That feeling when he can't stand to see you that way, no matter what you do, no matter what you say😩😭💔
#scott pilgrims precious little life#scott pilgrim vs the world#spvtw#spto#scott pilgrim#wallace wells#lisa miller#scollace#kim pine#natalie adams#envy adams#don't rlly know if I like how this turned out but oh well;;;#hope its obvious that this is based on the song “Scott Pilgrim” which the creation the comics were inspired from#the lyrics always make me think of Wallace and Lisa's feelings for Scott every time I hear it#ofc you could also relate it to Kim especially since the singers voice kind of reminds me of her#but overall the lyrics fit these two much better since Scott never truly “saw them that way” despite how long they've liked him#and they always seem happier to see him compared to Kim#Im surprised tho that I havent yet seen anyone draw these two together now that their dialogue parallels have been acknowledged more lately#also tho I wish more people pointed out that they both got cucked by red heads LOL#and Kim and Envy actually do look really similar when scott first meets them#makes me wonder if Scott subconsciously went for Envy since she reminded him of Kim (which would be fitting given that you could argue that#Envy dated Scott because he reminded her of Todd. Since he and Scott are confirmed to be meant to be seen as similar to one another#so much so that even their first and last names rhyme#last thing I'll add tho is that while Wallace and Lisa are very similar even personality wise#the one big difference is that despite that whole conclusion on vol4 of Scott not cheating on Ramona with Lisa because he loves her#the writers apparently think it would be “organically correct” for him to have an affair with wallace LMAO#but I guess we shouldn't be surprised since Wallace and Ramona are both in the front of the official valentines art which is clearly#a deptiction of Scotts wet dream or smth (oh and you could also argue that Wallace and Lisa parallel on that art since they're both#shirtless with white socks.. which could be a reference to how lisa wears skimpy clothes for Scott and Wallace often only wears boxers#to like sexually frustrate Scott for fun or smth

crying screaming weeping gnashing of teeth etc etc at the idea of john as a vessel. the holy man brings about the antichrist. gary gets sososososososo obsessed with the thought of it because he thinks it would be poetic, that the priest who ruined their chances with amy would take her place. like you fight gary in a room LITERALLY pre-prepped for the second death you just know this man was kicking his feet and giggling about this. john gets an extra hit during the fight because gary needs him alive. how do you open a portal to hell? sometimes, it comes walking right up to you.
john’s choice to doom amy culminates in him sharing her fate. he’s damning the world. it’s his atonement. god

An I Know Who You Are drabble
Thank you anon for this request!
Pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
Summary: Joel finds out about your history with Ben for the first time.
Warnings: language, smut (18+ MDNI), unprotected piv sex, possessive!joel (might be a bit over the line but i got carried away, sue me), jealous!joel, edging, rough sex but turns soft (bc of course)
WC: 2.1K
A/N: this is a request I had for a series I wrote but I think it could be read on its own.
"Where's my fuckin' glasses?" Joel roared from upstairs.
"Wherever you left them last!" you shouted back from the kitchen. You were tired and just wanted to go to bed but Joel was really starting to piss you off, so you made an excuse to come down to the kitchen to cool off.
It wasn't working.
"I left 'em on my goddamn book where I always leave 'em. You were movin' shit around up here today, you must've done somethin' with 'em," you heard him snap from the depths of your shared bedroom. You rolled your eyes and dug your fingers into the back of a chair to try to ground yourself. You knew his anger was misplaced. It wasn't really about the glasses.
Tonight at dinner you made one little innocuous comment about an old flame, Ben, another resident of Jackson, completely forgetting you hadn't found the chance to tell Joel about him yet, and it was all downhill from there.
Your relationship with Joel was still new. Well, not really.
It was and it wasn't.
This part of your relationship was new. Living together, sharing your lives together, loving each other... all of that was new. The sex was not new.
So maybe it was a little bit your fault for not telling Joel about Ben sooner. But it was the middle of the goddamn apocalypse and things like that didn't really cross your mind anymore. Besides, what you had with Ben didn't mean a thing. It was for comfort and stress relief on both sides, no feelings were involved whatsoever. And if that wasn't enough, Ben was also currently in a loving, committed relationship with your mutual friend, Lisa.
Joel didn't seem to care about any of that. He was still worked up, stomping around upstairs, slamming drawers shut and muttering under his breath.
It was really fucking annoying.
His heavy footsteps thundering down the stairs was the next thing you heard and you braced yourself for more of his attitude. Storming into the kitchen, he pushed things around on the counters as if his glasses could be hidden behind the flour while you stood at the table glaring at him. When he inevitably was unsuccessful, he spun around angrily with his hands on his hips.
"You gonna help me look or you just gonna stand there?"
With your nostrils flared and your jaw clenched, you marched across the kitchen, coming to a halt directly in front of him. Without breaking eye contact, you lifted an arm above his head and plucked his glasses from his hair, then blindly dropped them on the counter.
"Well?"
His eyes shifted to the glasses and back to you as he tried to hide his embarrassment.
"I'm goin' to bed," he muttered, leaving the glasses and heading for the stairs.
You scoffed in disbelief. "What? I don't get a thank you?"
He whipped around and stalked back over to you, his reaction so fast it startled you and had you backing up against the kitchen wall.
"What else should I thank you for? Hm?" he asked lowly, bracketing both arms on the wall on either side of your head. He stared down at you, anger rolling off him in waves, eyes dark and fuming. "Should I thank you for makin' me feel like a fuckin' idiot tonight? For not tellin' me somethin' you know I shoulda known 'bout months ago?"
"I already apologized, Joel! What more do you want from me? You didn't tell me about Angie until-"
"That was different an' you know it!" he yelled, smacking the wall beside you with the flat of his hand. "We weren't together then! You weren't livin' with me, sleepin' in my bed-"
"Goddamnit, Joel! It didn't mean anything!" You were mere inches apart, your hot, angry breath fanned over his face with every word. "I-I never even think about him like that! He was the only fucking guy I knew and I just wanted to get my mind off of the end of the fucking world every now and then!"
"I don't want you seein' him," he said, his tone threatening. "Ever. You pass him in the street, you just keep walkin'. He's on fuckin' fire, it ain't your problem."
"Who the hell do you think you are?" you seethed, but the arousal was already pooling warm between your legs. "You think you can tell me what to do?"
"Yeah, I do," he said through clenched teeth, then grabbed your jaw with one of his big hands. "'Cause you're mine."
You whimpered when his mouth crashed down on yours, teeth and tongues colliding messily as he pulled you off the wall. Your fingers twisted in his flannel, tugging and pushing him this way and that, acting as if you had any fight in you whatsoever.
"Shit," you gasped when his mouth traveled down to your neck and his hand cupped your aching core through your jeans. He applied some pressure with the tip of his fingers, locating your clit with practiced ease, and you tipped your head back with a moan. Your fingers that were once wrestling with the fabric of his shirt were now lost in his hair, holding the back of his head in place so he had no choice but to suck and bite marks across your collarbone.
His fingers were moving fast over the seam of your jeans, rubbing and pinching your sex through the thick denim, dragging you to the precipice just to deny you your orgasm at the last moment by pulling his hand away.
You whined and tugged his hair as hard as you could, trying to make it hurt, but he just chuckled and straightened back up. "Turn around."
Obediently, you swiveled around and braced your hands on the counter, your breath coming in sharp, excited pants as he unbuttoned your jeans and slid them down to your knees, your underwear quickly following.
He dipped one thick finger into your folds from behind and your back instantly arched. You felt his belt digging into the flesh of your ass when he ground his hips against you and brought his mouth to your ear. "You're so fuckin' wet, baby. You like workin' me up like this?"
You bit your lip and closed your eyes when he slid his finger inside your leaking cunt. "Maybe," you whispered, then moaned when he curled his finger inside you, purposely teasing you by not giving you enough. Just as quickly as he gave you his finger, he took it away, leaving you feeling hopelessly empty again.
"I think you do. And I think you need me to remind you why you're in my bed every night 'n not his."
Your thing with Ben ended before you even arrived in Jackson, before you even knew who Joel was, so to imply he was even remotely some type of competition was ridiculous. But when you heard the jingle of his belt and the metallic zip of his jeans being undone, you decided it to point that out another time.
"Fuck!" you cried out when he entered you with one quick thrust. Your arm shot backwards, hand searching for some part of him to hold on to. His hand found yours and laced your fingers together before looping both your arms around your front, holding you close. He was breathing heavily in your ear, giving you a few moments to gather yourself and allow your walls to relax around his girth.
"Fuck," you said again, but this time it was breathier and more at ease. The initial sting was fading with every shaky breath and even though he was driven by jealousy and irrational anger, he didn't want to hurt you. He never wanted to hurt you. At the end of the day, he knew how you felt about him and that was all that mattered, so he gave you as much time as you needed before experimentally rolling his hips. You moaned his name and pushed your ass against him, urging him to continue.
With one of his hands still bonded with yours across your ribs and the other spread wide and flat over the cool counter next to your hip, he bent forward and slammed into you a little rougher, a little harder, until the mixed sounds of your skin slapping together and the lewd wetness from your pussy filled the air.
"He ever fuck you like this? Make you feel as good as I do? Huh?" he groaned into your neck. Your body jolted forward against the edge of the counter with every forceful thrust, knocking the wind out of you but you managed to shake your head and offer a weak no.
You wished you could spread your legs wider but you were restricted by the material bunched around your knees, so instead you arched your back and pushed your ass back against his hips. Again and again, you rocked your hips onto his cock, matching his rhythm as sweat began to collect on the back of your neck and the muscles in your stomach tightened. Joel flattened his tongue against your skin, drinking down your sweat with a deep moan.
"Taste so good, sweetheart. Feel s'good too... fuck - yeah, yeah - keep doin' that."
You whined and tilted your head to the side, searching for his mouth. When you found it, you hungrily slanted your lips together, tongue invading, licking past his teeth while your free hand reached back to splay wide across the side of his face.
You gasped when the tip of his cock brushed against something inside you that made your vision wobble. Your nails raked pathetically against his skin and your walls clenched around him, silently begging for more when words failed you.
"I love you," he whispered, hips still ruthlessly crashing into you, forehead pressed against your hair, hot breath panting in your ear.
"I love you, too," you mumbled back. "S-so deep like this, Joel, fuck," you whimpered, brows pinching together as you struggled for air. Your legs tensed and your eyes flashed wide open, searching for him as you felt yourself near your peak. His eyes were dark and filled with animalistic desire as he laid claim to you in the middle of your kitchen, and even though his jealousy was severely misplaced, it fanned the flames of excitement inside you.
You were his, and he was yours.
The coil snapped and you sobbed his name, body going rigid under his touch but he fucked you through it, to not only prolong your orgasm but to join you, as well.
"Oh, god," he mumbled repeatedly, his thrusts becoming sloppy, his hands flexing and breath growing ragged before pulling out and spilling himself all over your backside with a heavy groan.
Your upper body slumped across the counter, arms spread wide, eyes squeezed shut. Your legs trembled as you fought to remain upright but soon it wouldn't be your concern. Joel grabbed the nearest dish towel and cleaned you up before dragging your underwear and jeans back up, leaving them unbuttoned, before hastily doing the same to his own so he could gently lift you into his arms.
"You okay?"
You hummed and nodded sleepily against his chest. To your surprise, he bent down to scoop you up with one arm under your knees and he carried you to the couch, setting you down carefully and brushing the loose strands of hair from your face. He stayed there with you, quietly kneeling next to the couch, rubbing soothing circles over your arm, your stomach, your hips until you finally opened your eyes with a sigh. His head was resting against his forearm but he lifted it up when he heard you and gave you a little grin. You smiled back and brushed the pad of your thumb over one of his eyebrows, taking in every fine line, scar and freckle over his beautiful face.
"You don't have to be so jealous, you know. There's nothing to worry about."
He snorted and nipped at your thumb. "I know."
You bit your lip and playfully tapped the tip of his nose. "But maybe we can do that again sometime because that was really hot."
He chuckled and pressed his hands into the cushion of the couch so he could stand with a groan, fingers digging into his lower back with a wince. "You're gonna be the death of me one day."
You giggled and forced yourself to stand, not even bothering buttoning your jeans as you headed for the stairs. "You coming?" you asked him over your shoulder. He nodded.
"Lemme lock up and turn the lights off."
You yawned and continued up the steps, a little smirk pulling at your lips when you reached the top, and you paused.
"Don't forget your glasses."

Someone deeply influential in a subterranean way to comic book culture passed without comment this week: female bodybuilder Lisa Lyon, who was 70. Even if you've never heard of her, I guarantee you've seen her image, or a takeoff of one of her images.
If she seems familiar in some way, there's a reason.
You see, every single artist in the world has it drilled into them that an art swipe (tracing from figure studies or other artists) is unethical, but here’s the thing:
Every single working comic artist does it!
Tumblr media
Is it really cheating if everyone does it? Artists love to mock Rob Liefeld for his art swaps, but it is possible to do the same if you dig into the art catalogue of nearly any comic artist, even today. Nowhere else can I find a better example of the old quote that "hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue."
Tumblr media
In any case, there’s no better figure at the center of this than Lisa Lyon, who in the 1980s, was a female bodybuilder who was the center of an enormously influential series of sophisticated physique study photographs by superstar photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. It sounds almost quaint to remember now, but Mapplethorpe was so influential that he was the first photographer to be called to congress for obscenity in the 1980s, based on his male nudes and study of the gay BDSM scene, in a moral panic that sounds extremely familiar. He was also the first photographer to get a video game, the Flowers of Robert Mapplethorpe on CD-I, which was essentially just an image gallery set to muzak, famously reviewed by a completely baffled Angry Video Game Nerd and his sidekick.
youtube
Mapplethorpe’s favorite subject was Lisa Lyon, and his photographs were so widespread that they were essentially traced and used for art swipes over and over by comic artists that need a study of a muscular female physique.
Tumblr media
So at different points, photograph swipes of Lisa Lyon were the model used for Wonder Woman, She-Hulk, tons of fighting game characters....it's impossible to list all the times a Lisa Lyon photograph was swiped. We may never find them all. Most importantly of all, she was not only swiped but was the physical inspiration for the appearance of Elektra.
Frank Miller always had a foot in the fine art world, and like his mentor, Philip Jose Farmer, was also interested in the theme of how violence is often a substitute for sexuality in the lives of adventure characters. Miller was always fascinated by BDSM (which to me, explains a lot of 300), and explicitly said in many interviews he based Elektra physically on Lisa Lyon and was a great fan of Mapplethorpe.

Life in Jackson quickly became your new normal, apart from the fact that he was here too.
Leo and Ana were thriving, going to school every day. They learned to write and to read and to count and they were excited to tell you about every little thing they had learned in school every time you picked them up.
You already had a big collection of pictures they painted in class all around the house too.
You had been in Jackson for almost four months now.
You brother, being the more open one of the two of you, already had made a lot of friends. He was a trusted part of the patrol group and went out at least twice per week.
He also was officially dating Lauren, the school teacher as of the week before.
And you?
You were… okay.
After the first two weeks of living in Jackson you had started the working rotation to find out how you could provide something to the community and you had been happy to now be working at the kitchen every morning to prepare breakfast and lunch service at the community hall.
Cooking had always been your happy place.
You hadn’t really made any friends.
You were working with Carl, Andy and Lisa in the kitchen, and you were going to weekly dinners at Maria and Tommy’s place.
You and Tommy had a long talk shortly after you arrived.
He had told you how sorry he was for everything that happened. He felt guilty for leaving out of the blue, without telling you, knowing how bad Joel had been back then.
But you weren’t mad at him, and you told him that.
It wasn’t his responsibility to stay back just because his brother did. Tommy had believed he would find something better when he left with the Fireflies. And even though it hadn’t worked out with them, his life still changed for the better.
Leo and Ana were ecstatic to have a little cousin in Sammy. Of course you had to explain what cousin meant, which also meant that Tommy became Uncle Tommy. A title he took with pride.
Life was good.
As good as it could be with anyone doing their best to not mention the big elephant in the room.
Joel.
You hadn’t seen him more for a couple of moments since the morning he came to pick up your brother. That did not mean you had not heard about him though.
Your brother Calvin apparently had been paired with him out on patrol a couple of times and you were more than surprised when Calvin asked you how or if he should answer when Joel asked him questions about you and the twins.
Apparently after the first couple of almost silent patrols out, Joel had to began to ask about you on the latest patrol. Something that surprised you, if you were honest.
You really didn’t think Joel was thinking about you. Even though he told you he was still in love with you all those weeks ago.
How was the man who said all those cruel words to you when you needed him most still in love with you?
And why hadn’t you been able to stop thinking about him ever since that first night you saw him again?
He had not only hurt you, he had broken you. Had blamed the whole pregnancy on you alone, as if he wasn’t the one who had fucked you and had came inside of you.
You were always on the verge between angry, hurt and longing when it came to Joel and you had no fucking clue what to do about it.
So, after taking some time to think about your brothers question over what to tell Joel when he asked about you, you took matters in your own hands and had made the decision to talk to the man in question yourself.
You had asked Maria where you would be able to find him and she had told you that he was working on a house on the other side of town together with Tommy for the week. Apparently the girl, Ellie, wasn’t feeling too well and Joel did not want to be on patrol until she got better.
So on a rainy day, after you got your kids to school, you found yourself walking towards the house Maria had told you. It was Tommy you saw first when you walked up the stairs, his eyes widening in surprise before he nodded his head up, silently telling you that Joel was upstairs.
You were thankful that the house seemed to be empty apart from Joel who you could hear hammering upstairs. Taking a deep breath you pulled your soaked rain jacket off, hanging it on a doorhandles downstairs, before you walked up.
He must have not heard you walk up the steps, his back turned towards you as he knelt on the floor, hammering some floor boards. You approached him quietly, leaning with your shoulder against the doorframe of the door he was working in.
It gave you some time to look at him.
Noticing the changes in his appearance in the last six years.
It seemed to you that he aged quite a lot since the last time you saw him. There was a lot more grey in his hair than you remembered.
When you looked at his hands you found him wearing his wedding ring. The one you had put on his fingers, the one that he hadn’t worn much when you were still together.
You were more than surprised that he still had it.
He stilled for a moment before his head turned towards you, as if he had sensed you standing there. Surprised he raised his eyebrows before he put the hammer down, pulling himself up to his feet with a groan, his joints popping.
You continued to look at him, now noticing the deeper lines around his eyes.
He seemed nervous as he looked at you.
„Calving told me you have questions,“ you said after a while.
„I do,“ he said with a small nod.
„Why?“ You asked.
„So I know that you and the… that you are okay. That you don’t need anything,“ he said.
„You did not care about me when you told me to get the fuck out of your life,“ you said before you could stop yourself. He visibly flinched, closing his eyes.
„I should have never said that,“ he whispered, looking at the ground as he shook his head.
„No, you shouldn’t,“ you agreed.
For a while the only sound that could be heard was the rain outside.
„I revisit that day every single day and I can’t understand why I said those things,“ he said all of the sudden, looking up at you.
„I can not understand why I treated you like I did. And I am not talking just about that night. I am talking about the whole time. Every time I told you that you deserve better, I meant it. I wasn’t… I am not what you deserve. I am broken. Maybe that’s why I kept lashing out at you. To make you understand.“
„It’s because of Sarah,“ you said and you could hear him take a deep breath, his eyes closing.
Only saying this name had him shouting at you in the past, but you weren’t afraid of his reaction now.
„You push everything and everyone away because you feel like it was your fault that Sarah died. And so you push everyone and everything away that could potentially hurt you like Sarah’s death did without realising that it is you how is hurting you,“ you said.
A tear slipped down his cheek.
„They ask about you,“ you said and he furrowed his brows.
„They ask about their Dad. In the community before they did not have an actual school, but the kids got to hang out three times a week and every time friends of them were picked up by their father, they asked about where their Dad was,“ you sighed.
„What did you tell them?“
„That their father was out and looking for a better world for us,“ you whispered, blinking your own tears away. You looked at him with a sad smile.
„They look so much like you. They both have your eyes and your curly hair. And your stubbornness,“ you said the last part with a small smile.
Joel chuckled.
„I’m sorry for that,“ he said with a head shake.
„Can’t wait for them to be teenagers. It’s gonna be a ride,“ you said.
Joel sucked his bottom lip in before he spoke.
„If you need help then, or… anytime really… I have some experience with moody teenagers. Sarah was…,“ a small smile sneaked to his lips, „Sarah could easily bribed with food. My Tacos to be specific. And since Tommy found a Taco press and there’s a whole field of corn currently growing….“
„I’ll keep that in mind,“ you said softly.
Tommy called for help from downstairs and you sucked your bottom lip in.
Joel grabbed his toolbox.
„We have dinner at Tommy’s place every Thursday,“ you said as he turned towards you again.
He nodded.
„If you like, you and Ellie could join us tomorrow,“ you said, before your brain could talk you out of it.
„Are you sure?“
You huffed a laugh.
„Not really. If I’m honest I am terrified of getting hurt again, but I am also tired of running. There is still this part inside of me, that wants you. That is and probably always will be in love with you. But while I figure this part of my feelings out, you can get to know your kids, if you’d like,“ you said.
He nodded slowly.
„I’d really like that.“
Tumblr media
You had never been more thankful to have found a friend like Maria.
After telling her that you had invited Joel over for Thursday night dinner, you had freaked out immediately. Maria knew everything. You had told her you whole history with Joel after she had shown up with a bottle of wine on your doorstep a couple of weeks after you had arrived and you had spilled your feelings after two glasses of wine.
Knowing your whole history with Joel did not help Maria’s dislike of him in the least. She judged him for the things he had done to keep the people he loved safe. How he made Tommy participate. And even though you could have just let Maria rant about him and his ways, you found yourself defending him.
Something Maria could not understand in the beginning.
How you could defend a man who killed, tortured, robbed and hurt people without any consequences. A man who hurt you so baldy you fled across the country while being pregnant.
And logically she was right. There was no sane reason why you should be defending him.
Then again, falling for the man in the first place was probably not the most logic decision you made all those years back.
You just did.
So here you were, a glass of wine in your left hand while you „helped“ Maria cook dinner. You could hear Leo and Ana in the living room as they played with Tommy.
Usually your brother Calvin would be here too, but it was his girlfriend's birthday to day and they had plans.
„You ready to forgive him? Just like that?“ Maria asked.
You shook your head.
„This is not about that. He’s their father,“ you whispered the last sentence.
„And no matter how much of an asshole he was to me, I don’t want to stand in the way of them having a relationship, if he wants to have one,“ you said.
„I think he wants the whole package,“ Maria said, stirring the soup she had made.
You raised one eyebrow.
„Joel came over to help Tommy fix the roof last weekend, and he stayed for dinner and some drinks afterwards. I overhead them talk about you from upstairs,“ she said quietly.
„He is pretty damn determinate to win you back. Said he never loved anyone as much as he does still love you and that he’ll spend the rest of his life worshipping you on his knees if you gave him another chance,“ Maria said.
„He said that?“ You asked. She nodded.
„They were already some beers deep into the conversation, but yeah. I had my doubts, I still have them. But I can’t deny that the man is in love with you. And he’s a great father to Ellie, even though it’s complicated between them at the moment.“
Before you could react there was a knock on the door and you felt yourself tense up.
Maria gave you a warm smile.
„Better get out there, before Tommy tells them who exactly Joel is,“ she said and your eyes widened before you walked towards the door.
Tumblr media
Joel had been nervous many many times in his life.
But nothing seemed to compare to the moment he knocked on the door of his brothers house, knowing you and his two kids, the kids he never met before, were waiting behind it.
He had spent almost twenty minutes trying to find an outfit for himself, like this was some kind of date. Which technically it was. It was a date to meet his children for the first time. And the first step to hopefully earning your trust and forgiveness. So when he saw his blue flannel, the only piece of clothing that had survived all the way from Boston, your favourite shirt on him, it felt like it was a sign.
„So these kids really don’t know who you are?“ Ellie asked next to him. He was more than glad she had agreed to come with him tonight. Though Maria cooking her favourite dinner might have been the real reason she agreed.
Things with Ellie were still tense.
And that was another thing he was to blame for.
He should have told her the truth from the beginning. Not that it would have made the whole situation about Ellie feeling like she lost her purpose better, but at least he wouldn’t have lied to her.
Lying to protect the people he loved seemed to be a pattern in Joel’s life, that he needed to work on too.
„They don’t. I don’t know if or when she will tell them. So please don’t mention it. I know you’re not my biggest fan at the moment, but those kids should not have to suffer because of it, okay?“ He asked.
Ellie rolled her eyes with a sigh.
„Won’t spill the beans, promise,“ she said.
The door opened and Tommy grinned at them.
„Fancy seeing you here,“ he said, Sammy on his arm who already made grabby hands towards Joel. He found himself smiling at his little nephew before he reached over to take Sammy from Tommy.
„Yeah, Yeah. I was promised food,“ Ellie grumbled, pushing past the men.
„Still a ray of sunshine, huh?“ Tommy teased, rubbing through Ellie’s hair and she slapped his hand away with a long groan.
Joel followed them inside, closing the door behind him, Sammy still on his arm. His hands were clammy as he heard Ellie introduce herself to Leo and Ana. Sammy looked up at Joel, putting one tiny hand on his cheek, making raspberry lips. Joel find himself smiling, the nervous flutter in his stomach dying down a little.
„Hi,“ he heard your voice and he turned his head as you walked out of the kitchen towards him. You were wearing what looked like a oversized black sweater that went to the middle of your upper thighs and a leggings beneath it. You looked cozy and he wanted nothing more than to pull you in his arms and….
„Hey,“ he said, interrupting his train of thoughts.
„You want me to go in with you? Introduce you?“ You asked. He found himself nodding.
„I am gonna tell them that you are Joel’s brother. Nothing more right now, okay?“ You asked again and he nodded again.
„Okay,“ you said before you turned away from him, but he reached for you before he even realised he was moving, catching you by surprise, as he carefully wrapped his hand around your wrist. He could hear you little gasp as you turned back to him, your eyes searching his.
„You look beautiful,“ he whispered squeezing your wrist.
He watched as you took a deep breath, your eyes slipping close for just a moment before you opened them and gave him a small smile.
Tumblr media
The combination of seeing Joel wear the shirt you had gifted him for Christmas in 2014 and seeing him hold Sammy in his arms was a little overwhelming.
But that was nothing compared to your body reacting to his touch as he told you that you looked beautiful. You flushed so hard, you were sure you could melt snow if you stepped outside.
It was various kinds of fascinating that he still had that effect on you.
Taking a deep breath as you turned away from him you walked inside the living room where Ellie was already sitting between Ana and Leo who were explaining their rules of Monopoly to them. Tommy had found a lot of boardgames on patrol a while back and borrowed it for tonight.
You did not think playing Monopoly was a perfect bonding experience (it was war really) but who were you to complain?
„You gonna play too Mommy?“ Ana asked as she saw you, giving you those big pleasing puppy eyes she had from her father.
„After dinner. I promise. But we play the official rules and no cheating like the last time,“ you said with narrowed eyes and Leo giggled.
„Hi Ellie,“ you smiled at her and she gave you a small wave before she looked back at the game.
You took a deep breath.
„Remember that I told you that there would be guests tonight? You already meet Ellie, and this is Joel. Tommy’s brother,“ you explained to them.
They both said Hi to him and you looked behind you finding Joel’s watery eyes on them.
„You gonna play with us after dinner too, Mr. Joel?“ Ana asked with hopeful eyes. The dimple that mirrored Joel’s showing on her cheek as she smiled.
Joel cleared his throat and you found yourself stepping closer to him, hesitantly taking his hand.
He looked at you and you gave him a small nod.
„I’d love to.“

It was way past the twins bedtime when you finished the second round of Monopoly. Against your hesitations, no family war broke out and Maria declared herself the winner, much to the disappointment of Ellie.
It only took you three hours to understand why Joel was so protective of the girl. She was funny, smart and took no shit from anyone.
Ana and Leo had been sleeping on the couch for at least an hour when you were helping to clean up the table.
„Can we… do this again?“ Ellie asked hesitantly while Joel was helping his brother in the kitchen to dry the dishes.
„We do this every Thursday. You are always welcome to join, Ellie,“ Maria said.
„Cool,“ she nodded and you smiled, before you looked towards the couch, wondering how you would get those two kids home.
„You think Tommy could help me get Leo home?“ You asked Maria.
„Why? We live on the same street. Joel can help,“ Ellie said before Maria could answer. Maria chuckled.
„She’s right, you know?“ Maria said.
„I always am,“ Ellie said as she walked towards the door, calling one loud bye into the house before she stepped outside.
There was a part of you that did not want this evening to end.
It really felt like you were a family.
After dinner the kids had went right into their first round of Monopoly, Tommy and Joel joining them as you had helped Maria in the kitchen.
All you thoughts about this evening being awkward disappeared as you had come back into the living room to find Leo sitting in Joel’s lap, both of them grinning and plotting against Tommy who had Ana on his lap.
You knew that both of the kids were so much like Joel. But seeing Leo and Joel like that made you realise that he really was a Mini version of Joel.
It made you wonder how the last years could have been if things had went differently.
But maybe he just wasn’t ready for it back then.
„Thank you for dinner, Maria,“ Joel said as he walked back into the living room.
„Yes, Thank you for dinner Maria,“ Tommy grinned as he went over to her, kissing her softly.
„Oh by the way Ellie volunteered you to carry Leo home,“ Maria said towards Joel who raised his eyebrows in surprise.
„Is that so?“ He asked with a chuckle.
„You don’t have to though. I can go ask Calvin…“ you began but he shook his head, walking towards the couch and carefully picked up Leo who, as if sensing it, put his arms around his neck, continuing to sleep soundly.
You gulped, giving both Tommy and Maria a nervous smile before you walked to the couch, picking Ana up. She snuggled against your neck.
„Good night,“ Maria and Tommy whispered, following you down the hallway to their door.
„Good night,“ you whispered back, taking a deep breath before you followed Joel.
Tumblr media
Ellie must have went home already, leaving the two of you alone on the short walk to your house.
„I can’t believe I voluntarily gave all of this up because I was such a coward,“ Joel said quietly as you walked into your street.
„They are pretty awesome huh?“ You asked and you could hear the smile in his voice as he answered:
„They are everything.“
Tumblr media
Once you were at your house you guided him upstairs and into the twins room. He carefully put Leo into his bed before he walked out of the room as you undressed them and put them into their pyjamas. Giving both of them a forehead kiss you walked out of their room, closing the door behind you.
Joel was nowhere to be found so you walked back down, finding him sitting on the porch steps outside. It had started to rain again.
When you approached him you could hear him sniffling, your heart breaking.
„Why don’t you hate me?“ He asked as you sat down next to him.
„I pushed you away. I pushed my wife away, the only woman I ever truly loved. I pushed you away because I was scared to loose you. How fucking stupid can a person be? Why am I like this? I lost everything and rightfully so and yet here you are, giving me a chance to meet the children who I wanted you to…“ he stopped himself. You could see him shaking as he cried, his head lowered, his face hidden behind his hands.
Hesitantly you let your head fall on his shoulder, one of your hand coming to rest on his knee.
„I wish I hated you,“ you whispered;
„But I just can’t stop loving you.“

You know what he means. He’s in a lot more trouble than you are if you both get caught; he’s your dad’s buddy. He isn’t supposed to be fooling around with his best friend’s daughter. You think over what you’ve gotta be doing to him – all the glances when no one’s looking, the touching, practically fucking begging for him to make you cum earlier. It’s no wonder he’s trying so hard to stop himself every time, no surprise he’s doing all he can not to give in to you. And right then, you realize – That’s exactly what you want him to do.
You spend a few more minutes up in your room before you follow Joel out the door and downstairs. You’re a little flustered, okay? Your dad’s best friend just had you literally wrapped around his fingers, and now you both gotta head off to a friendly neighborhood barbecue you’re supposed to be hosting. All smiles. All, Anyone need a refill? All, No, I haven’t just totally been fooling around with Joel Miller.
The house is empty and voices feed in from the backyard. You push aside the shades and step out onto the bright patio, where a few of your neighbors are sitting. Joel stands between Hank and Rita’s chairs, and you amble over to his side.
You sense his body tensing as soon as you reach him, your shoulder brushing off of his deliberately.
“Hello, my girl,” Rita calls, taking one of your wrists in her frail hands. “I sure am glad to see you back on home turf.”
You smile a little awkwardly, placing a hand on top of hers. “It’s nice to see you, too. How’ve you been?”
“Still livin’, honey, still livin’.”
She lets go of you when Hank takes her up in conversation, and your attention turns back to Joel.
“Busy, huh? Lotta people came.”
“Mhm,” he grunts, taking a step away from you and folding his arms. You eyes skim across the new distance between you both, noting it.
“Joel, your Sarah,” Rita swivels to face him, “she’s home soon, right?”
Joel nods. “The seventeenth.”
Hank gives a nod. “It’ll be a fine summer havin’ both you girls back home.”
Joel shifts awkwardly, his eyes darting around the patio. He spots Bill across the pool, by your dad’s work shed, and excuses himself. You track him as he makes off, and feel your face reddening.
Your dad’s head and shoulders materialize through the sliding door to the kitchen and he calls on you, beckoning you in. You hesitantly wander over, a cloud of shame forming over your head that you hope he can’t see.
“Bill’s beer,” he adds a Coors to a tray filled with glasses and bottles, “Marcia’s iced tea, a Coke for Sam…Joel– Shoot, we ain’t got Joel anythin’. Reckon he’ll touch Coors?”
You flinch at the mention of his name, and instantly try to recover it. “I wouldn’t know, why would I know that?”
Your dad’s hands lift like you’ve aimed a shotgun at him. “Alright, cranky, jeez. Go back to bed, get out the right side this time. Here.”
He lifts the tray and slowly passes it over the island to you, the glass trembling.
“…you remember, now? Bill – beer, Marcia – iced tea, Sam–”
“– Coke, yeah, I got it. Go take a Xanax, dad, your hair’s fallin’ out.”
“And ask Joel what he’s after!” he calls as you slip out of the sliding door.
Marcia sits beside her daughter, Lisa, on the pool loungers. You bend your knees and lower the tray for her to reach her drink.
“Thank you, honey.” She grins gratefully as she lifts it off the shaking tray and you return her smile, then continue on.
Bill is stood at the other end of the garden with Joel, arms crossed, both listening to some story Arthur Kennedy’s telling about a mechanic he works with. Arthur Kennedy always kinda scared you, was always loud and drunk. Your dad and Joel used to deliberately come up with excuses to keep you and Sarah away from him at parties.
This time is no different. You approach the group of men from Joel’s right side, dipping behind his back to stand between him and Bill, safely separated from the raving storyteller.
“He says he’d just oiled it, I said, Benny, that engine’s drier ‘n a nun’s nasty!”
He erupts into a roar of laughter despite the silence of his companions, and you nudge the tray against Bill’s arm.
“Oh, darlin’,” he says, turning to you and giving you an affectionate smile as he lifts the beer. “Thanks, sweetheart.”
You smile back. Bill can be gruff, a bit of a loner, but he’s always had a soft spot for you.
“How you doin’?” he asks, taking a swig.
You nod. “Good. Back workin’ at Sal’s, so…living the dream.”
You can feel Arthur’s stare on you like the hot sun. You shift awkwardly from foot to foot, tray tucked under your elbow against your hip.
“I’ll bet,” Bill says. “He got you workin’ hard?”
“Not really. It’s a pretty quiet store. Uh, Dad wanted me to ask,” you turn to Joel, whose eyes are glued to the ground, “what you’re drinkin’?”
He shakes his head, palm hooked around the back of his neck. “I’ll get my own. Thanks.”
“Aw, c’mon Joelie,” Arthur taunts. You try to avoid looking him in the eye out of fear he’ll take you up on it, but he does it anyways. “Why don’t you just let this pretty little waitress of ours bring you a drink? Since she’s bein’ so sweet ‘n offerin’.”
Your eyes flit to Joel. His jaw is tense, his eyes dark as he stares down Arthur.
“You know what,” he says through his teeth, “I’ll take a Bud. C’mon, you’ll know where they are, right?”
“Wh– We didn’t get any–”
“Be in the fridge, I’ll bet.” He takes your arm and pulls you away from the duo, who resume conversation as you leave.
You’re hauled back into the kitchen so fast that you almost drop Sam’s soda.
“Joel, be careful!”
He lets go of your arm and watches Arthur from the kitchen window. “Scumbag,” he mutters.
“Do you suffer from short-term memory loss?” you ask, throwing the tray onto the counter. “Didn’t we have a whole argument in the store about me not gettin’ Bud?”
“Just had to get you away from him, talkin’ like that. Guy pisses me off,” Joel huffs.
“Who pisses you off?” your dad calls, appearing from the bathroom.
Joel shoots him a look. “Arthur Kennedy. What’s he doin’ here?”
“I couldn’t not invite him; I know he’s a dirtball. You stay away from him.” He points a finger at you.
“Very good,” Joel replies. “Great plan. Make it her problem to keep the pervert off her tail.”
“Pervert?” You scoff.
“You don’t hear him at Frank’s!” Joel rounds on you now, and you raise your eyebrows. “That waitress line wasn’t even half of it.”
Your dad chuckles, patting Joel’s shoulder as he passes. “I’ll keep an eye on it.” He wanders out to the patio.
Joel’s still full of rage. You watch him, not sure whether to move closer or let him calm down on his own.
“I think you’re probably overreacting a little. It was a creepy line, and I won’t be goin’ near him anyways, but it’s fine. I can dodge Arthur Kennedy.”
“Shouldn’t need to. Shouldn’t be put in that position.”
He doesn’t take his eyes off of the kitchen counter, palms pressed flat to the surface, shoulders hunched, breathing deep. He looks like a wild bear, like he could rip Arthur Kennedy limb from limb if only he’d just stroll through the sliding door.
You decide to give him some time to cool off.
“I gotta get this Coke to Sam. You good?”
“I’ll be fine,” he snaps, and you take that as your cue to dip.
When you reappear into the sunlight, a pair of hands clamp down on your shoulders, making you jump.
“Hey, stranger!”
“Sam!” you cry, clutching your chest. “You almost gave me a damn heart attack. Here, idiot.”
You hand him the soda, and he tilts it in your direction, a thank-you in the form of a toast.
“I’ve been meaning to drop by Frank’s since I got home, come pay you a visit.”
“I’ll get you a drink on the house when you do.” Sam smiles, blonde fringe gleaming in the sun.
“So, how’s it going?” you ask.
“It’s…going.” He laughs. “Was just talking to Hank about college courses. Figured I might apply. This bartending life is not for me.”
“Do it. Come be a graduate with me. I got a degree, forty grand of debt, and absolutely no prospects!”
Sam laughs. “Nah, you got a brain, you’re gonna work somethin’ out.”
You both take seats by the pool to catch up. Sam’s a nice guy; he was in your circle of friends at school, and, like Anna, always stayed in Austin while you and the rest up and left.
Your dad always thought he had a thing for you, being that he was male and you two were close, and your dad’s an old-fashioned man who doesn’t believe any good can come from two people of opposite genders being friends. But Sam’s a sweet guy, and his being here pushes Joel’s sudden change in behavior a little further back in your mind.
“I’m working later on, so I’m only staying for an hour or so. My mom says hi, by the way.”
“Hi right back. Is she doing okay?”
“Fine! She’s fine. As fine as she can be, I think. Y’know, my dad leaving wasn’t too great. She took it pretty hard. But we’re settled into the new place, she’s doing good. Do you…Did you scratch yourself, or somethin’?”
He points underneath your hair to the side of your neck and your fingers run across the skin, wincing a little over a particular spot under your jaw. A memory flashes before your eyes as the sensitive skin tingles and your eyes instantly lock on the culprit: emerging from the kitchen door, beer in hand, dark eyes scanning the garden for you.
When you lock eyes, he makes a passive expression and wanders off in the opposite direction.
“Uh– No, that’s weird. Well, I had a nap earlier. I might have scratched myself in my sleep, y’know?”
Sam narrows his eyes. He’s twenty-three, dumbass, he’s not an idiot.
You smile sweetly at him and scrape together some reason to excuse yourself, dashing off to the bathroom to examine Joel’s handiwork.
It’s only a little red, probably more noticeable in the sunlight, but still, you grab some concealer and dab it over the mark. Feeling exhausted from running around and pretty pissed off with Joel, you march back outside and throw yourself into a chair beside Hank.
“Your dad knows how to cook a burger,” he tells you, holding a napkin to his mouth. “Delicious.”
“I’ll grab one in a bit. Not really hungry.”
You spend a little time chatting with Hank and Rita, answering their questions about college, telling anecdotes about work, asking about Anna’s makeup business.
“That girl,” Hank shakes his head, “there ain’t no tellin’ her. I’m just her ol’ uptight dad.”
All the while you periodically glance up, across the pool to Joel, and each time, he’s staring right back.
When you get up to grab some food, his eyes follow you. When Sam pulls you in for a hug to say goodbye, he’s watching. When Arthur stumbles over to sit across from Hank, Joel’s figure appears like an apparition at the side of him. Across the table, an appropriate distance away, but keeping an eye on you.
It fills you with equal parts thrill and frustration.
You find yourself laughing extra hard at Bill’s comments, leaning your head on Marcia’s shoulder, leaping to your feet anytime Hank wants a refill, or Rita asks you to light her cigarette. All to get to Joel. All so he has to watch you be unbothered by him for the entire night.
The garden is darker, porch light attracting moths and flies, but a small group of your neighbors sits congregated under blankets on the patio still. You’re talking about New York with Lisa when you notice Joel lean in to your dad across the table.
“I’m gonna head, early start tomorrow,” he says, getting up from his seat.
“You remember your gas tank, Joel,” your dad tells him, nodding over to the grilling station.
“Hey.” You feel a nudge on your shoulder and look up to find his brown eyes looking down into yours. “Give me a hand, would ya? Loadin’ this into the truck.”
“You got it out just fine on your own.”
He calls you by name, and you know from his stern expression he’s serious.
You stand, shaking the blanket from your shoulders, and follow him over to the barbecue. He detaches the tank and picks it up. You wrap your fingers around the handle beside Joel’s, but when the two of you waddle out the back gate, you can feel he has most of the weight.
You reach his truck, shrouded in darkness from the dusk. He hands you the keys from his back pocket and you drop the tailgate, then Joel hoists the tank up by himself and wipes his hands on his jeans.
“What’d you even need me for?”
“Been weird today. Wanted to check you were alright.”
“Are you fucking serious?” You groan. “Are you talking to me or not?”
“Of course I’m talkin’ to ya.”
“Then stop being an asshole, okay? I’m bored of asshole Joel. I want my Joel back.”
He looks at you almost solemnly.
“Look, if you don’t wanna talk about what happened upstairs, we don’t have to, but–”
“’s not that I don’t wanna talk about it.”
“Then what is it?”
The floodlight over the garage switches on and your back gate clicks open. Your dad ushers Rita out, coat draped over her shoulders.
“Just walkin’ Rita home,” your dad calls.
“See ya, hon!”
You wave. “Bye, Rita.”
When you turn back, Joel’s making his way toward the truck door.
“Oh, go fuck yourself,” you mutter under your breath, and silently storm back into the house.
You hear his truck pull away as you throw yourself down onto your bed. Fucking livid.
Alright, you agreed nothing happened. But then Joel went and started acting like something totally happened. If anyone had caught on to the way he was acting, they’d for sure know something was up.
The anger rolls around in your stomach; his avoiding you, the way he kicked off when Arthur made that comment, the way his eyes followed you around the garden afterward.
And worst of all, you fucking liked it. You liked him protecting you, didn’t you? You liked the way he couldn’t help himself, had to make sure you were out of reach of any danger. You liked peering over Sam’s shoulder to find his gaze frozen on you.
You sit up, hands either side of your hips on your mattress. You look down and notice what they’re resting on.
Joel’s flannel shirt.
You’re halfway out the door, shirt in your fist, before you even have time to breathe. You run into your dad in the driveway.
“Woah, woah, where we off to?”
“Joel forgot his shirt.”
“I’m sure he can do without it for a few days, kiddo.”
“I’ll just take it back to ‘im,” you call, hopping in your car before he has time to protest.
You’re at Joel’s in five minutes.
Knocking and waiting for him to answer might ruin the argumentative vibe you’re trying to set, so you fling his front door open and walk straight into his hallway.
The house sits in complete darkness, save for a small light flooding in from the room at the end of the hall. You wander up to it and find Joel sat at his kitchen table, staring down at some contract papers on the wood. Aside from the dull light over his head, the kitchen is dark, orange tinge on the walls from the streetlights outside.
He doesn’t flinch when your shoe scuffs his tile floor. Instead, he just flips the papers back over and sighs.
“Subtlety not in your nature, is it, kid?”
“You left this.” You throw the shirt onto the table.
His eyes scan over it. “Thought I told you to keep it.”
“Oh,” you sit down opposite him, “my mistake. I thought you meant keep it until you’d had your way with me. Thought once you’d dumped me I was to hand the flannel back.”
“Dumped you?” He raises his eyebrows, sitting back in his chair. “Hm.”
“Hm?”
“I wasn’t tryin’ to dump you. I didn’t mean for you to feel…dumped.”
“The most you talked to me all afternoon was to give me a grilling about Arthur Kennedy. All you did was stare at me, then ask me to help you carry a gas tank at the very end of the night.”
He scratches his beard, considering what you’re saying.
“I mean, I thought we agreed to act like it didn’t happen,” you continue, “I thought we were fine.”
“Fine? You think what we did was fine?”
You struggle to find words to reply. Sure, it was better than fine. And at the same time, it was a terrible idea.
“We…We were…We were just messing around.”
Joel almost laughs. “Messin’ around.”
“Yeah,” you protest. “I liked it, you looked like you liked it. What’s wrong with it?”
“I’ll tell you what’s wrong with it. If we do this, if we’re ‘messin’ around’…what makes me any different to…to Arthur Kennedy? Hm? Just another creep on the street, hangin’ around and flirtin’ with girls far too young for ‘im?”
“The difference is I actually want you to do it, Joel.”
His expression drops. He stands up, shoving the chair back, and wanders off toward the kitchen counter.
You twist around to watch him. “I want this. And I’m twenty-three fucking years old, I can decide for myself. Arthur is, like, sixty years old, anyway. And he ain’t even a good sixty – he’s all grey, wrinkly skin, greasy hair like he doesn’t know how to work his own shower–”
“Alright, kid, we’re digressin’ here.” Joel waves his hand.
You snap back to reality and shake your head to clear it of Arthur Kennedy’s leathery skin. “Sorry, sorry.”
“It’s just not a good idea.”
“What’s not?” You stand.
“This. Us. You ‘n me.”
“And did you decide this before or after you fucked around with me in my bedroom?”
Joel sighs, shaking his head and turning away. He places one hand on his hip, the other to the bridge of his nose.
“I mean…” You throw your arms up, finally at breaking point. “What are you doing to me?”
Your tone forces him to turn back. When your expression matches it, he approaches you, gently cupping your face in both hands.
“I’m tryin’ to rein this in a little, baby. I’m tryna be the responsible one here. You know how hard it is not to give in to this? To you?”
And right then, you realize –
That’s exactly what you want him to do.
Your head falls limp in his grasp. “Then, stop trying.”
Joel’s eyes trace over your face; down the bridge of your nose, across your lips, over to where your jaw meets his rough hands. He’s tossing the thought of it over in his head like a penny. Only there’s no right answer.
Heads, you call it off, and lose any chance of ever knowing what this is between you guys. Tails, you fall down the rabbit hole; secret, clandestine, forbidden rabbit hole, and risk losing…well, everything.
Is it worth that risk? Just to feel him on you again? To feel his lips across yours, hungry, demanding, his hips grinding into you, his hands all over you, the way he looks at you as you cum for him…
Suddenly, like the realization hits him at the exact same time as it does you, Joel’s eyes darken.
Yeah. It’s fucking worth it.
His grip becomes rough, shifting from your jaw to around your throat. He pulls you toward him, lips connecting, and your hands press against his chest.
His grasp drops, squeezing your hips, before one hand leaves to settle between your legs. He just can’t get enough, can he?
“Uh-uh,” you mumble against his mouth, “you had your taste earlier. It’s my turn.”
You push him back against the counter. He’s staring at you with nothing but lust behind his eyes. Without a word, you sink down, knees hitting the cold tile.
“Baby…” Joel hums when your hands find his belt buckle. You smirk at his voice; you’re too good to be true to him. Like he can’t believe what’s about to happen.
You undo his belt and pull it through the loops, letting it fall to the floor with a clink. Then your fingers undo his jeans, almost tearing them apart by the zipper with your eagerness to see him.
As you pull the denim over his hips, you feel his hand softly rest on the crown of your head. A quick glance up tells you he’s watching every single thing you’re doing, lapping it up like it’s the last thing he’ll ever see.
You can see the bulge through his boxers; it’s big. Bigger than you imagined, even with your hand stuffed down your panties.
You place a gentle kiss to his thigh and pull the waistband of his underwear down, and his cock springs free. You gasp a little at the size of it, feeling your mouth watering at the sight of precum on his tip.
Your hands wrap around it, clutching his girth. You pump him a few times in your hands and he tips his head back, mouth agape. His free hand grips the counter, steadying himself.
His tip oozes more precum and you wrap your lips around it, sucking gently. Joel groans, audibly. The most audible you’ve heard him yet. It drives you insane.
You push your lips down his shaft, his cock filling up your mouth to your throat before you even reach the bottom. You push down as far as your throat will allow before releasing him with a pop, saliva mixed with Joel all over your lips.
“Good girl,” he’s mumbling, eyes still screwed shut, hand still knotting in your hair.
You drag your tongue along the underside of his dick, closing your eyes. All you can think is Joel, all you can taste, smell, and breathe is him. Completely dumb for this man, cock stretching your mouth so good.
When you take him in down to your throat again, he begins moving his hips; fucking your mouth. You steady yourself, hands on his upper thighs, and let him, trying not to lower your hand to your cunt to relieve the ache quickly growing there.
The sounds he’s making are enough to make you cum by themselves. He’s panting, moaning, breathing your name, groaning whenever your cheeks hollow and you suck until he’s so close he pulls you off.
“Wanna take my time, baby. You’re doing so good.”
You pull him back into your mouth. He tastes like sweat and salt and Joel. He tastes perfect.
When he bumps the back of your throat and you gag a little, you notice Joel’s head snap down to check on you. His grip on your hair loosens, and you softly gaze back at him, eyes blown with lust, to let him know you’re okay.
You drag your lips off of his head, a string of saliva still linking your mouth to his reddened tip. You’re panting now, half-turned on, half-tired from accommodating the size of him between your jaw.
Your palms wrap around his length again, pumping and twisting slowly while your tongue flicks over his head. He grits his teeth, both hands now against the countertop, knuckles whitening the longer you go on.
When you let go of him and dip your head down to take his whole cock in your throat, he lets out a deep groan.
“Keep goin’, baby, keep doin’ that,” he’s groaning, your head bobbing up and down. “Don’t fuckin’ stop.”
His hand falls to the back of your head and he applies a little pressure, fucking into you again.
When you begin to feel him jerk, you lean back, hands helping him to his high as you hold his head to your bottom lip.
Joel’s hand never leaves your head as his cock twitches, filling your throat and coating your tongue in warm, salty cum. He’s calling your name, breath heaving and hips shuddering.
His length slides out of your mouth. When his orgasm subsides, he watches you lick your lips and swallow his load, before tucking his softening dick under his boxers and pulling his jeans back up.
You watch in a distant haze of ecstasy as Joel does his pants up himself and takes your chin in his hand.
Breathing heavy, you look up at him, eyes hooded. Waiting for permission to stand.
“C’mere,” he whispers, and your tired legs hoist you back up to height.
He envelops you in his arms, placing a kiss to your forehead and letting you lean into his chest.
You let your eyes fall closed as you breathe each other in.
“So good to me,” Joel mumbles against your forehead, and you lazily smile.
You could let him carry you up to his bed and fall asleep right then and there, you think. That is, until you hear your phone vibrating on the table.
“Fuck,” you groan, and Joel releases you from his grasp.
“Just makin’ sure you ain’t dead,” your dad chirps down the line.
“I’m still at Joel’s,” you reply, “just leavin’.”
“Don’t you be keepin’ him, you hear?”
You pretend not to, and get him off the phone as quickly as possible. When you turn back around, Joel’s stood with a smirk on his face.
“Go on. Don’t want to make him suspicious.”
You skip over and place a kiss to his lips, and he runs a hand through your hair.
“Like I said, we’re not doing anything wrong.”
“Just messing around,” he says.
----------
As you approach the front door, you pause for a second and compose yourself. Glance in the window to check your reflection, take a deep breath. The last thing you need right now is your dad noticing something’s different.
He’s sitting in the recliner watching baseball highlights when you stumble in. He doesn’t turn to look at you as you dive straight for the refrigerator to grab a bottle of water.
“Hey there. Joel get his precious shirt back?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah, sure. Just couldn’t be bothered with it lying around my room.”
He hums absentmindedly. You stand by the kitchen island chugging the water, avoiding conversation with him and looking for an excuse to dismiss yourself to bed.
“Hey,” he says after a bit, “did you find the burgers too…salty?”
You choke on your drink. “The– Too– What?”
“The burgers. Not sure if I over-seasoned ‘em. Were they salty?”
“No. They were fine. They were fine.”
Dizzy with adrenaline, you feign sleepiness and bid him goodnight. When you reach your room and collapse onto your bed, your phone buzzes.
Your eyes scan over the text; your heart skips and you feel a flutter just south of your belly button.
Joel: You free Sunday?

CW: gore & blood It all will end where it began - at Snake Meadow Hill Church Love letter for @zzoupz John loves you AU

Don't be afraid, preacher. I hear His voice loud and clear now. He's welcoming you. And so do I. It's our last opportunity to talk before my Ascension. So ask, don't make Him wait

John You don't recognise my face, Miller? I'm John Thomas Ward, a servant of His, just like you. I condemned myself to God since young age and, under guidance of father Garcia, learned true ways of preaching and serving His will. I was priest of false church before you, cowards, threw me away from God's home. But I hold no anger.
Snake Meadow Hill Church Too predictable, isn't it? Sentimental even. I was thinking the same when we moved here. Still, this place more fitting than anything: it's cradle of my own faith.

Horned twins Ah, will-o-wisps. You're not the first whom they brought here. My apologize if they caused you any trouble. I couldn't deny them their fun.
"Him" I see. You forgot for whom you've been praying to. Don't be ashamed: you're not the first or last one to went astray. Recall: Him is above, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If only you weren't so afraid, you would hear His voice though mine.

Lisa Pearson Made not for caring His will on her shoulders, but for guide us towards it. A sinless lamb, iconographer, send to us long ago even before I knew my destiny. She was closer to absolute pureness that anyone of us could get. She was the one whom Initiation you interrupted, but it doesn't metter now. Everything went according to plan. She's with Him now, speaking with us from above.
The Ascension The Ascension isn't some bloody mess as you describe in church guidelines. It's delicate, precise process of hard work. And in the end - He grands His blessing. Firstly, one must clean themselves from any sin. For each sin there's way of redemption. Not just penance: for pride, lust and warth - mortification of flesh, for greed - poverty of monkhood, for envy - condemnation to another, for gluttony - everlasting fest, for sloth - work. Cleaning can take years… But you will know when you're ready.
Then comes the Ascension. No need to describe - you about to witness it. Participate, even.
Oh, how nice of you were to visit us today.
