I arrived at my boyfriend’s house for the night and unpacked all my clothes and makeup, he looked very concerned when I pulled out the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm in sensitive and popped it on his dresser. I tried to explain it was a primer, but then I had to explain what a primer was and then I gave up.
#gallery-0-11 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-11 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-11 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
This product has received a lot of hype off youtube and make up guru’s and when products suddenly get raved about all of the internet it’s easy to get sucked in. As I did.
I have been using this product for around two months and I bought it when it was half price from Boots. Which meant it was somewhere between £2 and £3. So ridiculously inexpensive for a lovely glass bottle and a tonne of product!
Now I should first mention I have terribly dry skin, like peely dry. Winter has been harsh this month.
But seriously my skin is in very poor condition and hence I have not been able to use it everyday this month. But before me dry spell (ew) I was using it everyday and the difference in longevity was incredible.
So I use about a moisturiser amount of product rub it all over my face before my foundation and after my moisturiser and serum. The key to this product is to keep rubbing it into the skin until it gets kind of tacky and sticky. This is because there’s glycerin in the post shave balm and that’s what helps your foundation stick to your skin and last longer. Ensure you buy the sensitive version because the ingredients differ in the other post shave balms.
It is a strange sensation smelling of men and rubbing it into your skin until you get all sticky. But at the end of the day when your base is still in place (sick rhymes) you’ll fall in love I promise, I made my sister and my friend try it and they both love it now! And hey even my boyf has nabbed some of mine once before.
I’m sorry my posts are sparse, but I promise there are more to come.

New Year’s Eve means only one thing to makeup lovers. Bold eyes. Grab your glitter, your blue eyeshadow, and your massive lashes because New Year’s Eve is the time to go all out. And what better to pair a bold eye look with? A nude lip, easy. I have some excellent options that will please everyone, from all ends of the price spectrum.
NYE is the perfect opportunity to get all kinds of ‘glammed up’ and hence I think you should pair your bold eye look with this trendy nude/pink/brown shade.
#gallery-0-21 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-21 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-21 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-21 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
All three shades you can see are similar but slightly different.
The first shade is from Essence and is the cheapest of my three. (I have spoke about lipstick before on my blog in this post .) It’s called a liquid lipstick, and although the label has rubbed off I think it’s the shade 02. Let me first say that despite the name, golly gosh no this is not a liquid lipstick. It’s more like a highly pigmented lipgloss that can be worn alone.
#gallery-0-23 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-23 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-23 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-23 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
This gloss is so inexpensive and perfect as a subtle lip choice for any NYE makeup look. You can purchase Essence from Wilko’s in the UK and at only £2.50 it’s a perfect choice for you savy lot.
This swatch I only swiped once and you can see how much pigmentation there is. It’s a really pretty pink colour with a brown undertone which makes it very on trend and perfect lighter skin tones.
_____
The next choice is from L’Oreal it’s a ‘Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire’ (bloody long name). This one is in the shade Molto Mauve 500 and costs £8.99.
#gallery-0-24 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-24 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-24 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-24 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
This is also a highly pigmented gloss type of product. Rumour has it Kim K wore this product in the shade ‘Ballet Slippers’ and other lip products on her wedding day with Kayne. (Good fact from Grace, thank you very much.)
This shade is a little darker than the essence product and also this has tiny tiny flecks of glitter in, which helps gives a beautiful shine to your lips. If you want a bit more of an impact lip choice this one is not as subtle as the essence gloss.
___
My last option is my favourite, and I think the actual one I will wear on NYE, because I am a lipstick girl at heart. It’s a Kyle Jenner lipstick shade, Twig from MAC.
#gallery-0-25 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-25 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-25 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-25 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Twig has been a staple of mine since I bought it, you can tell I have made a large dent in it. At £15.50 MAC is at the cheaper end of the high end price scale and also MAC is sold at a lot of different retailers.
Twig is perfect to pair with any statement eye look and is a better choice for you lipstick lovers than the first two. It’s a satin finish, so matte yet comfortable. Twig is also excellent to pair with a pencil if you fancy over lining you lips this Thursday evening.
___
So they were my three lip options to mark the start of 2016.
For some more inspiration here’s three youtube tutorials of bold eyes that I love.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope everyone has a lovely and safe night celebrating the new year.🎉

My handbag could be described as both a tomb and a black hole. Lipstick will enter and very often get lost, never to return. But they get chosen to enter this world for a good reason and hence I thought it would be fun to see what lipsticks and lip products I carry around with me.
I mean I say my bag is a mess but I’m a lot better than I used to be. I don’t carry around just lipsticks either. 😏 I actually do contain some sensible stuff in my bag as well, but it’s mostly useless. I have quite a few lip products in here because there’s nothing worse than when you go to top up your lipstick when you’re out and about but you forgot to bring it with you. Then you have to change your lip shade to one you have on you and it’s just a big mess. 😒
I don’t really carry around lipstick for the scenario if I leave the house without wearing one because obviously I never leave without some sort of shade of whatever on my lips. They’re more for ‘top ups’ and because I forget to take them out of my bag.
This little coin purse is from Catseye and I got it for my birthday. I used to fit four lipsticks in it but now I’m more sensible and carry use full stuff.
Firstly I have some bobby pins because stray hairs ain’t cute. Next I have some Zovirax because cold saws ain’t cute. And chapped lips ain’t cute so I always carry some Carmex. I literally swear by this stuff even though my sister hates it. I prefer the tubes because I hate nails in my lip balm, but I need to use this up so I chucked it in my purse. And it has spf 15, which is always good.
I also have a free tester of this Smashbox lipgloss that I actually quite like in the shade ‘Disco Rose’. It’s so adorable and small that it fits perfecting in this purse. The Dopher applicator is the perfect size and is really flexible. Its not super opaq, but its perfect for a natural everyday gloss. And it smells like sweets.
Lastly I have a Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter in the shade ‘Red Velvet’, We know how much I love this lipstick, I rave about it a lot. Its just a great deep red that is easy to wear.
Next we go onto the stuff thats just swimming around the bottom of my bag. I have a MUA Velvet Lip Laquer (best name ever) in the shade ‘Kooky’, because I was wearing it the other day. At £3 this is a crack a lackin lip laquer. Blog post to come soon.
Next is my Kate Moss 107 from Rimmel London which is so amazing I have review it twice on my blog already, here and here.
I have two Vaselines, I prefer the coconut one to the original but to be perfectly honest I hate them both and much prefer Carmex. I only use them when I use my matte lipsticks as like a base so it doesn’t dry out my lips too much. But apart from that they’re pretty useless and hence I don’t even know how they got in my handbag.
To further aid the hell of drying matte lipstick I carry around a Elf Super Glossy Lip Shine in the shade ‘Angel’. I also got this free with one of my orders and I honestly don’t remember the last time I used this but I like to use it when I’m wearing a Essence Lip Liner on it’s own to add a bit of sumthing sumthing and stop the liner from settling in the cracks of my lips.
For some reason the majority of my lip products are chapped lips related. The Cocoa Butter Formula is actually quite good and smells amazing. Dark Chocolate and mint smells god damn delicious on my lips. Its super creamy which makes it extra great under lipstick because it really helps to stop lipstick from settling into the cracks in my lips. I don’t use it that often but oh my days it smells so freakin good.
The last lipstick I have in my bag is the one I’m wearing today and it’s from Topshop. It’s in the shade ‘Sashay Away’ and it’s a super grungey brown lipstick. I’m not going to talk about it too much because I’m going to do a blog post on them soon because I larrrrrrve them.
This unoriginal blog post has been fun for me to write, I absolutely love ‘whats in my bag’ blog posts and Youtube Videos. If you carry around any handbag essentials I would love to know. As I mentioned I have lots of blog posts planned about the MUA lip lacquers and the Topshop lipsticks, so please stay tuned for that.

Hello February! I apologise for this post being 4 days late, my wifi connection is crap and wouldn’t let me post yesterday. I don’t particularly do the whole ‘new year, new me’ motto, aside from my new 90210 and Pretty Little Liars addictions and a handful of new lipsticks I’m pretty much in the same position as last month. But I have been reaching for two lipsticks frequently which are new to me in January and there’s a few ‘non lipstick’ products I wanted to show appreciation for as well.
I was cursed by the wicked witch of the chapped lips west last month and it has meant that I’ve been neglecting all my matte lipsticks. I’ve been forced to use more balm and gloss like products to wear day to day and I have to admit it’s helped, but my lips are still painful as we go into February. When I spotted these products on a £5 each offer on Superdrug I had to buy two of the Revlon Colourstay Moisture Lip Stains . But I don’t want to talk about just lip products and hence I want to write my thoughts on the Soap and Glory Archery Pencil and an app from Oral B. (not the tooth paste, I just needed something to go in the picture🙈)
The Revlon Colourstay Moisture Lip Stain are exactly what it says on the tin, moisturising stains. They are a hard formulation to describe as they feel slightly balm like, but more of a liquid state and quite thin.
They are really pigmented and their staying power is fantastic as the gloss lasts quite long but the stain stays on the lips for practically all day. I have seen these mentioned and hyped about by a few different bloggers, in particular Fleur De Force adores them.
They come in a wide selection of colours and what I love about Revlon is all the lip products shades match, so shade 50 is the same colour in all Revlon lip products. I seem to be becoming a creature of habit because I picked very similar shades to the Revlon Colourbursts I already own.
I chose shades 45 ‘New York Scene’ and 30 ‘Milan Moment’ as I knew I would like these colours and hence if I didn’t like the product I knew it wouldn’t be as a result of the colour. In addition I love all the fashionable locations as shade names, it’s quirky and cute.
As I mentioned they were on offer when I bought them this month from Superdrug, if I recall rightly all Revlon lip products were reduced to £5 and these retailed originally at £8.99 which I think is a really good deal. I really adore them and the colour selection and formulation allows them to be wearable for both young and older lipstick lovers.
In my monthly favourites I’ve decided I’m not just gonna talk about just lipsticks but post about my makeup favourites as I love reading reviews and appraisals of products and I feel more savvy when I buy a product and I know it’s gonna be good. I hope my quick reviews of products that I’ve been loving this month makes you feel more savvy too.
The Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil came into my collection back in November and initially I was not a fan.
Unfortunately you can see the writing has rubbed off mine.
Unfortunately you can see the writing has rubbed off mine.
Obviously it is the top swatch.
After seeing Gabriella Lindley use it so much on her channel I gave it another go. I like to either A) fill in my entire eyebrows with it for more of a natural look and use a power to set it. Or B) as seen in my Christmas Makeup Look I use this and the Elf eyebrow kit. (See a full review by my fabulous friend Charlotte on her new blog)
Mine is in the darkest shade ‘Hot Chocolate’ and at first I thought it was too light for my brows but now I think it’s quite a natural look for daytime. Aside from the helpful spoolie and the super small wax for intricate brow work, I love it because of the lasting power. The hard wax is perfect for filling in and naturally shaping my brows but once I use the product in the morning it last all day. Zero exaggeration.
The last favourite of the month I want to blog about is an app from Oral B, this app is on the Apple App Store but as an iPhone owner I don’t know about androids. It’s a super simple app that essentially times to ensure you brush your teeth for the full 2 minutes.
Sounds too simple to be anything special right? Wrong. Whilst brushing your teeth you can read news stories, keep track of your statistics, it even gives you little motivational comments!
easy way to ensure 2 full mins of brushing
good news stories!
you get fun little comments
The app is designed to be used with a certain toothbrush Oral B sell with bluetooth connectivity but I don’t own one of these so I just use a normal electric Oral B one. I have converted my younger sister onto this app and we have both seen our teeth get whiter. I really would recommend giving it a go, it’s free so even if you don’t like it or use it that often you haven’t wasted any pennies.
For my first favourites post I’m extremely happy with the products (and app) I included as I would recommend all of these to everyone. I hope you enjoyed this post andplease comment below telling me your favourite lip product of the month or if you would like me to do another one of these monthly favourites posts. Thank you so much for reading and I will be posting again next Tuesday.

Last halloween all the cheerleaders dressed up as ‘Jigsaw’ from the horror film Saw. (Don’t go looking for the pictures, it was a messy night.) Obviously aside from the red bow tie and the white shirt an essential part of the look was the red swirls on the cheeks and I flippantly picked up a red £1 lipliner from Wilko’s to do the job. I completely forgot about it, but now I don’t reach for any other liners.
I have already wrote a blog post on some good £1 Lipsticks that I would recomend, and I felt £1 lip liners would follow on nicely. They are so affordable and fabulous I picked up every shade, which is not like Grace at all.
These liners are from the brand Essence which I believe is a relatively new brand to the UK, from their website I understand they are very popular in the rest of Europe and the USA. As you can see from the website the target market for the brand is very young with all the cartoon models and bright colours. But regardless, the products are of a good quality and the prices are ridiculously insignificant. As I mentioned I only picked up the red shade for fancy dress purposes but once I tried it on my lips I went out to Wilkos and bought every colour that was in stock. I’m repeating this point because it is so unlike me, you don’t understand its a big deal!
The formulation of the liners is extremely creamy and they are very easy to glide on the lips and make it easy to create a good line around the lips. I prefer the wooden pencil liners like these as I feel it’s easier for me to make a precise, thin line. Furthermore the formulation is so creamy that you can fill in your whole lips with them and they won’t dry out. They’re all such neutral colours and so wearable. I converted my sister to these lip liners and she is convinced they are better than Mac and she often fills in her whole lips with them. I have to admit that I copied her and oh my days, best decision.
My favourite colour is either ‘in the nude’ or ‘satin mauve’. They are bother really versatile colours and yet quite unique. I mean although they are fabulous and I do swear by them, they have some flaws. For example all the liners start off as quite firm, hard pencils and hence the first time you use it you get an extremely thin line. But then after this they are more of a soft pencil perfect for filling in the entire lips. Another down fall is once you have filled in your entire lips, after a while the liner seems to settle into the cracks in your lips. This unflattering look is fine when a lipstick is placed over the top of the liner. But when I use the liner alone I frequently place lip balm and more liner on top to keep my lips looking perf. 😘
So these lip liners I would recommend to every single person, they are so cheap that even if you are unsure about them you won’t feel bad if you don’t like them as much as me! In addition there are so many colours I am sure everyone will find one that suits their fancy. With over drawn lips very much present in a lot of people’s makeup routine, this is a super cheap way to experiment or a cheap alternative to doing your favourite overdrawn lip combo.
Grace 💕

Lipsticks Are Like Socks, Or Is It Just Me?
You know when you do a wash of clothes and when it comes to putting the clothes away, you realise you’re missing one sock. “How on earth could one sock get lost all on its own?”. That is exactly how I’m feeling right now.
This post is just a casual chat and there will still be a blog post on Tuesday, this is just an extra, lucky you guys.
I’ve lost two lipsticks, can i start to panic now?

My Look Into The History Of Lipsticks.
So it’s a new year and most definitely not a new me, but I am feeling nostalgic like every other human being. I thought I’d use the occasion to post something a bit different to my usual review of a lipstick and actually look back a lot further than the past year and all the way back to the beginning of lipstick.
The history of makeup really interests me, the way makeup has evolved and…

DECEMBER 2014 FAVOURITE.
I felt the cap locks were appropriate at this time. The end of the 2014 marks the end of an amazing year for me, in general and in the world of lipsticks. There was a clear winner when looking back on my year of lipstick purchases, I have gone through a lot of obsessions and favourites but I have become besotted with this lipstick. I must admitt that I did only purchase it spontaneously in The…
