The Void Overview

I've been seeing some fan theories about a place called The Void by League players. This theory revolves around whether or not Jayce and Viktor are actually dead. Some league players believe that they might have ( somehow) been sent to the void. I neither agree nor disagree with this theory, but it presented an opportunity to discuss and educate Arcane Onlys about other regions of Runterra. This is basically a copy-paste from the league website. I might interject with clarifications in between, but I'm just making this post so that everything is in one place.

What Is The Void?

Screaming into existence with the birth of the universe, the Void is a manifestation of the unknowable nothingness that lies beyond. It is a force of insatiable hunger, waiting through the eons until its masters, the mysterious Watchers, mark the final time of undoing.

To be a mortal touched by this power is to suffer an agonizing glimpse of eternal unreality, enough to shatter even the strongest mind. Denizens of the Void realm itself are construct-creatures, often of only limited sentience, but tasked with a singular purpose—to usher in total oblivion across Runeterra.

~ It's basically the Upside Down, Backrooms, and the Sewers from It all rolled into one. The Void is said to have unknowable power that has been growing for a millennium.

The Rupture

On the outskirts of Icathia lies the Rupture—evidence of the Void itself bursting forth from deep beneath the ground, in an age now lost to history. Though the bold and the curious alike have often sought to learn more, only the most foolhardy explorer would ever dare venture into the dark spaces beneath.

~So there is a tangible space where it can be accessed, but as it'll quickly become apparent that people do not tend to leave The Void once entered, at least not unscathed.

Salt The Earth

One of the few known ways to combat the Void is to starve it. With no organic or magical sustenance nearby, the Void’s material growth will slow until it eventually falls into a dormant state.

The Voidborn

Though it has bred many of them, no two horrors of the Void are exactly the same. Their otherworldly forms are as varied as they are terrifying—yet all are driven by an insatiable hunger, with the eerie pulsing of their hearts driving them relentlessly onward.

Armored In Darkness Some legends suggest that, when they first emerge into the Runeterran air, the Voidborn are generally pale, fibrous and flexible. As they age, sections of their form harden into a darker, shell-like chitin, which can become strong enough to turn aside almost any weapon.

The Touch Of The Void

Over the centuries, many mortals from the world above have answered the Void’s call or been dragged down against their will. There are those among them—few and far between—who have survived the encounter... though not a single one of them returned unchanged.

~Basically, the Void is where all hopes and dreams go to die. It's probably the scariest and deadliest region in all of Runterra. Do you guys think Jayce can rise to the challenge and be one of the few to weather the Void and live to tell the tale?

okay but i REALLY wanna talk about the “second world”

this will contain huge spoilers of one piece, specifically of the elbaf arc and the most recent chapter, chpt. 1138!! so if you’d rather not see that, please skip bc i don’t wanna ruin this for you lol. this is like a pretty big lore drop (to me at least).

first of all… girl, there is A LOT going on

everything i say from this point on is strictly theory. and some of the parts of my theory are stretches. and some parts i was confused on, so i just kinda bullshitted my thoughts (meaning that i just said, “sure that works” when thinking what certain parts could mean). i could be right on the money or i could be not even close to what this means. so yeah, take that as you will 🫡

“There was breath upon the emptiness.”

okay so, my interpretation is this is either joy boy’s birth (whether that be natural or some other way due to the whole void century thing) OR this could be joy boy ringing in a new era.

“The god of the forest sent forth demons. The Sun merely spread the embers of war.”

the sun would be joy boy in this case. and the god of the forest would be imu, or someone who was “imu before imu” if that makes sense. like someone who would’ve been joy boy’s equivalent of imu. this could be connected to devil fruits, or it could be connected to the celestial dragons since they’re also called “heavenly demons” (which now that i think about it, that’s an oxymoron. that’s not important tho lol). now i don’t FOR SURE know what the sun “merely” spreading the embers of war could mean. if i had to take a guess, the fight between joy boy and the demons proved destructive. joy boy didn’t mean for it to be this way, but that’s how it turned out to be. that is a huge ass stretch tho i’m not even gonna lie.

reading this, at first i was like “huh?” but then i saw a lot of people speculating that this could be the d clan’s origins!! which makes so much sense. okay so a half moon looks like this:

it’s also the “first quarter” moon phase. although this isn’t the only half-moon. there’s also the “third quarter” phase, which is like the image of the moon above only flipped horizontally. there’s actually a really well-written and awesome theory on the moon phases and the clan of D that i’ll link HERE. (okay actually no i fucking WON’T because tumblr won’t let me link it, so the name of the post is “Exciting speculations on the D clan in relationship to the Moon and the Ancient Kingdom after chpt. 1138” if you wanna look it up lol). but i don’t wanna talk about that right now. but i highly suggest you guys read it because it’s so good!!

so my theory is that the clan of d either: a) descended from the moon or a moon clan OR b) were humans that worshipped the moon (?). i’m very highly more swayed towards them being from the moon, because it makes sense to me and bc i think it’d be awesome-sauce. maybe they came to earth and had no idea what to call themselves other than “D” because it looked like the moon (now that’s just a headcanon. i just needed to share that lol bc that’d be so cool)

and we also know that enel (or eneru) went to the moon in search of “fairy vearth”. and if you connect the dots between skypiea (which is such a good arc idk how people could hate it) and this most recent chapter, you’ll see that there’s gotta be a connection from the shandia tribe and the skypieans to the D clan or the people of the half moon. As for what the people of the moon means, i’m gonna be honest i have no clue. it could be other people who come from the moon or perhaps the D clan are half human, half moon person. i really don’t know 😭😭 as for their dream, maybe their dream was for peace or freedom. or maybe their dream is for these demons to meet their match. to me, the clan of D consistently goes against the grain. they don’t adhere to what the world expects of them, they don’t fall in line. that’s why they’re hated and feared by celestial dragons. maybe their dream is them fighting along side joy boy? I DONT KNOW THIS IS A STRETCH I DONT WANNA BE WRONG

okay. i think this explains the origin of devil fruits. when they “killed the Sun” they killed joy boy. either out of the fear of facing punishment from celestial dragons or perhaps the god of the forest mentioned earlier OR out of rage due to joy boy and the demon’s war. maybe they were upset by all the destruction it caused and they had to take it out on someone (that someone being joy boy). maybe they wanted a taste of his power and they wanted to play god. somehow, nika was placed into a devil fruit (??? idk man this is also a stretch) after joy boy was killed. the god of the sea, probably a god who was friendly with nika and/or joy boy, observed this as an act of greed and saw this as unjust. as we know, devil fruit users are “hated by the sea”. if you put them in water, they drown. if they touch sea prism stone, they can’t use their devil fruit abilities and so on and so forth. the god of the sea was so enraged by this that they said “fuck it, y’all are not allowed in the sea NO MORE” which leads us to…

“They could never meet again.”

to me, this means that the people who killed joy boy and/or nika, who maybe also subsequently created devil fruits, can no longer touch the sea. this also means anyone who consumes a devil fruit cannot touch the sea because they have a “connection” to those that killed joy boy. now, this COULD BE tricky because if i remember correctly, joy boy ate a devil fruit which is how he gained nika’s abilities. i might be completely wrong because im only on whole cake island 😭😭 but at least that’s what i’ve heard and read. maybe devil fruits were created and consumed at some point in time during the void century. maybe the god of the sea was chill with devil fruit users UNTIL they killed joy boy and then they decided “nah you guys suck” which leads to devil fruit users no longer being able to touch the sea. they can never meet again means that the users and the sea can never interact again due to the acts of the humans that killed joy boy (possibly)

all of this is theory as i said!! i could be wrong or i could be right or i could have half of this right. really, i was just excited about the mention of the people of the half-moon and the possible connection between them and the clan of D. but uh, yeah. that’s just what i think. i’m not completely caught up with everything in one piece, i haven’t even gotten to gear 5 yet bruh, but yk my jaw dropped seeing this panel and hearing/seeing the theories. lmk what you think!! in other news, here’s a poorly drawn ace punching the air or something

Okay. This is a long shot. You don’t have to answer this. I’m just having a bit of an issue with a Zelda fic I’m writing and I don’t know anybody else who plays Zelda or makes fan content, so I have turned to the internet. If this ask offends you and you want to throw it into the void, you’re welcome to, I’m sorry for bothering you.

The fic is basically TotK if it fit in with the rest of the timeline. Zelda is sent to Skyloft’s time, Rauru’s ghost is actually post-linked-universe!Sky (and he doesn’t stay a ghost for long), that sort of thing. For the plot I am looking into what happened in the era before Wild with the Sheikah tech, and I came up with a Minish OC to be another Sage, as in some Zelda games there is also a Sage of Forest or a Sage of Earth. I’m combining the two. I need to pick or create someone to be the forest Sage in Wild’s time. As some additional context, I’m more or less designing a Divine Beast for the Minish Sage to pilot (that was still being built when the ban on Sheikah tech was announced and thus left a bit unfinished, and not mentioned in the legends). I really like the idea of giving Wild a little mouse companion, but I feel a little obligated to make Hestu the Sage, as all the other Sages (except the pilots/sages from the Sheikah era) are characters we know from the game. I hesitate to make it Hestu because, since the first pilot was a Minish, their Divine Beast will be about the size of the Master Cycle 0 at very most, and thus will be awkwardly sized compared to a 8ft tall broccoli. The way I see it I have 3 options:

1. Make Hestu the Sage and scale-up the Divine Beast for whatever reason (probably make the previous sage a korok or kokiri instead).

2. Create a Minish OC to be the new sage.

3. Make it so the Divine Beast was so far from completion that Hestu is unable to pilot it, or 3b. Make it finished enough that Purah is able to repurpose it into something big enough for Hestu to pilot.

I hesitate to make it Hestu for the mentioned reasons. I hesitate to make it a Minish for the mentioned reasons. I hesitate to make it incomplete to the point of un-salvageability because I have ideas about Ganon taking over it and using it to try and kill the Sage and/or spy on Link. I hesitate to make Purah repurpose it for the above reasons, and because that would take a while and I don’t want to put huge timeskips in this fic.

So. I’m aware this is a long shot and I’m sorry springing this on you when I’m a complete stranger. I’ll reiterate that you don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to. But on the chance that this isn’t too much of a reach, do you have any thoughts?

Didn't know about that Corruption theory before (and didn't wanna reblog the post for spoilers) but now I'm curious, what other theories did people have while the show was still airing? I joined the fandom around 160 so anything before that is a mystery to me.

Oh goodness, so so many. Only a few that I remembered off the top of my head, but I spent some time today trawling the depths of my "magnus archives speculation/analysis" tag and found a couple more fun ones.

Most of the ones I did remember are either still popular headcanons (Web!Martin), or actually turned out to be canon (Jonah!Elias). The Gertrude one always stuck in my head because it's very silly on the surface but also draws attention to the fact of like - how was her skin still in good enough condition to wear after being buried for months? (And Lietner's too, for that matter). Was Nikola just wearing really tattered rotten shreds???

Anyway. Some that I remembered, which all relate to Martin for some reason:

Backup Archivist: Heading into the Unknowing, Elias had Martin reading statements specifically to train him to be a stand in Archivist in case Jon died. Also included sub-theories that he could end up able to compel people on his own, share the role with Jon, or take over entirely if the show pulled a bait-and-switch and Martin was the real protagonist all along.

Who's the Father?: Every single possible theory about who Martin's dad was and what implications that could have on the show, from Leitner to Elias to Peter Lukes to that one dude Peter banished to the Lonely in his statement in 159.

Schwartzwald Cousins: Albrecht von Closen says he and Clara/Carla had trouble having kids in his first statement, but in a later episode says they have two boys. Part 1 of the theory was that the kids were actually avatars who'd emerged from the mausoleum after Albrecht disturbed it, and been adopted by the childless couple. Part 2 was - well - it's canon that Gerry is descended from one of these kids. The theory was, what if Martin was descended from the other? Gerry seems to have some Eye powers linked to his heritage and upbringing, so it was speculated that Martin might turn out to have some as well and be important to either Elias's plans, or to thwarting him (this tied into the Backup Archivist theory nicely). A sub-theory was that they were significantly closer cousins, Martin's mum's maiden name had been Keay, and Martin K. Blackwood was Martin Keay Blackwood all along.

i have been procrastinating on this for a really long time, i have no internet and in a cave right now sauurrrr i’ll finally write this. 

anyways let’s start. my loa journey began with subliminals and hearing about it from my dad and people i look up to a few times here and there. so when i finally listened to subliminals and saw results i actually dug deep into loa.

when i was using subliminals, i was using it to change my appearance. i was like fourteen- fifteen. i actually manifested a smaller nose, plumper lips and a crazy side-profile. my seatmate kept saying my face was changing so i finally told her how and she was so up to also give it a try because she hated her nose and i swear to god, i remember the night i sent her a link, the next morning her nose looked SO different lol. (if you’re gonna say we grew up, how did we grow up overnight? also she was already 16-17 at that time) she liked it but her english wasn’t that good and she didn’t really get into it like me, you know she just shrugged it off. bad for her honestly, she’s still in a bad mood. 

i think about a few months passed and i came across the “void state”, well well well was it one unfortunate accident! i became obsessed, i was up until a month ago. it was just too fucking good to be true!

if i just entered it and affirmed once then i’d get rid of the body and face i hate, i’d get rid of the grades i’m not satisfied with because i’m greedy asf, i’d be filthy rich and happy with my family! it felt like the key to all my problems.

i think most of us think this way when we hear about the void for the first time, we put it on a pedestal and just hope, wish and pray to get in once so we can finally live the life that we want!

now i can proudly say i’ve healed, i have realized that I AM the key to everything, that the world quite literally revolves around me. if i didn’t exist then what importance would the world have? i give it importance! same goes to each and every one of you! if you didn’t exist, how would this world be important?! man gives meaning to the world.

after i accepted the fact that my inner-world is my only world and that i am the inner-man, the outer-man is merely but an expression of the inner-man, i realized what was wrong, why i did not “enter” the “void”, cross that shit, why i didn’t tap into the “i am”, the “pure consciousness”. 

we all share the same consciousness, across every single reality out there, there is one consciousness hence we can manifest instantly when we induce pure consciousness. we can move our awareness to any reality, we can actually mold our current reality and create a new one.

now now, what’s more important and what will help me actually tap into a state where i can induce pure consciousness anytime and anyhow i want? imagination. my favorite fucking word. 

in imagination i can easily induce pure consciousness, in fact instantly! so i do it in imagination, the only real reality. i fulfill myself, i create a new belief (feeling) where i have always induced pure consciousness and always will because i am the key to everything! i have also induced it like two times in the outer-world, 3D.

the law of assumption is a LAW, you always have to use it to your advantage because it will never fail you. you feel bad, you manifest bad, you feel good, you manifest good!  and remember you can choose what to feel in your inner-world!

Hello there!! So a few months ago probably at this point?? I sent you an ask that i Was reading your fic 1968 and just couldn't put it down, and how much i love it. I promised to let you know what i think of it when i finished it, and i am maybe ever so slightly late, but here I am.

Shortly after I sent that ask my personal life got really messy and long story short I was just not in the headspace to consume anything heavier than, idk, New Girl. It was a rough time.

I finally picked it up again yesterday and I was so so excited to read it. I feel like the fic was haunting me, i swear. I study education, and i was really really struggling with a big exam, and if i didn't love teaching as much as I do i might have just dropped out, honestly. Then, my friend recommended and lend me a book(i have yet to read it) that she had recently read in her book club: american wife, a book about a woman's life whose husband is running for president in the US (i in turn told her about this fic and sent her the link lol). And then i ahd to write a research paper about, broadly speaking, greek mythology in modern writing. A lovely haunting in time for spooky season lmao

Anyway, i picked it up, didn't put it down except to sleep or to eat and also to regularly scream about it into the void and cry, and finished it. Now I am writing this.

As i said, that exam was really difficult, and i was sat there considering alternative career paths because I felt so close to giving up. When i got to the part in the fic where Aegon and Io were discussing what they would like to do, how they both want to teach again, on the roof??? I'm telling you I started bawling. I shed a tear here and there already very regularly throughout the fic, but that part got to me in a way i can't fully articulate. But here i am the same age as Io hut i am in university studying education and i do get to be a teacher and yeah it's difficult sometimes but

Truly, your writing is incredible. It is so so good, so touching, so real. I cry easily when reading, but the way that got me is a testament to your skills as an author.

I was feeling more invested in the elections in your Story than the actual current ones in the US (tho to be fair i'm not american). I was feeling so constantly torn between yeah i want Aemond to win, because politically, the other options are really bad, and wanting him to finally get assassinated because OH MY GODDDDDDD. THAT MANNNN.

Everytime i thought yeah it can't get worse it did!! I cant hate him any more, in fact I can!!! How did you manage to make him THAT dislikable???? Several times throughout the fic i had to just put it away for a moment becauss of how angry i got and also because i couldn't fully believe i was about to read what i was about to read.

On the other side of course we have Aegon and the helplessness that followed his and Io's relationshop tore at my heartstrings and my heart broke about a million times again and again and again.

Io's relationship with Cosmo😭😭😭😭 he is such a precious child and oh my godddd.

Now the Gang that is Mimi, Fosco and Ludowika. Three incredible Icons. I was aftually so shocked when mimi died. Like whatttt do you meannnn??? It makes sense, i guess, but i was still so surprised lol. Fosco and Ludowika are both great. Captains of the ship they were, especially Fosco, and i love them for it. Ludowika my eastern bloc representation <3 i hope she enjoys her gucci and gets to eat some polish food

Some random things: rhaenyra and aemma mention??? Viserys has to be a bad husband and father to the greens in every universe. Alicent and criston relationship???? Ohhhhh my god yes. Nate and rachel i really loved you for your brief appearances and i do feel sorry for you.

I think once the whole Story kinda... settles, i will think of so many more things to say, but for now i'm just gonna talk about the ending.

I didn't really know what to expect from it, but i was certainly very nervous and getting more and more nervous while i watched the Page count. But you managed to wrap the story up in such a satisfying way, that felt genuienly earned and real and it was a happy ending but it wasn't unrealistic or perfect, but that made it just all the better. I would have wished that aegon and Io would have gotten a happier end, obviously, and didn't have to suffer the way they did, but you didn't comrpomise the story for the happy end. It sucks, but it's real, and that made it all the better when they finally finally reunited. I did in fact cry again when Io got to put on heavy makeup and they both got to teach and cosmo greeted her in the school and i just🥺🥺🥺🥺

And on the other side we have Aemond and you managed to have him suffer at the end (as!he!should!!) and fall off his throne on olympus finally finally finally in such a satisfying way, without having the story end unhappily with him loosing the elections because despite all i wanted him to win the elections, kinda!

OH ALSO!! DAERON OH MY GOD??? For a moment i thought that was it for daeron like oh my goddddddd. Incredible. And then he went to aegon and tessarion is his rat and he kept her and oh my godddd.

Anyway. How long is too long for a Single ask? I dont want to know the word count of this. I could have left a comment this long under every single chapter probably but i was far too invested in the story to take a break.

I'm gonna take a break now and then go on your ao3 Profile and read my way through everything. Maybe look for something where aemond is a little less shitty lol, poor boy should redeem himself. TL;DR: elizabeth was raised in an isolated andrastian doomsday cult, intended to be a living nuke/messiah/world-ender. thanks to her mix of bloodlines and fade-related experiments done on her during childhood, her cocktail of powers is formidable: magic, capital D Dreaming, and the ability to interact with the veil and the fade — which is made stronger by the orb incident at the conclave.

this incident separates liz and amelia from the cult. in haven, they find each other again and start a new life away from comstock's power and control. once again, elizabeth finds herself becoming an idol. she is so tired.

in a secluded forest in the dales, scattered with abandoned orlesian estates, zachary comstock created a niche andrastian doomsday cult.

naturally, he wanted to create a baby messiah that would, at his bidding, fully end the world so that he could create a new one from its ashes. does NOT believe in magic, notably. he's like.... the anti-solas. lmao

anyway he marries amelia, an ex-bard who became a god-fearing woman, and "had a baby" "with her" (she had a lil tryst with booker, half-elven, a templar recruit passing through)

uh oh! baby is a mage! baby is a dreamer mage! baby is making friends with entities that want to be roommates in her brain!

after baby born, comstock recruits robert and rosalind lutece (mage-researchers who were exiled from tevinter for magic crimes) to help turn baby into a nuke.

amelia threatens to beat the shit out of rosalind if she doesn't help elizabeth not get eaten by a demon.

with the help of some cult-loyal former templars, they rework comstock house into a sort of... solitary circle tower? essentially doubling as a house for the family to live and a laboratory where elizabeth's abilities can be observed and analyzed as they grow.

AND BOY HOWDY, DO THEY GROW.

thanks to the absolute CLUSTERFUCK of the luteces' fade/veil experiments on baby liz, her magey magic, and her dreaming, elizabeth's power spikes exponentially when she hits puberty. this very nearly destroys not only her body and mind (abomination. yeehee) but the environment around them (tears).

this is a good sign. this means it's working. BUT it needs to be Handled.

underneath the house, the luteces build the siphon: some kind of... you know what i'm not gonna figure out how it works rn. but it's essentially a contraption(???) that suppresses her multidimensional fade/veil shit, stunts her dreaming abilities, and dulls her magic to normal-mage-people levels.

this allows comstock to have direct control of how much power elizabeth has! like any good dad should :)

as in infinite, the luteces regularly wipe elizabeth's memories of the experiments done on her, so she just thinks her power spiked and then dulled on its own for whatever reason. in general her memories of childhood are pretty foggy, though the one constant throughout is her bond with her mother, @sanctamater.

THE CONCLAVE.

oh boy i sure hope shit doesn't hit the fan!

elizabeth is sent to the conclave in an attempt for comstock and his cult to gain a foothold in general thedosian politics. she takes her mother amelia with her, but amelia waits in haven while the conclave happens.

shit hits the fan. liz suffers an orb incident.

interestingly, the new mark on her hand seems to interact directly with the powers she already possesses — this is something i wanna develop further but don't have the brain juice to think about right now. we'll table that for later.

liz and amelia are an inseparable unit thereafter. deprogramming them — especially amelia, who has been through A LOT — is going to take time. but i believe in them :)

shit will probably hit the fan again later when zachary finds them, but you know what? we don't gotta worry about that right now. right now, we're building an inquisition and cringing so hard when our mom makes sure we wear mittens before we go to emprise du lion.

I wonder if there's some kind of time/dimensional shenanigans going on with the 2 different Zora types? Or is it a simple case of River Zora vs Ocean Zora?

The Oracle games had both the OoT/MM-style Zora and the River Zora! Though in Labrynna and Holodrum — not Hyrule.

(Also isn't it odd that the Zora in OoT live in freshwater, but in MM and the Oracle games they live in the ocean? And the BotW/TotK Zora look like they'd be Ocean Zora but seem to prefer freshwater. Weird.)

The Deku are definitely the most forgotten reoccurring Zelda race by the devs, lol

The last time the Deku appeared in the downfall timeline specifically was in the Oracle games; once again in Labrynna and Holodrum but not Hyrule.

Also, it's definitely interesting seeing the combination of design elements from various games!

The Zora Princess/Queen seems to have the BotW/TotK design with the "side fins" near her face and metal accessories:

*If this is ALttP/LA/OOA/OOS (and maybe ALBW) Link, that is. Maybe this is a new iteration of Link and Zelda that just doesn't have the Master Sword at all? This wouldn't be the first time another sword is powerful enough to defeat Ganon, what with FSA's Four Sword and all, lol.

did any of you expect a sequel to my phaaze is a void (kirby) post? i sure didn't

just 100%ed LOZ echoes of wisdom, incredible game i had pretty low expectations after the link's awakening remake was just kinda okay to me but it blew me away, but i was losing my shit the entire final boss fight because the fucking thing happened again

quick recap, kirby star allies' final boss is void termina, right, world of destroyers devil-like thing, in japanese it's said "There are as many Voids as there are skies." meaning there's one of these for every dimension, and with how self-referential nintendo is and how the great cave offensive from kirby super star referenced almost every nintendo property anyone remembers lol so they'd in theory have voids too, so i said phaaze was the metroid world's void given it was kinda sorta similar to kirby's dark matter

i hadn't really thought too hard about any other candidates (mainly because the only nintendo lore i really got invested in was kirby, metroid & pikmin so far lol, i've only beaten like 3 zelda games now) but figured demise from LOZ skyward sword was a fairly decent choice for zelda's, given he's also the series' mega-satan from ancient times that started a cyclical loop of hero vs bad guy that void termina also kinda had, until i was introduced to echoes of wisdom's antagonist, Null

cutting it here since i ramble a lot and don't want to eat your screen

so, get this,

this giant black/purple blob thing has existed since before the world existed

devoured anything that formed

got sealed away when the world was created

but still desires to return the world to nothingness

and basically rips holes in reality that people keep falling into especially children

creates mimics of people with red eyes and has a reoccurring thing of purple smog

and it's final fight is within it's own innards against a weird glowing core thing that initially has a shell resembling the Tris which are essentially it's antithesis

void termina may not be a black blob but dark matter certainly are

void termina's title is literally Destroyer of Worlds (and in japanese they're named Nil, unfortunately not Null too they're Nihil)

and is a thoughtless soulless force of destruction until kirby kills them with the power of friendship which is implied to rebirth them as a good guy or whatever

i don't remember it ever being explicitly stated they've always existed but everything points to that being the case, they got sealed away in ancient times only to get reawakened recently

they flee through a random wormhole to Another Dimension which is kirby's Freaky Otherworldly Place when you fight them and they have some weird association with AD in general

when someone is possessed by void termina's fragments they're surrounded by purple smog and some of them get red eyes but not always and also it creates a copy of them in AD??? or their soul is sent there and corrupted as well or something since it's said they're not actually clones??? the Parallels are very confusing, also at least one child has been raptured into Another Dimension though that was unrelated to void

their final phase is fighting them within their own innards that initially has a shell that just looks kinda weird but when torn off reveals a face resembling kirby which is essentially void's antithesis given it's the like the source of Dark Matter or whatever which kirby is absolutely the opposite of

oh also both have weird ass masks

and is it just me or does that blob bit vaguely look like void termina's core too

and another thing, the final dungeon of echoes of wisdom, Null's Body, is just a giant blob of darkness with a weird and organic looking inside, kirby 64 had Dark Star as the final level which was just a giant blob of darkness made up of all the dark matter though the innards of void termina is a better comparison since dark star doesn't really look organic lol

if only things in zelda came in sets of four instead of three like they do in kirby since void termina was sealed away by four heroes but null was sealed away by the three element goddesses or whatever, i know about hylia but they weren't mentioned at all in echoes of wisdom? at least nowhere important

i'm probably gonna try and look for more of these voids now that i've done it twice on accident lol, but it's kinda complicated because to avoid going on an entire rant the length of the rest of this post, it's said that voids manifest differently depending on what type of energy is gathered and there's four Matters also mentioned in void termina's japanese descriptions: Heart, Dream, Soul & Dark, these are definitely the types of energy void can gather given that Dark Matter, and we aren't told what the fuck these are as like fundamental forces even though they're major recurring themes in the franchise, and void termina (and phaaze & null lol) are dark matter voids but that leaves the other 3 types of matter voids completely unknown (i personally think fecto elfilis from kirby and the forgotten land is either a dream or soul void but that's another topic), and those would also not have most of the thematic connections i'd be looking for, it's almost like i'm looking for unintended patterns across franchises made by totally different teams of people, so uh i'll be on the lookout but don't expect a third of these any time soon

i dont have a picture of her right now... but im definitely gonna draw her later!! sooo rn im gonna explain her backstory a LOT more into depth and there are some triggering scenes/descriptions so there will be a read more link just in case you dont really like that type of stuff-

(tw: mentions of cannibalism, torture, genocide, and body mutilation)

so basically the story kinda starts when her mother was sent to a planet to conquer for viltrum and while she wasnt the strongest viltrumite (not exactly at nolan's level) she was still pretty noticeable on the rankings. her plan was to live among them for a few years and understand their values before taking over the planet without much trouble as the people there were known as The Divine. basically their designs kinda look like angels they have wings and they kinda look like void creatures as well? like they crawled up from space?? idk how to describe it... i'll probably have to draw it lol.

anyways she has to be careful because they are strong and while not at viltrumite level in packs they can be deadly as they are known to be fast, their teeth and nails are also sharper as well and can pierce through most metal. but as she lives there she falls in love with trixy (my oc)'s dad and they start a family. then having trixy.

trixy gets her powers really early at the age of 5 and her mother starts training her to use them and she ends up getting pretty good at it. yet when she turned 10 the viltrumites came and yelled at her mother and when she refused to take over the planet they got violent saying how these people were nothing but animals and monsters and that her caring for them was a weakness.

they killed her husband first and when they had beaten her mother up to make a point she shoved her dads remains into her mothers mouth and uhhh... yeah they killed her shortly afterwards. they were planning to kill trixy as well but they ended up keeping her as she was strong. but since they didnt like her wings they tore those from her back. her eyes also looked different (they were purple and the whites of her eyes were black) but they ended up just making sure that she always either covered did or wore some sort of contacts to make them look normal

they had her conquer planets for them and check on other viltrumites and stuff like that. she doesn't like them but she also knows that blindly revolting would result in her death, so she works for them. until she comes to earth and basically joins forces with mark.

also! another thing about her is that she has really good eyesight but only at night/in the dark. otherwise her eyesight is hindered

You can make your own art, join factions and help them with art, grief (except people will be mad at you), or just chill in chat, whatever floats your boat.

Q. How to Chat? Why is Chat?

A. Chat’s chat. Sometimes it's so quiet that you see messages from two hours ago and sometimes every message is from the same minute. Try not to spam (i.e. type out 1 word messages, have the entire chat as your name, spam pinging others). If someone is being aggressive or out of line you can report them and the appeal would be sent straight to the mods, but don’t abuse it or you'll get banned lol.

Q. Can't post links/create factions?

A. You get access to posting links at 250 pixels placed, and 1000 placed for faction creation

You can post your coordinates in chat like this : (x, y) ex. (400, 342)

Q. Happy new year?? it surely isn’t!

A. Yes it is + you're bald. But in truth it's an “event” that happens every hour in chat where everyone says happy new year. When you think about it, it's always the new year.

Q. Is there anything that's not allowed to be drawn?

A. Obviously the TOS rules, and whatever else is in the pixel rules.

However, there are a few generally disliked things in the community, those being:

- Flags: Could be for a few reasons why they are hated, but generally flags are removed by either the factions they are built near or anyone. If you still want to make art around that nation/country, you could make art from said place.

- Single color spread/”void”: Uninteresting and too simple, try harder.

- Badly rendered art: Also known as fiddled art, it happens when you convert art with a lot of color to pxls palette of colors. there are a bunch of guides to defiddling it. (Look to “how to make art?”)

- Single pixel thickness art: Again kinda lazy and doesn’t look good with other lattices being near it (an outline might save it from being deleted).

- Duplicated art: Unless it's with a good reason, having the same art twice is usually looked down on.

Q. My art got deleted! Why?

A. Sorry to hear that! This might have happened because one of a few different reasons:

- It was one of the disliked arts (see previous question)

- It was built in an outline of a pre-claimed art, meaning there was art that was gonna be built there already. You can tell a pre-claim by an outline of a single color. It's easier to spot them if you zoom out. (If you want to preclaim an art, you have to do that kinda early during a new canvas)

- It was built in a lattice, which is usually fine but sometimes the faction is against it.

You can always ask in chat if you have any further questions.

**A big tip is if you want your art to last, you should build an outline around it. **

Preferably with one solid pixel of color, this is really recommended because if your art has jagged pixels, an outline will smooth it out, making it both look better with a lattice behind it and giving it a “polish”. The clueless bot has a command to auto make an outline if your image is a png with a clear background.  ex. >outline green Image or link

Q. How are big pieces of art made?

A. Usually big arts would have their faction's name and a unique lattice around it. If the art doesn't have a name around it then it's either a solo build, the faction doesn't want a name or they forgor. 

Q. What are factions?

A. Factions are groups of people who place together, either because they have a shared interest or goal. You can join as many as you want but you can only display one name. You can access that setting by clicking on your name at the bottom left and selecting factions.

The big factions are Osu, Green lattice, Legion, Mane, and many many others. They can be found in the factions channel in the main pxls discord.

Q. How do I make art?

If you want to make something big (above 2.5k or so), you should generally check with either chat or the #plans channel in the discord. Remember, if the canvas is already past about 2 weeks that means most of the big areas have been filled, so you'll have to wait until the next canvas. Each canvas lasts from 25-40 days.

Don’t forget to add an outline around it, in fact it's recommended to start with one!

Q. Things to do while placing? 

A. A lot of people do things like listening to music, watching videos, or only placing like 6 pixels every hour, your call.

Q. Recommended settings?

A. Green means it's recommended to have it on, blue means you should play around with it if you like it or not. Obviously it's up to you but this is what I find to work the best.
