I love finding funny books that teach kids in fun and interesting ways, so “Interrupting Chicken and the Elephant of Surprise” was guaranteed to be a hit for us. 📚 This hilarious book by David Ezra Stein and @macmillankidsbooks teaches kids about the element of surprise. (Although the little red chicken believes it is the “elephant” of surprise!). 😂 This book is so much fun to read aloud, especially when we paired it with this easy elephant craft, which allowed my daughter to participate in the reading by blowing the party horn trunk and surprising me. We will be reading this one over and over for a while! Head over to the blog to read our full review, and find out what other elephant inspired games we paired it with! #kidsbooks #booksforkids #learningthroughplay #kidcrafts #craftsforkids #elephantcrafts #readaloud #readingtogether #teachinglanguagearts #literaryelements #kidsbookstagram #readingasafamily #booksonmyshelf #readingtogether #kidsbookswelove #storytime #childrensbooks #kidlit #picturebooks — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2RJ2enn

Symbolism
"...the Bride of Christ, who must wear purple and jewels and fine linen that she may hide the pallid macerated body that is worn by the suffering that she seeks for and wounded by self-inflicted pain” (Wilde). The Purple Vestment. This symbol represents the meaning behind why Dorian Gray draped his portrait in purple cloth. “The Bride of Christ” wears purple to hide a body worn by suffering and wounded by self-inflicted pain. Similarly, the portrait of Dorian Gray becomes ugly and aged because of the sins he has committed, or “the self-inflicted pain”.

I think this is my best commentary till date because I wasn’t really thinking about what to write next, it just came alive once I started writing about the specific quote that was stated in the book. I think I could say I talked about perspective, lens, characterization.
