This past week, Jun Tamatani passed away.

This former Gainax designer was the person who designed many of Dragon Quest's iconic equipment and items, including the Sword of Erdrick, the Sword of Zenithia, Thanatos' shield (the classic version, not DQVIII's), the Thief's key, the Eye of Rubiss, the Chimaera Wing... All of which was often missatribuited to Akira Toriyama, who passed away one year ago.
