The Lion Guard au where it's warrior cats & all the different species are individual clans, with the exception of adopted family or friend groups (for example: chama, mzaha, and furaha) and loners (for example: bunga and fuli).

the real reason kion is doing full day shifts protecting the pridelands is because of a stupid warrior cats-style prophecy, that obviously includes fuli, bunga, beshte and ono. The Five Apprentices, if you will

they are constantly taking on other, older apprentices (like janja's clan) and even full-grown adult cats (like the crocodiles, vultures, and jackals). all because some silly star cats told them to. looking at you mufasa

lionclan is the most powerful clan with the most powerful and respected leader (thunderclan-coded fr) however he is doing jackshit to help his teenage son and his friends who are fighting every fucking day while he sits at pride rock. average warrior cats plotline am i right

also props to lionclan for nepotism in leader roles 👍 /sarc

the clans live in relative harmony but there is a divide in the general territory where the Pridelands are connected to "starclan" and the Outlands are connected to the "dark forest", at least until jasiri becomes leader

instead of savannah summits there's full-moon gatherings with ALL the clans (i'm thinking the Outlands are allowed to attend eventually, for even more drama), which is pretty much a night of stress for everyone because i can imagine it's lots of disagreements and arguments lmao

i have some more ideas but this is the basis. don't mind me just combining my two favourite xenofictions into one cursed au >:)

I know people say you can’t portemanteau names for warrior cats ships because it just creates a new name, but have you considered the potential for titles? (aus or other fanfictions, but I think it would be rad for a fantasy romance book inspired of the series)

Concept titles and plots after canon ships (you’re free to steal them or request others):

Under the Blue Oak : Bluestar x Oakheart inspired. The younger daughter of the king and the younger son of the neighboring king fall in love. However, when her sister dies and her brother in law is presumed to become regent (because the eldest daughter had a son before dying who is now first in line for the throne) she has to abandon her love in order to prove her loyalty to the kingdom and be regent instead of her BIL. Now, tho, what she doesn’t know is that she is pregnant...

Sands of Fire : Sandstorm x Firestar inspired. In a (mildly xenophobic) desert kingdom, a foreigner is brought in by the aging queen and trained by the older guards alongside four other recruits. Two of the highest-ranking guards are killed in attacks, and the third ascends to the post of minister of the army. One of the five recruits fakes his death; another leaves the kingdom to be with his beloved. When the foreigner saves the only girl of the group in a fight, when she almost fell from the high walls of the city, she starts seeing him in a different light. As they slowly become a couple, they discover a deadly plot against the queen. He saves her and becomes king before marrying his beloved.

A Lion’s Cinders : Lionblaze x Cinderheart inspired. Young Leon was born in a dynasty of warriors and a prophecy hangs over his head. However no one knows what the consequences will be if he doesn’t fulfill it. One day, he meets a young girl his age, also from a family of warriors, and both hang out together, secretly relieved to have a normal friend. Indeed, she is herself the reincarnation of the wise mage who advises the first king of Leon’s line. When she discovers the prophecy, and he discovers the reincarnation, they decide to ally against their pressuring families... and against fate. Sealing a pact, Leon swears to help her get rid of her ancestor’s soul in her body, while she swears to help Leon fullfill the prophecy. The title comes from the fact the Lion is the nickname of the first king of Leon’s line and he is seen as the cinders from which might spring a lion/phoenix/new golden age.

The Crooked Willow : Crookedjaw/star x Willowbreeze. A cursed and disabled prince falls in love with a witty and kind young princess. She decides to spend her life by his side despite the warning of the magicians and soothsayers. As she dies soon after childbirth along two of her triplets because of the plague that swarms the realm, the prince realizes the curse was all his own making because as a toddler he agreed to a fae pact without realizing it. He then goes and confront the fae responsible (Mapleshade) and kills the fae with the help of the ghosts of all the loved ones he lost to the curse. Before they fade away (having finished their business) his wife tells him to take care of their daughter. The prince can finally be happy and love someone without risking to lose them but it’s a bit late for that.

i've had a lion guard as warrior cats crossover au bouncing around in my head for a little while... i was thinking about kiburi's design but didn't want anything too final so i made some sketchy concept art! this definitely wouldn't be his final design 😅 but i wanted to brainstorm it a bit

he's at a gathering! where all the leaders and their followers meet to discuss news. this would take place after the canon outlands are reformed, where jasiri has convinced the pridelands to allow the outlanders to participate and have their say, so kiburi is (somehow) allowed to attend the battle cat version of a savanna summit, albeit he's a lower status than jasiri herself and beside him would be mzingo, janja and reirei. i was going for a more discontented expression on him but faces are hard lol

not sure if i'll ever release the full au because i don't think anyone is as fixated on the lion guard and warrior cats as i am, but i'll put some stuff under the cut if anyone's interested :)

my main thoughts were on how kiburi and crocodiles would look in the au; they're tall, they're long, their fur is spiky but slim for swimming, perfectly representing their snappy attitude & their strength in the water, and perhaps how regal some of them think they are. their fur and their hair is very distinct, as well as their colours. they have some similarities to the lions in this au, but crocodile-kitties do not have manes, their legs are shorter and their tails are thicker! plus, no lion-kitty is as adept at swimming as them. it's also important to note that croc-kitties have the strongest, harshest bite in battle and rarely use their claws, because they don't need to.

as in canon, kiburi would have a very distinct and recognisable design! he has a big face, but he's oddly slender for a croc-kitty, and his hair stands out a lot. you know him when you see him basically

In the Three Queens au how would the family bloodline continue?

if the three didn't want to have kids of their own, then kion could continue the bloodline. i haven't fully developed him in this au yet, especially not who i'll ship him with if anyone at all, so i suppose that could leave room for him to have biological cubs in the future?

other than that — family lines don't have to be blood. take timon and pumbaa being uncles to simba and bunga for example! kiara, tiifu and zuri could adopt a lion cub or another animal if they so wanted :)

but if they did want biological cubs, they'd have someone be a sire. probably kovu, assuming that the outsiders pride redeemed themselves... or even if they didn't, UNTIL kovu sired the three queens' cubs. imagine the birth of those cubs being a reason why the outsiders reformed, now that'd be interesting lol
