There was a murmur among the lecture hall, you noted, as you sat down in your usual seat, just to the right of your friend Jennie. 

It wasn’t that your contemporary art lecture was usually quiet before your professor arrived, but there was something collective about their words as if everyone was talking about the same thing.

"What’s is everyone talking about?” You pondered to Jennie, eyeing the lovely black and white blouse she had on today. Jennie, unlike you who studied studio art, was a fashion major. There was hardly a day where she didn’t look put together, a hard contrast from you and your usually paint stained clothes.

Back when you first moved to Paris, Jennie had been the first person you had found a friend in. The two of you shared an English class and from then on had managed to have at least one class together per semester.

It had been two years since that first class with her and you were still grateful that circumstance had brought the two of you together. After landing a once in a lifetime scholarship to École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, you feared that you would struggle all alone in the new country but Jennie was in the same boat you were, having moved to Paris all by herself as well.

“Kim Taehyung is a guest speaker today, remember?” She enthused, flashing you an excited smile.

New AU idea.

Kpp'Ar ends up taking in Claudia and Soren, raising them as his own. This is due to Lissa having a bad feeling about Viren once he starts to spend all of his free time trying to find a way to cure Soren. So Lissa takes Claudia and Soren to The Puzzle House while Viren is asleep.

Kpp'Ar allows it, he enjoys the company the two give him. Soren was a giant bundle of energy that always made Kpp'Ar figure out new ways to entertain him. Claudia was a giant bundle of curiosity that always made Kpp'Ar figure out new ways to keep her engaged.

It was a new routine that Kpp'Ar welcomed with open arms. So when Soren and Claudia grew up, he always encouraged them to do what would make them happy. Claudia became a prodigy in alchemy(since Kpp'Ar stopped doing Dark Magic like he planned to in the show) due to never seeing Kpp'Ar do it. Soren became the youngest Crownguard in history(like in canon) but he's not as mean towards Callum, it's more like teasing Callum about his crush on Claudia and how he's horrible at winning. Meanwhile Viren found a Dark Magic apprentice within an orphan he found.

Canon goes a little differently but still somewhat the same. This time Soren and Claudia both join the Draggang. Terry and Claudia meet a little earlier and get together around the same time they did in canon. Soren and Corvus still meet but slightly different and still end up as friends who are lowkey pining after each other.

Chapter 3 is where I really started getting into support convos! And ditching Kellam, lol (his gimmick annoys me and I’m not fond of armor units) (also Sully and Miriel’s C support is so neurodivergent. We stan 2 queens)

Your eyes burn in protest as you scroll to the top of your terminal window once more to search for the error that is fucking your code up. It’s been hours of work and you still haven’t managed to get your program to run even though the homework assignment is easy in theory. In fact it’s just like a problem that Jungkook said the professors would probably give you in your sophomore year, and here you are in your junior year seeing such an ‘easy’ question. With him, it had truly been easy, though. Jungkook was a better computer science teacher than any professor you’d ever encountered. Thinking back to early high school days has you smiling softly to yourself. 

You miss sitting closely together, heads sometimes touching, as you both bent over a problem while he explained why it looked hard, but was actually something you could do in your sleep. The wide smile he would give you when you completed competition questions in minimal time would always set your heart fluttering.

Your phone vibrating brings you back to reality. The caller ID reads ~JK~ and you swoop in to answer the call. If the time in the corner of your computer is right (and it is) he should have already opened his decision letter from the PhD department.

“Hey, what’s the verdict,” you ask as soon as you accept the call. You know there’s no other reason why he’d call you when you were supposed to meet up in a few hours for weekly game night.

“I got in,” his voice is soft, but you know him well enough to be able to hear the joy mixed in.
