Feeling nostalgic...24 years ago (last month), the Lion King Celebration Parade debuted at Disneyland, and ran for three years. We both worked on this parade: Kevin sculpted models and Jody did the color styling for the floats. We recently re-discovered a rare shot of Kevin's original clay maquette for the Simba character that stood atop the Pride Rock float. This model provided reference to the fabrication shop in building the life-size character puppet. Reworked this design a little bit 😊 After looking at the first version I really wanted to get a little humor in here so I decided to go with one of my favorite scenes and add a little grub 😆 Also did some research on fabrics and snagged these awesome glitter ones so the whole thing should be quite sparkly when it's all done! Decided I needed a new bag. 😄🦁 . Always loved this little guy and thought he'd make fun bag. Especially since I can use some big old sew on gems for his eyeballs because I like to put them on everything...😂👀✨!
