You know what I miss the most about litg season 2 that all the other seasons after have failed to do? The drama that doesn't just revolve our character... season 2, you had Hope and Priya drama, Lottie drama with just about anyone, Shannon and Jo drama like there was more to the characters than just some random comments made to remind you that they exist. Like poor Jamal never speaks or does anything if not paired with him.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the new chapter of season 6 because, of course, our character and whomever they're paired with went on a data to create "tension" or "drama" but it just makes me sigh because nothing happens with the other islanders other than being into your character.

I miss the time when the characters felt like real people and had interpersonal relationships, and the whole island didn't just revolve around your own character.

Okay what about this hypothetical/prediction to come.

Ozzy sticks and ends up single because Grace brings back Hamish and Amelia brings Marshall. Ozzy is absolutely shocked and also visibly unhappy to see him. It’s not the happy little reunion that MC and Amelia had. Then MC enters by herself. Ozzy is shocked that Grace switched, shocked to see Marshall, and triple shocked to see MC. Like heart stopping. Man was just thrown into a washer.

Now let’s think for a second s2 the stick or switch how some ended up single and picked islanders to save from unpopular couples.

Ozzy and MC end up single along with Amelia’s partner.

MC and Ozzy spend time together MC is there for Ozzy while going through the Marshall stuff and since their single they share a kiss. 😏

Now the three have to choose a person to save from the unpopular couples. They can’t be together just yet. Imagine Ozzy has to choose between saving Amelia or Grace or something like that and MC has to choose to save some people including Marshall. Either way they are stuck longing for each other. MC saved Marshall only because they want to see Ozzy and Marshall work out their problems. Ozzy is slightly upset MC chose Marshall because of their beef. The aaanngstttt. Marshall is done with the games because he realizes this is the one shot he has to make up with his brother and MC is there helping him do so. Ozzy is jealous their spending a lot of time together and lays it on thick acting like he’s into who he saves. Intentionally trying to make MC jealous and also pretending he doesn’t care because he’s hurt (cause he doesn’t know why MC and Marshall are getting close and that it’s for his benefit and not romantic) and had deep feelings for MC. To Ozzy its Marshall striking again, taking an ex but she was never his ex so Ozzy feels guilty to outright speak about how he feels. MC notices Ozzy being different and starts to get hurt by this but is still determined to help Marshall makeup with Ozzy for Ozzy’s sake.

Marshall during this is genuinely starting to fall for MC dropping the player boy antics. And when Marshall and Ozzy finally start to makeup which starts out as a fight. Marshall explains how much of a help we are and is on his way to apologize and confess his feelings the second time.

IN WALKS ZEPH. (aka Toby) who walks right up to MC and drops that he never went after Amelia, he was under the assumption it was MC, and that Amelia pretended to be MC down to the mannerisms. And double whammy she followed him on tour and she left him at the airport after an argument and he felt guilty that he just let her go. Zeph apologizes to MC and wants to be with her.

Then Marshal and Zeph are both vying for MC while Ozzy checks on MC and just trying to be there for her regardless of feelings because he “has our back” and knows what we need is a shoulder and ear.

And if the person we wanted wasn’t single we’d have the challenge of winning them back plus their new partner to fight with lmao.

Chapter Two

Suresh was unsure of how he got here, how he got back to their apartment. His apartment he corrected himself bitterly. Not that it mattered, it wasn’t home anymore, no matter what he called it, not without Harlow.

He wasn’t sure who helped him to a chair, Finn or Dana probably, but he welcomed it. He felt so raw, like an open and bleeding wound, and he wasn’t sure he could keep standing. Someone placed a glass of ice water next to him, and he watched as the ice moved around and settled, as the conversation around him turned into a faint drone.

His eyes gently traced the condensation on the glass and watched as it collected into a water drop, falling gently against the side of the glass before collecting at the bottom. He was unsure of how long he sat there, watching the ice melt, but it only felt like seconds. And as he watched, a chilling thought entered his mind.

“Do you think she’s cold?” Suresh spoke up, his voice hoarse, his eyes turning to look at Finn.

“Suresh, mate-“ Finn began, the quiet conversation ceasing around them. But Suresh continues as if he hadn’t heard him.

“I had them give her a blanket, I was worried she would get cold.”

Finn looked at their other friends almost helplessly, no one saying anything until Dana takes a seat on the arm of the chair, before gently squeezing his bicep.

“No babe,” she muttered. “I don’t think she’s cold. She’s Harlow. She’s never cold.”

Suresh nodded as his eyes settled back onto the glass, he just wished everyone would leave. Leave him alone, and just stopped pretending they cared about Harlow.

Harlow was everything good and kind in the world and they treated her like she was nothing, and Suresh could never forgive them for it. And for the love of God, he just wanted them the fuck out of their- his- apartment.

“Get out,” he muttered.

“Babe what-“

“I said get out,” He raised his voice. “Get the hell out. All of you. Now.”

“Suresh-“

“No. Get the fuck out!” He snarled, standing up, knocking the glass off the table. “Standing around like you’re grieving, like you care.” Here his voice broke but he kept pushing on. They needed to hear what he had to say. “It’s a load of bullshit. You all treated her like shit in the Villa. Like she was scum, less than you. You don’t get to be here, in her home, acting like you cared about her. Get the fuck out! Now! I never want to see any of you again. You’re no longer welcome.”

“Mate-“

Suresh picked up the nearest glass and threw it, shattering it against the wall.

“I’m not your mate and I don’t know why I have to repeat myself, get out. Now,”

He watched as they filed from his home, only Dana and Eddie glancing back at him, and he slammed the door behind them, the sound echoing in his suddenly too empty apartment.

He reached for the bottle of gin they had left in their haste to leave, to get away from him, and hesitated for a slight moment. He had been sober for a year, ever since Harlow had left him before Love Island, and he had no intentions of ever touching it again. But now Harlow was gone, so all bets were off. His mind made up, he didn’t even bother with a glass, popping the cork and just taking a swig from the bottle. The warmth that followed eased the cold, aching emptiness inside of him.

He gripped the bottle tighter and made his way to their bedroom. He could deal with the broken glass and the mess tomorrow. It didn’t matter right now. Nothing did.

Epistle, definitely. It was originally a one-shot, but I'm going to continue the story. Hoping for HEA, but that all depends on what Hermione & Draco do.

Narration, witty asides, description & small details, world-building...? I find it difficult to answer this question.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Reading too many others fics instead of making myself sit down to write my own. 😳 I take too long between chapters. I need to write more about how my characters are feeling/sensing, etc., particularly in love scenes. Maybe showing some characters' bad traits?

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I enjoy it, even if there's not a translation. I don't mind looking it up. If it fits the character, this should be included. I think right now I only have one ESL, and I try to pepper his dialogue with Swedish words and phrases and nicknames. Sweet Henrik.

LITG! First fics I ever read, too.

Uhhh...I think WIDFL, my very first (and a WIP). And I'm very proud of Epistle.

Well, funny that you ask hahaha😅 I was just peer pressured into writing my first smutty smut (ahem Serendipity ahem), but idk if I'll do it again🙈

Ummm not quite, but there was a time when somebody had posted a chapter of a Will fic and it was suspiciously similar to the first chapter/prologue of Stargazing. Like, their MC had a similar vibes for the name, was also an artist. The structure of the chapter was very similar too - it started with MC doing the intro, then had a line break and then a basically paraphrased paragraph from my fic of how the MC walked up to the firepit. It was so bizarre... That fic stayed on for a few days and since then was removed or hidden, but I still have a screenshot of it somewhere.

🙈🙈🙈🙈 Jesus Christ. I'm struggling to write right now. I took too long a hiatus and now that I actually do have inspiration and desire to write, I open my wips that are so so dear to me and I love so so much (Stargazing and Beloved & Beloathed) and I just blank out. I get so scared trying to continue them because I feel like I'll ruin all my hard work, if that makes any sense? I feel like I don't know how to continue them. And then I get so overwhelmed that I just close the doc. And then the cycle continues and the writing pause gets even longer and it becomes even harder. But I really really don't want to abandon them because they need to get their deserved ending. Ugh. Sorry for rambling, but I think I just needed to be honest and get that off my chest.

What are your writing strengths?

I think just prose, in general. Like, descriptions of feelings/mood/scene setting and shit like that lol

What are your writing weaknesses?

Dialogue. Or at least it's my biggest insecurity haha😅 and probably not getting too carried away with descriptions👀

OMG I have another theory. I hope you agree! I’m replaying the season and with the knowledge of volume 2. What if when Amelia and the boys come back from their dates, Ozzy isn’t uncomfortable because of what happened between him and Amelia but what he realized?

What if he is uncomfortable and nervous because he doesn’t feel the same level of attraction and in general the little tiny flutters (small because slowburn but we know they are there from the scenes we have with him already) of feelings he’s already starting to get when he’s one on one with MC.

Thinking it’s just that he’s attracted to both of them makes it easier for him to ignore and stay loyal to Grace but realizing he’s into one twin more then the other spells real internal trouble and why he’s specific in the pool scene in volume 2 and the truth or dare scene in volume 2 where he goes for MC if prodded about who he fancies the most. He already realized on the date that he was more into MC then Amelia. Hence him being nervous and embarrassed. I’m so so so certain of this now.

I think we are in store for major angst though because of how much Ozzy we are getting.

BESTIE STAHP THIS IS LITERALLY SO CUTE ITS CANON NOW!! I will literally not accept anyone else’s theory on why Ozzy came back uncomfy from the date with Amelia. 🥹🥹🥹 thank you so much for feeding my Ozzy obsession.
