i don't think y/n gets many visitors. at least, if they didn't get many before, rumors of a large monstrous cat wandering their property would keep anybody far far away from them. any packages are delivered to the mailbox at the end of the driveway, none of those mail carriers or any sort of delivery folk are willing to come near the house.

the fact that the archheart took selena because he loved her and wanted to give her peace, and in the process left her suspended in an eternal static torment because he doesn't understand how something as fragile as a mortal soul works feels like a summary of the good intentions/bad long term outcome situation with godly soul custody. it makes sense that the gods would end up keeping some of their special followers! the first mortals to get in tight with the gods probably asked for it! the ego death of proper reincarnation is terrifying compared to staying up late hanging out with your buddy pelor. asmodeus and the hells aren't being half as kind about it yet the core motive remains—that hoarding instinct to keep what you love(or hate) and never let it go.

but you and i aren’t meant to be eternal. the kryn use anamnesis to ensure the continuity of self through endless lifetimes and they’re still losing themselves to it. selena was turned into a nighmarish human-faced star because the god she made out of metal thought that they could understand each other and she hung there in his domain burning, her last wish forever repeating on her lips, for a thousand years until he could release her. mortals don’t want to fully die and gods don’t want to let them go but nobody can stay in their frozen crystalline palace of eternity forever. eventually everything in the Real gets to change.

What do you think biker gang chain would do? I kind of just thought they were a group of friends who became a "gang" because they all share the same name and they like... support charities and stuff

I'd assume they were all just friends at first.

Or maybe they all lived near enough to one another that word got out. Maybe only a few of them had bikes already, so the ones that didn't went out to get their own. Maybe that's when someone thought to make matching jackets. Maybe that's when they all started hanging out more. Maybe that's when they realized that there's something special about belonging to something. Maybe that's when they realized that their families have each grown bigger with the inclusion of the other boys.

I like to think that maybe each of the boys come from dysfunctional/broken families which would only spur them to join forces to look out for one another in the end.

Time obviously was the first with Twi, his nephew, and Twilight kept bringing boys to the ranch and they each got more and more fascinated with his bike and Time (and Malon) just couldn't turn these boys when they were looking for refuge from their daily lives.

It's something personal. It's something special. And it's something worth fighting for.

How do you get over the embarrassment of being seen through your fiction? I have a hard time writing because i don't want people to know

I want you to imagine me removing the spectacles I don't wear, squeezing the bridge of my nose, and reaching across the table to pat your hand.

The terror of being seen rubbing against the desire to share and connect with others is the friction at the core of the artist's life, or any life, perhaps. It's pretty inevitable, and sometime terror outweighs desire, simple as that. But you only face the fear through doing it (assuming you can do so without jeopardizing your physical safety or core relationships) and getting through it. Like, the embarrassment won't kill you, but it will probably feel like it might to someone who has never put themselves out there like that. Embarrassment fades fast, though, especially when your work reaches the intended audience. Connection ultimately trumps shame, every time.

I was TERRIFIED of writing my first f/f romance in Robbergirl in 2018. I felt too raw, too exposed, and like I was going to be Capital S Seen by everyone. And then as soon as it was done I realized how good it felt, and how authentic and alive my writing was, and now I regularly write sapphic romance and queer romance writ large. I'm glad I did it, and I would do it again. Revealing part of myself, the vulnerable part of myself, allowed other people to be vulnerable with the material in return.

Here's the secret: most people are not paying that close enough attention to every single callback, motif, and allusion in your work and cross-referencing it with what they know about your life. Most of the time, people are most concerned with themselves, and what the story makes them feel or reflect on in relation to their own lives. And thank God for that.

Perfectly Content (Drabble/Mini One-Shot)

My heart is beating as hard as the rain is bouncing off my window outside.

It was the only sound in the room aside from the sound of scratching tree branches against my house.

“You know, if your heart pumps any harder, it may just pop out of your chest.” I heard from behind me.

Little does he know he’s the cause of it.

This was his first time in my bed. We’ve only been on two dates, but it feels like we’ve known each other for a lifetime. We haven’t gotten intimate yet, but we’re not trying to force anything. This “taking it slow” thing is all new to me. I made it abundantly clear to him that I wanted something real.

I turn to face him. His eyes still glimmer in the dimness of the room. “Sorry.”

He reached up and brushed my hair out of my face and rested his hand on my hip. He didn’t respond, just gave me a small smile.

I moved over to snuggle into the crook of his arm. He held me closer.

“I had a good time tonight.” He says, rubbing my back. Every hint of feeling him on my skin is sending shockwaves through my body.

“I did too.”

“Maybe we can make this an everyday thing?” He laughed.

“I’d like that.” I smile against him.

“Let’s do it.”

My heartbeat finally slowed down, and I felt more relaxed than I’ve been in weeks. There is nowhere I’d rather be than right here in his arms.

personally i think the best way to look at this election in terms of "who am i (as a viewer) going to vote for" is that first and foremost, for us, this is a STORY. we are watching a story (and also a fun game and funny people doing funnies together, but for election purposes we'll say that)

therefore our goal should not be "which candidate has the best policies" or "which candidate is best for the island". we don't CARE. that's not our business.

we don't care what's good for the islanders. THAT'S NOT OUR BUSINESS. we're not islanders nor are we players. we are the guy in the bar watching the Truman show. our business is "what story do we want to see?"

each candidate offers something different.

(note: i don't claim to understand their platforms, for personal reasons i haven't followed it closely bc i kinda suspected there was gonna be drama and didn't feel like stressing myself over minecraft politics; my local elections freak me out enough lol)

for a rough example:

elquackity: obvious federation plant, clear enemy for the rest of the server. man-vs-government arc.

forever: did you like cellbit's infiltration arc? i could predict something like that following in forever's footsteps (forever sneaks around the federation, learns a few secrets, continues to make his changes to the server but does perhaps experience horrors, most likely a slower burn than cellbit's arc but certainly a lot of espionage and theorycrafting)
