1. Lonely Dancers - Conan grey. So many albums I’ve been looking forward to actually were minor disappointments this spring, and then this album that wasnt on my radar at ALL dropped and knocked my head clean off. I love this whole album but this track is my fave.

2. Good luck babe - Chappell roan. I mean like I feel like a solid 75-80% of sapphics are in the same boat here right now it ain’t special

3. Sinner - the last dinner party. Giving me queer gothic maximalist pop the way I have been CRAVING it, they’re such a great band and it’s such a great album. Nothing Matters is also a contender for this list. But I wish I knew you before it felt like a sin? Banner line. Fucks incredibly.

4. How the Damage Gets Done - Hozier and Brandi Carlisle. The way I can’t get this song to leave me alone, Jesus. I just keep adding it to playlist after playlist with a resigned sigh.

5. II Most Wanted - Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus. The first love sapphic harmonies got to me okay. Tho some days I am straight up not strong enough to listen to it so grain of salt I guess.

Zanda Elwood’s album Amongst Da Khaos is a personal reflection on life’s challenges and growth. Rooted in hip-hop, rap, and RnB, it touches on themes like street life, mental health, relationships, and resilience. Zanda uses raw, authentic poetry to explore his experiences, especially focusing on the turbulence and chaos that have shaped him.

The album features 22 songs. This is particularly impressive because it takes a substantial amount of work and effort to make it happen. Long-format releases are really difficult to complete in this day and age, especially as artists are constantly pressured to release singles instead of LPs. There is nothing wrong with releasing singles, but the risk is that fans will miss out on the immersive nature of a full-length listening experience such as a complete album. Zanda decided to really go against the grain with this one, releasing what could be essentially described as a double album. One of the benefits of being able to put out so much music is the ability to showcase different sides of one's artistry and vision. This is most definitely the case of Amongst Da Khaos.

The album emerges from Melbourne’s music scene and represents Zanda’s evolution as an artist, as well has his ambitious take on hip-hop. Starting as a bedroom artist, Zanda grew into the city's vibrant soundscape, where he continues to channel his life struggles into music. The project reflects on how he has overcome various personal battles, making it an immersive listening experience that blends storytelling with emotional depth. So this ask is AAAAAAAAAAANCIENT. BUT, with some help and inspiration from @the-sloth-woman, I finally took the time to write out an answer. This is basically just jumping ahead in Megumi’s Journey a ways, so it’s about a chapter in length and there are plenty of warnings that come with it. So...

Teethclattered as I was slammed into the wall. I struggled in his grip, but it wasuseless. It was a new moon which meant I was at my weakest, and he knew it.Glaring up into his green eyes, all he did was laugh at me.

“Isn’tthis getting a little old, Laito? There are plenty of other girls to pick on.Especially ones without a big hulking bear of a keeper.”

“Butthey’re all so boring. They don’t have a blush that extends to their hair,fufu~”

Igrimaced. My hair was sometimes more of a curse than my actual affliction. Istruggled again but he merely moved his hand to my throat instead to keep me inplace. My movements slowed, trying to control my breathing.

“Youknow if you bite me, Yuma’s just gonna kick your ass, right?”

Hesmirked. “Mmm, then I should make this encounter worth it then, shouldn’t I?”

Hepressed his body closer to my already pinned one. Panic started to set in as Ifelt his knee push between my legs. It felt all to familiar to our first encounter.Especially when I felt his hand reaching under my skirt.

“N-No,no Laito! If you do this, he’ll kill us both!” I couldn’t help the shakiness inmy voice. Desperation overtook me as I tried to shove his hand away. A thought occurredto me, and most would call it playing dirty, but I had no other choice. Ikicked my leg up as hard as I could, aiming for his delicates. The kick endedup missing by a fraction, hitting his inner thigh. But as his grip loosened itwas good enough. Taking the chance to bolt away, I ran as fast as I could downthe hall.

Duckinginto the nearest empty classroom, I closed the door as quietly as I could andbunkered down in the far corner. My lungs were burning but I tried to keep mybreathing as quiet as possible. I wasn’t sure what would happen now. Eitherway, Yuma was going to smell him on me, and then I’d have two pissed off vampires after me. Footsteps echoed outside the doorand I clamped a hand over my mouth, willing myself to become as small andinsignificant as possible.

“OhBitch-chaaaan~” I held my breath. He was right outside the door. It felt likemy heart was gonna burst out of my chest, and I had no doubt he could hear ithammering away. I watched in terror as the door slowly opened. His eyesimmediately locked onto mine. I was done for. He leisurely made his way towardsme, both of us knowing I was nothing but trapped prey.

“Imight have let you off easy, but you’re proving to be rather difficult.” Hestood in front of me now, eye’s boring down into mine. As a last-ditch effort,I scrambled away, but made it nowhere before he stepped down on my ankle. Ayelp of pain escaped as I was forced flat on the ground. “Look at that! Youreally don’t know when to give up, do you?”

Iturned to glare up at him. “Because I know what will happen if I don’t,” Ispat.

Hesighed, a blush starting to forming on his cheeks. “That fire in you, nfu~ It’swhat makes you so fun to play with, Bitch-chan.” He dropped to his knees on topof me, pinning me down by my shoulders. “But that fear in your eyes; it’s a good look for you.”

Ididn’t stop struggling, but I could feel my hair gradually becoming paler asthe fear and feeling of powerlessness set in. Kicking was no use this timeeither since his legs held mine to the floor. He only seemed amused by mysquirming.

“Soweak in your human state, aren’t you?” He leaned closer to my face and I froze.“Tell me, how far have you gone with Yuma-kun, hmm?”

Angersparked in me. “It’s none of your business!” But I still couldn’t help the hotblush that rose to my face.

Laitolaughed. “So you are still a virgin!”

“Ididn’t say that!”

“Oh?But that look says it all! And besides,” he leaned into my neck and inhaled,“you still smell as pure as the first time I tasted you~”

Ifelt his tongue run up my throat and my eyes squeezed shut as I shuddered indisgust. Panicked thoughts ran through my mind. Even if nothing else happened,I was in for a punishment from Yuma. And it had been so long since my last one.Things had been going so well before… Well this. But with the way things weregoing, Laito wasn’t going to stop unless someone else intervened or he becamebored of me.

Atearing sound snapped me from my thoughts. Laito had torn away at my uniform,scattering ribbons and ripping open my vest and button up shirt. My eyeswidened as my bra became exposed to him.

“Black?Were you secretly hoping this would happen? I knew you had a naughty side,nfu~”

Bilerose in my throat and I wanted to vomit. “Stop it! Only Yuma can—”

Hislaughter cut me off. “Only Yuma-kun? If that was true, he would have alreadyruined this slutty little body of yours. Fufu~ He’s probably as big a virgin asyou are if he hasn’t taken you by now.”

“That’snot—” I fell silent. I wanted to scream that it wasn’t true, but it wasn’t likeI had any proof to go off of. He’d definitely touched me and we’d fooled aroundto a degree. But never… That. It made me wonder why he hadn’t yet. Did he not…Want me?

“Mmm,your eyes tell me you’ve wanted it for a while now, haven’t you?” His bodyshifted so that he now knelt between my legs. Hedipped down to my exposed skin, licking his lips before biting near my collarbone. The pain was intense, and a choked scream ripped from my throat. He drankdeeply, moaning gratuitously. I could feel my hair turn stark white from thecombination of pain and fear. My back arched and my hands weakly tried to pushhim away.

Blooddripped down his chin as he finally pulled away. He let out a moan, blush evenmore prominent on his face now. “Definitely still a virgin, nfufu~” The hand ofhis that wasn’t holding me down slowly traced its way down my body, stopping torest at the hem of my skirt. “Maybe we should change that and see if you tasteany different~” He pressed his body closer suggestively, grinding himselfagainst me. He leaned back as the hand on my skirt began to lift my leg.

Somethinghot ran down my face and it took me a moment to realize they were tears. Ifelt… ashamed. I’d wanted to save this for one person, and it wasn’t Laito. ButI could do nothing but writhe underneath him as he did whatever he wanted withme. He sought me out during my weakest time, most likely on purpose. And nowhe’d reap the benefits.

Asharp pain near my knee snapped me out of it. Laito had taken another bite and wasdrinking deeply, his eyes watching me. I winced. So close to the bone, it feltworse than the first one. But it was a different feeling that startled me more;the feeling of his hand sliding up my thigh. Instinctively, my legs shuttogether. Laito bit down harder and I yelped.

“You’vealready given me enough trouble today.”

Hisvoice was deeper. A shiver ran up my spine, but more in terror than like areaction he’d be hoping for. His hand traveled further up my leg and I had tofight the urge to close my thighs tighter together. I could only stare the ceilingof the classroom, silently willing it to be over. I didn’t want this to happen,but I didn’t want Laito to kill me either. He raised my skirt higher, cool airhitting my thighs. I couldn’t help but tremble as more tears fell down my face.

“Matchingpanties, too? You really were expecting something today, nfu~”

Fingersbegan to press and rub over the cloth. The feeling was foreign and wrong to me.I closed my eyes against the feeling but his other hand grabbing my face made themsnap open again. His face hovered above mine, his eyes glinting.

“Ne,Bitch-chan, you should really look at me while I’m giving you such pleasure~”

Myface felt hot, but not because of “pleasure”. I choked back a sob as hisministrations became rougher, fingers pushing harder. I winced. My breathingbecame strained as he was practically panting. It made me sick to my stomach. Isquirmed underneath him, my body involuntarily trying to get away.

Hesuddenly stopped. We both froze, though tears still kept falling down my face.Footsteps outside were growing louder, stopping at the door. Laito pulled awayand I winced as his hand did too.

“Anothertime, Bitch-chan.” He whispered. Then he licked his fingers and was gone.

Thedoor began to open. I couldn’t help but shut my eyes and curl into a ball on thefloor. I didn’t want whoever it was to see me like this.

“Oi,Mesabuta! What’re you hidin’ in here for?”

Myeyes snapped open.

No, no, no, no, no…

Yumamade his way towards the back of the room. “Been lookin’ for ya everywhere, whywere you—” he stopped short when he saw me trying to wipe away my tears with mysleeve. Then he looked down to my exposed shoulder and ripped clothes. Furyflashed in his eyes. “Who touched you?”

Ilooked to the floor and said nothing. I couldn’t even find my voice in thatmoment.

Hegrabbed my shoulders, looking me over. His eyes instantly flew to the bites.Leaning in he smelled near my collarbone and growled. “That hentai Sakamakibastard… I’ll kill him.” He turned to make his way out of the room.

“Yumadon’t!” I called out. Surprise struck both of us.

Helooked back at me. “Are you defending him? He touched what’s mine!”

“N-No!I just—”

Iwas pinned to the floor again, but this time by Yuma. “Just what, Megumi?!” Henever used my name… I trembled. I didn’t know what to say; I couldn’t stop himeven if I tried. He looked down to my collarbone again, gritting his teeth. “Hisstench is pissing me off.” And then he was biting down into the already formedholes.

Iscreamed, hair turning blood red. His fangs angrily dug into my already woundedflesh, remarking me as his. My hands fisted into the front of his shirt. Thepain was the most intense thing I had ever felt, and I couldn’t stop the tearsthat pricked my eyes. He gripped my shoulders tightly, fingers digging into me.

Afterwhat felt like eternity, he finally pulled away. Blood dripped from his chinand smeared across his lips. “Where else?” I stared up at him, pain still cloudingmy thoughts. “Where else did the fucker bite you?!” he boomed, shaking me.

“M-Myknee,” I choked out.

Hedropped me to the floor again, grabbing my leg. That’s when he noticed theripped underwear. He stared in silence, red staining his cheeks. My own earswere roaring as I anxiously waited to see what he would do. His lips moved, butit was so quiet I couldn’t hear. When I didn’t respond he roared at me.

“DIDYOU LET HIM FUCK YOU, TOO?!”

“No!”I sobbed, “I didn’t let him doanything! He was too strong, Yuma!” I almost didn’t recognize him. I’d seen himangry before but never like this. I didn’t know if I’d make it out of this roomalive.

Hesuddenly bit down near my knee and I screamed again. He was even rougher thistime, biting more to make it hurt than to mark or drink from me. It was worsethan his first bite and I wanted to pass out from the pain. When he pulled awaythe look in his eyes scared me more than anything else that had happened thatday.

“You’remine. And you’re never gonna forget it, Mesabuta.” He leaned into my neck,making a final bite of his own. I cried out as he sucked and gulped. I couldfeel myself growing weaker with each swallow. It was more than he had evertaken from me before.

Iwas going to die.

I feebly tried to push his head away, buthe merely pinned my wrists above my head. My heart, which not too long ago feltlike it would beat out of my chest, was slowing. Everything was fading to black,including the lock of cursed hair.

“Your time is not done, my child. You mustkeep fighting to live or it will all be for nothing.”

“He wants me dead. I can’t bring myself tosee him anymore. I don’t want to go back.”

“You must.”

“Why?!”I screamed. No answer. I was left to the darkness once again.

Sunlightfiltered through the window of the classroom. Waking up was painful. The eventsof last night came flooding back, but I didn’t want to think about them. My bodyhurt but my mind felt numb. Hair fell into my face and I noticed it was a bleakgray. I looked out the window. It was still light outside, but the sun wasbeginning to set. School would start again soon, and I didn’t want to be herewhen it did.

Istruggled to stand, using the desks as support. I brought a hand to my neck.The wound there was still tender, only just starting to heal. I could feeldried blood on my skin. My body was still too human, and it would take a whilebefore it all went away. I sighed, making my way out the door and into hallway.

Ihad to make a plan. I couldn’t stay with the Mukamis right now. And theSakamakis were beyond out of the question. Unfortunately, there was only onerealistic place to stay.

Why do you think that Sloth is so aggressive toward Kuro? Both him and Gear hinted at the fact that he's always been violent with Kuro. For him representing the sin of sloth, he acts more into the sin of wrath. Even when Kuro goes into his inner world to take the power back, Sloth tells him that he's able to hit him /again/ ("hit" in furigana/see the notes Kitty posted for that translation). The other inners aren't like this with their hosts, so why do you think Inner Sloth is with Kuro?

Because his host is destroying himself. Because his host is working against him instead of working with him. Because his host is drowning in self hate instead of accepting them.

And now that y'all know about my alters I can go a little bit deeper into the whys and the hows related to this.

But putting it under a cut because there will be mentions of s**f  ha** and triggers related to it.

A host and an alter are and feel like two (or more) people sharing one body. When one takes over the body (in our case Inner Kuro) they take over everything that body has. The feelings, the thoughts, the scars and the wounds. The needs, the pain and every. little. thing. they have.

This means that both of them are affected by the state of the body.

And Kuro was neglecting himself to the point that their body was giving up. Remember how Mahiru found him?

Who knows for how long he stayed in such a weak state before Mahiru found him... And by weak I'm meaning both physically and mentally.

Because as fragile as servamps seem to be, they are not weak. If Kuro killed Sensei 200 years ago, then chances are that he spent all those 200 years without the blood he told Mahiru he needs. And he also spent 200 years in pure agony born from his regrets and the conditions he was forced to tolerate as a stranger and as a stray cat.

They were 200 years in which he forced Inner Kuro to suffer too.

Now, how can we expect Inner Kuro to act calm, to act slothy, when Kuro forces him to live like that too? Of course he'd get angry. Or wouldn’t he?

A few years ago, when I struggled with self hate and self disgust, I engaged into severe self harm and self destructive activities - and hell if my alters (I only had Thunder and Storm at that time) didn't make me live through an even bigger nightmare than I was already living in. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

They were angry, they were furious, insulted me, hit me, took control over me without asking, even refusing to let go sometimes - everything just to make me stop hurting them too, as Storm put it. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

It's. The exact. Same thing. With Kuro. And Inner Kuro.

Kuro doesn’t listen. Kuro doesn’t want to hear, to see, to understand. So Inner Kuro has to force all these on him, and we have seen the effects it has on Kuro. And there's more. Wanna know what else happens to those alters when you lose control over yourself and that inner pain? They take over your body. Literally.

And it's because they're scared. They're as scared as you are in those moments. It's because they want to protect both of you.

Inner Kuro punishes him, yes. But Inner Kuro also forces him away from the self destruction. It's a twisted way, but it's the only thing alters can do when their hosts ignore them. It's the only thing they can use. It's practically like when you slap your friend for being an idiot.

Inner Kuro is protecting Kuro even if that sometimes means that he has to knock him down and take control over the body. It's just to protect them both from farther abuse and farther danger.

Now you might think: "bUT ThunDEr! WheN Inner Kuro tooK oVer Kuro, hE tRied to kiLL everYOne."

I know. It's because he was scared and angry. For now I say this.

Now, the way he teases him? The way he mocks him anytime someone seems to push him away from the darkness he's in?

Because it's what he too wants from Kuro. It's what he too needs from Kuro.

See the way he talks to him?

He's asking Kuro to tell him that he needs him. He's making him ask for his collaboration, for his help, for his guidance. Why?

This is why. Because alters also want to be useful and needed. Just like we do.

In the second one, he wants Kuro's attention. His affection.

Because alters also need affection and their freedom as much as you do.

Since they're personalities, persons, identities or whatever you wanna call them, they will need you to not ignore them, they will need you to collaborate, they will need you to be their friend not their enemy, they will need you to let them feel useful, to let them feel alive and free too.

When I used to ignore Thunder and the others, they did everything to get my attention, to make me accept them, and to win me over. And you know how?

They made me do messed up things "for fun" because that "fun" for them was the only time I didn't ignore them. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Sounds like Kuro and Inner Kuro, doesn't it?

They also made me lose friends. They criticized me. Teased me. Abused me. Isolated me when my fears would kick in instead of helping me the way they do now. Again, sounds familiar, doesn't it?

And why? Because I used to deny them. I used to ignore them, to push them away, to act as if they're not real. And what does Kuro do to Inner Kuro? And what does Inner Kuro do to Kuro in return?

It's. the exact. same. thing.

Inner Kuro is being aggressive with Kuro because Kuro doesn't accept him.

He's being aggressive with Kuro because Kuro doesn't understand that they're a team. He doesn't understand that they're one and that they need each other.

I also talked about people not understanding the concept of the seven sins here.

We have the same story here, about Inner Kuro "acting like wrath", as you put it.

With all this, is Kuro giving Inner Kuro a reason to be slothy? Can he act slothy when he has to watch, and to feel, Kuro destroying them both?

What do you do when you see someone not eating, not fighting, someone who hurts and neglects themselves? Don't you take action? Don't you get scared and angry to watch them slowly fade away before your eyes because of their acts? Don't you make them eat, don't you pull the poison or the blade out their hands, don't you try to talk to them?

And what about when they ignore you? What about them ignoring your terrified screams and yells? Can your actions still remain on the slothy side? Can you still tell them "let's go and watch TV"? Can you still tell them "go and take a nap"?

This is how alters are too. This how Inner Kuro is with Kuro.  Kuro doesn't listen to him, so Inner Kuro has to use other methods to save their body. He has to use other methods to push Kuro into that self care and self protection that we learned as laziness.

Because it doesn't matter if that body is immortal, it can still suffer. And it makes Inner Kuro suffer too.

And now add to that suffering the pain of being pushed away and abandoned with one single insignificant part of you blocked within that self destructive body, unable to fight again with more than just some stupid words. Add that pain to the fact that all you wanted was to have a connection and be useful and all you got in return was the anguish of watching your host replace you with mental illness and other people.

Can he still act slothy?

So for Sayaka my favorite thing about her is definitely how confident she is! Least favorite thing is probably how easily she gets pissed off lol-

Favorite thing about Ayame is her love for her puppies, her clan, and Hayato. Also how great of a leader she is after everything she went through. Least favorite thing so far I'm not sure I really like her!!

I haven't really used Hayato much or even worked on his backstory rip lol but favorite thing about him is his love for Ayame, and animals as well as his clan. He's also a very good listener and easy to talk to. Least favorite thing again idk lol

Sayaka's favorite thing about herself...Oh that's a tough one cuz she really doesn't like much about herself lol. I guess she does like her hair, how she is very polite and proper, and her eyes cuz she looks so much like her mother. She does hate how she does easily get upset and then starts to swear cuz it doesn't make her sound very good.

Ayame's favorite thing about herself is definitely her love for all animals and how she is a very sweet and caring person despite everything that's happened to her. Least favorite thing she likes about herself is the fact that she holds grudges *coughs* Karlheinz *coughs* and can't seem to move past it.

Hayato's favorite thing about himself is his sense of loyalty and how he is Ayame's ray of sunshine in such a cruel world. Least favorite thing he likes about himself is how he can get into a murderous rage if any male touches or hits on Ayame in front of him. His yandere side comes into play a lot. Ayame does adore and love when he gets jealous cuz he does get very handsy and pouty and she finds it so cute but he gets very shy as well.
