I've seen a fair number of posts both here and on reddit that question why Tav (or the Dark Urge) would end up as a group leader for any other reason that "game mechanics say so." There's the requisite "okay, well if you play a high charisma character I guess it makes sense," or on the other end of the spectrum, "if you're playing Durge and murder someone right off the bat everyone would be too scared to tell you no." And I get where people are going with this! I really do. But it also fundamentally misunderstands a facet of human nature, which is that the vast majority of people do not actually want to be in charge, because that means being held responsible for the outcome. Accordingly, most people will dither when a group consensus is needed: have none of you ever tried to get a group of friends to agree where to go for dinner? Yeah, it's like that, but waaaay worse.

A lot of times "leadership" is just the willingness to say, "fuck it, y'all do what you want, but I'm doing this." I see it all the time in a corporate environment, where people will go back and forth on group meetings without anyone making a decision until finally one brave soul goes "in my opinion the clear answer is x" and then everyone gratefully goes along with it. Because now it's not their responsibility when something goes wrong! They're just following along with someone else's suggestion, and maybe it works or maybe it doesn't, but at the end of the day they don't have to worry about the consequences unless they're personally affected. In which case they might step up and argue back, and then they're stuck being a leader, too. Welcome to adulthood!

Lae'zel is the only one who ever even tries to exert some kind of control, when she tells you to follow her lead on the ship, or calls you her subordinate in the Grove. But, crucially, she doesn't ever make any serious attempt to take control: you can just tell her, "lol, no," and she sort of confusedly gives way, because she doesn't know how to handle this scenario. In her world there are commanders and subordinates, and everyone knows where they stand and falls in line. She's never actually had to take control of a situation and so at the first sign of resistance she falls back on the dynamic that's familiar to her, which is executing the commands of someone older and more experienced. She goes through a lot of growth over the game, to the point that she can take over as a resistance leader in her own right by the end, but at the beginning she's a wet-behind-her-ears private with some decent combat chops and it shows.

Otherwise, your party consists of:

Shadowheart, who's trained in infiltration and assassination and does NOT want a lot of attention brought to her or her mission for a variety of reasons;

Astarion, who has literally been a slave for two centuries and canonically takes a while to realize that he can exert an opinion beyond complaining about it;

Gale, whose only friend is his cat and couldn't project-manage his way out of a wet paper bag;

Wyll, who was probably trained for command at one point but has been doing the lone-hero thing for a decade and has a very large secret that he's trying to conceal; and,

Karlach, who's only ever been a bodyguard and a soldier and is genuinely just happy to be here.

Honestly, it would be more a surprise if Tav/Durge didn't end up as their unofficial leader, given the general power dynamics at play. The first time Tav/Durge says something like, "fuck it, we need to do something instead of stand around arguing about it, let's go check out those ruins over there," it's a done deal. They're The Captain Now! As long as they don't make decisions that fundamentally oppose something dear and important to the other group members, they're not even going to get any argument. Because at the end of the day, not one of these walking disasters has enough trust in themselves and their decision-making skills to feel any kind of certainty that they can choose the right path forward. If someone else is going to take that decision out of their hands? They're going to follow, no questions asked, right up until the moment they can't.

-Instantly soooo happy you’re here! Of course Manon wasn’t avoiding him! She’s just . . . missing? Feels guilty but he can’t deny the relief in knowing why she’s been refusing his calls

-The relief dissipates immediately as he realizes that if her literal parents hired an investigator something is seriously wrong

-You see the state of his apartment and immediately feel bad for this guy

-You cook him a decent meal or try to tidy up his place and he thinks you’re the kindest person ever

-Working in the service industry he’s often looked down on so you literally treating him with basic courtesy gives you all his trust

-Feels so attached to you because he feels like your really the only one on his side in this situation. You’re only one that can understand(even if doesn’t understand it’s just for the case)

-You try to get facts and clues about Manon but he’s just going on and on about her

-But you let him rant in hope of finding any sort of lead

-He starts to get a little tooo comfortable in your company and it scares him how slowly instead of wanting you around to get Manon back . . . he just wants to see you.

-He feels so so guilty but again justifies the excessive amount of time he spends with you with the fact it’s “for Manon”

-Might accidentally call you Manon

-You’re the closest thing he’s got to her and if there’s a chance she won’t come back. . . at least you’re here

-When you visit the restaurant to investigate he trips over himself trying to open doors and pull out chairs for you

-Vincent pretends to be polite and professional but is seething inside with the thought of getting caught lol

-all the money he earned to take manon out? He using it to take you to a fancy dinner to uhhhhh discuss evidence

-you can see through it so clearly but he’s so sweet

-eventually when the case is closed, he finally asks you out not being able to bear not seeing you again <3

I can only hope the new Paris special won't force Marinette/ Toxinelle into the role of the "chaotic baddest bitch" for superficial praise and keeping Adrien/ Griffe Noire as nothing but her unconditional support again and the "good" one. Because literally from the way the powers of Ladybug and Chat Noir work that's bullshit and the MUCH weaker story premise character wise.

Toxinelle has no offensive powers. She can be as smart as she wants in this scenario her powers are needed for AFTER the Butterfly akumatized someone to save the city, so she can prevent said saving from happening.

Griffe Noire would be required to first nuke the city so the butterfly can react to something and that means alternative Adrien/ Griffe Noire would - the longer all that went on - have needed to let go of all morality he once had and agree to become the moster of the two so SHE can remain level headed and get the Butterfly from the hero.

That's still alot of pressure and burden on Toxinelle's shoulders, being the one who has to be the light at the end of the tunnel for both of them to get their happy ending in a better world. But for the love of God, Adrien throwing out his humanity and only holding onto her and his dead mother

I can only hope the special will be reasonable enough that Toxinelle will be the lesser evil of ShadyClaw and not waste so much story potential for another round of "Chloé the awful bitch". There is so much more interesting stuff you can do with Marinette than that, especially in the Toxinelle field.

Already as Ladybug Marinette showcases extremely dangerous anti-hero tendencies where she becomes so strategic that everyone involved stops being human beings or mattering in the moment because she needs to get something important done.

Most crucial examples are how Emilie Agreste's dead body was used as a mere inhuman tool by her in "Recreation" to defeat her insane husband, by cataclysming the lift and letting it crash down on Emilie to force Gabriel to stand still. Only though that Marinette then barely gave Gabriel enough time to throw the lift sideways and he only managed to save himself and Emilie from being crushed in the nick of time.

Or you know, all of Marinette's horrifying plan in "Destruction" that put several life in danger by sending Monarque to helpless civilians (even to ANNOY HIM) and Chat Noir was literally turned into a non-human object served on a silver plate to Monarque. He couldn't move an inch like a human is to be expected or even BREATH while Monarque went to grab for his throat while Marinette herself stood save and sound in the back because all she actually thought about in that plan were the Kwamis and herself (not even bringing up how fucked up it was to not even let Chat Noir know that her plan involves him having to possibly live with having cataclysmed a person.)

Everyone else MONARQUE had to keep save in her plan by not being the awful and sadistic monster they thought him to be. Tolerating all kinds of disrespectful bullshit and not using any Second chance or other miraculous powers besides voyage, or for the lols quartering Chat Noir's statue for example in a second's notice.

Marinette's plan in "Destruction" was horrifying and impossibly irresponsible in how she instinctively dehumanized everyone but herself and the Kwamis in it without noticing it and 100% relied on MONARQUE to be a decent and reasonable enough person underneath so she could get away with the insane endangerment and dehumanization of everyone but herself (especially Chat Noir).

Her final battle with Monarque had Marinette come back to this questionable morality when she pulled a low-blow anti hero move by dragging the dead spouse of the villain further into the fight, and risking to take any human dignity away from Emilie's remainings - who never wanted any of this being done in her name - by making it GABRIEL'S job to save and preserve her from Bug Noire.

Marinette 100% has some serious anti-hero tendencies in how she dehumanizes people sometimes as side-effect of her strategic mind and when she's either to caught up in her head or she thinks her goal justifies the means.

Jfc, quit the bullshit and let Toxinelle be the escalation of that side of Marinette because she and Adrien know their identities this time around - truly THEM against the world - and she's stuck in a position where Adrien was forced to let go of his humanity and other emotional attachments for their cause, is way too far gone by now and she has to make sure they actually win so all of this wasn't for nothing.

Give me a Marinette/ Toxinelle who made it out of her having been bullied alot worse and that's how she got into this, but by now she deep down fully regrets ever having started this and wished with every inch of her heart she could stop

but she knows she herself already hardly could live with herself after all this so she would never ask Adrien/ Griffe Noire to let go of the only hope he has at this point and live with the fact that he became an actual monster to preserve HER humanity, so she can save them both with the wish.

A Toxinelle who believes they already went too far to possibly go back and because of that she detaches herself from morality in the way it happened in "Recreation" with Emilie because in her (and Adrien's) mind they only have to win and everything will be okay again.

Adrien won't be a monster anymore and will return all together to the boy she once loved - and only still behaves like around Marinette or while thinking of his mother - and Paris, it's citizens, the entire world and THEMSELVES wont remember anymore what happened or that Toxinelle and Griffe Noire ever did any of this to them.

Give me TAHT Marinette/ Toxinelle please. For the love of GOD.

Because deep down, he’s still vulnerable and doesn’t want anyone turning your head or seeing that he’s not done fearless trigger happy guy, he’s just Niragi.

Being the only comfort to each other, the only person in possibly years that Niragi’s let, in or even loved.

🤍• However, because of what happened at the Beach, he’s now terrified all over again about you hating him because of the burns on his face, so when you assure him that you don’t care and that you’re only glad he’s still alive, he’ll get that urge to break down and cry again 🥺

There’s no way he’ll let it happen again, and it’s hard to convince him to let you do things in games without him doing it all for you with you behind him. 🤍• All in all, once Niragi’s in love, he’s in love, and he won’t let you go. He’s actually a really great, passionate lover, all violent cray-cray traits aside - they’re never directed at you anyway, never - and there won’t be a day that goes by where you can’t tell.

Here are my job ideas for mystreet in my brain except it's still HEAVILY based off of mcd like my street should have been.

Aphmau: Carpenter

Garroth: his job journey has been complicated (and hopefully the only one I'm gonna go this in detail on) because he spent his entire life not even having to consider what he was going to do because well... from birth he was set to take over Gartes position as soon as he decided to retire. Garte will just keep paying for his life until that point, and it's not until like... more than halfway through him working to get the necessary degrees for something he has no passion for and is learning that he kinda hates doing that he realizes he DOES NOT want to do that, the basically isolating hours and work that just frustrates him but he's in to deep.. he finishes his degrees but Garte ever the workaholic still has no plan to retire so garroth is just left coasting for a while but he's so social and everyone around him had full time jobs and he gets one literally to just have something to do cause he is going stir crazy, probably some kind of security detail for like big public events just waiting to be called away to take over his dad's company, of course he eventually learns that he's allowed to choose a job for himself but mostly through like... talking to his friends, and I can really see him experimenting for a while before he lands on *drum roll* firefighting! But he still hasn't told his dad he's not taking over the company, he's incredibly terrified of that conversation and is just hoping Garte will die before retiring zane would probably love to take it over anyway, so who Is garroth really hurting?

Laurence:controversial, mayhaps but I see him being a barista at like a genuine Italian mom and pop Cafe, he's probably the Rank just below owner to lmfaoo they want to give it to him when they retire lol.

Dante: probably a personal trainer lol.

Katelyn boxing instructor probably rivals with Nicole.

Nana: Probably runs and owns a bakery.

Zane: honestly probably unemployed. The only job he really wants is his dad's, he eventually becomes the vice president because his dad is still ceo but he gets REALLY moody about it for a while because his garroth is still the planned heir (he gets the job in the end when Garte probably forcefully is retired and garroth won't take up the mantle)

Vlayd: when he was backpacking around the world he probably was making vlogs and content about it, not really as a job but just because but he got popular so he made decent money. Now he's probably like a meditation teacher or smthn like that lol work he can do while going anywhere he wants.

Cadenza: Has her own fashion line that is wildly gaining popularity

Gene: Nightclub owner, he really only does well in position where he's in charge.

Zenix: Bar work / Security at the night club, he likes how there's constant stimulation, and how he gets a. Excuse to rough troublemakers up.

Sasha: Dj at the nightclub. She likes how she gets to control the mood in the club ans can see pretty much everything.

Travis: has a position in his fathers company. He hates it but like Garroth it's what he was raised to do and he was given a job in the company immeaditly instead of just waiting until he got to run it.

Zoey: was a very influential chemist, but was let go due to some corruption in the higher ups and her speaking against it. She works in childcare now mostly as a hobby.

Blaze: Same as Dante but he's wildly more popular

Aaron: would have been in a situation similar to Travis and Garroth, except he basically went off the grid as soon as he was old enough his parents couldn't stop him, he became a firewatcher (people in watch towers in national parks) that's how he met his wife, who sadly passes in childbirth (that's right single dad Aaron in this because I can and I said so. I said it was heavily based on not 100% accurate) he moved back into the city cause, well... the woods are no place to raise a baby. He probably does freelance remote computer work now

Daniel: I don't think he shows up in mcd so it's based on pdh lol, I have no reasoning for this but I love the idea of him as a daycare teacher. Apron and everything.

Jeffory: works in Gartes company. He's not that into it, but it pays well enough that he can basically work part time to spend more time with Abby and still have a fairly cushy life with her.

Dottie: probably one of Kayelyns employees lol.

Nicole: has her own Boxing business not in on the rivalry idea, thinks they should team up lmfao.

Lucinda: Owns a witchy shop lol, basic I know but come on. Crystals, tarot, incense, the whole nine yards. She's also a nepo baby lol, she does NOT have to run this shop her dad would pay for her whole life but Lucinda enjoys workings and being self sufficient.

Brendan: works for Aphmau as a Carpenter.

₊˚✦ he’s like, an adequate cook? Most likely good at breakfast in the morning and maybe some basic dishes, self sufficient so he doesn’t solely live off of takeout (but it’s like a quarter of his diet). I can’t say he can’t cook because it’s just not realistic. Boy’s gotta’ eat, y’know?

₊˚✦ Mike has trash coffee taste, takes it straight with maybe some cream or a sugar packet but refuses to try other things like blended drinks, will drink a cappuccino or an americano but hates being in a Starbucks

The snow had been falling for almost a week, the girls gathered together in the dorm after Simon gave them a few days off to enjoy the celebratory date, Christmas. Everyone was eager and excited to spend it together, they all bought gifts to give each one individually, Chisa and Jurin were currently in the kitchen preparing cookies to eat while they were all around the tree, while there were three excited children poking and pinching the sweets, aka Maya , Harvey and you.

Scaring Juria and Hinata when they ran into the living room after almost being attacked by a Chisa furious because you were stealing the freshly baked cookies, with the threat: “If you come back, I won't have any mercy!”. Of course, if you came back she would be ready with half a bag ready to throw at you.

It's a few minutes before midnight, they were all spread around the room, laughing at each other because of what they were wearing, Chisa and Harvey dressed as Christmas trees, Maya and Cocona as snowmen, Jurin and you as reindeer, finishing with Hinata like Santa Claus.

“Okay, should we start delivering presents?” Maya asked anxiously as she looked at her pile of gifts.

"I think so?" Hinata nodded hesitantly, waiting for a response from the leader, looking at Chisa.

“Oh, sure. Here we go!" Chisa agreed.

They all flew to the Christmas tree, picking up their gifts with their names on them and sitting down again, waiting for another answer to open them or at least try to guess who was responsible for the gift. Chisa held her gift in her lap, giving a signal to everyone to open their gifts, whistles of excitement and murmurs of excitement could be heard throughout the room.

“Why is mine so big~~?!” Cocona asked as she tried to open her gift, hearing the members giggle.

“It must be bigger than you!” Maya laughed at her friend as she opened the large green bow.

“Oh!” Cocona blurted out, taking the gift out of the bag and shaking it as she hugged the large stuffed Snorlax.

"So cute!" Harvey said as he hugged the giant plushie with Cocona.

“We can all hug, literally.” Hinata commented, looking at the plush in awe.

Meanwhile, you opened your gift, happy that your hidden friend loved the gift you chose especially for her. The members were startled by the scream you let out, holding up your gift excitedly, your nerd screaming inside you after getting a personalized Jinx.

"I don't believe!" She shouted as she held the biscuit sculpture, jumping up and down excitedly, the members laughing at her reaction.

“The nerd is excited.” Chisa teased the newest joining of the other members.

"How am I?" Jurin asked, drawing attention to the leader, seeing her with a hat with kitten ears and on each side a small knitting rope with stars hanging from it.

The girls applauded and laughed at the eldest as she praised her, who had a smug and proud smile on her lips. A bright flash reached the girls' eyes, regaining their vision to see Maya with a huge naughty smile as she held a polaroid camera, some laughing as they asked to take more decent photos.

Juria, Cocona and Harvey were excited as they played with their current plushies, including Snorlax, Juria's Hello Kitty and a unicorn giving it to Harvey, laughing like a child who had just received his wish from Santa.

Chisa drawing attention from all over Japan by turning on a microphone as a gift, as she loved singing, the members' current thoughts would be to buy earplugs, while on the other side of the room, Hinata dangled Ariana Grande's album in her hands at you and Maya, they spent a long moment enjoying the exchange of surprise gifts before giving that look.

They dispersed to get more cookies in the kitchen, Chisa and Jurin shrugging as they talked in the living room, until the youngest girl's call was heard and they walked to the kitchen entrance and were stopped by you and Maya excitedly as they said nonsense things until Tell the older ones to look at the ceiling. Looking only to see the little mistletoe being hung by a ribbon.

That wasn’t there earlier…” Jurin spoke calmly, Chisa agreeing with her.

“No, you just didn’t see it.” You snorted, adding to the lie. “Either way, it doesn’t matter at this point.”

“Really, just do tradition.” Maya encouraged, her eyes shining.

A wave of encouragement filled the kitchen, Chisa and Jurin's cheeks red, shy that their members were doing this.

“Okay, okay, okay.” Chisa agreed, silencing the audience, looking shyly at Jurin after a quick sigh. "So you…"

Chisa didn't have to complete to receive a sweet and soft kiss on the lips by Jurin, her wide eyes relaxing with the mutual feelings as it was just her and Jurin left, the surprised younger girls began to clap and celebrate, jumping up to hug their leaders. .

“Oh, I wasn’t expecting that!” You mentioned it to Maya, she agreed.

“What were you waiting for?” Juria innocently asked.

“A kiss on the cheek?” Maya replied, silence taking over the room after they managed to bring the new couple together, both with their cheeks burning with shyness.

“Oh, we're still under the mistletoe…” It was Hinata's turn to speak. “Can we have Christmas cheek kisses?” She asked the older ones, receiving a nod.

in 6x02, kreese returns with the eunjangdo (i reiterate; the SILVER KNIFE) with the head of the snake he has to kill in order to get it.

i thought this was a little dramatic at first, but i drew a parallel to some previous instances in the series where we introduce snake allegories into the story with kreese and silver. LO AND BEHOLD, we have the episode of 5x10 - head of the snake. where they finally take down terry. hell, chozen literally recalls time and time throughout season 5 - "in order to kill the snake, we have to cut the head off." in 5x10 - "four of us, one of them. tonight, we cut off head of snake."

there's a lot you could take from the giant snake allegories being put down here - at first i assumed that kreese kind of headlocking and breaking hallucination johnny's neck was being juxtaposed with the snake deheading, but i thought about it for a little longer (and maybe looked at the snake for an hour while pacing my desk like an overridden detective). the snake which SO HAPPENS to be silver/white.

it also just so happens that the first person he has to think of when he's hallucinating is terry - essentially, sweating the venom out, getting rid of the weakness. it's pretty cool that in the scenes in this show where kreese is supposed to be confronting his weakness, the only one he can never really eliminate from his head is terry. he's able to take johnny out, but terry isn't someone he can quite eliminate just yet.

not sure what i'm getting at here, but maybe we're setting up the plates for a kreese v. silver battle/reunion. maybe terry's just too much for him to think about at this moment. maybe i'm overthinking it! but between you and me, this and a lot of the season five headspace moments, as well as the allegories they built, might be able to build something cool between these two as we wrap up the story for terry and john.

Mitch has said he wants to stay in Toronto. The deal for him to waive his NMC at this point would have to be like...the best deal in all NHL history. He isn't some single, 19-year-old kid anymore who is just starting out; he's firmly established in his career in Toronto, and has his entire family/wife/friends there.

The ONLY black 'BWE'(?) creator I would recommend you is Chrissie. She passed the vibe check so many times.. Eons ago, I followed here on Tumblr a girl who made a magazine, and it featured onlt White models. The girl was indian, and she suffered from some pathologic hate for her face and I couldn't help but think that the reason she might feel this way is because she surrounded with the physical archetype of what the fashion industry deemed as beautiful : skinny, white, blonde, etc. This user remained in my head as to what NOT to do to level up my sense of self worth and love for my features. I basically have a (private) board on my Pinterest dedicated to beautiful black women. Those who look like me : 4c hair, wide round nose, darkskin... I browse it whenever I try to find inspiration for my art but also find model bases for my model benchmark for my upcoming shootings.

But in eventually like... Camila is empathetic and kind and like. Jasper is deeply fucking troubled. But I think... Surely she must see herself in him? He loves his son so fucking much but it's... Not enough. Just loving him is not enough. it's the same with luz-- she loves her so much, but Luz cannot be happy with her. She can't be. And it's not Camila's fault and there's probably nothing she could have done about it. Luz found a place she can be happy, and she has never been happy where she was. How much must that hurt? To know no matter how much she loves her, the best thing she can do for her is let her go.

And jasper has let Hunter go. Hunter is happier living with Camila. He loves him enough to be without him even though it's agony. She's literally done the same thing with Luz, and she ALSO hurt her. Not to nearly the extent as Jasper, but-- she tried to change her and I'm sure after Manny died her emotional connection with her became really strained and unhappy. And she knows she hurt Luz and that theres nothing she can do now. She can't fix it or change. And she clearly regrets that so much. Of course she has to sympathize with jasper and his regrets and pain and consequences.

I just... I know she must be in a lot of pain. Luz loves her but she still has to go. She just has to be okay with knowing that ultimately she did fail as a mother, because her goal was to raise a happy child and she didn't. Even if it wasn't her fault, even if she had tried her very best and couldn't do any better, it doesn't matter. That was her goal and she failed to reach it. That must be so painful. And so... Again. He was in such an impossible situation. What could he have done? What should he have done? What would would SHE have done? What must it be like to live with that?

He saved her sons life. Over and over again. He has also at this point has probably saved luz's life too, or at least, has protected her in a way where he might have. I think it's clear that... Jasper is a good person. But also... Something is so wrong with him. A lot is wrong with him. She's a vet. She's seen what a traumatized animal looks like. She's seen a frightened and confused dog who expects to be hit biting hands that try to help it. She has a lot of empathy for what's going on with him. And pity is not the kindest thing to feel for other people but... It's gotta be really hard not to pity him.

So yeah I think she like... Feels a sort of... Protectiveness over him. A little similar to how Gus feels extremely protective of hunter. He is technically her peer, but at the same time he is so much less developed. If you've ever had a friend you really cared about but also seen how fragile they might be and just feel... Like extremely protective of them... I think that's what she feels. He's sort of a friend but also like. Very concerned and protective of this person in her life who is really struggling and doesn't have much of a support structure in his life to help him. You know what?
