I’ve finished both seasons of the Shadow and Bone show and I finished reading the first book yesterday—pleased that Alina’s story was mostly the same in both—now onto Siege and Storm!​

p.s. I read most of Shadow and Bone in six days. I haven’t read a proper book that fast in years. **** my old job.

59: what’s your favorite myth?Although it actually wasn’t one I was that familiar with as a child, I’ve gotten rather fond of the myth of Persephone. This is what comes of reading too much Labyrinth fanfic, kids.

63: are you fussy about your books and music? do you keep them meticulously organized or kinda leave them be?Fussy, but in a messy way. There are horrible, monolithic stacks of books and music in here (due to a lack of space), but I could tell you every book or CD/record in those stacks.

If this said, say, 15 years into the past, I would be very tempted, but things 5 years into the past were (for me) almost just as rubbish as today. It took me a little while, but this morning I finally finished Ruin and Rising. I liked the way it ended—I also understand why they made the changes they did in the TV series. There was a decent chunk at the end of the second book and beginning of the third where I was bored out of my mind. It’s why it took me so long to finish by comparison to how quickly I read Shadow and Bone. A lot of the stuff I struggled with was gone from the series. I also understand the changes to the ending, keeping things open to include certain characters in a potential third season.

I think I’m going to read a couple of other things before I start Six of Crows so I don’t get fatigued, like I did with Cassandra Clare’s books and The Expanse, but I hope to return to the Grishaverse soon :D 

This time, it’ll help that I can read from the paperbacks rather than my Kindle!
