“HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOKUBABEY!!” You whooped when you slapped the front door open. Bokuto came running down the stairs in only boxers with a paranoid look on his face.

“Calm down, we’re not burglars.” Akaashi walked ahead to set the snacks down on his credenza.

“HEY, don’t rule it out. I was watching this documentary the other day-“ You cut him off by grabbing his hand, earning you a surprised yelp from the owl boy.

“You really need to stop watching the videos Kuroo sends you, they all make you act some kind of way and we get to deal with the aftermath.” You frowned for a millisecond before flashing him a toothy grin and looking at Akaashi for reassurance. The latter nodded.

“It’s your birthday Bokuto! We’re doing whatever you like, we brought you snacks right at 12 o’ clock to experience your birthday for as long as it lasts.” Akaashi sighed, bracing himself for the incoming storm of excitement that would explode from Bokuto’s mouth in a minute.

“ALL 24 HOURS? WERE STAYING UP?” Yep, Akaashi was right. “I’ve always wanted my birthday to be longer...how did I not think of this sooner? Ah! What should we do? Good thing I took a nap! I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH.” Pulling you both into an agressive hug, there was a synchronized groan.

“Well (y/n) and I didn’t nap all day so you’re in charge of keeping us awake with all that energy of yours.” The black haired boy grumbled into the hug. Bokuto let go and placed a hand on his hip, “Deal.”

“Speak for yourself, Akaashi. I’ve done countless all nighters.” You boasted, locking elbows with Bokuto and walking toward the kitchen.

“You’re literally a baby. You nap in every car ride where you’re not the driver.” Akaashi followed.

You stuck your tongue out at him and he simply rolled his eyes. Bokuto looked to you then to Akaashi, sighing but shrugging off the mini argument. His owl eyes shrunk in concentration as he tried to figure out what to do for the next 24 hours.

“Okay!” Akaashi and you turned at his call for attention. “I’ve decided that the best plan of action is to start off with the light stuff like watching movies or homework if you guys have any and then we’ll do the intense stuff when we’ve been awake for a couple of hours and feel the sleep kicking in.”

“It’s smart to do more interactive activities when we’re tired but I’m afraid to ask what you mean by ‘intense activities’’” Akaashi mumbled, Bokuto chuckled ominously.

“I have twister! And we’ll make an obstacle course...” He continued to ramble on about the ideas he had and Akaashi and you knew it was going to be a long day.

Hour 5

Bokuto put on a movie for and you pretended to be critics and pointed out all of its flaws. Bokuto and you chortled at how serious Akaashi got about critiquing the movie- he really should’ve majored in film.

Hour 10

The drowsiness began to kick in for you but you refused to show any sign of weakness. Your eyes were peeled and you blinked constantly to keep the dryness from reddening your eyes. Akaashi, being as observant as he was and just looking up to admire you every once in a while, noticed but kept it to himself since he had to admit that it was amusing to watch you battle with pride about being a ‘professional staying awake person’ as you put it.

Hour 13

Twister time! And Bokuto was feral. He pushed you out of your place, making you lose, when his hip was beside your face and he bumped you intentionally (and he lied about doing that when you accused him). Akaashi lost on purpose and went to use the restroom but not before mumbling incoherently about Bokuto being a cheater.

Hour 15

At this point, Akaashi and you were begging Bokuto to do something not so physically demanding so that you could sneak in at least a few minutes of sleep. Your head was on Akaashi’s lap and he was so frazzled by it that he stuttered while lecturing Bokuto about the dangers of driving with zero hours of sleep.

“AHAHA you stuttered, Akaashi!” The owl boy teased and Akaashi’s face heated up, even more so when you nuzzled on his lower thigh to get more comfortable. A wave of relief washed over him as he thanked the forces of nature and whatever was out there that Bokuto was so simple minded, “the sleep deprivation must really be getting to you.”

You shot up at Bokuto’s words, “IM NOT SLEEPY AT ALL. It’s Akaashi, like you said, Boku.” You were not about to even be vaguely assumed to be tired.

“If we can’t go out, let’s do karaoke!”

You and Akaashi looked at each other and breathed in like exhausted parents trying to appease their hyperactive child. And at this point, that’s what you were. Only nine more hours.

Hour 20

“Wake up. Wake up. Wake up. Wake up. “ Bokuto alternated from you and Akaashi as he watched the two of you nod off every few minutes while he was bringing out his birthday cake from the fridge.”

He served the two of you your pieces and didn’t bother with the candles or the song. You had already sung a dubstep version of ‘Happy Birthday’ and awkwardly inserted Bokuto’s name in during karaoke.

“Eat. Sugar will keep you awake.” Akaashi heeded his friends orders and lifted the form up to his mouth but sleep sounded much more enticing. You and Bokuto both watched Akaashi’s head flip back and his mouth open just a few centimeters wide, his breath coming out slowly.

Chuckling evilly, you took a bite from the cake, “Weak.”

“I honestly thought you would be the one to go down first.” Bokuto said in between mouthfuls. It was really a mystery how this boy could have so much energy with so little sleep.

“Huh? I’m literally a god when it comes to not sleeping.” You slurred. Bokuto grinned, it wasn’t long before the sleepless drunk (y/n) emerged. You were fun when you were fueled by sleep but he could really mess with you when you were in the vulnerable state of almost-sleep.

It only took about half an hour before the two of you headed to the dining room to leave Akaashi alone in the living room to sleep.

“I’ve got a question.” He set his palms down flat on the wood.

“Yes, birthday Bokuto? Ahh I mean birthday boy...oh wait, it still weeerks...it’s even bettturr.” Your words tripped out of your lips and he couldn’t help but stifle a laugh.

“How come you haven’t made a move on Akaashi?” The question came at you like a canon ball. Your cheeks flare up and usually you and the wit to counter Bokuto’s ridiculous remarks but this was sleepy (y/n).

“Huh? Akaashi is lame, he’s literally a sleepyhead...” you denied.

“Cmon, (y/n). I’m dense but I know my best friends and you like him and he like you.” You wanted to smack the smirk off his face but you were just so lethargic.

“Yeah, he’s a cute sleepyhead.” You drew circles on the table with your index finger and Bokuto couldn’t help it compare you to a little girl with a crush. He smiled at the thought while you continued to breathy commentary on Akaashi. “He’s not even just cute, he gorgeous like I had a dream we were married and I woke up soooo happy , I cried. But it’s weird, no?”

Bokuto asked ‘what?’ With a flick of his eyebrows and you sighed and continued to exhaust yourself by talking. “Well, we’ve been friends since forever and it’s weird because he treats me so well and I love this him, I don’t want him to become someone else if we’re together. And don’t assume he likes me.”

“Are you kidding me? He’s love struck on you, he stares at you and he takes you places even though he hates driving. He keeps every dumb selfie you take on his phone. When he talks about you, it’s like he’s lost in his own world. And I get it, you’re really great, (y/n).”

“B-Bokuto...” You breathed out. The drowsiness was out of your mind and the only thoughts flowing through your head were those pertaining to what Bokuto was saying.

“Yeah, (y/n). Akaashi sees you just like I do but for him there’s just something extra there. Like he doesn’t just want to be with you, he wants to take care of you and for you to take care of him.”

“That sounds so-“

“Chummy, I know.” The black-white haired boy chuckled, his head falling on his wrist. “But it’s true and it has been for about...3 years now?”

“Three? HUH?” Your eyes opened wide. 3 years and you didn’t notice? Or maybe you chose not to see it because you were afraid of mistaking it for something it wasn’t.

Bokuto nodded, looking over to the curled up Akaashi on the couch. “You should tell him. If you wait for him, you’ll be waiting for six more years.”

“Maybe I will.” You confidently stood up, chest puffed out before grains of static filled you vision, that was too quick of a movement for someone who hadn’t slept in nearly a day.

“Actually, tell him after you get some rest.” Bokuto shuddered before getting up to help to balance yourself.

“But it’s your birthday...I’m not sleepy...” He lightly shoved you next to Akaashi on the couch and you r head fell to the armrest and almost instantaneously, you fell asleep.

Bokuto stood back and gave a satisfied nod at his sleeping friends. “You two made it farther than I thought you would.”

He looked down a his phone at the sound of a ding from Kuroo.

Kuroohohoh: I’m outside. Birthday dinner is on me!!

“Okay, gotta go!” He snapped a quick photo of the two of you sleeping beside each other before slipping on his shoes and continuing his birthday celebration. Akaashi’s eyes twitched at the sound of the door and he caught a glance of you next to him but he would save his freaking out to after he got his 8 hours.

okay so idk if you watched/are planning on watching falcon and winter soldier but i watched the first episode the other day and they were speaking french (just a few seconds) and I UNDERSTOOD SOME WORDS DLDJDJ and i was so proud of myself. i‘ve only ever learned french with duolingo lol (i only do like 5 mins a day and that‘s why i was so surprised that i understood some of it!!). and yeah apart from latin i feel like italian, german, french and english are all similar in a sense.. i mean obviously they‘re completely different languages but for example there are some grammatical constructions in french that i think i wouldn‘t understand if i only spoke english? so when i translate those things into english you can‘t directly translate them bc you say things differently, but when i translate them into german then it makes more sense to me. idk that‘s something i noticed so i feel like if you already know multiple languages it‘s easier to learn another language compared to if you only know one language and are trying to learn a second one. even if the languages aren‘t similar then i think you get the hang of it easier.

ikd slsjsjs also i don‘t want you to think that i‘m a linguistic genius or anything lmfao, like i‘m only fluent in english and german and i‘m just a wannabe (ew that word) polyglot sksj (yes i had to google polyglot— i do think learning ancient greek would be super cool tho? like imagine studying latin AND ancient greek, whew). and honestly i don‘t think i‘ll ever be fluent in another language bc i don‘t plan on living anywhere other than germany or possibly england and i‘m not dedicated enough to properly learn any other languages esp if i don‘t have anyone to speak the language with. but i still try my best and i just love language/languages as a whole so yeah i‘m happy & just learning as much as i can dkdjh🥰

i really like niall‘s music toooo!!!! And doja cat 😌😌😌😌 And THE VAMPS OG MY GOD. i got to see them live bc they were the opening/support act for little mix and ajdsjskslslsjsjsj. (Also i love concerts, some of the best memories of my life are concerts, i‘ve seen nicki minaj live 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 and justin twice and my heart fills every time i think about how excited i was, it was my first concert ever (16th of September 2016 😌) and i was the happiest person alive seeing justin drew fucking bieber (even if i‘m not tooo sure about justin nowadays)

I mean I‘ve heard about it and i keep googling it but i‘ve never watched it (is it even a film???? or like a proper musical? also pls tell me you grew up with high school musical. i have a few friends who didn‘t and it makes me so sad 😭😭😭 hsm is the best thing to happen to my childhood , the sooooongs— i still listen to some of them every week or month lool they make me so happy)

ENDGAME SPOILERS!!

Okay I saw Endgame last night and I need to vent... AHHHHHH!!! haha I have so many mixed emotions and I don’t even know. Also I typed this on mobile so sorry for any typos. 

So I first saw Iron Man when I was 11, and it was so cool. I grew up watching all of these movies. At first, Cap was my favorite bc he was ~cute~ and I was a young teen girl and so were all my friends. I also loved Loki for this reason haha. Then I saw Iron Man 3 and LOVED IT. I bought it on DVD as soon as it came out. Tony Stark was amazing, but also he dealt with anxiety and panic attacks? His and Pepper’s relationship was everything as well, and also his and Happy’s and Rhodey’s friendships. Tony felt real and human and relatable, and it was cool he was able to overcome so much even with all of his trauma. In AOU he just wanted to protect his team, and no one truly listened to or respected him or tried to understand him, and he ended up with more trauma and guilt. I just wanted him to have a happy ending. Then he met Peter and it brought me hope, after all the Civil War crap. Infinity War was crushing but not completely because I knew another movie was coming out, so there was still some hope. But then Endgame. Honestly... I’m still processing, but I don’t think I’m happy with it. And for more reasons than just Tony, though I’ll talk about that first. His storyline just seemed... blah. He gets back, gets to yell at Steve, and then goes and lives in seclusion with Pepper and has a kid. Yet you know that even with that life he’s still depressed and guilt-ridden. It’s how Pepper knows he won’t stop. So he does his best to help, time travels or whatever (honestly that whole part is still kinda confusing to me- it created alternate timelines, but what are the implications of that- and also for the rest of the MCU??) and then Tony comes back and it looks like they’ve succeeded. I was expecting him to notice something off about Nebula, tbh. But anyway, final battle, and we all know what happens. He makes the sacrifice play. He dies. Pepper says it’s okay, but I just can’t agree. He already made the sacrifice play in the first movie. I think it should have been Steve or someone else in this one to do it. If all Tony’s pain and trauma has been building to this- I just feel empty inside. It’s not a satisfying end. Sure, he saved the universe, but I feel like Strange literally could have like left a message saying don’t send Nebula to the past and all of that would have been avoided. It felt so pointless. They’d already won. Tony also only got to reunite with Peter for like 30 mins, which is lame, and will bring a whole lot more trauma to him. He didn’t even get to see Morgan again. Ughhh I’m just annoyed. And then Steve?? He just goes to live in the past?? The whole movie he’s been saying he doesn’t move on, and then he literally never does, he never grows from there. He doesn’t really develop at all. It’s true- he never truly moved on from the past, and so that means... he’ll just go live there??? I think a better move would be to have him grow to accept his life and try to be happy and actually move on. Or, like I said earlier, he could have realized he can’t move on and made that sacrifice play himself in order to allow others to live and move on. I think that would have been a more satisfying arc to his story. And it would show the love he actually has for Tony- to allow Tony to live with his family and show that he heard and understood what Tony said at the beginning of the movie. (Also, they never had a real conversation where they made up. It was like they kind had that “do you trust me” moment but Steve never truly apologized and I feel like we got jipped out of a good heartfelt moment between those two.) Also- the Natasha sacrifice was sad, but I’m not totally surprised by it. It feels like a very her thing to do, to save her family and Clint’s. But then after everyone got mad and had a quick moment of silence, it was kind of forgotten?? Like they could have even had a memorial or small tribute at Ton’s funeral or elsewhere but like put something in?? It feels like she was just kind of brushed aside. (Also- I didn’t like BruceNat at first but grew to be okay with it, but then it never became anything? Bruce made himself into Professor Hulk and there was no real closure or conversation between him and Natasha? So like... what. was. the. point???) Again, everything with her just wasn’t that satisfying, but it’s something I may grow to view differently. I did enjoy Clint’s arc and I actually think they did a great job with him. Probably the strongest arc of the movie, actually. The way they handled Thor kind of annoyed me. I think it’s perfectly understandable that he would end up like that. He’s lost his family and most of his kingdom, and he feels responsible. I don’t have a problem with that. I have a problem with how the movie and the characters responded to that. Judgmental looks and jokes... like I’ll be honest, I did chuckle at Rhodey’s Cheez Whiz joke, but now I regret that. Like being fat is funny, haha look at Thor, he’s out of shape! Uhh yeah he’s depressed! And Rhodey should know better, being friends with Tony, he should know how to handle anxiety and depression. Nobody was really trying to help or even talk to Thor much, they really just wanted him to help them. Like he was clearly struggling, and yet that was used as a joke... it makes me sad. And also Thor never even looked back at Loki? The convo with his mom was nice though. But that reminds me? Was Loki’s infinity war death actually real then? Bc ugh. I’d be more willing to accept him being permanently dead if it wasn’t in such a lame way. Daggers, seriously?? Loki has freakin magic, and he’s smart!! He could have duplicated himself or something, and that type of lame death is so unsatisfying. Also. Captain. Freaking. Marvel. I went to the movie in a Captain Marvel T-Shirt, hers is one of the first actual comics I read, and I loved her movie. I was soooo excited to see her in this movie and become part of the team and to have some really fun banter with everyone. But then she just... disappears for basically the whole movie and hardly speaks at all (thinking about it- I think all the female characters speaking overall was wayyy low compared to mens which is sad) and she blows up the big ship at the end and that’s basically it. She didn’t really join the team, and she could have been so helpful! You’re telling me they didn’t make a way to communicate with her and they didn’t want to include her in their time travel adventures?? She could have had a funny interaction with Nick in 2012, or stopped Nebula from getting taken in 2014, or helped out more overall, idk. But she should have been a bigger part of the team. They hyped her up so much when she was hardly in the movie at all, which was extremely disappointing. Like I feel so cheated about this. This is something I’ll probably be bitter about for a while tbh... ugh she’s a queen and deserves so much more haha. Also Okoye and Wong would have been useful assets for the time travel and yet they were hardly in the movie at all? So many underutilized characters smh.... (Also I know this would be impossible and the point of the movie is for the main Marvel characters but you’re telling me that in 5 years, there was no random like French or Chinese or any other country’s scientist that could have developed time travel or another method of reversing the snap? Or someone from one of the bazillion planets out there? Like there have to have been other smart people/aliens who went all Liam Neeson after the snap and were out for revenge and solutions and they could have come up with something in those five years. But again, I know that wouldn’t work for the movie...) I just feel that a conclusion to the first real era and characters of Marvel should be more satisfying. But that’s just me, I know there are people who are plenty happy with it, and I think that’s valid. These are just my thoughts. Also, that was a long rant but I don’t want to be completely negative. Here’s some things I did enjoy. -Clint’s arc. Again, I felt it was really strong and emotional and hit all the right notes. They did a good job with him and I’m glad he got to go back to his family. -Nebula. She’s grown so much y’all. I do wish she got the final blow on Thanos, and that she clicked the button to go to the present faster so Thanos couldn’t come after them, but other than that I thought her storyline was great. She’s awesome. -That moment with all the female characters after Peter got hurt. I cheered. Marvel has so many amazing women and it was great to see them all together. I kinda wish they were given more lines and screen time though but this moment was super cool. -Morgan was adorable and I love her. -Pepper’s understanding of Tony was also great. She knew he needed to do something if he could, especially for Peter, she’s grown so much and she loves her mans I love her. -Almost the whole 2012 time travel thing was great. Some good humor and nostalgia, it was fun, I really liked it. The Loki alternate timeline would be cool to explore and I wonder if that’s what the show will be about. -Wanda had a great moment against Thanos. -Okay, while I do think that whole final battle was ultimately pointless and could have easily been avoided, the moment when T’Challa and the Guardians and everyone came in through the portals was amazingly epic and beautiful and powerful. The audience cheered and I did too. It was a cool scene. -Tony and Nebula in the ship at the beginning was great. -If Steve isn’t gonna be Cap anymore, Sam deserves it and I’m glad they went with him. -The Ancient One, Frigga, and other’s cameos were pretty cool. I liked those moments. -Tony’s convo with Howard was great. I like that he got a little bit of closure with his dad. There’s probably more but I’ve written a lot so I need to be done haha. OH WELL I’M JUST GONNA ANSWER THE QUESTION HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOOOoOOOO

When I’m critical of a character in most cases, I try to be less “I take issue with this character” and much less “screw this character, I hope this character burns in hell,” because that’s just immature and more “I take issue with choices the writer/director behind this character made to present this character to an audience.”

All my issues with Wanda in the MCU stem from the fact that they put less effort into her character story arc on account of her being a supporting character in a massive ensemble cast. Points that ought to be vital to her character are either sidelined or handwaved in favor of devoting those 30 seconds of screentime to some other character or conflict.

Point 1: Her vendetta against Tony Stark, literally™ her driving force for what we can assume to be half her life and screen time in Age of Ultron. Where did it go? (Even the “You locked me in my room” banter in Civil War is just that—one line of banter tied to a specific situation that says frustratingly little about what their relationship is as a whole.) The writers obviously want you to believe it’s not important anymore, so we can ignore it ever happened. Except that’s lazy hecking writing for something that is supposed to be so integral to her initial character development. We the audience are left wondering if they reconciled off screen, or if she still dislikes him while living on his dime (or payroll) which I imagine is an assumption some Anti Wanda Tony Stans like to make, which is in turn… a reasonable if not subjective assumption. Because we were given nothing that told us otherwise.

(I like to think they reconciled off screen. It makes no sense to me personally otherwise, but it kills me that this has to be a headcanon instead of actual confirmed canon.)

Point 2: That HYDRA Thing. The thing is, anyone who’s That Into Wanda has already read the supplemental material and knows the twins signed up for what they believed to be a front for SHIELD, or some other clandestine operation. I forget which, but they absolutely didn’t wittingly volunteer themselves to a Nazi organization per the AoU prelude (which I prescribe to). However, the canonicity of those MCU preludes are questionable at best (Nidavellir in the Thor: The Dark World prelude =/= Nidavellir in Infinity War). And the vast majority of movie watchers aren’t gonna know jack squat about them, and they don’t need to know about them. You shouldn’t have to dig into obscure supplemental material to understand why the heck the twins would subject themselves to something as shady as HYDRA in the first place. So we get a throwaway line comparing their situation to Steve’s experience with Dr. Erskine, which makes no sense because we already know Dr. Erskine was a nice man and not hecking HYDRA. They really could’ve done better here. And note how, like the Tony Stark Thing, her time with HYDRA is brushed under the rug and never mentioned again.

Point 3: They screwed over Avengers 2.0 (the team comprised of Steve, Natasha, Rhodey, Sam, Vision, and ofc Wanda). So who else noticed that the New Avengers never had the chance to successfully fend off a major threat together, on screen? All we get is Lagos sans Vision and Rhodey, which gets botched at Wanda’s expense, followed by immediate infighting. The OG6 have their unspoken bond and fanfare because of the gr8910 and unprecedented launchpad that was Avengers 2012. I assume a retread of that kind of launchpad with the New Avengers would’ve been considered too redundant for the MCU, but anything would’ve been better than the Nothing Burger we got. We never get the opportunity to grow attached to Wanda as a functioning Avenger of a functioning Avengers team. For a character with precious little screen time, soooo much more of that screen time is dedicated to her being put down / suffering / in a CoMpRoMiSeD situation than rising up to challenges and owning them. Being meguca Wanda is Suffering, basically… which is probably a leaf they took out of comics Wanda.

Point 4: Her powers are still whatever the plot demands them to be lmao. Right now the plot demands for her to be Jean Grey with red jazz hands (who can… also stitch Vision’s vibranium skin back together?? squint), because the MCU apparently isn’t ready for the Scarlet Witch to be an actual witch yet, and that’s lame (Kevin Feige only talking about how her and Doctor Strange are wielding the same ~~energy~~ 2 years ago is lame, because 1) prove it Feige, and 2) chaos magic when???). But I don’t doubt that if and when they are ready, they’ll go ahead and retcon actual magic into her powerset, because that’s the kind of thing that happens to every character named Wanda Maximoff across p much every medium. Except maybe cartoons.

And if you think comics Wanda isn’t actually more of a clusterfuck (I say, with endearment) than MCU Wanda, ho ho ho ho while I certainly love them both I’m gonna respectfully disagree.

Ok but this is interesting now, because I never considered what would happen if he succeeded. Which does put some interesting things to the table, however, the reality is Syndrome is destined to fail. “Inconveniences” don’t matter, because even if everything went perfectly to plan, he would still fail, because the Omnidroid would have outplayed him, and here we come to the biggest reason I cannot respect Syndrome.

He is a coward. He panics. He gets his chance to play the hero, and he just...flops.

Literally. That’s where his character completely falls out of interest to me. I mean, during his introduction we hear his monologue about “Everyone only respects power”, “Look at me and my cool gadgets”, and the woooorst part is his. Goddamn. Back story. You have problems with the Deavor backstory, but at least it was serious! Their family was torn apart by what happened. Her parents /died/.

You know what tore apart Syndrome?

“Go home Buddy, I work alone.”

Allow me to quote the man himself: “Lame, lame, lame, lame, LAME!”

Mr. Incredible saved his fucking LIFE, and by doing so, inadvertently destroyed his own career!

On another note, compared to Syndrome, Ev doesn’t need her tech to win. In the face of adversity, she adapted, and by taking away oxygen in the plane—she could have beat /any/ super. Because Ev is self reliant B) (unlike a certain hypocrite/fraud >_>)

As for the hate argument, I would say it’s more like distrust than hatred. Ev doesn’t blame Supers for her father’s death, she blames her father’s stupidity. She says that more than once.

As for why she targets Supers, can we really deny the inherent nature of Superhero work? “Put your life into my hands. Trust me.” Ev hates what they represent, but she doesn’t...necessarily want them dead? Unless it’s “convenient” haha. Even if she kills all the known Supers, there’s still gonna be more out there. New ones born every day. Nah. She doesn’t care about that. It’s the hero work she has beef with, and more importantly, hero worship.

If heroes are perceived as bad, no one will ever die like her father did. It’s not about eradicating Supers. It’s about keeping hero work illegal.

From the very beginning this movie (and the one before it) is about perception, and after the Omnidroid Crisis, there’s gonna be a lot of pro-super sentiment, and its what likely prompted Winston to go into full overdrive with his “Make Supers Legal Again”. Which probably forced Ev to take a Reactionary course of action to maintain the delegalization of Supers. Permanently.

Hmm this is actually more confusing than what I previously thought...I mean...for the protagonists’ to win, is the irony of the antagonist? That’s any story. It’s apparent in the first movie that Syndrome’s actions changed the public perception of superheroes, if it didn’t change the law. And his whole goal was to be a hero, but he proved himself incapable? Maybe it was because she drew it so close, in fact, right after the legalization of supers, but after a disaster like that...No one would challenge the law for decades. Finallyyyy those “conveniences” could easily have been Ev working in the background, making suggestions to Winston. It’s not the strongest argument due to lack of evidence, but I get the feeling Ev’s been pulling strings all along. Pluuuus it’s not neccessarily convenient that Frozen, Elastigirl, and Mr. Incredible are affiliates, it’s certainly not a secret. Mr. Incredible and Frozen had a goddamn TV show or something, if I’m not mistaken.

Evelyn challenges the perception of heroes, and the harm of someone—like Syndrome, her father, Winston, or even Mr. Incredible himself—taking fascination and adoration to the extreme. Supers are inherently dangerous, but Ev’s take is interesting because she sees the psychological danger they have on people. There is a lot more grey area in her philosophy than Syndrome’s “People only respect power”. Which...I think he and I have very different ideas on how to define respect—I call that fear. Ev on the other hand is never saying dumb shit like “only the strongest survive” she just thinks people should not be trusting, admittingly, to the point of absurdity.

I like your idea about holding off on the goggles thing, I feel like she blew the horn too early (though...that was a nice scene with the freezer). And if Syndrome succeeds, well, how long would he survive, honestly. And even if he did, what kinda people would get his tech, exactly? Only those who could afford it? What would his tech even look like in 50 years?

But yes. 60/70’s based cartoon movies, I doubt it was intended for this type of scrutiny lol

Look when the movie and script comes out I’m gonna write an essay on how Evelyn has the best villain motive ever written, is a character 1 billion times more interesting and relatable than fucking Syndrome, and anyone can fight me on this
