow, you smiled back. No matter how hard you’d tried to sleep, it didn’t seem to be enough, leaving you too sleepy and too awake all at once. Sighing, he scooted closer until your noses were touching. Jun wasn’t always so touchy but when it was just you and him with no other distractions he’d get like that. Though his attention span was a little short, it didn’t mean the desire to be unimaginably close to you wasn’t there. But before he could snuggle you anymore, he was interrupted by his stomach growling up a storm.
“Are you hungry?”, he snorted with a grin, his fingers walking up your side. Once you gave him a nod, he rolled on top of you, effectively crushing you under his chest.
“Should we get up though? It must be after midnight by now.” He pondered dramatically, ignoring your giggles and squirming as you tried to push him off.
“You don’t need to eat! You’re heaby!!”, you squealed making him gasp dramatically and sit up.
“So you don’t wanna go down to the convi for a midnight snack? I could just leave you here.”, he thought on it again, trying not very hard to suppress his contagious laughter.
Seeing your pout he grinned widely, smooshing your face between his hands so he could steady you, gently but playfully biting the tip of your nose.
“You shouldn’t pout like that when I’m hungry. I might just take a bite.”, he threatened, hopping up and throwing on a discarded pair of pants before grabbing his hoodie that hung from a hook on the back of your bedroom door. Stepping back in front of you he bunched it up, throwing it over your head and making you sputter as you tried to blow the mess of hair from your face after your head went through.
“Hey, I got up didn’t I? Stop trying to eat your hair.”, he giggled.
“I’m not!!”, you defended but he was quick to pull the hood over your head, beginning the process of mess again as you spat and pouted through your mask of hair.
Throwing you over his shoulder, he pocketed his phone and walked out the door to your bedroom and down the hall.
“DADDY!!!”, you squealed and giggled, squirming and kicking your legs,”DOWN!! PUT ME DOWN!!”
“Ah! Shhh! We have neighbors.”, Jun’s low and unrestrained laughter filled your ears as he set you down, patting your bottom once then twice. Grabbing his keys from the counter, he went to the doorway to slip on his shoes.
Finally fixing your hair you waddled over and began to try to do the same. Standing there a moment after putting his keys in his pocket, placing a cap on his head and adjusting his hoodie, he realized you were struggling with the shoes you’d chosen. A small smile grew on his lips as he crouched down to put them on for you.
“Daddy has to do everything for you, huh?”, he sighed to himself, endeared and feeling useful in knowing that you needed him.
“I was doing it!”, you pouted, as if you were unhappy receiving the princess treatment you always strived for.
“I know, baby. Daddy likes doing it for you though.”, standing up, he kissed your nose and took your hand to start your short trip to the 24-hour convenience store.
As he swung your hand back and forth, tugging you to and fro along the street, he sang and hollered, teasing you in his usual way when it was just the two of you.
“Hey!!!”, you complained, reaching for his mouth to cover it with your hands, “neighbors!”, you reminded him of the same excuse he’d used on you.
Giggling, he nodded, pressing his finger to his lips before taking your hand once more. The rest of the walk consisted of him swinging your arm and only a mild disregard of who might be sleeping at one in the morning as well as chasing a random calico he’d spotted from the corner of his eye under a streetlight.
After your little kitty detour, him spending most of the time trying to convince you the cat looked just like him, you’d reached your destination and Jun pressed his finger to his lips again to signify both of you calming and being presentable as you entered the store. It was empty other than the two of you and the cashier who was restocking something by the register when they greeted you with a rehearsed welcome, only taking a moment to bow their head before returning to their task.
You had never been to a store while you were regressed, especially not one that was empty, the aisles full of treats and snacks. With so many choices and colors, your eyes all but glowed. Jun snickered watching you vibrate in place, your hand squirming around in his impatiently.
“Get a lot, baby.”, he chuckled deeply, releasing your hand before you dragged him with you once you’d taken off, feet shuffling across the white linoleum of the aisles.
Smiling at his kitten that bobbed about the shop, grabbing the first thing that drew your attention, Jun ventured off on his own, already having an idea of what he was searching for. Seeing that you were taking especially long, likely beginning to struggle with the weight of many items you were carrying, he gave you some more time, checking out with his milk tea, jelly snacks and a cup of spicy ramyeon.
By the time he had set up at one of the small tables available inside, shaking his deadly seasoning packet over a steaming cup of noodles, you’d waddled over, to his surprise, with arms empty. As he lifted his bowl, stirring it and testing the taste, your little hands worked at his pockets, first his hoodie then his pants. Raising his arms higher with a small laugh, he took his first bite of the reddened noodles, chewing, shaking his head and swallowing before you finally found the wallet you’d been looking for.
The poor cashier did not get paid enough for this. To start with you had swayed quietly, shyly as the cashier began to scan each item, but seeing Jun finish another mouthful, you were soon bouncing impatiently. Without waiting a second, you bowed, accepting your Daddy’s card and scooping everything up in your arms.
Laughing, almost choking not so silently, Jun covered his mouth as you returned with your bounty, carrying the small mountain in your arms. He knew there’s no way you were eating all of this tonight. Ice cream, fish shaped ice cream, peppero, choco pies, mochi and a few candies - he could tell were likely purchased due to their colorful, shiny and attractive packaging - filled up the remaining space on the table. He knew he’d made a smart choice not buying many snacks for himself. And he knew his baby. Two foodies in a pod.
“Wahh… you can’t eat all of this by yourself, can you?”, he sighed loudly, setting down his half finished ramyeon with a smile, “I’ll be back. Eat your mochi first.”
After opening up the packaging of the sweet and powdered rice cakes. He disappeared into the snacks once again. Within a few minutes he’d returned from the register again with a 6-piece gimbap, praying for his stomach since he would likely have to eat half of this as well. But he wouldn’t be a very good Daddy if he let you eat only junk food and sweets, would he?
Jun sat down in front of you just in time to stop you from peeking into his cup of very spicy ramyeon, your cheeks already full of the mochi he told you to get started on before he left.
“Ah! This one’s too spicy for you, sweetcheeks”, he giggled, working at the plastic wrapped gimbap.
“Don wan gimbamf”, you shook your head, mouth full, taking your milk in both hands to have a sip.
“Wah… I don’t know, baby girl. Eating all these sweets might make your little tummy hurt. Let Daddy feed you.”, he tapped against the boxed milk with his reddened disposable chopsticks, waiting for you to lower it.
“Ahh~”, he vocalized, prompting you to open your mouth for his chopsticks once he’d cleaned them off and chosen the first piece of gimbap for you.
With a huff, unable to resist your Daddy’s charms, you set down your milk and accepted the first piece of savory roll after confirming it didn’t have any icky vegetables you absolutely would not eat. Pleasantly surprised by the taste you hummed happily, wiggling in your seat until you swallowed and scanned the table for your next tasty victim.
“Yah, yah!”, Jun let out a breathy laugh, lowering his head for a moment to compose himself once he’d gotten your attention again.
“Another bite, first.”, he insisted you eat another gimbap before you could tear into your ice cream. He wasn’t going to let you off with just one.
When it was finally time to head home, the cashier not getting any more patient, a full hour had passed. It didn’t go unnoticed that you’d wandered off again, down one of the aisles while Jun used one of the plastic bags to pack away the leftover snacks and treats, leaving out two ice creams and throwing out the rest.
“Is Daddy buying you something else??”, he slowly strolled behind you, sliding his feet across the floor as he leaned over your shoulder to kiss your cheek.
“I dunno… maybe…”, you giggled, leaning away from his kisses and nuzzles. He knew your signs, though. You were getting sleepy but not quite ready to leave, not without the right push.
“Okay… Maybe I’ll just have to leave without you…”, his voice was distant by the time you finally noticed he’d disappear from behind you, his tall shadow no longer comforting you with its presence.
“No!”, you waddled to the end of the aisle, looking around and stumbling quicker into the next to find him.
When he wasn’t there either, you felt the familiar sting in your nose meaning you were going to cry. But before a single little tear could form, two big hands, your favorite hands, wrapped around your waist as Jun scooped you up from behind, kissing and biting at your cheeks and making their way to your sides for a surprise tickle attack.
“Okay!! Ok- Daddy, Okayyyy, let’s go!!”, you squealed, wriggling and kicking just to keep your feet on the ground.
The walk home was far slower than the first, maybe because you were tired or maybe you still weren’t ready for the night to be over. The ice cream in your hand melted and dripped at the rate you were eating, evening in the chill of the evening air. It didn’t help that Jun had pulled out his jellies, feeding you a lemon one — his favorite — as the two of you moved leisurely down the street lamp lit street.
By the time you’d made it home you were wobbling and swaying. But really, you had been long before you’d reached the door. Putting the remaining ice cream away, Jun judged that the rest would survive the night on the counter, but you wouldn’t survive another minute away from your bed.
“Sleepy baby…”, he sighed as if he wasn’t on the verge of passing out as well.
Lifting you off the floor, Jun adjusted your weight as comfortably as he could in his arms. Not because you wouldn’t go but because you could hardly keep your balance, falling asleep where you stood. The trip down the hall was a little more unsteady than he wished to admit before he managed to lay you down for bed.
“There you go, baby.”, he felt his muscles relax, finally releasing them as he rested your head against your pillow
“No, no!”, you stirred from your sleep, tears quickly at risk of falling as you grabbed onto him tightly when he put you down, not letting him part from you even a little.
“No, Daddy!”
“Hey, I’m not going anywhere. Daddy’s gonna change clothes and lay right next to you. Close your eyes.”, Jun rubbed his hand over the side of your face, smoothing your hair back.
Exhausted, he felt a twinge of guilt in dreading that he may have to rock you back to sleep again but finally you give up the fight, your head falling heavy as you snoozed against his hand. He left you in his hoodie, too tired to try to get it off of you, especially with how comfy you looked in it. Then finally, after changing out of his clothes, he slipped under the blankets, pulling you so softly into his arms so he didn’t wake you as his full weight sank into the mattress.
After a sugar crash food coma, the two of you would sleep well into the next afternoon with sweet dreams. The black out curtains made it impossible to see the sun almost at its highest point in the sky, not that either if you cared. Inevitably, that left the issue of somehow fixing your sleeping schedule but that was a problem for another day.

🧸Endnote: In light of today’s events, I figure we can use some fluff. I wasn’t going to post this until tomorrow out of respect for Moonbin and his loved ones but I think some comfort would do us all good right now. I hope it comforts you even if Jun isn’t your bias. Personally, it’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever written even if it’s not written well. The concept has my heart. Junnie is, without a doubt, my number one. Falling For U pt. 1
After seven months of dating and three months of being his caregiver, you’d finally found a good groove together. Jeonghan always seemed to be on the edge of regressing when he was comfy, sleepy or clingy which was most times.
It used to be a little overwhelming but you’d notice how regressing frequently helped him stay in control, even typically staying a happy medium age of around 6 years old. He never had to stray far from that. But it also depended on who he was with and his needs. Recording during a demanding Going Seventeen episode wasn’t always a good environment to let it out. Especially when GoSe was on the road, taking them to Jeju for the next two episodes.
Thankfully Jeonghan had talked you into coming along this time, saying he’d put you in his suitcase if he had to. It hadn’t taken much convincing, you were sure you’d get to enjoy the island just a little, even if it was for work.
An hour flight and a fifteen- minute car ride later and the two of you were checked into your hotel room with plans to have dinner with the guys once you’d settled in. Some drinking and babysitting would be involved, no doubt. Jeonghan had taken the chance to nap of course even though the flight had been short. Very on character, he’d probably fall asleep again if given the chance.
Still waking up, he hauled his suitcase onto the king sized bed in the suite, taking a moment to glance around as he tucked his hair behind his ears. It wasn’t the nicest suite he’d stayed in but it was still fairly good. It was two connected rooms. One with a large flat screen, a small table with two chairs, a sofa with a coffee table and stands to match. The other was the bedroom, the mattress seemed pretty comfortable from what he could feel with his hands and the closet space average, another tv mounted on the wall opposite the bed. Luckily there weren’t too many mirrors outside of the bathroom so he’d already spotted the perfect place to do a live for Carats later on the trip.
Unzipping his personal suitcase he decided to get some things set out in case he came home drunk later on. While moving stuff around and setting them on the cream-white comforter, he happened to notice something was absent. Deciding not to think too much of it, he swapped out his hoodie for an oversized t-shirt and jacket for dinner. When you finally came out of the bathroom and began to do the same as him he glanced over at the contents of your suitcase and again did not find what he was looking for.
“Babe? Did you pack Shuji in my clothes?”, he commented as nonchalantly as he could, as if it didn’t set a spark to his nerves, setting his suitcase in the closet area to worry about later. Rubbing his hands on his pants as they began to sweat, he looked at you, hoping you had the answer. He’d never traveled without it since Joshua gave it to him, even if he didn’t plan on regressing.
“Hm? Oh. No-”, you thought for a moment trying to remember your packing process. The day you’d packed, only a week ago, Jeonghan had had a particularly exhausting day and you’d decided to help him regress, spending the evening snuggling and putting together a Lego set,”- you didn’t pack him?”
Quickly you realized the mistake both of you had made. The bunny plush Jeonghan had grown so attached to sat at home in the center of your bed. He hadn’t always been a plushy man, but Joshua, his first caregiver before you came along, was the first to notice Jeonghan’s habit of keeping something with him, usually spoons for comfort, to feel more secure. The plushy friend, named after Joshua, became something Jeonghan couldn’t travel without. Most times it would sit at home, sometimes finding it’s place in his arms when he slept, but when he had a show or especially when he traveled, little bunny Joshuji was the first thing in his suitcase. A grown man getting anxious over such a thing, Jeonghan was already beating himself up.
“Hold on. Let me check.”, you closed your own suitcase and went to the door to lug his other suitcase to the bed, only to find it filled with clothes as you worried it would be. When you looked up again, you found his anxiety reflected clearly on the outside as he stood tense, fists balled tightly at his sides, any emotion absent from his face as he swallowed loudly, trying to stay in control.
“Jeonghan?”, you crossed the room, your fingers smoothing over the fabric of his jacket, straightening it, just a bit of comfort as you searched his face. But that little bit of comfort, your touch made his lip quiver and his nose twitch as he tried to fight off his tears.
“Need something…”, he jerked away from you, frantically closing his eyes, his hands clenching at nothing.
“What? What do you need?”, you stepped back, surprised that he wanted space instead of being his usually cuddly self and melting into your touch as he usually did. Instead his breath quickened and he wiped his hands anxiously against his pants, grabbing at the fabric. He only acted like this on the rare occasion he needed to fight off his regression. Jeonghan wasn’t the type to regress involuntarily but that didn’t mean it hadn’t happened once or twice when he was stressed out of his mind.
“Dunno.. something? Spoon?”, his eyes shut tighter for a moment, fluttering as he took a step back, then two until he met that wall, pressing his palms to the cold, smooth texture. But it wouldn’t be so easy to go back to spoons or chopsticks after having his bunny.
”Joshuji. Want my bunny.”
Tears slipped from his pretty, tired eyes as sweet short sobs left his pretty lips before you could even try to look for a spoon or something to ground him.
“Baby… aw. You’re so stressed aren’t you sweetie.”, you sighed, cautiously reaching to pull his head to rest on your shoulder, which he gave into tensely but no longer resisted your comfort. It wasn’t often something that seemed so small would make him regress.
“W-what am I gonna d-do?”, he stuttered, his hands quickly clinging tightly to your shirt, his tear streaked face snuggled into your shoulder. Jeonghan relied heavily on the stability of something like his bunny when the world around him was so out of his control. The relief that he could come home and recharge or carry is with him, it would always be there. You couldn’t help but feel at fault for forgetting something so important.
“Hannie, it’s okay. Hey, look. We can go out first thing tomorrow and get a new plushy friend and surprise your bunny Joshuji? Hm?”, curling his long dark hair around your fingers in a gentle, repeated motion, you soothed him and allowed him to cry his heart out, in between accepting and not accepting the fact that he couldn’t have his bunny now or for the rest of the trip.
Walking him to the bed, sitting him next to you and removing his jacket, you kept his head on your shoulder. Though his tears began to slow, his eyes, nose and lips were already red and puffy.
“I’m so sorry, baby. Mommy forgot to pack him.”, you whispered with a heavy heart.
“We get Shuji a friend?”, he asked sadly with a little nod between wet sniffles, looking at the floor while playing with the hem of your shirt.
“Of course. I promise, angel.”
Going out with the guys obviously wasn’t an option anymore, Jeonghan had exhausted himself within less than an hour after arriving at the hotel. Sad Hannie was a needy Hannie. Especially when he was sleepy as he was getting, luring you to the head of the bed to lay in your arms and tiredly miss his little plushy friend.
“Cheol?”, you asked, the background rather noisy but that wasn’t out of the norm.
“No, it’s Chaann~”
You didn’t ask why he had Seungcheol’s phone, Hannie pouting up at you to make the phone call quick so it could be the two of you again.
“Jeonghan isn’t feeling well so we’re not coming out tonight. Let Cheol know. And don’t let anyone drink to the point where they can’t walk tonight because I’m not coming to save you.”, chewing the inside of your cheek waiting for the noise and laughter on the other end to turn into words.
“Yea, got it y/n! You and Jeonghan Hyung have fuun!”, you could almost hear the wiggle in his eyebrows. With a roll of your eyes you hung up and sighed, your little one snuggling closer again and becoming fluid against your body.
As you eyed the room, seeing if the television remote was within reach, Hannie drifted off on your chest, peacefully suckling the tip of his thumb. A distant knocking at the door, alerted you and made your little one squirm a little when he was so close to sleep. You’d put the ‘do not disturb’ sign out when you’d entered the room so it couldn’t have been room service. Pressing your lips together firmly, you looked down at your baby with his eyes closed, eyebrows wrinkling together at the noise before relaxing again as he fell a little deeper, his dreams just in reach.
Another knock assured that whoever was interrupting your exhausted Hannie’s sleep was not going away.
“Mommy’s gotta get up, angel. Go ahead and sleep. I’ll be right back, I promise.”, you tried to shimmy out of his hold but there was no way he was going to let you escape his hold without a fuss.
“Noo…”, he whined, sitting up with you, rubbing his eye with a pout. Sighing, you stood from the bed and held out your arms. If he was small enough for you to carry him around, he’d have crawled into your embrace easily. But instead he has to crawl out of bed, clinging to you as you brought him with you to answer the door.
Joshua turned back to the door as it opened, hanging up the call just as your phone began to ring.
“Sorry.”, he gave a short laugh, observing the waddling, sleepy baby that clung to your shirt that lifted a hand to rub the sleepy from his eye.
“Hey, buddy! Did uncle Shua wake you??”, Joshua spoke softly as he stepped through the door, closing it behind him and lowering his posture a bit to get a good look at the pouty angel’s face with a smile.
Not all of his members knew about Jeonghan’s regression, but Joshua was one of the trusted few that had filled in as his caregivers before you’d met.
“Nuh-uh”, Hannie gave Joshua a confused look before shaking his head sleepily. Though, Joshua definitely had.
Needing to de-stress after Hannie’s little breakdown, you were a little relieved Joshua showed up when he did.
Seeing his little guy with puffy, red eyes, Joshua could already tell you needed a break and a little help even if it meant he was on babysitting duty, time together with his Hannie wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Putting his phone in his pocket and kicking off his shoes, he pat Hannie’s head and took his hand and walked him to the sofa, sitting down with the little one in front of him who had followed without question. Well, maybe a little question but he had the real life Shua right in front of him, the perfect replacement for his bunny would be the real thing wouldn’t it? He certainly wasn’t gonna fuss about that.
“It’s been a while since we got a good snuggle in, hasn’t it, bubs?”, he gave Hannie a meaningful look, his soft Bambi eyes shifting to you, gesturing that he could take it from there.
Crawling into his lap, sleepily, Hannie snuggled against Joshua’s shoulder contently, caring little about whatever show that had been put on to soothe him now that he had the attention of his Joshuji.
Seeing Hannie so comfortable with Joshua as circles were rubbed on his back, you relaxed, slipping on your shoes and grabbing your jacket to venture out and scavenge dinner for the three of you since no one would be going out tonight.
When you finally returned, settling on Kimchi jjigae since spaghetti didn’t seem to be something you could quickly find in the area, you let yourself into the room as silently as possible, Joshua sat with Hannie in his arms, stroking the hair from his face and admiring him lovingly. It was picturesque, the two of them together.
“You’re really a natural. You cared for him a lot before, didn’t you?”, you smiled softly, hanging your coat and setting the takeout on the glass tabletop.
“A few of the guys, Cheolie, Dokyeom, and Myungho mainly helped out when the opportunity came up, but yea. It was mainly me and him for the past few years. Siince he first started regressing, really..”, he nodded, trailing off. The air was heavy with emotion; a shared appreciation of the other, your guilt and his regret. Moments passed before he continued, your fingers walking over the cool glass of the table, glancing away when your eyes lingered too long.
“I’m grateful he has you but I do miss this.”, the corner of his mouth curved up, contented to be able to have this bonding with his little one again, even temporarily.
Hannie whimpered, stirring from his sleep to find his arms empty of his plushie, making Joshua’s instincts take over. His effortless aptitude, caring and passion for Hannie was decidedly his most attractive feature.
“Hey, hey. I’m here. I’ve got you. I’m right here…”, he stroked Hannie’s cheek, making sure his pretty dark hair was out of his eyes so he could see clearly that Joshua was right in front of him. How quickly your angel seemed to settle left you in awe.
“Daddy here..?”, Hannie nodded, sniffling in his half awake state as Joshua cooed, calming him further. It had been a long time since his Daddy had been there to comfort him, he couldn’t help but need reassurance.
“Yes, little one-“, Joshua sent you a pained look of apology, he had nothing but pure respect and admiration for you but Hannie’s headspace came first, especially when he regressed this young, “- Daddy’s right here, angel.”
Hearing that, Hannie relaxed, his arms folded into his chest as he curled again his Daddy, until he realized something was missing, someone was missing.
“What’s going on, buddy?”, Joshua cooed as Hannie’s eyes fluttered open, but he was already lifting his head and looking around for what was missing.
“Mommy??”, anxiously, his eyes darted from the door, around the room until he found you seated at the table. In all honestly, you couldn’t help but have felt left out of their bond, but the way he searched for you, he needed you, it soothed the ache in your heart and brought a smile to your lips.
“I’m here, sweetie.”, you assured him.
Shifting in Joshua’s lap to face you, he made sleepy grabby hands. Standing from your chair, you came forward to take his hand but he frowned, tugging at it a little.
“What is it, baby?”, you asked, but Joshua grinned, knowing exactly what the needy baby wanted.
“You wanna cuddle with both Mommy and Daddy, angel?”, he questioned, looking up at you.
Hannie made a little noise of agreement which you pondered over. You felt a bit shy and anxious yourself in this situation, Joshua being his first caregiver. It wasn’t that you were uncomfortable but you weren’t sure you had the heart to take this from them. It’d had to have been months since they’d been able to have time together like this. Daddy and Hannie time.
“How about, we fill little hannies tummy and then Mommy and Daddy can cuddle you until you’re sick of us?”, Joshua took the lead, helping a giggling Hannie sit up who was elated at the thought of having his two favorite people all to himself.
“Momma got stwawbie milk??”, he asked hopefully, lifting his head to search the contents of the table to see the familiar little carton.
“Yes baby. But only one with dinner so it doesn’t hurt your little tummy”, you laughed, standing to set out places for the three of you.
Heaving Hannie up in his arms, Joshua lifted him from the couch easily, carrying a squealing little boy to the table, giggling and laughing.
“Yea, no extra sugar for you, little man. You’re getting heavy.”, Joshua teased. Of course he wasn’t, but teasing was one of their love languages. Part of you wished you could carry your baby like that, so easily Joshua was able to make him feel small in every way he deserved.
Joshua looked to you, asking with his eyes if you wanna take him but it was refreshing to see the two of them like this. So a quick smile and Joshua was setting Hannie in his lap and feeding him every other bite as you all ate dinner together.
Just after they’d finished, Joshua’s phone rang, Cheol calling to check up on them. With a gentle pat on Hannie’s head, he left the bedtime bath to you.
Once the tub was filled with bubbles and Hannie settled in the warm water, playing with the travel sized soaps like little dolls, he asked you and interesting question.
“Mommy like Daddy?”, he asked, walking the tiny bottles across the edge of the tub, mumble singing a made up tune.
Thinking on it for a moment, you remembered how Joshua had introduced himself as ‘Uncle’. Joshua truly was a gentleman, taking a step back to respect your relationship and distancing himself. But that wouldn’t work with your stubborn baby boy at all.
“Yea of course!”, you weren’t exactly sure what he’d meant but Joshua was easy to be around, and two caregivers would always be better than one when their bond was as close as it was, “Do you like Daddy being around more??”
“Lub Daddy and Mommy. Want mommy and daddy to hab lub too.”, he rested his head, squishing his cheek on the edge of the tub.
“So cute.”, you pinched his other cheek and brushed it off as the innocent ramblings of a three year old. But your little matchmaker deserved a little more credit than that.
While you dressed Hannie, pulling his shirt down and over his head, Joshua walked into the bathroom as if it was the most natural thing in the world, taking the towel from the sink and playfully ruffling over Hannie’s damp hair.
“Let’s get you all dry, bubs.”, Joshua teased, peaking under the towel at Hannie’s giggling face, punching at his smiley, glowing cheeks.
“But ‘m already dry, Daddy!”, while his body was dry, Hannie always forgot they still needed to dry his hair.
“Oh are you? Huh, then maybe Mommy needs to dry off?”, Joshua asked, grinning as he threw the towel over your head.
Huffing, it took all your power not to laugh as you threw it back at Joshua who only gave you an impish bunny smile, sharing the moment with you before it was back to business..
“Alright, we gotta dry your hair for real this time, okay? Come here.”, swiftly, Joshua extended the corded hair dryer from the wall and called Hannie to sit on the floor between his legs and Joshua sat against the wall. It’d be pointless to stand, the warmth was sure to have Hannie dozing off in no time.
Getting ready for bed yourself, you watched Joshua with nothing but patience, expertly dry your little angel’s hair as he all but fell asleep in his lap. Ignoring the flutter in your heart for the upteemth time seemed to be redundant. Having Joshua around was comforting, you were sure you could speak for both you and your little one. It was a talk for big Hannie, but for now, this was okay.
The moment the hair dryer was switched off, Hannie opened his eyes and frowned at the loss of the warmth, opting to turn into Joshua’s arms. That was okay with Josh, he’d planned to carry him to bed anyways. Tucking Hannie into bed, you crawled in next to him. Joshua lay on his side over the covers, running his fingers through Hannie’s hair and staring between the two of you purposefully through the stillness as he planned his goodnight and goodbye.
“I should get going, angel…”, he spoke regretfully, slow blinks eyes his eyes looked for yours.
You could only tell who he was speaking to because of the nickname he’d added, his gaze constantly shifting between the two of you.
“Joshuji!”, Hannie huffed in defiance, holding on to Joshua’s shirt, tugging on it grumpily.
“What is it?”, Joshua laughed, sighing as he sunk back into the bed. You hadn’t told Josh about forgetting Hannie’s bunny at home, he could have easily thought Hannie was just talking to him.
“Mommy forgot his bunny at home. Looks like you have to stand in as a replacement.”, you giggled, earning a sleepy, amused twinkle from your little one as he agreed. Thinking for a moment Joshua rolled to turn off the lamp on his side of the bed, a smaller lamp still giving a dark glow to the room.
“Is this okay, bubs?”, he asked about the light, most of the time Hannie had a hard time sleeping if it wasn’t completely dark.
“Daddy stay?”, Hannie asked, rolling to face him, his hands searching for Joshua’s, playing with his welcoming fingers.
“Okay.”
After an emotional evening, Hannie was finally out like a light with you drifting off beside him. But Joshua wasn’t quite there yet. It really has been a long time since he’d felt something like this. Or even allowed to feel something like this. Jeonghan in front of him, his little one again in his arms, so easily slipping back into his heart and bringing someone along with him. He wasn’t sure when a strand of your hair had fallen over your face, but on impulse, his fingertips were already there, brushing it back and waking you in the process.
“I’m sorry.”, he whispered with a wince, sending you a thoughtful smile, a blush one could only feel, radiating from his face in the darkness.
“Shhh!”, you suppressed a giggle, doing your best not to wake Hannie who was deep in a much deserved slumber, though your heart was having other ideas, thudding, booming louder than a thunderstorm.
Those soft Bambi eyes again locked with yours as the two of you lay blissfully with your head against the fluffy hotel pillows. You weren’t sure who fell asleep first but his warm, adoring gaze was the last thing on your mind when your eyes closed for the last time that evening.
