Kb egy éve találtam meg Dora Goodman instagram oldalát, aki 3d nyomtatható open source fényképezőgépek tervezésével foglalkozik. Amikor megláttam körülbelül Március végén hogy egy kis méretű, műszaki kamerát is tervezett... kicsit felgyorsultak az események.

Amíg a berendeltem ebayről optikát, kihuzatot, mattüveget és film kazettát addig Polefkó Ottó segítségével sikerült kinyomtatni az összes szükséges alkatrészt, némi módosításokkal.

Főleg azért vágtam bele a projektbe mert régóta érdekeltek ezek a perspektíva korrigálásra/torzításra kitalált kamera mozgások és ez a gép kellőképpen pici ahhoz hogy egyrészt ne szegje kedvem hogy eltudjam magammal cipelni, másrészt ne kelljen a síkfilmek miatt labort létrehoznom az albérletünkben. Ráadásul a Mamiya RB67 magazinjának rendszerére építkezik, amiről körülbelül 5 percig azt gondoltam hogy olcsón hozzá lehet jutni.

Természetesen ugyanúgy mint a két évvel ezelőtti kanapé építés esetében, a végeredmény drágább lett a végére mintha vettem volna egy nagyobb, nehezebb gépet használtan.

Kb két hónap elteltével most vagyunk a mostban, amikor megszülettek az első tesztfotók a múlt hétvégi nyaralásunkon, Dömösön. Nagyon meg vagyok elégedve egyelőre a géppel, a képekkel és a súlyával is. (kb 200g-al könnyebb az F3-as Nikonomnál, viszont kell neki egy külön táska !)

10 kockából 1-et menthetetlenül túlexponáltam, 1 alul lett exponálva, de így is érdekes képet adott, 1 kép kompozícióját szúrtam el, 1 pedig egy gyengébben sikerült változata egy másik képnek

I’ve found Doragoodman’s Instagram approximately a year ago, what really got my attention was an open source 3d printable technical camera called Axis., which she designed.

I immediately wrote an email to one of my friends, Ottó Polefkó who makes 3d prints for a living and asked him to print me the necessary parts while I’m ordering a lens, focusing screen, bellows and film magazines on ebay.

I chose to build the Axis because I really wanted to learn basic camera movements for a long time now. Earlier I’ve used a giant Linhof technica at the University of Sopron, and I really liked it, but it is ridiculously large, heavy, expensive and I just couldn’t bring it with me for a hike whenever I wanted. Without proper practice I would never learn the correct technique. Of course as it turned out like with my couch building project two years ago, it would have been just cheaper to buy a larger, heavier camera instead.

Approximately two months has passed by and now we are at now, now, when I’ve shot the first roll of film with the Axis on our vacation at Dömös. I’m very very pleased with the camera, the results and mostly with its weight. (it’s like 200g lighter than my Nikon F3, of course it needs a separate bag too)

From 10 frames I’ve overexposed 1 by removing the dark slide while the shutter was open, I’ve underexposed 1 but it is kind of interesting like it is, I’ve messed up the composition on 1 of them and there is 1 which is not as good as the other try.

Henna has been a volunteer with Be the Star You Are! and began hosting Express Yourself!™ as a high school student.
