Day 4 - Ganon

This took some proper brain juice to realise what I wanted to draw. I even read through 200 pagest of Masterworks to get inspiration. All it took to ask K. for her to say “Draw Link and Zelda looking for Ganon in Botw 2″. Boom, here it is.

This was such a blood bath. I started at 6 pm intending to finish at 10 pm. I finished at 2 am, because my too-much-gene is unforgivable. 

I think I was not so happy with the colours irl, so I pumped them up in photoshop, but that’s art too.

Studies like this are so important when I need to understand the character design. I also adore the new outfits. Zelda’s short hair and Link’s Hylian armor over his Champion tunic. 

When I was reading Masterworks, I was stunned by the amount of detail that went into BotW and how much has been scrapped out. No wonder, there will be a sequel. I am pumped.

Speaking of which. The Mini direct on the 20th? No words.

Linktober Day 2: Fairy Fountain

For those of you who don't know, Linktober is similar to Inktober in that every day of October has a different drawing prompt but Linktober is specifically related to the Legend of Zelda games! These games mean the world to me and they're my main inspiration for all of my artwork, so of course I had to participate!! Ill be doing prompts from the main calendar this year (⬆) so I hope you look forward to seeing my artwork! I also included some of my favorite drawings from last year's Linktober so you can see my improvement 💛💛 I'll be posting every single day starting on Thursday, and I can't wait to show you all the art I've been working on for the past month and a half! 🎉🎉🎉

(L)Inktober Day 1: Ancient

Wanted to let this piece look more sketchy because I thought it would fit the prompt very well. I'm not that satisfied with it but Inktober is not about drawing a masterpiece every single day, right?!

Linktober Day 1: Ancient. For This Linktober I will stick to a LOZ 1/2 theme. Some of the prompts might not work out but there will always be a way! For “Ancient” I decided to do the cursed sleeping Princess Zelda!

Day 3 - Fairy Fountain

It was 7 pm when I started drawing this illustration of Link looking up to a fairy. I really coudn’t imagine drawing an actual Fairy Fountain from BotW. I was rusty at drawing and I just really wanted to draw something that will not challenge me to the maximum.

Oh, I was so wrong. This really took a long time and I think I only finished at about 1 am. But I was really happy that I pushed myself to the finish line. 

I really struggled with the technique, I have not used gouache for a quite long time (maybe more than a year), therefore remembering what what needed to be done took a toll on some brain cells.

When I posted this on instagram, walking away from it for 20 minutes, having a glass of wine, I looked at it later and realised that I see many mistakes I was not happy with. Like his right eye basically being infected and his hand being gigantic. But hey, it’s also great that I realised these mistakes.

When I do my illustrations, I really try to stay true to the game, so having my Switch nearby to take reference and to check the detail of clothes is a necessity here. And yeah of course, wine to celebrate.

⚱ Linktober- Day 21: Ancient ⚱

I decided to redraw my idea for last years prompt of "Ancient"! It's super simple but I still really love seeing this in a stained glass artstyle! I made him all colored (unlike the original from Wind Waker's opening) to make the piece pop a little more! Who knows, maybe Ill do a fully colored version of this someday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
