I don’t know why, but I have very strong faith in VeiFei

majority of fandom is saying they’re toxic. that Vein’s abusive. that there’s manipulation or exploitation involved. And I myself acknowledge that they’re the “toxic yaoi couple” to contrast the domestic, fluffy ShiGuang

Yet at the same time, I believe in them

I believe that Xia Fei is not just an abused 受 to the 渣攻 Vein, although they’ve been heavily coded that way so far*. I even think that, between the two of them, Vein is actually the one who cares more.

I know this sounds ridiculous. But as I was already preparing to put on my clown makeup way before VeiFei even debuted and the rest of the fandom saw what I saw, then what’s wrong with me being a little “delusional” once more. Who knows, my manifestation powers might work again. If not…well, the clown makeup is right there.

*I’m only referring to the tropes here. I don’t care what their bed positions are. They could be 互攻 or 反攻, and I’ll still ship them

A lot of people have already pointed out the inconsistencies surrounding dates in Link Click but what if it’s all been on purpose? What if sometime in s3 Liu Xiao confronts him and gives a whole reveal that LG looped to save CXS so much that it finally broke time? Or at least twisted it so much to where dates are all wonky and LX cannot see a definitive future anymore? That this is LG’s last chance bc this timeline is already outta whack and further damage might ruin the space time continuum or some shit?

Idk I’m so curious about LX bc my theory is that he can see the future. Or predict it as best as he can but LG’s actions have created a lot of timelines and harm to time. The thing is LX isn’t Vein. I don’t think he’s power hungry, revels in killing, wanting to rule the world. Honestly I’m predicting he kills Vein in this arc.

Vein wants power. LX wants control. They may give the same desire but LX seems more complex and specific in his endeavours. He wants control over the future and it’s easier to that when all the parallel lines are together rather than them scattered everywhere.

This is smth I noticed when first watching season 1 that I haven’t seen anyone bring up. The elderly couple from episode 5.5. In the flashback to their youth, the man takes a photo with a phone I believe and his girl is wearing modern clothes. Honestly it looks like it taken a few years ago. But when we meet them in the present they’re at least 70 HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE???

ok ok so vein and liu xiao are working together behind the scenes and xia fei works for vein for modeling and xia fei is working for liu xiao behind the scenes but there is no known group effort (as far as we know). which means that it's possible that either vein knows entirely abt xf spying on cxs and lg per lx's request (but xf DOESN'T know he knows) OR vein doesn't know anything abt lx using xf. interesting

WAHHHH TYSMMM :3 heh…ill let you have a little look at how i make my animatics blaauuhhhh

i use both procreate and capcut, with a canvas of 3000 x 1688 (the usual 16:9 ratio for youtube videos) and most of the animatic songs originally came from the shiguang playlist i made on spotify!!! i also use the brush gel pen for most drawings!!!! u can find it in the ‘inking’ section ^_^

i usually have a hard time visualizing things in my head, so most of the animatics you see are just kind of made up on the spot Or i make a quick storyboard at the start :p

(heres an example for the cut that always bleeds animatic!!!)

u can usually see which animatics have an initial storyboard since the composition is a little neater (broken time, im your man, the exit) compared to the ones that were made on the spot (like him, class of 2013, and all the rest basically)

the animatics usually take 9-12 hours from planning, drawing, editing and typography!!! The longest it took for me the complete an animatic was probably the im your man animatic(20 hours) and the shortest being my september or i can fit two

i often dont have a set palette or colour for a video, i just kind of go along with the energy of the song….yellows and blues are v prominent in my process tho considering those are the primary colours for shiguang hehe

i use these graphs for the in-out movements for my animatics(the little smooth transitions)!!! ive been using these more rather than frame by frame animation because doing that makes me die a little inside

ive made around 13 link click animatics so far, and im not planning on stopping!!!!! (｡+･`ω･´)

Could Yingdu and/or S3 have some sort of commentary on authoritarianism, specifically via Vein?

It's been in my head for a while, but this scene made me really consider it:

"Once someone breaks the law, there's no room for sympathy."

It's Lu Guang who says it, but I don't think he really believes that. He says it in the heat of the moment, and my first assumption was it being an unconscious projection of the underlying sense of hopelessness and doubt he has towards his choices, due to how Vein's "this is your punishment for changing the past" has been haunting him(and, as many have pointed out, there's definitely parallels between him and Vivian). Or, since it's been established that he isn't the best at communication, he instinctively phrased it that harshly in a desperate attempt to get Cheng Xiaoshi to give it up.

Whatever the case, the theme is there, and we can tell that link click takes a stand against this sentiment by framing Vivian/Li Weiwei in a sympathetic light, especially once she redeems herself by making the objectively right choice of giving Cheng Xiaoshi a chance to escape.

However, the ringleader of the scamming operation kills her for this, for to him it was a betrayal, an act of rebellion, of disobedience. (Which can be felt to be unnecessarily tragic/unfair/kind of extra. Definitely the intended effect: he was going to be arrested anyways, it was just a last show of power. That's what an egoistic person would do. but link click does have an unfortunate track record lol)

Vein does the same thing in his PV to a few of his subordinates(for stealing data presumably. we could also see how terrified they were in the process, whether it was from being found out OR they did it because they could no longer handle being under Vein)

And, to everyone except Lu Guang at the photostudio. For breaking a 'law'(not changing the past), which for whatever reason, is under his jurisdiction, and thus means going against his authority. Which he takes very seriously (while this sets him apart from Vivian's boss, since he is framed to be maintaining a status quo of sorts, it IS also an excessive show of power)

"Once someone breaks the law, there's no room for sympathy." (Which, we've been shown, shouldn't be the case)

And, as Vivian put it: "If you want to get out, be in agreement(or, as in the bilibili translation: surrender), or die."

^the "CCTV" label in this image implies that it's from the pov of a surveillance camera, and along with what we see in the OP, the posters and Xia Fei's PV(kind of), brings in a "surveillance" aspect of his character. And if the "surveillance via Xia Fei's photographs" theory is true, it could really add to the (assumed) subtext, depending on how it's depicted

Going back to Vein's authority, whatever it is, remember this from S2?

If I had to guess, this is why Xiao Li was also targeted. However he ran the task force, maybe clashes with whatever Vein also does and he wouldn't stand for it. Either that, or he took offense at his absolute authority being threatened.
