Kalafina Live Report @ Osaka - Christmas Premium Live 2017 (Part 1 of 2)
Welcome to my Live Report of the Kalafina Christmas Premium Live 2017 in Osaka! Please also read Part 2, where I thoroughly talk about the performances, once I’ve posted it!
On December 19th, I went all the way from my home in Kanagawa prefecture to Osaka to see Kalafina’s first Christmas Live, because those jerks called Kalafina fans made the ticket server crash before I could click the confirm button in order to buy some fucking Tokyo tickets. While the day started perfectly right away with my flight being delayed, I got this crazy-ass beautiful view of Mount Fuji as compensation :D

After an 1 ½ hour train ride from the airport to my hotel, I finally made it to Osaka Symphony Hall. It was already dark and the hall was illuminated in a very Christmas-like manner.

When admission started, people started to line up for the goods sale again and I bought the postcard set this time. In Zama, I refrained from buying it, because I am not really a fan of those photos, especially the group picture. While Hikaru and Wakana look gorgeous, I can’t help but laugh at Keiko because her face is so emotionless xD And with the unfortunate hairstyle it just looks so strange and I can’t believe that they went with that as the best shot. Luckily, it’s better on the single picture, Keiko’s dress is absolutely beautiful and Keiko is always the best, even if she is not. So I was like “whatever, yolo” and bought it. Here I also got a good view of the new exclusive goods. But first some impressions of the entrance hall.

The stola. It’s huge xD Color is navy and it has both the tour logo and “Kalafina” embroidered on it. Other than that, it’s quite simple and reminded me a lot of the blanket they sold at this year’s Commemoration Lives.

The cookies looked so goddamn delicious. I thought that the tour logo and that snowman would be just “printed” on plain butter cookies, like those cheap omiyage cookies you can buy almost everywhere in Japan, but the pictures were actually “printed” on a fat layer of icing. That way they looked very “high-quality” and pretty. The postcard had three pictures of the girls from the Acoustic tour, nothing too special. I still find it all too expensive just for two butter cookies, but even if I had bought them, I probably would have never eaten them, because they are so gorgeously cute XD

Lastly, the parka. You already saw some of it in one of Putschki’s recent posts. From those two pictures, none of them actually got the color of the parka 100% correctly. It’s more like a plain, normal, shitty (literal and metaphorical) brown. My photos also don’t quite represent it the way the color is, the second one being the closest to it… Also, the parka is actually very thin, definitely won’t keep you warm in winter! The best thing is the embroidery, in my opinion. It was very upscale, sturdy and felt very nice, too. I guess, that’s where the high price comes from, compared to past parkas, but I felt that this time it was more or less justified. But not the color. Definitely not that color xD But I admit, it goes quite well with the red Harmony shirt.

When I took my seat on the second floor at the very last row, I was very surprised that the stage wasn’t that far away. The hall was very beautiful, broad, more of a round shape and had a nice, tranquil atmosphere. The stage was decorated in a festive manner, Christmas tree-shaped figures with Christmas ornaments and (I guess) fir branches. On top of that, some Christmas songs like “Jingle Bells” and “Gloria in excelsis Deo” were played and I had a flashback of my high school years, where the whole school was forced to gather at the big staircase to sing those songs every week in December.  On the stage were also the three diamonds from the Acoustic tour, this time in a slightly different position. 5 Minutes before the concert would start, suddenly some organ music was played (the big one behind the stage) just like one of the girls mentioned in their recent blog posts. I had a small heart attack because of that, as it came so suddenly and loud lol The seats, except some at the third floor on the side, were full.

I couldn’t help but feel sad at this point. This would probably be my last Kalafina acoustic concert, let alone Christmas special, and now it’s only the 10th anniversary Live left before I return to Germany for good. So I tried to absorb and enjoy as much as I could of this concert and I will try to describe everything I saw, heard and thought the best way I can for you guys. This is my final Kalafina Live report and I hope you will enjoy it. To be contunied in Part 2 :)
