The swarm shifts to look at Audrey, feeling bad for being snappish almost immediately. She's one of the people that didn't deserve their current moodiness, one of the people they could still settle next to without feeling a tiny simmering spark of anger flicking through their swarm.
They sit up, shedding sand from being half buried, and sigh a little.
"You're okay Audrey, I'm just grumpy. Not with you though." The swarm shifts to face her, crossing their legs to lean their elbows on their knees, chin in their hand. Their eyes have the faintest trace of a glow in the moonlight.
"What's up, you look all serious. Did something happen that I missed? There's been a lot going on lately."

The Worm on her shoulder buzzes its wings loudly as a low hum can be heard, along with the rapid tapping of soft booted feet. Seems a swarm has arrived.
To their credit, they slow down before they hit the door instead of barreling in and poke their head in first. Zazie has stuck to their usual small form for now, not wanting to startle Audrey by being bigger out of nowhere. It would have been a funny prank, if it wouldn't be particularly mean.
"You're awake! You slept forever, I was starting to think you weren't going to wake up." The statement is flippant but they aren't very good at hiding the worried tone of their voice nor good at making the look over they give her casual.
"Rook said you'd be okay though. I thought you'd be safest here." Zazie proceeds to attach themself to Rook's leg, clinging to him since they're not sure they should hang on Audrey yet.
@threadsandwings
Rook let out a little sigh, but he seemed more bemused then anything else. She seemed like she was trying to pace herself at least. He wasn't about to scold someone who was putting in effort to do what he asked. "Well, if you've got a good appetite, I'm not going to complain about that. It's not too odd for people in your position to get a little disconnected from the signals their bodies are sending them." Maybe he should offer her meal in smaller courses rather then all at once? That way she didn't eat too much before her stomach had to understand that it was full. "You seem like you're doing well with that. Do you think you might want a bit more?" Rook asked her.

Winn and how he is underrated but a true hero! Not all heroes wear capes!
Soooo moving away from my negativity for a while 😅. (well almost!) I began to realize that Winn is such an underrated character.
We spend all our time usually talking about Kara and Lena, or Kara and Mon El. But not many people talk about Winn.
Let's take a look:
Winn was there from the very first episode. He's basically everything you expect James Olsen to be but better!
Kara instantly trusted Winn and told him her secret. He must have already proved to be an amazing best friend for her to trust him with that!
Winn thought Kara was coming out as gay to him, (now ignoring the fact he said that must be why she wasn't into her 😑) he was like 'that's great news!'
Winn immediately started to help Kara get started with becoming a hero.
Winn has mad sewing skills and started to make Kara different costumes. (Even if the first one was a little provocative, don't tell me you weren't looking at Kara's abs like Winn was! )
Winn found a way to listen to police scanners and even helped Kara start out with small car chases.
Winn set up an unused room at CatCo so the Superfriends had somewhere to do their super stuff.
Winn hacked the DEO serves to help Alex find out what happened to her father, even though he wasn't thrilled about it and the consequences it could have.
During the earthquake in season 1 and Kara lost her powers, Winn managed to get the CatCo servers up and running and managed to get Cat on a live feed to give people hope.
Winn saw how close Kara and James remained even though Lucy was back. He did have a go at Kara, which wasn't cool. But he was right in how she shouldn't have still been acting so close with James, and vice verser.
Winn was able to disable Indigo with a virus while she was chocking him!
Winn did all the technical sleuthing that the others couldn't. Discovering things about Maxwell, when Cats emails were released etc.
Even though Siobhan was a bitch, Winn still tried to comfort her after she was fired. He even stood by her and took her to the DEO to find out more about her powers. Even when she became Silver Banshee he didn't stop trying to convince her to stop or offering his support.
Winn did act butt hurt when Kara rejected him, but he got over it really quickly and made up with her and he moved on like a grown up.
When Barry turned up, Winn was so excited to learn about the Multi Verse and help him get home. Unlike a certain someone who was jealous, oh and Winn instantly saw that jealousy.
Winn put himself between Sliver Banshee and Cat when she came to get her from Cat Co.
Alex asked Winn to come and help at the DEO, he proved himself and was formally invited to join.
Winn made Kara and Clark Anti Kryptonite shields for their suits.
Mon El did manage to convince Winn to leave the DEO against Jonn’s orders, but Winn was a good friend to Mon El, one he defiantly needed! Even if he did teach Mon El a few phrases that led Mon El to call Kara’s mum a babe! Mon El needed another friend who wasn't Kara trying to tell him how to live his life!
Winn found out that James was being a vigilante, instead of telling on him, Winn confronted him at CatCo. After hearing James’ lame excuse about needing to be a hero, Winn initially reused to have anything to do with it because James would just get himself killed. Unfortunately, because ‘reasons’ Winn changed his mind.
Winn and Lena always worked really well together.
Winn refused to take any s**t from an over demanding James and gave him a right talking to!
James wasn’t capable of fighting crime without Winn as the ‘man in the van’.
Winn didnt want to hide the fact that he and James were fighting crime from Kara, but James told him they should because she would stop them.
When Guardian was framed for murder, Winn said they should stop! But James said they shouldn't.
Winn really is talked out of doing the right thing by James and his peer pressure. That is until he finally caved and told Alex. Even though she threatened him, that was probably an immense relief that someone responsible and with actual credibility now knew what these two fools (yes Winn to) were up to.
When James let a criminal get away from him, Winn, even though he had no suit or protection jumped out of the van to stop him! This was both brave and stupid. But this here is the mark of a true hero, albeit a foolish one. Winn was severely traumatized, something James didnt really acknowledge. Later Winn had to go to another planet to help rescue Kara and Mon El. He was TERRIFIED and he told Alex why but he had his orders and went anyway! He even managed to win a fight and get the portal working while scared to death. This right here is true heroism!
Winn wanted to tell Kara, he kept getting more and more traumatized but James still said no. Winn, even though he was stressing the f**k out with all the pressure still didnt betray his friends trust.
Kara recognized that Winn was a hero long before he started to be ‘the man in the van’. She even told him this when she learned hat he and James had been doing.
Winn was able to keep up with Brainy and even figure things out that he couldn't.
Winn was the one who figured out the footage of Lena with Kryptonite was in fact doctored footage. Even though he was initially convinced there was nothing wrong with it (regrettably so) he still kept working on it at Kara’s request.
Winn taught himself to read Kryptonian because he was bored!
Winn managed to fix Mon El’s suit when he came back from the future.
Winn has no issue in showing his obvious crush on Superman.
Winn is a fab singer!
Winn has absolutely no issue with women saving him. Kara, Alex and Lyra.
Winn had no issue dating an alien who didnt look altogether human.
Winn made Alex a suit (without her having to ask or demand i might add!) because he thought it was unfair that Kara and Jonn could do things Alex couldn't and he wanted her to be safe and have a better fighting chance!
Winn is damaged and had an awful home life, but he managed to find a new family. He has a papa bear, two sisters and a brother now.
Alex Danvers was so heartbroken Winn was leaving that she burst into tears!
Winn was so smart and had such a rep in the future that he was asked to join the Legion and go to the future.
There is probably loads more i could add but i think this sums it all up. Winn is under appreciated. He is the one who does basically all the tech work, comes up with the weapons and the suits and figures out most of the mysteries that need to be unraveled.
Without Winn, Kara would have been lost and screwed. The DEO would ave taken much longer to figure things out. James would never have been able o become Guardian (oh no what a shame ) Cat Co would never have been able to get up and running to give people hope. Oh and in the future Winn is curing fatal epidemics.
Winn helps save the world, helps keep the DEO agents and Kara,oh and James safe, and he does all of this while wearing a shirt, tie and a cardigan! No cape or super suit for Winn! You dont need those things to be a be a hero. Playing to your strengths, using what you have, that is what makes a hero. Winn doesn't even push to join the DEO, he’s invited. He has a messed up family background, but he manages to find himself a new family he would protect till the end. He is severely traumatized but he still goes and does the on thing that scares him the most so he can save Kara and Mon El.
Winn is probably the most selfless character on the show (accept brainy). Nothing he does is to grandiose himself, or put himself in the spot light. He doesn't feel he has the right to put on a cape and act like a prat because everyone else around him is. He supports his friends, even if what they are doing is stupid, but he has the sense to tell them its stupid. He even went the extra mile to support his girlfriend up until the point she became bad, but even then he kept trying. Winn had no way to fight Silver banshee or Livewire, but he still placed himself in front of Cat to protect her. Winn was the sensible friend who pointed out that flirting with someone who has a girlfriend, or being the flirt with the girlfriend was a bad thing to do! He uses his free time to create new devices and suits to keep all of his friends and the world safe from harm. He does all of this without asking for anything, other than if the DEO has a dental plan!!
Winn is a true hero!!

since gcfpresents has been deleted, here’s my last few weeks in review:
so i’ve come to realize that during my conference in ohio, this guy who i’ve known for the past couple of years - and who trained me on sound - had been flirting with me multiple times.. then, a few weeks after we came back and i thought i wouldn’t see him for a while, i was serving as producer for saturday when the producer for sunday morning asked me if i could cover for him since he had the stomach bug. so, i ended up serving as producer and the guy was working sound that morning and when he saw me walking up the hill - i never serve on sundays or attend sundays, so it was truly a surprise for people when they saw me - and he walked into a pole as he saw me. then, he kept joking around with me and me, being the dummy i am, didn’t realize that he was asking me out. he asked me out twice - 2 TIMES! 2 TIMES! - and i didn’t realize it, so i just replied to him normally and then he mentioned that he saw the bts pop funko dolls and thought about me, which i thanked him for... but! i’m working with him next saturday so here’s to hoping for good news soon!
so, for the first time ever in my life, i have started to work with cast iron skillets. i’ve always known that they are the superior in cookware and that they are better for the earth, but i’ve always thought they were hard to work with, so i never invested. i had one that my mom bought years ago but it got rusted, so we never worked with it but with the help of my cousin and her husband, who are my lifesavers, they’ve helped me through it and i’ve gotten it clean. i need to clean it one more time before i can season it, but i bought a lodge one that was already seasoned and i used it one night and i was so pleased with how it worked, i used it the next night. very little cleaning and i’m in love! i’m so happy i invested in cast irons and i never wanna go back.
my pastor told me to my face - while i was still volunteering my day to filming our video announcements, which i’ve been doing since the beginning of january with very little to no pay at all since my old boss left them in a lurch at the end of december and i’m the only other one who knows how to film these videos and edit them - that, although i was an amazing candidate to be av ministry leader and that everyone in the office loves me, i wasn’t going to get the job because of my lack of experience in photography. and yeah, i’ve never done photography professionally but in that role, photography has never really mattered. then, he continued to praise me but then told me to apply to other churches around the us because they might be hiring for an av position, then proceeded to tell me about this guy in the syracuse vineyard - who never went to school for it, started learning through high school, just like me, who started when i was 15/16 - who was running the av ministry and was my age and encouraged me to call him up and ask him how he got the job.. and it’s like, if we have the same history with the av, how come i didn’t get the job??
the next day i had to work as the sound tech at the kickoff event for lent/easter season while my mom and sister worked in different ministries. sound check was supposed to be at 6:30 but it ended up being at 7:03 and it lasted less than 3 minutes, in front of at least 40 people. i had a lot of anxiety because of it, and i told the two people i was hanging out with - the projectionist and the main leader of the team until the guy gets hired to replace my old boss - but they kinda told me that it was fine. the leader came back to talk to me about an eq issue, which he said he didn’t want me to take it the wrong way and he wasn’t trying to critique me and i told him it was fine, but tonight i was producing and he came in to fix some issues we had going on, and he apologized to me. he said that he noticed i was anxious and i didn’t get to hear everything he said, but i can’t believe he apologized to me.. but i appreciated it.
and i’ve been feeling pretty depressed since my pastor told me i wasn’t getting the job - i’ve been debating with myself on whether or i really wanted the job or not, but it still hurt pretty bad. he kind of made me lose a bit of confidence i had because i was so, so sure i could get the job and then he told me i wasn’t good enough but the guy in syracuse who was the same age was. i’ve felt lost because i have no idea where to go now... but tonight there was this guy who i used to go to youth group with who said that he missed my cooking and he thought i should be a chef. he also kept saying he thought i was really smart, especially for graduating six months early, and after these rough past few weeks, i really needed those compliments. when i heard that he said them, i almost teared up in the car.

MELTS EVEN THE COLDEST HEART.....11 MONTH OLD BABY HEARS
There is a video on the internet of an 11 month baby girl laughing. Laughing uncontrollably because she is hearing for the first time.
When Scarlet Benjamin was 3 months old, she suffered a bacterial infection. Scarlet was treated with antibiotics. The antibiotics caused her to lose most of her hearing. Enough so that she could not hear everyday sounds.
A special hearing aid was devised. Tried yesterday for the first time. Scarlet on her mother’s lap. Her older sister began talking to her.
Scarlet looked at her strangely, then began to laugh uncontrollably. Non-stop.
Scarlet’s mother joined in. Scarlet continued her laughing. Mom of course began crying.
The video is titled “Best Days of Our Lives.” Filmed by Natalie Newport, National Curator of WAPT 16 ABC.
Don’t miss it! Have a tissue in hand as you watch.
In the course of 72 hours, Syracuse played its worse game of the year and then its best.
Syracuse lost to George Tech. Looked terrible! Last night, Syracuse played #1 Duke on Duke’s home court. Syracuse looked terrific. Won 95-91 in overtime.
Both teams played well.
Interestingly, Syracuse was down 12-0 at the beginning of the game. I was moaning. It was going to be that kind of night! They came back, however. And beat the mighty Duke!
Chris from Syracuse e-mailed me. He suggested Syracuse only play top 20 teams. Syracuse wins! Play lesser talent and Syracuse loses.
Tonight, Boys’ Night Out. Seven at Guy deBoer’s home 3732 Flagler Ave. If it was not tuesday, I would go. Never have been. Tuesday night my podcast. Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou.
The show 9 my time. I have so much material to vent over. Amazing! It has been an active week.
Join me for a fast moving half hour. Guaranteed you will enjoy. www.blogtalkradio.com/key-west-lou.
One of Key West’s leading figures Lynda Frechette is now doing a column for a New York City publication. Cabaret Hot Spot. www.cabarethotspot.com.
Lynda will be reporting re the Key West area.
Her first column has already appeared. Terri Smith and Terri’s recent appearance for several evenings at the Little Room Jazz Club.
You can only appreciate Crystals and Coconuts if you visit the store. Stop in and chat with owner Angie Gilligan. The store sits at 803 Whitehead. Can’t miss it.
Strange winter weather this year. Hot and cold back and forth. The past 2 days 80. Today and tomorrow in the 60’s. Night and day.
The southern border is going to be even more crowded. A new caravan has left Honduras headed our way. Six hundred strong.
Simultaneously, it has been announced that the U.S. military at the border has had their deployment extended to September. I worry that at some point, bullets will fly. Something neither the migrants nor soldiers want.
As I write, I can hear the TV set in the background. William Barr is being sworn in. He is the nominee for Attorney General. A Senate committee is doing its advise and consent.
Barr concerns me because of a report he wrote a few years ago supporting executive power and indicating that a President was beyond prosecution, etc. With the Mueller investigation coming to a head, that memo and whatever his position is today becomes of extreme importance.
Enjoy your day!

New Zealand shooting: 49 killed across two mosques PM Jacinda Ardern vows to change gun laws Suspect appears in court charged with murder Everything we know about the shooter Brenton Tarrant The victims: Afghan refugee viewed country as 'slice of paradise' Tech giants told 'enough is enough' after shooting live-streamed Everything we know so far about the Christchurch attacks The main suspect in mass shootings at two New Zealand mosques was charged with one count of murder on Saturday, a day after the attack that killed 49 people and wounded dozens. Wearing handcuffs and a white prison shirt, Brenton Harrison Tarrant sat impassively as the judge read the charge against him. Tarrant, an Australian-born former fitness instructor and self-professed fascist, did not request bail and was taken into custody until his next court appearance scheduled for April 5. He was likely to face further charges, police said. The attack, thought to be the deadliest against Muslims in the West in modern times, was immediately dubbed terrorism by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, as she led a shocked nation on one of its "darkest days." The attacker live-streamed footage of himself going room-to-room, victim to victim, shooting the wounded from close range as they struggled to crawl away. Family members outside the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch Mr Tarrant allegedly published a racist "manifesto" on social media before the attack, featuring conspiracy theories about Europeans being displaced, and details of two years of preparation and radicalisation leading up to the shootings. "It is clear that this can now only be described as a terrorist attack," said New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. "From what we know, it does appear to have been well planned." Two IEDs (improvised explosive devices) were found in a car and neutralised by the military, police said. In Sydney, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison described the gunman as "an extremist, right-wing, violent terrorist". His two targets were the Masjid al Noor mosque, where 41 people died, and a second, smaller mosque in the suburb of Linwood, where seven more died. The remaining victim succumbed in hospital. The dead were said to include women and children. Around 48 people were treated for gunshot wounds at Christchurch Hospital, including young children, with injuries ranging from critical to minor. The survivors included 17 members of Bangladesh's cricket team, whose game against New Zealand on Saturday has been postponed, and a Palestinian man who fled for his life after seeing someone being shot in the head. Entire team got saved from active shooters!!! Frightening experience and please keep us in your prayers christchurchMosqueAttack— Tamim Iqbal Khan (@TamimOfficial28) March 15, 2019 Ms Ardern vowed on Saturday to toughen the country's gun laws after revealing the alleged shooter had legally bought the five weapons, including two semi-automatic rifles, used in the massacre. The nation's firearms laws are lax compared to neighbouring Australia, which enacted a strict gun control regime in the wake of a similar massacre in 1996. Ms Ardern said Tarrant obtained a "Category A" gun licence in November 2017 which allowed him to purchase the weapons used to mow down worshippers in two Christchurch mosques. Some of the guns appear to have been modified to make them more deadly, she said, adding that a ban on semi-automatic weapons would be considered. "The mere fact... that this individual had acquired a gun licence and acquired weapons of that range, then obviously I think people will be seeking change, and I'm committing to that," she told a press conference. "I can tell you one thing right now - our gun laws will change." Terror in New Zealand | Read more 6:43AM Two police officers praised for arrest A pair of rural New Zealand police officers dramatically arrested the suspected Christchurch gunman 36 minutes after authorities were alerted, it emerged on Saturday, as the prime minister hailed their bravery. Jacinda Ardern said the alleged attacker, Brenton Tarrant, would surely have killed even more people were it not for the policemen. "The offender was mobile, there were two other firearms in the vehicle that the offender was in, and it absolutely was his intention to continue with his attack," Ardern told reporters in Christchurch. Grainy video apparently shot from a passing car shows the gunman's light-coloured vehicle at the side of a busy road, rammed against the kerb by a police car and with one of its front wheels suspended in the air. ARREST VIDEO: New video shot by a passing motorist shows authorities making an arrest in connection with the terror attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, that has left at least 49 dead and dozens more injured. https://t.co/lwXVQwZ6r4pic.twitter.com/q23MT2D0id— World News Tonight (@ABCWorldNews) March 15, 2019 Two police officers - one of whom appears to be armed only with a handgun - can be seen pointing their weapons at the open passenger-side door. "They were rural community cops I understand from Lincoln (a nearby town) who were present here. Anyone who has seen the footage... they put New Zealand first," Ardern said. "The individual charged was in custody 36 minutes from receiving the first call," she said. The officers can be seen dragging a black-clad figure away from the vehicle, as motorists slowly drove by on the other side of the city carriageway. Police Commissioner Mike Bush also praised the officers who brought the massacre to a halt. "I would also like to commend - and some of you would have seen, the brave actions on social media of police staff who responded to this incident," he said. "I'm extremely proud of what they've done today." 6:27AM Sayyad Milne was 'a typical Kiwi boy who loved playing football Brydie Milne, the half-sister of 14-year-old victim Sayyad Milne, has described him as "a typical Kiwi boy who loved playing football", Claire Drake reports. "He was just so kind and quietly gorgeous," Ms Milne, a mum of four living in the North Island, told The Telegraph. Sayyad was the youngest in the family. He was at Al Noor mosque, on Deans Ave, with his mother when the massacre happened. Sayyad's mum was in a different part of the building and managed to escape the gunman; friends of the family reported seeing Sayyad "lying on the floor of the mosque, bleeding from his lower body," said Milne. "It was a horrible situation. Imagine what his mum went through - leaving the mosque without him, not knowing if he was alive." The family reported Sayyad missing and waited at home for updates. Milne said they didn't hold much hope for the teen's survival. "Understandably they had to follow procedures. The bodies had to stay there over night. He wouldn’t have had any ID on him, like many people there," she said. "His mum, his poor mum, and his brother and sister have just had a very long night and day waiting." On Saturday afternoon Sayyad's parents were summoned to identify his body, said Ms Milne. "I’m devastated for my family, that they won’t get their baby boy back," she said. Milne said she would fly down to be with her Christchurch-based family on Sunday. "It’s just unreal in little New Zealand. It’s so not real. It’s going to be very real when I get to Christchurch tomorrow." In Dunedin, cordons have been lifted from Sommerville St, where police were investigating a potential connection with the Christchurch mosque shootings. Police remain outside a house on Sommerville St, Dunedin, associated with gunman Brenton Trent. Credit: Claire Drake Evacuated residents were allowed home on Saturday afternoon. Armed police remained outside at least one house, however. 5:14AM 'A brave little soldier': Boy, 14, dies John Milne says his 14-year-old son Sayyad was among thise who died at the Al Noor Mosque. Sayyad Milne was a student at Cashmere High School in Year 10 and attended the mosque every week with his mother and friends. "I've lost my little boy, he's just turned 14," Mr Milne told NZME. "I haven't heard officially yet that he's actually passed but I know he has because he was seen. [I'm] keeping it together and tears are helping. people are helping. Just by being here, it is helping." 5:06AM Saudi citizen among the dead A Saudi citizen has been confirmed as one of the victims of the attack. The Saudi-owned satellite news channel Al-Arabiya reports one of two citizens of the kingdom wounded in the New Zealand mosque attack has died. The channel, citing his family, said Mohsen al-Muzaini had succumbed to the wounds he suffered in the shooting on Friday. The channel reported the second wounded Saudi, named as 19-year-old Aseel Ansari, was struck in the knee by a rifle round, but still was able to flee. 4:54AM Australia 'bans Milo Yiannopoulos' from country Australia has reportedly banned Milo Yiannopoulos from entering the country after the controversial right-wing commentator described Islam as a "barbaric" and "alien" religious culture in the wake of the Christchurch attack. The decision was made on Saturday morning, The Age reported. In a Facebook post overnight, Mr Yiannopoulos, who was due to tour Australia later this year, said: "Attacks like this happen because the establishment panders to and mollycoddles extremist leftism and barbaric, alien religious cultures. Not when someone dares to point it out." Earlier, Labor frontbencher Tony Burke said: "Surely the Liberal government is still not going to issue a visa to someone so he can conduct a tour to promote hatred against Muslims." 4:16AM 'We still love this country' An imam who was leading prayers at a Christchurch mosque when a gunman brandishing semi-automatic weapons mowed down his congregation said the Muslim community's love for New Zealand would not be shaken by the massacre. "We still love this country," said Ibrahim Abdul Halim, imam of Linwood Mosque, vowing that extremists would "never ever touch our confidence". A message is displayed at a makeshift memorial outside Christchurch hospital in Christchurch, New Zealand Credit: AP Halim gave a harrowing account of the moment during Friday prayers when gunshots rang out in the mosque, replacing peaceful reflection with screaming, bloodshed and death. "Everyone laid down on the floor, and some women started crying, some people died immediately," he said. But, he said, New Zealand Muslims still felt at home in the south Pacific nation. "My children live here" he said, adding, "we are happy". He said the majority of New Zealanders "are very keen to support all of us, to give us full solidarity", describing how strangers exchanged hugs with him on Saturday. "They start to... give me big hug, and give me more solidarity. This is something very important." 3:46AM Ardern reiterates promise to change gun laws Ardern reiterated her promise that gun laws would change in New Zealand, and said the firearms used in the mosque shootings appear to have been modified. "New Zealanders will question how someone can come into being in possession of weapons of this nature. "The guns used in this case appear to have been modified. That's a challenge police have been facing and a challenge we will look to address in changing laws." She added: "There are a raft of issues on the table that I think we need to look at. We need to include modification of guns which can lead them to becoming essentially the kinds of weapons we've seen used in this terrorist attack." The Prime Minister said the main suspect in New Zealand's worst peacetime mass shooting intended to continue the rampage before he was caught by police. "The offender was mobile, there were two other firearms in the vehicle that the offender was in, and it absolutely was his intention to continue with his attack. "I'm not privileged to a full breakdown at this point but it is clear that young children have been caught up in this horrific attack." Outside the court where Tarrant was charged, his son demanded justice for his late father, who believed New Zealand to be a "slice of paradise." "It's outrageous, the feeling is outrageous," he said. "It's beyond imagination." According to reports, 71yo Daoud Nabi was the first victim of Christchurch and the man who welcomed the terrorist at the mosque. He was a refugee from Afghanistan and wanted to live peacefully in NZ, and he died as a hero. pic.twitter.com/r3VoJJAnHT— Emran Feroz (@Emran_Feroz) March 15, 2019 The Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the victims came from across the Muslim world, with Turkey, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia among the countries rendering consular assistance. One Saudi citizen and two Jordanians were among the dead, while five Pakistani citizens were missing. 1:28AM Hospital chief gives update on the wounded Christchurch Hospital chief Greg Robertson says seven of the 48 gunshot victims admitted after Friday's mosque shootings in have been discharged. Roberson says a four-year-old girl who has been transferred to an Auckland hospital in critical condition and 11 patients who remain in Christchurch are also critically wounded. "We have had patients with injuries to most parts of the body that range from relatively superficial soft tissue injuries to more complex injuries involving the chest, the abdomen, the pelvis, the long bones and the head." He says many patients will require multiple operations to deal with their complex series of injuries. 12:51AM Suspect was apprehended 36 minutes after first emergency call New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said on Saturday that officers were searching the suspected attacker's residence in the city of Dunedin. He added that it took just 36 minutes from the initial emergency call before the offender was in custody. Four people were taken into custody following the attack on Friday, one of whom was released a short time later. Mr Bush said two of them were arrested at a cordon, and that police were currently working to establish whether they had had any involvement in the incident. He also praised his officers for their brave actions in the wake of the tragedy, adding: "Their intervention may likely have saved further lives." 12:37AM New Zealanders reach out to Muslim neighbours with acts of kindness On Saturday, people across New Zealand were reaching out to Muslims in their communities on social media to volunteer acts of kindness. Many offered rides to the grocery store or volunteered to walk with them if they felt unsafe. In other forums, people discussed Muslim food restrictions as they prepared to drop off meals for those affected. The prime minister said the attack reflected "extremist views that have absolutely no place in New Zealand." Immigrants "have chosen to make New Zealand their home, and it is their home," Ardern said. "They are us." 12:00AM How Brenton Tarrant's hate spread across social media How Tarrant's hate spread across social media 11:24PM Suspect's family helping police Australian police say the family of the suspect in the New Zealand mosque shootings is helping their investigation. New South Wales state Police Commissioner Mick Fuller says his officers are investigating to help New Zealand police and to ensure the safety of residents in the Australian state where suspect Brenton Tarrant is from. Fuller says Tarrant's family is from the northern New South Wales town of Grafton and contacted police after seeing media reports of the shootings that killed at least 49. Fuller says Tarrant has spent little time in Australia in the past four years. Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Mick Willing says Tarrant was only known to police for "minor traffic matters." Willing says there's no information to suggest any further threat in New Zealand or Australia. 11:12PM Suspect pictured in court Brenton Tarrant, charged for murder, made a sign to the camera during his appearance in the Christchurch District Court in New Zealand. Writing in the Express, Mr Javid called the attack "heart-breaking". He added: "Sick to the stomach by the massacre of 49 innocent worshippers as they attended Friday prayers. "They were simply targeted for being Muslims, as they paid respects to God. "My own late father never missed Friday prayers. I often joined him, and I fondly look back on the peaceful moments we shared." 10:01PM Christchurch suspect appears in court charged with murder New Zealand police tweeted that the suspect has now appeared in court in Christchurch. "I can tell you one thing right now - our gun laws will change." Jacinda Ardern said the alleged attacker, Brenton Tarrant, would surely have killed even more people were it not for the policemen. It’s going to be very real when I get to Christchurch tomorrow." The decision was made on Saturday morning, The Age reported. That's a challenge police have been facing and a challenge we will look to address in changing laws." She added: "There are a raft of issues on the table that I think we need to look at. We need to include modification of guns which can lead them to becoming essentially the kinds of weapons we've seen used in this terrorist attack." Scenarios
SOOTHE : for one muse to calm the other during a panic attack.
Zazie doesn't understand what's happening. They don't know this feeling spreading through their swarm, infesting every piece of them. They think it might be fear of some kind but there isn't anything here to be afraid of. Everyone they care about is safe and mostly sound, the danger has passed, been taken care of. For now. They'd just been sitting on Rook's roof, thinking about it all, turning every piece over in their head, reliving it all where they can examine everything with the benefit of hindsight.
Maybe... they shouldn't have done that.
It's been a few days, long enough for them to flit between most of the parties involved and see them settle. They'd brought Audrey to Rook to recover from whatever plugging her head into a computer did to her. They hadn't allowed themself to really settle and think yet, this was the first time...
They were shaking. Each member of the swarm was but they weren't losing cohesion, instead clinging all the more tightly to each other where they were safer, as a whole. They were shaking, buzzing, curled into a ball without realizing they'd moved. Why couldn't they remember moving? They couldn't move, they couldn't think, everything was narrowed down to blood and meat and a demon's eyes looking out of formerly familiar ones, an empty and dead gaze from another pair. A twisting, tightening sensation that said 'you helped, you helped, its part your fault those eyes looked like that, that they nearly died.' Why why why what is this, what is happening to them!?
There's a small hand on their back, then another. Turning to see who it is feels nearly impossible and one violently green eye peeks at Audrey for a long moment before they reach to tangle fingers in her cloak and hold, refusing to let go.
A familiar face, or mask, helps. A familiar scent helps more. The thought of someone else who's seen what they have, all the insanity, the demons and blood, that helps too.
Words don't come but they bury themself against her chest with a surge of movement that's all they can manage. They still don't know what's going on, why this is happening, but it's a little easier now. Just enough. They can figure this out, they've got to.
Being so close to others has changed them. It's not all entirely for the better.

No one who took a nap around Zazie was safe and it was a shame she hadn't yet learned that. But it just meant that they still had another target for their annoying little pranks when Legato was onto them and the rest of Knives' people were such bores.
They're expecting to be yelled at, scolded, or even just ignored. They don't expect the little noises and shaking shoulders and blink for a few seconds before they realize that she's laughing. She's actually sitting there giggling at their little prank! Their confused expression shifts to a bright, delighted grin and they giggle in turn, practically skipping over as she puts the eyes back on and shakes her head.
"They're fun! I keep finding new places to put them and annoying people!" The swarm reaches under their shirt and pulls out a handful of the things, shaking them in their hand. Then their grin turns sly and they lean in a little.
"I even put some on some of the Plant containers. I wonder how long it will take Conrad or Knives to notice?"

Zazie flits back and forth between behaving as the elder and younger sibling in this relationship. Mostly it depends on the situation but also their own mood, whether they feel like being obnoxious and tiny or actually acting like the damn eons old hivemind they are.
It's never in the context of being a higher rank though. As far as Zazie is concerned, their whole dynamic exists outside the bounds of the Eye and the Guns. The only time they "pull rank" is when they're justifying their actions to someone like Legato or Conrad. If they're even a half member, they can totally boss around the peons right? Right!

"I can get out of most rooms and certainly won't stay on top of the fridge. Nets though... I can only sorta get out of them. Unless I chew through it."
"Glue traps hurt! The net was bad enough already!"

The Worm watched the robot, turning its stalk eyes to track 41-D as it hovered about. Just in case. Zazie wasn't there to harass the robot or keep it away from Audrey so the Worm was responsible for keeping an eye on it.
When Rook came back the Worm finally moved, climbing up Audrey's arm to settle on her shoulder so she had her hands free. And not for begging purposes, certainly not.
Of course, Rook had to go and point out that it had already eaten and the Worm flutters it's wings and then droops sadly. No nibbles for the Worm? How sad! How cruel!
Oh well, Zazie will be here soon and then they'd have snacks as a swarm.
@threadsandwings
Fortunately for everyone, it took far more then a few verbal barbs or quips to allow 41-D the freedom to actually cause harm to a living creature, and Aid seemed mostly disinterested in starting any real issues at the moment. ...They did however let out a soft, almost agitated sounding beep that was definitely directed at the little worm on the young woman's wrist. Aid turned their efforts to the small bits of tidying that they were big enough to do, and towards monitoring the IV and making sure the line did not become tangled. Rook was only gone a short while before returning with a small container of a lightly sweet pudding, and a large container of water with a straw. The container, he placed on the table beside her. The pudding Rook offered directly to Audrey. "Here you are. I want you to go slowly, but please try and eat as much of it as you can... and don't let that little one try to fool you. It's had breakfast already." The old man tilted his head at the little worm. @avataroftheswarm
