Ok wow cool ok I. I think Mishima is my actual favorite character in Persona 5 now. I sort of forget he exists when he's not right in front of my eyes but every time he IS or even gets mentioned I go MISHIMAAAAAAAA 🥺🥺💖✨️💖💕❤️❤️💕😩😩🥺💖‼️‼️‼️ he's just a little guy.... whom I want to treat right... he's the first confidant I maxed I kept planning stuff around Mishima Hangout Sessions my heart sings when he texts. Seeing this reminded me of when my friend played P5R and really didn't like Mishima. So they literally put off meeting with him.

It's time for my monthly horrible horrible akeshima brainrot... I like to think that akechi (in the alternate future where he lives and gets to be happy) just can't comprehend how he manages be SO in love with mishima to the point of like. constantly being out of character. When he comes back to the apartment they share he goes straight to pull mishima (works from home) into a hug and grumbles about how it makes him seem pathetic but he won't stop doing it. They share a bed and akechi says he's not big into cuddling but when mishima nuzzles up close akechi would wrap his arms around him because what else is he supposed to do? NOT give in? Akechi thought he'd rather keel over and die before saying he loves someone but he's out here telling mishima how much he loves him with every opportunity he gets. He's absolutely not a romantic person but when he sees something he thinks mishima would like he'd buy it as a gift without much of a second thought. He's so uncharacteristically gentle even with all the profanities he dishes out and the back and forth banter they've been having for years. it's unbelievable to the the pts gang that mishima yuuki of all people has THE akechi goro head over heels for him. It's so cringe but he's living his best damn life.

Royal Strikers: Day 2 Part 3

This bit has been done for a bit... 😅 Like, outside some introductions for screen sections (which are new as of this week), these are the first things that were complete to a state I'm happy with months ago.

I just missed the last week post because I got stuck reading two fics for the past bit, as in the last 2-3 weeks. I'm like midway through Forearmed of the Forewarned is Forearmed series and just finished what's up of My Attic Roommate Goro Akechi (Romance Route). Of course, I don't begrudge other ship opportunities, in fact it makes things always more interesting. There's a few that have high chances to squick me out, and without a good reason/counter-interest, I'm not going to be convinced to even look at it. Forewarned is Forearmed is actually a good example of that honestly, as I'm apparently a sucker for Inaba!Akiras.

And like progress is being made but not in the spaces I'm expecting. Like new paragraphs or additions on parts already seen, major rewrites to things you haven't yet. Not as much progress for the main part of today's bits though. aka work skins still suck. And only some minor actual forward progress

Akira several hours later, as he settled into bed, heard one of his more distinct text tones. He very quickly got into texting back.

Akira groaned as he sat up, yawning in the process.

“It’s been a while hasn’t it?” chimed a voice with some sorrow in tone.

Blue. Akira opened his eyes to see everything was bathed in shadows of blue. The slither and clank of chains sound as they change direction.

“Welcome to the Velvet Room,” proclaimed the attendant. 

Akira looked over his shoulder to the girl and breathed out, “Lavenza.”

The girl smiled, but still betrayed some hesitation. “Whether we bemoan or rejoice in this reunion, Trickster, I have duties I must perform. A greeting for guests’ first time arrival was not given by me truly and I sense something may go amiss if I do not.”

Akira lifted his hands in surrender.

“This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter. It is a room only those bound to a contract may enter.”

Akira sat in front of the door to the cell, listening as the platinum blonde waxed lyrically on about fate and danger already apparent to the boy.

“As such, you have become a “prisoner of fate” yet again,”.

“We’ll just have to stage another breakout from fate then.”

A peal of laughter came from the attendant, before she smiled and told her guest, “I do not as greatly fear the destruction of the current path while you are in such good humor about your fate.”

Lavenza stopped right in front of the cell door, her smile dropping some. “However for my master’s sake I must ask you a question in a specific manner.” The boy in front of her nodded. “Have you the resolve to defy such a fate and face distortion that once again threatens your world?”

Akira held Lavenza’s hand through the bars, smile growing as he told her, “You know it.”

She squeezed his hand before letting go. “Now then, I shall act in my master’s stead and watch over you through your journey.”

“Your master was only really there a month, so nothing too new there.” Akira stood, looking past her at the new torture devices present.

“Go to sleep Trickster, you shall come back as you need. You and your moon need you in as good spirits as possible tomorrow.”

“‘Til tomorrow then, Lav.”

Mishima and Akechi act as unexpected but interesting foils, for sure, and there's a number of things to talk about in that regard, but there's one little thing I come back to time and again, and that's their names.

Specifically, how both are called their family names instead of their given names. It's a detail I didn't pick up on at first, but once I did, I've never truly stopped thinking about it.

For Akechi, it's not really a surprise from any angle. At first, he's pretty much a public-facing stranger even after talking to him some, and by the time he joins the Thieves, he's blackmailing them and the Thieves are aware he's fully planning on betraying them. Any distance Akechi keeps, familiarity he refuses, makes perfect sense in the context of his character, and it doesn't need any real explanation because of that.

Mishima, on the other hand... There's definitely a strange sort of distance he puts between himself and Joker, deliberately keeping himself at an arm's length despite being so desperate for connection, and it's really interesting to think about. Early on it's probably at least partially idol-worship and such, sure, and not changing the name used to refer to a character likely helps avoid any confusion, but still... If Mishima had just been referred to as 'Yuuki', no one really would've batted an eye. There's seemingly no reason for it. We even know Shiho more by her given name, even if it's primarily because we know her through Ann, her best friend.

It just makes me think so much about how both of these characters are so isolated by their own choosing to varying degrees. And even at the end of the game, even if you max their confidants and such, that distance is still there.

Both view Joker as an ally, someone to be trusted, perhaps, but do either every truly think of him as a friend? Akechi's reasons and motivations are all too obvious, but Mishima's are hidden, kept apart, and it kinda drives home how little we know about Mishima in the end. He's one of the Thieves' greatest supporters and assets, but he's also almost meaningless.

Akechi is the famous person put on a pedestal, the broken and isolated child already too far down the path of self-destruction with no intent of turning back, the one you learn so much about but are ultimately helpless to truly save in the ways you might want to.

Mishima is... Nothing. He's no one. You don't know anything about him that anyone else doesn't already know. Even when facing his Shadow, you don't get to learn anything new, you don't see the true depths of his heart. And even that fact is so very easy to overlook.

For the longest time, Yuuki didn’t understand why you enjoyed just watching him play video games with his friends so much. 

  He figured that after the second or third time of you coming over and laying on his bed, listening to him play some console game online in his dorm with Akira and Ryuji, you’d get bored. You’d run out of things to scroll through on your phone. You’d run out of things to read while he’s facing the boring parts. You’d get tired of listening to him yell callouts to Akira or get annoyed that all he can seem to do is yell insults back at Ryuji. It had to happen. It had to happen eventually.

  Yet you never did. He always expected that at some point, you’d try to drag him off his games and force him to take you out. Admittedly, he doesn’t do as often as he should- he knows. But you’re usually so content just watching and listening to him play. You offer up your own little comments that his friends can hear over the phone. You ask his friends questions about what he was like in high school. And you always seem to giggle and pull a face at the thought of him being shy or nervous. ‘That’s not the Yuuki I know,’ You would tell them. And it’s true. He’s been more confident since graduating high school. His confidence is what landed him you, after all.

   But you would still laugh when Ryuji would share an embarrassing story or two. And you nearly beg Akira to talk about the Old Yuuki - even if they were all in the middle of a match. The point is, you liked this. You liked sitting in his apartment with him, engaging with his old friends, and watching him get his ass kicked in fighting games. You liked these little moments, even when the focus wasn’t on you. In fact, you seemed to like it more when he’d play something with his friends, and he’d have to force his attention off of you. And for that, he couldn’t be more grateful.

  Because knowing where he came from, he would have never dreamed of finding a girlfriend who loved him so much that she’d be willing to do just about anything for him.

  Including sucking him off while he’s playing games with his friends.

  Right now is no different. It’s just another hot, sticky summer night in the middle of the week. You had already slipped your arms out of the straps of your tank top, letting your boobs flow freely as you sit up on your knees. Your lips are wrapped around the head of his cock, and your tongue flicks against it all too eagerly. He wants to ask you to take your shorts off. He wants to ask you to sit on his lap instead and just hold him while he ruts into you as much as he desires.   “Where are you?” Akira’s voice comes over his headphones almost too suddenly, and Yuuki curses under his breath as he’s forced to take his attention off of you. You have the audacity to look up at him with big, round, and innocent eyes as if you’re not the reason why he’s so off today. But he doesn’t have time to deal with you. Not if you could help it, at least.

  “P-patio,” He stammers his location out before taking a look around. A second later, he catches his mistake. But by that point, someone had just peaked the corner and started shooting at him. He curses again and returns the fire with his pistol as you decide that’s the perfect opportunity to open your mouth wide and slip his dick further down your throat- distracting him further. “No- wait. Estates! I meant Estates.”

  His fingers fly over the buttons of his controller as his character ducks behind a wall. He takes a large sum of damage before he even realizes it, but you’re so busy bobbing your head up and down and up and down that he can’t even think about aiming. His fingers inch to reach out to you. To push you away because he’s growing sensitive? To pull you in because he loves the feeling of your throat closing around him? He doesn’t know.

  But what he does know is that you’re the reason why he just lost a shoot-off and died just now. Worst of all, though? It happened just in time for Ryuji to walk in and take the guy out with one clean shot. 

  “Dude, booo.” Immediately, Ryuji starts to complain the second it happens. The annoyance isn’t well hidden at all. But it’s not like he should have expected anything differently when he plays with these guys. Especially not on the days you start to get bold like this. “You fucking suck today.” 

  Go figure.

  Part of him wants to immediately bite back at the guy- knowing that it was only last week that the blonde’s kill-death ratio was looking pretty similar to his right now. But the other part of him is more preoccupied with dropping his controller to the side of his chair and tangling his hands through your hair, finally deciding that he wants you to take him deeper. You take it in stride. Just a quick, cute little look as your eyes flicker up towards him, and it’s back to letting your licks stretch around his shaft and breathing through your nose as he slides in almost too easily.

  “Yeah, you sick or something?” He vaguely hears Akira call over the microphone, and he manages to muster up some kind of response to the question that seems to be enough for everyone at the moment. Ryuji follows it up by mouthing him off- talking about his performance over the past couple of games. But Yuuki is just a little too preoccupied slowly timing his thrusts with your own movements to offer any real quip back. 

  But that doesn’t really matter. The game is just that- a game. And he talks to his friends often enough that he knows they’ll understand. Maybe Ryuji might even be a little jealous if he tells the truth about why he’s playing so poorly today. But he’s not really thinking about that. He’s not really thinking about anything.

  Anything except you, of course. And just how good, sweet, and all too fucking sexy of a girlfriend you are. For being so accepting of his gaming habits. For being so accepting of his friends. For being so kind and loving and patient with him. But most of all?

  For giving head so great that he starts to forget about every single thing that isn’t you.

Hey, he's just a little kitty cat! It might be annoying how he doesn't let you go out at night and keeps talking when you're trying to read or meditate, but when he's not around it's clear you can barely function without a feline handler. He does keep saying weird shit to Ann though. 3/10

IV-The Emperor: Yusuke Kitagawa

Is it even fair? The guy's a toothpick. He's gonna blow away with the next breeze. His stamina in the Metaverse comes entirely from sitting around thinking about the darkness of the human soul re:art all day. Isn't he a starving orphan? But he does keeping saying out-of-pocket shit and you don't care how gay he is, that's no excuse for being a misogynist. Violence isn't the answer, but he'll feel the passion behind your slap, even if he doesn't entirely approve of the method. 5/10

V-The Hierophant: Sojiro Sakura

Aww, isn't he such a lovable tough guy? Basically your new dad, generational enmity and all. Hey wait why is he checking out your teenage friends. Hitting on all these younger women. Isn't he like 50? 60? If he's in his 60s you worry his brittle bones will shatter on impact, but if it's 50s then he's fair game. Maybe he'll finally trust you after some male bonding through friendly roughhousing and all. Depending on how early it is in the game there's a chance you'll be out on the street, though. 6/10

VI-The Chariot: Ryuji Sakamoto

He's your homeboy, your bro, your best buddy! And sometimes friends deck friends when they get outta line. You do feel kinda bad since he's been trying to channel all those big water sign emotions into becoming a gym rat instead of getting goaded into fights and all, but you'll keep it clean. You love him, but he can be so embarrassing in front of your other friends! Maybe he'd stop chasing skirts like a doofus if he just got some friendly skin-on-skin contact with other guys now and then. Wait, what? Well, anyways, it's totally a fair fight. As you throw the first punch you remember, wait, isn't he a domestic violence survivor? Shit. 9/10

XI-Justice: Goro Akechi

You can't tell if he's actually cool or just pretentious, but you've been waiting for a chance to wipe that shit-eating grin off his pretty face. You bet he has a 15-step skincare routine to get that perfect glow when he delivers a backhanded compliment that subtly conveys how much he thinks he's better than you. Staring each other down across the billiard tables while you play a verbal game of cat-and-mouse isn't enough. This cold war's gotta heat up. And, spoiler alert, he will challenge you to a duel...and then some. This ends with one of you on his knees. 10/10

XII-The Hanged Man: Munehisa Iwai

What beef do you even have with this guy? He's the hot gun guy who gives you custom builds in exchange for glimpses into the life of a Goodfellas side character. Besides, with his history, you don't wanna risk it. He's way too experienced and strong and grizzled and smoldering and...ahem. Maybe you would learn something. 4/10

XVI-The Tower: Shinya Oda

That's a kid. You do wanna punch the people making this poor child's life so hard, though. 0/10

XVIII-The Moon: Yuuki Mishima

He looks up to you so much it just wouldn't be fair. You've seen him beat up so much already that, even if he asked you to fight him, it'd be like kicking a puppy. He can be annoying and a creep and maybe even a little scary sometimes, but a punch is not what he needs. 2/10

XIX-The Sun: Toranosuke Yoshida

Dad?! For real, though, he's just about the only adult in this game besides Lala-chan who seems actually cognizant of the fact that you're a teenager. If you tried to take a swing at him he'd be incredibly disappointed that his lessons didn't stick, and you'd never forgive yourself for letting him down. 1/10

(Igor isn't here because he's nothing. As in, literally immaterial. You can't punch your dreamscape spirit guide with your real life human hands. He's, just, not there.)

1-The Councillor: Takuto Maruki

The most punchable guy in the entire game. Everyone thinks that self-effacing, oblivious beta male act is so charming, but you're not buying it. He's only there for Shujin to cover its ass until it cycles out of the news and is either willingly complicit or too incompetent to notice. He thinks his disarming, approachable shtick is a therapeutic icebreaker, but it's more like a lack of boundaries bordering on malpractice. He's one of those self-described "empaths" who projects his own personal issues onto everybody else and plays the victim when you call him out on it. The last thing you or any other troubled teens need is this bumbling, paternalistic stooge messing around in your heads. Plus, every time he makes that stupid pouty face you wanna slap the license outta him. Hey, does he even have one? 11/10

Bonus: Protagonist/ Joker / Your Name Here

Well, you play as him, so he's kind of you? The dialog options let you be a little mean or creepy sometimes, so I guess it's up to the player to decide if he's a jerk or not. Or you can take all those options as reflective of his personality (add in the fake glasses and Uniqlo mannequin getups, and he's kind of an asshole). Just keep in mind that, for a guy who eats a single loaf of bread at lunch every day, he's surprisingly built and pretty strong. You'll be in for quite a fight you can't back out of if you take a swing at him. At yourself?

Mishima

He finds the height difference to be adorable. You're his very cute S/O and he'll gladly help you with whatever you need. Even if you don't really need his help, he'll still offer it. Sure, a step stool would probably be enough for you to reach something, but he still wants to be a useful boyfriend.

Mishima is there to defend you if he hears anyone else saying some kind of short joke to you. Even if you find them amusing, he's still defending you because he knows those jokes can get old quick and doesn't want your mood to potentially sour because the jokes get old.

Yes, you might be his short S/O, but if you want to maybe play video games with him (please) then he'll gladly be your knight in shining armor in that too. He'll happily be your healer if you want to tank. Even if it is in a video game, he finds it so freaking attractive if you defend him despite your smaller stature.

Ryuji

Absolutely leans on you, placing his arm on the top of your head and little things like that to mess with you. It's all done in good fun and he'd never want to actually hurt your feelings, but he's the type of boyfriend to do that stuff.

Ryuji accidentally puts things on high shelves where you can't reach. It's legitimately an accident because he's just placing things where he's always used to having them. He didn't even think about the fact that you can't reach. He is amused when he sees you struggling but then he moves to help you.

He would be happy to pick you up and give you piggyback rides and such though. Even if it's not the best on his knees, he will still try if it makes you happy. Ryuji gets a bit flustered with the affection, but he'll still do it if you ask enough.

Yusuke

Yusuke doesn't intentionally makes short jokes, but he bluntly comments on your height now and then if you need his help to get something from a higher shelf. Again, he doesn't mean for it to sound like a joke, he just says it without thinking of it. Will apologize when he sees you're upset.

Despite the accidental insults, he doesn't really treat you any differently. You're his S/O and that's what he sees you as. That said, if he does have art on the mind then it is interesting for him to see the perspective change for you. Might ask you to take photos of things at your eye level so he can try some new painting idea or something.

Is a bit hesitant with introducing you to Futaba. She's also very small and the last thing he wants is for her to corrupt you and then he's dealing with two tiny gremlins, one being his S/O. If you're already a gremlin then he just sighs and deals with it.

Ryuji Sakamoto: Boyfriend #1, absolute malewife. I love this dude and his "FOR REAL?!" so much. Such a crime that he's not romanceable LET ME ROMANCE THE GUYS. Also the first confidant I maxed out after only like 3 months

Ann Takamaki: She sure exists. Definitely a character. On a more serious note, I hope her stuff works out for her.

Morgana: Catboy. I like how (english) he's voiced by sothis from Fire Emblem 3 Houses. I seriously do wonder what's up with him though, especially with the dreams he's been having recently...

Sojiro Sakura: Coffee dad and best dad. I love him so much. Currently grinding out my kindness just so I can get to level 7 and beyond for his confidant stat. (on 4 out of 5, wish me luck)

Igor: Long nose man, very mysterious. I'm like 75% sure he's dad from FE3H which is kinda weird but cool that I recognize the voice.

Yusuke Kitagawa: Boyfriend #2. God I love him so much. He's also voiced by Kuroh from K which is so freaking cool. Again, why can't we romance the guys. As an artist myself, I feel so bad for him being manipulated most of his life by someone he trusted...

Chihaya Mifune: Thanks for letting me up my kindess stat to level up easier. That's really all she's good for though. Before I got the game I had no clue she even existed. Screw her for costing 100k yen to start her confidant though.

The twins: SILENCE, INMATE! They're cool, I like the dynamic they have with them. I definitely feel like their babysitter whenever I take them places. Loved how they also got their own toy when we went to big bang burger.

Futaba Sakura: Gamer girl, also my sister. I haven't gotten far into her confidant line but I like how it ties into her mother. Once again, major sister vibes

Tae Takemi: Thanks for the medicine, but really that's about all I see her for. I do hope she gets to prove herself in the medical community though.

Sadayo Kawakami: SHUT THE FUCK UP STOP CALLING ME MASTER EW EW EW EW I REGRET STARTING YOUR CONFIDANT LINE SO MUCH TF YOU MEAN I CAN ROMANCE MY *TEACHER* BUT NOT THE GUYS??? SCREW YOU KAWAKAMI

Ichiko Ohya: You certainly exist. Uh huh, you definitely do. Honestly her confidant perks are kinda useless since I keep my palace security levels around 0% more often than not. Plus she just reads as a constantly drunk aunt.

Shinya Oda: Also never knew about him before starting this game. Gamer boy. Reads as a nephew who you sometimes hang out with. Other than that, not much thoughts

Hifumi Togo. Another one I never knew about before playing the game. I feel so bad about her mother using her... I wonder if we can change her mothers heart further into the storyline?

Yuuki Mishima: Definite little brother vibes. I like how we didn't change his heart, just let him change on his own. Also I hope his future book plans turn out well for him, he definitely deserves it.

Toranosuke Yoshida: Another one who exists. Not much opinion on him since I'm only on rank one since I don't care enough to level him up.

Sae Niijima: Mixed feelings about her, one on hand I think she's trying to help me, but on the other she threatened coffee dad, called makoto a burden... I probably hate her more than I like her honestly.

Kasumi Yoshizawa: Gymanstics girly. It's sad that her summer meets didn't go well, I hope she improves for the future. Also really sad news about her sister...

Takuto Maruki: Super good buffs, especially for the sp one. Reads as a shy uncle who really cares about his nephews and nieces. It sucks that he's a limited time only, but thankfully I'm at level 9. Hopefully I can reach level 10 on him soon.

Munehisa Iwai: Voiced by Jinshi from apothecary diaries, super cool. Reads as an uncle who pretends he doesn't care about his nieces and nephews, but in reality shows his affection through secretly taking them places, giving them stuff to do, and gifts. Kinda like "Hey, give this to your mom and then I'll take you out to the range". Very good uncle

Goro Akechi: Soon to be boyfriend #3, once Ryuji and Yusuke gain favorability of him. Also god why isn't he playable, I want Akechi on my team so bad so I can complete my guy harem.
